  1. Moving down from the established veterans makes this very interesting. Quite the midcard there, featuring some unexpected stars from other promotions (and big news for said promotions). Also, Chino gives me those Tarzan Goto vibes and Kaito Doan looks like a Japanese Jimmy P.
  2. Agreed, this Tobei looks a tad more realistic but also a bit too serene. Figured I'd share anyway, hoping these spur you on to continue, would be a huge shame for this diary to stop!
  3. Spring Rites Sunday, Week 1 March 2020 Athens, Southern Mediterranean, Europe Attendance: 67 Alberto Montero, Giovanni Bruno and Petrov Yakovlev open the show with a march to the ring, drawing perhaps the most passionate hail of boos in RotO to date. Yakovlev is serious and broody, letting it all bounce off of him, while Montero and Bruno seem to enjoy it as they soak in the crowd’s hatred. Bruno: Ah, yes, the jealousy of the mediocre people in the face of true star power. Comes with being a red carpet A-Lister like me. Now now, settle down and let the real men do the talking here. Montero: You ungrateful wimps, with your crispy snacks and 5kg one rep max deadlifts, you should be thanking us. That’s right, thanking us, for making sure you get your money’s worth in this ring. No one wants to see two old, washed up has beens in the main event. As a matter of fact, no one wants to see them at all. I know we here don’t. And we’re doing something about it. Enough is enough. Out with the old and in with the new! Bruno: We’ve made it our mission to put these veterans out of commission. We will no longer be overshadowed by the Vidmars and the Fryes and the Howards of this company. We are the New Breed and we’re taking over! 61 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Gypsy Rose vs Serena Ventura With two losses each in their two respective matches so far, Gypsy Rose and Serena Ventura entered this match hungry for the win and their first two points in the tournament. Between Rose’s fast, mobile style and Ventura’s energetic brawling, there was a lot of exciting back and forth in the match. The German’s plan seemed to be all about grounding her opponent with big strikes and the occasional hold, while the Wrestling Nomad stayed on the move and got the crowd going with her flashy aerial maneuvers. Neither seemed to enjoy a distinct advantage for long and that showed all the way to the finish, where Rose slingshot herself into the ring with a crossbody; Ventura got the timing right in blocking the move and catching her mid-air, but lacked the strength and footwork to make anything of it. As a result, Rose’s momentum carried her over and into a rolling pinfall predicament that won her the match. Winner: Gypsy Rose 23 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Aud Valkyrie vs Paula Edwards So far in the tournament, Paula Edwards proved herself to be an unstoppable force and if anyone could stop her, veteran Aud Valkyrie seemed to be the top candidate. The Norwegian seemed to pace herself and used hit-and-run tactics in hopes of exhausting her larger opponent, but nothing seemed to really get under the skin of her massive American opponent. It only took a few minutes for Valkyrie to slow down and lower her hands a bit, her 39 years of age catching up with her conditioning, before Edwards saw her chance and made a move. It was all Edwards from there and the big brawler from Colorado made short work of another opponent before hitting the Powerbomb Pin for another two points in the race. Winner: Paula Edwards 38 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Cassie O’Peter vs Florida Simard Dublin’s hot rookie “Classy” Cassie O’Peter has certainly proven herself to be a dark horse in the tournament, with big wins over Aud Valkyrie and Machiko Matsuda so far. NGW dojo graduate Florida Simard was her scheduled opponent and the Frenchwoman seemed poised to stop O’Peter’s winning streak and continue her own. To the trained eye, it was obvious that the more experienced Simard was leading the match, while also taking it upon herself to keep fans engaged with spectacular moves and interaction. O’Peter did her best to ground the opposition and work on Simard’s legs in hopes of taking away her mobility, but it was luck, not tactics that won the day for her when she managed to catch the overconfident, laid back Simard from a schoolboy cradle out of nowhere. Winner: Cassie O’Peter 33 Backstage footage is shown on the screen above the wrestlers’ entrance. Nelson Frye and Robert Howard are having a discussion with Dovydas Vidmar. Frye: Listen to me! You heard them, they’re out for us all! They attacked us all last time! We have to stick together! Vidmar: This isn’t your League of Heroes and I will no longer be ordered around! Vidmar takes a swig of vodka Frye: It’s not about orders, damn it! It’s about survival! The three of us are scheduled to fight them tonight! With that, Vidmar spits out the rest of his vodka in shock and the feed cuts off. 54 Cesar Sionis vs Tomohiko Yamagata Yamagata started the match hot, keeping up the momentum coming off his tag victory over the Fashionistas. His speed gave him the edge over the larger and much older Sionis, who could only withstand his opponent’s opening salvo of moves. Once that was over though, Yamagata took it easier in order not to burn up all his fuel too fast. It did provide an opportunity to showcase how he can also strike and grapple on top of flying, but once up close and personal with Sionis, the Greek Punisher quickly turned things around with a decapitating lariat! Now firmly in control, the hard hitting Sionis was able to use all the tricks he’s mastered while working in Australia’s deathmatch-heavy DIW and really brought the punishment on his younger opponent. Audience was split between supporting the (sort of) local hero and cheering for Yamagata to make a comeback, which the wrestlers played up by doing a bunch of hope spots with Yamagata fighting back and Sionis shutting him down before the NGW dojo graduate was able to get some offense rolling and hit a desperate Suicide Splash to score the pin. Winner: Tomohiko Yamagata 38 Petter Eriksson comes out of the curtain but doesn’t enter the ring. Neither does his music play. Instead, he remains at the wrestlers’ entrance with a microphone in hand and speaks his mind. Eriksson: So, some young tough kid wants to make a name at my expense? Well step right up! I have defeated that punk Yakovlev, I pinned your hero returned from abroad Cesar Sionis and I can certainly teach a lesson to some youngster who thinks he’s all powerful just because he looks mean in a mohawk! In an instant, a man wearing a black mask comes running out of the entrance and whacks Eriksson from behind with a steel chair! Much smaller than Thorsten Sigurdsson though, who could this mystery attacker be? 48 The New Breed (Montero, Bruno & Yakovlev) vs Dovydas Vidmar, Nelson Frye & Robert Howard As intense a confrontation as any RotO main event yet, this one kicked off with Giovanni Bruno’s comedy spots of uncomfortably close-up grappling (and grinding, if need be) against Vidmar. As a result, tension was lifted so it could be built back up and a furious Vidmar began raining down the clubbing blows on the cowardly Lounge Lizard, who was all too happy to retreat and tag Yakovlev in. Again, having Vidmar against the man who attacked him two weeks ago sent him into an offensive frenzy, picking up the pace of the brawl until Howard tagged himself in. He and Vidmar seemed to argue about it for a moment, whether the RotO Champion could still go or if he needed a break, which created an opening for Yakovlev to shove them into each other and sandwich Howard between his teammate and the ringpost. Now firmly in control, Yakovlev focused his offense on Howard before tagging in Montero to continue breaking down the Louisiana Pitbull. Using 3 on 1 tactics, the New Breed beat down Howard on their corner but then Montero got a little overconfident and whipped him to the ropes, only for Howard to bounce back with a huge shoulder tackle that left them both lying on the mat. Struggling to make it to their respective corners, Montero and Howard tagged in Bruno and Frye at the same time, leading to a crescendo of action, only for Eriksson’s mysterious attacker to once again make an appearance and swing his chair at Vidmar, Howard and eventually Frye, ending the match on a disqualification only to then pull off his hood and reveal himself as… Winners: Dovydas Vidmar, Nelson Frye & Robert Howard 58 Show Rating: 56

  5. Death's Head vs. Dolphin Master The setup is all Death's Head, but I'm gonna take the not-obvious pick here and predict EMLL's Aquaman pulls off a last minute dodge to send Death's Head charging through some table on a corner Anarchist vs. La Bestia Morada Shenanigans! DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma DeCipher gets booed. Fantasma is talented and comes with a built-in storyline against the Dark Universe El Toro De Oro Jr vs. Goblin Prince Building up the new stable Guerrero Muerto vs. Snake King Muerto wins, then Snakey probably gets to recruiting El Serpiente and all the other reptile themed luchadores to lead himself a stable Captain Lucha vs. Demon King I can see Demon King winning without a title switch, or Captain Lucha getting a DQ win after the Sins invade, so I'm calling it a draw: chaos ensues and the match is thrown
  6. If you sit down and think about it, Koichi's move is so innovative and meta. WE2020 is already anti-establishment so toning it down allows Tatsu to be that hardcore purist antihero!

  8. That was a good show, top to bottom, and a solid main event, even if we all knew Frederique was going to lose.
  9. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO A GSW DIARY! Oh well, guess that leaves the field open for me to give it a go then...
  10. Been wishing so hard for this since you broke the idea on the New Save Suggestions thread and now it's finally happening!
  11. Somehow missed the point where the rules for this were finalized. Didn't manage to complete the challenge in '16 as I fell in love with my original promotion and it turned into a Local-to-Global challenge, but will give it another go now.

However, it just so happens that Ms. Quinzel and Ms. Svelte already had a match for 5SSW in Japan several hours ago and there’s no way they could have caught a flight to New Mexico in time to wrestle their scheduled match here tonight. Even if they somehow made it across the globe in time, they’d be beat up and jet lagged and that’s not what three time champions deserve to wrestle! Both competitors’ lack of experience showed and it didn’t help that Black Diamond probably caved under the stress of making her professional debut, but the match did a decent job of showcasing both rookies and Pador scored the win when she forced her opponent to tap out to the Crossface. After the match, Little Miss Perfect applauded mockingly, then folded her chair and returned to the locker room, shaking her head in disappointment and laughing, apparently not seeing what all the fuss surrounding Pador is about.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Modesty Pador</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">19</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> I can see potential in both those ladies, they can only get better with time.</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> The only potential I saw in that match was sitting at ringside and holding the QAW Shockwave title, Garcia!</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> The champion might want to keep an eye out on our next match, because either participant might be challenging her for that title belt soon.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="e0nGRne.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/e0nGRne.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l2udbFh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l2udbFh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>“California” Coco Malloy vs Darkness Cat</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Much like the three way match Malloy and Cat had with Izzy Quick two months ago, this was a high flying spectacle of impressive moves and big flips. Cat had the experience edge and confidence of having won that match, but Malloy had a point to prove after losing that and getting knocked out of the tag team tournament, so she fought with a passion and intensity unusual for her laid back character. This did catch Darkness Cat by surprise and it made for some exciting spots right out of the gate, but the masked luchadora was able to get her game together in time and turn things around to eventually hit her Black Cat Moonsault and win yet again.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Darkness Cat</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">34</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8yGo9pooCJ0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/8yGo9pooCJ0"</a> frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> <img alt="MGUCuAL.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MGUCuAL.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="vnmCiIp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vnmCiIp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Moments after the match is over, the signature sound of Raquel Alvarado’s music hits the speakers and “100% Rudo” comes out with a mic and Millie the Minx by her side.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Alvarado:</strong> Congratulations on your victory, seniorita… I have been watching your progress and I am here to offer you the chance to be part of something greater than yourself.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Millie:</strong> We are putting together a team of the most talented, the most charismatic and the most beautiful women on this roster.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Alvarado:</strong> Chosen of course by the woman who tops that list: me</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Millie:</strong> Think about it, chica!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">33</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Could it be? It was a welcome change of pace though, with all four ladies shaking hands in a show of respect before the match and setting the brakes on fire as they fought the match to prove which is the better team. With plenty of big moves, a fast pace full of athleticism and a very competitive style, this match felt like something straight out of a joshi promotion, only with more lucha libre and held in the States.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="X7aUwGm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/X7aUwGm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NuLYzbD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NuLYzbD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> With the match being that exciting (to the point where it turned out to be match of the night) it only got Toni Parissi and Becca Barton a ton of heel heat when they made an appearance to try and interfere in the action. Fortunately, Teresa Perez saw them coming and slingshot herself off the ropes for a spectacular over the top plancha that took out both members of Payback Inc. before they could physically interfere. However, the damage had been done and once T-Pez climbed back up to the ring, Torres was in position to grab her arm and pull her back inside, right into the Venus Fly-Trap. Meanwhile, Pinky Perez had ascended the turnbuckle and blocked Handley, who was rushing in to break up the hold, with a huge crossbody off the top. Caught in the middle of the ring with no escape and no help from her teammate, Perez was forced to tap out and the CILL representatives won the match for a spot at the tournament finals.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Perez & Torres</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">50</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> We have a winner! What a match that was and what a spectacular finish to the entire tournament will the next one be!</p><p> <strong>Brayfield:</strong> This is exactly how I wanted this to go. Now these ladies will have a chance to put their money where their mouth is and stop calling themselves the best team in QAW while Anderson & Snyder are around!</p><p> <strong>Hesketh:</strong> I can’t wait for that match!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="8gDIWvl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8gDIWvl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <img alt="Dot0cid.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Dot0cid.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Cy1Fa5L.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Cy1Fa5L.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Alexis Lee Littlefeather vs Hellcat Hernandez</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Although it seemed like a last minute filler match, this was anything but that, not only because both women are talented and popular wrestlers who can work an exciting match but also because of the existing heat between their groups. Back in January at QAW Starshow, Hernandez and Felicia Luck beat Juana Hurricane and Sonnaz Shah, so now she had a chance to get her hands on the third member of Storm Front. Meanwhile, ALF was coming off a missed title opportunity against Little Miss Perfect for the QAW Shockwave belt, so she was itching for a big win that would get her back on track and with Hernandez having a bad night that made her sloppy in the ring, it felt like Littlefeather had a chance. The two ladies played up the storytelling aspect of their contest and Littlefeather had a fair share of hope spots but round the 15 minute mark, she got hit a series of kicks to the head: first a roundhouse, then a superkick and next a mafia kick that knocked her down. Referee Erin Lawrence jumped in to break up the action and after checking on Littlefeather’s condition for a bit, decided she was unable to continue.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Hellcat Hernandez</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#F4A460;">39</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Alexis is out! Instead of faction versus faction action though, this featured six women of different allegiances but with plenty of heat between them already. Alina America, who some have criticised as being “overprotected” and not “a fighting champion” wrestled her first match in 2020, looking to prove naysayers wrong but also to protect herself from potential title contenders in case she was pinned. Danielle Sweetheart, who tried to get a faction going last month, was facing Rojo who’d shot down her plan, her long time rival Foxxy LaRue and her latest nemesis, Emma May. Likewise, Ashley Grover had her chance to prove she belongs with QAW’s main stars and meet once again with the leader of Ronin 3 in LaRue.</p><p> </p><p> The match began at an unusually slow pace, allowing fans to wrap their minds around it all and announcers to break down everything going on between the six competitors. Grover started the match for her team, testing her Texas tough against the stiff strikes of Emma May at first and the sheer power of Rojo later. LaRue was all too happy to jump in and pick apart the pieces, though her presence seemed to light a fire under Grover who got a second wind for the hot tag to Danielle Sweetheart. The Queen of Hearts had an axe to grind against both LaRue and May, leading to some exciting back and forth exchanges before her opponents were able to isolate and wear her down. Fans cheered for Sweetheart to escape as hard as they cheered for Alina America to get the hot tag and after several failed attempts, Sweetheart finally made the tag to bring the QAW American champion into the match. America cleaned house and led to collective rejoicing, but her dominance of the ring meant that LaRue and May left their spots at the corner to lock horns with Grover and Sweetheart respectively outside the ring. This momentary lack of focus was all Rojo needed to charge in and take her down for some ground and pound, before she deadlifted her up in a freakish show of strength in order to deliver her Running Powerslam finisher and score the pin!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Pamela Rojo</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="color:#2E8B57;">49</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Garcia:</strong> Rojo pinned the champ! 14. Titan Struggle Saturday, Week 3 February 2020 Athens, Southern Mediterranean, Europe Attendance: 65 Tomohiko Yamagata & Wes Stryker vs The Fashionistas This time the show went straight to the action as Yamagata and Stryker were up in action against the veteran team of Italians Giancarlo Morelli and Roberto Milano. The two cocky athletes have had plenty of time to hone their skills as well as their characters and after a good start from hotshot rookie Wes Stryker, they worked together to distract him and gain control of the match while firing up the crowd who responded in boos. Stryker sold all the moves and even used his chain wrestling skills for the occasional counter and hope spot, only to be shut down by his opponents. This dominance couldn’t be converted into a pinfall however, especially since the Fashionistas opted for cocky pins that didn’t throw their full weight on Stryker, who kept kicking out of covers. On one such occasion, he seemed to get an adrenaline surge that had him fighting back long enough to make the hot tag to Yamagata, who hit the ring flying with a huge springboard crossbody on Morelli. After that point it was all Yamagata, as the NGW dojo graduate dropkicked Milano off the apron and hit a sequence of moves on Morelli, before putting him in a Figure Four Leglock that had him tapping the mat like a madman. Winners: Tomohiko Yamagata & Wes Stryker 39 A pre-recorded message from the RotO champion, Dovydas Vidmar, is shown on the screen above the ring entrance. Vidmar: Finally… tonight I get my hands on Robert Howard, one on one. No more aspiring challengers jumping in between us, no other competitors in the ring, just me and him. You call yourself the Louisiana Pitbull, huh? Sounds about right to me, with Nelson Frye yanking your chain. You’re nothing but his lapdog. Tonight, I’ll show you who’s the alpha dog in this yard. 52 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 2 match Machiko Matsuda vs MAYA An intense, personal match, this one featured two women who used to team as The Kanto Express during their European excursion and fans were excited to see them butt heads as part of the tournament. Another openly contested battle, this one saw a lot of counters, reversals and dodging, as if to emphasize how well each competitor knows the other’s style and tactics. It was so right down the middle actually, the match reached its time limit without a clear winner and the two gave each other a nod of respect after the bell, splitting the points between them as they headed back to the locker room. Result: Draw 43 Backstage, Robert Howard is busy doing some last stretches and a bit of shadowboxing as he’s getting ready for his big main event title match. Nelson Frye is observing nearby and turns to face the camera, apparently another pre-recorded message that airs for the fans in attendance. Frye: I said I was going to be on Robert’s corner to prevent any shenanigans and I did just that. I said he’d win that match to compete for the RotO Championship and he did just that. We’re both men of our word. Men of honor. Something Dovydas Vidmar isn’t. I respect his skill. His power. Don’t have to like him to give him that. But I do not respect his tactics. His vodka spitting and bottle smashing. None of that tonight. I’ll be there to personally make sure of that. May the best man win! 46 Cesar Sionis vs Petter Eriksson Anyone who expected flips or a technical masterclass here, probably hasn’t been paying attention to Sionis and Eriksson. This was a classic fistfight, stiff and hard hitting, between two men out to prove who’s the toughest. No one ever left their feet for a move, although Sionis did make sure they left the ring so he could tap into his hardcore experience in DIW down under. However Eriksson is no stranger to such situations and he was able to instantly turn things around when he raised his huge boot to block an incoming chair shot by kicking the chair straight into the face of Sionis. Rolling his groggy opponent back into the ring, Eriksson avoided the countout and a weapons-heavy brawl, which allowed him to get some more moves in and hit the Northern Lights Bomb for the pin. Winner: Petter Eriksson 32 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ojykx7jJv9E" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The battering sound of Thorsten Sigurdsson’s theme blasts as the Blood Axe makes his entrance. Petter Eriksson observes cautiously as the mohawked youngster gets in the ring and in his face for an intense staredown, made even more intense by the fact that the song keeps playing throughout the entire segment, until Eriksson backs away with a “not today” expression. 40 RotO Championship match with “The Bratva Bruiser” Dovydas Vidmar © vs “The Louisiana Pitbull” Robert Howard (with Nelson Frye) Several shows in the making and based on a rivalry that’s been ongoing for many more years, the main event did not disappoint. Unlike the usual format thus far, this wasn’t your typical slow burner main event though. Instead, Vidmar and Howard threw themselves at each other from the opening bell, not quite in a wild frantic brawl but certainly hitting hard and giving no quarter. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Alberto Montero and Giovanni Bruno did make an appearance after the first five minutes of the match, though true to his word, Nelson Frye got in their face and prevented them from interfering. Things did eventually come to blows outside the ring just as inside it, with the double brawl really firing up the fans anew. Despite being outnumbered, Frye held his ground and forced the two men to a retreat. Meanwhile, the action at rinside did seem to draw Howard’s attention more than it should and Vidmar was able to gain the upper hand, forcing Howard to claw his way back into the match just as Frye was fighting another uphill battle 2 on 1. With the challenger building up more and more steam, Vidmar reached for the vodka bottle he brings to the ring but, whether intentionally or not, Frye had knocked it off the apron during the brawl and nothing was there! Just as it seemed that Vidmar’s trick (or lack thereof) was Howard’s big chance, Petrov Yakovlev appeared through the crowd and jumped the guardrail, taking advantage of Frye being busy fending off Montero and Bruno on the other side of the ring! Yakovlev slid into the ring just as Howard was about to make the cover and with tension rising, so did Vidmar slowly… WHAT? HE HIT VIDMAR! HOWARD TOO! Fans nearly lost it as Yakovlev took out both competitors and the referee was forced to call for the bell. Result: Double DQ 59 Absolute chaos ensued as the match ended and Yakovlev rushed out to attack Nelson Frye, making it a 3 on 1 situation. Numbers finally caught up to Frye and he was brought down, only for Robert Howard to stumble his way towards the fray after a hard fought match. Not that he was able to do much against Montero, Bruno and Yakovlev, who made short work of him and then hit the ring for a beatdown on Vidmar as well! 50 Show Rating: 56
  15. Not a fan of anime and completely lost you with the weeabo stuff and terminology, but I do appreciate the indy joshi scene (one of my last TEW16 diaries was as WINNOW so many names ring a bell) and this seems like an interesting concept. I generally avoid diaries that lack images and portraits, but this is concise and easy to read, plus the sleaze reminds me of Bigelow_Cartwheel's Oddworld diary. Keep it up!

  18. <p>Can't we just agree that since wrestling doesn't have weigh-ins, all the weight-related words are basically meaningless? Traditionally, a promotion's top title would be labelled a "Heavyweight" title simply because it sounds more impressive than "Lightweight" or "Middleweight" (also because it would be held by the bigger, more muscular and visually impressive workers). Likewise, any wrestling promotion featuring a "Lightweight", "Middleweight" or "Junior Heavyweight" title, basically calls it such to identify it as 'not the big main title' and not because there are any weight restrictions. Japan's full of juniors eventually becoming heavyweights (Kenny Omega and Will Ospereay come to mind) and that's usually more about breaking into the main event scene and using a less aerial style than putting on weight. Rey Misterio was the WWE World Heavyweight champion, for crying out loud <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Edit: D-Lyrium basically made the point I was trying to say</p>

  20. QAW San Antonio Invasion 2020 Date: Fri W3 Feb 2020 Location: San Antonio, TX Attendance: 458, Viewers: 11.063 Garcia: Hello everyone and thank you for joining us, thanks to the fans in attendance and everyone around the world watching via the Women’s Wrestling Network, tonight the Queens of American Wrestling invade San Antonio for a night of wrestling action-a-go-go! Brayfield: There’s only one invasion happening tonight and that’s Ava Anderson and Lilly Snyder storming this tournament to reclaim their spot at the queens of tag team wrestling! Hesketh: Tag team wrestling has always been held high in this company and tonight is no different. I know we have some exciting matchups and hot new teams booked, but let’s hear it straight from the woman who came up with the whole concept, our very own Commissioner Bomb! <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/opHXmx3hB-k" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Commissioner Bomb makes her entrance, looking unusually happy. Some fans even shout “Cherry Bomb!” along to her music, until eventually it dies down so she can talk. Commissioner Bomb: Last month I dropped the bomb when I announced that Queens of American Wrestling would be hosting a tag team tournament, with the winners earning a shot at the QAW Tag Team titles. Tonight we light up the fuse with the first round of matches and I’m here to tell you all about it in person. First off, hot new rookies from the hot West Coast, Coco Malloy and Izzy Quick, the San Diego Girls will go head to head with three time QAW Tag Team champions Ava Anderson and Lilly Snyder! After that, a match I’m personally very excited about, all the way from Seattle, Washington, the AAA legends Good Lookin’ Bunny in a match against the team representing Japan’s legendary 5SSW, Talia Quinzel, Selina Svelte, the Uprising! But that is not all, because we also have our CILL representatives, Marianna Torres and Pinky Perez, who will be wrestling none other than Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose! And last but not least, tonight’s main event, the hottest rivalry in this entire promotion, representing the Line, Tex-Mex against Ronin 3’s Payback Inc! 58 Garcia: What a lineup! What a tournament! What a night of action-a-go-go! Brayfield: What a shame for these girls from San Diego, hold my headset Garcia, I’m off to take care of business! Hesketh: As if the deck wasn’t already stacked in Anderson & Snyder’s favor, now I see the leader of the Clenched Fist chose to accompany them to ringside as well! with The San Diego Girls vs Anderson & Snyder (with Boss Man Brayfield & Hellcat Hernandez) Well aware of the situation going into this match, the team from San Diego played to their strengths as they stayed on the move, using their speed and high energy to get some offense rolling. Combined with plenty of quick tags to always keep the fresh girl in, this led to a quick match full of impressive aerial lucha moves from both sides, as Anderson and Snyder are way too familiar with wrestling against such a style and kept up with the youngsters. After a fast start though, Izzy Quick crashed and burned when she hit a sloppy springboard move, the turning point of the match. That was all the veterans needed to gain control of the match, cutting the ring in half to double team their opponent with grinding tactics. True to her name, Quick made a quick escape for the hot tag, but Anderson & Snyder were on a roll and had no problem keeping their momentum against Coco Malloy, who they ended up taking out with a Rock and Roll to finish the match. Winners: Anderson & Snyder 32 Backstage, the Furies are training at the venue’s gym facilities. Marie Punnen is sharpening her kicks against a sandbag, each hit rattling the chain it hangs from. Honey Badger is wrapping up a set of heavy deadlifts, before she drops the bar with a loud bang to to move on to the squat rack and load that bar with more plates for her next set. Emma May is watching the scene with crossed arms, then turns to face someone who remains off camera. May: Listen, I don’t care what Commissioner Bomb thinks! If she can set up a tournament and put my girls’ Tag Team titles on the line, it’s only fair she puts the American title up for grabs as well! I want my shot and I promise you, not only will I take the title, I’ll take Alina’s livelihood too when I leave her in that ring with a broken arm! 46 Garcia: Uh oh, looks like this tournament’s already had some unforeseen side effects! Brayfield: You don’t have to like Emma May to respect her point. We saw the Shockwave title defended, we’ll see the Tag Team titles defended against the winners of this tournament, the American title must be on the line as well, and soon! Hesketh: All in good time, dear colleagues. Alina has no shortage of challengers, we saw that last month when Foxxy LaRue claimed her stake, but right now we have a tournament to carry out and up next, two amazing teams in action as Good Lookin’ Bunny reunite for a match against the no-nonesense pairing of Talia Quinzel and Selina Svelte, the Uprising! Good Lookin’ Bunny vs The Uprising Natural babyfaces and multi-time AAA Tag Team champions Good Lookin’ Bunny have been working the independent scene as solo acts since that promotion’s closure, so seeing them as a team again made for a feel good moment as fans welcomed them back. The Uprising were pretty much the opposite, a rough and tumble young team on the rise who were more than eager to defeat GLB and add a considerable feather to their cap. This made for a pretty dramatic matchup and indeed everyone focused on the storytelling aspect of this match, complete with Good Lookin’ Bunny playing up their age and ring rust, although given Serena Star’s painful-to-watch performance, that may have been more real than it should. Working the lucha QAW style did no favours to either team, with Good Lookin’ Bunny struggling to not come across as a sad relic of their past selves while the tenacious mat grappler Svelte lacked the flashy aerial moves QAW fans expected and “The Mistress of the Backbreaker” Talia Quinzel severely limited in her moveset due to lucha libre’s ban on martinettes (spinal impact moves). On the bright side though, both teams have a lot of experience as units and the Uprising especially looked way more coherent than their time together would suggest, leading to Quinzel scoring the pin on Serena Star right after the 15 minute mark with a Rising Tide. Winners: The Uprising 37 Garcia: If you’re going to bring in some outsider teams, might as well get the best ones available. That was all star power-a-go-go! Brayfield: Y’all gotta ask yourselves though, what if one of those teams ends up winning the Tag Titles? Will they just run away with the belts? A rhetorical question, of course, because Anderson & Snyder are here to save the day and keep the gold with the company, around their waists. Hesketh: Pinky Perez and Marianna Torres would think otherwise, they’ve had a long rivalry with your girls over who’s the best tag team in QAW and I’m itching to see them up in action next against one of the finest female tag teams in this business, Kate Lilly and Debbie Rose! Lilly & Rose vs Perez & Torres Arguably the hottest free agent women's tag team, Lilly & Rose have been sure-fire signings for the tournament, with many fans predicting their appearance as well as hoping for a dream match against Anderson & Snyder. Perez & Torres were looking to spoil that though, the Mexican team having a hot rivalry already with the 3 time QAW Tag Team champions. This heat had both sides hellbent for victory already from the opening bell and they went all out for a crazy bout that really stole the show. Lilly and Rose also did some great work in getting heat from the crowd as they acted like divas too good for this show, taking every opportunity to taunt their Mexican opponents and the local San Antonio crowd. It was this arrogance that cost them the match in the end, as Torres got an opening to tag in Perez, who rushed in to knock Debbie Rose off the apron and unleash a series of moves on Kate Lilly before delivering her Pink Butterfly Powerbomb for the finish. Winners: Perez & Torres 50 Alina America is wrapping up a photo shooting backstage when Danielle Sweetheart walks up to her with a glass of cold water. America takes it with a nod of thanks and drinks up to cool herself from the heat of the lights as Sweetheart speaks. Sweetheart: Listen, I’ve been thinking. You’re the champion, which comes with a huge target on your back. I’ve been there, I know what it’s like. So I’ve been thinking, how about we join forces? You need someone to watch your back and God knows I’m waging a war on my own against the Furies… Pamela Rojo walks into the scene, munching on an apple as red as her hair, which she probably grabbed from the photo shoot snack buffet nearby. Sweetheart: Hey Pamela, I was just telling Alina here about teaming up, you interested? Rojo raises an eyebrow at the suggestion, her munching of the apple providing a dramatic (and somewhat silly) pause. Rojo: Nah, I’ve had my share of backstabs recently. Besides, no one’s really your friend when you’re carrying that. Rojo taps on the QAW American title around Alina America’s waist, then walks away to the bewilderment of the other two women. 49 Garcia: What a missed opportunity there, imagine if those three women would actually join forces! Brayfield: No one wants to waste their time carrying Rojo on their back, just ask Hellcat Hernandez! She finally had enough and set out to achieve her destiny, which sooner or later will involve her being the QAW American champion! Hesketh: It’s the top title in this company, of course it’s a highly sought after prize and so is winning this tournament for a chance to win the Tag Team titles. I could think of no better main event for this first round than this heated rivalry between the Line and Ronin 3, let’s do this! with with Tex-Mex (with Ashley Grover) vs Payback Inc. (with Vinny Cruz and Foxxy LaRue) There was more than the tournament at stake in the main event and having such heavy ringside presence only served to remind viewers that this was but another chapter in the ongoing war between Ronin 3 and the Line. Tex-Mex started in control of the match thanks to their superior teamwork and experience together, since Parissi is more used to teaming with the -long gone- Jillian Jarvis than Becca Barton. However, with Cruz and LaRue at ringside, the Line girls had their attention spread all over the place and it didn’t take long before Payback Inc. used that to turn the tide of the match and ground the opposition. Using classic tactics to isolate a single wrestler on their corner, Barton and Parissi got to work on beating down Houston Handley, who sold every hit for sympathy from the fans while Vinny Cruz took every chance he had to get in Handley’s face to talk trash and LaRue only fanned the flames of the audience’s hatred by antagonizing fans in the front row. For a moment, it was all Ronin 3 dominating the match, until Handley got a second wind out of nowhere and generated enough space for the hot tag to Perez. Rushing in with her wide arsenal of flying, spinning and rolling moves, Perez fought tooth and claw to get her side back in the contest but it all came to a dramatic halt when she dropkicked Parissi onto referee Erin Lawrence. With the ref momentarily stunned, Barton snuck in to poke the eyes of Perez before tagging herself in (appropriately loud, for the ref to hear) and hitting the Ronin Revenger, the group’s dreaded tag team finisher. Parissi dragged the ref next to the cover, but Erin Lawrence refused to make the count and called for the bell instead in a moment that had fans in an uproar of shock and excitement before it was announced that Tex-Mex were actually the winners via DQ: apparently the referee had seen Barton’s eye poke and disqualified her for that! Winners: Tex-Mex 45 Furious from the referee’s call and arguing the match outcome, Ronin 3 stormed the ring to get in her face. This only brought Ashley Grover and Houston Handley in too, ultimately ending in blows, save for the cowardly Vinny Cruz who immediately fled the ring. With numbers on their side and Perez still reeling from the Revenger, it didn’t take long for Foxxy LaRue’s group to get the better of their opponents and the show ended with them standing tall, but still out of the Tag Title race! 37 Show Rating 48
