  2. Gods & Goddesses Sunday, Week 3 April 2020 Athens, Southern Mediterranean, Europe Attendance: 78 “Blood Axe” Thorsten Sigurdsson vs “Dutch Courage” West Stryker The opening match was, in theory, a showcase of RotO’s young talent but things were already off to a bad start when from the opening sequence, it became clear these two men just didn’t click with each other. To make matters worse, Stryker hit his opponent with a series of moves that barely registered with the big man, before Sigurdsson responded with a huge forearm that apparently broke Stryker’s jaw for real. The idea was to have the Blood Axe dominate in this match, but between his own sloppiness and the sheer cringe of seeing Stryker thrown around for six minutes before the Standing Powerslam put an end to the bout, this match would best be described as “hopefully forgettable”. Winner: Thorsten Sigurdsson 15 Of course, the reason Sigurdsson was set to dominate the opening match was to build up his implied future match against Petter Eriksson, who made an appearance but was prevented by security from actually laying hands on the Blood Axe after the match. The two men shared an intense staredown and the fans finally came alive, hopefully rescuing the show’s opening from that dreadful first match. 44 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Serena Ventura vs Spider Isako Unlike the opener, this was not only an even, competitive match but also blessed by amazing chemistry as Isako’s stiff hits and dark character seemed to perfectly complement Ventura’s blue collar wrestling and energetic babyface enthusiasm. Momentum of the match shifted back and forth as both ladies pulled off some moves that made the crowd pop but neither was able to get any offense rolling for a significant amount of time. So caught up they were in their fight, they ended up trading blows outside the ring until Ventura essentially took both herself and her opponent out with a suplex that saw both competitors laid out at ringside and eventually counted out. Result: Draw 27 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Cassie O’Peter vs Gypsy Rose Another matchup to turn out elevated by some great chemistry between its participants, this one saw Cassie O’Peter trying to ground the high flying Gypsy Rose. O’Peter almost stole this in the first few seconds of the match as she went straight into her Scorpion Deathlock finisher, which threw fans into an uproar of support for the unfortunate Gypsy, a crowd pleasing high flyer they have yet to see pull off a big win. Fortunately, the Wrestling Nomad was fresh enough to escape her predicament, but the damage was done and she sold it throughout the match to garner sympathy. As the bout went on, Rose’s moves became riskier and her lower body started to give up on her during critical moments, eventually allowing O’Peter to gain control and work her opponent over until she tapped out to her finisher. Winner: Cassie O’Peter 25 INTERMISSION After the break, Nelson Frye and Robert Howard make their entrance, coming to the ring to speak their mind. Frye: Two weeks ago, at March Madness, we lost another 3 on 3 match against the New Breed. Again, because of some outsider interfering. We’re not here to complain about it though. No, we went back to the drawing board, because today’s loss lays the foundation for tomorrow’s victory. Howard: What we realized is the New Breed wins because they have strength in numbers and nothing to really hold them back from breaking the rules. We decided to change that. We have made a case for the creation of RotO Tag Team titles. Frye: We know we’re the best tag team in RotO. We know the New Breed would love to defeat us over championship gold. And we know they wouldn’t risk to make a fool of themselves by losing the belts over a disqualification. Howard: So New Breed… hell, any other tag teams out there, consider yourselves warned. It’s on! 54 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Blair Kerrigan vs Paula Edwards Paula Edwards returned to form here following her shocking loss to Florida Simard and Blair Kerrigan was the one she vented her frustrations on, allowing minimum offense throughout the match. The Dublin native did her best to stay on the move and hit some high impact moves, but the Colorado Crusher was quick to shut her down and pick up the win after toying with her a bit. Winner: Paula Edwards 43 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Florida Simard vs Aud Valkyrie Hot of her last big win, Florida Simard came into this match looking to keep up her momentum, while Valkyrie, who started the tournament with a victory but lost all her following matches, sought to get back on her winning ways. Unfortunately for her, she seemed to lack a certain sharpness to her kicks and strikes, which were thrown with a little less oomph than usual. Failing to really get some damage in against her opponent, Valkyrie stood her ground as best as she could but Simard was on fire and just would not be denied, certainly not by this opponent on this night. Winner: Florida Simard 29 5 way Ladder match for a shot at the RotO Championship title Alberto Montero vs Cesar Sionis vs Giovanni Bruno vs Ryushi Ryusaki vs Tomohiro Yamagata With Dovydas Vidmar defeating Petrov Yakovlev to defend his RotO Championship at March Madness, a new challenger was needed and to determine who that would be, a briefcase with a title match contract was hung above the ring, with five wrestlers competing for it. Three of those five were members of the New Breed, so of course there were fears of a collusion but other than situational alliances to take down Sionis and Yamagata, the three allies had no problem in trying to trick each other and grab the briefcase for themselves. Maybe because of their competitive nature or because they value self interest above all things, Montero, Bruno and Ryusaki pulled off their tricks, failed, then argued and eventually came to blows, making for a dramatic and competitive match of what originally looked like a deck stacked in their favor. Yamagata was able to pull off some high flying moves to pop the crowd, but the New Breed quickly took him out. This left Sionis as the one to add variety later in the match and the DIW veteran made good use of the experience he’s accumulated working deathmatches in the Australian promotion, especially a spot where he charged with a ladder in hand to knock down all three members of the New Breed. Ryusaki was the one who got up first, almost foaming at the mouth with rage and the two men traded stiff shots that built up to a spinning discus clothesline by Ryusaki, followed by a suplex on the very same ladder Sionis had used as a weapon earlier. With the stage finally clear, Ryusaki ascended a ladder and pulled away the briefcase, winning the match and earning a title opportunity for himself. Winner: Ryushi Ryusaki 49 Ryusaki’s music is quickly cut short as Dovydas Vidmar comes out with the RotO Championiship title belt on one shoulder and a mic in hand. Vidmar: Impressive… Most impressive… Also stupid. How do you hope to defeat me after a match like this? Part of me is glad I’ll be having an easy defence, but another part is sad I won’t be getting you at 100%. Meanwhile, Ryusaki has descended from the ladder. Dazed after a physically demanding match, he staggers as he asks for a microphone. Ryusaki: You overconfident bastard… I did not go through hell tonight to waste my title opportunity. I will wipe your face on this mat so hard it’ll erase that smug grin off of it! Security once again comes out to get between the two men and Vidmar is pointed to the backstage as the show ends with him and Ryusaki trading insults off the mic. 61 Show Rating: 48
  3. I don't know why, but I do love a good revenge story like LeGrenier's there. Most of my diaries have such a story somewhere, whether it's BCG vs GCG, GSW vs IPW, any US hardcore promotion vs USPW/SWF etc. I want to see him succeed now. Good writing, both that and the DeMarcus one. Haven't tampered much with B shows, but I do like the presentation. Short, concise and fun. Also, it's probably because of the portrait, but does anyone else also read Marv's talking with a Tony Schiavane voice in their heads? Fans in Kansas seemed to enjoy this more old school southern wrasslin’ approach though, promptly cheering the faces and booing the heels throughout the match. Black Diamond was given the opportunity to learn from some of the biggest names on the QAW roster, even if that translated to mostly selling the heels’ offence, with Anderson & Snyder bringing their trademark smooth teamwork and double team moves. Danielle Sweetheart was, without a shadow of a doubt, the MVP for her team, if not the whole match, but the finish came from Alina America who hit the Southern Lights Bomb on youngling Felicia Luck for the pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Alina America, Danielle Sweetheart & Black Diamond</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">47</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> A show of authority from our American champion there, picking up momentum in light of her scheduled defense next month at QAW Starshow.</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> We know that match is happening, but we don’t know who her challenger will be. True to her last name, Izzy Quick stayed on the move to avoid her opponent and keep going while Vasquez introduced QAW fans to her usual lucha spots for a good pop, making for a match that felt very fluid and impressive, even if it wasn’t wrestled at top gear speed. In the end it all came down to precision and Vasquez was able to use her experience to trap her opponent in a surfboard stretch dead center of the ring, with The Mighty Atom vocally submitting for an unusual finish in comparison to how most of the match had unfolded up to that point.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Catalina Vasquez</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">35</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Catalina Vasquez gets the win and puts everyone on notice, she means business!</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> Like you know anything about business, Alfonso.</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> Now now boys, don’t fight. Payback Inc. on the other hand may be the more regular team, but it’s Parissi who’s had experience as a tag wrestler with other partners and Barton is still learning how to fill in for her predecessors. This setup led to an exciting match that told the story of individuals trying to become teams, a race towards teamwork, in a way. What the rudos had on their side though was LaRue and Cruz at ringside, who provided all the necessary distractions, assists and sneak attacks to ensure their team would stay ahead. Referee Erin Lawrence did her best to officiate the match but there was just too much to keep an eye on, leading to a crucial spot where LaRue caught Guest with a Flash Head Kick outside the ring, knocking her out and forcing Grover to pretty much work the finale of the match alone. Fans tried to cheer the cowgirl on in hopes of a big upset, but the numbers game was just too much for Grover to overcome and Cruz caught her leg for a trip that allowed his girls to hit the Ronin Revenger for the pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Payback Inc.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">52</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Ronin 3 steal another!</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> Damn it!</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> Well well, looks like business isn’t exactly blooming for you either, Ms. Hesketh…</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="xUczrgK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xUczrgK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="iOzT7Xu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iOzT7Xu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose make their way to the ring with mics in hand and an unhappy look on their faces.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rose:</strong> Me and Kate here have something to say. Next month is QAW Starshow, where every title is supposed to be on the line. Well we’re here to set up another match. Us versus the Chaos Connection, or whoever’s got the WWC World Tag Team titles until then. Give us that match and we’ll show you what a real championship match looks like!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">36</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Madre de Dios! Can you imagine such a match?</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> I can and I will do my best to make it happen.</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> What?! That’s preposterous! These girls haven’t proven themselves, why not make it a three way and give Anderson & Snyder a chance too then?</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> Lilly & Rose have paid their dues, maybe not in QAW but they’ve proven themselves to be one of the best teams in the business, which is what got them a contract here in the first place. Anderson & Snyder lost their match tonight.</p><p> <strong>Garcia:</strong> Opportunities earned in QAW and that’s what our next match is all about, a chance to wrestle for the American title as Pamela Rojo, who pinned Alina America, agreed to put her opportunity on the line against Emma May!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="Rz9AS02.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Rz9AS02.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="jSt5WGj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jSt5WGj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Emma May vs Pamela Rojo</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> This was another no-nonesense match, with two hard hitting competitors in it as May’s MMA style (it’s in the name, after all) clashed with the powerhouse approach of Rojo, who’s always heavy on the slams, takedowns and suplexes. The two women played up the stakes of the match as well as their styles’ similarities and differences, with Wichita fans clearly behind the oldschool brawler Rojo, even though some of the younger fans also seemed to be into May’s more modern approach. This storytelling aspect permeated the match from bell to bell and it climaxed into a spectacular finish when May caught Rojo in an armbar, center of the ring. Instead of escaping and too tired to lift her opponent up and slam her back first onto the mat, Rojo simply leaned into the hold. May yanked harder, thinking she was getting the best of her opponent, but little she had noticed in her excitement that her shoulders were now down on the mat, technically a pinning predicament that referee Erin Lawrence counted, giving the win to Rojo!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Pamela Rojo</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">41</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Exhausted but happy with her victory, Pamela Rojo signals for a microphone. For a moment, it’s only her panting onto the mic as she tries to catch her breath until she can talk.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rojo:</strong> Alina… I told you there’s no such thing as friends in this business. As a result, several ladies quickly ended up fighting outside the ring or hitting planchas that eliminated several of their fellow competitors, all of which allowed a specific pairing to play out their part in the middle of the ring. The beginning was made with Torres & Perez locking horns against the QAW Tag Team champions, giving fans a sneak preview of what they can expect next month when these two teams meet. Meanwhile, Hellcat Hernandez and Juana Hurricane were slugging it out at ringside, while Darkness Cat finally responded to the invitation of Alvarado and Millie the Minx with a big double slap that set off their fight. Modesty Pador was the only “free agent” in the match and that played a part as she would get in some of the existing matchups to alter the dynamic. Her presence tipped the scales in the ongoing tag war, leading to the elimination of Torres first, then gradually Punnen, Perez and Honey Badger as well. Raquel Alvarado took advantage of the numbers game to take Darkness Cat out of the match, only for Pador to roll her from behind mid-celebration.</p><p> </p><p> Just like that, it came down to the final four: Hellcat Hernandez, Juana Hurricane, Modesty Pador and Millie the Minx. Juana was finally able to put out Hernandez and it seemed to take a big weight off her shoulders, as she continued to go on a rampage to also eliminate Millie the Minx, but the damage and exhaustion eventually caught up to her and she found herself passing out while caught in Pador’s Crossface.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Modesty Pador</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">46</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="0XLaQLe.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0XLaQLe.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> As soon as the bell rings, Little Miss Perfect who apparently had been hiding in the crowd all this time, jumps the guardrail and hits Pador square in the face with the Shockwave title belt!</p><p> <span style="color:#2E8B57;">30</span></p><p> </p><p> Garcia:[/b] What a cheap shot!</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> What a strategy! (Dazzler and Notorious F.R.E.A.K.) vs The New Breed (Montero & Bruno, with Ryusgi Ruysaki)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Riding a high coming off their win at March Madness, The New Breed opened the show with a match against a debuting team, Freak Out! Coming all the way from his native New Zealand and playing a weird gimmick that’s a cross between an obnoxious male stripper and a campy guru of love, Dazzler was paired with Notorious F.R.E.A.K., a fabulous Frenchman known for his mohawk, piercings, lipstick, PVC full body suits, knee high platform boots and overall weirdness (but not his actual wrestling skills). It was an interesting match, to say the least, given how that team’s raw sexual energy meshed with the sleazy, flirtatious Bruno or Montero’s over-the-top machismo. Bordering on an outright comedy match, this was as entertaining as it had to be to get the show going and Freak Out! introduced themselves to the local audience, while the New Breed picked up an easy win after Montero caught Notorious F.R.E.A.K. in an ankle lock for the submission.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The New Breed</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">35</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="j1PI65F.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/j1PI65F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QU7pAaz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QU7pAaz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ccufL0i.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ccufL0i.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> After the match is over, Ruysaki grabs a microphone and climbs on the ring to join his teammates in celebration.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ruysaki:</strong> Young or old, local or flown in from the other side of the globe, we don’t care who you put in front of us, all we do is knock them down! The Japanese star had a sense of urgency to her wrestling in light of her shocking defeat at the hands of Spider Isako and her life was made easier by the sloppiness on display from Kerrigan. Clearly, her big win over Aud Valkyrie had made the one half of the Dublin Gals a tad overconfident and led to several botched spots, allowing Matsuda an easy victory with a Run-Up Rana into a rolling pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Machiko Matsuda</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">35</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="myom1IR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/myom1IR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="p9Ni2cl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/p9Ni2cl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Aud Valkyrie vs Serena Ventura</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Both ladies were fighting for bragging rights here, as they’ve clearly fallen behind in the points race by this point. That didn’t make the match any less exciting though and Valkyrie did a great job of presenting herself as the fading veteran down on her luck who’s struggling for that one last huzzah. Sadly for her, it was Ventura who managed to score the win at her expense, the young German looking thrilled at her win over the veteran, who she offered a handshake to after the match.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Serena Ventura</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">22</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">INTERMISSION</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif" data-src="https://49.media.tumblr.com/f253011c31ab6ba74be2c05e2fbc0128/tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="zEPeklq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zEPeklq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QDX9qG8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QDX9qG8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Gypsy Rose vs MAYA</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Coming back from the break, two fan favourites clashed in the final women’s match of the night as the high flying Gypsy Rose took on the bubbly MAYA. The Japanese wrestler entered the contest with a single-minded focus on her opponent’s legs in an attempt to ground her, first with stiff kicks and as the match went on with more mat based holds. Rose did her best to stay on the move and utilize her high impact offense, but MAYA withstood the onslaught until her strategy began to pay dividends. Yamagata takes the cue and matches the opening salvo with a few moves of his own, but being a more familiar foe to Ruysaki, he gets shut down when goes for a senton and lands back first on the raised knees of Ruysaki who had been expecting the move. The heels proceed to cut the ring in half and isolate Yamagata on their corner, while Skye riles up the fans in expectation of the comeback and hot tag. Yamagata gets a few hope spots but somehow always gets cut off, until Yakovlev tries to powerbomb him, at which point he’s able to roll through and launch the Belarussian fighter across the ring. With both men down it’s a race for the tag and Yamagata gets there first to tag his partner. Wasting no time, Skye hops over the ropes, steps on his teammate’s back and propels himself across the ring to kick Yakovlev into Ruysaki and prevent the tag. Gotta get the marketing stuff right if you wanna make a name for yourselves, I suppose. See, we get where you’re coming from. New guys trying to break out at the expense of the already established ones. That’s ambition. I applaud that. But it means nothing without respect. There is a reason that guys like us or Dovydas Vidmar are at the top of the food chain. Wrestling is not for the weak and we’ve already been doing it for twenty years, each. Aud Valkyrie paced herself and tried to slow the match down with sharp kicks to her opponent’s legs, in hopes of taking away her speed, mobility and a large part of her moveset. Kerrigan would hit some big moves to pop the crowd before making a rookie mistake that allowed Valkyrie to take control of the match and this trend continued for most of the match until the Dublin native seemed to figure out the pattern and managed to top a sequence of offensive moves with her Top Rope Legdrop finisher for the pinfall victory.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Blair Kerrigan</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">28</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="FwpPMkS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FwpPMkS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="6PcleHR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6PcleHR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Tqjtcjw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Tqjtcjw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="18V1J9o.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/18V1J9o.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Cesar Sionis & Tomohiko Yamagata vs Transylvanian Anger (Snowman & Acheron)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Sionis and Yamagata have been having a hard time since the debut of RotO and needed a victory bad, so teaming up here was a challenge to begin with. It didn’t help that their opponents were two big, tough men from Romania who really looked like they were out to hurt somebody. Acheron came with a mean streak and a reputation of legitimately injuring his opponents, which made for some hard hitting exchanges with Sionis and a hard fight for the smaller, high flying Yamagata. The NGW Dojo graduate took a beating at the hands of his opponents but was somehow able to escape using his speed and make the hot tag to Sionis. The Greek Punisher now had the unenviable task of facing up with Abominable Snowman, a savage neanderthal of a wild man that seemed to come straight out of the 70s. Hits barely seemed to register with the big man and slamming him was out of the question. All he did was take a few blows, then pick up Sionis and ram him back first into the corner. Yamagata tagged himself in and shot inside using the ropes for a kick that sent the Snowman reeling, just the opening he needed to start moving around and get some offense going. Apparently his plan was to come from all angles, confuse and exhaust his opponent but all it took was an instinctive reaction from the Romanian, who got his foot up and nearly kicked Yamagata’s head off his shoulders before pinning him for three.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Transylvanian Anger</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">40</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">INTERMISSION</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><span>http://49.media.tumblr.com/f253011c31ab6ba74be2c05e2fbc0128/tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif</span></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="q0kRCjx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/q0kRCjx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QDX9qG8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QDX9qG8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Cassie O’Peter vs MAYA</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Things started off hot after the break, with a fast paced match that got the audience back into the groove as both competitors set their brakes on fire and put the pedal to the metal. MAYA was gunning for a win after a bumpy ride so far in the tournament, while Cassie O’Peter had proved herself a dark horse in the race and wanted to continue her rise. There was a lot of quality grappling going back and forth in a pretty even, competitive bout but the pressure seemed to catch up with O’Peter who seemed to slip during a couple of crucial spots, allowing MAYA to put her in a Triangle Choke for the submission.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: MAYA</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">43</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Women’s championship Round Robin tournament</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="63uvfJZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/63uvfJZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="mokJyn1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mokJyn1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Florida Simard vs Paula Edwards</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> No doubt one of the most highly anticipated matchups in the tournament, this one did not disappoint. Two of NGW’s next generation of women that never really got the chance to shine before that promotion closed, Simard and Edwards were also regarded as the two most likely candidates to win the entire tournament and that fact really brought the big fight atmosphere to this match. Simard used hit-and-run tactics to wear her opponent down and get some damage done without receiving any, but that’s easier said than done given the reach and killer instinct of Edwards. The massive American was able to get plenty of offense in, though Simard was the first to push her into a somewhat even match, unlike the one-sided affairs that Edwards’ matches usually are. Hope really built up for the French competitor, who did her best to stay in the fight and she was rewarded with a win out of nowhere when Erdwards got a bit too confident and let her guard down, allowing Simard to roll her up for a shocking pinfall victory!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Florida Simard</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">46</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="AhotWa7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/AhotWa7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="QU7pAaz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QU7pAaz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ccufL0i.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ccufL0i.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="j1PI65F.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/j1PI65F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Nelson Frye, Robert Howard & Petter Eriksson vs The New Breed (Montero, Bruno & Ryusaki)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> This was the next chapter in the ongoing story between the New Breed and the NGW veterans, following Ryusaki’s interference during the last show’s main event and his allegiance with the hungry youngsters. As such, the storytelling element was played up, especially since the six man setup allowed every wrestler to get in, do their part and recuperate at ringside, initially at least. Montero and Ryusaki did most of the heavy lifting for their team, with Bruno playing spoiler from the outside in a showcase of character and some of his sneaky comedy spots, like when he tied Robert Howard’s boot laces to the ringbost while Montero and Ryusaki were beating him down on the corner. Speaking of Howard, he took most of the beating for his team and sold it all for cheers from the audience, though part of it may have been improv in order to cover up him being off and having a sloppy night. At the time, Frye was the legal man so the attack was not eligible to force a disqualification, but it was enough to take a lot out of Peterson, who spent most of the remainder of the match reeling at ringside. Frye really fought an uphill battle after that and he tried to tap into his teamwork with Howard to pull through, but the Louisiana Pitbull had taken a lot of damage by that point and got caught in a sleeper hold from Ryusaki that choked him out.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The New Breed</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">53</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="mjjRZhw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mjjRZhw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="bGfQcLk.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bGfQcLk.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Dovydas Vidmar makes his entrance, carrying the RotO Championship on one shoulder. 17. QAW Big City Breakdown 2020 Date: Fri W3 Apr 2020 Location: Dallas, TX Attendance: 458, Viewers: 12.042 Garcia: Good evening folks, Alberto Garcia here, coming to you live from Dallas, Texas! Brayfield: Finally, we’re back to the Lone Star State. Garcia: What a night this is shaping up to be, we have finally reached the finals of Commissioner Bomb’s Tag Team tournament, with a shot at the titles on the line. Who will be the winning team to face Marie Punnen and Honey Badger at The Showdown in June? Brayfield: This has to be one of your “rhetorical questions-a-go-go”, right? Of course Ava Anderson and Lilly Snyder will win, and once they do that, they’ll move on to become four time tag team champions! Hesketh: Not so fast, Big Boss Man! They have some talented opponents in Pinky Perez and Marianna Torres to overcome first, plus we got a whole show planned before that big main event! Let’s take it to Pamela Rojo and our Commissioner in the ring! Pamela Rojo and Commissioner Bomb are indeed inside the ring as the show starts. If they did their entrance routines on the way in, they did it before the show began airing on the Women’s Wrestling Network. Rojo: I’ve been in this business long enough to know, things can change in an instance. This is why I called you out here. This is me hedging my bet. Last month, at American Lucha, I pinned the QAW American champion, Alina America, clean as a whistle, dead center in the middle of this ring. I know this puts me in line for a shot at the title, but I want to officially hear it from you, in public, in front of all these people and with the world as our witness watching from around the globe on the Women’s Wrestling Network. Two months from now, QAW Showdown, Pamela Rojo versus Alina America for the American title! <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/8Yq4XWJrd3A" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Commissioner Bomb’s mic is immediately drowned out by the music of Emma May. The cocky fighter makes her way out to the ring and grabs a microphone of her own. May: Now hold it right there. You may have been the one to pin the champion, but that’s only because I was busy elsewhere. You know it’s true Pam, but hey, I’m not one to argue or suck up for my chances. I’m a fightin’ girl. So here’s what I came here to say. Alina will defend her title at The Showdown in June. Meanwhile, how about Pamela Rojo versus Emma May next month, for the right to be in that title match? Rojo: No no no,I’ve already earned my shot! You see… Bomb: Done Rojo: What?! Bomb: Next month is the BattleBowl and as big a deal as it is, I need more matches than a single Battle Royal for the show. I like the sound of you two facing each other and from what I’m hearing, these fans like it too. I’m booking it! 50 Garcia: Huge match for next month! Doesn’t feel fair for Rojo, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not excited to see them go against one another. Brayfield: Fair? Life ain’t fair, Alfonso. Emma May saw her chance and took it. She’ll fight for that spot. You have to respect that. Hesketh: She sure played her cards right, now Rojo can’t back down from her challenge. Brayfield: And the Commissioner got herself a big match for next month. Hesketh: She was made Commissioner for a reason, listen to these fans, she’s giving them what they want to see. Felicia Luck vs Modesty Pador The opening match was a showcase of the next generation, featuring the first ever female graduate of the MAW Mid Atlantic Boot Camp, Felicia Luck, against Modesty Pador, who has been trained by the well known Canadian Dragon. For all their credentials though, both ladies clearly lack the experience to work anything spectacular so early in their careers, so they stuck to a clearly scripted and rehearsed routine from bell to bell. Still, fans were very into the match, whether because of them being forgiving of the rookies or still riding a high from the opening segment and it made for a seemingly better experience than the actual in-ring action would suggest, finishing with Felicia Luck running out of luck and tapping out to her opponent’s Crossface. Winner: Modesty Pador 25 Garcia: Another win for young Modesty Pador, I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss her like our QAW Shockwave champion did last month. Brayfield: The Clenched Fist girls won’t be happy with Luck’s loss here, but thankfully the leader’s out next to show everyone how it’s done. Hesketh: Hellcat Hernandez injured Alexis Lee Littlefeather in their match last month, apparently on purpose, and Sonnaz Shah is out for revenge. She requested a match against the Hellcat and it’s up next! Hellcat Hernandez vs Sonnaz Shah As the announcing team pointed out prior to the match, Shah was out to make Hernandez pay for what she did to Littlefeather and that story was played up throughout the match. The Iranian and youngest member of the Storm Front assaulted her opponent before introductions were over, setting the tone for their fast paced match that followed. Caught by surprise, Hernandez sold her opponent’s offense for the opening part of the match, before she motioned for a timeout and rolled out of the ring to regroup. Shah gave chase to the outside, only for Hernandez to reverse her move and whip her to the barricade. Extremely comfortable in a brawl outside the ring, Hernandez lay into her opponent to make up for the ground lost, all the while talking trash and looking for ways to use the environment for maximum damage, as if she was looking to injure the young rookie as well. Once she was happy with the damage inflicted, Hernandez took things back to the ring for the pin. Realizing her predicament, Shah made a desperate recovery to get back in the match and caught her returning opponent by surprise, but her overexcitement and inexperience led her to make a mistake when she closed in for a fisherman suplex. Hernandez powered her way out of the setup hold and shover Shah away to retaliate with a Running Bulldog and cover for the 1-2-3. Winner: Hellcat Hernandez 42 After the match is over, referee Erin Lawrence raises the hand of Hellcat Hernandez in victory but the leader of the Clenched Fist yanks it away and continues to stomp on the fallen Shah! Attempts to pull her away only end with the ref shoved away and it seems like Sonnaz Shah is at the mercy (or lack thereof) of fate and her opponent! <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/CGfKi6kpdTQ" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> It’s Juana Hurricane! Not seen for months since January’s Starshow, the leader of the Storm Front got a hero’s welcome as she rushed down to the ring for the save, forcing Hernandez to roll out under the bottom rope before Juana could get her hands on her. 27 Garcia: Juana is back! She’s back! Hesketh: She and Sonnaz lost their match to Hernandez and Felicia Luck in January, looks like that sent her back to the drawing board but she’s here now and look at the intensity in her eyes! She wants a piece of Hellcat Hernandez! Brayfield: And I want to see my girls win a tournament, can we go on with the show? Garcia: Speaking of which, that’s not the only tag team match happening tonight, folks! The legendary pair of Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose are back in action, against the high flying Darkness Cat and her partner, the debuting Joy Ryder. Here we go! Lilly & Rose vs Darkness Cat and Joy Ryder Lilly & Rose need no introductions, but this is exactly what this match was for Joy Ryder, who went all out to showcase the flashiest moves in her arsenal as she attempted to win over the audience. This complemented the aerial style of her partner (though Ryder is primarily a technical wrestler, even if she’s evolved into a solid all-rounder) as well as their approach of surprising the veteran team. There’s a reason however Lilly & Rose have had so much success in their careers and a reason why they’re regarded as one of the best women’s tag teams in America and that reason was clear on display as they were able to regroup from the initial blitz, turn the match around and secure the win after Lilly caught Joy Ryder with her Lilly Launch Pad finisher for the pin. Winners: Lilly & Rose 49 Garcia: A disappointing loss for Joy Ryder in her debut, but no shame in losing to one of the best teams in this sport. Brayfield: Watch your mouth, Alfonso. There’s only one team on top of that mountain and that’s Anderson & Snyder! Millie: Poor kitty kitty… Alvarado: Kitty lost her match tonight… Millie: And you know why that happened? Because she aligned herself with an untested rookie! I mean… look at yourself, Cat. How much longer can you waste your talent on whatever it is you dragged in? Don’t you want to be on the winning team, for once? Alvarado: What Millie’s trying to say is, we’re nice people. We’re being polite. But there are limits to our patience. We won’t be coming out here for a third time to extend our hand. Join us, or face the consequences of opposing us! 32 Garcia: Strong words from Raquel Alvarado, what’s Darkness Cat going to do? Brayfield: Cats do what cats do and this is one unpredictable cat! Ronin 3 make their entrance, accompanied as always by Vinny Cruz. Toni Parissi and Becca Barton get in the ring and hit the corners to antagonize the audience, but Foxxy LaRue grabs a mic from the announcers’ table and shouts into it for the music to stop. LaRue: Before this match begins, let me make something perfectly clear. Ronin 3 got screwed out of the Tag Team tournament. That’s right, my sisters Toni and Becca there got screwed, because God forbid, if they advanced they’d be knocking out those precious little Tex-Mex girls! Now that injustice calls for retribution and that’s what they did last month. But oh no, it’s not even after that, now all three of us have to face all three members of the Line tonight, just so they can have the last laugh. And I know it’s all because of you, Farrah! Farrah Hesketh looks just as shocked as her broadcast partners and fans in the audience do. LaRue: Don’t give me that doe-eyed look, you! Everyone knows Ashley Grover’s your girl! Hesketh: I don’t know what you’re trying to imply there, Foxxy, but… LaRue: You don’t get to interrupt greatness! I’m talking here! See, you may have fooled everyone by putting Commissioner Bomb in charge, but not me. I know you still got some pull backstage. This is all your doing! Hesketh: This is insane… Cruz: What Foxxy’s trying to say here is, the Line keep getting opportunities at the expense of Ronin 3. So why don’t we spice this up a bit, give both sides something to sweat over? Here’s our offer: whichever team loses tonight, they can’t have any of their members enter the Queen of the Ring tournament in July. Hesketh: I’m not speaking for anyone but myself, but I’d be glad not to have to deal with any of you during our biggest show of the year! Cruz: Oh you’ll come to regret this, trust me. Because Ronin 3 ain’t here to play and Foxxy? She’s… LaRue: I’m the baddest b*tch in this business, that’s who I am! 52 with The Line vs Ronin 3 (with Vinny Cruz) Of all the six women in this match, only Teresa Perez was primarily a high flyer, while the remaining five mostly have a brawl-based approach. This, combined with the tension between the two groups and high stakes involving the upcoming Queen of the Ring tournament made for a slow start to the match that allowed it to build up slowly and steadily. Ashley Grover walked to the middle of the ring and dared LaRue to come back up her talking, but the leader of Ronin 3 sent Toni Parissi instead, saving herself for later in the match. The two women traded blows and Grover quickly got herself in control of a side headlock after a sloppily thrown forearm from the New York Badass. After taking a series of moves, Parissi was able to block an early attempt at a suplex and tag Barton in, the Canadian rushing in to make up for the lost ground. Meanwhile, Grover made the tag to Handley and soon enough, it became a war of attrition between Tex-Mex and Payback Inc, full of quick tags and double team moves. LaRue only teased entering the match but never actually did, garnering herself plenty of heat from the fans, except for the finish where she had Vinny Cruz distract the referee so she could use the ropes to choke Perez while her teammates laid down the punishment on her. Perez sold the attack as if she was legitimately in risk of being choked out and stumbled right into a Flash Head Kick from LaRue who had tagged herself in to score the pin. Winners: Ronin 3 49 Garcia: This is not right! Ronin 3 stole the win! Brayfield: Quit yer whinin’ Alberto, you do what you have to win. Hesketh: I should have seen this coming… Brayfield: Call it like it is, miss. They played you and your gal. Hesketh: You worry about your own “gals” mister Brayfield: That I will, I’m off to take care of business! with Perez & Torres vs Anderson & Snyder (with Boss Man Brayfield) Could this match top the excitement and action of the one that came before it? The two teams seemed to take this as a personal challenge and went all out to have the most jaw-dropping contest possible from start to finish. The resulting showdown proved absolutely worthy of being the finals of the tag team tournament and Pinky Perez in particular made heads turn with her performance. Starting the match for her team, she hit a series of kicks, ranas and lucha arm drags but every time she’d get some offense rolling, her opponents would make the tag and she had to start all over again. The best she got was a near fall on Snyder, before she gave up and tagged her partner in so she could catch her breath. Torres rushed into the ring and kept the match flowing with her slick chain wrestling skills, though her opponents were able to interrupt a combination with some double-teaming from the outside and gain control of the match. From that point on, Anderson & Snyder did what they do best, which is turn tag team wrestling into pure poetry. Their intrinsic understanding of each other combined with their experience as a unit was way too much for Torres to take, who found herself on the wrong side of town as her opponents cut her off and put her down in a textbook show of tag tactics. Fans were desperate for Perez to get the hot tag, but every time Torres gained some ground on one of her rivals, the other was there to shut her down. Her opening came when she countered a move into an attempted Venus Fly-Trap which, while not fully applied, was enough to scare Ava Anderson long enough for the tag to be made. Perez came rushing in and overtook Anderson just in time to dropkick Snyder off the apron, inches before the tag. The masked one’s charge and following series of high flying moves had fans behind her in hopes of a win, but when she attempted a top rope splash, a recovered Snyder grabbed her teammate’s legs from the outside and dragged her away just in time for Perez to crash and burn on the mat. With all competitors reeling by that point, Snyder tagged herself in and went to work on Perez, but there it was clear something was missing: the one-up from Ava Anderson. Snyder got a really close call, but Perez got a shoulder up just inches before the third mat slap. Frustrated, Snyder tagged her partner in and they attempted to pull off a double DDT from the second rope, but Torres rushed in and got herself at the base of a Tower of Doom situation, turning the move in her favor as Perez used the momentum to roll through and get a shocking pin over Ava Anderson! Winners: Perez & Torres 51 Garcia: They won! Pinky Perez and Marianna Torres will be challenging for the titles! What a lucha extravaganza a go go! Hesketh: They all went hard and left everything in the ring. Listen to these fans, they are applauding all four ladies for this amazing match! Garcia: How will the Furies respond to their new challengers? And what does this mean for the 3 time champions Anderson & Snyder? Hesketh: I bet our broadcast partner will tell you all about it, Alfonso. Garcia: I’m just glad he’s at ringside and not here having a meltdown next to me! Hesketh: This is Farrah Hesketh with Alfonso Garcia and on behalf of our furious partner, Boss Man Brayfield, thank you for joining us tonight, make sure to come back next month for QAW BattleBowl! 21. I can't stress this enough. Visuals will catch people's attention but good writing will keep them coming back. Make an effort on your presentation, even if it's only learning how to upload and post/link portraits, that'll help readers connect the names to faces. Try to use spoiler code (even if you had to quote the post of someone who did it so you can copy the code) or just big gaps in the text to make surprises pop out. Ask your fellow diary writers, many are happy to give you advice or share the code/template of their visuals. At the same time, don't set the bar too high or try to keep up with the best of them. Some people have more time than you do, or no kids, or studied computer science, or work as professional graphic designers, or have others helping them or or or... We don't all have the same background and resources. Remember that and don't let it take the wind out of your sails. Bottom line: Put some effort into the visual aspect but keep your expectations realistic.

  23. The four men were a peculiar sight, gathered as they were around the table of the taverna, Greece's average traditional style of restaurant. They were foreign, no doubt about that, but they hadn't ordered moussaka or any of the usual tourists trap dishes, nor had they gotten a salad to be split among them, as the locals would usually joke about travelling foreigners. No, despite their looks and origin, they had ordered a big platter of meat in the middle: steaks, chops, patties, chicken wings, a wild mix of animal protein surrounded by a hearty amount of fresh fried potatoes. They were all big, muscular men used to large servings and they had all spent enough time in the country to be acting like locals by now. "It is agreed then, we slash ticket prices after the next show" Nelson Frye wrapped up the previous conversation before taking a sip of his ice cold lager. Among the four of them who had chipped in the money to start a reboot of the old NGW as Ring of the Olympians, Nelson would usually preside over the meetings. It was a role he had the charisma and respect to play, which is why he'd also lead the wrestlers' court to sort out backstage issues and deal with minor transgressions. "Yeah we're not counting on gate income yet anyway, plus the economy's on the downswing and wrestling's not exactly topping the list of cool things to be into" Robert Howard agreed, his Louisiana accent somewhat heavier after more than a few cold ones. "Might as well lure in the fans and capitalize on it later. Same with broadcasting shows online, I think we'll all agree that can wait until we can set up the mail order side of merchandising." Everyone else mumbled something in agreement, between bites of meat and sips of beer. "There's something else me and Dov wanted to bring up though" Howard continued. Nelson raised an intrigued eyebrow in response. He might have spent most of his career teaming with or in some way aligned with the Louisiana Pitbull, but he was aware that off the stage, Robert and Vidmar were best buds. The big Russian looked around, caught by surprise in the center of attention while in the middle of his chewing process. Took a while to down that bite, adding some unnecessary dramatic tension to the moment. "We want to start a wrestling school again" he finally spoke up. "Me and Rob, training people so the company can have homegrown talent." Frye took a moment to entertain the thought. It didn't help that NGW's dojo used to be helmed by the Moscow Mauler, Marat Khoklov, the man in whose shadow Vidmar had spent most of his career. "I don't know boys, it's a pretty big investment. It'll take a while to pay off and the operating expenses could kill us till then" Frye argued, but Vidmar waved it away. "No no, very bare bones stuff. We've done our calculations, fifty thousand to set up and less than a thousand per month to operate." "Uhm, guys?" Petter Eriksson's voice cut through. The big man from Norway had been silent for the most part, consumed as he was by the screen on his phone. Which was unusual, because he was never a heavy social media used. "You might wanna check this out" he said, turning the screen for all to see.
