  1. I don't mind Sami winning...but wasn't a fan of how the match played out. It doesn't hurt Gunther in my opinion, but still...I guess we'll see what happens after WM. Hopefully he destroys Sami (while getting DQ'd or something). Especially since Cody eliminated him from the Rumble 2x, they need some time apart before we (hopefully) get that feud. Expected more out of Jimmy vs Jey. The rest of the matches have been enjoyable and have served their intended purpose.

Cornette is gonna have a field day with this one!

It confirms a lot of what AEW detractors (if you want to call them that) already believed. So not really groundbreaking, but interesting to hear him be as candid as he could be about certain subjects. As for the scrum, it didn’t change my mind. Tony was feckless but it wasn’t the forum for Punk. Can totally get why he did it, given the full context. An enjoyable 2 hours for sure. 😂

Running TCW in December 2020 and had $26 million in the bank while also having bought out CWA & PGHW and running them as development companies. I've also managed to sign away some upper echelon young stars like Hollywood Brett Starr, Casey Valentine & Spencer Spade while prioritizing keeping my own stars in house. But...just got hit with a financial scandal where I lost $22 million plus which messed up my plans of starting my own broadcaster which I was going to do at when I had around $33 million. In my eyes this warrants Kyle Rhodes losing his job as CEO so I'm putting this out there for any ideas of who should replace him as CEO?

I'm guessing you're going to be using the CEO? Ricky Dale Johnson comes to mind. Or if you want a more subdued presence, what about Robert Montgomery Sr?

Kurt Angle is six foot, and Chad Gable is five foot eight. I adored American Alpha, and it was the perfect role for him but I've never taken him seriously as a singles guy (though, to be fair, the company has never presented him seriously as a singles guy).

I agree with that. But being believable with Gunther goes a long way for me. It’s not like when you saw Adam Cole tear it up in NXT but then see him next to Lesnar - the optics say he would get destroyed. Gable looks solid, like he might be a believable threat regardless of size. But again, if IC is his ceiling, so it was for Hennig. Not the worst of titles to have.

  5. For ages, I thought Zayn was perfect for NXT. From their debut in NXT I thought Owen’s was the star. Fans defending Sami dislocating his shoulder DURING HIS ENTRANCE when anyone else would have been crucified for it didn’t endear him much further to me. But that 3 way ladder match during the pandemic against AJ and Jeff really won me over. So I have changed my mind in the past lol. I can buy the character as a top guy, even if it’s not the prototypical look.

Gable I thought was the better of the Jordan/Gable tag team, and props with making chicken salad out of everything they have saddled him with. I wouldn’t hate seeing him as a World champ - he has done a credible job against Gunther. It’s not like he looks out of place like some smaller guys when they are in the ring with bigger wrestlers. But if IC is his ceiling, I wouldn’t mind seeing bangers from him on a regular basis. I am OK with having different titles for different kinds of wrestlers. Like if your World Title has constant interference, have your IC title be the workhorse/straight matchups every time.

Thanks, I actually just search google for high res gradient patterned background of whatever color I want to use, and then resize them and save them as pngs. I've posted the backgrounds along with the set for all the companies I've done for the most part.

Hahaha - seeing as that’s what I do for a lot of the logos I have made (repurpose actual logos or find a way to incorporate them how I want), not sure why it never occurred to me to do the same for the background. Might find myself going down a rabbit hole or two…

Really incredible work. What settings do you use for the background with the diagonal lines? I noticed it was slightly different in the previous company. I remember someone posting the settings for the regular CVerse stuff but this is next level.

  8. I won’t go as far as titles are props, but I do think the story overshadows wins and losses. I get that we don’t always have the whole story in front of us, so we have to engage in the whole “Well if this (insert fantasy booking) is what they are going to do, then it makes sense.” Which inevitably takes a few turns on the way to the conclusion. Don’t follow AEW enough to know what the plan with Kingston is, but I am guessing some people may look back and disagree with the decisions on wins/losses. I guess that’s why we play TEW - and some people may even say the same things about our own booking. Lid for every pot and all that.

They say it's because he did his finisher onto Jeff rather than just pin him after his knee smashed Jeff's face. I think the wording was: He was supposed to go right to the finish, but instead he did his finisher. I think what they wanted him to like small package or roll up Jeff, not do his finisher, which is like a GTS, to an already messed up head injury.

Do wrestlers now feel the need to hit every spot? Such a disappointment watching a match where they are fighting in the corner and they nearly slip on the way up…and they immediately go for the same move because it was a planned spot. There was even an interview with Moose about when he accidentally chopped Sabin on the throat, and Brian Myers was hanging upside down on the corner. Sabin goes to the back to get checked…and Myers stays in the corner the whole time. Bro, the spot is gone. Move on.

Never once did I think the Bucks were gonna win for that reason, I imagined the exact opposite actually. That maybe Sting would insist on putting his opponents over like the old school mentality required wrestlers to do. Still the Bucks didn't really need that rub and it did put Darby over huge so can't complain.

Darby gets to choose his partner and keep the belts? Or do we get a tournament?

-One of the few times we've seen HOB not in control of a situation.

-Mariah May is CVS-brand Tiffany Stratton.

-When booking the main event of the go-home show before your PPV, maybe the guy who scores the pinfall should be a guy who actually has a MATCH at the PPV? Just a thought.

-Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs. Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander on the pre-show. ... Haven't we seen that match already?

-Deeb calling herself the "Final Boss".... Hmmm....

The promotional poster showing BOSSton as the city gave it away. It has popped ticket sales but what is the long term coherent story coming out of it? Remains to be seen.

I read a blurb of an interview with the director where he said Bill's look is inspired by the celebrities popular with Gen Z and that really put things into perspective. This movie isn't meant for me, it's meant for the kids discovering themselves just like I was when I saw The Crow as a kid. I'm still going to give it a shot because I'm a sucker for Bill and even the mostly garbage Crow sequels have good elements.

The cynic in me thinks this is a way of insulating the film from criticism.

I'm currently doing a 5SSW Round Robin for the third in game year in a row and I've noticed by the time it's complete, there are no "Major Stars" in the company. It's tricky since the way TEW 2020 is built, the odd upset or short term push that do regularly happen in the likes of NJPW or STARDOM for example seem to be more a hindrance. I enjoy booking them and still will but I really need to make my current top stars dominate for a month before going back to Major Star.

Unless... am I missing something here?

It may depend on who is participating and the level of upsets. But you could heavily protect the Major Stars or simply manually boost them back if it serves the purpose of the story you are trying to tell.

  14. Anyone But You, a modern retelling of Much Ado About Nothing (by the same director of Easy A) was an empty calorie movie, filled with situations created to get pretty people in various states of undress. It was nothing special, but largely inoffensive quality-wise. If 90s-00s type RomComs are in your wheelhouse, give it a shot.

  15. The winners of the Chamber matches made sense, but I am guessing a heel (Drew) shouldn’t get to “finish his story” unless Punk will just come and take it from him when he gets back. Given Punk’s injury history though I don’t know I want to put the belt on him as soon as he comes back.

Also, is Waller a face now? The team with Theoryis done at the very least, right?

Okay, let's actually remember that rather than cite it as "muh long term booking".  The Daniel Bryan storyline lasted 8 months all up, which is already shorter than the 12 it will be between Cody Rhodes unexpectedly jobbing at WM 39 and him finally getting another chance at 40.

I don’t think losing to the champ by interference is “jobbing” to anyone. Let’s not conflate the two terms. At least it wasn’t Drew, but maybe that’s what they’re building to on the other side. Not sure who is going to be in the Chamber yet - but hopefully there are some decent characters that can carry the belt. As entertaining as he is, I don’t see the appeal of Rollins in wacky outfits screaming and laughing. But I will find other things on the show to enjoy.
