  1. Indeed. Though I still want to believe it was intentional

  3. Or he could always hire someone else to play that character and use the portrait for the diary. Hiring Ajax/Criatura directly doesn't really sounds like Silas' style
  4. As long as there's a failsafe for one company bogging the game down for everyone else, I think a single thread could work. Still, might be better to fill in all the spots first and then worry about such issues.

This was also a good chance for young lions Tsujimura and Okubo to show what they can do next to the veterans and they did not disappoint, although the finish saw Chikanatsu stake her claim for a shot at Yamato’s Rising Champion title as she pulled the Blue Crab Surprise out of nowhere for a shocking submission.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Rei Chikanatsu, Rika Tsujimura and Yu Hashimoto</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Blue Crab Surprise [single Leg Boston Crab, applied after a backward roll to take down the opponent]</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="kecxQgj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kecxQgj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YZVLLiv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YZVLLiv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="T0rEREo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/T0rEREo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="NoBX4AM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NoBX4AM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DbpgfdK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DbpgfdK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ZgHlMpJ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZgHlMpJ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Faith McGee, Ariel Breaks and Queen Amazon vs Ochiyo Iijima, Nami Genda and Akuro Shionoya</strong></p><p> What the prior match lacked was some exciting high flying and that’s what the last of the undercard matches brought, although Queen Amazon and Iijima still brought the heavy hitting moves to the mix. The GDR standout had an impressive performance, both mauling her young lion opponents and trading big blows with Iijima, but it was Faith McGee who had the last laugh when she held Iijima down with a Flying Cross Body to earn herself a shot at the Pure Heart title.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Faith McGee, Ariel Breaks and Queen Amazon</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Flying Cross Body</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="Kt2aza1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Kt2aza1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Kt2aza1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Kt2aza1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Duet titles match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="eVnzbeS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eVnzbeS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8B2D2n5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8B2D2n5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QAaEoST.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QAaEoST.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="DpTyyCL.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/DpTyyCL.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> BATTLE BEASTS vs Team Endorphine</strong></p><p> With Maki Yoshifumi sidelined for over a year after Houston Handley broke her neck, it was finally time to vacate the titles and hold a match to crown the new tag team champions. With teams like the Missouri Bruisers and Hunter-Killers no longer around, it boiled down to the experienced pairing of BATTLE BEASTS versus the natural understanding between Jaguar Endo and Emiko Miyoshi. The veteran Endo began the match trading blows with BATTLE Takenouchi, but once BEAST Kaori got the tag, Endo found herself cut off from her corner and repeatedly beaten. Able to gather her wits against the passionate young lions, Endo created and opening for herself and tagged in the energetic, high flying Miyoshi. The hot tag got a good fan reaction, as did Miyoshi’s offensive outburst, but it didn’t take long before Kaori used her freakish power to hit the brakes and drive her opponent to the mat, with Takenouchi taking over for the finish and a double team Sit-Out Powerbomb that led to the pin while Kaori blocked Endo from breaking up the cover.</p><p> <strong>Winners AND NEW WINNOW Duet champions: Battle Beasts</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Double Team Sit-Out Powerbomb</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="w7nP9VI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/w7nP9VI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Grand Champion title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8sEkkAa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8sEkkAa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Joanne Rodriguez © vs Eri Sato</strong></p><p> Those unfamiliar with the “junior” style often mistake it for a high flying spotfest, much like lucha libre, due to the competitors’ size but it’s so much more than that and this match was a classic example, a textbook showcase of the athleticism, physicality and fast pace involved. Sato’s wide array of stiff, scything kicks opened the match with a sense of urgency, as she tried to take away the champion’s mobility as well as her high flying offense. Rodriguez was forced to use a more cerebral approach to fight back, a wonderful mix of technical wrestling, mat grappling and slick transitions that still was delivered at a breakneck pace. Sato also had to adapt and responded with some spectacular suplexes to prove she’s no slouch either when it comes to the technical aspect in the ring, including a big spot where she tossed J-Ro to the corner, only for Rodriguez to block it by landing on the middle rope and bouncing back for a senton. This was the turning point that saw Rodriguez start going for bigger moves in an attempt to finish the match, all the while dodging Sato’s Buzzsaw Kick attempts. Eventually, the pace took a toll on both competitors once the match went past the 15th minute and as soon as things showed a hint of slowing down, Rodriguez went straight to the J-Rocker to end it and retain.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Joanne Rodriguez [Defenses:2]</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock Face Crusher]</strong></p><p> <img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p> <img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></p></div><p></p><p></p>

  10. Glorious. Truly glorious. Up to par with everything we've come to expect from this craptastic promotion.

  12. SCCW Presents: The Last Rebels Episode Number Five Taped on Wed W1 Feb 2016 at The GBG Studios in Nashville, Tennessee in front of 647 people Ratings: 0.01 (13.210 viewers) Michaels: “Hello and welcome to another exciting and action packed episode of The Last Rebels. We are fresh off the heels of the Tennessee Tussle -- and what a show that was. If you weren’t in The Sweat Box in Atlanta, Georgia or with us on SCCW.com, you’ve got to order the DVD. Sure, we can tell you the results but nothing beats seeing the action for yourself.” Sneer: “They better buy the damn DVD and next time you all better be in the building or on SCCW.com. You missed matches with major implications. The Maryland Alliance are no more -- Buck Graham was pinned by Whisky Jack and thus the sixteen year journey of the Maryland Alliance has come to a conclusion and the Tennessee Outlaws are still standing.” Michaels: “They are, and that isn’t the only big news coming out of Tennessee Tussle.” Sneer: “No it’s not, Peter. We have a Southern Heavyweight Champion! “Southern Justice” Jack Griffith has once again climbed to the top of the mountain here. For the third time, he is Southern Heavyweight Champion and he’s the first champion of this new era.” Michaels: “It was a historic and an emotional moment, no doubt. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the new SCCW Southern Heavyweight Champion, “Southern Justice” Jack Griffith! Michaels: “There you go folks, Southern Heavyweight Champion Jack Griffith! He’s a man of passion, a man who wears his heart on his sleeve and tonight was no exception” Sneer: “He speaks from the heart and shoots from the hip, Peter, our champion has seen it all, he’s done it all and really risen from his ashes, much like this promotion he’s now the face of.” Michaels: “Griffith has a long history but so does this next competitor, the embodiment of old school, Rick Sanders. He is set to wrestle tonight’s opening match against the promising rookie from Minnesota, Seth Whitehead!” Opening Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit “Old School” Rick Sanders versus “The Man With No Nickname” Seth Whitehead Once more, Sanders played the part of the veteran out to prove he still has some bullets in his gun before he’ll ride off into the sunset, this time against the young grappler Seth Whitehead. This was another slow, methodical match with plenty of back and forth grappling that showcased both Whitehead’s amateur background and Sanders as the ring general that he is. Never really doing anything that Sanders hadn’t seen and couldn’t answer, Whitehead put on a decent performance but quickly found himself trapped in and tapping out to the Figure Four Leglock. In a poor match, Rick Sanders defeated Seth Whitehead in 6:08 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock. Michaels: “Another victory for the veteran Sanders and a good performance from Seth Whitehead in that match” Sneer: “Sanders was knocked out of that tournament by Justice Jolson, but he’s been schooling rookies left right and center since!” Michaels: “He’s gotten wins, but lost big matches like that tournament one you mentioned, Shane, or the tag match at Tennessee Tussle.” Sneer: “Just like the Hacksaw from Cobb County, Georgia. I’m being told he has some comments to make in response to his latest title match and Jack Griffith’s words earlier tonight.” Michaels: “Sounds like the Hacksaw wants another chance to dance with the Southern Heavyweight champion!” Sneer: “And it sounds like he has a good reason to want it, I know the jet lag would kill me if I had to call a show after a flight like that, let alone wrestle major matches back to back!” Michaels: “We’ll keep you posted on whether those two will meet again for the title, right now we have to get to the ring for our next match, the return of Mad Dog Mortimer against Riley McManus!” Sneer: “We haven’t seen Mortimer since our first episode when he lost to Roger Monteiro. McManus hasn’t been much luckier, he got knocked out of the tournament and lost to Rick Sanders, but he got a measure of revenge against the veteran when he beat him and Masked Mauler at Tennessee Tussle. Can he keep that momentum going against the Mad Dog?” Singles Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit Mad Dog Mortimer versus Riley McManus Seeing Mad Dog Mortimer in the ring immediately reminded everyone why he hasn’t been featured since the first episode of Last Rebels. McManus did his best to lead the match despite being the younger wrestler and probably the most entertaining moment in it came when Mortimer tried to steal the flag his opponent carries to the ring. That got a loud, albeit mixed reaction and also created the opening McManus needed to hit the veteran with the Slingshot Suplex for the pin. In a poor match, Riley McManus defeated Mad Dog Mortimer in 6:25 by pinfall with a Slingshot Suplex. Michaels: “A big win for Riley McManus coming off he and Regular Joe’s successful win at Tennessee Tussle.” Sneer: “Every win matters and Mad Dog is an experienced veteran. A win over him proves that Riley is as tough as people think he is. Back to back wins is good momentum. Riley’s partner, Regular Joe is in action after this.” Michaels: “Wait a minute. It looks like we are being joined by Ernie Turner and the Tennessee Outlaws.” Singles Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit Regular Joe versus Sgt. Bubba Lee West Bubba Lee West and Regular Joe had a solid contest between two hard working, talented men. West got great heat throughout the match as the crazy drill sergeant. West had great control over the crowd and everything he did really registered with the audience. Joe is continuing to get comfortable with his first regular work since FCW and it was a good contest that helped make Joe look like the underdog babyface that he’s trying to get established. He sold the Recon Wrench wonderfully and Bubba West got a great win. In a decent match, Sgt. Bubba Lee West defeated Regular Joe in 9:54 by pinfall with a Recon Wrench. Michaels: “Sgt. Bubba Lee West is victorious in a great contest. Both he and Regular Joe are going places here in SCCW, I can tell.” Sneer: “West is tougher than a two dollar steak and he showed that tonight against a very capable Regular Joe. Jack Griffith might want to keep tabs on the Sergeant, he could be a future challenger for the Southern Heavyweight Championship.” Michaels: “He very well could be...and what the hell is this? What is going on?” Michaels: “I can’t believe it. Stan Manna is here in SCCW! This is a major acquisition for SCCW.” Sneer: “He’s a hell of a hand and he’s got that Rock star energy. And he’s here? And he’s in our main event against Brady Prince? This is going to be better than the beauty contest at the county fair.” Main Event Singles Match TV Time Remaining “The Hunter” Brady Prince versus Stan “The Man” Manna The main event for the evening was Stan Manna getting his first action in SCCW. The Canadian definitely had the Rock Star air about him. Brady Prince, now solely a singles wrestler, in his first match since the loss of his partner at Tennessee Tussle. This was a solid main event contest that clearly had a goal of making both men look good but establishing Manna as a new player in SCCW. Prince hit several big moves to get near falls and Manna managed to “accidentally” poke Alvin Lavin in the eye. While Lavin recovered, Manna hit Brady Prince with a pair of brass knuckles he retrieved from his jacket on the apron and got the pinfall victory when Lavin was able to count. In a decent match, Stan Manna defeated Brady Prince in 11:26 by pinfall after using a foreign object. Sneer: “And that’s what it is all about! Stan Manna got the job done by any means necessary. That’s my kind of guy, Peter.” Michaels: “He blatantly cheated!” Sneer: “It's only cheating if you get caught. He took advantage of the situation. That’s called being a smart professional and now he’s got a ‘W’ in the win column already.” Michaels: “Oh hell Shane! Unfortunately, we are all out of time. For Shane Sneer and SCCW, I’m Peter Michaels saying see you next week right here on The Last Rebels!” Show Rating:

WINNOW Full Force 2017 <div style="padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #DAA520; max-width:80%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"> WINNOW Full Force 2017 Week 2, May 2017 Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan] In Attendance: 300 (sold out) Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui Hiranuma Makoto: We are coming to you tonight at full speed, full steam ahead, Hiranuma Makoto here alongside Yuko Okui and this is WINNOW Full Force! Yuko Okui: There's no other place I'd rather be right now and what a show we have tonight! Hiranuma Makoto: That's right, it's the WINNOW Pure Heart champion Ochiyo Iijima defending her title against the brand new holder of the Campeónato del Mexico GDR, Mystery Pink, in the main event! We also have an extremely personal match between one half of the WWA World Tag Team champions and one half of the WINNOW Duet champions as Yu Hashimoto takes on Houston Handley with an eye on revenge! Yuko Okui: Handley broke the neck of Hashimoto's partner, Maki Yoshifumi and tonight, Hashimoto is out for Handley's blood! Speaking of which, every other tag team in WINNOW are positioning themselves for the inevitable vacation of the Duet titles. Hiranuma Makoto: We still have to hear an official ruling on the fate of the champions, but with Yoshifumi out for more than a year, chances are Torment & Sorrow will be forced to vacate the titles so both BATTLE BEASTS and Team Endorphine are looking to claim them. They're in action tonight in a 3 vs 3 match but before that, we're about to start of our show with three spectacular high flyers from Mexico, courtesy of WINNOW's partnership with Guerreras Del Ring! Estrella Blanca, Queen Amazon and Velvet Suarez vs Akuro Shionoya, Asami Okubo and Hoshiko Tagawa A decent match to kick off the show, this one saw three GDR luchadoras face three of WINNOW's young lions in a showcase match. Estrella Blanca made her return to Japan putting her GDR title feud with the powerhouse Queen Amazon aside for this one. Suarez seemed a step behind from her teammates, but that might be attributed to debut nerves in a new promotion and despite that, she was off on the right foot when she also got the win for her team by pinning Shionoya. Winners: Estrella Blanca, Queen Amazon and Velvet Suarez Finish: Moonsault Romi Yamato and BATTLE BEASTS vs Rika Tsujimura and Team Endorphine With Hunter-Killers gone from WINNOW and Maki Yoshifumi seriously injured, BATTLE BEASTS and Team Endorphine were the only two regular tag teams left to eventually carry the Duet titles, so this match was held to set up and hype their inevitable clash. Jaguar Endo gave her team the experience advantage and the tall Tsujimura did a decent job of matching the freakish power of BEAST Kaori, but the addition of Rising Champion Romi Yamato was what tipped the scales in favor of that trio, leading to a spectacular Yamatotal on Tsujimura for the finish. Winners: Romi Yamato and BATTLE BEASTS Finish: Yamatotal [Cross-arm Bridging German Suplex] Joanne Rodriguez, Faith McGee, Thea Davis, Claire Winters and Laura Flame vs Chitose Ariwara, Ginko Kuroda, Eri Sato, Rei Chikanatsu and Nami Genda Now this was an odd setup. This was without a doubt a crowded undercard match, but featured most of WINNOW's top talent and not much story to be progressed or things to be set up, except maybe a match for the Grand Champion title, should someone manage to pin Joanne Rodriguez. Still, the five gaijin put on a great match against the five joshi fighters, good enough for the action to outshine any booking shortcomings and Winters got the fall over Genda to wrap it up. Winners: Joanne Rodriguez, Faith McGee, Thea Davis, Claire Winters and Laura Flame Finish: Flying Knee Strike Yu Hashimoto vs Houston Handley Not so much a grudge match but certainly an intense, personal contest in the semi main event after Houston Handley broke the neck of Hashimoto's tag team partner, Maki Yoshifumi. Hashimoto certainly looked more intense than usual and her strikes felt a tad stiffer, but that might have been partly due to Handley selling them like she was being murdered. Indeed, this played out more like a straightforward competitive match and not a punitive burial of Handley and fans ate it up, whether because WINNOW didn't slip into sports entertainment territory or because they legitimately hated seeing Handley fight back and control the match. This led to several teases of Handley winning, whether by hitting her Houston's Problem finisher (which Hashimoto barely kicked out of) or a spot where she went for another Texan Destroyer that Hashimoto was able to escape in the nick of time. By the time the End Game connected to drop Handley to the mat, fans erupted in cheers and counted along, a triumphant finish to Hashimoto's quest for vengeance. Winner: Yu Hashimoto Finish: The End Game [spinning Back Fist] WINNOW Pure Heart Champion title match Ochiyo Iijima © vs Mystery Pink Pink and Iikima had one hell of a task trying to out-do their peers that preceded them, so they pulled out all the stops and went for a fast paced, spectacular match in the main event. Iijima attempted to eliminate her challenger through a combination of kicks to Pink's legs and grappling that forced the Mexican luchadora to the mat, but the elusive Pink made the best of her speed and agility to stay mobile and keep the champion guessing. Iijima even busted out some high flying moves from back in her "Space Age" days for a near fall but in the end it was a smoothly executed Knock Out Kick that won her the match as it caught a flying Pink square in the jaw. Winner: Ochiyo Iijima [Defenses:2] Finish: Knock Out Kick After the match was over, Iijima was handed the title and microphone, praising Mystery Pink for her talent and resilience before wrapping up the show to send the fans home happy. 14. Christmas is early! It's like you knew we were planning to introduce a midcard title...
  15. Right on time, willr0ck. Already using that logo and banner in our joint diary with the Historian, now we got new belts to use too. Appreciate it. Edit: I just saw you also posted them in that diary thread. Still thank you though.
  16. That is an interesting question. Let's see... Blue Phantom & El Mitico Jr: Two spectacular workers I almost always pick up when playing as a lucha libre promotin. On one hand, I'm hoping they hit the bigtime in SOTBPW, on the other, I want to see them do something different than just sign up with the local behemoth. Funakoshi, Bunrakuken Torii, Blast Ikoma & Yoshinaka Taku: I love BCG and these four have been my go-to guys. Funakoshi is the better worker in a perf>pop company but seems to lack the figurehead qualities, Torii is probably the most balanced guy but always seems to have terrible chemistry with all the top guys in my saves, Ikoma likewise always seems to cave under pressure and Taku is the next big thing I'm hoping to see rise up the ranks. 2020 BCG should be very, very interesting. Motoyuki Miyake, Gidayu Katou & Eikichi Itou: On a similar note, these are three of the finest young lion free agents and I'm wondering where they'll end up in 2020. Hitomaro Suzuki & Morimasa Kato: My two favourite free agents in Japan and two men blackballed for their MMA-esque past. Busta Capp, Cali Slick & Fro Sure: GSW and Voeltzwagon's GSW diaries made me pull the trigger and grab TEW, if that's an indication of how much I love the GSW gimmick. Fro always seems to move onto CZCW or greater, Slick is another star in the making but I'm most curious about Bust Capp. He seems to have hit a glass ceiling due to age and skill, so at best I can see him being either GSW's face/gatekeeper after Fro and/or Slick are gone, or jumping ship to IPW. Byron & Jeff Nova: Ring of Fire was the first promotion I was able to book to a profit in TEW05, so catching up with CVerse canon I was gutted to find out about Nova's 21CW takeover. Also, I'm interested to see how 21CW fares on an International level or whether their monopoly on the UK scene will end. Byron is just Byron, I hate him with the burning passion of a supernova. Claire Winters, Laura Flame & Eri Sato: Three young and highly promising ladies. Interested to see where they end up. Mutant: I always seem to pick this guy up in my saves, no matter how different the save itself is in terms of company product or location. Jester & Magwitch: My favourite psycho clowns. Jester was cut from ZEN and Magwitch's attitude means he's probably on borrowed time (again). Lenny Mochin: Back in TEW05 as ROF, I'd always sign Simon Flemmingway (a.k.a. Flemmy Lemming). Now he's with a major promotion in Japan and Mochin's taken his spot in my heart. Curious if he'll also go to Japan or head towards UEW. Hey, maybe he'll hook up with Menace Lucas Danger: I mean, will he even be alive come 2020?
  17. WINNOW Neon Genesis Evolution 15 WINNOW Neon Genesis Evolution 15 Week 4, April 2017 Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan] In Attendance: 300 (sold out) Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui Chitose Ariwara, Rei Chikanatsu & Team Endorphine vs Thea Davis, Laura Flame, Claire Winters & Ariel Breaks In a decent match, Chitose Ariwara, Rei Chikanatsu and Team Endorphine defeated Thea Davis, Laura Flame, Claire Winters and Ariel Breaks in 10:37 when Emiko Miyoshi defeated Laura Flame by pinfall with a fast roll up. Mystery Pink & Faith McGee vs Ochiyo Iijima & Eri Sato In a decent match, Mystery Pink and Faith McGee defeated Ochiyo Iijima and Eri Sato in 14:13 when Mystery Pink defeated Ochiyo Iijima by pinfall with a Flying Body Press. Romi Yamato and Torment & Sorrow vs Joanne Rodriguez & Tex-Mex In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Romi Yamato and Torment & Sorrow defeated Joanne Rodriguez and Tex-Mex in 14:03 when Yu Hashimoto defeated Houston Handley by pinfall with The End Game. During the main event, Houston Handley hit Maki Yoshifumi with a cringe-worthy Texan Destroyer (flipping piledriver) that was poorly executed, leading to Hashimoto's furious response for the finish. Fans were left wondering if the ending was rushed or whether Hashimoto had taken some liberties during the finale, but whatever the case, Yoshifumi ended the night on a stretcher with Yamato escorting her to the back. Clearly emotional at having to cut the go-home promo that kept her from being with her tag team partner, Yu Hashimoto stated that normally she and Yoshifumi would be gunning for a shot at the WWA World Tag Team titles, but after her partner's obvious injury, she was out for revenge: come WINNOW Full Force in two weeks, she demanded a one on one match against Houston Handley! 18. Not quite. We both wanted to go with Findlay O'Farraday really, but 9 saves out of 10 he gets signed by Burning Hammer within the first couple of months.
  19. Jerry: I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but we are finally here with a breakdown of Chi-Town Urban Combat's latest show, Absolute Power! Calvin: I think by this point it's no surprise the show was once again not held anywhere near Chicago or the state of Illinois, is it? Jerry: Certainly not, so let's dive into the wrestlecrap that is the promotion love to hate and everyone loves to make fun of and their July 2016 show, CTUC Absolute Power! w Calvin: And dive we really did, headfirst too, with a wild, crazy, chaotic, overbooked spotfest of a hardcore match that opened the show. Kurtis Payne, who we haven't seen in a while, got a shot out of the blue at the CTUC Bucket of Blood title and Chi Church Cult representative, Orcus. Jerry: The booking really was out of the blue with this one, so they made it super crazy to distract from the lack of any reason or storyline leading to this match. Also, I should bring up Orcus' stamina, he's shaped up his frame but still needs to work on his cardio if he wants to work a simple 10 minute match proper. Calvin: A tables match, no less, stipulation that plays well into the hardcore nature of this match and the title in general, I think they got that part right. And it also gave Scarlett Church a lot to do at ringside, like set up tables for the champion and pull one away just in time to prevent Orcus from going through it when Payne chokeslammed him off the apron. Jerry: That's true, this match was a lot abut Church as much as it was about the wrestlers themselves, like you said Calvin, overbooked to the finish, with her playing into the finale to make sure that Orcus retained. Calvin: With all the issues in this one, it still was a well put together and well executed hardcore match, a strong opener and just a quarter of a star above CTUC's usual two-star threshold. Jerry: You know, the follow up was probably just as good with Chris Moxley joining in for a beatdown on the fallen challenger. Moxley got a good reaction on his promo too, something about the title's name and how they were going to actually draw a bucket of blood out of Payne as sacrifice or communion or something... Calvin: Well they did beat Kurtis Payne to the point where he bled profusely, but you know who the scent of blood was bound to bring out... Both: EL CHUPACABRA! Jerry: That was actually pretty good, it made sense and I know I never saw it coming. They're probably setting him up as the next one to challenge Orcus and oddly enough, I'm kinda intrigued to see that match now. Calvin: I noticed our favourite Mexican monster was a bit more muscular since we last saw him a couple of months back. He seems to have taken well to it also, his body language played into that and I think as terrible as this character is, he's poured his heart into it. That's a cult hit in the making, mark my words. Jerry: So once the Chi Church Cult retreated and the monster did his roaring or whatever that was, out comes Mikey Malice to join the announcing team for the next match. Pretty standard stuff, considering that match would be a triple threat to determine his next challenger... Calvin: I gotta say, I wasn't thrilled about this match because as soon as I heard of the stipulation and saw who was in it, I knew how it was going to go down. I mean, Simba was the first man Malice faced for the title, Starr is probably the one he'll be feuding with long term, so I knew right there and then Vanity would win. Jerry: A return to form and the usual two star classics CTUC has us used to, I'll admit I didn't think of it that way but it still was nothing to write home about either. Calvin: I'm kinda curious to see where they go with this next though, because Vanity pulled off an unorthodox win via roll up, which fits his character, the question is, will Mikey Malice pull the trigger on a title switch? I think his ongoing saga for acceptance by the Seven Deadly Sins would take an interesting turn if he showed up holding the top prize in CTUC. Jerry: Knowing Malice, he probably won't play ball. Plus the Sins already hold the tag titles and... alright, I won't spoil the main event, we'll get back to this in a moment. Calvin: They teased it though, with Vanity and Malice having a staredown while the announcers brought all that up. And then off to the main event we went. Jerry: So there you go alpha2117, Avarice finally made her main show CTUC debut... Calvin: And the mysterious 10th participant proved to be Exotico Muerta. Jerry: I'd be surprised if they brought in a new face on a roster that's already bigger than they can afford, but I'm not sure about where I stand on this decision. Calvin: What do you mean, Jerry? Jerry: Well, for starters, let me say I'm glad they handled Exotico as an Exotico instead of trying to pretend he fooled everyone and passed as a woman. Calvin: That would have been a little hard when you got Lust in that match. Jerry: Yeah and that's probably why we were spared of any gay or transgender jokes, come to think of it. Back to my point though, the way they presented him, I was conflicted. Exotico Muerta is a man and was treated as a man, so if you're going to go that way, why not pick a bigger man and make him the monster heel of the match? Calvin: That would have been one way to go about this, but since he is the high flyer of the Exoticos group, I imagine they picked him to make the match more even. Figure it was easier for the girls to work a high flyer than a big bruiser. Jerry: This was the eye candy match of the night though, we probably shouldn't be taking it that seriously. Calvin: But it was a title match! And a royal rumble, you don't get those so often. I see your point though, they probably went with someone who looks good enough and wouldn't make the wrestling action too spicy to distract from all the jiggling and flesh on display. Jerry: So you got all three of the Devil's Playthings in this match. Four ladies from the Sins group. Abominatrix and Anna-belle who are quite similar and seem to always find themselves in these 'forced teamwork' situations. And Exotico Muerta, who is on his own. And a dude. Calvin: Lot of connections in this one and of course, Muerta was the one everybody zoned in as soon as the bell rang. We've said a lot about him already but let's be honest, he was an emergency solution and fans saw right through it. He got booed, so he then got jumped and quickly eliminated, much to the fans' rejoice. Jerry: Yeah he was literally there so the set-up could pass as a 10 person rumble, then as soon as that was established, he was taken out and we had an actual 9 woman rumble. Calvin: More like three stable warfare and that was what it boiled down to by the end of the match. Shout out to Lust who managed to eliminate three people before she herself was eliminated once it came down to the final four. Jerry: So with Lust out, it was kind of down to the faction leaders. Lilith, Anna-belle and Pride. Calvin: Once Lilith got eliminated, I really thought we'd see Anna-bell the Canni-belle win. Jerry: Why so? Calvin: Well, Pride and Lilith have their respective groups to work a program with. Putting the title on Anna-belle would give her something to keep herself busy with too. Alas, it was not meant to be. I think Pride will make a great champion though, she's got the looks, she's got the skill... oh, she can talk too, as evidenced by her post-match celebration promo, almost as good as that three and a half star main event rumble. Jerry: Which brings us back to the overall title scene I was discussing earlier. The Sins now hold the Womens, no, excuse me, Baddest Bitch title and the tag titles. So assuming Vanity wins the big one, how would that impress them enough? Calvin: Well, it still is the top prize. Do you think they'd go with an angle where one group holds all the gold? Jerry: I have a hard time finding anyone in the Sins who could take that hardcore title off Orcus. Still, anything could happen. We got a show with all of its matches except one being above the usual two star threshold. That must be some kind of record for CTUC! Calvin: Two and a half stars in general for the whole show, I gotta say it may have been the best in terms of wrestling, but it was a pretty damn entertaining show overall. Jerry: If they keep it up like that, they might actually dig themselves out of the Graveyard slot eventually!
  20. Stealing all kinds of portraits and logos! Magnum Kobe© vs Takayuri 2000 I'd normally go with Taka, but Kobe needs that belt more to stay relevant. Taka will probably go for the heavyweight championship Mabuchi Furusawa vs Toshiharu Hyobanshi Tough call, Furusawa could get payback to complete his come from behind underdog Cinderella story but I figure Hyobanshi has more upside in being built up for an eventual title shot Kawashima & Koiso© vs The Machines Torii probably gonna fare better as a singles star SUKI © vs Razan Okamoto Kitoaji, Miyamoto & Fox Mask vs Gauge, Marihito & Toshuusai Edd Stone vs Sam Keith
  21. Jay Chord's character and storyline is MONEY. This must be the first time ever I actually bother to keep tabs on this guy, excellent booking/writing! Day 5 Star Studs vs Black House Yoshinaka Taku vs Mabuchi Furusawa RAGE (Nariaki Hitomi, Tsurayuki Kamachi, Bussho Makiguchi & Chojiro Kitoaji) vs BAKUHATSU (Magnum Kobe, Emerald Angel, Dark Optimus & Elemental IV) Toshiharu Hyobanshi vs Velocidad Lionheart (Hiroyasu Gakusha, Kiminobu Kuroki and Omezo Shikitei) vs PRIDE (Kozue Kawashima, PRIDE Koiso and Crimson Dragon) Black Cobra vs Jay Chord ELITE 2000 (Bunrakuken Torii, Kadonomaro Kamisaka and Koji Kojima) vs Kensai (Eisaku Hoshino, Mito Miwa and Funakoshi) Day 6 The Kingdom (Total Eclipse & Star Studs) vs RAGE (Demolition & KitaGuchi) ELITE 2000 (Takayuri 2000 & The Machines) vs BAKUHATSU (Magnum Kobe & Future Shock) Kawashima & Koiso vs Risky Business Black House vs Team Breakdown Funakoshi & Okakura vs Gakusha & MYSTIC Dragon PRIDE (Yakuza & Acid II) VS BAKUHATSU (Prodigy & Emerald Angel)
  22. Looks like Edd Stone stole Painmaker Christ Jericho's look there... Honestly, it's a huge roster I'm not yet that familiar with, so I have to go back to the first page, then scroll up and down several times to check who is in the tournament groups and who isn't. I'll just pass and let you book your heart out, I'm just glad to be along for the ride Takayuri 2000 & Torii vs Black House Jay Chord vs Mabuchi Furusawa The Gauge Brothers vs Ronin Black Cobra vs Mabuchi Furusawa (is this some kind of error or are these two pulling double duty?) Lionheart (Fox Mask, Masked Cougar & MYSTIC Dragon) vs Kensai (Cameron Vessey, Pretty Okakura and Razan Okamoto) Toshiharu Hyobanshi vs Black Cobra Amagawa & Crimson Dragon vs Toma & Sam Keith
