  1. "Senor Montero? Do you have a moment please?" The legendary Luis Montero nodded, so I walked in. At almost 60 years of age with more than four decades in the business, I bet he knew exactly why I was there. And me, a no-name rookie whose only claim to fame so far was his family connection to El Bandido, I knew my place in this discussion. But I also knew my place as booker of EMLL. "Senor Montero, we both know what this is all about so I'll get straight to it" I began, with as much bravado and confidence as I could muster while being stared down. "I was a little surprised when El Critico announced the creation of Mexican Hardcore Wrestling, but I guess it makes sence since we left CILL behind and OLLIE was worried enough to start the hostilities. I was also a little surprised when he signed Scorpion. I mean, Ángel and Phantom made sense, I've put the title belts on them after all, but Scorpion came a bit out of left field. What I didn't expect was your actions." Montero was silent, but his eyes were essentially staring daggers at me. "Well, that just goes to show that you have no idea how this business works" he began. Somehow, I felt that this was only the first of several insults he'd be throwing my way. "Five years ago, when your uncle started EMLL, he begged me to come help him out. To get this company off the ground. So I came to help him out. I booked the venues, I led the locker room, I put matches together, I did everything so he could only worry about the rest of his wrestling career. And I was so loyal to him, I didn't even suggest bringing in either of my sons so they wouldn't outshine him." I'll admit, I was a little shocked. I'd thought maybe he wanted to make more money after his recent paycut, maybe he was mad at me from taking the book out of his hands, but clearly this ran much deeper. "And what did I get for my loyalty?" he continued. "Nothing but insult after insult. He took the book from me and gave it to some kid that's green as hell. Not to mention how he brought in his own relative to push, when my boys were still trying to get noticed in OLLIE. Gino got the call from SOTBPW, but Luis Jr didn't. I gave you a year to run things while I tried to talk some sense into your uncle, especially after you struck that TV deal with Mexico Verde. So yes, now that the offer came up, I took the chance to book for MHW. I signed Luis Jr there so I can turn him into a star. I got Ángel and Phantom and Scorpion and a bunch of free agents I know you had your eyes on." I had walked into the room trying to not make a scene but still get my point across. Instead, Luis Montero had wiped the floor with me and was still trying to realize what had happened. My eyes were drawn to the big family photo framed behind him. "They say competition drives things forward, young man. May the best man win." I still had nothing to say, I just stood there flabbergasted as I took on shot after shot. "Now get the hell out of my office!"
  2. EMLL Fatalidad 2017 EMLL Fatalidad 2017 Sat W2 February '17, Attendance: 3.324 Parque La Junta, Northern Mexico Shown live on Canal Tres, Ratings: 0.04 (35,560 viewers) Ángel De México comes out to give an interview. Just a few words in, the deadly duo of Death's Head and Guerrero Muerto come out and enter the ring. After some back-and-forth insults, they attack, laying Ángel out two-on-one. The beatdown continues, then all of a sudden out comes... El Héroe Mexicano! The former SOTBPW star and famous protege of none other than Champagne Lover himself hits the ring and clears house, ending the segment as he helps Ángel De México up and the patriotic duo stand tall as the live crowd lose their minds screaming. w Trickster (1-1) vs Zebra Man (0-2) (with Lucia Valencia) A solid opening contest hot off the heels of that opening segment, this match goes back and forth between the two competitors, with each scoring a fall to take it to the tie-breaker. Lucia Valencia does her best to fire up the crowd and it seems that fan support is just enough to tip the scales in favor of her client as Zebra Man takes round three, finishing things off with the Zebra Crush. Winner: Zebra Man Payaso Jr (0-2) vs Soda de la Uva Jr (1-1) Revisiting their match from over a year ago, Payaso and Soda de la Uva pull off the sequel to that Street Fighter II bonus stage thing, with each trying to uppercut-smash more barrels than the other in-between hitting each other with lucha moves. Neither great nor terrible as far as comedy bouts go, this one ends up with Payaso Jr winning and on we go to the next bout. Winner: Payaso Jr Delirium (1-1) vs Scorpion (1-1) Following his win over Zebra Man last month, Delirium takes his crazy antics to a match against a much harder opponent in Scorpion, who is coming off a strek-ending loss to Guerrero Muerto. Although Scorpion wins this one 2-0, Delirium is entertaining as always and on top of hitting his signature spots, he also seems to have improved his stamina a little bit, which can only be good for him going forward. Winner: Scorpion w Death's Head (1-1) vs Máscara Delfín (0-2) (with Carolina) Death's Head comes into this match sporting the effects of his opening encounter with Ángel De México and El Héroe Mexicano; although he does start the match with a head full of steam and gets the first fall courtesy of his power, the damage sustained does catch up with him and Máscara Delfín is able to turn things around, winning both the second round and round three. Winner: Máscara Delfín As DeCipher is making his way to the ring for his match next, he is attacked from behind by an out-of-control Demon King, cementing his rudo turn from the back in December's show. Title match for the Campeónato de Histórico EMLL Blue Phantom (1-1) © vs DeCipher (2-0) Much like the previous match, this one revolves around one competitor being hurt due to a pre-match brawl. However, DeCipher is a veteran and he does his best to adapt and use his technical prowess to ground the defending champion. Of course, that's easier said than done when that champion is the young, athletic Blue Phantom and in what turns out to be a fast paced, show stealing match, Phantom is able to impose his own pace to the match and come out victorious over the challenger. Winner: Blue Phantom Blue Phantom makes defence number 1 of his Campeónato de Histórico EMLL title Once again the former Campeón de Histórico EMLL, El Mítico Jr, has some strong words to say as he repeats his claim for a title rematch against Blue Phantom. La Estrella (0-2) vs Snake King (1-1) Estrella's first match as a tecnico after his turn following a match against El Bandido, this one is a tough test against the slithering Snake King. Following the classic recipe of high flying tecnico versus a rudo trying to keep things slow and grounded, the match is exciting enough to follow up the spectacular semi main title match and entertain the live crowd thanks to the skills and popularity of the two luchadors involved. Despite Snake King's best efforts though, Estrella is just too fired up to be stopped, especially after a series of losses that mean his career with EMLL is on the line in this match, and after a huge Hollywood Press, the Hollywood Luchador nails down his first win as a tecnico. Winner: La Estrella Show Rating:
  3. Proving Ground, Tuesday Week 3 of November 2013 NGW Proving Ground (Weekly TV show) Held on Wednesday, Week 3 of November 2013 Venue: Los Gaudi Arena, Spain, Europe Attendance: 3.084, Ratings: 0.69 (522.370 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 "The Rock and Roller" Sebastian Koller is flanked by Viper McKenna, who gets on the mic to address the Wade Orson situation. McKenna repeats the Outcasts' point of view and says that after Bantom and Mallory hopefully taught Orson a lesson last week, now they're going to be his biggest allies, because the Outcasts need proof of his allegiance; to do so, he will have to team up with them and take the NGW Openweight titles from Dovydas Vidmar and the Ivanoff brothers! "The Steppe Cowgirl" Anna Twirl vs "The Black Widow" Zofia Jankovic In a terrible match, Zofia Jankovic defeated Anna Twirl in 11:06 by pinfall with a K.O. Head Kick. Geena the Warrior Princess cuts a promo next, saying she's all too happy to face J-Ro for the NGW Women's title, but first she must take care of business and reclaim her necklace from the dastardly Darkness Cat. Next week, she'll do just that and she has a way to make sure that Cat won't fool her again. John Silver vs Leon Harrison In a decent match, John Silver defeated Leon Harrison in 14:14 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. Roy Edison vs Shiro Akuma In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Shiro Akuma defeated Roy Edison in 11:27 by pinfall with an Akuma Cradle. Show Rating:
  4. Back to the Future, Monday Week 3 of November 2013 NGW Back to the Future (Weekly TV show) Held on Monday, Week 3 of November 2013 Venue: Los Gaudi Arena, Spain, Europe Attendance: 2.920, Ratings: 0.70 (531.530 viewers), Shown on Continental Sports X1 With Robert Howard by his side, Captain Hero II opens the show by cutting a promo on how he beat Dovydas Vidmar last week but he's still out for Marat Khoklov, even more now that he knows about Khoklov taking out Howard. Kholov comes out with Vidmar by his side, the latter getting on the mic to say they're at one point each after last week so tonight, it'll be the two of them against the two League of Heroes members in the main event! Alberto Montero vs Champagne Lover In a decent match, Champagne Lover defeated Alberto Montero in 10:29 by pinfall with a Lover Stunner. Edward Cornell had an interview hyping his upcoming NGW Heavyweight title match with Christopher Lister at Reach for the Sky. ww Igor Ivanoff (with Ivan Ivanoff) vs Hercules Johansson (with Signe Lythjohan & Bam Bam Johansson) In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Hercules Johansson defeated Igor Ivanoff in 12:16 by submission with a Hercules Lift. Joanne Rodriguez cut a short promo next, inviting Geena The Warrior Princess to meet her at Reach for the Sky sinice she's not on the NGW roster. The Gentleman and the Pitbull vs Marat Khoklov & Dovydas Vidmar In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Marat Khoklov and Dovydas Vidmar defeated The Gentleman and the Pitbull in 13:38 when Dovydas Vidmar defeated Robert Howard by pinfall with a handful of tights. 5. Whoever booked that AEW Full Gear main event is probably a fan of this diary. Especially the spots involving broken glass were straight out of that Tombstone-Comedian Taipei Deathmatch.

  7. But what is your input for the podcast? You guessed the owner and user character right!
  8. Always felt like Texas Hangman was super Undertaker-esque, but having him also be a scumbag owner's lapdog is just the cherry on top. I can already imagine OWC holding shows in Saudi Arabia next or something.
  9. My thoughts exactly. Kinda like Dude Love meets Macho Man. P.S. As a fan of ROF, thanks a million for those belt re-renders
  10. Jerry: So apparently any publicity is good publicity and we weren't the only ones offended by certain characters in Chi-Town Urban Combat's show last month, some people were willing to pay hard cash in order to voice their opinions in person last night when CTUC held their Bad Obsession show. Calvin: Controversy creates cash, as the saying goes, Jerry. Apparently it did create some cash for CTUC too, they've set out to surpass both New Horror and Left Coast when it comes to pushing boundaries and offending people. Jerry: Should come as no surprise given the man in power, which by the way we set up as a question for our listeners, but more on that later. Calvin: So the show begins with Dr. Funkenstein and Tyrell Starr, who were opponents last month and Funkenstein's trying to convinve Starr they should join up against Mickey Malice, even though they're actually booked to wrestle together as a tag team in the main event... Jerry: Yeah Malice attacked Starr after that match which probably led to them all being in a tag match, but obviously Dr. Funkenstein never got the memo... Calvin: Shades of R-Truth there, but with disco instead of rapping. By the way, Funkenstein was freestyling all over the place and fans loved it, which is exactly what a character like that should be doing by the way. More talking, less wrestling. Jerry: They are interrupted by a pair we haven't seen in a while, Frankie Petruzzi and Summer Whitley, uhm, excuse me... Mariah Milan. That's her CTUC name. Calvin: I know, Jerry, I know. So anyway, Summer/Mariah gets on the mic and she says that, shock of shocks, there will indeed be a tag team match tonight! And because it seems Mikey Malice hasn't got a lot of friends in the back, he made a "special arrangement" with them in order to secure Petruzzi's services as a teammate for that match. Which was basic, but it set the stage, I guess. Jerry: It would work best in a TV show probably, where you don't have a card announced. Given the circumstances it was pretty silly, but then again, CTUC aren't far from silly at all times... Calvin: Speaking of which, next was the start of the show's arguably longest and silliest angle... so the tag team champions hit the ring with Tiffany Poe and cut a promo on last week's attack by Vanity and EL CHUPACABRA! Jerry: Which would probably set up a match for the titles, if those two hadn't been all over each other's toes when they tried it out in a dark match, so I'm watching this and wondering are they still gonna do it? Are they gonna can the whole thing? Calvin: Back to silly now, the skeletony duo interrupts and I gotta give pros to Tiffany Poe here, she sold this like she'd seen Death itself! Jerry: I mean, you always know things are gonna get a little silly when these guys are around, so she really ran with it and oversold their presence. Good call. Calvin: And then comes the save, Skullmageddon says he and himself from this dimension will take care of those two but afterwards will return for the tag team titles! Jerry: I gotta say, Skullsy looked a little beefier than last month, so that kiiiiiinda made the whole thing feel a bit more credible? Calvin: And then we get a match at last! But just so we don't forget this is a CTUC show we're watching, it's Carlotta the Exotico versus Vanity a.k.a. Ugly Bob and of course they play this up for laughs. Jerry: Which is kind of a shame, because they seemed to not only have some actual wrestling skill, they also seem to have some pretty good chemistry between the ropes. And Carlotta's put on some pretty exotic muscle too, taking that feminine drag schtick straight into hard transgender territory. Calvin: I'm not sure a comedy bout was what the show needed at that point, but again they had this long ongoing comedy angle across most of the show and this match was part of it so they stuck to the same tone I guess. Jerry: Right, so Ugl... I mean, Vanity won clean with the Ugly Bomb... which of course has also been renamed into the Vanity Bomb, nothing to write home about in this star-and-a-half match and then... Calvin: Skullmageddon attacks! Jerry: Skullmageddon attacks, making good on his words earlier and he beat down Vanity to a pulp! Calvin: Poor Vanity, the creative is not kind to his character, are they? Jerry: When was any creative kind on the Ugly Bob character? Calvin: And then of course because God forbid we get to see some wrestling, even the comedy nonesense that was on display earlier, we get another promo, this time from the Chi-Church Cult, basically requesting a tag match against Killboy Powerhead because of the mess they made last month in that mockery of a casket match. Jerry: You know, at the time I wondered why the Bonechillers weren't part of this but I guess it's because they won that casket match? And they were busy doing other stuff this month too, obviously. Calvin: Speaking of which, we got Skullsy the Skatertron next, in a match against none other than EL CHUPACABRA! Jerry: A Chi-Town Deathmatch, no less! Calvin: So of course everyone watching's like "but why?" but apparently Skullsy's out to murder the beast, only for the beast to murder him instead of course... Jerry: Kudos to Skullsy though, him being bulked up made this match feel less of a squash and more like an actual contest. Plus he got whacked across the face with his own skateboard. Textbook underdog beating. Calvin: It was the Silencio de los Cabras that put him down for the ten count, another CTUC classic barely failing to hit that two-star mark but it told the story it was supposed to: Skullmageddon played it smart and took out Vanity with a post match attack, while the naive Skullsy booked himself in a match only to get destroyed. Jerry: Not too bad overall, but probably dragged too long in execution. Made the joke too complicated for no reason. Calvin: With that done, we go to another talk segment, this time it's Pride & Envy being initerviewed by Michelle Lawless, who left her seat at the announcers' table for this... Jerry: Not that she was doing such an amazing job there anyway to begin with... Calvin: Real basic hype promo there, vengeance for last month, we're gonna beat you, whatever, not a lot of fans were responding to the words as much as the looks, but I guess that was as good a lead as any for... Jerry: Jiggle jiggle, Calvin! Calvin: Oh man... once again, the best match on the card, a three star bout technically given its context, was a bra & panties match between these four characters and if that doesn't tell you what CTUC is all about, I don't know what will. Jerry: We're all terrible human beings for being a part of this in any way and apparently that character has really sparked up fans' creativity with chants of "Feminatrix" and "AbomiNZ" Calvin: What is the world coming to... so let's run through this match real quick, Envy apparently went for looks over practicality and that green dress was mighty fine, but three seconds into the match and a strong pull from Annabelle, it all came off in one piece to essentially eliminate her from the match. Jerry: I think that single spot, that pull-and-reveal stuff, that got the biggest pop of the night. Calvin: So Envy's immediately eliminated, Annabelle sees flesh and goes bezerk, she chases off a half-naked Envy out of the ring and we get a one on one situation between Abominatrix and Pride... Jerry: Lots of gimmickry and character showcasing, heels really wasting their numbers advantage by that point. Calvin: But it was also a chance for Pride to do some actual wrestling, which is a part of why the match ended up being entertaining despite the overall jiggling left and right. It was a smart thing to have her put Abominatrix in submission holds and slowly unzip the back of her gimp suit. Jerry: It also set up a sick hardcore spot for that spinebuster... drove her naked back flesh first onto some thumbtacks. Calvin: Which I guess was the cue to drag Annabelle The Canni-belle back into the match. Smell of blood and all... Jerry: And her ring outfit is pretty revealing to begin with... Calvin: Yeah she's got that caveman prehistoric woman deal going on to make her look more savage or something... which means her wardrobe looks like it probably consists of clothes stolen off the set of a Flintstones porn parody. Jerry: Meaning Pride had an easy time finishing her off.... No pun intended. w Calvin: Good luck following that up and spoiler alert, the main event didn't... another two-star CTUC classic, which probably would have been better if it wasn't coming off after such a semi main event. Or, you know, if the people involved could actually pull off the stuntshow they tried to execute without looking so sloppy. Jerry: I almost injured my eyes watching that match, I'm surprised they didn't injure each other in it and it went on for what, ten minutes? Calvin: Ten minutes and eighteen seconds, to be exact. It's a shame Tyrell Starr didn't win it because he was an absolute star, no pun intended. Probably the only man in that ring who held his stuff together from bell to bell. Jerry: Dr. Funkenstein was probably the worst, but I guess you'd not expect much from a man under such a gimmick in the first place. At least him taking the fall felt right the best call and he did so by going through a table too. Calvin: Yeah Mariah Milan flashed him for a pop that probably equalled that of Envy getting stripped, he fell off the top rope though the table... Jerry: ...on his own... Calvin: Yeah that was a funny spot, and then Petruzzi covered him for the pin. Which kinda made the whole story of Mikey Malice recruting him have some meaning. Jerry: Yeah when the match was announced, he was the odd man and I could see him taking the pin, but now he scored the pin and the show ended with him talking to Mikey Malice, presumably about their "special arrangement"... Calvin: And in true CTUC fashion, that "special arrangement" was left intentionally vague so it might be suggesting some intimacy involving Mariah Milan... Jerry: I would not be surprised if Malice pulled that off, he's been talking about opening his own promotion for a while to, quote, "show those @#%)wads how it's done" and if Whitley wasn't dating PWU's Carson Cage, I'm sure this angle would go down a much more risque path... Calvin: Speaking of which, that's a perfect segway from wrapping up this two star show into our weekly competition. We asked you fans to guess who's behind Chi-Town Urban Combat and it was a listener by the alias of alpha2117 who got it right, it's Mikey Malice both running and booking this mess! Jerry: Congratulations alpha2117, send us your question, comments or whatever for use in our next podcast when we return to talk about CTUC's next show... Calvin: Hiiiiiighwaaaaay toooo the Danger Zone!

With written contracts available, spamming touring shows should be a lot more profitable than when using PPA contracts. 18. Thank you both. 2021 is pretty deep into the game to be, especially when booking and writing two shows a month. I'm currently fighting to hit Cult size and from there, hopefully start a developmental fed to bridge the gap between dojo and main roster.

No strangers to each other, the two men have a crazy hardcore match for almost fifteen minutes, with the challenger trying to use his speed to avoid the bulky champion, attacking with a mix of weapon shots, high risk dives or several times a combination of both, such as when he hits Mulhoney with a suicide dive while holding a chair. 21. Thank you willr0ck and thank you all who read and commented. Also a big thank you to the artists of the re-render community, whose work I used in the portraits and to all the people who nominated and voted this one in the Diary of the Month awards, apparently it won not only the July 2018 CVerse DotM but also this September's award for the Funakoshi vs Giant Brody match in the final Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix. Didn't think much of the actual match per se, especially given Brody's performance limitations, but I'm pretty proud of the setup of this final GP and the story told with each round of matches.
