Not to beat a dead horse, but I would consider myself "Americanized." With the exception of following the national team of the country I was born, I have 0 attachment to it at this time. I've moved on. The US has given me a better life than I would have ever had elsewhere. Even before I became a citizen, if someone asked me, I would say I was American.
On the subject of the WWE, hopefully it all ends with Bret putting Vince in the sharpshooter, or it will have been a wasted 4 months.

Reason they use older groups is they are less inclined to have a wardrobe malfunction. Look at the halftime shows since that happened.
-
Same goes for wrestling, yes?

Why haven't the other leagues "blown up" in popularity?
1. MLB season is way too long...and they had a work stoppage in 1994.
2. NBA season is way too long...and they had a work stoppage in 1998-99.
3. NHL season is way too long...and they had a work stoppage 2004-05.
The last time the NFL had a work stoppage was 1987. That incredibly long period of labor peace has most definitely contributed to their popularity.
As for Jim Brown, I believe he made more on The Dirty Dozen than he ever did as a player.
We'll see how popular the NFL remains should there be a work stoppage in 2011.

I remember they held it there a few years back (when Scott Steiner pulled off the Frankensteiner, was it not)? Hopefully they break even.
-
Of course bringing on board totally unknown guys from developpment to fill the show is going to move the ratings up. Specially if they all use vampire, trekkies and other sci-fi inspired gimmick.
Well, when people complain that they've seen Orton vs Triple H/Batista/Cena or some combination of those, then perhaps seeing new people might be a draw. And considering they will have Danielson and any number of other internet darlings, those who want to see that now will have a chance to. Will it work? Maybe, maybe not.
-
Because the "fans" have been complaining that it's a watered down version of ECW? That was fine back with the originals, but that's been long done. What's wrong with a new name? There was nothing extreme about it in like forever.

RAW is 9-11 EST (unless they do the 3 hour one, which starts at 8).
It would behoove TNA to start from 8-10.
-
EST would be correct. Especially with the company being based in the east coast.

Except that pretty much everyone I can remember that's come back (at least ME's) have gotten good reactions: HHH & Jericho come to mind. Didn't Kennedy get a good reaction when he came back?
-
Could it be that they prefer him as a heel?
-
The same as between an Intercontinental and World Title?

Hog/Road Wild was always free when it was held outdoors. It gave it a different feel, but awful financially.
And as for Nitros, I remember when I went to the next to last Nitro, they were filming the last Thunder (two shows for the price of one!), and they were also giving away 1 ticket for everyone you bought.

It is easy to spend other people's money. While I won't disagree on the Nasty Boys, as a business owner I can tell you that not all expenses to make you look bigger are worth it.
I've been to two trade shows in the past, probably spending upwards of $10,000 and didn't see a single sale. It would be asinine for me to go back unless I've developed something I'll be able to sell there.
Bringing that back to TNA, I'd rather they stay in Orlando for the moment, until they figure out who they are (WWE Lite? TNA? ROH Lite?), and gauge interest outside of Orlando some other way. Once you know you'll at least break even, THEN you venture out to different markets. I would think that their old stomping grounds would be a suitable second home, but I guess they moved for a reason?

I agree in theory, but I'd like to see somebody do it just because it's outrageous to me. Right to work all the way.
As for the idea that it's Brock or Rock, both of those suggestions are absolutely ridiculous.
They have the right to work. They just can't compete against them during that time. But in the meantime he can work overseas...or as something else entirely.

The Miami Herald had a nice review of both events last night.

The fact that he became World Champ, and people cheered him and were excited doesn't mean I have to buy into him being a World Champ. Yeah, it happened, but to me, it was still meh.
-
Am I the only one who can't buy into Hardy as a World champion? One appearance in TNA doesn't dictate what his role will be either. Sure, he's a star, but the TNA audience has seen him already in TNA.
-
Has it been definitively proven that he was in the doghouse? I don't care how reputable a publication is, but I guess my distrust for all news (or "news") media extends to this as well.
-
Even if I'm not bashing him...I don't drink. So I guess I'm DQ'd anyway.
And what Lazorbeak said.

I never enjoyed Benoit or Mysterio's work (talented...yes; entertaining to me...no). Benoit was insufferable on the mic from what I remember. I can't really comment on Sheamus, since I've never seen him work (ring or mic), and I haven't seen a full episode of WWE since Jericho's return (even less of TNA).
If he's not pushed, they are devaluing the belt or not making him credible. If he main events a PPV, some people won't like that either.
As for the Rooney comparison, you might be surprised by the number of people who know of him here in the US. But fine, substitute Tim Lincecum or LeBron James and people should get the idea (even if that is probably far overstating his talent).
-
And of course, when he's not ME at the next PPV, people will complain that the belt should be featured as the ME. There's always something. Like what happened with Punk and his match with Taker.

An interesting article in ESPN relating to wrestler deaths. Focuses mostly on brain trauma/concussions. Also mentions similar NFL cases.</p>

And thank goodness for that. I thoroughly enjoyed JBL's reign. And as a fan, I remember wanting/hoping Cena would beat Lesnar at Backlash (that's when it happened right?)

Maybe as a tribute to the New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl? If not that, not quite sure.
