  1. But it's preset and I can't fine tune it? In an alternate universe, minor things would be changed. For example, in early 90s mods, I lower the WWF comedy from medium to low. Can I do that now?
  2. My apologies, Historian. I had the thread loaded an hour before and was reading through the last page before your post was made. You won't hear another mention of it from me.
  3. It's absolutely insane that one cannot edit the product of their wrestling company. WWF/E has changed their product so much since 1984, it would be impossible to start from then and have a realistic simulation/mod game. How could this not be included?
  4. Madden EA developers have been shipping out terrible game after terrible game for 12 years now. Instead of owning up to what they have done, they always claim they've fixed their problems and ship out a new game the next year. Guess what happened? Madden sales have steadily been on the decline and nobody trusts anything that EA Development team says anymore. This is why I respect you so much, Genadi. Thank you for saying (in a polite way, I may add), what a lot of us are thinking.
  5. One storyline nobody has mentioned that I do fairly often is injury angles. A wrestler will kayfabe injure another for 2 or 3 months, usually to help get the injurer over and give the other who I don't have a story for a break. Then when he returns, you have a hot feud for a few months.
  6. <p>I played the crap out of EWR. To this day I wish I knew how to take that code and improve on it. Maybe a more nostalgic reason more than any.</p><p> </p><p> I played the TEW 05 and 08 demos but never bought them. The fun of EWR wasn't there for me. Finally I bought TEW 10 when it came out and have bought each new game within a week of release. </p><p> </p><p> TEW 20 has me hyped more than any other release.</p>
  7. Release Costs Release costs have been rejigged. Firing someone who is under a written contract with monthly pay still involves paying them compensation of what they're owed, but it is now capped at six months' worth of wages at the maximum. People under a written deal who are paid per appearance are now compensated on their downside agreement and are again capped to a maximum of six months' pay. This change has been made to make firings / "spring cleanings" more viable as you're actually saving money in the long run rather than just saving yourself from bonus payments as you would in 2016. Really excited about this. It caused me to hang on to so many worthless talent in '16 because there was no benefit to firing them. I can actually have a reasonable roster size now!
  8. Ugh... Can I pick a time? Punk's leadup to MITB vs Cena. The last really cool thing WWE did. The pipe bomb promo, throwing Triple H under the bus, breaking the 4th wall and having his mic cut off legite had everyone wondering what was real and what was kayfabe at the time. Then he goes into MITB in his home town of Chicago where Cena gets booed and Punk gets cheered (entrance gives me goosebumps). Punk wins. McMahon and Laurantis yell for Del Rio who tries to cash in but is unsuccessful. Punk grabs the title and blows Vince a kiss goodbye. In between we had negotiations with Vince where Punk said things like I want my ice cream bars back! I just wish they would have kept Punk off tv for longer. They brought him back too early. The build to that moment couldn't have been done more perfect.
  9. I loved my WWF 1987 game. Dropped Hogan as the face of the company and pushed Savage into that role. Gave Andre a run with the strap. Had Dusty as my main heel with a cowboy gimmick (think mainstream Stan Hansen gimmick). Hogan ended up getting fired and Dibiase is becoming a major star
  10. EWR introduced me to Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe and Nigel Mcguiness. I'd always end up signing the 3 and Danielson and Mcguiness would put on 5 star matches.
  11. That's a hilarious storyline!! Michael Cole being the only one who cared is great!! LMAO!!!
  12. If you blacklist hidden gems will the game put different hidden gems in?
  13. I was wondering why all my 2/3 falls ended with someone winning 2-1
  14. I'd mercilessly bury him so hard. Just ask Paul Orndorff in my 1985 WWF game <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  15. Is there an authority figure like Vince McMahon only more of a comedy authority with slightly better technical skills? That'd be me. (I'd say a lot less money but that would eliminate everyone <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )
  16. I'm getting really antsy to play and I've never done a RTG game (or even know really how it works other than starting at the lowest possible size). How long does it on "average" take a RTG game to hit cult or national? I'm thinking a 1983/1985 real world game would be a lot of fun if I could hit cult sometime in early 2000s just to see how a game world plays out and be a legit 3rd/4th option to WWE/WCW/ECW. I'd also like to book from 83 on as WWF however I feel instead of following what happened in the real world. Also taking a shot at the Cornellverse sounds fun for the first time in ever, although I'd probably just start with the top company and sign whoever I wanted.
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="retrogamerpa" data-cite="retrogamerpa" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I really thought things were going to start turning around. WCW fell to National level, leaving me the only International company. At the same time The Giant's contract with WCW came up. After a long bidding process I won out and he will be starting for me on July 1st. About a week, maybe two after that, however, WCW bounced back to International and signed away the British Bulldog, who I had plans for. I have 17 days left to use Bulldog to put over guys like Edge, Brian Pillman and Psycho Sid. On the bright side, the plan is to make Owen Hart, now free from his main event tag team with Bulldog, the next contender for the WWF Championship currently held by Brian Pillman.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Sounds like a fun save and agree with Zero on your plans with The Giant. </p><p> </p><p> I want to know who you had win king of the ring out of those up and comers!</p>
  18. <p>Book your angles a minimum of 6 minutes and choose the option that will get them the best grade.</p><p> </p><p> For example, if a wrestler has A menace and C charisma, a menace option will be much better than an entertainment choice. </p><p> </p><p> Likewise if you have a female with D charisma but A sex appeal, put her in sex appeal angles. </p><p> </p><p> This will get your workers over and make your angle grades the best possible.</p>
  19. Ah, okay. That makes more sense than how I originally interpreted it. It sounds like Daniel Bryan's "yes movement" rise to popularity will be much more easily replicated with the new system, which has me excited for it! Thanks for your response, Adam.
  20. Something I still dont understand is the new push system and how it will work differently. It sounds opposite of what it should be but maybe I'm not understanding correctly. For example, when I start a 1991 wwf game, one of the first guys i push is Bret Hart. He starts that game as a midcarder, but right when I start the game, hes at least an upper midcarder and being pushed like one with his matches. On the other hand, Sgt Slaughter starts out as a main eventer but I never see him as more than a midcarder being used to get other talent over.
  21. I guess a work around would be to have the wrestler you want the biggest boost to win then book a 1 on 1 match afterwards in which you have them draw.
  22. Does nobody remember the month long build up to Razor Ramon? Maybe longer than that. He cut long promos every week. Who's to say 1-2 months of entertainment based promos woildnt get someone over enough to squash a few more and rise fast? And look at Undertakers first matches. He beat a bunch of nobodies besides Jimmy Snuka twice. Heck he lost to Tito Santana. Then got thrown into a program with Hogan. http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/the-undertaker-124.html?year=1991
  23. Undertaker didnt instantly rise though. Promos and squash matches were there. Same with Razor. There were so many promos leading to his debut.
