  1. As soon as I read that the Cornells haven't won gold, I had a gut feeling they were going to win this. Great couple of shows, really curious to see how the brand split will play out.

  4. Episode Number Eight Taped on Wed W4 Feb 2016 at The GBG Studios in Nashville, Tennessee in front of 720 people Ratings: 0.02 (17.200 viewers) Michaels: “Hello everyone and welcome to another action packed hour of television. I’m Peter Michaels and as always I’m joined in the broadcast booth by legendary manager Shane Sneer.” Sneer: “It’s a pleasure to be back in the GBG Studios right here in Nashville, Tennessee -- the home of country music and Southern Championship Class Wrestling. This is the last show before Hotlanta Hustle and it will have a big impact on the momentum going into our second big show. Last week, The Flex Express let the world know that they don’t believe they can be matched here in SCCW. Who will step up to the challenge? Will we find out tonight?” Michaels: “Who knows, Shane? I know that Brady Prince is in action tonight against Melvin Otto, The Silencer and Blackjack Robbins are set to wrestle in advance of their tag team match at Hotlanta Hustle and in our main event, “Hacksaw” Findlay O’Farraday is in action against the grappler from Robbinsdale, Minnesota -- Seth Whitehead.” Sneer: “I’d hate to be Whitehead tonight. Findlay will be in the three way dance for the Southern Heavyweight Championship at Hotlanta Hustle and I don’t want to know what he’ll do to Seth Whitehead tonight to prove a point.” Michaels: “It should be interesting to say the least. And wait a minute. That’s Roger Monteiro and Austin Smooth out here. What do they have on their minds?” Michaels: “We need some medical attention out here. Folks, while we get the National Guard looked at we will take a quick break. When we come back, we will hear from Riley McManus and Regular Joe.” Michaels: “What a show we had here tonight. Hotlanta Hussle will be a great show and we hope to see all of you there. For Shane Sneer and everyone here at SCCW, I’m Peter Michaels saying good night.” Show Rating Michaels: “Well I guess we have our answer, Shane. Roger Monteiro and Austin Smooth have accepted the challenge of the Flex Express!” Sneer: “Well you better go ahead and get the undertaker ready ‘cause I don’t know how those boys think they’re going to stand up to the Flex Express. No disrespect to either, I know they have a lot of heart, but c’mon. The Flex Express look like Michaelangelo himself carved them out of marble.” Michaels: “That’s one way to put it, but up next we have our first scheduled contest of the evening as ‘The Hunter’ Brady Prince looks to get his singles career back on track as he takes on the Hippie Love Machine himself, Melvin Otto.” Singles Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit “The Hunter” Brady Prince vs Melvin Otto Not seen since his loss to the debuting Stan Manna, Brady Prince returned to action in the opening match for the next chapter in his transition from a tag team specialist into a singles wrestler. His opponent was Melvin Otto and though it might not show from his looks, the young hippy is a pretty energetic, scrappy brawler. He’s also a dirty fighter and wasn’t shy to take a shortcut such as an eye poke or rake of the face if it meant getting out of a tight spot, which might explain how he was able to survive over seven minutes in the ring with the veteran. That was the story told in this match, with Otto being the disruptive heel while Prince sought to apply his Maryland Crossface finisher and it was told beautifully thanks to the sublime way their two characters seemed to mesh but once Prince finally made it, Otto slapped the mat like a madman and the match was immediately over. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Brady Prince defeated Melvin Otto in 7:31 by submission with a Maryland Crossface. Michaels: “What a statement win for Brady Prince! The Hunter lived up to his name by treating Melvin Otto just like he was prey.” Sneer: “There is a reason Brady Prince is a former Southern Heavyweight Champion, Peter and he showed it right there!” Michaels: “Wait a minute. That’s Rick Sanders!” Sneer: “Well slap me naked and hide my clothes -- I think we’ve got ourselves a big fight brewing between those two veterans.” Michaels: “What did you just say?” Sneer: “You heard me.” Michaels: “Unfortunately, I did. Well folks, after this commercial break, The Silencer and Blackjack Robbins will go one on one with each man looking to gain the psychological edge before the Southern Tag Team Title match at Hotlanta Hussle.” Singles Match Fifteen Minute Time Limit The Silencer vs Blackjack Robbins (with Ernie Turner) The two big hosses of their respective teams were meeting here. Last week, Desert Storm lost to Whisky Jack after interference from Ernie Turner and The Silencer definitely had to have his head on a swivel as Turner made sure his presence at ringside was felt. Robbins has clearly lost a step from his heyday, but The Silencer sold every shot from Robbins like he was getting blasted by a train which kept the crowd into it. The Silencer reversed what looked like a DDT attempt and fired off several big right hands before hitting a Drop Zone and getting the victory heading into their match at Hotlanta Hustle. In a decent match, The Silencer defeated Blackjack Robbins in 10:26 by pinfall with a Drop Zone. Michaels: “An impressive win for the former member of the US Special Forces. The Silencer definitely has a bright future, both as a singles and in his tag team with Desert Storm.” Sneer: “You’re right about that, but it looks like Blackjack isn’t done.”
  5. Appreciate it and thank you again for the mod. I do remember you "challenging" me to do a RockVerse diary (or was it an AWO one specifically?) so it's good to hear I'm doing it justice. Agreed. I was inspired by the Oddworld and WS_X to start this, having so much fun with it now. Glad to see silly wrestling making a comeback on the diaries, with Voeltzwagon's EXTREME FORCE WRESTLING being the latest addition. Go look that up and show it some love Thanks. Bringing in the chicken dude to replace EL CHUPACABRA! felt like a great opportunity and I had to hold myself from revealing the signing/character before the show itself. Also, the broadcasting move to IWC was a game changer, my media income skyrocketed from 450 to like 5k per show, so if I can get good show grades to stick with them, I should be finally turning in a profit, which can only mean this diary will continue and more people can come in!
  6. The Dublin Destroyer vs Louie Peyton Whoever wins, we all lose. Peyton's still young and can take the loss, if 21CW haven't re-signed him yet. TDD is old, but fits Force's big guy ideal, so going with him for this. Prince Neville and Squire Foppenbottom vs Pigeon Mask and Notorious F.R.E.A.K Another bound-to-be-terrible match. Guessing the squire takes the fall here. Also because I like Freak Colin Picallo vs Bigger Dan Ewe Squash THE FORCE vs Armand Hardwicke SQUASH AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
  7. Jerry: Boy oh boy, talk about a gamechanger... CTUC did it again, Calvin, I know we love making fun of their wrestlecrap but I was so pumped after Capital Challenge! Calvin: I guess it's the equivalent of when they added women to their roster, but let's take this and some interesting booking choices one by one. Jerry: Well they made it pretty obvious from the start of the show and I didn't know if I should react excited or roll my eyes and facepalm. Anyway, the opening was a pretty standard thing, Tyrell Starr once again asking for a title shot, Mikey Malice saying he beat him as well as every man on the roster... Calvin: A rare moment of self-awareness from owner, booker and permachampion Mikey Malice, I should add... Jerry: Enter Lust and a quote straight outta Lord of the Rings as she goes "I'm no man..." Calvin: Which I'm guessing means Lust just challenged Malice for the CTUC Nation of Violence title? w Jerry: It must be so, because the opening match was Lust and Wrath versus Killboy Powerhead! Calvin: Which was every bit as messy, chaotic and overbooked as it sounds. Jerry: Ye olde CTUC two star matche, but I stil have a question after this match. Are they just trying to pass Lust as male or "also male" or gender fluid whatever, oooor are they going all out to incorporate intergender matches? Calvin: Well New Horror already did the hardcore intergender matches first, but it would make sense given their roster. I mean, how much longer can they hold down so many women with eye candy matches? They're better than most male wrestlers in that locker room. Case in point, the exact follow-up match, Annabelle versus Avarice Jerry: Yeah that was all the way up to three stars, even if Strip the Flesh is basically a CTUC rebranding of ye olde bra and panties match. Slowly turning into a trademark stipulation for Annabelle, maybe Abominatrix too. Calvin: I sure hope so. I'd hate to see the unique "signature match" they'd be giving Abominatrix. Jerry: Anyway, this was little more than a catfight. Featuring two very good looking ladies, but a catfight nonetheless. I was really hoping they'd bother with a bit of psychology, like having Annabelle continue "stripping" her opponent after the match was over or something. Calvin: A missed opportunity indeed. Maybe you should apply to be CTUC's booker, Jerry. Jerry: And from barenaked ladies to a trio gimped to the gills as the Devil's Playthings cut a pretty decent promo to hype up the main event. Bit of Freebird Rules in this story, with the group teasing the actual two who would compete while the third member would be on their corner. And off we went to the night's spectacle... w Calvin: I am legitimately surprised no one got injured in that Ladder match. Especially after last month's botchamania, I'm surprised CTUC was willing to roll the dice with such a match and risk losing more workers. Jerry: So fans, remember last month when the Bonechillers stole the tag titles? Well, we never got an explanation why this had to be a Ladder match, but the belts were hooked in a cheap looking bone hook... Calvin: By which he means a regular hook inside a cheap white plastic casing... Jerry: ..so I'm assuming it was a case of "we won't give them back, but race you for 'em" or something. No context given and before you say so Calvin, yes I do also wonder why I'm trying to make sense of CTUC. Calvin: That's an interesting question, because this two star of a spotfest looked like it held zero surprises at all, until it pulled the rug underneath our feet. Jerry: That's one way of putting it, but I had the same feeling watching this. Gluttony was being your typical powerhouse pacific islander, Sloth was... well, Sloth, Tiffany Poe did her thing at ringside, Skullmageddon scolded Skullsy... Calvin: By the way, Skullsy seemed to be really over with the crowd. The whole idea behind him and Skullmageddon apparently has caught on with the fans. Jerry: Which might explain why they had Skullsy grind his skate across the top rope, hop off Gluttony's back and onto the top of the ladder to grab the belts. That's right folks, your winners and new CTUC Deadly Duo champions, the Bonechillers! Calvin: That makes Skullsy actually successful, so I'm curious to see how that impacts him and Skullmageddon going forward. Their whole gimmick is Skullsy being incompetent. Jerry: Speaking of gimmicks... Calvin: Oh, we're down to that segment... Jerry: Yes! So once more, this one looked like a perfectly expected Chi Church Cult promo... Calvin: Think I'm seeing a pattern here with all the swerves in this show... Jerry: With the Cult singing their praises and bragging about how they "exorcised" the evil... Both: EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: But just when you thought CTUC couldn't get any worse... Jerry: MADRE DE DIOS! EL POLLO DIABLO! Calvin: Like... what the hell IS that thing?!?! Jerry: I know he came out of nowhere, beat the Cult including Scarlett Church and wore a mask resembling some kind or poultry. Or should I say... Calvin: Don't you dare... Jerry: LIKE A RABID ROOSTER? Calvin: So this is what brain damage feels like... Jerry: For the record, we have no idea who this chicken fellow is, Rabid Rooster is solely a pun of my creation but if anyone there at CTUC is listening, you're free to use it Calvin: Can we please move on to the main event? w Jerry: Well, to your point earlier, Calvin, they did finally give the women a proper wrestling match and it headlined the show too. Was it any better than the usual two star CTUC match? No. Calvin: Plus Envy looked like she injured herself again. Jerry: Well I guess the takeaway here is that Lilith distracted Pride, who was already kinda working a handicap match after Envy damaged herself... Calvin: Suits her character, whether by accident or design Jerry: And the Playthings got the pin. Which is probably leading to a feud for the Baddest Bitch title. Or, even better, a feud between the Sins and the Playthings! Calvin: You know what I always say, Jerry;fantasy booking only leads to disappointment eventually. Jerry: Yet in a weird, twisted way, I am so interested to see where CTUC goes next with all this mess...
  8. The banner, company logo and Last Rebels logo are all made by willr0ck, as well as most of the title belts and some portraits used. If you haven't visited his thread yet, you should!
  9. This was my prediction too when Historian told me he'd be bringing this back. Let us not fool ourselves, it's been his best and most successful diary and although we do have a couple of joint projects going, after TIER-1 and FCW stopped, he sorely lacked a solo diary he could play at his own pace and write using his own unique style. The Climb was about starting from scratch and making it all the way to National, really excited to follow its new foray into the big leagues!
  10. As a general rule, you do not need permission but it would be nice if you added a line in the first post of the thread to mention which one you're using and thank whoever made it.

Vittorio Pescatelli (CR#8, 7-2, 1-2 RSC) via Knock Out (Punch) - Round 2, 4:46 [Great] Women's Bantamweight: Carmen Routhwaite (WR#22, CR#8, 8-1, 1-1 RSC) def. Tiiu Kass (WR#19, CR#6, 11-1, 1-1 RSC) via TKO (Strikes) - Round 3, 2:52 [Fantastic] Women's Flyweight: Daljit Samir (WR#10, CR#6, 11-2, 1-2 RSC) def. Shannon Palmer (P4P#13, WR#5, CR#3, 11-2, 2-0 RSC) via TKO (Strikes) - Round 2, 1:04 [Good] Featherweight: Foggy Lee (CR#3, 13-3, 1-0 RSC) def. Benoit LeMarche (CR#6, 5-0, 1-0 RSC) via TKO (Strikes) - Round 1, 1:54 [Good] Middleweight: Shaun Dico (CR#5, 10-1, 3-1 RC) def. Edu Gattai (CR#7, 12-1, 1-0 RSC) via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) - Round 1, 4:52 [Great] Welterweight: Hamilton Fonseca Jr (CR#8, 10-3, 1-0 RSC) def. Rich Robinson (CR#7, 12-0, 1-0 RSC) via Split Decision - 28:29, 29:28, 29:28 [Average] RSC Lightweight Championship: Georges Nouri (WR#7, CR#1, 16-3, 1-0 RSC) def. Fumiyaki Hayashi (WR#25, CR#2, 20-10, 0-1 RSC) via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) - Round 2, 4:32 [Good] - Red Star Combat's first ever "II" event headlined by a rematch, this was questioned given the decisive way the original ended, but somehow it ended being up even more exciting. Nouri opened the bout with a takedown attempt looking for a suplex, which Hayashi blocked by grabbing the cage and earning himself a referee warning. Nouri wouldn't be denied though and completed the suplex, failing to get a submission for the rest of round one. The second round began with another suplex attempt blocked by a cage grab and while it caused audible disapproval from the fans, it was never seen by the referee. Still, Nouri once again hit the suplex and this time it paid off, as after a couple of submission attempts, he was able to get to the RNC and retain his title. - Hamilton Fonseca Jr. proved he's tough enough to represent the St. Petersburg Elite when he survived Rich Robinson's offence and convinced the judges to give him the win. He even nearly won the bout outright in the first round when he caught his opponent with a lucky kick to the head, but Robinson was able to recover and fight back, taking it to the scorecards where he lost by a fracture. - Third time's the charm for Shaun Dico, who was quick to take down his opponent right off the bat but struggled to apply the RNC for the tap out. Gattai fended off two attempts, but couldn't avoid the third, leading to a quick submission in favor of the former RSC Middleweight champion. - A heavy, heavy favourite, Foggy Lee made short work of his opponent tonight, charging in to drive him against the cage, taking him down and dropping the bombs for the quick TKO. Will he be fighting for the RSC Featherweight Championship next, a Lee vs Tavares main event is certainly something many fans would like to see headline a show. - Big night for Indian MMA fans as both competitors from their country scored decisive wins. Daljit Samir finally broke her losing streak and reminded something of her old self when she defeated a former #2 in the rankings via TKO. Samir seemed to have an excellent gameplan going into this fight, never once allowing Palmer to shoot for a takedown and eventually managing to knock her down for the finish. - Spectacular action in the Women's Bantamweight division as former title contender Tiiu "The Tigress" Kass was off to a strong start but couldn't finish her opponent, taking a big kick to the head for it in the second round. Routhwaite was unable to knock out her opponent, nor did she manage to get the TKO or Submission, but kept on coming and finally hit another big head kick right before the fight would be off to the judges, finishing it clean with a TKO win. - A valiant fight for Vittorio Pescatelli in the Heavyweight division, but Hussain's punch is just to much to handle and he said so himself in the post-match interview. Pescatelli took several big left hooks in the opening round and while he stood his ground, eventually the damage piled up and the last one knocked him out near the end of the second round. - What a big, much needed win for Mahak Kirakosyan in the pre-show over former RSC Light Heavyweight champion Nestor Morozov! The Armenian boxer finally got his first win with RSC after three straight losses over a formidable opponent and to make matters even grander, Morozov announced his retirement from the cage following the loss! Bonus Fight of the Night: Routhwaite vs Kass KO of the Night: Hussain vs Pescatelli Submission of the Night: Dico vs Gattai Post-Fight Fumiaki Hayashi: "Well that sucked... We should do a rematch before either of us retires, beating Nouri is the last thing I have left to do in my career." Hamilton Fonseca Jr: "I'm interested in testing myself against Dominykas Jankovic. It's a hard challenge, but he's a former champion and I think it's going to be a good fight." Foggy Lee: "Big shout-out to my crew at Montreal Fight Sciences! Yeah I think I'm ready to fight Tavares for the title next time I'm in this cage, you guys wanna see that?!" Daljit Samir: "I just beat a near-title contender and now I'm beating a proper title contender next. Helena Broderick, you better get prepared next because I'm coming to kick your ass into retirement!"
  12. Cuts and Losses following RSC 23: Hirano vs Humphreys Jack Humphreys (27-12, 1-1 RSC) to GAMMA Mily Golovanov (10-2, 3-0 RSC) to ALPHA-1 RSC Middleweight Champion Sutton Ripley (21-5-1, 3-0 RSC) and Maxime Giresse (9-3, 2-3 RSC) will not be renewing their contracts, making the next fight their last with RSC Cut: Kaoru Nanami (6-6, 0-2 RSC), Libor Pudil (7-5, 1-4 RSC), Natassia Potocnik (4-4, 0-2 RSC), Noppanon On-Mo (5-2, 0-2 RSC) and Viktorija Yakovlev (0-5, 0-5 RSC) Red Star Combat is said to have offered several new contracts to up-and-coming local Russian fighters in an attempt to bolster the ranks of its divisions once more. Laia Leele controversy Spanish fighter Laia Leele found herself in the middle of a flame war on social media after some of her comments were ill-received by the online community. Attempting to play the incident down as an 'ill-received, misunderstood joke' so far, the Spaniard has caused some sour feelings with some of her fans and certainly provided her long time rival Annika Sjolin with plenty of fuel to troll her about. Vicki Summers (WR#10, CR#5, 10-4, 1-0 RSC) via Knock Out (Punch) - Round 2, 3:23 [Good] Featherweight: Ronaldo Freitas (CR#5, 8-0, 1-0 RSC) def. Matas Vidmar (CR#8, 2-0, 2-0 RSC) via TKO (Strikes) - Round 2, 1:41 [Poor] Women's Flyweight: Manami Ken (P4P#24, WR#9, CR#5, 11-2, 1-0 RSC) def. Tatjana Vinick (WR#14, CR#7, 9-0, 2-0 RSC) via Submission (Kimura) - Round 2, 4:29 [Fantastic] Light Heavyweight: Hyun-Shik Lim (WR#17, CR#2, 16-3, 0-0 RSC) def. Adrian Swall (CR#10, 11-3, 2-2 RSC) via Knock Out (Punch) - Round 3, 0:18 [Good] [Adrian Swall broke his jaw during the fight] RSC Welterweight Championship: Fukusaburu Hirano (CR#1, 16-3-1, 1-0 RSC) def. Jack Humphreys (CR#2, 27-11, 1-0 RSC) via Submission (Armbar) - Round 2, 3:30 [Great] - RSC officials were certainly praying for Hirano to retain in the main event, as Humphreys signed an exclusive deal with GAMMA after this fight was originally booked, meaning that if he won, he'd have to immediately vacate the title, on top the same division's Mily Golovanov moving on to ALPHA-1. Hirano kept the American wrestler at bay with strikes in the first round and even when Humphreys managed to grab a leg and drive him against the cage during round two, the takedown didn't phase the defending champion who was able to pull off a literal win from underneath when he ensnared Humphreys' arm in a submission. - A real rollercoaster in the semi main event, with heavy favourite and debuting fighter Hyun-Shik Lim spending most of the opening round on the mat under Adrian Swall, the former champion and underdog off to a hot start that hinted a potential upset. However, Lim added variety to his striking game to hold Swall at bay and apparently broke his jaw with a right cross in the second. From there, Lim had a clear target and as soon as the final round began, he zoned in, connected and knocked out Swall to seal his RSC debut with a victory. - Tatjana Vinick finally tasted defeat at the hands of one of the best female pound for pound fighters in Manami Ken. In an extraordinary bout, Vinick was the aggressor for most of the fight, peppering her opponent with big hits but failing to take her out. Ken almost got the submission before she ran out of time in the first round and failing to find an answer, Vinick found herself down again in the second and tapping out to a kimura. - Peter Windsor almost knocked out Jarno Zijlstra in the first round of the opening fight, but couldn't get the job done and ended winning via the judges. Katarzyna Wojchiechowska almost went down the same path when she nearly knocked out Vicki Summers with a vicious head kick in round one, but rebounded with a killer (pun intended) right cross to knock her out in the next one! Bonus Fight of the Night: Ken vs Vinick KO of the Night: Wojchiechowska vs Summers Submission of the Night: Hirano vs Humphreys Post-Fight Fukusaburu Hirano: "Big thank you to my sponsors and fans, I'm so happy to still hold the RSC Welterweight title!" Jack Humphreys: "Yeah this was my last fight anyway, so I wasn't really motivated to win. Screw this place, I'm off to the big leagues, baybay!" Manami Ken: "Fantastic war, fights like that is why people love MMA!" Ronaldo Freitas: "9-0, baby! No wonder you're ducking me like the coward you are, Foggy!" Natassia Potocnik: "Not the way I wanted to return after I tore my quad a while back. That was disappointing."

Round 2, 1:12 [Good]</p><p> </p><p> - He sure is "The Talented" mr. Ripley, but they might as well call him "Uppercut" Ripley too. Defending RSC Middleweight Champion Sutton Ripley hit one of his trademark uppercuts already in the first round, but challenger Carl Ratcliffe stayed in the fight, avoiding a TKO finish as the two men fought till the clock ran out. Ripley stuck to his gun and this time he got the killshot, nailing Ratcliffe with another uppercut in round two for the knock out!</p><p> </p><p> - Entering the fight as a heavy favourite and enjoying a big reach advantage, Dwight Witherspoon didn't quite impress during the first round against the big wrestler from Hungaria, but all it took was two head kicks to knock down the Hungry Hungarian in the second, with the champion dropping the bombs to get the TKO and retain.</p><p> </p><p> - Not the kind of finish anyone hoped for the fight between Annika Sjolin and Laia Leele after months of them bashing each other on the mic and social media. Leele was aggressive and kept her opponent at bay, with Sjolin barely managing a clinch and some dirty boxing during the first two rounds. Once they got low on fuel though, Sjolin was able to close in and get the takedown, with Leele successfully fending off her attempts for a armbar or kimura. Sjolin was unable to finish her opponent off but at least got the win, even if it came by split decision.</p><p> </p><p> - Speed, power, aggression and persistence brought former RSC Welterweight champion Dominykas Jankovic the win over Poland' Piotr Dabrowski. The Bulgarian shot for an early takedown and prevented the sprawl, looking to get the RNC applied. Dabrowski fended it off, but couldn't do it twice, tapping out to submit before round one was over.</p><p> </p><p> - Fight of the kickboxers in the Light Heavyweight division and plenty of head kick attempts in it, with one almost ending the fight at the expense of the debuting Skala in the first round. Olano finally made it in the second, rocking the Russian bad enough with a head kick to get in the strikes for a TKO, although it made for a controversial finish as referee Richard Joyce took a second to long to jump in and protect Skala from taking more shots than necessary.</p><p> </p><p> - An exciting first round with no clear winner or big moments in the Lightweight division, it was followed by a similar round and just as we thought things would go to the judges, Folke Dalen opened up his opponent with a one-two punch combo for the left head kick! Jankovic stumbled to the cage and Dalen pressed his advantage, nailing another big head kick for the knock out victory!</p><p> </p><p> - What a start to the show, with Maria Ferraz taking to the skies few strikes into the opening round and nailing her opponent with a Superman punch! Yuko Okui: Rage indeed, with every match involving some sort of personal rivalry in it. Hello from me as well, Yuko Okui here providing commentary alongside Hiranuma Makoto as usual. Hiranuma Makoto: Two title matches, two matches involving title holders and their designated challengers, a grudge match all the way from Mexico and much more, it all starts now! Nami Genda, Rika Tsujimura, Akuro Shionoya and Asami Okubo vs Claire Winters, Laura Flame, Estrella Blanca and Velvet Suarez A pretty standard multi-woman tag match to kick off the show, this one featured a bunch of young lions, as well as the veteran Estrella Blanca who led most of the match. Unfortunately, she was unable to also lead her gaijin team to victory despite them being the slightly better wrestlers all around, as Rika Tsujimura got a lucky opening to hit Velvet Suarez with a Running Knee Bomb and get the pin Winners: Nami Genda, Rika Tsujimura, Akuro Shionoya and Asami Okubo Finish: Running Knee Bomb Ginko Kuroda and BATTLE BEASTS vs Team Endorphine and Hoshiko Tagawa A similar case in the following six woman match, with Ginko Kuroda and Jaguar Endo leading the match, which was largely bult around the the ongoing rivalry between BATTLE BEASTS and Team Endorphine. A pretty well rounded match involving strikes, power moves, technical wrestling and some exciting aerial moves, this one ended with BATTLE Takenouchi putting the brakes on Hoshiko Tagawa with a judo style takedown, before she hit a Sit-Out Powerbomb for the one-two-three. Winners: Ginko Kuroda and BATTLE BEASTS Finish: Sit-Out Powerbomb Yu Hashimoto, Chitose Ariwara and Eri Sato vs Joanne Rodriguez, Thea Davis and Ariel Breaks Last of the undercard matches, this one featured many of WINNOW's top tier names and apparently since neither of them was booked to wrestle a high profile singles match, they decided to go out and steal the show anyway. A large part of the story told here was the feud between reigning WINNOW Grand Champion Joanne Rodriguez and Yu Hashimoto, who recently scored a pinfall over her and will most likely be challenging soon for J-Ro's title, however Ariel Breaks also raised her stock with the fans as she proved she can hang out with the best of them, never losing a step in keeping up with her teammates and opponents. Still, Breaks' skill wasn't tempered by experience and as soon as she got some decent offensive momentum going, her excitement had her dive straight into a decapitating Buzzsaw Kick from Sato, who proceeded to score the pin and end the match as fans cheered all six women for their performance. Winners: Yu Hashimoto, Chitose Ariwara and Eri Sato Finish: Buzzsaw Kick Mystery Pink vs Queen Amazon This match had some background to it and for those not following GDR in Mexico, the announcing team did a solid job of breaking things down and filling the blanks by providing context. Mystery Pink has been a long time member of both WINNOW and GDR, while Queen Amazon had a dominant reign as the Mexican promotion's top champion. Once Amazon branched out to Japan as part of a talent trade deal between the two WWA member promotions, Pink managed to beat her for the GDR title, leading Amazon to a spiteful attack during the latest installment of Neon Genesis Evolution. Japanese fans were treated to a sample of GDR-style lucha libre in this match and although no title was on the line, both ladies left everything in the ring, their natural chemistry as opponents making it absolutely apparent why they've been on a long-term feud in Mexico. Once again though, Mystery Pink was able to defeat the big powerouse with a burst of offense in the end, closing the Japanese part of their rivalry with a win. Winner: Mystery Pink Finish: Flying Body Press WINNOW Pure Heart title match Ochiyo Iijima © vs Faith McGee The semi main event and first of the night's two title matches was all about a contrast in styles, as the somber, hard hitting champion Iijima took on the colourful, high flying Faith McGee. Iijima was all about slowing down the pace of the match, keeping her opponent down and attempting to take away her base with sweeping kicks and submission holds that focused on McGee's legs. After garnering sympathy from the fans, McGee showcased her fighting spirit and made a comeback to quicken the pace with her high flying, but Iijima once again was able to interrupt her before she built up enough momentum, scoring the pin not long after to win and retain. Winner: Ochiyo Iijima (Defences:3) Finish: Knock Out Kick WINNOW Rising Champion title match Romi Yamato © vs Rei Chikanatsu If there's one thing you could say about this match, it was unusually long and slow-paced for WINNOW standards. Not that it was bad, instead this change of pace made it feel refreshing and fans were hot for a classic slow burner match that tested each competitor's skill, resilience and warrior spirit. A former WINNOW Pure Heart champion herself, Chikanatsu gave the defending title holder a hard time despite her diminutive stature, using her smaller size to evade and then take down the larger Yamato for a stretch. The champion's approach was more varied, blending strikes with suplexes and submission holds that eventually built up to her beautiful finisher to mark down another successful title defence. Winner: Romi Yamato (Defences:3) Finish: Yamatotal [Cross-arm Bridging German Suplex] Show Rating: </div>
  16. Jerry: In other news, this'll be sad for fans of CTUC and its out-of-left-field cult hero, EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: True, so according to a CTUC official statement, the man-beast who received that nasty injury during their latest show may be out of comission for much longer than expected, as he has been facing complications following his surgical operation to basically put his bone back inside his arm. Jerry: Big blow there and he's not the only one out either, as last time they also lost Dr. Funkenstein and now officially confirmed, Envy. Which seems to have lit a fire under owner, booker and champion Mikey Malice, as he went on to cut more people from the roster. Calvin: Well, it was a pretty big roster anyway for such a promotion, I'm pretty sure they weren't turning in a profit for way too long now. Jerry: So let's talk about the cuts, Vanity, Kurtis Payne, Frankie Petruzzi and Summer Whitley. Calvin: Vanity, he was done creatively. I understand Malice didn't want to lose the title to him, but after that he had nowhere to go. He did his little program with the Sins, he lost pretty much everything, so this was his last chance and he blew it. As a character, I can't really see him bouncing back from that last match, especially since he lost clean. Jerry: Think creative dead-ends were the case for Payne and Petruzzi too, they hadn't done anything significant in a while. And Whitley went down with Petruzzi. Calvin: That's one way to see it, but remember those are all people who came in before the Women's Divsion. Whitley especially, she was there to show some ladyflesh in the whole sausagefest, don't think she was as necessary anymore, even though she's a great talker. Maybe too expensive for what she had to bring to the table nowdays. Jerry: Valid point, Calvin. Petruzzi certainly got lost in the shuffle, think Payne was going to be in a program around the hardcore title with Orcus, but then he was left behind when EL CHUPACABRA! Calvin: Which is even weirder, because now the beast is out for quite some time, so I'd expect Payne to step in. Maybe they have something in mind. A surprise signing, or someone else to take on the mask? Jerry Well the signing they made was a broadcast one, moving from CTV USA Mid West to the online haven of the Independent Wrestling Channel. It's subscription-based so I can't predict if it'll help turn a profit it, but they got more freedom to do crazy things, a better timeslot and better coverage, so it's certainly a step forward. Speaking of which, they've also announce the card for their first show on the IWC Main Event Capital Challenge Tag Team match Pride & Envy vs The Devil's Playthings Semi Main Event CTUC Deadly Duo titles Ladder match Gluttony & Sloth © vs The Bonechillers Strip the Flesh match Annabelle the Canni-belle vs Avarice Opening Tag Team match Killboy Powerhead vs Lust & Wrath
  17. Disclaimer: I think I'll mirror my friend Historian here and put up a tentative list, to be filled and edited over time. Once this disclaimer is removed, consider my nominations finalized. Also, wow, crazy seing my name and diaries all around. Thank you all so much! Recognition Of The Year Section --- Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Diary Not To Win DOTM Of The Year Award (Must have been active in 2019 but never won DOTM): NYCW The Ultimate Throwback by Charismatic_Enigma Comments: I've been on and off keeping up with this, but I'm truly surprised it hasn't won DotM not even once. New Diary Writer Of The Year Award (Never written a diary before 2019) 1. Chisoku Comments: With Bigelow_Cartwheel already nominated, I'd like to shine a light on Chisoku. He debuted as a diary writer with an interesting SAISHO diary, disappeared and then re-appeared with his ongoing BCG diary, all the while producing some excellent stuff to see and read. 2. alpha2117 Comments: You'd never guess 2019 was their debut year as a writer. Between WS_X and The Princess Diaries, it feels like I'm reading a veteran diary writer already. Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award Comments: With Togg, Historian and King_Bison already nominated, shipshirt gets my vote as another top tier re-renderer that has given a lot to the community. Most Shocking Section --- Most Shocking Signing Of The Year Award: The entire junior heavyweight division in southside_hitmen's BCG Dead Lions do not Roar Comments: BCG, in my mind, is all about heavyweight brawlers, technicians and strong style wrestlers, so seeing BCG add a junior division and bring in high flyers came as a shock (if not outright sacrilege) to me. Yeah, Chisoku did that too, but SSH was there first. Most Shocking Push Of The Year Award: The Queen of Queens division in alpha2117's WS_X Welcome to the Pleasuredome Comments: Trans/Exotico/Genderbending characters are usually either reserved for a single character or the entire company is built around them. Seeing them be part of a company as they were was an unusual and interesting suprise, especially since they were most often combined with good looking cis ladies doing eye candy (sorry, jigglefest) matches and fashion show angles. Most Shocking Championship Win Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Most Shocking Heel/Face Turn Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Individual Focus Section --- Worker Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Face Character Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Heel Character Of The Year Award: Silas Odswald, in The Oddworld by Bigelow Cartwheel Comments: Silas is the perfect example of a scumbag indy promoter. He is also the best heel owner character since Mr. McMahon became a thing. And yet he somehow manages to garner sympathy too, thanks to Bigelow_Cartwheel's writing of the diary through the character's perspective. Best Tag Team Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Stable/Faction Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Champion/Reign Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Angle Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Match Of The Year Award: Frankie Perez vs Extraordinario Jr at BCG Last Warrior: Masayuki Shiga Retirement Show in the BCG Junior Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarterfinals in southside_hitmen's BCG Dead Lions do not Roar. Comments: I usually struggle nominating specific matches or shows, but this is the only one that immediately comes to mind when I think of one match that stuck with me from 2019. Two workers I love but don't often get to use as they're signed by bigger promotions, a solid mix of strong style and high flying lucha, good psychology, momentum swings and several false finishes that almost got me Best Show/Event Of The Year Award: Pending Comments: Best Storyline/Feud Of The Year Award: Silas Odswald and Lucas Danger in The Oddworld by Bigelow Cartwheel Comments: They say the best stuff in wrestling is based on reality and this was a great example, a feud built around Odswald being a scumbag owner/dealer and Danger being a hopeless spot junkie. It became better when Odswald decided to stop selling and Danger became loyal, then the whole "who stomped on the apple pie" thing turned things to 11. Rocky Maivia Award: "The Butcher" Alexander Vasquez, in The Climb by Historian Comments: I don't legitimately hate any characters (besides maybe Byron, Jeff Nova and daddy Eisen) but Vasquez had a true Rocky Maivia journey. He debuted as a generic respawn or game-created rookie with zero character and got nowhere. Historian took him out of the spotlight, sent him off to developmental and re-debuted him as a heel with an interesting angle on his backstory that finally infused the much needed life and colour into him. Diary Section --- Mod Diary Of The Year Award: AWO Who says wrestling isn't high art? by DeathZone2 Comments: Rockverse, LondonVerse and Thunderverse are my mods of choice and I haven't seen many diaries using these. My CTUC is already nominated (thanks) so I'll put up this AWO one. All attempts so far portrayed AWO as a parody with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, but seeing it presented super serious really makes me feel the struggle of its workers trying to make it happen and feel like legit art. Cornellverse Diary Of The Year Award: NotBPW A Game of Stones...and DeColts, by The_Lloyd Comments: Historian's The Climb and Lloyd's NotBPW diary dominated 2018 and the former swept the DotY awards, then they both went on in 2019 and stopped. Since the Climb did so earlier and got last year's awards, I feel Game of Stones deserves the nomination here. Writer Of The Year Award: Historian Comments: I enjoy Bigelow_Carthwheel and alpha2117's writing, but a large part of that has to do with them running silly feds they're writing in a silly manner. Historian has been consistently putting out quality writings, whether it's The Climb, Redemption of Texas Pete, Jake Sawyer in FCW or our joint WWA and SCCW diaries. His backstage segments especially are so gritty, real and emotional, they get me right in the feels, everytime. Best Graphic Presentation Of The Year Award: WEXXV - With Fire and Blood, by FINisher Comments: With Lloyd's NotBPW and southside_hitmen's BCG diaries already nominated, I'm using my vote to draw some attention towards this diary that was a true shooting star, bright and short-lived. The frames gave a nice feel, the portraits over company background logos too, the videos were well-picked and not overused and the pacing/formatting of the writing was perfect for a hardcore, spot-based company like WEXXV.

  20. Abominatrix would probably be to Silas what Martyr in OWC is: a decent, yet legitimately creepy, deranged worker. I can totally see him having the weirdest of relationships with Lust though I always tend to assume readers are unfamiliar with any roster, so I try to drop as much info as I can for them. Especially with uncommon mods, like this. So far it's only been released with the US complete, but if you check out the hype thread, many more promotions elsewhere have been added, I'm assuming willr0ck is saving it for a TEW2020 release. I do have some sad news about CTUC, but that'll be made public soon along with the card for the next show.
