  1. So I'm doing a multiplayer diary alongside Historian where I'm playing as QAW. Before my first show, I did a little "what's changed since 2016" sort of post (link) trying to make sense of the timeline and how everything went down. Figured I'd share here as well.
  2. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="The Lloyd" data-cite="The Lloyd" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47530" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So Chip wants to carve his own path, and not just be known as Johnny Martin's son, yet he calls himself 'NextGen' and the tag team is 'Hardcore Inheritance'? This guy's a HEEEELLLLL!!</div></blockquote><p> Hadn't really thought of it that way, but that's such an amazing way to gain heel heat from smarky fans! Now all we need is Original Sinner to cut "anti-wrestling" promos about how he should have been an NFL superstar but settled for milking wrestling fans of their easy money instead. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  3. I've spammed those in '16 as GSW. Taking verbal jabs at the opposition during shows seemed to work best, better than handing out signs anyway. Mocking them on my website was a 50-50 success, while sponsor sniping almost always failed, which really shouldn't given Brother Grimm's huge media pull.
  4. <p>Most of the ones I had in mind have already been brought up, so here's 3 I'm pretty sure haven't been mentioned yet:</p><p> - "Be my Valentine": A retrospective on the rise and politics of Peter Valentine</p><p> - "Chompin' at the Redwood": A candid look on the backstage moves of Giant Redwood</p><p> - "West Coast Wars": The birth of IPW, Brother Grimm's defection and the subsequent GSW-IPW war</p>
  5. Phil Vibert: So the big news today obviously is the formation of the Women's Wrestling Council, brought to life by none other than Jennifer Cornell! Most wrestling fans only know her as Tommy Cornell's wife and she's probably the last person bearing that last name that anyone would expect to see pull off such a move. TCW veteran Tommy Cornell's moved back home to 21CW with his cousin Eddie, while Jennifer was basically out of the business and having much success as a writer. Now she's setup up a global broadcasting network, dojos and promotions around the world, including her very own one named Golden Goddesses of the Ring. Now there's a lot to break down in this whole venture so I won't go there, but I must say it's interesting to see it happen. Women's wrestling has been in a weird spot since the collapse of AAA, women's wrestling has always been a big deal in Japan but 5SSW took a huge hit in the wake of the whole tsunami situation, so there's a real gap in the market for all-female promotions. That's a smart move by Ms. Cornell. Farrah Hesketh's "Queens of American Wrestling" will be the U.S. representative of the group and it finds itself in the spotlight once again, though I'll say it's probably the first time this doesn't have anything to do with AAA. I'm saying this because Farrah herself was a star in AAA throughout the nineties and up to her retirement in 2002 following a knee injury. She set up shop with her own promotion in Houston, Texas in 2010 and a lot of the talk back then was how she was wise to avoid conflict with Seattle-based AAA. Even after AAA held its last show in the summer of 2017, the talk about QAW was what'll happen now that they're the only all-female wrestling company in the States. This time it's Farrah's group holding the fort and representing the States on pretty much a global stage. This is huge and of course, it's drawn a lot of new eyeballs to the promotion so I think it's time to re-introduce QAW to a wider audience. Listeners of this podcast probably don't need me to hold their hand and explain everything from scratch, plus there's a few fan-made videos online for anyone just getting into the product, but I figure it's worth doing a quick recap of what's happened with the company since the last time they had the spotlight on them with the closure of AAA in mid-2017. Off to the big leagues The two faces you might notice are missing are Jillian Jarvis and Charity Sweet. Jarvis, known as "the Iron Lady" thanks to both her hard hitting style and no-nonsense heel character, is a five time champion so you can basically say she's done it all before moving on to join USPW. The signing of Charity Sweet by that very same promotion came as more of a surprise, considering she hasn't held any titles in her six years with QAW. If you told me she'd get signed by a major promotion, I'd probably go with SWF considering her stunning looks and charisma, but here we are with both ladies in USPW's Women's Division. There's a Storm brewin' For QAW fans, Jillian Jarvis was also one more very important thing: the founder and leader of Ronin 3, the only group in the company and a vicious heel trio under the management of JJ's real life boyfriend, Vinny Cruz. The group ran amok since its formation in mid-2013 but it's main antagonist has been QAW's big time babyface "the Queen of Hearts" Danielle Sweetheart. Jarvis' subordinates were Juana Huracan and Toni Parissi, a decorated team also known as Crackdown and it all came together in a big storyline that involved a face turn and title switch. Essentially, Huracan started having second thoughts regarding the group's vicious tactics and it all boiled down to a big moment where she was ordered to break Sweetheart's leg following an unsuccessful challenge for Jarvis' title. Huracan refused and the group turned on her, leading to her babyface, sorry, tecnico turn and a subsequent feud that saw the formation of Storm Front, her alliance with Alexis Lee Littlefeather and newcomer Sonnaz Shah, meant to rival Ronin 3, culminating in a "loser leaves QAW" match for the American title; Huracan, now Americanized to "Hurricane" had her big moment, gaining her first ever QAW American title victory and redemption by driving Jarvis out of the company, thus writing her off and taking the belt off her so she could join USPW. Can't keep a bad woman down With Hurricane's victory and Jarvis driven out, it finally looked like Ronin 3 were disbanded. Alas, this was not the case and in a shocking rudo turn, former fan favorite Foxxy LaRue took control of the group she'd been feuding against for years just months after Jarvis was gone. The group quickly returned to full strength with the addition of Becca Barton, formerly known as Emma Bitch north of the border, and proved they were anything but done by helping LaRue defeat Hurricane for the QAW American title in April of 2019, less than a year after Hurricane had won it off Jarvis. All out faction warfare The next turning point in the company's storytelling came in late 2019, when they pulled the trigger on what's considered their latest innovation after the intentional blurring of lines between tecnicos and rudos, the prominent use of stables in a way that's been traditionally associated with companies in Japan. The story leading up to the big match was that Emma May, who'd been running a -pun intended- MMA gimmick of intentionally injuring opponents after her matches, had sidelined Danielle Sweetheart with one. Apparently she escaped Juana Hurricane only for Emma to slap on the kimura and give her a kayfabe injury, but I digress. So with Sweetheart out, the path was clear for Alina America to be the big babyface that would feud with Foxxy LaRue for the American title. These two had their long-awaited match in Thanksgiving Thunder and, as expected, Ronin 3 were there to interfere. In a shocking and emotional moment however, Farrah Hesketh's very own protégé Ashley Grover made her return, assisted by fellow Texas cowgirl Houston Handley and Teresa Perez, the group that would become known as The Line, as in "first line of defense". Grover and Co. took care of Ronin 3, sparking a new feud, but that wasn't the end of it. Emma May had apparently formed her own group "The Furies" with Tag Team champions Marie Punnen and Honey Badger and they too were out to make a statement. Once more, Alina America was fighting an uphill battle before she was saved by the triumphant return of Danielle Sweetheart who got her revenge on Emma May and held the Furies at bay to create an opening for America to hit the Southern Lights Bomb and score the pin to become champion. Tag Team Trouble Meanwhile, in QAW's tag division, the driving feud was between Ronin 3's Crackdown and the tecnico team of Pamela Rojo and Hellcat Hernandez, known as The Anti-Establishment. I'd argue Hernandez was a pioneer as a morally ambiguous "tweener" character, thing is they rolled with it and turned her rudo when she attacked Rojo after one loss too many. This coincided with the rise of the tremendous Anderson & Snyder pairing, so Hernandez got a new lease in life while the Anti-Establishment was disbanded to allow Anderson & Snyder to shine. And shine they did, with 3 tag title runs to date. Their dominance has only been seriously challenged after the arrival of CILL's Mariana Torres and Pinky Perez, pushing them to join forces with Hernandez as The Clenched Fist. A shockwave of perfection After their breakup, Rojo and Hernandez feuded over the QAW Shockwave title throughout 2018 and 2019, before an out-of-nowhere win by current champion Sarah Taylor changed the scenery. Taylor, who had been getting nowhere, was repackaged as... what I'd best describe as "an obnoxious Millennial" type of character by the name of Little Miss Perfect and the gimmick caught on like a wildfire, leading her to her first taste of championship gold. Now with a title to back up her bragging, LMP can only get more annoying and fans have already noted the clash of characters (and blatant opposition in names) between her and Modesty Pador, who is believed to be the one chosen to feud with her over the Shockwave title.
  6. That'll come in time, I hope we do a good job of presenting the wrestlers and warming you up to them. For QAW especially, I'm planning of writing an update before the first show, let people know about what's changed since 2016, from Jillian Jarvis and Charity Sweet departing for USPW to the face/heel turns, title changes, storylines and formation/purpose of stables.

  8. Company: Queens of American Wrestling Company Description: The Queens of American Wrestling organisation was formed in 2010 by the former AAA star Farrah Hesketh. Based out of Houston, Texas, her idea was to combine the traditional American style of women's wrestling with that of the luchadoras of Mexico to create an exciting hybrid. QAW was an instant success and has quickly developed a good fan base in several cities in the state. Known for being willing to take chances (such as the intentional blurring of the traditional tecnico and rudo lines or their heavy use of stables) and promote fresh new talent, QAW are playing a big part in the evolution and continued rise of women's wrestling in North America. 9. Holy Hardcore Havoc, Batman! That praise out of the blue caught me by surprise. Thank you very much and I fully intend to do a 2020 GSW diary eventually, but I'd be lying if I didn't give props to Voeltzwagon for inspiring me to try GSW in the first place. If the hype diary is to be trusted, he's got one coming up so look out for it. I know I will, satiating my GSW hunger until I pull yhe trigger on my own. Lots of new talent I'm loving and losing match aims must make this a whole new experience. Also cutting T&A from the product means you don't have to go on a hot chick hiring spree and have them feature prominently in every show. You probably should, but you won't be penalised for not doing it. I get the deathmatch penalties though. The way I see it, the GSW product is a gangsta spin on attitude era WWF: brawling, weapons, blood, sex, run ins, surprises, chaos, edgy realistic characters but nowhere near the "landmine exploding razorwire piranha tank" of an FMW-style, true garbage deathmatch promotion.

  11. Ascend to the Skies Date: Sunday, Week 1 January 2020 Location: Athens, Southern Mediterranean, Europe Attendance: 44 Belcher: Hello everyone! Tonight, professional wrestling returns to Greece as we Ascend to the Skies! Big matches all around, a four corners match to determine the first ever RotO champion and the kick-off to the Women’s championship round robin tournament! Bescott: So much to sink our teeth into, it’s the return of several familiar faces and the start of what could be greatness for others. Who will climb up to the mountain of the gods and who will sink forever to the underworld? <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/sfR_HWMzgyc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The show opens with the brooding riff of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” as Nelson Frye makes his entrance, clad in an outfit that wouldn’t be out of place in a period drama movie shooting. There may only be 44 fans in attendance, but considering the premium ticket price and the lack of any track record for RotO yet, they are as hardcore as they come and willing to pay that extra NGW nostalgia coin. Frye: “It’s such a privilege to be back in Athens in front of you all again! You all know I’m wrestling in tonight's big main event match, but before that, I wanted to come out here and get something off my chest. See, ever since that match was announced, nay, ever since I joined Ring of the Olympians, there have been questions amidst the overall excitement. Isn’t he past his prime? Hasn’t it been six years since he last wrestled? Does he still have it? Well let me tell you right here, I became NGW Heavyweight champion three times and NGW Tag Team champion two more for a reason. I won and held those titles, just like I was trusted with the mask of Captain Hero, for a reason. And I am every bit as driven now as I was driven then. To win a title once again. To prove the naysayers wrong. To ascend once more to the top of the mount…” <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/NT714sj011w?start=65" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The music of “The Bratva Bruiser” Dovydas Vidmar interrupts Frye and the big Russian comes out in a slick suit, clearly here to talk, not fight. Vidmar: “I’ve spent way too many years of my career listening to you talk and talk. I’ve had enough…” Fans start chanting “Moscow Mauler” as Vidmar is talking, the nickname Marat Khoklov had while employed by NGW and leading the Czars, a group that Vidmar was a member of. Vidmar: “You won’t be seeing him here, so might as well shut up! Best you can do is put his name in your mouth, well I’ve been his right hand man. I had his back every time he fought for that Heavyweight title. I was a loyal soldier. So loyal, I always put him first and never wrestled for that title myself. It was always Marat first. Well he’s no longer around, so I can finally put myself first. If there’s one man who needs to win the RotO Championship tonight, that man is me!” <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/LTDWAMUcNDc?start=65" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The sounds of NOLA’s supergroup DOWN announces the arrival of “The Louisiana Pitbull” Robert Howard, who comes out and joins the other two men inside the ring. Howard: “You see, Vidmar, that’s the difference between us. I too was a member of a group, The League of Heroes, you might have heard of them? I also had a successful career but never won the big singles title. I had Nelson’s back here and shared the tag team titles with him, twice. But I never felt bitter, or overlooked, or left out. I need that title just as bad as you do. But more than that, I live for the fight. May the biggest, baddest wrestler win!” <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/gGBpOZpmq1U?start=65" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> As if on cue, “Hammer of the North” signals the arrival of the last title contender, Petter Eriksson. He may be the oldest of the four, but he’s also the tallest, biggest and every bit as ripped as Robert Howard. The announcing duo comments on all those, as well as his two NGW Tag Team title reigns, while the security staff hits the ring to prevent things from getting physical. Eriksson simply glares at his three opponents and the tension eventually boils over as security convinces everyone to return backstage and save it for the match later tonight. 55 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 1 match Florida Simard vs Serena Ventura Serena Ventura made her entrance first, the young rookie from Germany not really getting a response from the audience at this point. Frenchwoman Florida Simard fared slightly better as hardcore fans reacted to the only woman on the roster to have been trained in the NGW dojo. Almost even in size and skill, the two competitors were however very different in terms of character. Ventura immediately showcased that textbook babyface inner fire that finally endeared her to the audience as she got to work on the laid-back and slightly overconfident Simard as soon as the match began. Once the opening salvo was over, Simard wasn’t shy about pulling her opponent’s hair to halt her momentum, gaining control of the match but losing the support of any fans still rooting for her by that point. Making the best of her longer experience, Simard kept applying the pressure on her opponent but at times seemed to lack a certain sense of urgency. That and Ventura’s passion allowed the German to take the heat and even create a couple of hopeful comeback moments, but eventually she was suckered in by Simard’s unorthodox pacing and sudden outbursts of big moves, with the French wrestler getting the pin shortly before the ten minute mark to score her first two points in the tournament. Winner: Florida Simard 36 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 1 match Aud Valkyrie vs MAYA A veteran of over two decades and the most experienced member of the division, Aud Valkyrie entered this match as the heavy favorite. The hard hitting Norwegian has been hailed as a “best kept secret” by some and “a wasted opportunity” by others, since she was never able to work in Japan where her style would have been a perfect fit. MAYA was in no mood to simply lay on her back though and the charismatic Japanese showed why she held the EWA Women’s title during her excursion in Europe as well as currently being one third of the Triangle champions in Japan’s 5SSW. Valkyrie started hot with a series of stiff shots and quick takedowns, but failing to get a quick pin or submission, her style quickly became predictable and a little repetitive. MAYA made the best of that situation to take the fight to where she’s most comfortable, trading holds back and forth as she riled the fans up to cheer for her. Valkyrie hadn’t said her final word however and despite getting badly outperformed, she was able to sneak in a sharp knee while MAYA was working the crowd to take the wind out of her lungs and hold her down just long enough for the three count. Winner: Aud Valkyrie 39 Women’s championship Round Robin tournament Round 1 match Gypsy Rose vs Paula Edwards Who’d have thought a gypsy character in 2020 would not only avoid being called gimmicky and offensive, it would actually be a huge hit with the fans too! It helps that the woman behind the character chose a more free-spirited, hippy-like approach instead of playing to all the stereotypes and that connection with the crowd also helped the match have that extra oomph, since Edwards basically steamrolled past her opponent, barely allowing her to land a single offensive move. Fans were unusually sympathetic to the babyface in peril being destroyed and Edwards wrapped up the first part of the show with a dominant victory. Winner: Paula Edwards 41 INTERMISSION http://49.media.tumblr.com/f253011c31ab6ba74be2c05e2fbc0128/tumblr_o3jqbxBRnY1uctr63o1_500.gif Alberto Montero & Giovanni Bruno vs Ryushi Ryusaki & Tomohiko Yamagata Part 2 of the show kicked off with a “what could have been” tag team match, featuring four homegrown NGW prospects who never had the time to make it big before that promotion closed. Montero’s hispanic machismo naturally complemented the sleazy lounge lizard character of Italy’s Giovanni Bruno as the two of them took every shortcut they could in order to stay on top of their opponents, with the match basically telling the story of that team being on the same page against the odd pairing of Ryusaki and Yamagata, a violent unpredictable striker and beloved super junior respectively. Despite clearly being the more talented team, the two Japanese wrestlers just couldn’t get it together and Yamagata walked into the “slower, but more powerful punch” that is Bruno’s comedy finisher for the pin. Winners: Alberto Montero & Giovanni Bruno 38 RotO Championship title Four Corners match Dovydas Vidmar vs Nelson Frye vs Petter Eriksson vs Robert Howard At long last, it was time for the main event of the evening. Arguably the promotion’s top four male stars (some would also call them “nostalgia acts”) squared off in a free-for-all to determine the first ever RotO champion. Petter Eriksson came out first, the biggest of four setting the tone for the big fight ahead. Dovydas Vidmar followed, this time in his ring gear and carrying his trademark bottle of vodka, from which he took one final sip after completing his entrance routine. Robert Howard joined them next inside the ring, glaring at his opponents and clearly in the mood for a fight. Last out was Nelson Frye, beloved babyface, multi time champion and probably the favorite to win the match. Once the bell rang, Frye shook hands with a reluctant but professional Eriksson, his friend and longtime teammate Howard, but got a headbutt to the face from Vidmar, essentially starting the match. Howard and Frye instinctively teamed up to throw Vidmar out the ring, then turned on the big man Eriksson for the same. Once it was down to the two of them, they paused, shook hands once more and started to circle the ring for what promised to be a sportsmanlike contest. This of course was soon denied by a recovered Vidmar, who pulled Frye’s leg to take him out of the ring and replace him for a hot-tipped exchange of blows with Howard. Eriksson soon joined them and as they all traded strikes back and forth, they painted a picture of what fans could expect from this match: big tough men throwing big blows at each other, simple and visceral as that. No complicated technical wrestling, no flashy aerial maneuvers, just an old school brawl with a pace and style that wouldn’t be out of place in Japan and fan’s of the classic “King’s Road” presentation. Even after Frye got back into the ring, he only did a simple -but impressive- belly to back suplex on Vidmar to create some space and throw in a few strikes of his own. Things picked up as two time tag team champions Frye and Howard worked together to bring the big Norwegian down, only for Eriksson to rebound out of the blue with a decapitating double lariat! With Howard still reeling, Eriksson went for the pin on the fallen Frye but before he could make the cover, Vidmar spit vodka in his face to blind him and steal the pin for himself! Winner AND NEW RotO Champion: Dovydas Vidmar 56 Show rating: 55
  12. Get those cards as soon as I upgrade my Merchandise! Thanks, that save is close to my heart, plus I'm trying to focus on a single diary and up the quality, as opposed to running several ones at the same time like I did with TEW16. It ain't no G1 Climax, but it'll give me a ton of matches to work with for the first bunch of shows!
  13. They're an interesting case, that's for sure. I expect them to make it big and I'm curious how their heavy use of social media will play into it all. Well, like I said at the end of the first post, a lot of the wrestlers here are regens and game-generated workers from my old CTE16/CVerse97 game. It's a mix of that and canon workers, kinda like an alternate timeline. Thank you! Think RotO emphasizes the promotion's home location plus it comes with two title belts, courtesy of southside_hitmen. As for the women's roster, it only made sense. I enjoy women's wrestling and NGW always had some great female competitors like Fusae Etsuko, Joanne Rodriguez and Geena the Warrior Princess. Hell, it even managed to make a Hall of Famer out of Viv "The Violence" Jacobs!
  14. Nope, had the same issue upon reading. It's the image files that are to blame, they get darker as you move to their lower part and F range grades are already pretty dark to begin with. Unless that's intentional, in a "this was a crappy match, please move along" kind of way Nice show, can't believe I was glad to see Bullet Bob in a match!
  15. I understand being gutted about the default state of the world, but I'll disagree with your Europe example since with the new "Talk to Worker" feature you should be able to convince workers, especially unemployed ones, to make themselves available for employment in a new region.
  16. Thanks for putting everything in one thread. EMLL went through a big change and this is saving everyone from scouting bios and storylines all over. It's been my favourite Mexican promotion and making it all out Lucha Underground only makes it better. The "alternate universes" thing feels very Avengers like and really helps those not into lucha libre's intricacies buy the wacky characters and storytelling.
  17. Took me ages to stop stressing over penalties in TEW16. Disabling the dirt sheet helped ease myself into it, wish I'd seen another post like this one back in the day.
  18. Would make for a great scumbag promoter story though. Especially if there's a mechanic for the worker to later sue for wrongful termination.
  19. Four Corners title match to headline RotO's debut show! Ring of the Olympians released a statement regarding its first ever show, which is now known to be titled "Ascent into Olympus". According to that statement, the night's marquee match will be a Fatal Four Way contest between four of NGW's biggest former stars on the current roster: Dovydas Vidmar, Nelson Frye, Petter Eriksson and Robert Howard. There's more than bragging rights on the line though, as the winner of the match will also become the inaugural RotO champion! Women in the front Ring of the Olympians also made an announcement via social media, this one regarding its Women's Division and a Round Robin tournament to crown its first champion. This means that every competitor will be facing off in a singles match against every other woman in the division, with 2 points scored for a victory, 1 each for a time limit draw and no points for a loss. This playoff-style setup will give RotO's women plenty of time and matches to showcase their skills as well as legitimacy to the entire division, a fitting choice in the company's pursuit to establish themselves as NGW's successors since it was NGW that established Women's Wrestling in Europe and gave it a serious, sport-like presentation. For your ease of tracking, we have created a scoring table for the tournament already.

  21. Ring of the Olympians Ring of the Olympians is a company based in Greece, if the name wasn't enough of an indication already. It was started by a bunch of veterans and rookies who used to work for NGW but haven't managed to secure a deal with another "name" promotion since NGW closed its gates in 2014. Mixing familiar faces and nostalgia with some promising rookies for the future, it presents a similar "anything goes" product like it's major predecessors in the region (EWCW, UCR, NGW) hoping to repeat their success and avoid their failures. Product: Classic Balanced. In essence, the perfect midpoint of all products, this places in-ring match quality as having equal importance with the entertainment aspect of playing to the crowd. 22. <p><em>“My friend, I think you’ve had one cocktail too many. NGW is dead and buried, it’s been what, over six years now!”</em></p><p> </p><p> Nelson dismissed my idea with a wave of his hand and took another sip of his own cocktail. We may have had quite a few of those, true, but they felt absolutely necessary as our bodies were getting their tan on under the relentless Greek summer sun just a few months before we both turned 40. He was still a large man, no doubt, but rocking the dad bod, and he was flabby during the end of his NGW run to begin with. Still, he had 3 runs with the top NGW title to show for it, plus two tag title runs with me by his side. He had left England to join the promotion during his rookie year and helped put it on the map. He had been in the ring with a young Tommy Cornell and his cousin Eddie, with Marat Khoklov, some of the biggest names in the business. Me, I’d left the States to train in Japan, then moved to Europe for a career mostly spent playing his sidekick. I didn’t have the greatest of legacies to look back upon, but thinking about his and where he was at now gave me the big comeback line.</p><p> </p><p> <em>“And what has either of us done in these six years since?”</em></p><p> </p><p> Nelson put his cocktail down and lowered his sunglasses to look at me eye to eye. I knew I had his attention now. We’d been friends in what felt like forever. He knew I wasn’t bitter or jealous. This was coming from a good place.</p><p> </p><p> <em>“Tommy and Eddie, they moved on, had good runs with larger promotions. Adam (Matravers) too. Joey (Beauchamp). “Captain Hero” Stig Svensson. Hell, Marat (Khoklov) broke the damn game! Champagne Lover’s making movies in Hollywood! And look at where we are. What we’ve done.”</em></p><p> </p><p> Nelson sat up on his recliner, hastily rearranging his beach towel. Sitting made his gut pop out even worse than before, a painful exclamation point to my words. He didn’t say anything for a while, but I knew he was thinking, hard. I’ll admit I threw Stig on purpose in that mix; he was the only man Nelson ever played second fiddle to, when we were all under his leadership in the League of Heroes. Hopefully that would make him a little more empathetic, emotionally at least.</p><p> </p><p> <em>“So what do you suggest?”</em> he finally spoke up. I knew he’d heard me the first time, so this was him asking for specifics. He’d taken the bait.</p><p> </p><p> I savoured every second of my dramatic pause as I put my sunglasses back on</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center"><p><em>“We’re putting the band back together”</em></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="24zUUot.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/24zUUot.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"><img alt="LXsj0bJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LXsj0bJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48474" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Concept:</strong> Few years ago, I started a Road to Glory save using DerekB’s exceptional CVerse97 mod. I turned it into a save on some other forums, grew attached to my starting promotion and ended up booking it for 16 in-game years. This was summarized (and slightly expanded) <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=543156" rel="external nofollow">here</a>. That save basically evolved into an alternate CVerse timeline but can’t be converted to the new game, so instead I manually “imported” all the non-canon characters in the editor, aged their skills appropriately and decided to start a new promotion in the canon 2020 CVerse, sort of like an alternate timeline.</div></blockquote>

Just learning the new game and not burning up creative ideas or diary fuel. For now it'll only be one save/diary. Got a couple of posts in the hype thread, should be putting up the diary post in the weekend or early next week.</p>
