The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

Punk is a natural heel, to me. Even some of his other promos since he’s been back have had some heelish moments. Will work out well for his eventual turn. -

So Raw is going to Netflix in January of 2025. Wonder what tier Netflix will place it on. -

Maybe barely raising the shoulder after 2, Joe with a crazy look of disbelief on his face, then straight to the choke would have done more for Hook (while protecting the world champ’s finisher). Unless the plan is for Hoe to be a transitional guy and we don’t care to protect his finisher. Fine with that too. What came of the Undisputed Kingdom? Are they raising hell? Asserting their dominance?

Stevie Richards mentioned on his channel that the WWE ropes are ropes and not cables (unlike the AEW - and I want to say WCW ropes) so you don't get the same amount of resistance. I really wouldn't mind seeing the styles toned down and saving those types of moves for special moments. Imagine a PLE with 1 suicide dive, preferably higher up on the card. -

Some new logos I've worked on. There's a few real logos with the branding removed so they can be used in any game, and some are location specific. -
So Hausman isn't just a Punk stooge on this, and we have to believe what he says? I wouldn't be surprised if it was true, but at least bring receipts. And his post on X was disingenuous - looking to stir the pot for the sake of stirring the pot.

Yeah, I thought about him being in the LWO after - you make some good points. He just seems like a much better heel than he does face. And I guess we're getting Rock vs Roman? What awful news, really. Unless Rock is staying for a few months, it telegraphs what's going to happen. It would make no sense for Rock to beat Roman either. Not a fan. If we can make it happen prior to WM I'd be OK with it. Gives Roman the rub (I guess). Just not a fan, really. -
I don't know why that made me laugh as much as it did. To be fair, I went to the last Thunder/next to last Nitro, so I will always have a soft spot for The Magnificent Seven.

Andrade is rumored to be headed back to WWE, maybe as soon as tonight? Does he join Santos Escobar and create a serious stable to go up against the LWO? Not sure where he would slot in. -
So Cole was the Devil? I mean, it made sense, but I kind of wished they'd called an audible when the whole thing went tits up with all the injuries. At least it's not a UE reunion, so there's that.

How do you book yourself
CQI13 replied to ShaunGBD's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
I use a charismatic retired wrestler who is way too over for the size of my company. Gives me the excuse that it would have a lot of money to start with, but perhaps not the business connections to start off at a big enough level. And then he's the authority figure, but usually in the first several months he comes in occasionally to pop a rating - opening show to welcome the crowd, maybe run down the PPV card and introduce tournaments, that sort of thing. Then I have some charismatic youngster who I want to move up involved in a storyline with him (complaining to the authority figure, trying to prove himself, etc) -

Because the main complaint there is that refs are (willfully?) oblivious to what's happening and have no control whatsoever. Perhaps the pendulum swings too far in that sense. -

Except we're taking same "journalist's" word that there was ever a deal with the CW. All that was said was a "top 20" network, and then people started speculating. Then the cocaine spot happened and NXT signed with the CW, so they assumed it was all connected. We don't know any of that to be a fact. All these folks are just reporting what their people are telling them. How come no trade magazines mentioned an NWA deal falling through "due to a questionable segment" when NXT was signed? If anything, what I suspect happened is that IF CW was ever looking at NWA, they then saw NXT as a much better alternative to grow their network. Which it is. As far AEW and Punk, maybe they lose Collision on WBD, but why should *that* affect Dynamite? The ratings might, but that's a separate issue. In any event, I wish Tony the best. I just want him to be less thin skinned - it's a terrible look.
-
Is Tony really that thin skinned that he feels the need to respond to criticism he gets on X? Dude, you're a creator - once you create, you're not there to try to explain what something meant, or why you did it, or whatever. Let it be. I guess he only wants positive feedback on his product. Myopic, if you ask me. And he should be looking to book coherently, not based on what the fans like. Tell a good story and the fans will like that.
-
By saying he's Punk's message man, the implication is that he's making it up. After all, Punk has no knowledge of what is going on at WBD or with WWE's TV rights. And yeah, Hausman may be making it up. But as with any leak, the question to ask is "Who does this leaking out benefit?" And that's how you determine where it came from. As with most wrestling "news" I will take the side that Hausman is trying to piece this together just like anyone else, and that really he has no inside knowledge of anything.

I get *everything* you are saying. I was a huge fan of Breezango, and thought they should have beaten the Usos at that PPV they had. But my (limited) experience with OC feels different to me. He adds variety to the show, but a serious, top performer shouldn't be going along with it. It's the same way I feel about intergender matches - they should last 20 seconds with the guy turning her inside out with a massive clothesline. Unless the size difference goes the other way (e.g. Spike Dudley vs Awesome Kong). That probably makes me a hypocrite, or worse, and if that's the case, I'm OK with it. Bray's original incarnation was not my cup of tea, but I understand that people were losing their (expletive deleted) over him. To me, it was interminable Ultimate Warrior-like promos and goofy stuff, but it got over. I actually enjoyed the Firefly Funhouse stuff over his Fiend character. But again, it got over. For the most part, I just fast forwarded through his stuff. And while I agree that it's better to like things than not like things, as long as people are respectful I think it's great to hear other perspectives. For example, people sold me on the fact that Bray singlehandedly moved the storyline with Undertaker along. I went back and watched, and while I still wasn't thrilled, I can give the man his flowers on that. Otherwise, it may be kind of boring to just either agree on everything, or only talk about things we like. (How many people talk about things they dislike and use it as a platform to say what they would do differently?) What is odd are those people who find *nothing* they like, but continue to watch the show.

But they *are* on different networks already. Part of me thinks that they would put Punk on Raw to start, then you can always bring him over during the draft. I still think Punk is going to get the title from Seth, and when Roman loses the title, Heyman will drop him like a bad habit. At that point, imagine the story that could be told - Roman being unable to win the big one against Punk while being able to win against pretty much anyone else. Could be a good way to build Reigns up as a babyface after this whole Tribal Chief period. -
Or people going along with/selling for Orange Cassidy, yet here we are.

Just watched Dumb Money - nowhere near as good as The Big Short or even Margin Call in explaining how things happened, but it was entertaining. The soundtrack is straight trash, but it does fit with the whole vibe of Reddit.

These look amazing. What are some of the prompts you used for either Chief Two Eagles or Walter Crowe? I have tried a few different prompts with varying success for some other workers.
