  1. My delay stems from unfamiliarity with my roster(s). Post-release when I actually have all my stables assigned and managers determined, it'll only be slightly slower than it was in 16 (and it'll get faster as I streamline clicks). I use my preshow to book a bunch of matches between my 'unimportant' level workers, usually with a match with tertiary singles and tag team title implications, as well as a bunch of connected interview angles to get the workers time on the mic. My least skilled road agent works all of these segments so it might take a few extra seconds to change that field when booking angles and matches. I don't autobook anything ever, so everything's done largely on the fly (but on rails) by hand. Right now I'm just futzing around so it takes me longer as a result. I'm not planning anything out or booking with purpose so it's just clicking around and figuring out if my old formula works.
  2. I think there might be a render tutorial in one of the TEW mod forums. I forget which though. EDIT: Found it. By Trell: http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144099 Oh and LoNdOn's video tutorials on YouTube: But there are some DAZ resources on the Re-Render MEGA account here.
  3. I don't understand. What you're asking for doesn't make sense in reality. You want the game to make it impossible for a worker to sign a better contract (exclusive is better than non) because they signed a non-exclusive deal? If you were said worker, would you go for that? You have the ironclad clause which means your contract will always be the primary, until its expiration. If you want to avoid losing a worker, sign them to a longer deal. The AI isn't going to poach someone they have to wait 5, 7, 8 years for. Or maybe it will, in which case you have that duration to do whatever you want with that worker.

  5. No sir. Remember that the AI doesn't play by the same rules. That's why I said specifically 'with development'. If Steve breaks up an argument between Brooke and Lauren and books them to fight each other next week, that's development. But relegating them to the 'autobooker broken toy basket' (B show) won't accomplish that. Only the AI can spam the same matches and get great ratings right off the bat but there's no plan with the AI. It's a moron, which is why I say human players should always be better. The rules have to be waived for the AI or else every company except the human controlled one would tumble into the abyss of 'insignificant'. But that McFly-Deeley match looks like it was dinged hard for something. I would've expected at least a mid-70s rating for that, unless the match aim toned it down quite a bit.
  6. Honestly, I don't see how TEW could be made to run WWE as it's run in reality. No new stars and every time someone catches fire, they throw cold water on them (Ricochet, Cedric, The Fiend). Stop/start and 50/50 booking ensures no one gets over and talent hoarding with no vision means the locker room atmosphere should be questionable, at best. What's worse, some of the gimmickry currently used probably wouldn't go over well in TEW. Like the Fiend (dominate, to recreate him no-selling everything?) I would imagine, would be really hard to book accurately and still get the kind of ratings he typically got in reality (outside of Hell in a Cell and the Goldberg match). But maybe his popularity would overcome that in their product?
  7. First, the injuries where surgery is a high risk are generally the exact same in reality. If a semi-severed spinal column was a simple procedure, it wouldn't be a major injury anymore. Remember back in the day when a torn ACL meant the end of an athlete's career? Nowadays, a complete knee blowout (torn ACL, PCL, LCL, MCL, meniscus, and patella tendon) is a safer procedure than it once was, but it's still not safe. There are no guarantees of a complete recovery either. But just an ACL tear? Pfft, you're back in six months or less. House shows (if they work similarly to 16) don't earn you popularity but they do maintain the popularity you currently have. So you don't have to run the locations that aren't financially worthwhile if you just add those locations to the house show loop. Workers can develop skills (and learn the local language) by working house shows but at a lesser rate than regular (booked) shows. On the flip side, they also add to worker wear and tear and injuries can occur (though both at less than the normal rate).
  8. Yes because 'stats' are the only thing worth considering when booking a show. I'm also talking angles. If Felicia Luck runs into Sonnaz Shah backstage, what happens? Is it a Crips-Bloods in the 80s type of situation or does something a bit milder occur? I'm not doing anything substantive with the trial/beta so I can't just commit things to memory. What I'm referring to are almost unconscious motions that come from muscle memory. In 16, I don't even have to think about where to go to find anything because once I think of what I'm looking for, I immediately go to it without a 'wait, where is...?' thought. I'm not there yet with 20 but I'll get there.
  9. So much this. It's simply lack of familiarity with basic operations. Post-release, I'll get a groove worked out and I'll get back to being able to book shows in 5 minutes again.
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Blackman" data-cite="Blackman" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47614" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Sally is actually one of the only original renders I'm keeping, because it does stand out. You might call it bland, but she is kind of a bland worker too so. And somehow it fits the name for me.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I split the difference and started using J Silver's render of her. It's still toned down (not nearly as interesting as Velvet or Aki or Coco or even Yoko) but at least with a little bit of flavor.</p>
  11. I'm wondering, does anyone have a Lady Yumako re-render? I've searched all of the mod forums and the dropbox and haven't seen one (but obviously I could've missed something).
  12. It has nothing to do with being 'old' or 'stupid'. It's simply your personal preferences at work. Change is hard, especially when that change is abrupt. I've been playing games for 45 years (yes, we had Pong in my house when I was a toddler) and have had the opportunity to get involved in game development since 2001. I've seen games change drastically over time and I've been blessed (or cursed) to see 'how the sausage is made', so to speak. So I see things from both sides to some degree. Complete rewrites garner these types of reactions. When you're used to a game changing very little over its lifespan (as has been the case with TEW), seeing the game completely redone from the ground up is jarring. You basically have to relearn everything that you had committed to muscle memory. It used to take me 10 minutes (tops) to book a show in TEW16. I've just recently gotten it down below half an hour in TEW20. That's not a big deal to me. I have to relearn control schemes when Asian MMOs release in the West, so that's par for the course. But if you're a creature of habit and like uniformity in your game, I can definitely see how this could be distressing. Again, doesn't make you 'stupid' or 'old' or 'wrong', it's simply a preference (and we all have those). The game isn't perfect, but I'd much rather be TEW20 than Mass Effect Andromeda or WWE 2k20 or Front Office Football or *insert Steam Direct game here*. At least I know TEW20 will be completed before Adam moves on to his next project (and even after he moves on. TEW16 was still getting patches while TEW20 was in development!).
  13. Cult is medium. I think people are listening a bit too much to WWE ("We need 1 million subscribers to break even"). An internet TV network distributed on Roku and the like can be created for $30-100k (sources: Brett Langfort of the Vape Network on Roku; 'Two Stoned Girls' on YouTube and Roku), depending on the number of platforms you wish to distribute on. The sticking point is content, do you have enough. If you go with primarily VOD, that's mitigated to a certain extent but you still want to have as much content as possible. I would imagine OVW doesn't need a million (or even a hundred thousand) subscribers to turn a profit. Just seems like some people are advocating "fixing" broadcasting with a nuclear bomb, not a scalpel.

  15. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="RatedRKO16" data-cite="RatedRKO16" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49288" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I have the same issue, because logically a feud doesnt make sense if you're not fighting for a title. 2 guys wrestling just because they don't like each other, but you know they both want the world championship.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Uh, what? In reality, has every fight you've ever been in (assuming you've been in a fight, that is) involved a title? At its core, conflict can arise from any of a myriad of things. Odysseus didn't fight because he wanted a title, he just wanted to go home ('The Quest', as Makhai pointed out). The title is a prop, it's meaningless in and of itself. If some dude spit in your mother's face, are you going to let that go just because there's no title on the line?</p><p> </p><p> Conflict exists for a wide variety of reasons, even beyond ideology. In a wrestling company, everyone should be striving to be the best. In (real) combat sports, the best person in each division is usually the champion. You can't make that assumption for pro wrestling (at least outside of Japan). Most people with multiple brain cells to rub together can see that the champion isn't always the person who is best at his/her job (wrestling). John Cena has never been a better wrestler than Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles, not for a single nanosecond of his life. So you fudge it and create strata that allow people to be 'the best' while not being the champion (Taker, for example) and you let people who are not 'the best' be champion for other reasons (dirty cheating heels, for example. Or 'powered by the crowd/kids' like Hogan and Cena). But people can still butt heads, just like rams. You don't have to have something physical for those conflicts to play out and reach their conclusion.</p><p> </p><p> On topic, my main event programs write themselves. With everyone trying to be the best, there's only one way to accomplish that: beat the best. People fight over respect (earning it and defending it), money, as well as the title(s). My midcard is where I can be a bit more expressive and experiment. I wouldn't say the stakes were lower though since, within two years of the start of the save, I can main event TV (and occasionally PPVs) with midcard matches and they get me the ratings I need to advance, primarily because of that experimentation. But my primary focus is typically to develop talent and that's best done in the midcard.</p>

  17. I'm on the hook for eleven copies as of this writing. Several friends have been particularly hard hit by the ripple effects of the pandemic so this would be a good way to help take the edge off to a certain extent. I would've bought it anyway but having gotten my head around the new systems, I'm just looking forward to being able to play a full year to see how much I truly understand things.
  18. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="a0161613" data-cite="a0161613" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47614" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The AI, is the key section here. They aren't subject to the same handicaps as a human player and would probably explain it.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Brooke v. Sally Anne Christianson - 78; Lauren v. Nina Cacace - 81; that's with me booking it. The combinations are there to produce. The AI does it because it doesn't have to follow the rules but a human player, even constrained by those rules, should <strong><em>ALWAYS</em></strong> do better.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="jesterx7769" data-cite="jesterx7769" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47614" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>You cant book the same over and over as it will give then repetitive penalty. and thats also the two best workers. not includuing rest of the womens division or angles that are needed to logically push forward storylines</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Again, I said with 5-6 weeks of development, the division could be pulling off those kinds of ratings easily. From the start, you have about 7 workers who can produce (Brooke, Lauren, Nina, Sally Anne, Nadia, Laura Flame, and Amber Allen). Seven of fifteen workers overall. Isn't the whole point of booking (especially sports entertainment) to use the popular workers to raise the less popular ones? Zoe Ammis can be on the same level of Brooke and Lauren and it would only take about a month or so of "work". Make her Steve's assistant and have him berate her once or twice a show. He punishes her by booking her in a match against Nina.....and she WINS! And there's your starting point for her ascent. Sally Anne always gives me trouble because her render is so bland I forget about her. (<em>So why don't you find a new render for her?</em> Because I'm stupid. Duh!) But she can be booked like any other try hard, underdog babyface.</p><p> </p><p> With their Ensemble match focus, if a match doesn't feature at least two of your top 7, I'd stick it in the preshow. I'm just saying relegating the women to the graveyard shift on a B show would be a grave disservice. Dollar for dollar, they're probably the most valuable members of the roster not named DeColt, McFly, Stone, Knight, or Bloodstone.</p>
  19. <p>Taker is not retired. Trips should be semi-active, Cena should be 'on hiatus', and Taker should be semi-active (at best). Until MBS quits demanding it, Taker will be working Saudi shows for the foreseeable future.</p><p> </p><p> But you're right. If the mod has these people as regular active wrestlers, it's wrong. Also, the AI doesn't follow the rules so it's probably common to have them spam matches between the same handful of people and get the expected high ratings that result from that. It regularly puts PPV main events on TV, for example.</p>
  20. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TeemuFoundation" data-cite="TeemuFoundation" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49254" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Especially since the FU/AA is not a Death Valley Driver.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, that's a pretty big slip-up.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Now that I'm looking at my folder, it appears I create a new database and use it to store all of my custom angles, matches, workers, moves, etc. So every new save, I import the matches and angles before I get started. Then as I go through the roster, I import moves to replace the lame ones in workers' movesets.</p>
  21. This would indicate to me that it's your booking that's causing the problem. What the AI is doing makes perfect sense from a binary point of view (use all your stars to produce the best possible ratings). If you're doing something counter to that, you're going to get lesser results. The AI is doing what it has to do in order to grow popularity (and the company as a result). If you're finding it difficult to match those results, maybe meet in the middle and use stars to produce the ratings (main event wise) while you do other things in the other matches.
  22. Look at your product. Then click on the ? in the upper right corner. Then click on 'Match Focus'. There you will find your answer. (The only reason I don't post it all here is because it's kinda long)
  23. That's odd because in all my saves, the AI runs Brooke vs Lauren into the ground, and often as the semi-main event on TV and PPV. 5, 6, 7 weeks in a row, and it always rates in the mid 70s to mid 80s (even though Lauren never wins clean). Wait, I see a new matchup. Brooke defeated Laura Flame - 81. In my current save, the women are consistently beating the TV title matches. I'm not seeing this 'tanking' you're referring to. In fact, I'd say with the talent available to them, the women are about 5 or 6 weeks of development from MAIN EVENTING CWA shows (Brooke Tyler d. Lauren Easter Week 2 Jan rated 83 in the semi main, the same rating as Aaron Knight & Cameron Vessey d. The DeColt Boys in the main event). Throwing them onto a B-show (aka wrestling purgatory) would be a waste, especially since many of them are working cheap, relative to their performance potential. Given the dead weight on the roster, the women's division is a closeted strength.
  24. No. I think Money in the Bank should be a tournament title, which doesn't need to be vacated.
  25. I've heard people note this but I've never seen NOTBPW or USPW release either of those women. I've always had to "fight" (and it wasn't a real fight) to get them when their contracts came up. I've seen them non-tender Miss American Pie (who I'm not interested in) but they'd hold onto Alicia and Tiffany Jade (and Elizabeth Cartier) and at least make an attempt (always futile) to outbid me.
