Attempted Murder Thursday, Week 2, February 2022 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (22.194 viewers on WrestleWorld Japan) WrestleWorld Japan viewers tuning in to watch a Warrior Queen 2020 show for the first time were introduced to the new Queen of the Deathmatch champion, Monster Ishimura, as she made her entrance and cut a promo to celebrate her victory and establish herself as the promotion's #1 wrestler. Not the most safe way to play things, but WQ2020 has never been about doing things the conventional way, plus Ishimura's size, charisma and popularity are undeniable, regardless of her physical appearance. The champion seemed to be trying to inject a bit more personality to herself and grow out of being just a big monster, but it'll be a while till she can show more. For now, she layed down the gauntlet and issued an open challenge to whoever thinks they can stand in the ring with her. Rating: 37 WQ2020 Internet title Five Way Ladder match Emiko Miyoshi vs Nami Genda vs Petra Forsberg vs Pinky Perez vs Rika Tsujimura Celebrating WQ2020's new online broadcast deal, the brand new Internet title was introduced and literally hung up for grabs in a Ladder match with five women competing for it. The focus was more on impressive flips and dives off ladders rather than using them as weapons for more hardcore spots, but there was still enough action packed in these fifteen or so minutes to keep things exciting. In the end, the match came down to Perez and Tsujimura trading blows on opposite sides of the ladder, with Perez going high risk as she flipped over the top and attempted to slam her opponent off of it. Tsujimura however held on tight and with a well-aimed kick to the top of Perez's head, knocked her off to clear the way and ascent, retrieving the belt to become the first ever WQ2020 Internet champion. Rating: 57 Individual performances: Miyoshi 54, Genda 53, Forsberg 41, Perez 67, Tsujimura 50 WQ2020 Blood Sisters titles Deathmatch Hooligan Sisters vs Cannibal Crew With the audience properly warmed up by this point, the first Deathmatch of the night was up next and it was nothing short of a showcase for new viewers tuning in. Defending champions Hannah and Helena went wild, swinging everything they could against the first ever WQ Blood Sisters title holders. Cannibal Crew brought the intensity to match their wild gimmicks and even gave their opponents a stereo table spot to the outside, meaning of course that they couldn't make the follow up pin. This saw the challengers ramp up the violence, as Etelka reached under the ring to pull out her infamous board of scissors. Fans went wild in anticipation of the spot, but it would be herself who would go through that board after a well timed double knee strike from the champions that knocked her off the apron and through the board. Without flinching, Maneater simply pulled one of the scissors out of the board and attempted to stab her opponents, meaning Helena ended up sporting the crimson mask. The striking visual was something to behold, but it also woke up Hannah who rushed to her sister's aid with a superkick that sent Maneater onto the broken scissor board just as Etelka was standing back up from it. Seeing her chance, Hannah pushed the advantage and rolled a wobbly Etelka into the ring for the cover, ensuring victory with a handful of the Hun's tights just to be sure. Rating: 56 Individual performances: Helena 49, Hannah 59, Maneater 57, Etelka 53 Iron Maiden trios Deathmatch Death Triangle vs The Bloody Hand Now this match was all about celebrating the freedom WQ2020 were given by their new broadcaster to show even crazier matches, something Kitsune Danger ran with like any true scion of the Kajahara bloodline would. What is an Iron Maiden Deathmatch, you might ask. Simply put, a casket match, only the casket itself also contains plenty of barbed wire attached to its inside. Shock value aside, the stipulation also helped make this matchup feel a bit fresh after countless clashes between the two groups, though this time it was also different due to the storylines of internal tension in both factions: Death Triangle had all lost their titles and seemed to struggle, while Dr. Yumaniac had just usurped Taheiji Konoe from leadership. It was all good and brutal, with every single participant having a chance to take some sort of insane bump, until it started raining down injuries. First it was Kitsune Danger with a weird landing on the barricade that probably messed up a rib or two, then Morisue miscalculated a powerslam on the casket, giving Mushashibo some sort of whiplash injury while almost breaking the casket itself into bits and splinters. Death Triangle were obviously struggling and Majima -no pun intended- put the nail on the coffin when an apparent miscommunication between herself and Mushashibo created an opening for Dr. Yumaniac to hit Mushashibo with the Purgatorium onto the open (remains of the) coffin, then slam the lid shut to win the match. Rating: 53 rformances: Majima 59, Danger 67, Mushashibo 57, Umehara 51, Morisue 40, Yumaniac 54 Reeling but victorious, The Bloody Hand stood tall as Edo Phoenix Iv ran down to the ring to celebrate with them. Dr. Yumaniac requested a microphone and cut straight to the chase, saying she wanted to address the elephant in the room, the question in everyone's minds, who will be the fifth member of the group. According to the new leader of The Bloody Hand, the group had failed to blitzkrieg its way into dominance of Warrior Queen 2020 when it first formed, then hit a glass ceiling due to all of its members beside her being ineligible to formally hold one of the title belts in this all female promotion. Therefore, she would be building for the future, by introducing one of the toughest, baddest prospects on the entire roster... ...Piper Hale! Fans initially seemed a bit confused, but as soon as Hale made her way out to shake Dr. Yumaniac's hand, the visual began to make sense. Hale then got on the mic to address them in fluent Japanese, though she quickly switched to English just to irritate them. It worked too, she got a pretty good reaction and if this was any indication, she might be getting more and more mic time pretty soon. The group ended up hugging and flipped off the crowd, before leaving the ring together to return backstage. Rating: 41 WQ2020 Queen’s Heart title match Lady Lotus vs Ai Takami The challenge laid out last month after Takami exorcised her demons by beating Pinky Perez, the main event saw her take on Lady Lotus in a pretty unorthodox -by WQ2020's standards- match. Indeed, this was a by the numbers classic puroresu slow fuse main event title contest and given the rest of the context, actually felt quite refreshing. It also felt as if WQ2020 were trying to make a point here, as if wanting to say they're not just about ultraviolence or high flying, but they can also put on rock solid, pure wrestling matches as well. A well executed and rather competitive match from bell to bell, this of course escalated as time went on and almost made it to the twenty minute mark (a rarity for WQ2020 contests) before the third Senton Bomb in the bout finally proved enough to hold Takami down for the count as Lady Lotus successfully defended her Queen's Heart title for the third time since winning it. WQ has had a deal with All Japan TV for a while now, covering all of Japan. The difference now is on demand vs graveyard slot, a better profit split (60% instead of 30%) and waaaaaaaay less censorship. I'm hoping for better finances, but I can ensure you'll be seeing much crazier match stipulations from now on. Warrior Queen 2020 as it was meant to be.

It's been two gruelling years since Warrior Queen 2020's first ever show, two years of blood, broken bones and bleeding finances, mainly due to Kitsune Danger's ambition of starting a new hardcore revolution in Japan and training the first generation of female deathmatch wrestlers at the company's dojo, known as The Queen's Court. It's been a wild ride, but at long last, after the Unkillable show on January 2022, the company finally began to turn in a profit. So of course it invested in even better production values, in order to land a broadcast deal with the brand new WrestleWorld Puroresu platform. Between rising popularity and profits, a new nation-wide broadcast deal and the release of willr0ck's brand new joshi/deathmatch expansion for the Women's Revolution mod, the future looks highly promising for Warrior Queen 2020...

Unkillable Thursday, Week 2, January 2022 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.426 viewers on All Japan TV) Junior Division Tag Team match Carribean Angels vs WARRIORS Of GLORY First Warrior Queen show of 2022 opened with a surprisingly good tag team clash between two of the fresher teams on the roster. Specifically, the focus was on new signings Miss Havana and Akari Kawashima, who both put on a good performance, albeit the former was massively assisted by her teammate. It was all about high flying lucha versus traditional hard hitting puroresu, a highly entertaining match regardless of its predictable outcome: Miss Havana further establishing herself by making young lioness Kawashima tap out to her Cubano Crab. Rating: 52 Individual performances: LSJ 55, Havana 38, Kawashima 46, Koiso 47 This time instead of marching out to the ring for their segment, Death Triangle were shown in a backstage segment. The angle picked up from where things left off last time, with the trio in a tense state as Majima was preparing for her main event title defence against challenger Monster Ishimura. Not much was progressed, but the heat between the group was kept alive and the big title match hyped up, which frankly was all this segment was supposed to achieve. Rating: 39 Junior Division Fatal Four Way match Emiko Miyoshi vs Nami Genda vs Rika Tsujimura vs Romi Yamato Following last month's trios match, two participants from each team found themselves in a Fatal Four Way, the night's designated spotfest. Again, the faces were the ones bringing the exciting, athletic offence while Tsujimura and Yamato would punish them with strikes or bring down the pace of the match with some mat grappling. The high spots aspect of the match was played up to full effect and eventually referee Tatum Richards had to admit she'd lost control, thus ending the match on a no contest. Rating: 57 Individual performances: Yamato 57, Miyoshi 52, Genda 54, Tsujimura 47 Unlike Death Triangle, The Bloody Hand did all come out to the ring and Dr. Yumaniac was on mic duty, hyping up Konoe and Morisue's win in last month's main event. Dr. Yumaniac did not shy away from mentioning how the group has been through a lot of internal turmoil with a lot of changes in membership, but things took an unexpected turn when she declared there was one more to make, before abruptly picking up a still-injured Konoe to flatten him with her Purgatorium finisher. Dr. Yumaniac's real-life boyfriend Edo Phoenix IV jumped at the opportunity to put the boots to Konoe, Umehara stayed back as the confused newcomer while Morisue simply cackled at the carnage. With that, Konoe was put down and Dr. Yumaniac declared she is officially taking over leadership of the group from him. Rating: 48 Grudge match Ai Takami vs Pinky Perez A highly anticipated match since Takami's return last month, this was her chance at vengeance and redemption for Perez stripping her of the WQ Queen's Heart title in the not so distant past. As usual, Perez put on a stellar performance but Takami showcased unyielding spirit by constantly kicking out of pinning predicaments and continuing to fight against all odds. Slowly but surely, as the match reached the 20 minute mark, Perez began moving slower and slower, which was just what Takami needed to turn the tables through sheer grit and consistency. In the finishing stretch, Perez threw her biggest moves at Takami but still couldn't hold her down. After one two count too many, a frustrated Perez went high risk but she crashed and burned, allowing Takami to chain a few big moves of her own together and lead up to the Takami Bomb for the pin. Rating: 67 Individual performances: Takami 45, Perez 69 After the match, Takami grabbed a microphone and called out Lady Lotus, saying she's next in line to reclaim her title. The champion did indeed come out and the two shared an intense face to face, as apparently this is going to be the next bout for gold. Rating: 41 WQ2020 Queen of the Deathmatch title match Naoko Majima vs Monster Ishimura Without Mushashibo or Danger seconding her, Majima fearlessly came out and stood across Ishimura in the ring. Seeing her frantic, fast paced style against Ishimura made for an interesting scenario, as she used her speed for hit-and-run tactics while trying to gas out the challenger. The problem with this approach was that it didn't get a lot of damage past Ishimura's thick frame and all the big bulldozer needed was one lucky break to hit a devastating move of her own. Majima slowly realized she was playing it too safe and this wasn't going to do her any favors, so she went high risk with a dive off the balcony of the Iwata Hall. With surprising smoothness to her moves, Ishimura not only caught her but spun around, maintaining the momentum to powerslam the champion onto the ground. From there, it was all Ishimura and once the challenger connected with the Running Butt Avalanche, the wrigint was on the wall. One, two, three, new champion as Monster Ishimura defeated Naoko Majima, ending a reign that began back in September of 2020! Rating: 53 Individual performances: Majima 61, Ishimura 36 Show rating: 54

I'm more than excited to try this out when I'm able. Also, there's a few (masked, especially) gimmicks from the RV that I've been itching to try out once I got the right worker in the right spot to pull them off. Mod aside, some stuff has been tweaked regardless, whether by the game engine itself (i.e. Makioka switching his style to Regular Wrestler and dropping the Deathmatch Wrestler attribute, thus losing his WQ2020 job) or me (noticing Hiroko Iha had a pretty solid Hardcore attribute and would be interesting as a cute gimmick in deatchmatches a la Pink Power Ranger suit Megumi Kudo, thus giving her the Deathmatch Wrestler attribute via the editor).

Oh great, now you got me all hyped up and stuck at work. I'm not going to do any work stuff either, but it's not like I can download the mod and sink my teeth into it. This is gonna be a long day at the office, as if things weren't rough enough already.

Real happy to see WCG make a return. And probably have more titles than wrestlers.

Submit to the Will Saturday, Week 2, December 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.287 viewers on All Japan TV) Junior Division Trios match Lady Lotus, Romi Yamato & Rika Tsujimura vs Pinky Perez, Emiko Miyoshi & Nami Genda Despite fighting each other in last month's title main event, Lady Lotus and Romi Yamato seemed to work pretty well in this match, as if their fight left them with a sense of respect for each other. Next to these two top-tier fighters, Tsujimura not only held up her own part but even had more opportunities to showcase her obnoxious character against the babyface team. On the (no pun intended) flipside, the team of Perez, Miyoshi and Genda was all about the big moves, athletic spots and high flying action that excited the fans, raising the excitement like any good opening match is supposed to do. Given the many, many high spots in this bout it probably overstayed its welcome a little bit, but the finish came as a bit of a shock when a masked assailant ran down to the ring and assaulted Pinky Perez while the ref was distracted by a complaining Tsujimura. Seeing her chance, Rika quit the complaining and rushed in to hit Perez with a Running Knee Bomb, scoring the pin to win the match for her team. Rating: 49 Individual performances: Tsujimura 48, Yamato 58, Lotus 60, Genda 54, Miyoshi 49, Perez 65 Sharper new look aside, the pink hair and white biohazzard mask was unmistakable, Ai Takami is back in Warrior Queen 2020! As soon as the broadcast team realized who the newcomer was, they went crazy for the first ever WQ Queen's Heart champion and reminded fans watching on All Japan TV that it was Perez who beat Takami for that title. Clearly, she was now back for revenge. Rating: 44 Junior Division Singles match Edo Phoenix IV vs Yayoi Kurmochi Quite a predictable outcome, Kurmochi made her main show debut in a valiant but ultimately doomed attempt against The Bloody Hand's Edo Phoenix IV. Hardcore WQ2020 fans will already know Kurmochi from the dark matches she's been wrestling for the company in the last few months, where she's been getting quite the bad reaction from audiences who almost booed her out of the building; this wasn't the case here, as Kurmochi's hard work and obvious improvement has endeared her to the WQ2020 audience, at least to the point where she's no longer catching any flak. What she did catch though was a Blaze Of Glory '12, with which Phoenix won their match. Rating: 47 Individual performances: Phoenix 57, Kurmochi 27 4 vs 4 Deathmatch Etelka The Hun, Petra Forsberg & Unholy Demon Army vs Róisín Gross, Piper Hale & The Hooligan Sisters In their first appearance as holders of the WQ2020 Blood Sisters titles, real life sisters Helena and Hannah Hooligan led their team in a match with little story and cohesivenes on both sides. Still, as the first deathmatch of the night, it had enough hardcore action and spectacular spots to excite the live audience, plus Piper Hale was able to score a rare victory for herself when she floored her young facepainted opponent with a Danger Drop for the pinfall win. Rating: 46 Individual performances: Hale 37, Gross 38, Helena 45, Hannah 49, Oni 27, Onryo 46, Forsberg 41, Etelka 48 Singles Deathmatch Eiichi Umehara vs Maneater Next up was Umehara's in-ring debut since showing up to replace Zeshin Makioka in The Bloody Hand. Maneater gave him one hell of a fight and the chemistry between the two was undeniable, raising the intensity to the next level. Things took a turn for the crazier when Maneater got on the top rope for a high flying move, only for Umehara to pick her up and launch her out of the ring, over the barricade and into the crowd. The two brawled in the audience for a while and eventually found themselves climbing up the lighting rig over the entrance ramp. Up top, they traded punches as anticipation built up and Maneater got her revenge when she sent Umehara flying off the top and crashing through some tables underneath. She then followed that up by diving herself with a splash, which left both of them broken on the floor. The fighters had to crawl back on their feet from there and slug it out as they headed back to the ring. There, Umehara got a rush of adrenaline as he whipped Maneater into the side of the ring, then rolled her in to hit his Shoulder Breaker finisher and score the one two three. Great match and a strong debut for the newest member of The Bloody Hand. Rating: 49 Individual performances: Umehara 55, Maneater 55 Death Triangle made a joint entrance next, the difference between champion Majima and her title-less teammates a stark visual. The group entered the ring, but it didn't take long for a minor argument to break out as Mushashibo and Danger wanted to send Majima backstage and wrestle their next match against The Bloody Hand on their own, instead of having her on their corner. Majima retorted by saying her two allies need all the help they can get since they seem to be struggling a bit as of late, until she eventually addressed the elephant in the room, them losing the tag titles. What could have been a statement to potentially cause the faction to implode was averted as immediately, Monster Ishimura's music hit and the big bruiser walked out with a mic in hand. Fans gave Ishimura a huge pop, her every appearance making her more and more of a polarizing figure given her popularity as opposed to her slow, plodding in-ring style. Regardless, Ishimura was coming here fresh of a big win and wrapping up her feud with former teammate Unstoppable Tai, so she threw down the gauntlet, saying she'll be the one to take the last remaining title from Death Triangle, if Majima has the guts to put her Queen of the Deathmatch belt on the line against her! Rating: 43 Tables Tag Team Deathmatch Deadly Alliance vs The Bloody Hand (Konoe & Morisue) This could have been an interesting match, if WQ2020 hadn't already seen variations of it a million times already. Furthermore, having to follow up the Umehara-Maneater match and Ishimura's title challenge, fans were probably burned out a bit. Add to that an overall time of about twenty minutes, which dulled out the shock factor of a deathmatch, on top of Konoe's explosive in-ring style that's not that well suited to longer bouts, and it's no surprise a bunch of things were off here. To make matters worse, Morisue broke something under his eye from a stray chair shot early on, which would swell and look more worrying than exciting, perhaps bringing his elimination a bit earlier than intended when he went through a table. Minutes later, Kitsune Danger botched a superplex that had her hopping on one leg for the rest of the match and Konoe visibly checking the back of his neck for the rest of the match, a legitimate injury that further slowed down "The Animal". Deadly Alliance had the numbers advantage and an injured, gassed out opponent so their victory seemed inevitable, but a brief miscommunication gave Konoe the time he needed to get a rush of adrenaline and drive Mushashibo through a table set against a corner with his Animalistic Gore finisher. Danger was shocked and rushed to check on her partner, then the two of them argued a bit more, providing Konoe with all the time he needed to line up another Animalistic Gore. Danger was driven spine first against the corner padding, then picked up and smashed through a table that had been set inside the ring earlier on. Broken, exhausted but still alive, Taheiji Konoe ended the show standing tall. Still, it felt like the focus was more on Deadly Alliance and the tensions between them and this was more like a match they lost rather than a match The Bloody Hand won. Rating: 44 Individual performances: Danger 74, Mushashibo 56, Morisue 44, Konoe 44 Show rating: 45

HELL TO THE YEAH! Did I commission a full reskin of my WQ2020 workers? Because it feels like I did. Seriously, might be the new assets, but I'm really digging your new art style.

And again, you show up with the slam dunk! As someone who likes to stick to "bare bones" young lions, it's good to have simpler versions of flashier workers like Doan and Isono. On the flip side, BB Emperor with that mask is great for when he's past his YL phase.

Fight for Freedom Saturday, Week 2, November 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.361 viewers on All Japan TV) Tag Team opening match The Carribean Angels vs Unholy Demon Army Lady San Juan has carved a singles career for herself in WQ2020, but everywhere else in the world she's known as one half of The Carribean Angels;her regular partner Miss Havana debuted in WQ2020 in this match to reunite their team and it seems this is done to rejuvenate the division while also keeping LSJ away from the title picture, at least for a while. Unholy Demon Army played the role of fodder here, aggressive when they should to generate sympathy for the faces and selling the moves, especially those of the debuting Miss Havana, when they should, with Oni tapping out to the newcomer's Cubano Crab around the tenth minute of the match. Rating: 43 Individual performances: LSJ 46, Miss Havana 31, Oni 28, Onryo 42 Junior Division Singles match Chitose Ariwara vs Petra Forsberg Chitose Ariwara returned to WQ2020 and this time faced off against Petra Forsberg. Not as good as her match against Miyoshi last month, since Forsberg is clearly still green as grass, but certainly the one improving the fastest out of the three Idol Queens. For now, Ariwara did what she was supposed to do: hold the match together, guide the youngster through it, teach a lesson or two, make her look good and put her over by falling to her Encore finisher. Rating: 40 Individual performances: Ariwara 39, Forsberg 35 The Bloody Hand then hit the ring, with Dr. Yumaniac serving on microphone duty for the group's promo. The subject, of course, was Zeshin Makioka's resignation last month. There was no mention of the criticism he made on the group's performance, but there was commentary on him making his announcement from a distance, out of fear -Dr. Yumaniac said- that he'd get kicked out of the stable if he said the same things while in the same ring as the four of them. With that done and dusted, Dr. Yumaniac once again proclaimed that The Bloody Hand is a five finger death punch, thus she introduced Makioka's replacement... WEXXV alumnus and former King of Deathmatches, Eiichi Umehara! Rating: 36 4 vs 4 Deathmatch w/ The Bloody Hand vs Róisín Gross, Hiroko Iha, Piper Hale & WARRIOR Koiso Just seeing the lineup, there was never any doubt The Bloody Hand were winning this match against a random quartet of rookies. However, it wasn't all about getting Umehara off on the right foot (which was done, as he ended up pinning Hiroko Iha after a Shoulder Breaker). Róisín Gross made her return after an absence of several months and it was plain to see that she'd put a bit of muscle on her -formerly skinny- frame. Hiroko Iha once again looked way out of her element in a deathmatch, which is slowly becoming kind of her new gimmick, while Hale and Koiso displayed their usual fire. Predictable, sure, but well executed nonetheless. Rating: 41 Individual performances: Morisue 43, Umehara 51, Yumaniac 50, Konoe 50, Koiso 27, Hale 46, Iha 24, Gross 47 WQ2020 Blood Sisters titles match w/ Deadly Alliance (with Naoko Majima) vs The Hooligan Sisters Apparently beating the former tag team champions last month, even with a bit of outside help from Monster Ishimura, was enough to warrant a title shot for The Hooligan Sisters. Highlights of the bout include the champions giving the challengers stereo Death Valley Drivers onto chairs that had been set up, Kitsune Danger doing her usual spot of pumping her own adrenaline by giving herself the Kajahara Claw, now with barb wire wrapped around her hand, and Mushashibo putting her goggles on to take an insane dive off the venue's balcony. It was spectacular, but fatal, because not only did she miss, she also ended up taking herself out for a good long while, which in turn left Kitsune Danger all alone to take a double stereo version of the Penalty Kick. One, two, threee, new champions! Rating: 60 Individual performances: Danger 74, Mushashibo 59, Hannah 51, Helena 44 I Quit Grudge Deathmatch Monster Ishimura vs Unstoppable Tai This was the rubber match in the feud between the former Unstoppable Monsters, with the first match ending in a time limit draw and Tai winning the second thanks to interference from Etelka the Hun. Ishimura was technically fighting from behind and the I Quit stipulation was put in place to ensure a definitive winner, as well as an ultroviolent match. This wasn't about crazy spots like the tag titles bout, this was a pure clash of two monsters, a rough brawl with stiff shots and weapon swings, all about toughness, perserverance and determination. Fans clearly wanted to see Ishimura win this one, her popularity still on the rise, which made her the de facto babyface in this situation. By the time she started chaining together some big moves in the finishing stretch, people were all in on this match and thanks to a corner hip attack, a big splash and a senton-like sit down that saw Ishimura put her full weight on Tai's chest, she shoved the mic in her face and finally got Tai to give up. Rating: 46 Individual performances: Ishimura 36, Tai 49 WQ2020 Queen’s Heart title match Lady Lotus vs Romi Yamato So apparently the staredown that ended last month's show was a challenge and Romi Yamato was given the main event spot along with a shot at gold. These women had their work cut out for them after two well received matches that came before, but they blew them both off the water with a frantic, fast paced performance that was gripping from the opening seconds of the match. Well aquainted with each other thanks to their time spent in 5SSW, Lady Lotus and Romi Yamato were able to deliver a great performance with impeccable timing on the big athletic spots. Lady Lotus kicked out of the Yamatotal and when Yamato went for her spinning kick on the corner, the tide shifted as the champion was able to block her leg and reverse into a dragonscrew. This opened the door for her comeback and after taking her challenger on the mat hard one too many times, Lady Lotus ascended on the top rope and hit a gracious Senton Bomb to secure the three count. Reach for the Mountain Friday, Week 2, October 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.436 viewers on All Japan TV) When Idol Queens opened the show with another singing and dancing act, nothing hinted at what would come next. Yet, Hiroko Iha got on the mic after the song and declared that she had decided to take a new step in her career: deathmatch wrestling. The announcement got a huge reaction from the fans and a shocked one from her teammates, but Iho was adamant that if she's gonna make it in WQ2020, she needs to do this. As a matter of fact, she welcomes the challenge and immediately challenged anyone willing to come out and face her in a deathmatch. When Unstoppable Tai's music hit, her challenge was answered all right... Rating: 40 Singles Deathmatch Hiroko Iha vs Unstoppable Tai There were no two ways about this, Iha was never a great in-ring competitor to begin with and in her first deathmatch against Tai, this could only end with her butchered. Still, she stayed in the fight for about five or six minutes before the Tai Bomber took her out for the count, selling her butt off and bleeding as well, which made for a stark contrast given her bubbly persona, perhaps even garnered her some sympathy among the WQ2020 fans. On the other end, Tai was coming off a win over Monster Ishimura and looked every bit as dominant as she should, coming across as an absolute bulldozer by the final bell. Rating: 37 Individual performances: Iha 24, Tai 49 Tag Team Showcase match Unholy Demon Army vs WARRIORS Of GLORY (Koiso & Kawashima) Koiso & Kawashima were given a proper team name this time and, as the broadcast duo explained, this has to be due to Kawashima now agreeing on a deal to regularly perform on WQ2020 shows. However, the focus was on Onryo's new mysterious partner, a youngster with striking face paint and equally impressive aerial moves, at least for a rookie like she appears to be. WARRIORS Of GLORY put on a hellacious fight, but between Onryo's experience and her partner's drive to make a good impression, they pushed too hard and lost the match in an instant when the newcomer reversed a roll up to pin Koiso. Rating: 42 Individual performances: ?? 28, Onryo 41, Koiso 47, Kawashima 47 Junior Division Singles match Chitose Ariwara vs Emiko Miyoshi Another face that occasionaly appears in WQ2020 shows is the veteran Chitose Ariwara, who found herself in the ring with the returning Emiko Miyoshi. Not seen in a while, Miyoshi made the best of the opportunity she was given here and matched her more experienced opponent in terms of big moves and high spots, eventually cradling her for the pin. Rating: 48 Individual performances: Ariwara 33, Miyoshi 47 Tag Team Deathmatch Cannibal Crew vs The Hooligan Sisters Both teams have been somewhat floundering as of late, but let us not forget that Cannibal Crew are the first ever holders of the WQ2020 Blood Sisters belts. On the flipside, the Hooligan Sisters have been steadily improving since their debut as young lions, so this came across very much as a fight for the future; maybe not a passing of the torch per se, but certainly as a clash of hungry youngsters on the rise against veterans looking to put them in their place and maintain their spot on the totem pole. The deciding factor however was Monster Ishimura, who tipped the scales in favour of the Hooligan Sisters when she appeared -after a ref bump, of course- to get her payback for Etelka's interference in her match against Tai last month. Etelka got hit with a Squash Powerbomb that shook the ring and as soon as she -and the ref- got back up, the Sisters had lined up the Penalty Kick that gave them the win. Rating: 49 Individual performances: Maneater 53, Etelka 48, Helena 39, Hannah 48 Trios Deathmatch Death Triangle vs The Bloody Hand Morisue came out with his shoulder taped, perhaps explaining why he was on the sidelines last month. Of course, this provided a target for Death Triangle who tried to work it over. There was also the ongoing mini rivalry of Kitsune Danger and Hiroshi Morisue that made for some interesting interactions and it also played into the finish of the big man passing out to the Kajahara Claw. Referee Kyoko Okuda decided to award the match to Death Triangle and apparently The Bloody Hand contested that call. Fans seemed equally split at the shady finish and clearly no one wanted to pull out the rulebook and look up the specifics of a deathmatch. Either way, this arguing set up the stage for what would happen next after the match was over... Rating: 61 Individual performances: Majima 60, Danger 70, Mushashibo 55, Yumaniac 52, Morisue 43, Konoe 51 So with the Bloody Hand arguing amongst themselves and with the ref after the loss, Zeshin Makioka walked out with a mic in hand and from the top of the entrance ramp cut a promo about this group being a bunch of losers; they've accomplished nothing of significance in their time together and he's had enough, he's quitting The Bloody Hand and Warrior Queen 2020 altogether! Rating: 36 WQ2020 Queen’s Heart title three way match Lady Lotus vs Lady San Juan vs Pinky Perez Apparently Lady Lotus decided to not only grant LSJ a rematch, but she made it a triple threat to also include Pinky Perez. The commentators had little time to discuss whether that was a power move by the overconfident champion or if she was being suicidal as she could lose the belt without getting pinned, because all three women immediately set off to have a match at a frantic pace. Every woman had some sort of tension with the other participants and it was highlighted in various segments of the match: Current and former champion in Lady Lotus and LSJ, champion and original challenger when Perez was involved, the whole "stealing the spotlight" beef between Perez and LSJ... then there was the clash of styles. Perez really stole the show here with her lucha libre aerial antics, whereas Lady Lotus brought the technical super junior style of Japan, blending speed and agility with a solid technical foundation. The surprise was seeing Lady San Juan carve a spot for herself here not just as a powerhouse, but also dipping her toes in hardcore territory when she tapped into that Puerto Rican wild brawl style to take the fight into the audience and slam her opponents against chairs or the barricade. Of course, the deathmatch afficionados of WQ2020 appreciated every bit of it, which gave the champion even more heat when she pulled off a Senton Bomb off the top turnbuckle on LSJ to win the match and retain the title. Rating: 64 Individual performances: Lotus 56, LSJ 49, Perez 65 Lady Lotus didn't leave the night without a challenger though... or perhaps an ally, given their shared past in 5SSW? Hard to tell, as the two only had a staredown that ended in wicked smiles; nothing was spoken and you'd have to attend next month's show to find out. Rating: 43 Show rating: 53

I'm not biased in any way towards masked workers in this save, but come to think of it, Lady Lotus is the first masked wrestler to claim the title after the two masked gaijin in LSJ and Perez. There's been a bit of hot potatoing with the Queen's Heart title, but it's absolutely intentional. It's supposed to match the high octane, anything can happen vibe of the Junior Division.

Savage Slam Thursday, Week 2, September 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.333 viewers on All Japan TV) Tag Team Deathmatch w/ The Hooligan Sisters vs The Bloody Hand Third time's the charm and with three sold out shows in a row, Warrior Queen 2020 are without doubt on the rise. So are the Hooligan Sisters it seems, who got the opening spot here in a high profile match against representatives of the Bloody Hand. Taheiji Konoe was surprisingly tame at ringside and somehow avoided any physicality, yet he did get the occasional chance to distract the ref or an opponent. Between this interference and their opponents' skill, the Sisters couldn't score the outcome to match their solid performance and Hannah ended up staring at the lights after she took the Purgatorium from a returning Dr. Yumaniac in her first match after wrapping up her band's tour. Rating: 56 Individual performances: Makioka 61, Yumaniac 52, Helena 41, Hannah 47 Junior Division Singles match Edo Phoenix IV vs Pinky Perez This being the only junior division match on the card, Phoenix and Perez went all out to deliver a high flying spectacle for the audience. The flashy aerial lucha style was what this bout was built upon, although Phoenix also threw in a couple of slams and bombs that got a good pop. It should also be noted that Lady Lotus was calling the action alongside the usual broadcast team and she liked what she saw, all the way up to the finish of Perez making her comeback to deliver the Pink Butterfly Powerbomb for the win. Rating: 58 Individual performances: Phoenix 52, Perez 61 After the match, it seemed as though Perez is being built up as the next challenger for Lady Lotus but it was Lady San Juan who interrupted the staredown to cut a promo on the new champion and request a rematch. Although there was no immediate response from Lady Lotus, Perez was clearly annoyed that LSJ would steal her spotlight. Rating: 49 Tables Deathmatch Hiroshi Morisue vs Kitsune Danger Right before this match, a short video package aired, centered around two spots from last month's match: Danger's suicide dive to the outside and Morisue giving her the brainbuster on the floor. The Tables Deathmatch stipulation was then announced and the two competitors made their entrances for what was sure to be a bloodbath. There was a certain spot wher Morisue took a bunch of nasty unprotected chair shots to the head that's sure to find itself into some montage or two, though given his age and history it was a bit cringe-inducing in regards to rattling his already busted up head. To make matters worse, Danger tried to give him a receipt but couldn't lift him up for a brainbuster on the apron, so the two ended up landing awkardly on the floor in what would hardly classify as a DDT. Another high moment of the match had to be Kitsune Danger, all bloodied up, giving herself the Kajahara Claw as a way to fire herself up; this was batshit crazy as a concept and fans loved it, to the point where it wouldn't be surprising if she incorporates it in her regular arsenal as a comeback moment. Both competitors shone through the match but it was Morisue who got the last (mad) laugh when he finally scooped his opponent up and gave her the Running Powerslam through a table set up against a corner. Rating: 45 Individual performances: Morisue 41, Danger 63 Dog Collar Deathmatch Monster Ishimura vs Unstoppable Tai According to the broadcast team, Ishimura requested the dog collar stipulation to ensure her former teammate turned enemy was always going to be at arm's length. Tai came out all cocky after she'd manage to outsmart Ishimura last month and once the bell rang, the two monsters just charged at each other for a big crash, instead of the usual tug-of-war shenanigans one tends to see in such matches. Ishimura gave up what little technique she has to just brutishly attack Tai, overcome as she was with emotion, whereas Tai played the smart and methodical heel with savage efficiency. Ishimura got her face busted up, Tai wrapped the chain around her fist to punch the wound, then grind the steel against it. It was a gruesome visual and there was legitimate concern that Ishimura might pass out due to extreme blood loss, but Tai wasn't having any of it. After bullying referee Kyoko Okuda once or twice when she tried to check, she hoisted Ishimura up and brought her down hard with a Tai Bomber for the three count. Rating: 41 Individual performances: Ishimura 38, Tai 49 WQ2020 Queen of the Deathmatch title match w/w/ Naoko Majima (with Fujiko Mushashibo) vs Etelka the Hun (with Maneater) Apparently after beating Ishimura last month, Etelka was deemed worthy of a title shot and there's no doubt Majima was all too happy to step up to the challenge. Again, the seconds were mostly there for moral support and drama, leaving the scheduled competitors to have the full focus. Etelka did her part as the big brutish warrior against the smaller but tenacious Majima, moving slow, absorbing damage and slamming the champion as hard as she could every time she had a chance. Majima sold for a good chunk of the match when she wasn't launching herself onto the challenger or whacking Etelka with anything she could get her hands on, but no matter whether she was on attack or offence, she had the fans behind her every second of the way. This was all about inner fire and warrior spirit, something Majima proved she has in spades by kicking out of every bomb Etelka dropped on her, until she managed to reverse a powerslam to turn things around and build up to a Coiling Strike to retain. Bloodied Yet Unbowed Sunday, Week 2, August 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (5.443 viewers on All Japan TV). Junior Division Singles match Rika Tsujimura vs WARRIOR Koiso To everyone else, this seemed like a predictable showcase match but for Koiso it was a chance to prove herself. The youngster entered the bout full of fire and unleashed a ton of offence on her opponent, before the more experienced Tsujimura managed to bring down the pace of the bout and catch a break. She then proceeded to punish the young lioness for her insolence with an array of knee strikes or moves that dropped her on her knee, such as backbreakers and atomic drops. Koiso’s inner flame would not be extinguished though and she kept kicking out of everything, to the point where it started to feel like this could finally be the match she’ll win! This wasn’t the case of course, but being able to cause this doubt was truly magical and despite falling to a Running Knee Bomb, Koiso seems to be primed for a bright future in WQ2020. Rating: 47 Individual performances: Tsujimura 44, Koiso 42 Junior Division Singles match Petra Forsberg vs Romi Yamato Forsberg is the only non-Japanese member of Idol Queens, but with the trio’s “annoying pop singers” act gradually losing steam, her in-ring skill has allowed her to stay afloat in WQ2020; case in point, this match against ring general Romi Yamato that carried her to a surprisingly watchable bout for about ten minutes, before she floored her with a Yamatotal for the pin. Rating: 52 Individual performances: Forsberg 39, Yamato 55 Junior Division Singles match Edo Phoenix IV vs Nami Genda Phoenix walked into this match after a string of defeats, motivated to turn things around, while Genda was coming off a single big loss as she failed to capture gold. Both competitors had a point to prove, which in turn drove them to put a lot of effort into the match. Fighting spirit aside, this one went heavy on the spots, giving fans plenty of moments to react to from both sides, as it was kept rather competitive. After a while, it started to feel like the match could end at any moment just as long as one of the two fighters got lucky enough to land a single big move. That someone ended up being Phoenix and all it took was an Avalanche Blaze of Glory ‘12 off the top. Rating: 55 Individual performances: Phoenix 55, Genda 46 Singles Deathmatch Etelka the Hun vs Monster Ishimura Before the match, Unstoppable Tai came out with her arm in a sling to join the commentary team. It’s been well documented that she dislocated her shoulder wrestling for 5SSW recently, which apparently led to Etelka replacing her. Not too terrible a spin, this allowed for a refreshing matchup in the Ishimura-Tai rivalry while also letting Etelka shine in a high profile match. The Hungarian pulled through too, carrying Ishimura to a solid hoss fight for almost fifteen minutes. She almost fell to the big beast even, but Tai thought otherwise and involved herself in the match when she smacked an unsuspecting Ishimura in the head with a chair. Etelka capitalized to get the pin and Tai shocked the audience when she ripped her bandaging to powerbomb Ishimura after the end of the match, thus revealing she’s already healed up and all of this was a set up from the beginning! Rating: 38 Individual performances: Etelka 43, Ishimura 38 Speaking of injuries and shock moments, Dr. Yumaniac made her WQ2020 return after the end of her band’s tour to announce that Taheiji Konoe also wasn’t medically cleared to wrestle, for real this time. However, Hiroshi Morisue would be stepping into the ring in his place, thus the tag team title match would indeed be taking place regardless. This brought out Death Triangle who cut a quick promo about how men shouldn’t be allowed to wrestle for the WQ2020 Blood Sisters belts anyway, only for Makioka to grab the mic and declare that the sole reason the Bloody Hand were competing for gold was to get their hands on the belts so they could destroy them! His part got a good reaction from the audience and with Dr. Yumaniac seconding the challengers, Naoko Majima decided to also stick around and support the champions. Rating: 36 WQ 2020 Blood Sisters tag titles match w/w/ Deadly Alliance (with Naoko Majima) vs The Bloody Hand (with Dr. Yumaniac) This one started off violent and chaotic, with the action spilling out of the ring pretty soon and Kitsune Danger launching herself with a plancha onto Morisue. This cleared some space for Makioka to do some actual wrestling against Mushashibo, easily bullying her around thanks to his power advantage. Kitsune Danger recovered in time to give her teammate a breather, but just as Death Triangle were starting to turn things around, a distraction from Dr. Yumaniac allowed Morisue to pull Kitsune Danger through the ropes and give her a receipt with a brainbuster onto the floor. Dr. Yumaniac's intervention was all Naoko Majima needed to get herself involved and for a while, things resembled a 3vs3 brawl. Mushashibo pulled the ropes down to send a charging Morisue over the rope, the big man crashing onto Majima and Dr. Yumaniac, a spot that took the veteran and the seconds out of action for a decent enough chunk of time that allowed the champions to double team Makioka. After smashing a light tube over his head, Mushashibo DDT'd him onto the shattered glass for a two count, then tagged her partner in. Kitsune Danger did a slingshot splash onto Makioka, who was still laying on the shards, but again he kicked out. Third time was the charm though, as Kitsune Danger picked up a handful of shattered glass and put him in the Kajahara Claw for the submission win. Rating: 52 Individual performances: Mushashibo 51, Danger 66, Makioka 59, Morisue 44 WQ2020 Queens Heart title match Lady San Juan © vs Lady Lotus Lady Lotus had every chance to amaze the audience with her smooth high flying style, although support was split; some fans were cheering for her as the big new name to join the roster, while others still viewed her as an invading outsider. Lady San Juan did her best but couldn't keep up with the pace and aerial action, so she decided to switch her approach and utilize a more power-based style as she began dropping the bombs after the ten minute mark. Turned out to be too little too late though and with the tempo of the match never slowing down, Lady Lotus used her agility to avoid her opponents slower but more impactful moves, gradually gaining the upper hand until she sealed the deal with a huge Senton Bomb off the top rope. Rating: 61 Individual performances: LSJ 51, Lady Lotus 59 Show rating: 52

Warning from the Past Thursday, Week 2, July 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 1.000 fans in attendance [SOLD OUT] (4.763 viewers on All Japan TV) Death Triangle came out to open the show, proudly presenting a belt each as they celebrated their spot on top of the mountain. Kitsune Danger and Fujiko Mushashibo announced that the opening three way tag team deathmatch would be held to determine the next contenders to their WQ2020 Blood Sisters titles, but "Mad Dog" Majima upped the ante when she revealed she already has not one, but two challengers for her WQ Queen of the Deathmatch title! Not only that, but she is mad enough to defend it against both of them at the same time. And as if that wasn't crazy enough, those two opponents will be the promotion's biggest mastodons, Monster Ishimura and Unstoppable Tai! Rating: 49 Three Way Tag Team Deathmatch Cannibal Crew vs The Bloody Hand vs The Hooligan Sisters The tag team champions joined the broadcast team for commentary here, driving the point home that this match would determine their next title opponents. The match itself was held under elimination rules, so the Hooligan Sisters were given the early shine as the more intense, energetic of the bunch before they were unceremoniously elimitated after Etelka and Makioka simultaneously put them through tables on opposite sides of the ring. The elimination cleared up some space, enough actually for Konoe to attempt his Animalistic Gore and miss, putting himself through a table that had been set up against one of the corners. Makioka took a beating for a bit, but suddenly turned things around thanks to the Zeshin Impact, a new move he recently debuted in a SAISHO ring that's made him viral on wrestling social media. Manhunter got clubbed in the head with an unprotected shot of light tubes taped together that created a spectacular burst, Etelka powerbombed Makioka off the apron and through the timekeeper's table and in the climax of the match, Konoe hit the Hun with an Animalistic Gore onto the exposed turnbuckle for the final pin. Rating: 50 Individual performances: Maneater 55, Etelka 47, Makioka 62, Konoe 51, Helena 46, Hannah 48 Singles Deathmatch Hiroshi Morisue vs Piper Hale Despite her losing streak, Piper Hale has been steadily growing her fanbase thanks to her growing skill, charisma, tenacity and willingness to face absolutely anyone. This match was no exception and she went toe to toe with the Warrior Engine veteran, pushing the big man who had to work in order to keep up with her. Hale almost got the pin at one point, but the battle hardened Morisue wouldn't stay down that easy. This forced Hale to try bigger and bigger moves, which in turn made her reckless and all it took was a second too long climbing the top rope; Morisue rushed in, picked her up on his shoulder and hit the Running Powerslam for the pin. Rating: 46 Individual performances: Morisue 46, Hale 46 Junior Division Showcase match Edo Phoenix IV vs Emiko Miyoshi Fans, especially female fans, were overjoyed to see Miyoshi make a return after she legitimately broke her arm a while back. Phoenix was set to rain on her parade though and the injury gave him a clear target to aim for. The masked man heeled it up to a good response from the fans, blending stiff strikes to the arm with flashy rolling submission holds. Miyoshi displayed a lot of passion in her attempts as she sold for sympathy, before reversing one of her opponent's many rolling locks into a cradle for the three count. Rating: 48 Individual performances: Phoenix 49, Miyoshi 39 Lady San Juan & Pinky Perez vs Lady Lotus & Romi Yamato This was the real main event, moved down a slot to not diminish the title's shine but it was all about Lady Lotus making her WQ2020 debut after her challenge for Lady San Juan's belt. Of course this wasn't the only storytelling aspect of the match: Lady Lotus found herself teaming with 5SSW loyalist Romi Yamato, while on the babyface side of things, LSJ was teaming up with the woman she beat to become champion in the first place. As one might expect, this was a high flying spectacle that popped the fans with every spot, although all four ladies knew how to pace themselves and keep things together to not burn out the crowd. In the end, it came down to teamwork. While Perez and LSJ aren't the heel characters who would make uncomfortable bedfellows, they didn't seem hellbent on giving 100% either. The will was there, but it was dulled and Perez payed the price when she took a Senton Bomb and the pin from Lady Lotus. A strong debut that did a lot towards establishing the newcomer as a credible threat for the title. Rating: 67 Individual performances: Yamato 56, Lotus 59, Perez 66, LSJ 52 WQ2020 Queen of the Deathmatch title match To hear Majima announce this match at the start of the show was madness, but to see her in the ring with both Unstoppable Monsters really drove the point home from a visual standpoint as well. Majima was in deep water, completely willingly and stacking the deck against herself. Obviously, this made her a mega babyface in the eyes of the fans, who like nothing more than an absolute asskicker as their champion. There was one thing working in her favour though, and that was the animosity between the two former teammates. Indeed, while Ishimura and Tai made short work of Majima early on, they had the classic spot of breaking up each other's pin attempts, which led to them tossing Majima out of the ring on order to focus on demolishing each other. Fans got another dose of the two wrestlers hossing it up, before a recovered Majima returned to the ring with a chair in hand to make up for her size disadvantage. Already reeling from their clash, Tai and Ishimura took chair shots and Majima hit a few moves that really got her fire going. Playing to her reputation (some would say criticism) of fighting like a chupacabra on a sugar rush (again, some would say with no sense of pacing or psychology), Majima turned up the speed of her offence as she bounced from one target to the other, before she hit the Coiling Strike on Ishimura for the final three count and a thunderous applause of approval from the fans that saw her retain against all odds. Queen’s Quest Wednesday, Week 2, June 2021 Iwata Hall, Tohoku Region, 976 fans in attendance (4.776 viewers on All Japan TV) In a twist of the frequent pop performance openings by Idol Queens, this show kicked off with a spectaculer live performance by Dr. Yumaniac's band, Gasp. Fans seemed to enjoy the heavier guitar sounds and screams, then after the finish Dr. Yumaniac announced that this is the official start of the band's tour, promoting it while letting fans know of her absence for a while. Rating: 38 Six Person Anything Goes Deathmatch Death Triangle vs The Bloody Hand Dr. Yumaniac's boys were up in action next against Death Triangle and just as you'd expect, this was a bloody, spectacular mess of a match. Participants made full use of the "anything goes" stipulation to go beyond simple weapon use and ringside brawls, giving fans a close up of the action as they slugged it out all through the seats for a good fifteen minutes until Death Triangle gave Morisue a triple powerbomb through a table for the pin. A true hoss match from WQ2020's two biggest women, this one surprisingly ended when they hit the fifteen minute time limit. Wait, time limits are a thing in Warrior Queen 2020?!? Rating: 41 Individual performances: Ishimura 34, Tai 43 WQ2020 Queens Heart title match Lady San Juan © vs Nami Genda Fresh off her title win, Lady San Juan defended the WQ2020 Queen's Heart title against her #1 contender and winner of the first ever Wire X match in the company, Nami Genda. The challenger has been on the rise as of late and indeed she proved she can hang with the best in the match, at times even outperforming the champion. The success of this match lies in making Genda come across as a legitimate threat that could realistically pull off the win and not a run-of-the-mill opponent for an easy, predictable first defence. LSJ had to work really hard, absorbing a good amount of damage with a persistence that won the fans over and frustrated Genda enough to take increasing risks, which in turn led her to hitting a splash that found only mat. Few big moves and a San Juan Slam later, LSJ got the three count and the audience exploded in cheers. But it still wasn't as big as what came next... Rating: 46 Individual performances: LSJ 43, Genda 47 What the... Lady Lotus! In Warrior Queen 2020, hot off the heels of her highly controversial departure from 5SSW! This felt massive and the masked competitor soaked it in, before laying down the gauntlet: She's here now and she wants a shot at gold, which Lady San Juan happily accepted.
