Same reason why few people ever got up during the People's Elbow or any other ridiculous finisher.
-
Wasn't Hogan on top forever seemingly in the 80s/90s?
-
I don't have the money to buy tickets, so they can hold it wherever they want. LOL
-
It will be the coldest SB in history. Currently, the Dallas/Miami game (outdoors in New Orleans) has it at 39 degrees at kick off. Isn't the average high on Feb2 in NY lower than that? Then again, with global warming, we might luck out!

College OT is a joke, especially when QBs get 8 TDs from the 25 yd line. One thing I find hilarious is (at least here in South Florida) when they make excuses for Randy Shannon: "Well, the players are young!" With the exception the OU QB that had 6 years of eligibility or Chris Weinke being a college QB at 50, ALL the players are young.
Although Peter, winning is fun.
Did they announce where the Super Bowl is going to be? Is it in NY?

It's funny how people here in South Florida are complaining about NY possibly getting a Super Bowl (mostly talk show hosts stirring stuff up) because of what Goodell apparently told the Dolphins (get a roof, get a SB) then giving NY a SB without a roof. As far as I remember, he said make improvements to the stadium (Here's an idea...pave the parking lots after 25 years of being unpaved!). Also, the host was crying about "Oh, the poor taxpayers would be on the hook for the roof." Not if the owners pay for it. Funniest comment ever by the way:
"When did the NFL become politics, where the owners are given a kickback for building stadiums?"
No wonder the guy doesn't have a weekday shift.

In the bonus situation, couldn't teams just plan for the highest possible outcome, leaving them with money to spend elsewhere?

Freddie will get another job regardless (possibly Atlanta when Cox retires).
And Hanley has caused problems in the past. He was called out last year by Uggla for taking himself out of a game with a questionable hamstring injury). He was also a baby about the dress code earlier this year (I think Spring Training).
As for the second point, he didn't show any signs of injury when he first ran the to the ball. But then he just dogged it. What's worse are his comments the next day.
"He's the [expletive deleted] manager, he can do what he wants...He's never played in the major leagues...There's 24 other guys on the team, maybe they can do what I do out there."
Had he just admitted he was wrong in dogging it, it would not have blown up nationally. But instead, he truly believes he did nothing wrong. The kid is delusional. Great talent, horrible person though.
-
Hanley is a douche for calling out the manager, especially the next day. Same day I can understand, but next day after you've had time to cool off?
-
can you explain that please, it has me confused, are you saying they will be able to rebuild quickly next year or saying it will take a while?
and also remember about the rays great draft success has only come recently. New ownership and GM took over in 2005 (offseason, but played a big part in the 04 draft)
so now we look at who the first front office drafted
names like Upton, Crawford, Huff (a 5th rounder), Shields(16th round), Rocco, Dukes, and Young (Hamilton too if you want) now only 3 remain and only One has been an all-star while Upton tries to find sucess and Shields is getting back to 08 form
New Office has found the likes of Niemann, Brignac, Davis, Longoria, Price, made trades for Soriano (closer) Bartlett, and Garza and signed Pena
in fact out of 7 drafts the Rays have been apart before the new ownership took over in which we had a first round pick, the rays failed horribly, only collecting three solid everyday starters for themselves and 6 all together, and Huff and Shields wont be apart of this next number because it's top three rounds only and in 1998 we had no picks in the first three rounds (due to free agent signings) and in 2000 no picks in the 2nd,3rd, or 4th so out of 20 picks 2 are still with the Rays and 5 are still playing ball big league ball.
The Rays pretty much wasted years of top draft picks because they rushed them to fast or people failed for other reasons (i.e Rocco and Josh H.)
But they had access to those picks. It's just like you expect the Clippers to be good with that many top picks in basketball. The fact that they've been squandered by their front office doesn't take away from the fact that they had the picks to begin with.

HAHAHA, that was awesome. How quickly did LeBron take that Cavs jersey off?
-
Crowded bars. And bartenders who ignore you for 15 minutes before taking your order.
-
All you need to know is that Doug Collins had MJ, and Rudy Tomjanovich had Kobe, and couldn't win titles. To his credit Rudy T did get the repeat when Jordan retired.
On other notes, is it Game 3 of the Finals yet? That's right about when the NBA gets exciting nowadays.
-
Fair point. I still think Cornette does and says a lot of these things for shock value. And he does that well I guess.
-
Do we know this as a fact? Besides, in WWF wasn't Russo very filtered as to what he did, meaning McMahon had final say. Shouldn't that anger be directed at VKM and not Russo? Cornette can be entertaining, and he's clearly a bright guy in wrestling. But he's completely off his rocker.
-
It may have been. But his current contract with the Dolphins isn't that large. And he's said a few times that he wants this to be his last year.
-
For all intents, Ricky's last season is this one. And that incentive laden contract I thought was the one he signed with Miami (when Wannstache proceeded to run him into the ground -- and get him all those milestones).
-
I would do away with the large sums of guaranteed money. Maybe spread it out over a few years. Ideally, yes, he'd have to give it back. If only there were more incentive laden contracts like the one that Ricky Williams took, just to not be in the spotlight.
-
Remi, I'm not saying they have a recourse. What does Jamarcus care about getting cut? He's laughing to the bank to the tune of $40 million. Teams shouldn't be on the hook for that money any more than CJ should be paid a pittance given his performance.
-
Remi, so if a guy underperforms in his deal he should give money back too? Only fair, right?
-
What's the big deal on the Dez Bryant question.
If you say your dad was a pimp, and then you say your mom worked for your dad, what's the next logical question?
Should it have been worded differently? Possibly. But I found it funny to hear Mike Wilbon with his fake indignation over it. "It's irresponsible...Teams get away with everything...Players are never forgiven for anything..." Fine, then don't watch if you're so upset. Yeah, like that will happen.
How is this different from asking (out of the blue) "Do you like to wear women's underwear?" or "How was it the first time you did heroin?" -- I mean, aren't those insensitive questions too?
-
It's still April. Let's see it hold up past the All-Star Break.
-
With the Mark Henry comment, remember early on they had a ton of money invested in him. Might as well find SOME use for him and pay him rather than release him and pay him.
Shelton was meh.

Isn't this how the whole thing with Molly turned out too though, all those years ago?
