<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">ROH Top Prospect Tournament</span></p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> Location: Carnesseca Arena</span></p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> Attendance: 5,776</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The top prospect tournament kicked off tonight with a video highlighting our first round matches and also our main event feud as Alex Shelley gets his rematch against Zack Sabre Jr.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> To open the show "Broken" Matt Hardy came down to the ring and said that he returned to the Honourable Ring to continue his worldwide quest of deletion. He said that the Castle of Dalton had been compromised and he must fade away and be classified as OBSOLETE.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Our first match of the Top Prospect tournament saw the charismatic Cara Noir go one on one with the high flier Senza Volto. From the minute Cara made his incredible entrance he had the ROH audience on his side and with the crowd against him Senza Volto struggled to recover. Senza went to the top rope for a frog splash but Noir moved out the way, <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">Volto crashed and burned and got hit with a Guillotine Brainbuster as Cara Noir moved on to the semi finals.</span></strong> <strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">45 D</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Next up saw two best friends collide as the Spaniards A-Kid and Carlos Romo went head to head. This match was reflective of the change that ROH was trying to make by going back to their older, more traditional technical wrestling style as they effortlessly transitioned from hold to hold in fashions very similar to our current Ring of Honor World Champion Zack Sabre Jr. In the end of this even encounter,<strong><span style="font-size:10px;"> Carlos Romo would lock in a single leg boston crab to make his way to the semis.</span></strong> Following the match, the two had a moment of tension before embracing. <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>46 D</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> Our 3rd first round match was not a good one whatsoever. The Aussie AJ Istria took on "His Lordship" Spike Trivet and it was clear from the get-go that there was a lack of chemistry between the two competitors that led to a few botches and a lack of flow in the matchup. After about 9 minutes Spike Trivet would cheat his way to victory,<strong><span style="font-size:10px;"> low blowing Istria behind the referees back and rolling him up to advance to the semi finals where he would face Cara Noir.</span></strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>33 E+</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> The final first round match saw two men who have been both tag team partners/friends and bitter Rivals as a match that has been seen in Brighton, Sheffield and London made it's way onto US soil here in Ring of Honor. Sadly, the match didn't go down as well as hoped. The crowd were less into the two competitors than the ones that had come before which could be because they were less aware of the duo, it meant that there was less of an interest shown in this matchup. Without the dazzling entrance of Cara Noir or the longtime friendship or even the utter hatred for Spike Trivet to keep the audience invested, the match suffered. <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">After a rough 12 minutes, TK Cooper would pick up the victory with a Rock, Paper, Scissors Kick.</span></strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>32 E+</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> We now had a filler match to give our competitors a chance to get ready for the semi finals as the new look Villain Enterprises with Flip Gordon as the leader took on the team of The Tate Brothers (Formerly The Boys) and Maluta (Sean Maluta from the CWC). Maluta is fairly new to ROH having only just signed a few months ago and he formed a friendship immediately with The Tates. Sadly for him The Tates messed with the wrong people when they sneaked a shock victory over PCO and King and since then it has been weeks of beatdowns from VE. This match was fairly simple and after a quick, flashy start from the underdogs, <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">Flip Gordon would pin Maluta to win the match</span></strong>. <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>49 D+</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> After a short interval we were back with semi finals action as an all English affair saw Spike Trivet take on Cara Noir. Both men had got a great response immediately on their debut, Cara being overwhelmingly positive, Spike overwhelmingly hated and here they put on the best match of the entire tournament. The match started off fairly slow with the two feeling each other out in an attempt to gain an edge but quickly devolved into more of a brawl with the two battering each other around the arena. This played right into Spike Trivet's hand as the man has been in a few hardcore matches in his time and he utilized the chaos to his advantage here tonight. He would advance to the final with more sneaky tactics here tonight,<span style="font-size:10px;"><strong> raking the eyes of Cara before hitting a brainbuster to win and the crowd were fuming.</strong></span> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>47 D</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> The second semi final was also a very good match as Carlos Romo went against TK Cooper. The crowd were fully behind Romo again here tonight and with his tag team partner A-Kid ringside cheering him on, it allowed for Romo to really rally past the cheating tactics of TK to prevail. It was Cooper's fault that he lost here tonight as he was on the outside gloating in the face of A-Kid when Romo would dive through the ropes with a suicide dive, r<strong><span style="font-size:10px;">oll TK into the ring and apply the single leg boston crab to make the Samoan tap and against all odds, Carlos Romo was in to the finals of the Top Prospect Tournament.</span></strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>44 D</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> Our 2nd of 3 non-tournament matchups went down up next as the Television championship was on the line. Bandido won the title on Ring of Honor TV 2 and half months ago and after a successful defence at Final Battle against Chris Brookes, he defended the title tonight against Eli Drake. Drake feels like he has been overlooked ever since the new management came in and wanted to take something the company holds dearly in the TV title from someone the company holds dearly in Bandido and make a mockery of it. However, tonight would not go the way he wanted it too as <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">Bandido hit the Revolution Fly to retain his title.</span></strong> Drake was furious following the match and beat down Bandido while he was celebrating, meaning he will likely look for another TV title shot down the line. <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>64 C</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> And now, the finals of the Top Prospect tournament. On the one side, you have the ultimate underdog, the fan favourite, the man who didn't even expect to get to this point in Carlos Romo. On the other side, possibly the most hated man in wrestling today, Spike Trivet. The match wasn't as good as the preceding semi final matches but it is likely because they had both wrestled 25+ minutes by this point and you could tell this was getting to them. This did benefit the smaller, faster Carlos Romo who continued his fluid technical wrestling but this kept getting shut down by the cheating ways of Trivet. Much like the prior matches to this, Spike Trivet tried to cheat his way to victory by going for the low blow on Romo but clearly the Spaniard had watched the tapes and was ready for this as <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">he stopped the low blow by grabbing his arm, got in a smooth Magistral Roll and got a shock 3 count to become the 2019 Winner of the Top Prospect tournament</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>34 E+</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> Our main event really dragged the show up as it was an absolutely incredible encounter as Zack Sabre Jr. defended his title for the first time against the former ROH champion Alex Shelley. Zack Sabre Jr was in his element in this match, locking Shelley in every single hold under the sun in an attempt to hold onto his title. With ZSJ having the titleholder's advantage out there tonight, he knew that Shelley had to come at him to try and become a 2 time champion and as the match went on Shelley became more and more frantic and in the end this would come to cost him as he would charge ZSJ on the outside for a running dropkick but ZSJ moved out the way and Shelley's knee blasted of the metal barricades. When ZSJ sees a weakness like this, he immediately capitalizes on it and he started targeting the injured leg. The match would end in controversy however as the referee was distracted and Shelley rolled up the champion for what appeared to be a 3 but the referee did not see this. As Shelley was protesting to the referee, <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">Zack recovered and locked in a kneebar on Shelley and the former champion had nothing left to do but tap out and ZSJ retained his World Title</span></strong> <strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">73 B- </span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Following the match, ZSJ was clearly not in a good mood despite retaining his title and he kept the kneebar locked in on Shelley, looking to put him out of action for good. However, he was cut off as a familiar theme started to play and making his return after 9 months out injured <strong><span style="font-size:10px;">IT'S CHRIS SABIN</span></strong>. Sabin charged down to the ring and ZSJ was quick to vacate it while Sabin helped his longtime friend and tag team partner back to his feet. The final shot saw Shelley and Sabin staring down the champion as we said goodnight</p></div><p></p>

<p>The first two PPV's following Final Battle allows us to take a step back and put the focus onto newer talent of the future. The first of which put a spotlight on 8 new signings in our Top Prospect tournament. With only 1 of the 8 competitors this year coming from outside Europe, the tournament this year saw wrestlers that use the European/World of Sport style technical wrestling that former ROH Champions Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuiness found great success with. The 8 competitors this year were:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> "Punch-Drunk" AJ Istria-Our only non-European entry this year comes from Australia and has a very different style to the rest pack, bringing a hard hitting brawler style mixed with some incredible high flying moves that a man his size shouldn't be able to pull off</p><p> </p><p> "The Black Swan" Cara Noir-One of the most unique and interesting characters in British Wrestling today Cara has a fantastic look, great moveset and the best entrance in all of wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> "His Lordship" Spike Trivet-Over the past year Spike has broke out into the BritWres scene and everywhere he goes he manages to rub people the wrong way. Maybe it's the fact he has more money than you, maybe it's the fact he hates everybody or maybe it is the fact that over the past year he has defeated Jimmy Havoc, Mark Haskins, Jonah Rock and Candyfloss just to name a few. Give him a microphone and he will talk for days but he is just as impressive in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> Senza Volto-A 5 year pro, Volto is a masked French luchador who will be hoping to use his speed and high flying ability to win the tournament</p><p> </p><p> Carlos Romo-One of two Spanish representatives in this tournament, Romo is one of the main stars in WhiteWolf Wrestling in Madrid and is helping to try and put Spanish wrestling on the map. As well as this, he has had a great year in British Wrestling as well where he has turned up in RevPro, Riptide, North and Breed and put on matches of the night every time.</p><p> </p><p> A-Kid-The longtime tag team partner of Carlos Romo, A-Kid is another fantastic technical wrestler from Spain and last year he had a 5 star match in Madrid against current ROH World Champion Zack Sabre Jr. A-Kid is more experienced than Carlos Romo by two years and he will look to use that experience when he faces off against his partner in round one of this tournament.</p><p> </p><p> Chuck Mambo-A fun, energetic babyface with great technical ability, Mambo has been all over the UK over the past 2 years, he has been Riptide Brighton Champion for over a year and earlier this year he made an appearance in Impact Wrestling</p><p> </p><p> TK Cooper-The 8th and final entrant into this tournament is the self proclaimed "Daddy of the North" in the UK as he has held titles in a lot of the companies in the North of England, more recently the Breed Pro Wrestling title. The New Zealand native now resides in the UK and is a regular in Progress, RevPro and Riptide where he has worked as a solo guy, a part of 3 man group ETM with Mambo and Trivet or in a tag team with NXTUK's Travis Banks.</p><p> </p><p> Also, on this show we will see a Final Battle rematch as ZSJ defends against Alex Shelley and Bandido defends his TV title against Eli Drake</p>

<p>What's happened so far:</p><p> </p><p> We begin in July 2019 and following dwindling attendances, falling TV ratings and the brand having less interest than ever before ROH owners Sinclair stepped in and removed Bully Ray and Delirious both from their booking positions but from the company all together. After much deliberation the book was given to one of the longest tenured wrestlers on the roster Colt Cabana and alongside Sinclair he made some cut throat decisions right from the start. After many false starts, the decision was made to cut Women of Honor completely, the wrestlers were released and the title was retired for good. On top of this Odinson, PJ Black, The Bouncers, James Storm and Rhett Titus were all released and Kenny King would walk out of the company as well. To anyone who reads the "what's going your game" thread you may have recently seen that I started a new ROH save and I have been having a great time both playing this save and writing about it on there so I decided to try once more at making a dynasty of it. Last time I tried to make a dynasty it didn't go too well as I tried to make it too big, too large. So for this one, I am going back to basics. This means no pictures, less in depth promo writing and I won't try to make everything longer than it needs to be. As well as this, I will be writing up the TV shows but not very in depth as I will save that for the PPV's. I will also save predictions for the PPV's because the TV shows are usually predictable and short as hell

In a quick turnaround, we jump from one ROH tournament to another. This time up is ROH Tag Wars where we see 8 different teams battle for a chance to face Aussie Open for the ROH Tag Team titles. As well as this there was a blockbuster semi main event as the returning Motor City Machine Guns faced off against the ROH Champion Zack Sabre Jr and his tag team partner: MINORU SUZUKI! In the first match of the first round, we had a fantastic bout as the experienced Briscoe Brothers defeated the thrown together team of Jeff Cobb and Flamita. Following the match, Eddie Kingston came out and mocked Cobb who he beat at Final Battle and he says that he has been promising a change, he has been promising something new and that change is here. Flamita and Cobb were then attacked by two unnamed men while King watched on. While it is still unknown to the audience, these two men are Terrence and Terell Dudley, the twin sons of D-Von Dudley and I am hoping King can help them be a solid team for us. Next up we saw Team Whitewolf (Carlos Romo and A-Kid) face off against TK Cooper and Spike Trivet. These 4 all included in the Hot Prospect tournament last month and Romo looked to win two tournaments in as many months and we saw a mirror image of what happened in that tournament as he rolled up Spike Trivet to move into the next round. However, following the match TK and Spike would attack Whitewolf meaning they would be injured heading into their match with The Briscoes. The 3rd first round match saw the former tag team champions Lifeblood (Haskins and Williams) battle the allies to the current tag champions Aussie Open, Schadenfreude (Chris Brookes and Jonathan Gresham). Brookes and Gresham looked to win this tournament so Aussie Open would have no opponents and here they beat the former champions following interference from Mark Davis. The final first round match of this tournament saw last year's winners Villain Enterprises face off against former opponents, turned tag team partners Daisuke Sekimoto and Tomohiro Ishii. This was a wild brawl which saw Sekimoto and Ishii advance to the semis, much to the chagrin of V.E leader Flip Gordon. In a filler match and an end to their feud, "Broken" Matt Hardy defeated Dalton Castle. The first semi final match was not a fun watch as the crowd favourites Team Whitewolf were walking in already injured and they were completely schooled by former 10 time ROH tag champions The Briscoe Brothers. After about 10 minutes, Jay picked up the win and they advanced to the finals. Their opponents were determined by our next match which saw Schadenfreude face off against Sekimoto and Ishii. Just like last time, Schadenfreude tried to use their numbers to their advantage and when the referee goes down, they all swarmed the duo in the ring when to the absolute shock of everyone, Jushin Thunder Liger's music would hit and the legend would come down to the ring to get revenge on Schadenfreude and mainly Jonathan Gresham. We all thought that Final Battle would be his last appearance but apparently not, maybe he has one more match still left in him. Due to this distraction, Sekimoto and Ishii were able to recover and pick up the victory and now they head to the finals where they will face The Briscoes. The semi main event saw one of the greatest tag teams off all time make their return as Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, Motor City Machine Guns went up against Zack Sabre Jr. and Minoru Suzuki, Suzuki-Gun. In shocking fashion MCMG picked up the victory as Chris Sabin made his in ring return by rolling up the current ROH Champion ZSJ to pick up the victory. Following the match, Suzuki and ZSJ were furious and they attacked referees and trainees at ringside. And then, the main event. Another Wild Brawl, a hard hitting affair as the experienced team of The Briscoes went up against two of the hardest hitting men out there in Sekimoto and Ishii. In the end after an even contest, Sekimoto and Ishii would win tag wars when Ishii did something sensational, diving from the top rope onto Jay Briscoe on the outside which allowed Sekimoto to pin Mark Briscoe clean in the middle of the ring. Fantastic main event and a great win for Sekimoto and Ishii and they have their eyes set fully on Aussie Open and their ROH Tag Team titles

ROH Top Prospect tournament is in the books and the show was solid, with a fantastic main event dragging it up. As expected, the ratings for our top prospect tournament weren't great but the tournament overall was fairly successful, in fact only two were not signed full time (AJ Istria and Chuck Mambo) but the belief is that they will likely make a return over the next year. In the first round we had the battle of Team WhiteWolf as Carlos Romo just barely overcame A-Kid. Spike Trivet cheated to make his way past AJ Istria, the incredible Cara Noir defeated a very impressive Senza Volto and in the final first round match TK Cooper defeated longtime rival/friend Chuck Mambo. As a filler match Villain Enterprises defeated The Tate Brothers and Maluta after The Tates got a surprise roll up victory over PCO and King. straight into the semi finals Carlos Romo once again picked up a surprise victory, taking advantage of the overconfidence of TK Cooper to pick up the win and then in the other semi final the fans almost caused a riot when for the 2nd time tonight Spike Trivet cheated to win, this time eliminating new crowd favourite Cara Noir to make the final. While Cara did not win the tournament, he put in the best in ring performances and the future looks huge for him here in ROH. Our next match was a TV title match which saw Bandido defeat Eli Drake. Drake then attacked Bandido after the match to continue this feud. And then, the finals! the man nobody thought would make it this far, Carlos Romo against the outspoken, despicable Spike Trivet. To the delight of everyone in the arena, Carlos Romo capped of a great tournament when he rolled up Spike to become the 2019 top prospect. Spike would attack him following the match though, clearly furious his moment was ruined. Overall, I really enjoyed the tournament and while 7 of the 8 competitors are from Europe, I feel like it brings new blood into ROH that was massively needed. Everyone who has signed are great wrestlers and most of them follow that same ROH/Danielson inspired technical ability especially the winner Carlos Romo. In the main event, it was an ROH Final Battle rematch as Zack Sabre Jr retained his newly won title against the former champion Alex Shelley but it was controversial as referee Todd Sinclair went down and Shelley had ZSJ pinned for 3 but the referee didnt see it. Following the match, Zack refused to release his submission when a music hit that we hadn't heard in a long time and Shelley's tag team partner Chris Sabin made his long awaited return from injury to make the save. The show ended with a staredown between ZSJ and Chris Sabin

ROH Final Battle 2019 is in the books and it was a fantastic PPV: https://imgur.com/a/UCTHZff KENTA has been fantastic since returning, putting in the best in ring performances in this company and his victory over Jay Briscoe showed he is a main event talent still in ROH. Originally, Hendry was going to beat Castle but then Matt Hardy was released by the WWE and I thought a Castle and Broken Matt feud would be awesome. Aussie Open are tag team champions but I felt like putting Brookes over Bandido at this point would be a mistake. Bandido is on top form and banging in some great ratings and with Gresham turning heel, they could have a fantastic match for that title. Eddie Kingston is back because I think he is a solid, upper midcard and his promo work will help get over people over. I have a tag team potentially coming in next month, that King would align with to kick some ass. Ishii vs Sekimoto is simply something that would be a class match. Plus, with Tag Wars coming up in January I might make them a team. For now though, this was a one of Ishii appearance. Finally, ZSJ beating Shelley was planned right from the start as he is what I want to base this new ROH around. A fantastic technical wrestler who can put on a good match with anyone. Few more changes to the roster over the past couple of weeks and over the coming ones. Matt Taven's contract is up and I am not extending it, Vinny Marseglia and TK O'Ryan are following him out the door. Shaheem Ali and LSG have been released as has longtime employee Cheeseburger. As you can see on the incoming, Eddie Kingston and Broken Matt have returned but both of them are older and will not be pushed towards titles most likely, instead being used to put over and develop the younger stars. I have no idea how ROH's top prospect tournament is meant to work so I have just signed 8 guys who are young and have never wrestled in Ring of Honor before. So I've recently started an new Ring of Honor save which I have been really enjoying. My plan at the start was to put the focus back on great, technical wrestling like Ring Of Honor used to be known for. Delirious and Bully Ray were removed from power and the book was given to long time ROH star Colt Cabana (me) and changes were immediate. Women of Honor came to an end as the division was just laughably bad tbh. The Bouncers, Kenny King (Wasn't released, he walked as he was upset), Odinson, PJ Black, James Storm and Rhett Titus were all gone within the first 2 months. New signings saw the arrival of Joe Hendry, Flamita, Kenta, Zack Sabre Jr, Robbie Eagles, Rey Horus and more recently Eddie Kingston (yet to debut). As well as this, there was an unprecedented debut of Schadenfreude (Chris Brookes, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher) and the trio immediately put their sights on LifeBlood and both their 6 man tag team titles and their newly won tag team titles. To combat this and multiple injuries to Finlay and Juice Robinson, Lifeblood introduces Rey Horus and Robbie Eagles into the trio. Schadenfreude won the 6 man titles at Glory by Honor but most recently failed to win the tag titles after the return of David Finlay. One of the big decisions needed to be made at the start was with the ROH World Title and getting it off Matt Taven. At Death before Dishonor, Taven beat Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal in a triple threat, pinning Lethal but the next month at All Star Extravaganza Alex Shelley would beat Taven one on one to win the World Title for the first time in his career. Since then he has made successful defences against Taven, Lethal, Gordon and more recently Marty Scurll. Also, not a big fan of Shane Taylor but I gave him a chance to impress me. He defended against Lance Archer first but the match wasn't great. Next up, he beat Willie Mack in another bad match. His final successful defence was against Rush and this was decent but mainly because of Rush. This is where I decided to give up on him and my original plan was for him to issue an open challenge which Shingo Takagi would accept, take the title and then drop it to Jeff Cobb at Final Battle. Turns out he was injured so I put the title on Bandido who may defend against Chris Brookes at Final Battle or maybe a higher up heel, not too sure. I feel like this should be either 10 defences or a certain amount of time. Maybe 2 years or something like that because I have had reigns that lasted multiple years in companies like MAW where they had a defense every couple of months

What an awesome show man. I'm really excited to see Robin DaLay get a push as he was great for me as MAW and he has a lot of potential. I love that Jett is champion, I never really enjoyed Ali as champion and Jett should be able to have great matches against anyone. I seriously did not expect the twist in the main event. I saw Hernandez winning but not with his brother returning and costing him the title. Everything turned out even better than I hoped it would. Congrats man
