ECW on FX - Episode #8 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> This week's ECW on FX marks the "Go-Home Show" for the first pay-per-view of this new era, as Living Dangerously is scheduled just 72 hours from the broadcast. Despite the fact that he will compete in an ECW World Championship match against the undefeated Rhino at Sunday's event, Rob Van Dam will be in action on FX against Steve Corino, a man who he has not seen eye to eye with for some time. The leader of The Extreme Horsemen will look to throw his name into the World title scene during the match, and can give 100%, as he is not currently booked for the pay-per-view. He will instead corner the man who will corner him tonight, with Paul Burchill set to face CM Punk at Living Dangerously. ECW on FX will also witness the fallout to last week's show, as Xavier defeated Sonny Siaki in a Loser Leaves ECW match. Coming out victorious in the Steel Cage, Xavier's win saw the ranks of The Hustle depleted to just three, and Homicide is set to address the situation on the show. Homicide is said to blame "one man" for what happened to The Hustle, and will call him out on Thursday's episode. Low-Ki is also scheduled to give an update on Xavier's condition, 7 days after that brutal Steel Cage match! Also tuning up for pay-per-view action this week, Jerry Lynn will go up against Chad Collyer, the partner of Brent Albright, who he will face at Living Dangerously. Jerry Lynn has mocked the duo, particularly Brent in recent weeks, following "The Shooter" losing to Rhino in under two minutes. Jerry Lynn may be taking the two men lightly, but will be in for a rude awakening if he does, both on ECW on FX and at Living Dangerously 2007... The third match on the night sees exciting newcomer Teddy Hart take on Tony Mamaluke, in another match where he is expected to showcase his innovative style. With space still remaining on the Living Dangerously card, Teddy Hart will be looking to join partners TJ Wilson & Harry Smith, who will make their pay-per-view debuts against Bryan Danielson & Nigel McGuinness on Sunday!<hr color=black> Confirmed Matches For Episode #8 of ECW on FX! Rob Van Dam vs. Steve Corino Chad Collyer vs. Jerry Lynn Teddy Hart vs. Tony Mamaluke<hr color=black> I've been really impressed with Xavier recently, it was a few months ago when I realised he was beginning to get decent ratings despite being basically The Hustle's fall guy. Siaki had plenty of chances, and while I never gave him much of a dominant push, he didn't seem to be getting any better. The Hustle is looking a little light at the minute, so we'll have to see what Homicide has up his sleeve...

ECW on FX - Episode #6 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> Without doubt the biggest talking point going into this week's episode of ECW on FX is the Loser Leaves ECW match between Sonny Siaki and Xavier, which will take place inside a Steel Cage! Former Hustle comrades and teammates with a record of 3 wins and 3 losses, Sonny Siaki and Xavier's relationship completely changed once Xavier left The Hustle. Xavier broke out of the group following November To Remember 2006, and has been victimised by the remaining members from then on. "The Revolutionary" has flourished since leaving the group, and earned a World Tag Team Championship match with fellow former Hustle member Low-Ki at Living Dangerously 2007. The question now, with just 10 days between this match and the pay-per-view, is whether Xavier will still be employed by ECW... Also in action, and teaming for the first time since their only other outing as a duo back in August 2006 (against Sonny Siaki & Xavier, fittingly), CM Punk & Rob Van Dam will go up against C.W. Anderson & Stevie Richards, The Enforcer & The Gatekeeper of The Extreme Horsemen. Both men have had issues with Steve Corino's group in recent months, CM Punk in particular. While C.W. Anderson & Stevie Richards have more experience as a unit, the former ECW World Champions will without doubt be favourites for victory. Rob Van Dam of course has one eye on his World title shot at Living Dangerously, and will be aware of the potential threat of Rhino during the match. CM Punk on the other hand will not have to worry about his Living Dangerously opponent, as Paul Burchill is currently away "training" for that pay-per-view match, under the supervision of Steve Corino. The third match on the night puts two fairly evenly matched teams up against one another, as Brent Albright & Chad Collyer face the Stampede Bulldogs. Harry Smith & TJ Wilson have enjoyed a great start to their ECW careers, while Albright & Collyer find themselves in a bit of a rut since their defeat to The Havana Pitbulls at Guilty As Charged 2007. That is one of three highly contested bouts on ECW on FX this week, on what will go down as one of the most significant nights in their careers for some of those involved. <hr color=black> Confirmed Matches For Episode #6 of ECW on FX! Loser Leaves ECW; Steel Cage Match Sonny Siaki vs. Xavier CM Punk & Rob Van Dam vs. The Extreme Horsemen's C.W. Anderson & Stevie Richards Brent Albright & Chad Collyer vs. Stampede Bulldogs (Harry Smith & TJ Wilson)<hr color=black> Corino and Punk really pulled me out of trouble with that last segment, but I'm definitely seeing who needs to be featured more with these ratings. The top indy guys are coming in and putting in great performances, which is really good to see. A few people are getting really over in TNA too, and they could be huge signings if and when I decide to pull the trigger. They definitely put us to shame in terms of use of their women's division. I don't think I even registered Sable in NJPW, Brock has resigned so I guess it makes sense that she'll stick around with him.

Top Five Moments of ECW on FX (Episodes 1-4) Previous Show: <hr color=black> Top Five Moments of ECW on FX (Episodes 1-4) #5: Low-Ki & Xavier end the The Havana Pitbulls' undefeated run! Fittingly the first entry on the list comes from the very first match in ECW on FX history, with Paul Heyman hand selecting the two teams as the perfect picks to make the best first impression to new viewers of the show. The Havana Pitbulls are the World Tag Team Champions of ECW, and the only team to hold the titles since the company returned in February 2006. They went into the non-title contest undefeated in their 7 months with the company, their 10th match in ECW. They were shockingly handed their first loss by the first time team of Low-Ki & Xavier, two men who recently left The Hustle - a stable that all four men had been members of throughout 2006. Low-Ki & Xavier were later confirmed as the Number One Contenders to the ECW World Tag Team titles, and will face Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero, knowing that they are capable of beating the Champions. #4: The Future of ECW? While not necessarily a single moment, the first four episode of ECW on FX contained a number of smaller moments, which together told the story of the future of ECW. Debuting throughout the course of the month, Bryan Danielson & Nigel McGuinness were introduced as "World Class competitors" by the man who brought them into ECW, William Regal. Touting his scouting abilities to "The Chief of ECW", it appears that as well as Paul Heyman, Regal has some say in shaping the future of the ECW roster. Elsewhere, TJ Wilson & Harry Smith made their first appearance as a tag team, while their New Hart Foundation partner Teddy Hart made a similarly successful debut in singles competition. With young, hungry talent rising through the ranks and improving week on week, it is safe to say that future looks bright for the burgeoning ECW roster. #3: Rhino retains the TV title in under 2 minutes! The first (and as yet only) title defence to take place on ECW on FX came with no shortage of intrigue, as Rhino competed in his first singles match since becoming the Dual ECW World & Television Champion at Guilty As Charged 2007! What followed could not have been predicted, as Rhino ran through challenger Brent Albright in under two minutes, a performance influenced by some bad news the Champion had received shortly before the match. Rhino's associate Jerry Lynn has put over the "most dominant win in ECW history", and it is difficult to argue that Rhino isn't at the very top of his game, as he continues to raise the bar in the "Land of Extreme". #2: Rob Van Dam returns... One man with his sights set on knocking Rhino off his perch is the man who returned at the end of the very first episode of ECW on FX, saving CM Punk from an attack at the hands of Jerry Lynn & Rhino. Rob Van Dam briefly took the time to get revenge on Sonny Siaki - the man who had put him out of action for three months - but soon his focus was on regaining the title he was forced to give up. Upon returning to ECW himself, Rhino spent the first six months of his run campaigning for the opportunity to take back the Championships that he held when ECW went out of business in 2001. Rhino undoubtedly had a claim to the titles that he'd never been defeated for, and having succeeded in that goal, the undefeated Champion can have no complaints that Rob Van Dam feels the same. Predictably, Rhino didn't want to see Rob Van Dam handed a title shot, but had no choice as the decision was not in his hands... #1: Living Dangerously announced... blockbuster Main Event! The biggest moment of the month came in the form of an announcement from Paul Heyman, the only time he has entered the ring since ECW came to FX. While he wanted the focus to be exclusively on the in-ring talent, he had an announcement that he had to make in front of the live crowd. In one month's time, following the 8th episode of ECW on FX, Extreme Championship Wrestling will return to pay-per-view... with Living Dangerously 2007! Any huge pay-per-view needs a worthy Main Event, and Paul Heyman announced possibly the biggest match that he could have put together... Rhino vs. Rob Van Dam - for the ECW World Championship! The next month of ECW on FX will follow the build to that pay-per-view, with more matches set to be made, and Champion and Challenger both looking to gain whatever advantage they possibly can, ahead of a match which is over 6 years in the making!

Completely agree with this. Just caught up again and it's been fantastic. Every character feels spot on, and the roster continues to take brilliant shape. Mickie James is a great addition of course, and Katie Lea could potentially be a good move too now she's not with WWE.

ECW on FX - Episode #5 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> This week's ECW on FX will see Steve Corino's constant talking about what he intends to do to CM Punk come to an end, as he faces his sister's boyfriend in singles competition. That match will Main Event, and with CM Punk's recent injury issues - as well as the presence of Paul Burchill at ringside - the match could really go either way. Things have been extremely personal between the two men for quite some time, their history going beyond their careers in ECW... Elsewhere, there will be reaction to Rhino's shockingly dominant victory over Brent Albright last week, a ECW World Television Championship defence that lasted less than two minutes. While Brent Albright will not appear, Rhino is set to address what happened last week. During that show, Paul Heyman also announced ECW's Living Dangerously 2007 pay-per-view, an event that will be Main Evented by Rhino vs. Rob Van Dam for the ECW World title. Jerry Lynn was interviewed earlier in the week, and his thoughts on Rob Van Dam, Rhino and his role in ECW will all be discussed in his conversation with Joey Styles. Also in action will be Low-Ki, who goes one on one will Little Guido. Guido will be joined by Chuck Palumbo at ringside, and Xavier will corner his tag team partner. "The Revolutionary" will have to have eyes in the back of his head however, as Sonny Siaki continues to attempt to take Xavier out of ECW, on the orders of Homicide, and threat of expulsion from The Hustle! The other match on the night will see Bryan Danielson make his much anticipated in-ring debut, as he faces a fellow debutant Danny Basham. The lack of crowd has taken less away from the show than I expected. Pleasantly surprised, its actually been a nice change.

ECW on FX - Episode #4 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> This week on ECW on FX, the show's first ever title match will take place, as ECW World Television Champion Rhino defends his title against "The Shooter" Brent Albright. Albright has been a large part of the revived ECW over the last 12 months, but is yet to reach the heights of the likes of Rhino and others. Debuting with a lot of hype, largely built upon a multi-year, cross promotional rivalry with CM Punk, Brent Albright struggled under the spotlight in ECW, and many believed he wasn't cut out for the Main Event spots. While the last few months have seen him rebuild his reputation in a tag team with Chad Collyer, they too fell short at Guilty As Charged, losing a World Tag Team titles match against The Havana Pitbulls. This match offers Brent Albright a second chance at singles success, and with Rhino spreading himself thin since the pay-per-view, it may be the best time (if there is such a thing) to face the undefeated, Dual Champion of ECW... Not only will we see Rhino's first singles match and the first title match of the ECW on FX era, but Paul Heyman will also appear in front of the live crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom, the first time since the show debuted. Heyman has looked to take more of a background role as the show focusses on the young, hungry, agressive roster that "The Chief of ECW" has built, but tonight calls for him to address the audience in the ring! That's because Paul has a "huge announcement" to make, with speculation running rampant throughout the week as to the nature of his statement. Also set to be in action, The New Hart Foundation will appear as a trio, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson & Teddy Hart "sharpening their swords" against three competitors currently unsigned to ECW. Xavier will also go up against his former Hustle teammates Ricky Reyes, and looks to match Low-Ki's victory over Rocky Romero with a win of his own. Confirmed as the Number One Contenders to the World Tag Team Championships last week, Low-Ki & Xavier will also be aware of the potential threat coming from Sonny Siaki, who was issued an ultimatum by Homicide last week... As well as that, we will hear from William Regal, who is set to address Nigel McGuinness' debut victory last week, and the upcoming debut of Bryan Danielson on next week's show. Before any of that however, Steve Corino is set to "call out" CM Punk at the show's open. The leader of The Extreme Horsemen blames CM Punk for what happened to his sister Alisson Danger at Guilty As Charged, as she was hit with a Piledriver - from the apron, through a table on the outside - by Rhino. CM Punk is in a relationship with Alisson, and Corino holds him responsible for her coming out to ringside during the match. He has bizarrely refused to place any of the blame at the door of Rhino, who Corino claims was "just doing what he had to". ECW on FX - Episode #3 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> Following the events of the first two weeks of ECW on FX, a huge Main Event match has been made for Episode #3, as four former ECW World Champions compete in Tag Team action. CM Punk & Rob Van Dam have both held the title for the first time since the return of ECW, while Rhino & Jerry Lynn became Champion during the company's original run. The undefeated current World Champion Rhino will make his FX in-ring debut on this week's show, and look to prove why he's been dubbed "undefeatable" by some within ECW. Another competitor will enter the "ECW on FX" ring for the first time, as William Regal introduces Nigel McGuinness to the ECW fanbase. He will face Chad Collyer, who holds an impressive record since coming to the company, but has usually competed in tag team matches since his arrival. Collyer's first match since he and Brent Albright lost to The Havana Pitbulls at Guilty As Charged, "The Ice Man" will be keen not to lose to the newcomer, at the risk of falling further down the pecking order. The show will be opened by two men who are certainly on their way up in ECW, as Low-Ki faces Ricky Reyes, two weeks after Ki & Xavier ended the World Tag Team Champions' undefeated run in the company. Rumours suggest that the team of Low-Ki & Xavier, who had never worked as a pair before, could be in line for a shot at the Champions, and defeating one half of The Havana Pitbulls would only strengthen their claim. Rocky Romero and Xavier will be banned from ringside for this match, with the two of them set to face off next week with the same rules enforced. Speaking of The Hustle, it is believed that we will hear from Homicide for the first time since ECW Guilty As Charged 2007, as Sonny Siaki meets him in an undisclosed location... ECW on FX - Episode #2 [Preview] Previous Show: <hr color=black> Last week's debut of ECW on FX provided a number of hugely memorable moments, as Extreme Championship Wrestling went all out to show the world what they were capable of. Between Low-Ki & Xavier's defeat of the previously unbeaten Havana Pitbulls, the shocking upset in the Main Event between Jerry Lynn and CM Punk, and the return of Rob Van Dam, the debut episode gave the perfect "first impression" of what fans can expect from ECW on FX! This week, the momentum looks set to continue, with Rob Van Dam making his return to in-ring competition against Sonny Siaki. While RVD's focus last week was ECW World Champion Rhino, and his former rival Jerry Lynn, he also has unfinished business with "The Muscle of The Hustle". Three months ago, before November To Remember 2006, Rob Van Dam was injured ahead of a World Championship defence, after Sonny Siaki hit him with his car as he arrived at the building. The injuries sustained put RVD on the sidelines for the rest of the year, and forced him to relinquish the ECW World Championship. Rob Van Dam is back to regain the title he never lost, but will go through Sonny Siaki first, on his return to action! After their New Hart Foundation partner Teddy Hart made his mark last week, TJ Wilson & Harry Smith - known as The Stampede Bulldogs when working as a tag team - will face two members of The Extreme Horsemen, looking to continue the group's impressive start to their ECW careers. "The Enforcer" C.W. Anderson and "The Gatekeeper" Stevie Richards will be their opponents on the night, presenting a tough challenge for the two youngest members of the ECW roster. While ECW on FX is a brand new show, old rivalries will rage on, as The F.B.I of Little Guido & Chuck Palumbo take on former group member Tony Mamaluke, and his partner Balls Mahoney. Things are particularly personal between Guido & Mamaluke, and their intense feud will continue, with an all new audience! He's one of those like Brent Albright and Xavier who, because they didn't make it that big in real life, I'd love to make something of. I definitely thing long-term he'll be at least a solid midcarder. But I'd also like to think Trent Acid could be back one day. I'd be so much better at building a roster for this time if I had your knowledge, I'll definitely look into them before I bring them in though. I didn't know anybody could ever feel so strongly about Tony Mamaluke. I did actually look for Chilly Willy when I started, but don't think he's in the mod. Perfect timing too, because Balls & Tony are booked this week You're the expert I mean I know he's not the most exciting guy, but I've always thought he was alright. Although his ratings do suggest otherwise.

ECW on FX - Episode #1 [Preview] Previous Video: <hr color=black> Thursday February 15th 2007 marks the debut of ECW on FX!, as the “Tribe of Extreme” returns to Television for the first time in over six years. After closing its doors in early 2001, Extreme Championship Wrestling returned almost one year ago to the day, and resparked the revolution with an online exclusive show that proved that there was still a huge demand for their brand of Pro Wrestling! Some of the personnel has changed, and the company has continued to evolve, but what remains is Paul Heyman’s commitment to producing contemporary, trend-setting and envelope pushing entertainment… and that is what ECW brings to FX! Coming off the back of a successful pay-per-view, Guilty As Charged 2007, fans old and new were given the chance to catch up with all the happenings in the “Land of Extreme”, with two “preview episodes” for the new show. Now, the wait is over. Jerry Lynn made his ECW return at the aforementioned event, assisting Rhino in his Main Event match against CM Punk. As a result of his involvement, Rhino defeated Punk to take his World Championship title, becoming the “Dual Champion of ECW” in the process. He leads Extreme Championship Wrestling into this new era on FX… but there is no doubt that CM Punk will be looking for a fight! While the intent obviously isn't to feel like the first year was a waste and nothing has changed in 6 years, the Lynn/Rhino alliance and him being the TV & World Champion was something I was keen to do. Especially with Guilty As Charged 2001 being the last ECW PPV, and the same event in 2007 having a similar "landmark moment" with the new show coming. Like you say RVD out injured and his likely chase of the title when he returns, it does feel like a "what could have been", albeit with hopefully enough change that the roster feels fresh. Yeah, there definitely a few people getting closer to Punk's level within the roster, but I think there needs to be a pretty stark raising of the bar across the board. Not only because the new show has a higher minimum rating requirement, but because there's been too many poor performers who've been given far too many chances. Punk has been great, but we need 4 or 5 people on that level, and hopefully the newcomers and some of the established names can do that. I'll try and keep CyberSlam updated, at least with posts on the forum, but the idea will be to just use the people who might not be featured heavily during a certain period, but who I do see something in. Johnny Kashmere for example, is somebody who performs well, but with Trent Acid gone, I haven't yet worked out his direction. While he does appear once or twice in the first FX shows, CyberSlam's return will hopefully give me a chance to work something out with him. I also have a list of people who I want to try on the roster, people on my shortlist, but who could well be absolutely terrible when I use them. CyberSlam will give me the chance to introduce them on that show, and give me an idea of whether they're likely to be good enough. To give a few examples, Jamin Olivencia, Damien Steele and Derrick Neikirk are all WWE development people who I don't really know anything about, but who have caught my eye when browsing through the workers screen. So a mix of the people like Balls Mahoney and Tony Mamaluke, who will likely never be heavily featured on the new show, people like Johnny Kashmere who will cycle in and out of being part of the new show, and young, tryouts who will hopefully develop into something I'd feel confident putting out on the FX show. There's plenty of people I want to try out on CyberSlam, and I think I'm going to really enjoy booking it as a B-show. Obviously the show quality will probably be terrible, but I do think it gives the potential to come up with a gimmick or idea that might not have developed with just having a single 1 hour show a week.
