  1. Thank you all, we are both really excited to get this project off the ground and explore new ways of playing this game as well as writing a diary. Truth is, I did pitch the idea of WPL as a possibility while Historian probably had a SCCW save/diary in his head for a while, but we went with the latter for a multitude of reasons. I think the most important aspects are that SCCW has a history we can tap into right from our first show, as well as that nostalgia factor that real world NWA does.

  3. Shocking news for Piledriver Wrestling fans as Canada's CGC officially announced the signing of Masked Patriot. Though it is unknown how the DeColt powerhouse promotion intends to use such a strongly American character, the move has certainly put a new twist on Patriot's upcoming clash with Spencer Spade, as where previously fans were certain that Patriot would win to unify the belts and reture the NYCW Empire title, now there is a very real chance that Piledriver Wrestling will be forced to take the title off him somehow. Social networks and YouTube channels are already alive with scenarios and speculation, the flames fanned further by the fact that it is yet unknown whether Patriot's contract will be exclusive or if it will also allow him to work for other companies besides CGC. Masked Patriot won't be the only loss for Piledriver Wrestling as just one month after they parted ways with COTT, Lee Wright announced that he will be leaving the business altogether after this month's Sam Keith Classic XI. "I am proud of my career as a wrestler, but even prouder of my legacy as a trainer and promoter" Wright mentioned, without however naming his successor. What has been named, or rather, re-named, is the tournament itself, trading Sam Keith's name for that of Lee Wright. With both the man and the promotion who started the tournament now gone, the decision was made shortly after Wright's announcement in what was seen as an attempt from the promotion to make the tournament their own instead of keeping it as a MAW relic. Still, given Wright's history alongside Raymond Diaz in PGHW, with 5 Glory Tag Crowns and 3 wins of the Elite Tag Team Series, there is little doubt that he has all the credentials needed to have a tag team tournament named after him. Wright's possible successors at the helm of Piledriver Wrestling include Alison "Gorgon" Rush, who has been Wright's assistant Road Agent for the company as well as his successor training rookies at the Piledriver Wrestling School, former NYCW announcer Marvin Earnest and Piledriver Wrestling original Riley McManus. Although all three fit the bill given their preference for oldschool American wrestling such as the style Piledriver Wrestling has been promoting, one should not count out Ross "The Boss" Henry as another potential owner. The former Colorado Rapids football star has the money, fame and media appeal to potentially take over once Wright retires and given the company's rapid rise, he might actually be the best pick if Piledriver Wrestling wants to have a chance at competing with the likes of TCW, SWF and USPW. Speaking of competing with the nation's wrestling powerhouses, Piledriver Wrestling has been consistently outperforming SWF's developmental territory, Rhode Island Pro Wrestling and a story that surfaced recently shows that rivalry is far from over. With Avalanche and Brutus Milano wrestling at War for Territory #43, sources leaked a story about the duo being a replacement team, with the original plans being Avalanche teaming with his former RIPW teammate, Chill. According to insiders, both Avalanche and Chill had left RIPW and were offered deals to participate in the Lee Wright Classic, however RIPW messed that plan up by offering a new developmental deal to Chill, thus forcing Piledriver Wrestling to team Avalanche with Milano instead. Emma Bitch and Jebediah were the latest victims of a roster cut following the buyout of NYCW, both reportedly having departed on good terms but not that likely to return in the future. At age 35 and 32 respectively, the two wrestlers haven't got time on their side and on top of that, inside sources cited that Piledriver Wrestling and booker "El Masked Sheik" Ali Al Avatar wishes to further release workers on the older side of things in order to promote young new talent, especially graduates of the dojo. That plan may be put on hold though following Lee Wright's announcement and there is no doubt that Piledriver Wrestling's new owner will be looking to put their own mark on the company once they take over.
  4. War for Territory #43 War for Territory #43 Saturday, Week 2 July, 2021 Live from Pennsylvania Park, PA Avalanche & Brutus Milano vs Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner The opening match was a treat to Tri-State fans as much as a teaser for the upcoming Sam Keith Classic, as the former NYCW team of Avalanche and Brutus Milano rejoined forces against the master and apprentice paring of Riley McManus and Quentrel Garner. Milano's stereotypical "Italian New Yorker" routine really seemed to get under the fans' skin, which was great as his antics drew attention away from his ring rust. McManus and Garner were rock solid as usual, but it was big man Avalanche who stole the show by pulling off a one-handed Choke Bomb on McManus for the dominant pin, a sign that his team means business in this year's tournament. Winners: Avalanche & Brutus Milano, by pinfall Xavi Ferrera took to the ring next, cutting a promo to announce that he would be facing the big bad amish Jebediah next, in a punitive match for his team's actions at last month's Gang Wars show. Ferrera further announced that although he hadn't been immediately fired like Frederique Antonio Garcia was at the end of that show, he had been forced to wrestle for his career tonight. Jebediah had everything to gain and nothing to lose though, so it would only be fair, on top of making the match more exciting, if Jebediah also put his career on the line to make this a Loser Leaves Piledriver Wrestling fight! Loser Leaves Piledriver Wrestling "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera vs Jebediah Given the stipulation, the two wrestlers told an intense story of them fighting for their job in a classic "David vs Goliath" take but with the extra spin of both men being supremely athletic. This helped keep the match pace pretty fast and showcase Jebediah as being more than just a cookie cutter plodding big man, as well as push Ferrera to skip his usual tricks or fan teasing in order to do some top notch, straightforward wrestling. The duo got a great reaction when Jebediah reversed a Ferrerarana attempt into a powerbomb for a two count, while the finish saw Ferrera barely get out the way before a Sundown Splash hit him, hopping onto the ropes to respond with a High Impact Frog Splash that earned him the fall. Winner: "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera, by pinfall With Lisa Bowen at the helm and on the mic, Bowen Services appeared in full force as their manager sang their praises for ten minutes straight, garnering a heated reaction from the live crowd. Bowen talked of Youngman's undeniable skill and Bernard's mean streak, but her main focus here was hyping up the Mid Atlantic Express in light of the upcoming Sam Keith Classic. w Killer Kass & Nancy Hollands vs Lora Washington & Laura Flame vs Sawyer Sports Services (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer) Unsurprisingly, the show was heavy on tag team wrestling and the women's side of things was no different. Title holder Killer Kass teamed with the only heel of the division to not be part of Sawyer's group and it was evident from her actions that Kass wasn't interested in being a team player but only in dodging a pinfall that would set up a title match. That would have been enough to cost her the match in a classic tag match, but this wasn't the case in this three way tag contest. Sawyer directed traffic in an attempt to either impress or defeat Kass and recruit her under his banner, while the babyface team of Lora&Laura had their hands full and plenty of beef with both their rival teams. This led to a pretty long and complicated match with a lot of momentum swings and broken up pinfalls, but eventually Kass picked her spot and hit a disoriented Dee Daniels with the Kill Switch for the pin. Winners: Killer Kass & Nancy Hollands, by pinfall Never short on confidence, Spencer Spade hit the ring and cut a promo to brag about basically being out of Lee Wright's touch due to his scheduled title match against Masked Patriot. On top of his natural arrogance, Spade's words stung especially since he was the one to get his team disqualified at Gang Wars, so Ross Henry's music hitting the speakers got a loud pop from the fans. Henry told Spade he's not as untouchable as he thinks and while his scheduled match for the Piledriver Championship would indeed not be changed, the same couldn't be said for his NYCW Empire title;Ross Henry had been granted his rematch, tonight! NYCW Empire title match "The Supreme Star" Spencer Spade © vs Ross "The Boss" Henry Just a couple of months after Spade took the title from Henry, the rematch took place and the big thing here was the absence of "Big Dog" Josh Nash from the ringside area. Still, the contest was every bit as good as the previous one, a slow burner of a match with plenty of drama and ring psychology to get fans invested before Spade robbed them once again by using the ropes to secure a pinfall, defend his title and end an otherwise solid match on a tainted note. Winner: "The Supreme Star" Spencer Spade, by pinfall after illegally using the ropes for leverage "The Supreme Star" Spencer Spade makes defence number 1 of his NYCW Empire title The show ended with Spade's scheduled opponent and Piledriver Champion coming out for a staredown. Spade was quick to retreat though, raising the NYCW Empire title in the air as a challenge, only for Masked Patriot to raise his own title belt in response, a visual reminder of their upcoming title unification match. 5. Gang Wars 2021 Gang Wars 2021 Saturday, Week 4 June, 2021 Live from McGaw Arena, CT Frederique Antonio Garcia, Spencer Spade and Xavi Ferrera take turns on the mic to open the show with a promo to hype up their main event match against Masked Patriot, Ross Henry and Nate DeMarcus. w w Robbie Wright & The Heartbreak Express (with Cheerleader Kandii) vs Reaper, Charger Siaki & "Killer" Carl Bernard (with Lisa Bowen) The opening match basically sees the return to action of the Heartbreak Express, with Kandii cheering them on as they team with the King of Charisma, Robbie Wright against a trio of big, bad, mean heels. Making the best of their speed and agility, the faces try to use hit and run tactics as well as frequent tags to keep their opponents guessing and tire them out, but it only takes a slight miscalculation for the heels to take advantage and isolate Robbie Wright on their corner. Easily manhandling Wright around, the heels manage to cut the ring in half and focus their offense on Wright, with Reaper hitting the Death Bomb on him for the pin. Winners: Reaper, Charger Siaki & "Killer" Carl Bernard, by pinfall After the match, Reaper grabs a mic and growls a challenge at Logan Diaz, saying he'll suffer a similar fate once they meet, becoming another body in the trail of corpses he's left behind him while holding the Piledriver United States title. w Sawyer Sports Services (Bitch, Daniels & Svelte) vs Washington, Flame & Winters An exciting and hotly contested bout, this one sees Bitch and Daniels bring the brawl while Svelte adds her considerable technical skills against the former Women's champion Lora Washington and two hard hitters in Flame and Winters. Momentum shifts back and forth as both teams constantly tag in a fresh member and it's a snap Flame Fire Kick on Bitch that secures the pin while Washington and Winters manage to hold the rest of Sawyer and his group from breaking up the pin. Winners: Washington, Flame & Winters, by pinfall The heels do not seem to be in the mood for a brawl and raise their arms in acceptance of their defeat as the bell rings, backing away to let the babyfaces leave at peace. However, Daniels, Svelte and Sawyer get in the ring to surround the still hazy Emma Bitch. Sawyer offers his hand to help her up, but as soon as Bitch takes it, he slaps her across the face with his other one! Snapped into action, Svelte and Daniels stomp down Bitch, with Sawyer getting on the mic to announce that Bitch is ejected from his group, before openly inviting Piledriver Women's champion Killer Kass to come fill the spot. Cali Slick, Deever Arnold & Logan Diaz vs James Diaz, Annihilus & George Wolfe That's right, former Piledriver and COTT champions the Death Squad are reunited to join fellow nasty big man James Diaz in this match. It's all power for the heels and while the faces certainly do not lack that, they make up for their slight size disadvantage by sheer skill, whether it's Slick's hardcore tricks, Arnold's high flying or Logan's technical prowess. Although it makes for an exciting match, it doesn't seem to do much damage to the opposition and in a somewhat shocking finish, the Death Squad hit Logan Diaz with their Wolfecatcher double team finisher for a clean pin. Winners: James Diaz, Annihilus & George Wolfe, by pinfall Bowen Services made their entrance next and took turns on the mic to hype themselves up and get people hot for their match next against Riley McManus and the Southern Stars. w Bowen Services (Youngman & The Mid Atlantic Express) vs Riley McManus & The Southern Stars Perhaps the most classic, oldschool bout of the entire card, this match wouldn't be out of place in a MAW or NYCW show. No one ever left their feet from bell to bell; no flips, no dives, no moves off the top or second rope even, just holds, submissions and some rugged brawling for about fifteen minutes without ever boring or losing the audience. Youngman especially seemed to gel nicely with the Express and their technical style, but it still took the assist from Lisa Bowen at ringside to pull the rope away while Collier had Harker in the Texas Cloverleaf, preventing the break so that Collier could drag Harker back into the center of the ring and force him to tap out. Winners: Bowen Services, by submission after interference from Lisa Bowen Frederique Antonio Garcia, Spencer Spade & Xavi Ferrera vs Masked Patriot, Ross Henry & Nate DeMarcus There was certainly no shortage of ego and confidence in the heel team, at times making teamwork a challenge but certainly getting heat from the fans, especially thanks to Garcia's stalling tactics every time he tried to break up the flow of the match or stop his opponents' momentum by tagging out or retreating to the outside. There was no doubt fans were 100% on the side of the all-american babyface team and just to stick it to them (and avoid a defeat he probably felt was coming) Spencer Spade got intentionally disqualified when he kicked Masked Patriot right between the legs, in full view of former NYCW referee Shane Stones, who's taken over Alvin Lavin's job after the latter decided to move to Colorado. Winners: Masked Patriot, Ross Henry & Nate DeMarcus, by disqualification Clearly unhappy with the finish of the match and show, Piledriver Wrestling owner and pro wrestling veteran Lee Wright made a rare appearance, coming out to get on the mic and inform the heels they would be receiving punishment for robbing the fans of what seemed to be a killer main event. Garcia quickly found a mic of his own to taunt Wright and act like he couldn't be touched, but Wright got the last laugh when he asked Garcia where his COTT World Heavyweight title is, a reference to him losing it just earlier that week to OLLIE's El Mitico Jr. Garcia was furious and Wright only made it worse by announcing that since Piledriver Wrestling is no longer a member of the Confederation of the Territories, that title was gone forver;and with Garcia no longer holding his precious title, he was of no further use. The punishment would begin with him as his contract would be, effective immediately, terminated! Fans cheered and Garcia threw a tantrum, yet the fact of the matter remained as the show went off the air that Wright had flexed his authority by firing him on the spot! Show Rating:
  6. Thank you. I think this is a good time to, if not stop, at least put this diary on hiatus, since I doubt I'll have another year completed by the time TEW2020 rolls around. Gonna prioritize my other diaries for a while. Thank you to all who have read, commented, predicted as well as nominated/voted for this diary in the monthly awards.

We should have seen this coming, but I guess much like NYCW's purchase, once it came about, I still felt like I wasn't ready for it. The Confederation of the Territories had finally caught up to my expansion across the entire East Coast and called for a meeting to vote on our expulsion from the alliance.</p><p> </p><p> Cat and Farrah had voted in our favor. Not because they wanted us to stay, but probably because they felt like they owed me for inviting them into the fold. They'd always been smart about avoiding conflict, both of them. Cat had AAA up in Seattle so Farrah set up shop in Texas to keep her distance. They had joined the alliance, but only had us and OLLIE to offer talent to, since everyone else didn't even feature a women's division. They benefitted from a wider talent pool, more opportunities for their own talent to work, plus the COTT Womens title I introduced. They didn't have to like us, but they didn't fear us either. This was them simply paying off their debt.</p><p> </p><p> Then there were CZCW and 4C. Cliff had survived the SoCal Wars that took down GSW, but didn't have it easy against Gil Thomas' deep pockets, even if Nemesis leaving for USPW did give him a breather. TCW was still alive in California and although it wasn't going to turn him into their developmental territory anytime soon, it was still the region's #1 promotion. The Confederation kept him safe from AAA expanding south or OLLIE north into his stomping grounds, but with us taking over the East Coast, he probably feared we'd head westwards. Same for Troy; he'd seen the fall of ACPW, survived in the shadow of CGC and NOTBPW, now probably feared I'd expand north of the border to step on his toes. They wanted me out.</p><p> </p><p> Which left Chess Maniac to make the call. Thing is, OLLIE had risen above CILL and EMLL, to the point where it was actually gearing up to challenge SOTBPW for supremacy in Mexico. He was looking upwards more than he was looking downwards. If I did make a move south of the border, it would be CILL and EMLL who'd take the hit, not OLLIE.</p><p> </p><p> "As the oldest active promotion in the world, I feel it is OLLIE's duty to defend the core values of the business" Chess Maniac began in his heavily accented English. Beside me, I could feel Lee shaking his head in disappointment already. "This is not about returning to the old days of the Territories. This is about truth, honesty and integrity. I feel Piledriver Wrestling has gone against everything the COTT stands for and as such, I vote they are expelled."</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="bTg9gTY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bTg9gTY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> I stood up slowly under the watchful eyes of Maniac. I was hoping he'd appreciate me wearing the mask 24/7 like an oldschool luchador who'd defend kayfabe to the grave. Should have worn my Sheik headdress had I known, but given the circumstances, I decided I wasn't going to do them the favor of throwing a tantrum on my way out. "Very well," I said in a matter-of-fact tone. "F**k you all, gentlemen. Ladies, appreciate the vote of confidence." I took a slight bow towards Cat and Farrah, enjoying every bit of the confusion in the air.</p><p> </p><p> "When Sam Keith invited you all to join, you were quick to embrace the mission statement of COTT" I continued, in the same deadpan delivery. It was extremely important to deliver what I had in mind with no sense of emotional tension in my voice. "When he tried to one-up Rip Chord and his Invitational by creating his own Tag Team Classic, you applauded him and rushed to send your representatives. He used MAW, he used the alliance, he used you to send his sons to Japan with Burning Hammer and land himself a deal with USPW, yet somehow we are the villains for rushing in to save MAW and NYCW, instead of letting them die out. Yet in this moment of ungratefulness, I realize he was correct. Chess Maniac there spoke of truth, honesty and integrity. Things you three gentlemen apparently lack. You've always been in this for yourselves since day one;now instead of applauding our efforts, you fear our success and seek to punish us for it. For that, I promise you, we shall become everything you've ever feared. Just like we've proven the naysayers wrong all these years, just like we've outshined Rhode Island PW, we will rise to become the behemoth you've seen in your nightmares, when you woke up in cold sweat and called this meeting hoping to prevent it from happening. So once again, thank you ladies. As for you gentlemen, in case you didn't hear it the first time around... f**k you"</p><p> </p><p> I turned around and left while the shock was still in place so they'd never get a chance to answer me. If nothing else, I could still cut a killer heel promo!</p>
  10. Calvin: Hiiiiiighwaaaaay toooo the Danger Zone! Jerry: Oh dear... Calvin: It's that time of the show, where we get to comment on CTUC's craptastic June show, Danger Zone! Jerry: Once again coming from Alberta Lea, Minesotta and decidedly not Chicago, with a somewhat lower attendance than last month... Looks like the good people of Alberta Lea are starting to develop some standards in taste when it comes to pro wrestling... w Calvin: We kick off with a match no one asked for as Killboy Powerhead took on the Chi-Church Cult, Orcus and Chris Moxley! Jerry: I'm calling it now, at just 19 years of age, Moxley is CTUC's Joey Janella. He's too good to be wrestling these garbage hardcore matches. Calvin: It was a pretty chaotic match, yeah, but that's what happens when you gotta distract fans from realizing that some of the participants can't really wrestle. Though I always enjoy that spot where Killboy uses Powerhead as a human projectile to be hurled at the opposition. Jerry: Scarlett Church was also another distraction and for all her good work, she wasn't involved in the finish. Which is a good thing for me, because if you need that assist to beat a team like Killboy Powerhead, it really kills your credibility. Calvin: I thought maybe they wanted to set up a match for Orcus' title but he hit the Sin List on Killboy and won clean, though the match itself shouldn't even make it to the two star threshold. What I'm guessing they want to do is build up the group, maybe give them a shot at the tag titles too. Jerry: They did seem to imply that in their post-match speech, which by the way was tons better than the match itself. Calvin: Speaking of the tag titles... w Calvin: ...we got a match for them next, as Gluttony & Sloth put their Deadly Duo titles on the line against The Bonechillers! Jerry: You know, I did notice in these first two matches how some folks seem to be really taking their CTUC careers seriously. Orcus used to be a real blob, but this month he reminded me more of a sumo wrestler with more muscle than fat under the hood. Same for Skullmageddon, who put some meat on that wiry frame of his. Calvin: It certainly helps his character come across as less of a joke, because Skullsy's supposed to be the joke here. Jerry: Yeah and he's the one I see a future in. Slighty better in the ring, somewhat more over with the fans... Calvin: Not that it did them much good though, they still lost the match but the important thing here was... Calvin: ...Vanity, who I should stop thinking of as Ugly Bob, showing up to attack Skullmageddon to set up the Spear from Gluttony and subsequent pin. Jerry: I'm usually critical of all things CTUC, but this one was pretty solid storytelling. Vanity's ongoing struggle to be accepted by the Sins, plus payback for Skullmageddon's post match attack last month. Calvin: Yeah and I think this title match was also set up by all those interacting in last month's show, can't remember the details. What I can remember is this was another two star classic in the books and defense number one for the champions. Took them long enough. Jerry: Then we had Tyrell Starr's promo... Calvin: Which was good, just not as good as the Chi-Church Cult earlier on. Jerry: Pretty formulaic too. I lost because of my tag partner, I want another shot, yadda yadda, no one cares... Calvin: You know what people cared about? The following match. Jerry: Oh yeah. That match... Calvin: Sex sells and make no mistake, this was the match that sold tickets. You talked about Moxley before, how about all these six being held down as nothing more than eye candy? Jerry: Fair point, though at least we were spared of the silly stipulations this time. They still showed plenty of flesh, but at least they pretended they were aiming for a pinfall, not stripping someone down to their underwear or something. Calvin: You now what else we were spared of? Abominatrix and Annabelle the Canni-belle. If you count the absence of EL CHUPACABRA! Jerry: EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: Yeah, so I was saying, when it comes to beasties and creepers, fans got a little shortchanged by this show. Jerry: It's CTUC, Calvin. As soon as they buy a ticket, they've already sold themselves short. Calvin: Gotta say though, I was pretty impressed by Pride's finishing move and calling it the Divastator only made it more awesome. Jerry: Match of the night at three and a quarter stars, which tells you all you need to know about this company's shows. Calvin: Next, we got Mariah Milan being obnoxious and talking down the audience for about five minutes... Jerry: While hornyed-up fans shouted at her to flash her tits again... Calvin: I think you're expected to check your decency and standards at the door before entering the venue. Kudos to her though, following up after that six woman match wasn't easy and she did a great job working with the fans' reactions. Jerry: Yeah it was clear she was going off script, if she ever had one to begin with. w Calvin: So finally she introduced Frankie Petruzzi and we got down to the night's main event. Jerry: Speaking of which, alpha2117 was right about Mikey Malice being the owner and booker of CTUC, we're still waiting to hear from you for winning the prize of our little contest. Now that you got all the predictions for this show right too, I'm even more intrigued for your input. Calvin: Mikey Malice put his title on the line to pay back Petruzzi for teaming with him last month and it was another Ladder match for the belt, though not as crazy as we're used to. Jerry: I thought the ladies before were tripping when it came to the flow of the match, which is crazy to think that psychology was a thing in an eye candy match in the first place, but this... Calvin: Flow and psychology is one thing, as is packing a match with spots and stunts. It's not just that, I think Malice and Petruzzi felt awkward wrestling each other. Jerry: Only stunt I can recall from the top of my head was Mariah pushing the ladder to send Mikey Malice crashing down to the outside. Calvin: Malice was lucky to walk out of that match without an injury, because Petruzzi blew more spots than he actually hit. Probably worst match of the night, together with the opener, but you expect openers to not be perfect. When your main event is like that... Jerry: The women's match had some potential of taking the show above its usual two stars, but the finish left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth so two stars it is for CTUC's Danger Zone show. No wonder they were moved to the Graveyard slot. Calvin: Which, again, I didn't feel like they took full advantage of. No creepy crawlers, no buckets of blood... Jerry: Well they seem to have noticed, Calvin, as well as the fact that it's the women's matches that get the best reactions, which is why they announced today on social media they'll be introducing an all new title for the CTUC ladies! Calvin: What?! Jerry: That's right, so fans, let us know not just what you think of the show but also who do you think should be the first ever holder of that title among CTUC's women?

Mallory starts the match against the quick tagging Ivanoff brothers and although they try to isolate him near their corner, Mallory is able to escape and tag in the powerhouse Bantom. The Czars respond by tagging in Vidmar and the two big men stare each other down in the middle of the ring for a moment before the punches start flying. Bantom eventually gets the upper hand and bullies Vidmar to his team's corner, where Orson gets the tag to become the legal man. Thanks to a series of rolling suplexes leading to a bridge and a two count, Vidmar is slammed across the ring and near the ropes, where Orson applies a crossface to soften up the big Russian's head for his Bounce Back finisher. Vidmar tries to crawl to the ropes as the Ivanoffs circle the ring to cause some tension with Bantom and Mallory. Things don't come to blows just yet, but the momentary distraction is enough for Vidmar to reach for his vodka bottle instead of the ropes, smashing it on top of Orson's head. Fortunately for the Outcasts, the blow sends Orson tumbling out of the ring so no pin is made, but the match essentially continues as a 3 on 2 bout. The remaining two members of the Outcasts team show plenty of fire but the numbers game eventually catches up to them once the Ivanoffs hit the Russian Roulette on Mallory on the apron. The champions converge on Bantom next and with some assistance to lift him up, Vidmar slams Bantom down with the Bratva Bomb, making the cover to keep the titles around the waists of the Czars.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Czars (Dovydas Vidmar & The Ivanoff Brothers)</strong></p><p><strong> The Czars make defence number 2 of their NGW Open Collective titles</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="5AVZwfY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/5AVZwfY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="12XzW2n.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/12XzW2n.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="nYhxOYi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nYhxOYi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="o21XngA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/o21XngA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Backstage, Vita is supposed to be interviewing the Army of Lovers but despite her best attempts, the trio of Bruno, Ricci and Gandalfini seem more interested in being flirtatious with her, at times a bit past the point of good taste.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="xubMr0F.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xubMr0F.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> Ryushi Ryusaki walks into the scene as the proverbial knight in shining armor to rescue Vita, telling the three Italians to leave her alone. There's the past (Jacobs), present (Girl Power) and future (Edwards) of the NGW Women's division on display; there's the teaming experience of Girl Power up against the natural chemistry of the Wrecking Krew. There is Behr's recent successful teaming with Rodriguez and Nakajima's time in EWA that create questions about their ability to still function as a team. There's Edwards' recent injury that kept her off for a while. There's Jacobs' growth from a one-dimensional powerhouse bully to a well rounded athlete that moves and even flies with grace you wouldn't expect from a woman her size. All of that is up on display, the wrestlers telling their stories between the ropes while the announcers break it down and provide context for the ten or so minutes this match goes on before Behr hits a Standing Moonsault on Jacobs for the pin, a symbolic passing of the torch from the Hall of Famer to the one who's about to break into the top of the division as a legitimate future title contender.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Girl Power</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="VqnREXC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VqnREXC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="iyN2viL.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iyN2viL.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="KBU74Hx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KBU74Hx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> John Silver, Leon Harrison and Sebastian Krause come out next to a specially prepared booth on top of the entrance ramp. Far from a slow and methodical technical masterclass though, Mäkinen and Edison fought this at a breakneck pace that felt like it belonged less in a wrestling ring and more inside an MMA cage. Mäkinen sought to take his opponent to the mat and work on his legs to lock up the Swedish Grapevine, while Edison shot for his opponent's upper body in search of the armbar. With plenty of counterholds and evasions, the match flowed back and forth until Mäkinen finally managed to slap on the Swedish Grapevine in the middle of the ring after a series of snap suplexes that had take the air out of Edison's sails to bring about the tap out.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner AND NEW NGW Openweight champion: Konrad Mäkinen</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mfLTAxW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mfLTAxW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="N1zhldv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/N1zhldv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Following Mäkinen's win, Shiro Akuma's music hits and the masked wrestler walks down to the ring, signalling to the new champion that he wants to be the first in line to challenge him for his brand new title.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Three Way Tag Elimination match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="PFb9alT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PFb9alT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="M2RTO0E.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M2RTO0E.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="BJ5XbNO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BJ5XbNO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h8WdOUv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h8WdOUv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="lWDkCJs.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lWDkCJs.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="nQjGF52.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nQjGF52.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Double Dutch vs Team Fly vs The Foreign Legion</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Double Dutch and Team Fly are both well known, veteran teams who have held tag team gold, meaning that French technical wrestlers Jaqcues and Pierre DuPont enter this match as the underdogs. As such (and probably as a joke fitting their offensively stereotypical gimmicks) they shy away from any tags for most of the match, preferring to let their opponents wear each other out. Once Lister hits a Kanobi Kutter on Van Heer though, the DuPonts see their chance and quickly drag Lister away from the cover to forcibly tag themselves into the match and steal the pin. Van Heer kicks out though and that leads to Double Dutch versus the Foreign Legion for a bit, the Frenchmen doing their best to ground the plucky underdog high flyers but eventually falling to their Orange Wave double team maneuver. The match down to Double Dutch and Team Fly again, things pick up without the distraction of the DuPonts on the apron and after a spectacular crescendo, Van Bon is hit with a Mile High Moonsault. Van Heer tries to make the save but Lister cuts him off as Van Bon kicks out of Matravers' cover. A quick tag later, Lister is the legal man and picks up Van Bon to deliver a Kanobi Kutter, this time enough to keep him down for the count while Van Heer is reeling at ringside.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Team Fly</strong></p><p> <img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The video that aired during the latest episode of Proving Ground is shown again, hyping up the "Kawaii Krew". Although this match featured very little mat grappling and submission holds, it was far from a wild brawl, instead the power and intensity of it was delivered with great finesse, making it a very precise and physical bout one would expect to see in a Japanese strong style promotion. Signe Lythjohan was a priceless bonus on the champions' corner, providing an extra set of eyes and a clear head to guide them in the heat of battle against two formidable opponents. Though pretty non intrusive, Lythjohan still provided a single distraction her men exploited to mess with Captain Hero's mask and rake Howard's eyes, the slight opening allowing them to pull off double Northern Lights Suplexes and throw their massive bodies on top for stereo covers to retain.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Johanssons</strong></p><p><strong> The Johanssons make defence number 4 of their NGW Tag Team titles</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="CaTwuAY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CaTwuAY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Cruiserweight title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="wuo51A1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wuo51A1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="HauWBe7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HauWBe7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong>w</strong><img alt="sbFUnpv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sbFUnpv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Champagne Lover vs "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller © (with Viper McKenna)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> First of the night's final three big matches, this one pitted the 26 year old German champion against the high flying and hard hitting Champagne Lover. If there's one thing this match was in no shortage of, it was egos and charisma. Apparent already from their respective entrances and how they worked the crowd before the match, their similarities weren't limited to cockiness and physical size; once they got to wrestling, it quickly became apparent they both had an amazing knack for chain wrestling. Whether it was countering each other's moves back and forth in elaborate sequences or chaining their own attacks into offensive combinations, the two men barely threw a single move on its own from bell to bell. Things got a bit out of hand when Koller reversed a high flying move from Lover to send him out of the ring, which led to a rough ringside brawl that Koller got the best of but only came away with a two count once he was back in the ring for the cover. Lover also had a big moment when he reversed a Hamburg Rock City attempt into a huracanrana that sent Koller face first into the corner, only for Lover to catch him as he rebounded with a Lover Stunner for another two count. The match escalated as both wrestlers took ever greater risks and pulled ever bigger moves, with Lover almost hitting another Lover Stunner before McKenna pulled him away and planted a kiss square in his mouth. Fans went wild, Lover lost his concentration for a split second and that was all Koller needed to pick him up for the Hamburg Rock City that gave him the pinfall.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller</strong></p><p><strong> "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller makes defence number 2 of his NGW Cruiserweight title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="</strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9fvu951up_0" rel="external nofollow"><strong>https://www.youtube.com/embed/9fvu951up_0"</strong></a><strong> frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="EfcDrdW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EfcDrdW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> It's Hardcore Hernandez! Hardcore Hernandez is back after a run in EWA where he also held the Europa title and he cuts a scathing promo to call himself the true underutilized star in NGW. From now on, he'll take care of himself, for himself, without relying on others or having to watch anyone else's back but his own!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="0eQDv0J.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0eQDv0J.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Heavyweight title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="z14nlSx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/z14nlSx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="TgQORsF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TgQORsF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> "The Alpha Male" Edward Cornell © vs "The Moscow Mauler" Marat Khoklov</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> A match half year in the making, this one began with Khoklov winning the King of the Ring Starmageddon match in June for the right to face the NGW Heavyweight champion at End of the World. Although the title was at the time held by Champagne Lover, the latter lost it to Edward Cornell the following month, leading to the night's matchup. Ever since, the two men had interesting trajectories: Cornell made some shady defenses while using his Real Deal group for his own ends, while Khoklov led the Czars from the background while scoring impressive victories over the likes of Champagne Lover and Captain Hero II. The interesting part in this match was how well studied Cornell came into it. Well aware that he couldn't hope to win a standing battle against the Russian giant, Cornell employed scything kicks to chop him down while smartly avoiding all of his moves, seemingly a step ahead of him. Khoklov was brought down to one knee, but once Cornell closed in, he grabbed him in his arms for a bear hug as he slowly regained his vertical base. Cornell did not submit, but the air had definately been squeezed out of his lungs, maybe some of his ribs were broken too, the important thing is Khoklov gained control of the match after that spot. Slowly dismantling Cornell with big slams and blugeoning blows, Marat beat the champion into a pulp as if he was enjoying the process and from the sound of it, the sold out crowd certainly was. Despite the beatdown, Cornell miraculously managed to kick out of a Moscow Lariat and while it kept him in the match, it only infuriated Khoklov further, leading to a Russian Legend Powerbomb that finally kept him down for the three count, with Khoklov winning the title to become the first ever four-time NGW Heavyweight champion in history.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner AND NEW NGW Heavyweight champion: "The Moscow Mauler" Marat Khoklov</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="cTU1ZCQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cTU1ZCQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yWLqNGq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yWLqNGq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="UPg1dYS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UPg1dYS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="04N0aQ1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/04N0aQ1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="eAP3R7j.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eAP3R7j.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="SoeMY3z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SoeMY3z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Cornell's troubles weren't over though, because Roy Edison, the Lawal twins, Wael Hossam and Aleksander Knyazev all showed up like vultures to surround the ring and block his escape. Knyazev, now seemingly aligned with the others, took the first shot and everyone piled on Cornell for a beatdown as the Real Deal finally imploded or at least kicked Cornell out of the helm. Sick of Cornell's antics, his cockiness and his treatment of the group for months, fans cheered on as each man hit his finishing move on Cornell, leaving him bloodied and beaten in the center of the ring as medical staff ran in to check on him.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="hq0wF4D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hq0wF4D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Women's title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="4UjzUdM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/4UjzUdM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yNQekBM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yNQekBM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez © vs "The Gothic Grappler" Fusae Etsuko</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Rodriguez and Etsuko had no small task headlining the show, especially after everything that preceeded their match, but they delivered like they always do: a half hour epic contest that is sure to go down in the history books as one of the best matches NGW has ever had to date. The chemistry was there, as were the history and drama, yet the two women wrestled like proper athletes: no theatrics, no hatred on display, just two world class wrestlers out to prove who is the best of them. Rodriguez even pulled off an Amazon Plunge, a nod and a tribute to Etsuko's greatest opponent to date, Geena the Warrior Princess, getting a loud reaction and a near fall as a result. Etsuko showcased all the signature traits of her joshi training, from stiff strikes to slick technical wrestling, graceful high flying, athleticism and resilience as she chased the Lullaby. Rodriguez countered it once or twice, escaped it another time and almost tapped out to it before she mustered one final burst of courage to reach the ropes for a break. Likewise, Rodriguez made several attempts to pull off the J-Rocker, with Etsuko escaping the set-up front facelock before the move could be completed. She even hit Etsuko with her own Darkness Falls running knee, getting another near fall and just past the thirty minute mark, she finally managed to execute a J-Rocker for a pin.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez</strong></p><p><strong> Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez makes defence number 2 of her NGW Womens title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p>

Back to the Future, Monday Week 4 of December 2013 NGW Back to the Future (Weekly TV show) Held on Monday, Week 4 of December 2013 Venue: PalaBari, Italy, Europe Attendance: 3.954, Ratings: 0.71 (534.650 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 The show starts with a promo from Champagne Lover, who hypes up his upcoming singles match with Sebastian Koller. Too long, he says, he has been out of the spotlight and without a championsihp; this changes at the end of this week, when he'll take the NGW Cruiserweight title from "The Rock and Roller" Alberto Montero vs Roy Edison In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Roy Edison defeated Alberto Montero in 9:49 by submission with an Arm Bar. The Czars are doing another interview with Vita about their NGW Open Collective titles match against the Outcasts when Petter Eriksson walks into the scene to interrupt and inform Vidmar he'd better get ready for a one on one match against him later tonight. A video plays recapping the rivalry between Joanne Rodriguez and Fusae Etsuko, ending with a graphic about how they'll wrestle once again at End of the World for the NGW Women's title. "The Bratva Bruiser" Dovydas Vidmar vs Petter Eriksson In a decent match, Dovydas Vidmar defeated Petter Eriksson in 9:42 by pinfall with a Bratva Bomb. The League of Heroes are shown at the gym training as Captain Hero II and Robert Howard prepare for their match against the Johanssons. The announcing team praise the skill of Lister and Matravers but wonder how effective they can be as training partners when the scheduled opponent is completely different, namely the two Norwegian powerhouses. "The Moscow Mauler" Marat Khoklov vs Giovanni Bruno In a decent match, Marat Khoklov defeated Giovanni Bruno in 10:19 by pinfall with a Russian Legend Powerbomb. Edward Cornell runs to the ring after the match with a chair in hand, looking to soften up Marat before their match later this week. Cornell takes the shot from behind and the chair whacks Marat's back, but the hit only seems to infuriate him further and the show goes off the air as Khoklov glares menacingly at Cornell, who retreats to the backstage area. 19. WINNOW Strive to Survive 2017 <div style="padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #DAA520; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"> WINNOW Strive to Survive 2017 Week 2, March 2017 Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan] In Attendance: 293 Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui Hiranuma Makoto: Welcome everyone, welcome to WINNOW Strive to Survive 2017! My name is Hiranuma Makoto and with me as always, Yuko Okui. Yuko Okui: Great to be here, I am excited for a night of action and our main event, Joanne Rodriguez defending the WINNOW Grand Champion title against "The Dragon's Daughter" and former WINNOW Rising Champion, Ginko Kuroda! Hiranuma Makoto: Will Kuroda rise to the top as champion or can Rodriguez retain? Yuko Okui: Rodriguez is also the WWA World champion but Kuroda did manage to pin her last month so I feel this could end up going either way. Hiranuma Makoto: But that is not all, we also have Hunter-Killers finally Facing Torment and Sorrow with the WINNOW Duet titles on the line, a match in the making since Yu Hashimoto and Maki Yoshifumi first joined the company several months ago! Yuko Okui: Plus plenty more matches incluing this next one, featuring the debut of two new wrestlers! Deborah Young, Faith McGee, Mystery Pink & Houston Handley vs Asami Okubo, Fuyuko Uoya, Hoshiko Tagawa & Akuro Shionoya A standard eight woman match to warm up the crowd, this one was also a young lioness showcase as well as the debut of Hoshiko Tagawa and Akuro Shionoya. The only things worthy of note here were both negative, on one hand (no pun intended) Deborah Young seemed like she injured her hand when she threw a punch that landed at an awkward angle and on the other, Uoya's stamina (or lack thereof) showed even in such a crowded ten minute match, which is probably why she also was the one who ended up taking the pin. Winners: Deborah Young, Faith McGee, Mystery Pink & Houston Handley Finish: Houston's Problem [Pump Kick] Chitose Ariwara, Rei Chikanatsu & Nami Genda vs Ochiyo Iijima, Eri Sato & Rika Tsujimura More undercard matches ahead, this one was slightly better as it was not only less crowded, but also featured past and present title holders in Ariwara, Chikanatsu and Iijima. Less of an opportunity to set up title matches and more of a learning experience for the young lions, the match went on for about ten minutes and Sato wrapped it up with a pin over Nami Genda. Winners: Ochiyo Iijima, Eri Sato & Rika Tsujimura Finish: Buzzsaw Kick BATTLE BEASTS vs Laura Flame & Claire Winters Moving on to tag team contests, the regular team of BATTLE BEASTS faced a tough challenge in hard hitting gaijin Flame and Winters, the former getting some good cheers when she pulled off a couple of moves made famous in Japan by her mentor but the latter actually scoring the pin. Winners: Laura Flame & Claire Winters Finish: Flying Knee Strike Team Endorphine vs Thea Davis & Ariel Breaks Breaks' first ever match on the main card of a WINNOW show and she did not disappoint, her natural charisma and bubbly babyface character quickly winning fans over as much as her in-ring skill did. Having Davis on her team didn't hurt either, but up against the natural chemistry and teaming experience of their opponents, it was a fight they could not win and Breaks was hit with the Endorphine Rush before getting pinned. Winners: Team Endorphine Finish: Endorphine Rush [Low Dropkick & Double Foot Stomp combination] WINNOW Duet titles match Hunter-Killers vs Torment & Sorrow Torment & Sorrow debuted in WINNOW's final show of 2016, meaning it took three months before they were actually in a match against Hunter-Killers for the tag team titles. The champions' natural chemistry was countered by the challengers' experience together and with all four women knowing each other very well thanks to their time with 5SSW, no one rushed into any careless attacks, fearful as they were about making the first mistake. Though uncharacteristic of WINNOW's usual fast paced, junior style wrestling, this match was nevertheless wonderful and if nothing else, an interesting change from the usual stuff as it went on for over sixteen minutes before Hashimoto finally got lucky and her End Game connected with Makiko's jaw to almost knock her out cold. Yoshifumi came in flying to hit Dragon Assassin and keep her at bay, with Hashimoto making the cover to finally unseat Hunter-Killers from the top of the WINNOW Tag Team division. Winners AND NEW WINNOW Duet champions: Torment & Sorrow Finish: The End Game [spinning Back Fist] WINNOW Grand Champion title match Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez vs "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda The main event was a return to WINNOW's usual quick pace, with Kuroda wrestling her usual breakneck technical style but not quite managing to keep the champion down for too long. Rodriguez was more than able to keep up and respond in a match that, although solid, probably had to deal with a crowd that was already burned up by the semi main event. Thankfully, this wasn't as long and Rodriguez succeeded in her first defense of the belt, smashing Kuroda's dreams of a title reign as much as she smashed her face to the canvas with her J-Rocker finishing maneuver. Winner: Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez [Defenses:1] Finish: J-Rocker [Face Crusher with a twist from a Front Facelock] Rodriguez was handed the title and a micophone but before she could begin her go-home promo, Romi Yamato came out to announce that she wanted to be the next one to challenge her for the WINNOW Grand Champion title. Rodriguez pointed out that Yamato was already the WINNOW Rising Champion but since she wasn't the type to back down from a challenge, she requested something in return: Rodriguez then put over her good friend Thea Davis who, as she said, has been putting on show stealing performances for all of 2016 but hasn't even been given a chance to wrestle for any title. If Yamato would be willing to put her title on the line against Davis, then Rodriguez would give her a shot at the WINNOW Grand Champion title in return. Show Rating: </div>
  20. Proving Ground, Tuesday Week 2 of December 2013 NGW Proving Ground (Weekly TV show) Held on Wednesday, Week 2 of December 2013 Venue: Nagy Budapest Arénában, Hungary, Europe Attendance: 4.546, Ratings: 0.61 (459.430 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 The show kicks off with the Outcasts as Viper McKenna gets on the mic to cut a promo about Koller's now-scheduled match against Champagne Lover for the NGW Cruiserweight title, then saying that Bantom, Orson and Mallory will challenge the Czars for the NGW Open Collective titles. McKenna makes sure to be extra venomous about the way Landon Mallory has yet again been mistreated by management, as he was suspended for "a minor transgression" but promises that he will be back and ready in time for End of the World! Darkness Cat vs Megumi Nakajima vs Melanie Flyman vs Zofia Jankovic In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Melanie Flyman defeated Darkness Cat, Megumi Nakajima and Zofia Jankovic in 9:57 when Melanie Flyman defeated Darkness Cat by pinfall with a Ninjitsu Strike. Double Dutch cut a promo next, saying they also want a shot at the NGW Tag Team titles when John Silver walks in to announce that next week, they will be facing him and Shiro Akuma in a tag match. Double Dutch laugh at the mention, saying Akuma is no team player and this will be too easy, but accept, if nothing else out of sheer curiosity. Tournament match "Stone Cold Killer" Konrad Mäkinen vs Ryushi Ryusaki In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Konrad Mäkinen defeated Ryushi Ryusaki in 9:33 by submission with a Swedish Grapevine. Vita is here again, this time interviewing Ripper LeStat about his semifinals match against Leon Harrison next week. LeStat looks confident, saying he'll make Harrison bleed and then lose. Tournament match Andriy Boronin vs "The Fresh Prince of Belarus" Sergei Kalashnov In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Andriy Boronin defeated Sergei Kalashnov in 10:08 by stoppage when Sergei Kalashnov was injured and could not continue. 21. Back to the Future, Monday Week 2 of December 2013 NGW Back to the Future (Weekly TV show) Held on Monday, Week 2 of December 2013 Venue: Nagy Budapest Arénában, Hungary, Europe Attendance: 4.432, Ratings: 0.71 (534.490 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 Not seen for over a year in NGW, Swedish manager Vita returns but this time as an interviewer. Not that Champagne Lover seems to mind much and between being flirtatious with her, he cuts a promo to accept Sebastian Koller's challenge for an NGW Cruiserweight match at End of the World, saying the belt should be around the waist of a proper representative of that weight division, that of course being "the lucha sensation" himself! "The Steppe Cowgirl" Anna Twirl vs Jeri "Air" Behr In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Jeri Behr defeated Anna Twirl in 10:43 by pinfall with a Standing Moonsault. Edward Cornell is cutting another promo about his upcoming match at End of the World against Marat Khoklov when he's interrupted again by the Czars, this time in the form of Dovydas Vidmar. The tension is broken up by the appearance of the NGW Commissioner, Sebastian Krause, who books a match on the fly: Vidmar will face Koller's ally Roy Edison, with the winner moving on to represent the brand at End of the World as a contender for the brand new Openweight title. w "The Bratva Bruiser" Dovydas Vidmar vs Roy Edison (with Edward Cornell) In a decent match, Roy Edison defeated Dovydas Vidmar in 13:38 by submission with an Arm Bar after interference from Edward Cornell. The League of Heroes take turns on the mic (except Howard, who just stands in the background looking mean) to announce that since they've all held tag team gold on various occasions and in various combinations, they are planning to challenge the Johanssons for their NGW Tag Team titles. This brings out the reigning champions and Signe Lythjohan gets on the mic to say they accept, no matter which pair will end up wrestling;the Norwegian titans will crush them anyway! "The Moscow Mauler" Marat Khoklov vs Aleksander Knyazev In a decent match, Marat Khoklov defeated Aleksander Knyazev in 10:14 by pinfall with a Russian Legend Powerbomb. Show Rating:
  22. OWC Heavyweight Championship – Cage match Seth Whitehead (w/Clare South) vs Robin DaLay Comments: Robin's probably too good for OWC. Also, he's Canadian. Fugheddaboudit! Casket match Martyr vs Oniji Hanari Comments: Martyr, in his own twisted way, has been good to Silas. Hanari, not so much. Plus the note after Thunders' firing hints at him. Last Man Standing match Silas Odswald vs Lucas Danger Comments: Who needs a teacher vs student match when you can get a dealer vs junkie match? Phobia vs Hurakan vs Swipe Romero Comments: Who cares about luchadors in OWC, but at least Phobia is also a psycho, which seems to be a plus for OWC employees. Texas Hangman vs Danjuro Kikuchi Comments: I know I've said Hangman reminds me of Undertaker, but given Kikuchi's cowboy gimmick and frequent religious speeches, this is going to be like a glorious, cheap parody of Taker vs Michaels at Wrestlemania. Mad Dog Mortimer vs ???? Comments: If OWC ever needed a celebrity for a major show, it's Neil Young in this one. Asami Okubo vs Emiko Miyoshi Comments: They're both young and unknown, but my money's on Miyoshi because she looks cute, while Okubo looks brutish. Silas being Silas, he's probably using his penis to book this one, so I'm hoping for a hilarious failed flirt attempt narrative.
  23. Thanks. NGW is a company I've built from the ground up, so 17 years of in-game progress and diary writing mean I'm pretty comfortable with the roster, booking, stories I want to tell etc.
  24. I tried that the other night but the game wouldn't let me react to the same worker twice. As always, great stuff from this diary!

The man who NGW fans might remember as "The Lone Wolf" Okami from a couple of years ago talks about that experience, taking some time off to refocus and honing his skills in EWA, where he also won the Union titles alongside Alberto Montero, before ending with a message to the fans that next week, they'll see all that in action. Double Dutch vs The Foreign Legion In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Double Dutch defeated The Foreign Legion in 10:07 when Frank Ven Heer defeated Pierre DuPont by pinfall with an Orange Wave. Instead of waiting for the powers that be to find one for him, he's out to find one himself and he's chosen the greatest contender he could think of: Champagne Lover! Show Rating:
