  1. If TK is not joking, he comes across as unhinged. If he is joking, this is peak Vince Russo making jokes that only a small percentage of the audience even gets.
  2. They can always hang their hat on the demo. But in all honesty, AEW is going nowhere. It wasn't a great look, but it was a stacked NXT. Everything Tony did to try to counter it though seemed like overkill if we are playing the result.
  3. How long does it take for someone to learn a different language. As an example, 65 workers, and 3 of them only speak Japanese. A couple of workers speak English and Japanese. And the rest only speak English. How long would it take for those 3 Japanese workers to learn English?
  4. Would Dr. Death (under a mask) be suitable? One thing I loved about LU were the movie style vignettes and backstage segments. It had a very unique feel. I don't honestly see anything wrong with using a Paul Heyman or a Bischoff. Heyman would have the better stats from the jump, but I could see Bischoff wanting to do something different. Could even treat it as a "real" alternative to the top companies, as opposed to trying to directly compete from the start.
  5. So the feud is going to be that Adam Copeland came over to AEW to steal Christian's thunder yet again?
  6. Is there any way to see how long someone in another company has left on their contract, or lengthen/shorten the time. Working on a particular game and for narrative purposes it would be good to play with the numbers. **DISREGARD - I noticed where I was going wrong. The worker didn't have a Written contract so it was obviously just ongoing**
  7. Stratton has done really well so far, but the two matches with Becky have been absolute bangers.
  8. Booking team! I have a question for way down the line in my save, but something I could start planning. Running a touring promotion with a weight split. Right now, it's Middleweight and up heavy, so my Cruiserweight division (Lightweight and below) is a little lacking. That may even out when my older stars retire. However, I had a thought of down the line merging the "Heavyweight" and "Cruiserweight" Titles into just the World Title and getting rid of the weight restrictions. If I do that, I would like a second belt that would be specific to something, but not by weight. Maybe something like the US Title and it has to be defended against workers from other regions, or Intercontinental titles that have to be defended against workers from other game areas...Open to suggestions!
  9. I run test games - OK, what really happens is I hire the same folks and then I realize I don't have a cohesive story to tell so I keep restarting. My first few shows are usually the same matches, and I let the computer decide the winners the first time around. Always happens the same way. So when I decide to start a game for real, I don't choose the winner because it's going to be the same outcome as always. Yeah, except it wasn't. Now that I do have a particular story in mind the game decides to throw me a curveball. By my own doing, of course. I could have booked the winners I needed, but didn't see the need.
  10. Yes, the same one that Joe, Punk, and a bunch of other folks have been a part of.
  11. Falls Count Anywhere (used at Beach Blast 1992) Iron Man (used at Beach Blast 1992) I Quit (used at Clash of the Champions 9) No DQ (Halloween Havoc 1992) 2 out of 3 Falls (used at Clash of the Champions 6) And if you're going to build a long term program with them, they could lead teams in a War Games match.
  12. Well, for a long time he was in promotions that leaned heavily workrate. I think he would have fit in the Dean Malenko role in a more entertainment focused setting if he just leaned into the less expressive side. I've enjoyed his work, but it has its limitations.
  13. This is a story I'd love to hear. What's interesting is that I never *noticed* Don West wasn't a great commentator BECAUSE he was so passionate. It wasn't a Mike Adamle situation where he wasn't good and he wasn't passionate. Same with Adnan Virk. That probably falls on the company for hiring them, but still.
  14. I usually have Raphael as an early NXT Tyler Breeze type. And I add Ozzie and either Prime Time Jack Pryde or Beautiful Bryan Brady as Ozzie's partner, with the faction being called Model Behavior.
  15. For the women - double elimination bracket to determine Gauntlet order? So you have 4 matches, quickest winner goes last, second quickest next to last, etc. So you have the randomness of someone getting a tougher draw than others, or the Authority Figure tries to screw them over by giving them the toughest match. Depending on the worker's character - do they play it safe to get in, even if they will have to be in the match longer? Or do they try to rush things leading to a surprise loss? As The losers in those initial matches? You can stretch into a mini round robin, mini tournament, or one "last chance match." The winner gets to enter the title match first. So you end up with some decent stories to tell: - Underdog: Maybe he loses cheap (interference or attacked with a weapon when the ref is distracted) and has to go the long way to the title. Maybe it even spills into the title match where he gets his revenge. - Cocky worker tries to rush through his match for better seeding, causing a misstep and losing in upset fashion. - Worker plays it safe, and gets worse seeding than many expected. If the Cocky worker advances quickly, there's a fun story for the match and beyond - Slow and Steady vs Flashy/cocky worker. - Dominating worker ends up not winning despite entering last. Maybe the underdog completes the arc, maybe this dominating worker gets overconfident?
  16. Definitely some variety, between the "starting with what's available" and coming up with an original story to get specific characters. But also noticing some recurring themes - none of which I've ever gotten a chance to play with yet, so I'll definitely look through the bios to get a good set of starting match ups/stories. And plucking some of these young pillars could change the landscape a bit (especially for PSW). Should be a fun experiment.
  17. Wanting to start a Medium company in the Midsouth with RDJ as owner. Since written contracts are a possibility, who would you choose as the 4 stars to start off with (a la Jericho, Omega, and the Bucks) and 4 pillars to build on (MJF, Darby, Sammy, and Jungle Boy). Product is Classic balanced. Not looking for 1 to 1 counterparts, simply who you would build your roster around.
  18. Using one of these two ideas alone would breathe new life into my game. Using both?
  19. Tested out on a touring company - 20 Man Round Robin, 4 blocks of 5 people. Blocks A & C run on odd number events and B & D run on even number events. Because 5 is an odd number, there are 2 matches per block for each event (4 matches total per event) and then I had time for one or two non-tournament matches and then angles. On night 11 you need to double up so that on the 12th night (my main show) I would just have the finals. Another alternative is one 10 man block. That means you have 5 matches per show, for 9 shows. On show 10 you have the the semifinals, and run show 11 as the Tour-ending show where you have the finals. Depending on the length of the shows and match/angle ratio though, you may not get much more than just tournament matches during the show. Best way around that is to either do this when you have a small roster...or have two shows, where one is your main show and one is where you hold the Round Robin tournament.
  20. If the "feud" with Wyatt didn't bury him, he will be fine losing to Woods here.
  21. So WatchROH is $9.99 per month, but the PPVs are separate?
  22. Then the booker would get the award and not him. Can't have that.
  23. Yeah, I can see why he has the fans. I was also the guy who couldn't stand Bray's meandering promos that meant nothing and went nowhere for 10 minutes but have certainly come around on him! If only Edge didn't use the spear as a finisher (Charlotte, too for that matter) maybe I could get into his run this time around. Like said here, I have also heard it elsewhere - it has hit that point where it's meh.
