1. Great stuff today. This was really something missing from the game, not only to emulate small companies, (and the regional scene) but big ones as well. As they sometimes bring that retired over guy to get more viewers, like WWE so many times and TNA, back in the relevancy days. And even NPJW has some great examples. Jericho being the latest one. This will make games much more fun and strategic as it is actually more important and relevant to manage who actually gets and/or stays over. Hoping the Figurehead feature has a good adjustment to this, as I would not want to see that feature go away.

I can't believe it, but Veta again shocks the world and retains her title by avoiding defeat. Guess it's time to give her a new contender...

Made over 1.1M with that show, so not bad, considering i had just lost 1.2M over a financial scandal. And Rousey is now a dual Champ.

Adam says that the further from the taping the lower the rating. So am I to assume that no matter what I put on my week 4 show that it will get lower ratings than week 1 because of the time between air date and taping?

While Meltzer has more than once concluded that tapings do not hurt ratings, I understand the old school and in game reason for the penalty. But is it as simple as I've expressed above? If so that kind of stinks because no matter what my ratings will decline.

Or is it just a general handicap to my ratings?

I'm not arguing against your point, it's a pretty fair and pertinent question, but please do not use Meltzer as a source for anything. It will remove credibility out of any argument that anyone makes. I can understand the potential for losing some ratings. Live shows do attract more viewers and have no spoilers. But i also hope it is not as linear as it seems.

I've thought a lot about this and this actually happens/can happen a lot. Creating a child promotion isn't necessarily something that should only happen when absorbing a company at all.

  5. A few interesting changes today, and one that although I was expecting it, i still dislike it to oblivion.

you can now start your own company whenever you like, as long as you're unemployed. However, your reputation is used to decide how successful you are at attracting investors / backers, and so your starting money is affected by both your reputation and the challenge level you select.

Why? What is the exact point in this? People get more or less money in wrestling much more based on their actual reputation then their booking reputation. It is how it is and will probably be. There aren't that many examples of someone getting the bucks because of their amazing booking, rather than from who they know or who likes them, or even as they perform as workers.

Even to get a booking job it has been working that way forever. You don't get a booking job usually because you booked 100 successful cards, you get it because you are already a big star with reputation of your own outside of booking, or because, even being relatively unknown, you know someone in a good place or position that either sees some creative potential or gives you a handout.

Booking reputation has always seemed like an unneeded stat to me. There shouldn't be the need for 2 stats. Characters already have their own rep, and that is the only one they should need, the one that should be affected by their performance (including booking performance) and the one that limits/increases how much money they should have available.

IMO, things were more bearable before this particular change. Why should I be Hulk Hogan, for example, and want to simulate starting a big company cause my big name would draw some investors and see it hindered by the fact that my booking reputation is 0 at the start of the game?

It's a small change but one I truly truly dislike. Anyway, those are my two cents. The free pictures change and the rest of the reputation features look cool, though.

Experience needs to be earned. Pro wrestling has an history of being about spam booking. No problem from my perspective.

  7.

Decisions to make

I’m tempted to set every fighter who is set to debut after Jan 1997 to have a potential of zero. Therefore it is calculated when they are generated. This means that every game will be different, and add some unpredictability which I think is a good thing. I don’t want to end up with George St Pierre dominating every save I have, sometimes it would be nice to see him end up as a journeyman.

Just my opinion, it is worth what it is, but don't do that. I would not play that mod. While it might give more randomness, it will probably give too much randomness for a real word mod.

Edit: Also, I know how much controversy this has sparked when there was all the TEW rule change debate, but if someone doesn't reply or in any way works on a mod for some time, it should probably be freeware at some point. Though it is not, so I don't know, realistically speaking, if you will ever be able to get the permissions you need for the release. Which is a shame, this is a great period to play.

  8.

I'd have liked an option of booking whatever I want whenever I like, then dragging and dropping them into whatever order I like.

However I've always done opener - end. So it being an option is fine by me.

Drag and drop would be perfect.

  9.
Still on my Bellator save, haven't had time to play in the last few days, hope to do so today.

I'm wondering if i should build a small broadcaster to cover the areas i have no coverage in and the ones i'm about to lose contracts on. It would allow exposure and some income, instead of having to rely on youtube and sites like that. ALthough they give more pop gain, they also give no money, so id don't mind waiting to grow those areas more slowly, what i need right now is profit.

Thing is i made a ton of roster investment and have been daunting the UFC by stealing their top guys and even created some new weight classes for women. (Might create more) so i don't have much money and i was hoping to buy out PLMMA or whatever it is called soon as a child company cause they are probably close to bankrupcy. Decisions, decisions.

  10. Nice little change today. Expected, but still nice. I hope there is more click reducing incoming, while we're at it. Do a weekend Entry Adam, the people wants it. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> It seems the trend is to reduce the amount of clicks wasted and that is one of the things that can turn people away from the game after a while, so while small, I believe it is a great change. Looking forward for what is to come.

McIntyre got heat and Ambrose and lost the match to put over McIntyre. Sets up McIntyre vs Roman for Mania or a tag match involving Ambrose and Corbin.

You could argue it was in poor taste but a head injury is far different from leukemia.

I'm not saying it was leukemia, but given all the troll comments of...well, trolls that unfairly accused the man of faking a serious condition, one would think WWE would avoid the tasteless set up. Don't get me wrong, McIntyre destroying Reigns and Ambrose was great, made him look strong and opened the way for a Mania feud, i just hope they can avoid headaches for a while. It would be cool <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Roman is red hot right now, they don't need all the unnecessary "overdoing" that they love to do. But yeah, other than that, looking forward to the actual feud. And the swerve was cool.

  12. Yes I hope incentives play a much bigger role in negotiating. Would like to see new ones added along with promises and clauses. I don’t want to just generically offer the highest amount of money. On the other side, I would like to see workers demand certain things. I don’t think Kenny Omega would even talk to WWE unless creative control was given before a price is even negotiated.

And if pushes are truly gone, maybe more emphasis on promising roles like “major star” Icon” “gatekeeper” and things like promising to keep someone strong (keep momentum or perception above a certain number) or promise main event (book no lower than the second to last match on a card)

I agree. And if they are totally gone, the new system needs to be adjusted to make these ideas work.

I'm talking about how they booked him last night with the headaches and all of that. Pretty much the opposite of what they should even be doing. Why would you assume any of what I said would imply such an idiotic idea? Not only am I a Roman fan, I also know they would not try to fake such a thing. Everyone saying at some point it was a work is not even worth my time responding.

I am talking about the booking of last night. I hope it was something they do not pursue further or simply attribute it to the claymores he took. The whole "Is Roman healthy enough to fight" is something they should not even get close to as a storyline. Not like that.

  14.

Yeah, letting unemployed workers get more opportunities to work is a welcome addition.

Question: will the naming for independent shows in any way be modable?

It's one of the most important factors, but number of dates the workers have to work is probably just as important to them.

Very true. While money is still a big deal I feel nowadays some workers care much more about dates, workload, pushes, booking and perks than they used to. I would love to see this tied to personalities and reflected on what we can negotiate.

  15.

I think by default it offers a contract to match their base pay rate, but I'm not sure how it sets the number of fights, etc. I use it all the time with a set of custom contract templates. The templates can be set to be automatically offered to fighters whose base pay falls in a certain range. For example, I have one set to offer a $30,000 contract to any fighter whose base pay is between $10,001 and $20,000. I have templates to cover the entire range of potential base pay. When bidding wars occur, assuming your settings are set to notify you, you'll receive an email indicating a rival has made or modified a bid. You can then check how the fighter is considering the bids and adjust your offer accordingly if needed. Usually, with a template set to offer them 1.5x their base pay, 5 or more guaranteed fights, 100% win bonus, and at least 15% other bonuses, I see the "yours is the only offer he/she is seriously considering" wording in the negotiation screen even when rivals modify their bids. This is with the default setting for rival-bid aggressiveness. Using auto renewals with full delegation has saved me countless hours of clicking. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Thanks for the answer. I don't like the risk of losing a fighter, or getting a bad contract locked, and never really got into a save where i had the chance to try it. Which is unusual to me, as I love to try out all the features every time I can. But your answer was very helpful and I will try it out when I can. Many thanks.

  16.
So Roman Reigns finally becomes the fan favorite they have always wanted and what do they do with it? A sickness storyline? Yeah, this man will be getting booed out of the building soon due to Vince's booking. Only Vince to make someone that survived cancer get hated again, but this story will do Roman no favours.

There seems to be no plans for Ambrose regarding Mania, so the Shield reunion might have been his last PPV win/match. No matter how much WWE tries to make it look like they got it all figured out by talking about his contract, that will only go so far unless he actually signs a new one. Thoughts?

Fastlane was entertaining for a pre Mania ppv filler and it did its job. I was entertained. Shield main eventing makes sense, given it could have been their swan song. But looking at the booking of some of these storylines...By gawd, whoever said less was more should know that isn't always the case. WWE keeps doing lesser and lesser meaningful and non explained stuff and it is atrocious.

Also Ronda calling WWE a carny fake show and saying she will destroy Becky and that 3rd chick no one really knows why is in the match in the first place makes no sense. So she will legitimately destroy 2 fake wrestlers at a fake match? That is her selling point? Seems legit. Take my money now...smfh.

I also think if it wasn’t possible he would have shut down the conversation already and let people know that it still wasn’t possible. I don’t really mind the 48 week system, I generally stick to a regular schedule and the 4-week structure works with that.

Having said that, I’d love a proper calendar, it’d be much more immersive. Like someone else said, the option to say an event must be on a certain day of the week, and then either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, last (which would be 4th or 5th depending on month) week of the month, or a specific date regardless of day, that’d be a nice touch.

I guess we wait and see. It’d probably be the biggest feature reveal due to the history that’s gone with it.

I respect your opinion but there are better and more important stuff to capitalize on. So if Adam is changing he should just already make an entry about it. It would be an important change, but I sure hope not the biggest it is gonna get, or the game would be disappointing.

On a different note, I do hope the contract negotiating part is improved. Money still is the most important factor in general that moves workers, but, contrary to the attitude era, workers seem to care a lot more about push, creative, title wins and other perks. The rise of AEW is showing this. Or situations like the revival, ambrose, Maria and mike, Batista wanting to return only to face HHH, the usos apparently trying to force their way out after some promises of good booking by AEW and some rumoured matches with The bucks. And so on.

  18. I hope the penalties are reasonable even in modern eras, as taped shows do well even today, just not as well as live. Live shows are indeed a commodity, so it is good to know it is adjusted to eras. Nice addition. What is the situation on block taping limits though? I also could not find a clarifying answer. I would love to be able to block tape months of programming in 2 or 3 taping days, as TNA does, for example, or entire seasons like Lucha in a short span of time, etc.

Broadcasting got a nice overhaul that I believe was much needed.

Personally, I'd like to see alliances reworked.

I'd also like to see AI companies just being a bit harder overall. For example, no worker actually gains much popularity when working for another company. I just saw Kobashi at 95 popularity in Japan lose to someone with 78 popularity and neither of them moved a point. Just makes it hard for them to replace older stars.

The website is my biggest pet peeve. Make it improved EWR style or I will be disappointed. I would also love to see match reports return. And Sophie. Yeah, Adam did clarify that.
