He did so with the help from two Top Rope Splashes by Umaga in a 3 on 1 handicap match with his son Shane also on his team. After the event The ECW Originals cut promos on the situation, their feelings towards Vince and his new vision for ECW. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]First ECW Backlash (Early May)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]Balls Mahoney became a surprise first victim of Vince's reign as champion after he booked himself into a title defense with the chair swinging freak. Before the match started Shane declared the match would also include the stip that he would fire the loser from ECW. Unsurprisingly Vince won after Umaga attacked and Balls Mahoney was fired on-screen. Off screen the makings of Vince's and Shane's vision for the third brand started to develop. Balls Mahoney was actually released from his contract as part of the re-development. He was seen as too ECW like for the new future third brand plans. Also on the first ECW show after Backlash a new team called High Impact; Cody Rhodes and Sean Spears, shocked The New Breed, by beating Matt Striker & Kevin Thorn, causing the two members to have trouble with leader Elijah Burke for disgracing the group. Rhodes and Spears were called up instead of the real life decision to bring The Major Brothers up, they have gone to OVW in my world.[/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]More Victims (Mid May)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]The Sandman and Sabu became the next two victims, facing the same fate as Balls Mahoney. They were booked in title matches with the boss Vince McMahon but faced similar Umaga based attacks. Both Sandman and Sabu were fired on screen, whilst being released from their contracts off screen. Neither had been happy over last year in ECW and Vince didn't see either as being able to not be seen as anything other than ECW wrestlers, something the new vision third brand needs in WWE's managements mind. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]Judgment Day (Late May)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]At the Judgement Day PPV Vince McMahon put his ECW World Heavyweight Title on the line against Tommy Dreamer, with the same stipulation as past Originals matches. Dreamer lost via help from Umaga and Shane McMahon this time, despite RVD's best efforts to counter them. Shane McMahon then fired Dreamer on screen, but off screen he wasn't released like the others, simply moved down to OVW to help train new wrestlers with Al Snow and others. In this match Vince suffered a knee ligament injury which would mean he'd have to go for surgery at some point. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]Aftermath of Judgment Day (Late May)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]After Judgment Day Bobby Lashley returned from his shoulder injury and immediately went after Vince for his title again, this of course lead to more Umaga based attacks, eventually leading to an announcement by Vince, that at One Night Stand III, it would be Umaga defending Vince McMahon's ECW Title against Bobby Lashley. Also Shane McMahon decided he'd take care of the final ECW Original, Rob Van Dam. Shane made a match between the two of them for ECW ONS III, with the stip being it would be a loser leaves ECW match again. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]ECW Evolves (Early June)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]A week before the ECW ONS PPV, Shane started the final clear outs to be able to revamp the brand. He told Rob Van Dam if he lost to Umaga on ECW show before ONS III, that Joey Styles and Tazz would be fired from ECW. Thanks to help from The New Breed; Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von, RVD lost. So the commentary team was fired on screen, Styles was then released from his actual contract as well, but Tazz wasn't, he ended up re-joining Michael Cole on Smackdown, as JBL became RAW's new GM, what with Vince injury and Shane focusing on ECW brand. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]ECW One Night Stand Recap (Early June)[/U] Shane McMahon def. Rob Van Dam [COLOR="#25587E"]Rob Van Dam lost when Andrew "The Test" Martin & Luther "The Pain" Reigns helped Shane when ref was down. With RVD losing he was fired on screen and it was only a week before his actual contract finished, so was left to sit a week out at home. Shane McMahon was a busy boy on this actual PPV, by not only winning in the main event, but also naming himself as the new GM of ECW and then changed the brand's name from ECW to eXcess after his win. The reason for this is simple, WWE felt they had used ECW enough to gain initial viewers but now wanted the third WWE brand to be more of a WWE style brand name.[/COLOR] Bobby Lashley def. Umaga w/Vince McMahon [COLOR="#25587E"]The night didn't go all well for the McMahon's though as Bobby Lashley returned to action by defeating Umaga, meaning Vince's ECW World Heavyweight Title changed hands to the former champ. With Vince on the outside of ring, he waited for his chance to aid Umaga but out from the crowd came a returning Paul Heyman, who stopped Vince from helping and handed Lashley with title belt to use on Umaga. Heyman's contract is due to finish in a couple of months time and might not be part of brand again, it was simply done to help Lashley regain title, whilst giving the former ECW owner a non your fired angle. Vince believes Heyman could still be useful for WWE as a character/manager so wanted to have Heyman open to potentially signing a new deal and by doing so stop TNA from cashing in with Paulie.[/COLOR] The New Breed (Burke & Cor Von) def. Matt Striker & Kevin Thorn [COLOR="#25587E"]After High Impact defeated Striker and Thorn on an ECW show, the New Breed leader had been at odds with them, to the point where they ended up quiting. So this match came about and The New Breed pulled out the win via Cor Von pouncing Striker half way across ring, giving Burke the pin chance. Afterwards Burke told the fans he'd be on look out for future New Breed members.[/COLOR] CM Punk def. Hardcore Holly [COLOR="#25587E"]Punk had lost a bit of momentum after losing to Burke and Cor Von in the aftermath of his fake New Breed joining incident. So after Holly returned to break Snitsky's arm like he did to him (kayfabe), which was done to take Snitsky off screen for an injury he needs fixing (also plan is for him to move to SD upon return, what with Taker's long term problem), he decided to attack Punk after having the honour of tapping out to Punk's Anaconda Vise. Punk won again, only by G.T.S this time as Bob Holly had a cast on his forearm.[/COLOR] Idol Stevens def. Nunzio [COLOR="#25587E"]"The Ladies Man" Idol Stevens debuted in ECW at One Night Stand III by defeating Nunzio, whom was accompanied by Trinity. Little Guido maintained his position on roster as WWE felt he had enough history to be seen as a WWE wrestler more so than ECW, hence the name change back as well.[/COLOR] High Impact def. Elite Outlaws [COLOR="#25587E"]The new team of Cody Rhodes & Sean Spears had a successful first PPV match, by defeating Mike Knox (with new look) and his old friend Derrick Neikirk. Elite Outlaws, as Knox re-introduced him and partner as being called, used to be tag team and drinking partners back when he started wrestling. High Impact won via the Golden Lasso (a modified heart attack type move).[/COLOR] [COLOR="#25587E"]Other ONS III notes were the debut of the new eXcess announce team of Steve Keirn (aka Sinner/Doink) and Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis). Keirn took Styles place as the lead announcer and Ace took on the role of the colour commentator. RAW/SD also combined to put on a couple of matches for this PPV, Edge def. Orton in a street fight and The Hardy Boys def. Brian Kendrick & Paul London. Also "The Gossip Hound" Robbie Dawber made his debut as eXcess's interviewer, after introducing himself he talked in the ring to Stevie Richards, who announced his cousin Chris Rombola was going to be joining him in WWE very shortly, he said they would be teaming together as they have always been on same wave length and get on great, Stevie was very excited by this move to the revamped tag div. [/COLOR] [IMG]http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4505/dividernm1.jpg[/IMG] [U]eXcess In Full Revamp (Early June)[/U] [COLOR="#25587E"]Immediately after ONS WWE.com went flying into gear with a new look for the newly renamed ECW brand, Shane McMahon also sparked straight into life as the new General Manager of eXcess. He made a few announcements via WWE.com, firstly that the ECW World Heavyweight Title was being replaced by a new title, the WWE Heavyweight Title (a white version of pre-Cena WWE Championship Title) and although he wasn't a big Lashley fan of current times he'd hand over the new title to "The Real Deal" himself on the first eXcess show. Secondly two new titles were to be introduced; the WWE Cruiser-X Title and WWE Intercontinental Tag Team Titles. The X on the end of Cruiser stands for eXcess and Shane has declared that to mean an excess in the normal cruiserweight limit, up from 220lbs to 230lbs. Thirdly the first PPV would be at the end of the month and it would be Bad Blood! Behind the scenes WWE and more so Shane, decided to let eXcess be more separate from SD and RAW to establish its own identity, so therefore would receive 6 of its own PPV's a year. The roster make up was to be more of a young feel to it, many OVW wrestlers have and will continue to be called upon, with Shane trying to create a fresh, young and talented roster, trying to bring back some fans that they fear may have gone to TNA for that fresher product feel. I really like were this is going, making this more of a young talent show is a good idea although I would have rather Lashley went to Raw or something it still works, I just hope to see CM Punk receive a push.

Nice start and a good, plausible backstory. I can easily buy into McMahon eventually deciding to tear down the remains of ECW (having milked the name and use of many originals) and create a more WWE-ised version of the brand. The roster seems a bit limited at the moment, but I know you can address that soon if needs be.

Cheers for the replies so far, hopefully the shows will be good enough to keep bringing you guys back, currently just over half way through first show and finding new stylee quite easy to write with. As for the data MC, its a very muddled up 05 data which I have used for ages, think it was a ravex or something like that, so isn't very useful really, I'm just using that and TEW05 for base of diary, been finding 07 tough to get into.

The current plan is for the youngest World Heavyweight Champion to be moved from the RAW brand to the new eXcess brand. The idea is thought to have come from Shane McMahon, whom believes that with him in charge and working with Orton, he'll be able to relate and help the talented wrestler reach his potential whilst avoiding further trouble. Some inside of WWE have seen this as a pleasant punishment, but being on eXcess will have a serious impact on his wage intake, with missing out of the major selling PPV's (WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam). Its not known how the move will come about and if he'll be on the eXcess show tonight, however we do expect it will occur before eXcess's debut PPV, Bad Blood, which is due to take place at the end of the month. Lashley managed to kick out though and tried to gain an advantage but Burke quickly nailed a kick to the head to stop any momentum switch. For the next portion of the match Burke continued to kick and punch down upon Lashley's shoulder, which was an area he had time off for. Each time the ref tried to pull Burke away for closed fist punches, he backed off whilst one of Martin, Reigns or Cor Von stretched out the arm and added a blow before moving away as if nothing had happened. This style of 3 on 1 attacked continued, much to Shane McMahon's pleasure, who had taken up a seat near the ring bell. After each extra attack Burke tried for a cover but it wasn't enough to gain three, annoyed by this he decided to give Cor Von an extra bit of time to do damage again as Lashley was thrown to the outside. Just as Lashley got up he was met by a massive Pounce from Cor Von which sent him flying back into the ring steps, three or four feet behind him. With the aid of Cor Von, Lashley got up and was rolled back into the ring, but yet again the pin didn't produce a 3 count. Burke then decided it was time for a bit of Elijah Express action, so he Irish whipped Lashley to the corner, pulled down both knee pads and charged towards the big champion...... but he was met with a huge Spear!! Many here weren't sure about this move for the much IWC hated person, however he played his very Bobby Heenan like heel character but with that WWE insider feel well, and we thought together the chemistry between the duo was worthy of being this weeks the good. Maybe Vince should look to continue destroying things connected to the word extreme. The debut eXcess show as a whole gains the elite award for its new, fresh feel and smart turn around of a product many old school ECW fans just couldn't accept. Of course we'd also like to pin point one aspect which we feel needs praise, over 30 minutes worth of wrestling, with all matches feeling like they actually furthered something, wheather it be a character, storyline or potential feud. Due to the reduction in roster size of the third WWE brand, since ECW Originals were fired, Shane McMahon has approached and secured a special superstar draft for eXcess, the board of directors confirmed. What does this mean exactly, well Shane and the eXcess brand will be granted two random WWE superstars, one from RAW and one from Smackdown, plus one special draft pick of Shane's choice. The only limitations for this draft is that it's exclusive of champions, GM's or announcers, so the likes of John Cena, JBL and J.R are all safe from the move. We tried to catch up with Shane on the matter of the special draft choice pick, however he wasn't available at this time. There was one other exciting piece of news about the two draftee's, that being Shane McMahon has decided to wait until Bad Blood to unveil the wrestlers joining from RAW & SD, not just with an appearance, but in a draftee's match against each other. When the special draft pick will be known is currently unknown and expect Shane to address this situation on eXcess next week. Who the wrestlers will be is anyone's guess, but one thing for sure is it will definitely be of interest to the fans and the other members of the eXcess roster. [The Shape]

Loving this so far! For a start, it's presented brilliantly, better than any diary I've seen before, though it'd be nice if you updated the roster page as you went along, especially now at a time when newcomers to the brand are quite frequent. I love the idea itself of a fresh new brand giving youngsters a place to shine, and the show was top notch, both booking- and writing-wise. What data are you using? On top of what you've already done I think you could add to this with a weekly summary of Raw and Smackdown results + ratings along with the eXcess ones. On a final note, I couldn't stand Reigns in his previous stint in WWE, but the name Luther "The Pain" Reigns just rolls off the tongue beautifully. Keep up the good work in all areas.
