  1. 5SSW Queendom Tour #6 2020 Pre-Show: Rika defeated Machiko Ishimura defeated Thea Davis and Eri Sato In an exceptional match, Shiori Jippensha, MAYA and Megumi Nakajima defeated Unstoppable Tai, Sae Akutagawa and Etsuko Arihyoshi in 20:22 when Shiori Jippensha submitted Unstoppable Tai with a Jippensha Leglock. In an exceptional match, Yu Hashimoto defeated Talia Quinzel in 19:43 by pinfall with The End Game. In an exceptional match, Romi Yamato drew with Yuma Maruya in a 30 Minute Iron Man match in 30:00 at three falls each. Overall Rating: 67 A stellar show from 5SSW tonight. That Iron Man match was a doozy, unfortunately Romi didn't go over, but I'm sure she got a rub for going 30 minutes and drawing with the 5SSW Champ. According to the Dirt Sheets, it was Yuma who again suggested putting Romi over, but it looks like the booking team still isn't quite ready to have their champ losing just yet.
  2. Quick update on last night's report. It seems Miwako did not suffer a broken toe as previously reported but a BROKEN TAIL BONE. That's the last time I review a show after too many vodkas. Looks like we're due for a new All-Asian champion sooner than expected.
  3. 5SSW Queendom Tour #5 2020 Pre Show: Monster Ishimura went over Kaori and JMB in a dominating performance. The bout had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. It seems 5SSW is discovering how to book Ishimura properly, and I for one look forward to what they do with such a monstrous woman. Lily & Rose went over the new team of Thea Davis and Ochiyo Ilijima after Thea Davis miscommunicated with her partner. The bout featured SUPERB wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. Despite the loss Ochiyo and Davis showed excellent chemistry teaming together, the partner miscommunication spot seems like a method of keeping a new team strong despite the loss. Main Show: In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Otsune Tsumura, Romi Yamato and Etsuko Arihyoshi defeated HEART Saitoh, Eri Sato and Rika Tsujimura in 20:29 when Romi Yamato pinned Rika Tsujimura with a Yamatotal. -Good match. Yamato is really milking that new hot move of hers. In a superb match, Kaede Sugiyama and Yukiko Matsumara defeated MAYA and Machiko Matsuda in 20:07 when Kaede Sugiyama pinned Machiko Matsuda with a Spinning Arm Breaker. -The match was good, but MAYA and Machiko have terrible chemistry with each other. We may not see them teaming up again anytime soon. In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Miwako Katsukawa defeated Paige Croft in 19:38 by pinfall with a Katsukawa Bomb. Miwako Katsukawa makes defence number ten of the 5SSW All-Asian title. -A strong showing for the current All-Asian title holder and the challenger, though it appears Miwako may have suffered a broken toe during the match. In an exceptional match, Megumi Nakajima, Maki Yoshifumi and Shiori Jippensha defeated Sae Akutagawa and The TermiNation in 20:22 when Megumi Nakajima pinned Sae Akutagawa with a Super Exploder. -Good Main Event, though Megumi ALSO suffered a broken toe. People are breaking toes all over in this company it seems. Overall Rating: 56
  4. I don't know if patch 22 has been fixed yet but I'm assuming the retail version is already up to date with patches
  5. well I generally trust google translate and the belt looks great
  6. I've booked a lot of 5SSW, and 15 minute matches tend to work fine for me BUT fans expect important matches to be quite long and they want long matches in general. So if I want a high rating than I find the best thing to do is book 20 minute matches or even longer and just use a slow build and/or storytelling note if I'm worried about stamina or just don't want to risk an injury or something. For Modern Throwback I'd say Story Telling matches would probably be your best friend. However, I do find the 15 minute default works out great for Pre-Show matches and generally keep them at that length. I suppose I'm also helped by the fact I'm playing a Puro company, so multiman and tag bouts help ease the burden of going 20 minutes plus on a regular basis.
  7. Since you seem to be the only renderer actively taking title requests right now: ELITE Pro Wrestling has a "Large Womens" divison, and no women's title. Lots of modders are making female Indian workers, but neither Indian company has an Indian division. It would be nice to get a Women's title for both or at least one of them. I'd personally appreciate it if the XWA titles didn't look so "indie", at least the world title should look less like a Backyard Fed knockoff imo. And last but not least I feel the CWA titles could use a big facelift so they look more prestigious along the lines of TCW or SWF's belts. No pressure
  8. One cool thing about EWR was that you didn't just have one trainer visible, but you could hire multiple trainers with the one with the best stat being the "Head Trainer". In '16 it was also great being able to sign vets with great performance skills (Steve Flash was my go to) and making them a head trainer for my school. It would be awesome to see something like that in '20. Not that they should scrap facilities or training equipment, but I'd like to see a seasoned wrestler overseeing everything. Basically if you have a good head trainer you could get a small bonus chance to generating a above average-strong worker, and maybe to even things out you actually get slightly less of a bonus if you're running a Performance Center with a head trainer, since the facility all those guys in are such a well oiled monstrous machine it's a bit tougher for everyone to get that one-on-one love they get at a dojo and/or wrestler owned school. Now more than anything the quality of training for the player is just reduced to a slider and how much money you have to throw at it. But I feel bringing back head trainers could add a funner, more challenging and more realistic experience. What happens if I end up signing a vet with great performance skills but my facilities are shit? Maybe the new personality system could come into play. What if I have a great facility, but my head trainer has negative personality traits? Hell, in WMMA you could even run an Ultimate Fighter Scenario. What if something like that was added to TEW2020 that basically just worked like tough enough, with the AI picking winners and losers based off of their skill levels?
  9. Yeah, I miss Head Trainers as well. One cool thing about EWR was that you didn't just have one trainer visible, but you could hire multiple trainers with the one with the best stat being the "Head Trainer".
  10. Would you mind taking a shake at a logo for a Stable called The Gold Standard? I have an idea for basically rebranding Ozzie Golden as a Heelish Main Eventer for a small-time indie with Flash Savage as his deputy and a slew of no namers with potential to bump for him.
  11. speaking of chemistry I ran a game with the Tagg brothers and they ended up having negative chemistry with each other. I think we'd appreciate it if premade tags couldn't receive negative penalties at least.
  12. We're just a few hours away from 5SSW Queendom Tour #5. Highlights are going to be taped by Shogun TV. So far its been confirmed that Miwako Katsukawa will face Paige Croft in the main event for the 5SSW All-Asian title. Not sure when the last time a midcard title was featured in the main event of a 5SSW show, but it seems Karube is ready to experiment this year. The rumor mill also suggests we'll see the 5SSW debuts of JMB and Takenouchi in some fashion. But if the recent bookings of Rika are anything to go back, I'd expect they'll both be stairing up at the ceiling before the night is up. Still, I'm a bit of a mark for Takenouchi's Sit-Out Powerbomb, and the Bowen Technique is always a wonder to behold, so here's hoping for the best.
  13. Current Champions: 5SSW World: Yuma Maruya (168 days as of Sunday, Week 4, March 2020) 5SSW Tag Team: The Birds of Prey (51 days as of Sunday, Week 4, March 2020) 5SSW Triangle: Maki Yoshifumi (68 days as of Sunday, Week 4, March 2020) 5SSW All-Asian: Miwako Katsukawa (196 as of Sunday, Week 4, March 2020)
  14. Sunday, Week 4, March 2020 Japan has been a hot topic for the IWC as of late, as after the disastrous Modern Japan Movement move, not to mention the natural disaster that struck the region, the future of pro wrestling in the land of the rising sun is a question at the back of everyone's minds. Burning Hammer is currently still the top company in the region, with PGHW right on their heels. SAISHO appears to be reeling financially, with the rumor mill reporting that the company is currently in massive debt and may even close soon if they can't chart a new course or find a buyer. One small company that has been putting on particularly big moves recently is 5SSW. Under the guidance of the legendary Sensational Ogiwara and the respected veteran DEVIL Karube, the tiny promotion has had a stellar run so far. Some interesting moves they've made so far are adding fresh blood to the tag divisions with the signings of Debbie Rose and Kate Lily. Thea Davis seemed positioned as a glorified jobber, used in almost a Young Lion fashion (a strange move for a wrestler with as much experience as Davis), but she seems to be slowly picking up steam in the tag division after being paired with Ochiyo Iijima. Selina Svelte suffered a Torn Rotator Cuff earlier this year at WoW Tour Day #6, prompting them to vacate the tag titles, which The Birds of Prey have been having a tremendous showing with. It looks like we can expect the tag titles to be booked strongly for the foreseeable future. But it hasn't all been bad news for Uprising, while Selina heals Talia has found some success as a singles competitor, a losing effort against current 5SSW World Champ Yuma briefly elevated Talia up to the main event scene. Though she seems to have fallen to an Upper Midcard role, I wouldn't be surprised if we continue to see her booked as a contender at least until Svelte returns. Maki Yoshifuna defeated Lady Lotus and MAYA for the 5SSW Triangle title in January, whose very real gimmick as a bad ass Mixed Martial Artist is receiving a legendary reception by the fans. Rumor has it Karube herself is very high on the young prospect, and the move to Triangle champ is obviously meant to tighten up her wrestling skills even further before a possible Main Event push. Perhaps most surprisingly Monster Ishimura went over Yuma in a non-title Main Event at WoW Tour #2. The match was pretty poorly received by Japanese superfans like Greg (as he'll tell you in his column), and bizarrely enough the company chose to have Ishimura not go over Cleanly, which of course the fans in attendance shit on. It's fair to say the company may not believe Ishimura is ready for such a big moment, though according to Dirt Sheets it was Yuma herself who suggested putting the young monster over. I'm willing to bet Karube is slapping herself for that finish currently. And in possibly the biggest news to come out of the company so far, Yu Hashimoto has turned in her notice to Karube and Ogiwara. She appears to be leaving on good terms, and instead simply wishes to see what else is out in the wrestling landscape. A surprising move, since she was being booked very strongly as of late and putting on fantastic performances. In other news, 5SSW has signed more new blood with the arrival of Rika Tsujimura, Kaori Takenouchi, and perhaps most surprisingly Jana Marie Brown (Hell Cat to you Lucha aficionados). I for one am very excited with what's going on at 5SSW currently, and perhaps a weakened Burning Hammer has "stiffer" competition than they thought.
  15. Would you mind making a quick banner for the NOKORI promotion?
  16. Made it so that workers who aren't being paid monthly and who are not local will require travel expenses to be covered, by request ^ Not a huge fan of this change tbh. Maybe some workers (mercenary, money hungry etc.) should request for covered travel expenses if they're not working monthly, but how many indie companies actually cover their workers expenses that aren't exceptions like top guys or something? I think it removes the realism a bit. One of the charms of a worker being a road warrior is that they're driving themselves from show to show trying to get booked and get noticed so they can move on to a bigger company or at least become a big draw on the indie scene. Personally I'd like to see this feature tweaked so that only Mercenaries or Money Motivated workers will request their travel covered by indie sized company.
  17. Why would they be cleansed if the ref is working too much? Realistically speaking if you're an indie ref and the only ref in a company working every match, and on top of that you just drove down from upstate or something where you refed some 40 crowd indie event, and you have to wake up after tonights show to ref some 30 crowd event at a bar you should be fatigued.
  18. Honestly, I'm saddened to see Basics reduced so much, it was one of my favorite stats in '16. Any vet with 100 in Basics was a likely signing for me just because I knew they could help develop the younger guys and pass on their workrate. Hell, it was the reason I signed Steve Flash every chance I got and used him to put over younger talent and then kept him on as a Road Agent and head trainer of my dojo when he retired. Maybe Basics can be buffed a little bit in later patches so that it works like athleticism at least and grants a small boost to match quality the higher it is.
  19. Well in this game non-wrestlers experience fatigue too if they're working too much, like a ref being booked to official too many matches in a row for example. If these non-workers you're talking about are unemployed and not working indie events then I'd guess it's just an error.
  20. Rather than just a fight simulator like the MMA games I'd love if GDS did a boxing manager game where you not only simulate fights but train up fighters in your own gym as well. There's a game like that on Steam that's super indie, but it does have its charm. GDS could basically take that concept except make it an actual good game
  21. Can this function be added in? I already have a save I want to continue, but I also have a few belts I'd like added to the Game World without having to start all over again. It would also be useful for modding and customization in general. You can access titles from the In-Game editor, but some reason there's no belt option in the importer.
  22. where in the handbook is there a breakdown of stats? I was searching for that the other day and didn't see it
  23. So far 5SSW has been the most fun I've had with the new system and OG promotions. I like that I can get straight to booking matches without having to worry about angles or storylines, and I also like that 5SSW essentially has its own little niche carved out as they start off not really having to worry about rivals. I think this is one Save that I'll keep when the retail version comes out next week.
