So I've got a problem. I signed a deal to do Tour Highlights with someone in my BCG save, and cancelled my current deal. But the new deal is still not active. I tried to cancel it, but the game won't let. I also see no way to change that in the editor. Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

Running a test run for a modification on a file I'm using when this pops up "In tragic news, it has been announced that Swoop McCarthy, 29, was killed last night after falling into a vat of liquid nitrogen and consequently shattering into tiny frozen pieces." Well, Damn.

No, thank you for the mod! As much as I love the 97 C'Verse mod, and am enjoying what I've played of the 77 mod, the 18 mod is just so detailed and expansive, and the changes for all the companies is so interesting. The huge changes to NOTBPW and there rise to prominance, having TCW actually gaining momentum with smart booking while USPW's locker room starts becoming toxic and SWF is in such a weird position with Bruce booking. The Japanese scene being completely turned on it's head, with INSPIRES and WLW running the show with BHOTWG and especially PGHW just trying to hold everything together. OLLIE seemingly starting to put it together, while SOTBPW keps thriving through all sorts of bad luck. Just everything flows so perfectly with a time of growth. The C'Verse 2020 edition jut feels so..... lacking by comparison. Which isn't a shot at Adam, as he had plenty of other stuff to work with. But I just can't imagine playing 2020 over 18, with maybe the exception of BCG being fun. I'm actually working on setting up a version of your save were NOTBPW and TCW align and form a Consortium with a unified goal of securing "pure" wrestling's dominance worldwide. The idea would be founded by Victoria Stone in her attempt to keep pushing boundaries of what's possible for the company. TCW joins in by a promise that they would have exclusive rights for Action Figures of all companies involved, expanding there marketplace (It also gives them the benefit of selling Joanne Rodriguez toys, cause course), and is then aligned with OLLIE (playing to Lopez's vanity by convincing him this is his chance to make him look like the best owner in Mexican wrestling history), PGHW (who join due to desperation, as they would have NOTBPW's and TCW's revenue added to potentially save themselves), and both 5SSW and AAA (5SSW for stability, AAA for the sheer money potential), and then they make one big "Wrestling Subscription Service" that they work together in to expand there growth. Sorry for the divergence in discussion, but god I love this mod and what you can do with it.

This, plus a side helping of 77 and the 2018 C'Verse mod which might be the most interesting mod for a TEW game ever. I was hoping the game would take things in an interesting relation and it was.... eh. Doesn't help I was a huge NOTBPW fan and the CWA just feels... wrong.

There competition is basically the previous games in the series. The biggest problem this game has had is convincing the established player base it’s worth paying 35 dollars over the game they already have and like.

I’m not sure that’s really accurate, I mean they were a super hardcore fed, but it’s a company that employee the New Wave, Eisaku Kunomasu and Art Reed, as well as had a Bryan Holmes world title reign. Pablo Rodriguez also worked there. DAVE was very much the closest product the C-Verse had to prime ECW as any fed ever got. If you are looking for pure deathmatchy style company, at least if we go by the 97 mod, it would actually be XFW that would be your fit. As for the question at hand, I will be hanging back to see how the game is working in a couple months. The interface drives me up a wall in comparison to 2016, and as a pure Cornellverse player... I just do not care for the direction it’s at right now, and vastly prefer the Cornellverse 2018 mod (as well as the 77 and 97 ones) for my current play style. The improvements are nice, but they stuff that I always liked about previous additions have changed, and the vast majority of them feel like they got worse. So I’ll check back at a later date, but for now, totally cool with just sticking with 2016 for the moment.

Another great shout. If people think Mark DuBois is a great example of a great wrestler who self sabotaged to nothing, The Hype was more talented and a much darker story.

Gotta be honest, as a big NOTBPW fan for over a decade... man I do not like the CWA. The story of them makes so little sense to me, and I just can’t get into what basically feels like a SWF/TCW cross. I was super excited to try to play a NOTBPW that mostly failed to replace its big stars, and would just be McFly and Bloodstone with more unproven names. But it feels like playing SWF to me right now. I hope everyone else is having fun with them, but the few times I’ve tried in the demo they have left me cold.

From a 97 player who has loved the Cornellverse for years, my main points would probably be: Nemesis vs. Tommy Cornell match. Hollyweird. Just a complete rundown of the giant wrestling company ran by the 16 year old before it eventually became TCW would be fascinating. The Streets Family (won’t be known as current players, but they were super interesting in 97) And my big one... The National Day of Lucha: Holy Shit this one would be it and I’m surprised there hasn’t been a co-op journal covering this. From the Cornell verse wiki “In 2005, the Mexican government underwent a powershift, and when it was reforming, it learned that many contracts of Mexican wrestling promotions weren't legal. Thus, all contracts were null and void. With the future of lucha libre at stake, SOTBPW, MPWF, and OLLIE teamed up to hosted a large event in September 2005, where a large draft took place. Many stars such as Phoenix I and Champagne Lover stayed with their original homes. After the event, all promotions signed a non-aggression pact. However, once SOTBPW began to grow, it ended it's non-aggression pacts and began to raid OLLIE and MPWF.“ Man, imagine the stories to be told, and the regret that this would have led too. Imagine actual breakdowns 15 years later of the 3 big Lucha promotions, and how SOTBPW ended the peace between the 3 and effectively ran 1 out of business and the other to the brink. That is the show I want.

The Mr. Lucha thing can come down to “they put the mask on someone too green and not nearly of high enough quality to earn the moniker, and they turned on it”. It was also someone with no connection to Mr. Lucha. Mr. Lucha III, on the other hand, was hand chosen protege who was A: talented beyond his years and B: Clearly an elite level talent in waiting.

Just wanted to add this is up with the 1997 mod for the C’Verse for my favorite as well. Just wanted to thank you for all the work on it!

If we are talking best overall talents in the game (as in, guys who can do any style) as opposed to just “who are the most over”, I think you can make a decent case that in 2020 the best overall wrestler is Gino Montero. I haven’t broken everything down completely, but he is an exceptional talent at this point. Other names that might fly below the radar are PGHW talents like Kozue Kawashima, Massey Ugaki, Bussho Makiguchi, Chojiri Kitoaji (super spelling screwup probably, and Magnum Kobe. Mr Lucha III is an amazing talent in OLLIE, and BCG also has 5 elite talents in Funkaoshi, Torino, Okamoto, SUKI, and the crazy good Furusawa.

<p>My boys tend to all fit a formula. I want someone with really good basics, consistency, and selling, with low star quality. Guys that can grow into there other stats either as a tag team specialist or staple of the undercard. Basically think that I’m always looking for a future Robert Oxford, Joel Bryant, or Bryan Holmes.</p><p> </p><p> Some Examples:</p><p> </p><p> US: The Ring Generals. Name a fed in the US, Canada, Japan, and even Mexico, I’ve signed the Generals there and let them do there thing. They are kind of the type of guy I hope the others develop to be.</p><p> </p><p> Canada: Chuck Dorrance and Alister Shufflebottom: One of my NOTBPW saves in 2016 featured me signing both, and them working on my B show every week, putting people over. They basically both were running losing streak gimmicks, until a year and a half later I finally pulled the trigger and had them face each other. It went to a 15 minute draw. They then feuded with each other for like 3 months, literally culminating in a cage match on my B show. Shufflebottom finally got his win. Then, just to be weird, I had Dorrance win the Television title with a fluke roll up 2 weeks later. Was fun.</p><p> </p><p> Mexico: El Militico Jr. He barely counts. He’s just great, and could be an amazing top guy in multiple promotions.</p><p> </p><p> Japan: **** I can’t remember his name on the spot, but the GCG student who wasn’t loyal to them in 2016. Shimizu maybe? Yeah, another basics master.</p>

I feel like we have this discussion every game and haven’t seen it pop up yet: what new workers in the game seem like they will be major standouts in the future?
