1. Be prepared to throw a lot of money at Piper if you want him to jump ship. With the way the mod is built, Piper ends up being the most popular worker in the world due to his pre-programmed movie-based narratives boosting his overness.

 3.
I like this update that shows what's going on in the rest of the world in your game. I always find it kinda interesting how the AI controlled world shakes out in TEW.

I can't wait to see Cobb and Riddle.

 4.
After this weekend, I think your booking of the Tag Titles is going to prove to be prophetic.

Also looking forward to a straight-up KES/War Machine match, both in this thread and IRL.

IWGP Tag Team Title, 3 Way Match: Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa © vs. Raymond Rowe & Hanson vs. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. - My theory with these matches is that the belts are going to end up on KES at the end and also each team is going to get a turn with them. I originally thought they were going to go to GOD, then back to War Machine, then to KES. When War Machine retained in the first match, if my theory was correct, GOD would win the next match.

7. Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Rocky Romero vs. Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI

8. Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay vs. EVIL & Hiromu Takahashi

9. IWGP US Heavyweight Title: Kenny Omega © vs. Juice Robinson - Something is going on with their tag matches. If I'm not mistaken, Juice hasn't won a single tag encounter involving Omega, and that's just not how New Japan booking usually works. Either someone on the Bullet Club side is complaining about losing and Dean is trying to avoid morale issues, OR he's doing the "Challenger loses repeatedly, then wins a big upset victory." I'm wagering on the second, because I think Juice is a better fit for the US title, Kenny doesn't need it(not every upper-carder needs a belt), also Juice is actually American.

Yujiro Takahashi & Chase Owens vs. Beretta & Jado - I got a theory with this match that they're literally starting him at the bottom of the ladder as a heavyweight.

4. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabe, KUSHIDA, Ryusuke Taguchi & Ricochet vs. Takashi Iizuka, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, TAKA Michinoku , Taichi & El Desperado -Suzuki-Gun doesn't have any heavyweights, so will lose.

5. IWGP Tag Team Title, 3 Way Match: Raymond Rowe & Hanson © vs. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa - This is so hard to predict because I get the feeling the belts are gonna change hands at each show, and it's a crapshoot for the first two nights.

6. Kenny Omega & Bad Luck Fale vs. Juice Robinson & David Finlay

7. Tomohiro Ishii & Will Ospreay vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi - Gotta build up that the challengers can win, even though they're gonna lose.

8. 8. I need a tag team name for 2002 Austin Aries and Jimmy Jacobs. Gimmick is obnoxious glam emo punk kids.

 10. I've run a similar style of company with 2 games so far, JCP in 1987 and WCW in 2001. In both, I've found that having solid midcarders, who can get a C+ to B- rating, are great for filling TV time while also sustaining a positive card rating. The secret to japan-style multi-man matches is there's usually a lower-card worker who eats the pin. For example, in a 6 Man match, each team would consist of 1 main event, 1 upper-mid guy, and 1 lower card guy who's still got good enough skills to keep up, and then that lower-card guy eats the pin. Another secret to booking old-school promotions: bull**** finishes. DQs, count-outs, no-contests. Sure the matches won't be the best they can be, but if you're doing everything else right, they should be high enough to get you a show rating that will maintain, or hopefully slowly improve, your popularity rating. If you want to simulate that style of fed accurately, though, your TV show should be a "B Show", that way you can fill it with angles and squash matches and they won't affect your overall popularity.
 11.
In my WCW 2002 game, Bryan Danielson suffered a 6 month leg injury on his first match after being called up from development. Between this, and AJ Styles being either injured or in rehab for almost the entire game, I'm having bad luck with my young future superstars.

Also, between this, and Bryan Danielson dying in my last game I used him in, I'm also having bad luck with Bryan Danielson in general.

It's based on the real-life tragedy of Ed Gantner, and this was the beginning of a very, very sad couple of years for him.

 13. So, for like, a week, Waltman was known as The Cannonball Kid, and once upon a time Kevin Nash was known as Vinnie Vegas, so... 'Cannonball' Vinnie Hall. Or, according to wikipedia, Waltman also went by The Hardluck Kid, so 'Hardluck' Vinnie Hall. I feel keeping the family name is important, and I think the name fits how he looks.

 17. I had high hopes for AJ Styles going in to my 2001 WCW game, but man, has he had a rough start to his career. Less than 2 months in, in February 2001, he breaks his neck on a NWA Wildside TV taping. He's out for over a year. He returns in March 2002, has a brief run as NWA Wildside Champion before he's called up to the main roster in July. The night after his review, he tests positive for painkillers. I send him to rehab for 6 months.By the time he gets out of rehab, he'll have had less than 4 active months in a 2-year old game.
 18. Less than a week after Booker T up and walks out on me, Sting tests positive for Painkillers and I opt to send him to rehab. There go, like, half of my main-event babyfaces.
 19.
It's March of 2002 and Booker T just decided to sit out the rest of his contract over jobbing to Rob Van Dam(with interference and a tainted win) on an episode of Monday Nitro. I went ahead and released him from his contract, because what else could I do?

This could be a big problem. He was my #2 draw, behind Goldberg. Anyone know how long it'll take before he'd be willing to come back?

 20.
Jaysin is probably right about Cena and O'Haire, not only do they not need it, it may actively harm their growth.

Flair... I know he's bad. I know, in reality, he didn't really have a passion or an interest in the business. But I kinda wanna make an effort to see what kinda career he can have. Not, like, push him to the moon or anything, but just see how he develops. Heck he's already earned the NWA: Wildside heavyweight championship and actually had a decent match with Masato Tanaka once.

Jobbertrev, your idea about making him an annoying hanger-on is pretty good. I think I'm gonna use it.

 21.
It's that time of (in-game) year- time to pick a new Horseman.

For background: In mid-2001 WCW, Dustin Rhodes founded the New Horsemen, a group seeking to out-shine the legacy of the Four Horsemen. He founded the group with CW Anderson, "The Man That Put My Father Out of The Business", Steve Corino, and a man who knows what it's like to live in a relative's shadow, Chavo Guererro Jr.

The group has been moderately successful. The planned team of CW and Corino have been massively hindered by Corino dealing with a long-term nagging injury. Chavo recently quit the group, fed up with their over-all incompetence, culminating in a 6-man tag between the remaining 3 New Horsemen and Chavo, Konnan, and Kidman.

Now, to select a replacement:

Sean O'Haire: despite being full of potential, he hasn't really accomplished much of note over the past year. He's slightly less over than Dustin Rhodes. Joining the group may be a good way to give him something to do to get away from his middling tag team with Chuck Palumbo.

James Storm: America's Most Wanted were Dead On Arrival as a tag team, having terrible chemistry. You'd think this could've been spotted in developmental, but w/e. The Horsemen may be a good way for this young man to get his start.

David Flair: He's done about all he can in development. His top-row stats are bad, but his performance stats are actually decent. He may not be the best choice, but it is thematically appropriate.

John Cena: The developmental report says he's still got a little room for improvement, but I checked his stats in the editor, and he's already better than some of my main eventers.

 22.
My WCW 2001 game(Starting in Jan) has completed 1 year. Very rare that I can be interested long enough to keep a with that large of a company going for that long.

One of the biggest issues at this phase in the game is the number of workers with absurdly large paychecks. In the range of $200,000 a month. Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Sting, Lex Luger, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, Booker T, DDP, Sid Vicious. I went $2.5 Million in debt in the first month, on top of the $1 Million debt the company starts with. The only way I'd have a hope of surviving as a company is if I either found an excuse to fire some of these guys, or made them ask for a release. And that's what I did. Some were useful- Goldberg, Sting, Steiner, DDP, Booker, but the rest began jobbing hard, losing to midcarders, many of them debuting(I'll get to that later).

The first to go was Sid, asking for his release at the beginning of February. Next was Buff, who was released in late February due to failing a drug test(He went on to be a regular on the Memorial Show Circuit, and recently signed a full-time contract with Michinoku Pro of all companies). Lex Luger followed 2 weeks later for the same reason. Jeff Jarrett asked for his release in early May(He would shortly after sign for Dusty Rhodes' TCW, then not work a single show the rest of the year. I think he's planning something). Kevin Nash was terminated in early June due to instigating an altercation with Johnny The Bull. Nash then filed a wrongful termination lawsuit that would have most likely put me out of business. Thankfully, the courts ruled in my favor.

By April, I was making a monthly profit and by October, I finally climbed out of the red. By the end of December I had made a year-end profit of just over $1 Million.

To start the year off with, I signed a bunch of talent from Japan and Mexico to short-term contracts to bolster the midcard-talents like Masato Tanaka and La Parka, and the teams of CIMA and SUWA and Jushin Liger and The Great Sasuke to fill out the Cruiserweight and Cruiserweight Tag divisions. I had big plans for AJ Styles in the Cruiserweight division, but he broke is neck at an NWA: Wildside show. He's scheduled to return in March of 2002.

ECW released a load of talent at the end of January, including the likes of James Mariatato, Dawn Marie, Jim Mitchell, and CW Anderson, all of whom I picked up. At the end of May, ECW was purchased by WWF and disbanded. This allowed me to pick up Rob Van Dam, Paul Heyman, Tajiri, Rhino, and Steve Corino.

The summer saw the founding of 2 strong midcard stables: The New Horsemen, featuring Dustin Rhodes, Steve Corino, CW Anderson, and Chavo Guererro Jr and The Darkness, made up of Vampiro, Christopher Daniels, Tajiri, The Sinister Minister and, making his debut at Starrcade, THE MONSTER Abyss.

I had intended to have CW Anderson and Steve Corino become a dominant tag team, but a nagging injury has dramatically slowed Corino for almost his entire time in the company. The tag titles have kinda listlessly bounced around between The Filthy Animals, Kronik, Palumbo and O'Haire, and Vampiro and Daniels.

The Television Title was revived in February. Christohpher Daniels, James Mariatato, Crowbar, and Chavo Jr have all had strong runs with the title over the year.

The United States title has been held by only three men all year: First Mike Awesome, then Jerry Lynn, and the current champion, Rhino.

In the main event, Booker T has carried the company, holding the World Title for most of the year. Lance Storm has been pushed to the moon, winning the World Title from Booker at Starrcade. Diamond Dallas Page has been devastated by time decline. He mostly manages, and occasionally tags with, Kanyon. Sting, too, has been declining all year. Strangely, he didn't show up on the Time Decline List until November, though the Time Decline description says he's over 5 years past his prime. Mike Awesome, just after having an fantastic, if unsuccessful, match with Booker T at Bash At The Beach, tested positive for painkillers. He has been in rehab ever since.

The most pleasantly surprising story of the year has to be Ric Flair. At the age of 52, not only is he not in Time Decline, he's gotten better. A 12 point gain in his Brawling Stat, 10 points in Flashiness, and between 2-6 points in all his other top-row stats. His Basics and Psychology start at 100, but his Safety and Consistency have both jumped about 10 points. His stamina has also gone up from 73 to 80 and his Mic skills have gone from 88 to 99. He is, as far as I can tell, the best talker in the game world. In 2002 Ric Flair arguably the best, full-package performer in this world. I am seriously considering having him and Lance Storm do a 1 hour time limit draw in February because he just might be able to pull it off.

Interestingly, the WWF went and hired a strange lot to fill out their midcard- Barry Windham, Marty Janetty, The Bushwhackers, Public Enemy, Jake Roberts, and Samu. Marty Janetty beat Dean Malenko for the Light Heavyweight title in June and hasn't defended it since. Chris Benoit dropped the IC title to Funaki in March, who dropped it to Barry Windham in September. The have made a single developmental signing all year: CM Punk on Jan 1, 2001. He was called up in September, and hasn't worked a single match.

So, yeah. That's my Year of WCW. I didn't plan on ranting on for so long, and if you've read this far, thank you.

 23. This is what I did to disband the nWo in my 1998 game from TEW13. This was following Sting beating Hogan cleanly and decisively at Starrcade 97, but it's not a whole lot of modification to switch Sting and Goldberg in the storyline, especially considering it looks like the nWo Wolfpac hasn't formed yet in your game. So, like you said, after losing the title, Hogan's grip on the nWo is weakened, his authority is in question. Some people start thinking Hogan doesn't have what it takes to lead the nWo anymore. Some people start thinking the nWo is a sinking ship. Nash, Hall, Konnan, and whoever else you see fit split off to form the Wolfpac(not the nWo Wolfpac, just the Wolfpac), and maybe a few faces from WCW(but definitely not Luger and Sting). Maybe you have Savage join, I had him go off on his own("The Macho Man is nobody's second banana, dig it?!"). The next step is to feud the nWo and Wolfpac, culminating in a Career vs Career match between Hogan and Nash(or maybe Savage). Hogan, of course, loses. What's important, though, is that he loses due to interference by someone else in the nWo. Somebody that thinks with Hogan out of the way, he can take over. Like Scott Steiner. Now, the division within the nWo forms. Some rally behind Steiner, others feel he's betrayed the cause and rally behind another potential leader, like The Giant. In my game I had Masahiro Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan under PPA deals as a third faction. And now it dissolves quickly, and ugly(-ly?) People abandon ship, publicly denouncing the nWo as a shell of itself, friend turns on friend, some people are quietly repackaged(or released). Then, in a match where the winner gets to lead the nWo and the loser gets kicked out, the winner(I would go Steiner, but it doesn't matter), rips up an nWo T-shirt and throws it in the face of his fallen opponent, and no Monday Nitro the nWo is no more. Now, turning Goldberg into an unstoppable monster heel is a good idea. But, in my opinion, there is no good reason to resurrect the nWo to stop him. They don't need the rub, and the idea of a babyface nWo is just... wrong. Maybe you could have Hogan come back in the Red and Yellow to beat him. He doesn't need it, but it would make thematic sense. It needs to be someone new, like bigpapa said, Benoit or Guerrero, or maybe even Jericho. Someone who can out-wrestle, out-smart, and out-last the monster.
 24.
2001, WCW Lives(and never died), Dustin Rhodes has turned heel, dubbing himself "The American Nightmare", and seeking to distance himself from his father's legacy. He's aligned himself with the man who put his father out of the business, The King of Oldschool Steve Corino. Along with CW Anderson, they've formed the New Extreme Horsemen 2000. Well, fine, just The New Horsemen. Question is, who should the 4th be?

Options are:

Crowbar- After retiring Terry Funk earlier in the year, and trading wins with Billy Kidman, this group could help to elevate him.

Mark Jindrak- Creative has Nothing For Him, currently.

Rhino- Fresh from the recently deceased ECW, I kinda want to give him a run on his own, but he'd be a good fit for the group.

Sean O'Haire - I want to break him away from Chuck Palumbo, and either do a singles run, or assigning him to this group might help.

Is the ranking based off of Global importance and popularity? It'd make more sense if the rankings were based off of your current size. If two promotions are both ranked National, it wouldn't make any sense for them to be compared on a Global scale.

If I recall correctly, it is global importance. The ranking is based on all the companies in the world. This situation is a common occurrence with WCW vs WWF as WWF usually is set up with higher popularity in foreign markets. If you go to the Company Wars screen, on the website, you can look at the rankings by country. Check that and see if you're ranked higher than the WWF in the United States.

Now for my own question, does anyone have experience being sued for wrongful termination?

I fired Kevin Nash for instigating a fight with a lower-card worker, and now he's suing me for wrongful termination.

What are my odds that I'll lose in this situation, and how much will I probably have to pay?

I'm already 2.4 million in debt, so this might just be what kills the company.
