  1. <p>Great diary so far, I have been lurking since the beginning but finally decided to take part on predicting as well,</p><p> </p><p> Quarter Final Matches</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Mark Smart</strong> vs Cobra</p><p> <em>As much as I love Cobra he haven´t done a whole lot so far and Smart has been better in terms of ratings and thus deserves to go forward on this one.</em></p><p> </p><p> Fearless Blue vs <strong>Austin Smooth</strong></p><p> <em>Blue has been solid midcard guy much to my surprise but Smooth is one of the top guys and thus goes forward.</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bradley Blaze</strong> vs Mercutio Sleep</p><p> <em>Bit of a coin flip to me as both are still fairly new (compared to anyone else in this tournament) but have established themselves as decent midcard guys. In the end, my gut feeling says Blaze so I go with him but it could go either way.</em></p><p> </p><p> JOJI vs <strong>Ricochet Ramone</strong></p><p> <em>Another tough one to me as while other´s have said, JOJI deserves to get big wins and Ramone had a title shot just last month. However, Ramone also lost the belt via booking mistake and thus I kind of feel that he deserves some compensation for that and getting far in this tournament would in my eyes, be that compensation.</em></p><p> </p><p> Semi Finals</p><p> </p><p> Smart vs <strong>Smooth</strong></p><p> <em>Smooth goes to finals on this one as he´s above Smart.</em></p><p> </p><p> Blaze vs <strong>Ramone</strong></p><p> <em>I see Ramone/JOJI winning this one regardless of which guys will get here from the previous two matches, setting a nice main event with Smooth.</em></p><p> </p><p> Finals</p><p> </p><p> Smooth vs <strong>Ramone</strong></p><p> <em>Ramone gets the win in order to make up for that belt losr early, Smooth (and JOJI) will have their chance to shine at some point but I think this night belongs to Ramone.</em></p>
  2. This guy has a cool name and all but he might have had one too many hits on the head. Either that or that head booker´s job is bit busier than he would like. http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag421/zergon_81/Death%20frustrated_zps9zv8mknh.jpg http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag421/zergon_81/Death%20frustrated2_zpsxktizzci.jpg
  3. I´m going to say views. Replies are nice and might help motivate the writer (or at least it helps for me) but those aren´t always the best way to measure success. For example, diaries that won´t have prediction contest will likely have less replies than one that do but could still be more popular/succesful one.
  4. Yeah, those licenses can be a bit of pain. I just looked up every show Tigerkinney had reviewed here so far and found that less than 40 of them are actually ones I could watch in Crunchyroll (guess that those narrow my list down nicely though ). Not a big deal since if I really want to watch certain show, I can just watch somewhere else (for free) but still a bit annoying as the cost of Crunchyroll is actually one I´m willing to pay and would rather watch those shows there and support them instead of... well "cheating" for the lack of better word.

Really NOT what I was expecting. The opening is a lying liar! It's not cute a cuddly! Aside from that, I really enjoyed it, in that masochistic deconstructive way I enjoy dark anime. More than a few teary eyed moments. The pacing is good, building up that sense of dread and doom slowly with a few OMG moments when major points are revealed and it becomes obvious it can only get worse.</span><p><span style="color:#4B0082;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;"> Maybe I don't want to be a magical girl after all....</span></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;"> This anime carries the All Purpose Cultural Goth Girl Miko seal of approval.</span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I did watch Madoka Magica few months ago and liked it a lot too. One thing I liked about the show was that it always managed to defy my expections, I can´t count the times I thought I know were the story was going and I wasn´t right even once. Plenty of suprises and interesting plot twists and most of the main characters got fleshed out pretty well considering that it was only 12 episodes long.</p>

The ships are personas of an invading force called the Fog, who have restricted mankind from the oceans. Some of the ships have developed a 'Mental Model' which is basically a female avatar of the ship.</p><p> </p><p> Strike the Blood - mix of fantasy, with magic girls, sword wielding girls, vampires and demons, but set in a modern, almost futuristic setting. Similiar to Inuyasha if it was set modern day.</p><p> </p><p> Valvrave the Liberator - A mecha series, similiar to Gundam, but with more than enough differences to be in the genre, but not a clone.</p><p> </p><p> Also keeping up with Naruto, One Piece now that its on there, and Cardfight: Vanguard series.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thanks, Strike the Blood sounds interesting (yeah, I seem to love magic girls serie <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) so I look it up and see if I put it on my list too. Oh and Inuyasha and Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai too I guess. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Speaking of the list, I really need to watch more anime or I haven´t seen half of those currently on my list when I´m 80. I finally managed to see the end of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and I´m currently watching K (so far 6 episodes seen in three weeks which is actually above average phase for me). I guess the good news is that I now have never ending supply of anime I like to watch for the rest of my life. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

At the end of the day it's a great show (at least in my opinion) whichever order you wish to watch it in. <p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ah ok, that first episode (where they were shooting the movie) just made me think that it wasn´t chronological but guess it was more of a preview/pilot episode than anything else. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

It just sounds to me the episode you're describing, sounds like it would be about the fifth episode chronologically rather than in the original broadcast format. </p><p> </p><p> Easy way to tell: Have they played baseball yet?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> No, no baseball yet.</p>
  10. I think you meant me and not Timber. If not then... well I answer anyway I´m currently watching the first season so that´s original broadcast order, right? Might watch the second season too or at least parts of it depending on how well it can capture my interest (to be honest that second season being the first season with linear order but with new episodes slotted in still confuses me but guess I best to see for myself. ). I have to say that the first episode (the one where they shoot a movie) was the most random way I have ever seen a show start so far. That said, overall I have liked the show a lot, just watched the fifth episode and noticed that you weren´t kidding when you said that action scenes come rather surprisingly and the action scene was quite shocking (even more so to me since it involved my three favorite characteres from the show).
  11. I´m not commenting much (if any) on this one simply because I have only watched handful of anime and thus simply don´t have anything to say about the reviews (since I haven´t seen the shows yet) and the ones that I have seen have been reviewed so long time ago that it would feel pretty pointless for me to put my own opinion on them (espesially since I rarely have strong opinions in the first place). That said I have picked plenty of anime series to watch simply because of your reviews including Angel Beats, Sacred Blacksmith, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (currently watching, seen the first 4 episodes so far). As for the grading system, the current one works well enough for me. After all it just gives general idea to begin with since I seem to have little bit differend taste than what you do.
  12. Just wanted to thank you again for these reviews as it helps me greatly to pick up possible anime to watch. The only problem I have that there are too many to choose from as after I got Cowboy Bebob done I skimmed about possibly anime I might like based on your reviews and ended up with about 60 differend shows that I might like to watch. Guess I need to cut that down a little bit. Oh well, at least I won´t run out of anime to watch so guess it´s all good.
  13. Good to hear that this will continue. Since I don´t have much knowledge about anime and because my progress is pretty slow (only 1 - 2 episodes per week) is good to have some idea about the shows before I commit myself watching them and because of that I´m pretty much picking what I will watch next from your reviews. Keep up the good work.
  14. I echo Timber´s words, lots of good reviews here. I already did watch Sacred Blacksmith and first season of School Rumble and I have found quite a few other series that I will watch once I´m done with Star Wars Clone Wars animation series.
  15. I have watched the first 20 episodes of School Rumble now and to be honest I have a little bit of mixed feelings about it. I´m personally don´t like to see people getting into embarrising situations so obviously it isn´t really for me and I could use little less comedy overall. I´m also not fan of those more odd fiction things like Harima being able to communicate with animals or Yakumo being able to read peoples minds. I don´t really minds those in supernatural series but this is supposed to be just bunch of school kids with no mysterious powers. That said I have actually started to really like some of the characters, more so that I have done in some other animes that I watched recently. That´s basically that reason why I keep going with it currently though I may start another anime series to go with it as for whatever reason I have to force myself to start watching the next episode (I always enjoy watching those episodes though for some reason I just never get it started).
  16. Good reviews. I haven´t watched much anime so far (about ten different shows) but I´m wanting to see more and with not much knowledge about them I might well pick one of those reviewed shows next to go alongside with School Rumble that I started watching after you mentioned it in your diary.
