  1. Am I able to add this to an existing save?
  2. It sounds to me that you don't understand perfect show theory. If you start a game with a high level small or medium company at least, with a good mod then you should be getting satisfying results in a year or less of game time. If I were you I'd go back and read through the entire developers journal again or the help faq. OR turn off a lot of the more challenging elements of the game to make it more like EWR. If all of the other games were for you then trust me this one is as well. Don't be frustrated that you should be better at a game that you've been playing for over 20 years
  3. Yes. It is more dependent on if the angle is Major or Minor. The time frame depends upon your product.
  4. I've got a medium sized promotion doing solid ratings usually in the low 70's. I'm based in the Great Lakes and I've started getting this note after my shows.. "We would have gained popularity in 3 Canadian regions but growth was restricted due to a limited number of viewers here." I only have viewership in 3 regions of Canada, my Canadian broadcaster is Small sized and I'm in a late night slot. I have not in the history over my promotion (year and a half) had a show in Canada, only house shows. Should I start running shows there or should I try to get a better TV deal?
  5. When I'm told that I have sold 576 tickets for a gate of $4,600 in ticket sales, is that my definite gross and addition to my income? My production costs are 5 grand for house shows plus a few hundred in others costs, is the gross I get in email including this cost? Or should I not run house shows in markets where I'm not making over 6ish grand per show?
  6. Also the storytelling match aim with be less impactful on pop gains and losses.
  7. Also I really wanted to get a Fabulous Ones revival and make them a big babyface team for AWA but Stan Lane ended up on a written contact in Japan so I had to let it go. So instead I combined the Killer Bee's B. Brain Blair with Steve Keirn and called them The Right Combination and they have become "stars" on my roster and are a great babyface tag team that wins over the kids, and the ladies.
  8. I'm playing the Risking Tides 91 Mod. I've revived AWA and have come quite a ways in the past 10 months. I thought it would be interesting in 91 to kick off with a more positive race angle, a less militaristic BLM type group that is fighting for top spots in wrestling. So I have my AWA Heavyweight Champ as Butch Reed, the leader of Da 5 Bloods featuring Harlem Heat, Big Nelson (Mable), and Black Magic (Norman Smiley). Reed won the revival 16 man tournament for the heavyweight title, and Harlem heat has been feuding with Demolition but have yet to get the tag gold. Big Nelson is everybody's manager and squash master on B Shows, and Black Magic is a light heavyweight contender and the best wrestler in the group. Butch has defended so far against Jerry Lawler, Rick Martel, Wahoo McDaniel, Bad News Brown (trade deal with CNWA), and most recently Larry Zbyszko. I've got another top heel group which is now (the new origninal) The Dangerous Alliance. Featuring two former Horsemen Blanchard and Windham (managed by his father Blackjack Mulligan), teaming with the duo of Rick Bassman and his wrecking ball Dan Spivey, along with one of the all time greats, Ravishing Rick Rude. Currently Windham is in a long running feud with Rick Martel, Blanchard has gotten into a program with young star Jeff Jarrett, and I've got Spivey & Rude as the new AWA Tag Team Champions after defeating Demolition who were the innagural revived AWA tag team champs after leaving WWF for a deal where they were guaranteed a run as tag champs. On the babyface side I'm running no figurehead. But Ricky Steamboat is my top babyface by far. But I have him contracted as a special attraction and no house shows because I want to preserve his in ring career as long as possibly. I've also got Rick Martel on a written contract but it's not exclusive as I wanted him to keep CNWA a viable option for Canadian wrestling fans. I also have signed Wahoo McDaniel in a contract that will see him pass the torch, and most recently I was able to get Larry Zybyszko to come back to AWA when his WCW contract was up. I brought him in as a beloved babyface instead of a top heel which is where he left. I also was able to get USWA to befriend me once WWF dropped their agreement and during that time I signed Jerry Lawler to a written deal for 2 years, but not exclusive of course because of USWA. Shortly after USWA got upset with my and ended their friendship but whatever, I got Lawler locked in. I also have signed Pillman from WCW and he won the AWA Light Heavyweight Championship and is currently in a long program with The Blue Blazer who is a pesky heel. Nobody knows his identity but his tactics to win border on ludicrous. Eventually I will do a big unmasking gimmick and he will become Owen Hart. I also am using the AWA International Television Championship for my midcard heavyweights and Shane Douglas is the inaugural champ and has been rising in popularity greatly (and in attitude, he isn't gonna want to drop this belt!). And I was able to sign Scott Hall early. I've always struggled with him in games because who is Scott Hall if he was never Razor Ramon? Razor Ramon is so ... WWF gimmicky... I finally came up with a gimmick that was essentially Razor but didn't have that name. He is simply... The Bad Guy. And he's rising fast. I've currently got him in a 3 month feud (where he will lose each match) with Ricky Steamboat. After Steamboat wins this program I think I may have him start a program with Butch for the AWA Title but I'm not sure yet. I kind of want to find a figurehead to take the belt of Butch I don't have a viable contender for that position right now. Part of me really wants to try and get Hogan when his contact is up. One of the bad things that happened is I was working with WGN for an A & B show as well as a monthly event deal that I set up in the pre game editor. I wasn't able to meet the standard WGN wanted for their events at a prime time slot so after 4 or so events I lost the deal outright. Now WGN is done with me and nobody else will make a contact with me for events for about a year it seems. However, I had luckily signed an alternative events deal with a medium sized syndication partner and I am able to run my months events there for the next year until I can get a deal with a big network for my monthly events. WGN won't renew my tv deals with them because they dropped my events contract so I had to get a new deal for my TV when the WGN contracts run out and I was able to sign deals with ESPN so I'm in good shape.
  9. Also possibly since they are so young their experience level is low and that seems to have a big affect from what I can tell.
  10. I am playing an AWA revival in the 91 Mod. I hired Harlem Heat, Mabel, Norman Smiley and Butch Reed to do a early Nation of Domination gimmick (that I call Da 5 Bloods, yes ripped from the movie). I wanted to have Butch take the AWA Title via his stable during the revival championship tournament. His popularity was "well known" and it took about 4 or 5 months to make him a "major star". The rest of the group advanced bout the same time from unknown to recognizable which is where I needed them to stop tanking ratings. I always had the stable as a either minor or major parts of Butch's main event storyline. So they'd get the rub in angles, which yes were not highly rated when featuring only one start among four unknowns, so I got Larry Hennig as my interviewer and he is super over in my region so he adds popularity and has high mic skills. With Booker T I focused on entertainment skills when having him in an angle or star quality, with Stevie it was menace, with Smiley it was charisma with Mable it was Menace. It took about 5 months but the whole stable is at least legit in the eyes of my fans now. I'd say virtually 0 to 40's pop in 6ish months is a pretty realistic growth. Also if you have gimmicks and they come off bad then you are really going to be stalled and may have to change plans.
  11. There is a 30's mod. But yeah I'd be more interested in the 50's. '
  12. It's true that the AI doesn't really try and get high ratings with B show booking. But why don't you run the AI and then change what you don't like or edit what you want to happen? That's what I do and sure it takes a little bit more time but not much. I think B shows are good for progressing lesser feuds and developing a younger workers skills, or even a way to highlight someone that you haven't penciled into the A-Show but you want to keep happy.
  13. Can talking s--- to a worker after a big event in the post show speech make them improve at all or are they just gonna get pissey?
  14. When negotiating a TV deal what is the purpose of ... "The purpose of this deal is" default, normal, lesser etc? I'm creating a B show do I need to signify that it is "lesser", lesser than what? Confused about this and can't find it in the guide. Also is there any point of a B show other than a little money maybe and development and story line progression? Would it be worth it to go on a free to air station for a b show over the a cable network where I may make a little coin?
  15. I would like this. It could add to the match rating or take away from it if it was something overused on the card for your product setting.
  16. Yeah since this Mod starts in 1920. You can watch the AI take all the info given from the mod maker over time to create a very organic hopefully balanced game world. Warning though, it takes a long time to advance years! I started yesterday afternoon and I'm still only on 1933. I stop every few years to try and learn the history of what's going on in the business. Eventually I'll pick a time to start my own promotion or join an already existing one.
  17. I'm really excited to see where this goes. I'm in 1928 on a watcher right now. It's taking forever to progress a year so I may end up letting it advance while I sleep tonight and start a company in the 80's or wherever I wake up.
  18. I switched my Growth Limit to weak, gonna skip a few years ahead and see how it goes.
  19. So frustrating! I'm having the same issue. Nobody is going above 30 pop.
  20. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kieranforthewin" data-cite="kieranforthewin" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Just finished recording my Last Man Standing pay-per-view with CWA and I don't know if I ran into a bug, oversight or just something annoying that is meant to happen, so I thought I'd post here first before going over to tech support. <p> </p><p> I don't play with mandatory pre-booking just as an FYI. I always pre-book my pay-per-views for organisational purposes as the pre-booking screen says since I have the preference off. The Last Man Standing pay-per-view ends with a royal rumble. Earlier on in the show I had a tag match where Lightning Lomas suffered a back injury meaning he couldn't compete later on in the battle royal so I took him out. I like this as it's cool on the fly booking (though his tag title reign is screwed). The issue is since I took him out the battle royal, I've technically not 'lived up' to the pre-booking I made for the show, as Lightning Lomas is not in the match. The game told me as much but I thought maybe since I've literally HAD to do this since it's on the fly, maybe it'll let me off. </p><p> </p><p> Nope, the event that definitely would've been a blue rating, got a 78 with the red error message saying how fans were expecting the "battle royal" and were upset it wasn't on the show. I realise writing this I sound a bit mad which wasn't my intention as I'm just genuinely just wondering if this is avoidable? In my opinion, with mandatory pre-booking off the red message saying the fans were expecting _____ shouldn't exist but I can get past that. It's just irritating I literally HAD to change the booking on the fly due to an injury and it affected my grade, it feels like a potential oversight.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> In this instance you have to modify your pre-booking and change the competitor before you add it to the booking screen. You will lose all of the hype however.</p>
  21. <p><p>Anyone have tips on booking a successful battle royal? I am think around 20 men. I'm creating a match called The Canada Day Dash, which is exactly like TNA's Gauntlet for the Gold. </p><p> </p><p></p><p> So first off, is there any tips you've got for general battle royal booking to get a high rating? I think I'd like to make this a main event but I've never had any real idea how to get a good battle royal in this series ever aside from having a lot of over guys in the match. Is there a match aim I should consider using?</p><p> </p><p></p><p> My product is is 40-60 and 55-45 in ring-pop depending whats best.</p><p> </p><p></p><p> Also is there any way to get a final two in a battle royal so that I can get have them face off in a singles bout to conclude? Or should I just set the match to have pinfall? </p><p> </p><p></p><p> I guess I'd likely get a better show rating if I concluded with a solid one on one with the two finalists from the battle royal but I don't think I can get two winners in a battle royal.</p></p>
  22. I think you've got something interesting but you should go further.
  23. Hey I'm a month into your mod with a created Canadian company (medium size). I think the stats on a lot of your workers are really nicely done. A lot of the results I'm seeing on WWF and WCW look great and their AI booking is coming off very well. I think that a lot of the workers in the mod are lacking attributes that would give the game a lot more diversity. Also the WCW and WWF did a number on their stables the first month. Changing and dissolving most stables. I don't know if that has to do with anything on your end or not. But in another mod I'm playing that didn't happen at the beginning. Great job!
