More information might be needed. While this certainly creates the chance to replicate organic stuff and include everyone in the same system, parts of the old system should have been kept. Especially to do promises on contract negotiations as regarding to push.

But overall I love the concept. If it is well implemented it has potential. We were in need of a good entry like this one seems to be, or has the potential to be. I know things are vague now in most entries, but that is normal considering the stage at where the game is. Looking forward to see how this works.

  3. Bellator...our slogan is: "Why did we book this?"

My undefeated 10-0 champ fell to Veta Arteaga in what was suppose to be a filler "make-her-look-strong" match for the champ. Why did I even book this? Thing is, Veta is now real hot and with a few challenges. Instant rematch for Macfarlane or do I risk Veta losing the title to someone else before they can meet again? Decisions, decisions...

  4. Yes, it did work. Put a select few ratings on 100% asked him and he wanted to come back. Then but them back where they were.

Btw I just saw I had regeneration on. Should I have it on at this point in the default set up or should I wait a few years. Any experiences?

Nice. What ratings exactly did you tinker with? Would love some inside on this. I always play with regeneration on, but that's my personal preference.

I mean it's fine it's just very unfortunate. 6.

Yeah that would be awesome if you can make a pitch to induce someone to come out of retirement and better your chances the more you bid. But to keep it realistic some should just be done and never look back.

And what exactly would I have to do? Right now he says he can't compete at the level he needs to... anyway I can force him out of retirement for one or two more fights? Btw don't know if that means anything but when looking at his ratings theres just the commentating stuff coming up.

I think that's decline related? Not sure. I think when it's purely physical they say so. I would edit his age to like 10 or 15 years younger and put his physical condition at a full 100% and see what he says.

  7.

Is there any chance of getting Raul Hughes out of retirement in the default set up? Just had an amazing PPV where the LHW Titel was the Main Event and he faced LeToussier in the Co-Main for the #1 Contender Spot. Both really awesome fights, Hughes got the TKO W after just 20s with a body punch... and now he leaves with a garanteed titel shot on the horizon. I really would love to see him compete for that titel one last time would be a great story.

So is there any chance and when are they thinking about reentering the sport. On the same day at least he had no interest of coming back. :/

This is why I hope there is a future for this game series. There is still improvements that could be done and this version is awesome, meaning there is potential for even better. One thing that needs to be addressed is this. Fighters will always come back if the check is good enough. Here we just listen to a "no, thanks" and we can't even counter or offer anything.

To try and help you out, there isn't much you can do, depending on what he says when he refuses. If it's about age or physical issues, you can always edit those in the editor until he comes back and then put them as they were again if you want to. Other than that, there isn't much more one can do. You can always try later, but dunno how effective that actually is.

But the realistic possibility of injuries coming out of angles would also be neat.

Which is a cool change. I hope a few more options get added. As for bumping, like someone mentioned, as well as riskier things, i hope it is easier to convince workers to do that with big chunks of money, or other promises, like real life. There should be actual promises made whenever possible and consequences to it so we could actually feel we are in a world where, despite evolving, what we did in the past actually impacted something and changes the views of someone about us.

  10. Love today's entry and thanks to Adam for the neat and clarifying response about contracts. Kudos. I do like to see that angles will be much faster to book. I only pray we are not the ones solely choosing success/defeat. Rather we should state our intentions (with some restrictions so we don't spam success in all angles for all workers, etc) and have the crowd decide how it goes. It would be awesome to be able to replicate more crowd organic moments in game, for example.
  11.

I think we have received several big news pieces. The ability to control developmental promotions. The contract changes -- even if you want more -- are big news -- the overhaul of company relationships -- big news. Event Intent. Attributes. Company sizes. All are big changes that effect how the game is played. What do you mean by big?

The only real thing with game changing status to most players was the Dev company thing. I personally see the changes announced and what they do and how they impact. I was saying that from what I've seen so far from conversations, people want something juicy to get the hype train rolling. Personally, though? Disappointed with the contract changes, as I really expected some of the things in my post implemented. In a perfect world, all of them, but at least stuff like date numbers on contracts and the financial aspect being realistic with the contract being an actual downside with bonuses. And so on.

Too soon to say how good the game will be, but I am looking forward for it, as I like most things announced so far.

  12.
More clauses and willingness of workers to actually ask them, as well as not being so robotic and predictable in negotiations; the date system used irl contracts, as well as the downside system used irl contracts that pays more to workers the more they work, as they have appearance bonuses; The maintenance of the possibility of workers being able to ask to renegotiate deals, but in a very more adjusted and rare capacity, as it actually happens, and rarely succeeding.

All of the above is needed into the TEW series. I don't know about how easy it would or wouldn't be to code, so won't comment on that, but as a fan of the game, this needs to happen. Every single thing discussed in these last couple of threads and summarized here would be epic and would add to realism and to the experience of playing.

On a personal note, from all the talks i have daily about the game, we also need a big feature announcement soon to prevent the crowd from getting stale. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I know it's early and the game won't likely release for a year, so the good stuff needs to be released at the right time, but right now we need something big. Imo, having these things incorporated would be huge.

Maybe it's already late in development to include them, but it is worth mentioning that if it was possible it would be big. And we need a big news to avoid some staleness. One can dream. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

  13. The renegotiation feature was ridiculously ok in favor of the workers. Very few times will workers get away with such demands irl when on a written deal, but sometimes they will because the need to keep them happy is there. Nash and Hall were offered new and bigger contracts with WCW 1 week after they signed a massive deal with the promotion. As the system was before? No thanks. Removing it completely, also no thanks. More clauses? Seems like stating the obvious at this point, given how many times we asked for it in the past. It is what it is. But it seems like a nice good step in that direction.

I read handshakes has come and work for us thing, where people can go against their word.

I still would hope to see

- (as mentioned by someone above) AI contract offers more varied and not just 3 year contracts

- buy out of contracts. When someone agrees 6 years with AI there’s no turning back, in reality many people have moved while under contract.

- (also mentioned above) contracted to so many dates

- contracted to certain PPV + so many shows. Eg 5 shows plus wrestlemania, means you can put them on raw 5 weeks before.

- more demands for things such as % of merchandise. A worker who is selling millions in merchandise isn’t going to stay for 0% of sales.

- more contact clauses. Eg win certain belt by certain period (this can also be done verbally) you sign someone and promise them the world title legally then you can see in trouble. You sign someone to a written but promise the title verbally, you can get away with not giving them title and they might leave, or you keep promising them.

All of this is much needed and I'm seriously disappointed it did not happen in this game. There seems to be improvement in the new system and steps in a good direction, but all of the above would be much needed and help simulate so much better. Not just reality itself, but any scenario. Here is wishing they might still be added.

A max cap on dates has been as much of a factor in contract negotiations since at least the 90's.

Will there be a change to how the AI behaves when signing workers? As it is now, I often see AI companies sign even road agents to 3-4 year written deals.

Agreed on the dates. This is why workers are able to sit out contracts and should be used in the game for a long time now.

Everything involving house shows should be auto by default with all the customizations we want being fully optional, so that everyone can play at their own pace.

There should be more we can do when their answer is outright "No." Very rarely in real life does a fighter ever refuses to comeback. Mostly for money, let's face it, but there are sometimes other reasons and there should be several incentives available to at least try and persuade them. And maybe if we failed at some point in time, maybe later we could eventually convince them. And convince them again after their next retirement. (Depending on their personalities and goals.) It is very often that we see fighters "overstaying their welcome" (hello Dan Severn, still fighting at sixty years old, or Ken Shamrock at 54...and so on.) and even those who retired before they were dragging themselves to the cage, like the two cases mentioned before, end up returning. (Liddell as an example out of the top of my head.) Then there are others who have returned multiple times, like Tito Ortiz. I think he's on his 3rd comeback now?

So fighters could sometimes be the ones approaching us for a return. Either for a great fight they have in mind, one last run, or "monsters in the basement" like Rocky. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Or for one last huge payday, or just to milk it as long as they physically can and make more money, which is always a good motivator.

All of this would obviously depend on their goals, personalities and of course, not everyone would be willing to drag themselves forever, some wouldn't even come back. But let's face it, most probably should overstay their welcome, (sometimes returning even on their own initiative) especially if a company with deep enough pockets for their needs comes calling.

This is a suggestion I did in the WMMA 5 Forums and i hope it is taken into account here. No one ever really retires from wrestling, so it works the same way as MMA or even worse. So I hope we are able to do more than just asking the question and getting a no. Not just for retirement, but for every other thing. There is always a chance to get a yes, always. There is always a price. Either money or other perks, but an owner pretty much always gets his yes. The cost would obviously depend of the situation. And there could be stakes for it. If badly treated, a worker will be less likely to hear you in the future. If for example you do a promise in these negotiations and fail to live up to it.

If it goes well, the worker would be more receptive in the future, etc and so on. Because if it is just asking something, getting a no and end of story, it becomes frustrating and unrealistic. It bothers me in WMMA when I can't get a 49 year old Liddell to return, just to give an example and there is nothing I can do. This would both add replay value and better simulate reality where sometimes hell freezes over and Bret Hart returns to the WWE. That there is a mighty example of the never say never in action.

Other than that, great feature today. Love the potential.
