1.
I've been trying NOTBPW again, and it's going pretty well, or at least I can make it through the summer without dropping to Cult. I did turn off the owner goals and tweaked the product settings so that it's performance over pop instead performance way over pop.

The other thing I've done that I've found success with is bumping up production values at the start and starting a second A show on UK Broadcasting Prime.

You can use those who aren't, but they'll complain afterwards.

But I want it to fit the company.

Considering they have a full 12 monthly events booked already (not to mention a weekly show all ready to go when they get a TV deal) I don't think they fit. For North American companies, I think your best bets are QAW, CILL, CWWF (when they open) and maybe one or two others.

CZCW jumps out as does 4C and ACPW.

Well, with ACPW, you'll either need to hit the editor or play as the owner, because Daedalus does not like touring schedules.

The only time I've seen a wrestler go up in Psychology has been when they've been getting tips from their mentor.

  7.
Taking a break from a very hot AAA playthrough (over 2 years in, and no one from the starting roster is in Time Decline! That's impressive, considering the age of some of the roster), and I started a new QAW run. One goal I had that had nothing to do with success as far as wrestling goes- find a way to patch things up between Kristabel Plum and Cat Quine. NOTBPW released the former a few months in, and the COTT alliance allowed me to bring in the latter. Now, they're not best friends or anything, but they've buried the hatchet. Which makes me feel good.

Also, I put Power Girl and Maria Guest as a tag team. I'm envisioning Maria Guest as PG's Jimmy Olsen.

Would be nice if we get more companies that kick people out that dont work and aggressively look for other talents without it being too much on both sides.

Similarly, I wish there was a way that gimmicky alter egos would only be used by appropriate companies. It's weird to see NOTBPW poach people like The Crippler or Sara Marie York, and then suddenly the no-nonsense serious wrestling promotion has a lobster man and a wrestling secretary!

Not trying to come off as condescending or anything just generally curious as to how this will better the gaming experience?

Yeah, this was my thought. The game is like 90% text. What's VR going to do? "It actually FEELS like I'm reading!!!"

    1) QAW- Fun, and fairly easy to expand.

    2) AAA- Trickier to expand, but you have one of the better mixes of veteran talent and young workers.

    3) OLLIE- Probably the best Lucha fed in the game. Popular enough so that it's not a struggle, but not so big that you have the issues that SOTBPW has.

    4) SWF- I just like it.

    Least Favorites

    1) NOTBPW- I keep trying, but I think perf > pop companies aren't for me, at least ones with the starting issues that NOTBPW has.

    2) EMLL- I really want to like them, but that 1 on 1 thing is a downer.

    3) MHW- This one has a couple of caveats. Usually, when I've done a watch game just to get to when a new company starts up that I can take over, El Critico is the founder. And he HATES alliances and working agreements. Between that, your starting cash, and starting pop, you'll get murdered by OLLIE without some edits. And that doesn't even take into account that there aren't a whole lot of good hardcore workers in Mexico.

    4) ACPW- I believe each company was created to give lessons in how to play the game. SWF teaches you how to manage a developmental company. Regional companies in Mexico and Japan teach you how to balance patience with the need to advance in size. I believe with ACPW the lesson is "Have you seen the in-game editor?" Here is a synopsis of my first impressions when trying ACPW....

"Okay, so, the owner's really rich, but we only have $100k to start? Well, hopefully the product lends itself to sponsorship and... no, it doesn't. Well, maybe we're in a hot region? Oh, we're in the Maritimes. Well, if we switch to touring, then maybe that will give us a bit of... no, the owner blocked it. Well, hey, there's a Women's title in the title belt pics folder, and female wrestlers are often cheaper than they're male counterparts, so we can use them for smaller events, so I'll just start a women's division and... Buchinsky blocked that too. Pardon me a moment while I shout profanities into this paper bag."

I had planned to have a tournament at The War To Settle The Score, where he would beat Ricky Dale Johnson in the final with help from a faction I plan to build around him, eventually leading to a "War Games" match at Total Mayhem and a retirement match for RDJ at Summer Showdown.

Then, at the start of February (the month of the tournament) Rip Chord died. I feel like the natural thing would be to make this the "Rip Chord Memorial Tournament" and run it yearly, but I feel a bit weird about having Jay win a tournement by cheating that's being held in memorial of his father's death less than a month before...

Am I over thinking it?

Maybe. What year are you in? Because remember, at the start, the only guys who can handle a Total Mayhem match without complaining (Brawling at 67 or better) are Rocky, Sammy, Josh, Guide, Vessey, Andrews, Wolf, and Eddie Peak. Jay Chord is right on the cusp, if I recall, but if the rest of your faction doesn't include any of those guys listed, then you'll need to do some building or talent raiding.

  12.
I've been playing TCW, and it's been going well. We're at the end of July 2016, haven't dropped to Cult, but USPW and SWF have (and yet somehow, we're still on #3?!?). Total Mayhem XX got Show Of the Year So Far with a 97 rating (WOO!), as well as Young Wrestler Of The Year So Far (Xavi Ferrera). Haven't lost too many people except for some of the older guys who were going to get culled sooner rather than later (Human Arsenal, Fonzarelli), and I've managed to poach some folks from elsewhere (Emily McQueen, Randy Bumfhole, and Angry Gilmore).

Also started up a Women's Division, and that's going well. When playing USPW or SWF, I'll hire unemployed women, as you have ways to get them over quickly (Eye Candy matches for the latter, just start your own network and spam B shows for the former) that aren't available to TCW at the start, so I've been hiring established talent (though for AAA or QAW, I'll wait until they get cut or USPW or NOTBPW go after them first). I've got Melody, Raven Nightfall, Sara Marie York, J-Ro, Suzanne Brazzle, Tracy Brendon (who I was going to hire anyway for Josh Taylor), Charity Sweet, Ariel Breaks (Melody's protege), Charity Sweet, Claire Winters (who I've seen usually get picked up as a protege by some of the talent that I have), Talia Quinzel (ditto), Jaime Quine, and The A-List. A lot of the younger talents are on either the NBT or Hot Prospects list, and Claire is on both, so she's definitely a keeper.

I will admit to a small cheat- I went into the editor and tweaked the Auto Booker AI to put more 3 on 3 matches on TV.

By the time he’s decent enough to sniff main events you could probably have Primus Allen if you want.

Oh, yeah, SWF lets go a LOT of monsters who can go in the ring. Primus, Ekuma, Scythe, occasionally Bear Bekowski (if you want to put up with his attitude), etc. And then there are the guys in various regional companies- Hell's Bouncer (if you can snag him before USPW does), etc.

  14.

It definitely depends on the style you prefer.

As said by are all good promotions depending on your interest. AAA and QAW are women's specific promotions, so if that's up your alley -- go for it. QAW is heavily influenced by lucha libre where as AAA is more traditional 'American' style. SWF and USPW are both good, mainstream pop over performance promotions that start with weekly TV, PPV deals, a bunch of money, and a lot of guys on the roster.

OLLIE is traditional lucha libre and also a lot of fun to book. Personally, I play as MAW a lot -- they're by far my favorite promotion to play as. I've played as them in every iteration of the game since it game to Grey Dog Software. They offer a good old school, small vibe with monthly shows. They have a solid roster right now -- if at times a little underwhelming, but they are set up to be sustainable.

If you like hardcore, PSW, IPW, or GSW are good places to go. CZCW is, in my head, equivalent to PWG right now in terms of ring style -- it uses a bit of everything and is definitely very modern.

Then there is Japan and Europe and Canada and Australia... so really it depends on where you want to be based out of and the style of promotion you find most compelling. If in modern day real world mods you've been playing as WWE, then SWF or USPW would be your best bet.

As an addendum, with the exception of a few Regions, Canada and the United States are the hardest to get TV deals in for Regional and Cult companies.

Get the ppv deal signed, start planning some tournaments. I've had a good roll with time decline only having three guys. I'm considering a dev territory but that is going to have to wait until after the tsunami I think. Perhaps a B show should be the priority.

I've already reduced the Comedy aspect.

It looks to be a good idea to use the loan and trade features rather than grab free agents, so I'll do some shortlisting before the first show.

It's going to be interesting to deal with this product for the first time but I think the talent is good enough to make it work. That alone makes them better than CZCW.

If this games do go long term and I get the chance to get to them, i think it would be amazing to make the product integrated and bring the 5 SSW workers....

If you're going to make it integrated, grab Laura Flame.
