With Yang egging him on, Guido hits his partner with the Arrivaderci before he and Yang shake hands again and leave the ring together smiling. [U]Lillian[/U]: Edge on Sunday at No Mercy you attacked Chris Jericho just after he successfully defended his WWE Smackdown Title against Chris Jericho. A video plays recapping the post match attack. Torrie suprises Williams with a roll-up from a DDT attempt which shakes the c*ckiness out of her. From the merry old land of Engerland... weighing in at an eel pie chomping 258 pounds... Bill Regent or something, I don't know. A german suplex on the Englishman sets him up for the Green Bay Plunge which connects and secures the pinfall. [I]Ken Kennedy def. William Regal by pinfall in 15:27 (Kennedy and Regal didn't click)[/I] [B]RATING = B-[/B][/CENTER] Kennedy is celebrating his win when Edge come strolling out from the back. [U]Edge[/U]: ok now, time to go "your highness", the big boys have something to discuss and it has nothing to do with you. Come on! Let's go! Kennedy looks at Edge quizzically as The Rated R Superstar gets in the ring. He slowly exits the ring and walks to the back, never once taking his eyes off of Edge. [B]RATING = B+[/B] [U]Edge[/U]: OK, now that he's gone... Jericho! You know what I want. Get out here and face me! Jericho's music hits and the Smackdown champ walks down the ramp with his belt over his shoulder. He gets into the ring and both men stand nearly nose to nose in the centre. [U]Jericho[/U]: Edge. [U]Edge[/U]: Well, well. You actually came out to face me, I'm impressed. Now, onto more important things like that item of my property draped over your shoulder... [U]Jericho[/U]: Your property? In case you've forgotten, I kicked your ass and took this belt from you at King of the Ring. And then you tried to take it back at Vengeace and you just couldn't get the job done. You've been out here in the past running your mouth about people getting more shots than they deserve, what makes you any different? [U]Edge[/U]: I'm the Rated R.... [U]Jericho[/U]: Shut up! We know who you are. You're an insecure little jackass who steals his titles and then cries to mommy when someone comes along and takes them from him! [U]Edge[/U]: How dare... [U]Jericho[/U]: No! How dare you! You think you deserve a title shot just because you want one? Who the hell do you think you are?! This title isn't something you just get, its something you have to earn. Not that you'd know about that seeing as how you got it from a man who had already been beaten all to hell by two other men. You didn't earn the belt, you got it by default bucko. But that window closed for you now you have to ma up and actually win this damn belt, because the winning is what makes it so damn important! The two stand nose to nose for a moment until Edge looks ready to say something. He goes to speak but instead hauls off and slaps Jericho accross the face. The Rated R Superstar almost looks shocked himself but then a huge grin spreads accross his face. Jericho pauses and touches his cheek before diving onto him. The two men brawl wildly rolling around the ring as security and officials flood the ring. [U]JBL[/U]: If Edge didn't have Jericho's attention before, he sure as hell has it now! [U]Cole[/U]: Edge will do anything to win back the gold JBL! [U]JBL[/U]: That's the attitude of a champion Michael Cole, Jericho can talk all he wants about earning the belt but Edge is the most ruthless opportunist I think I've ever seen! He has been suspended for one month as punishment. Michael Hayes is understood to be taking over commentary duties in the mean time. Management are said to be frustrated with Styles and are reported to be looking into securing a permanent replacement. - Stan Hansen and Pat Patterson have both been hired as road agents. Hansen is being sent to Raw while Patterson will work Smackdown. - Hansen and Patterson have been brought in as replacemtns for John Laurinatis and Bruce Pritchard who have both been released. - 2 Cool have fulfilled their short term contract with the WWE. The contract has not been renewed at this time though the door is still open for a future return. - Bobby Lashley has signed a two year extension to his contract. It is understood to be for a significantly larger amount than the contract preceeding it. Reports suggest Lashley played hardball and even secured 25% of merchandise revenue from WWE who were keen to retain the star. - Ron Simmons contract negotiations fell through. Apparently Simmons asked for more than WWE were willing to pay. He is expected to work the remainder of his contract before leaving the company sometime next week. - As expected, the TV deals have been renewed without any problems. CorVon's mood quickly sours as Naitch begins to speak. [U]Flair[/U]: WOOOO! Well, Alpha Male. You gave old Slick Ric quite the beating at No Mercy. Seriously brother I was impressed by how angry you got at being unable to beat me 123! In the MIDDLE OF THE RING! But you shouldn't beat yourself up over not being able to beat me kiddo. Lot's of people failed to BE THE MAN, when they failed to BEAT THE MAN. You've got your little Alpha Male schtick to keep you going so long as you stay in the shallow end you can be a big fish after all... Of course... If maybe you want one more shot at the big time... Well... The Nature Boy wouldn't mind the chance at whipping your ass good boy, maybe giving you a taste of your own medicine? The end is near and soon one girl will become $250,000 richer and, even better, they will become the latest WWE Diva! But which fillie has fallen at the final fence?... Erika Saylor! I'm sorry Erika but it looks like you'll be leaving us. Erika comes out to join Val looking a bit teary eyed. [U]Erika[/U]: I guess... I guess I didn't convince you guys... that I could make the most of the opportunity... That I could live up to being a WWE Diva. Does that mean I've given up? Not a chance. I don;t get why you did what you did lat week, it wasn't nice. What have I done to you?! [U]Marella[/U]: It wasn't nice but you know what? I don't care. I don't give a damn about anyone except numero uno from now on. Why did I do it? I felt like it, pure and simple. But you really shouldn't worry about that, if I were you I'd be more concerned with Victoria beating me all over that ring!... Eugene arrives and puts himself inbetween Daffney and Marela. [U]Eugene[/U]: I think you've done enough here. Maybe you should leave. [U]Marella[/U]: Heh, yeah I should go find a nice seat to watch the fun anyway. Marella walks off chuckling to himself. She hoists Daffney up and puts her own again with the Widow's Peak. 1, 2, NO! Victoria breaks the pin herself wanting to inflict more pain. She hauls Daffney up and goes for a second Widow's peak but Daffney wriggles out of it. She tries to mount an offense but is put down by a big boot. Victoria whips her to the ropes where Daffney opts to slide to the outside. Victoria follows and the pair play cat and mouse around ringside as the referee begins his ten count. If it was Daffney's plan it worked perfectly, otherwise lady luck shone for her as on the count of nine she slid back into the ring. Victoria realised too late what had happened and she was still on the outside by the count of ten. Daffney wins! [I]Daffney def. Victoria by countout at 7:35[/I] [B]RATING = D[/B][/CENTER] Daffney goes crazy in the ring, skipping and jumping up and down as the crowd cheer. Victoria on the other hand goes crazy at ringside, smashing up the timekeepers table, livid that she actually lost. [B]RATING = C+[/B] A cut to backstage reveals an irate Eric Bischoff. Th Intercontinental champion manhandles both men with ease as they struggle to find a way to put him down. Randy Orton is content to lurk on the apron, shark-like waiting for his moment to strike. Wilson and Smith attmept a double suplex on Big Vis but even combined they can't lift him off the mat, a double clothesline puts them down. Vis then heaves Wilson to the outside and tags in Orton who puts Harry Smith out with the RKO and takes the pin. [I]Randy Orton & Viscera def. The Bulldogs by pinfall in 10:20 (Orton looked good. Orton and Viscera have great chemistry)[/I] [B]RATING = C[/B][/CENTER] The heels shake hands in the ring when they are interrupted by John Cena. [U]Cena[/U]: A pretty sight there, a boy and his blimp! I can't say I blame you for your first choice there Randy. Big Ol' Vis has eaten 10 times the men you'll ever be! But now its my turn. Allow me to intorduce the firast member of team Cena: Burchill! The English powerhouse comes out to join Cena and both pairs stare down at either end of the rampway. [B]RATING = B[/B] [U]Orton[/U]: Bravo, John Cena found a friend. But you'll need to be quicker than that if you want to make up the numbers difference! At that both Burchill and Cena are knocked to the ground by Johnny Nitro and Kenny Dykstra. The duo beat their victims down as Orton and Viscera come up the ramp to join in. The beatdown is decisive with the four on two leaving the faces out cold. [B]RATING = C-[/B] [U]Orton[/U]: As I was saynig, the numbers game is still on. I see you've already met my next two team mates: Johnny Nitro and Kenny Dykstra. The foursome play to the crowd to boos and jeers before leaving as agents check on Cena and Burchill. [B]RATING = B-[/B] An exasperated Eric Bischoff is talking with Trinity and Matt Hardy before their match. [U]Trinity[/U]: Mr Bischoff, I want my rematch against Lita. She stole that belt! [U]Bischoff[/U]: And you'll get it, its your right after all. [U]Hardy[/U]: And what about me?! I was robbed in that match. Everyone saw that I had him pinned clean in the centre of the ring! [U]Bischoff[/U]: Alright, alright. Ordinarilly you wouldn't get another shot but, you're right, you did have him pinned and since Cena versus Orton didn't yeild a contender... I'll tell you what, win tonight and you get your shot! [U]Hardy[/U]: Then I guess I'll just have to win then won't I? Again, there is nothing fancy as Trinity and Lita simply slug it out looking to beat each other to a pulp. Trinity gains the upper hand and Lita quickly tags in Carlito. The Raw champ seems happy to beat up a woman and goes for Trinity who is happy to oblige, putting him down with a headscissor before tagging in Matt Hardy. V1 goes all out, barely giving Carlito a chance to breathe. Only the intervention of Lita allows the champ to escape a pinfall. The match is evenly balanced from there in until Hardy counters an Irish whip by throwing Carlito into Lita, knocking her to the floor. Carlito stumbles back into a Side Effect followed by a Fall From Grace by Trinity. Mat then covers for the 1, 2, 3. [I]Matt Hardy & Trinity def. Carlito & Lita by pinfall in 14:55[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] The faces celebrate in the ring as the heels look on in disbelief. [U]JR[/U]: Matt Hardy did it! He has another shot at the gold at Survivor Series! [U]Coach[/U]: Yeah but Trinity won't be there to help him then will she?! [B]RATING = C+[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C-[/B] (A bad rating for a bad show. But it could have been worse. Those Es sent it into a spiral it couldn't get out of and the main event just wasn't strong enough. Deuce & Domino by pinfall.[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B] ********************************************************************** A video plays recapping the events from last week's show including Vince McMahon's apparent ultimatum to Paul Heyman. [B]RATING = B+[/B] [U]Hayes[/U]: Thank you for joining us folks, I'm Michael Hayes standing in for Joey Styles and I'm joined by Taz! [U]Taz[/U]: And its good to be back in the Ballroom Freebird. I think maybe Paul Heyman eeded this to focus his mind on what to do next! He tried to help out last week when Elijah Burke and CM Punk found themselves under attack but all he succeeded in doing was getting a beating for himself as well! Explosive doesn't begin to describe Lashley's attack and only Thorn's toughness keeps things from falling apart in the early going. Ariel tries to get involved but an intense stare from Lashley actually makes the Dark Princess back away rather than incur his wrath. Storm's technical accumen versus Finlay's old school no nonsense approach. Finlay's brawling looked to trump Storm's finesse as he trapped him ion the corner and went to work with punches and kicks. Storm wasn't finished though ad ducked out under Finlay and put him down with a neckbreaker. Finlay again took charge after a knee to the gut countered a crossbody attempt. The Irishman picked Storm up for the Celtic Cross but Storm hooked Finlay's leg and rolled through into the Canadian Maple Leaf. He pulled Finlay back into the centre of the ring where, seeing no way out, Finlay tapped to submit. [I]Lance Storm def. When the bell rings they go straight for their opponents. Striker and Masters looks out of their element and bail to the outside where the Hardcore Heroes follow them. Umaga on the other hand seems to be enjoying the no rules environment and stands there shrugging off chair shots from Mahoney. Armando Estrada yells instructions to the Buldozer who catches the chair and pulls it from Balls' hands before dishing out some punishment of his own. But Balls too just stands there and takes the shots as the crowd yell "Balls!". Shane McMahon runs down to help out and he and Striker team up against Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer responds with a double clothesline to put both men down. Masters overpowers Stevie but he won't give up and keeps coming at the Masterpiece. Even the 4 on 3 isn't enough as the Originals thrive on the hardcore rules and it looks like the Corporation's plans will be scuppered until Batitsa runs down to the ring. He grabs Stevie and sends him crashing to the mat with a Batistabomb. Now 5 on 3, things start to go the Corporation's way as Batista and Shane take on Balls and Masters and Striker beat down Stevie. Umaga is alone with Dreamer and he puts the former champion down with the Samoan Spike before finishing him off with a splash for the pinfall. [I]Umaga, Chris Masters & Matt Striker def. Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards & Balls Mahoney by pinfall in 13:34[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Vince McMahon comes running down yelling for his men to "finish the job". The Originals are dragged back into the ring as the Corporation lays into the with boots and chair shots. [U]Hayes[/U]: Isn't somebody going to help?! The Corproation are enjoying themselves in the ring as the toy with the beaten and bloodied Originals. Their fun is cut short when Bobby Lashley comes running down with a baseball bat! The ECW Champion waffles Umaga, putting the savage down before going after the others. Masters and Strkier are both sent to the outside, Shane eats a Spear. Batista and Vince bail rather than facing him. The Corporation regroup outside as Vince orders them back in. Before they can take advantage however they find themselves under attack again, this time from Elijah Burke, CM Punk and Rhyno weilding chairs! [B]RATING = B[/B] The heels retreat up the ramp when Paul Heyman climbs into ringside from the crowd. He calls for a mic. [U]Heyman[/U]: Vince, you want to take over ECW? You want to destroy ECW?... NOT ON MY WATCH! The crowd explode. [U]Heyman[/U]: But I'll tell you what, I'm sick of you running around here. I didn't ask for you, but I got you, so now I'm going to deal with you. Vince, you're vermin and vermin get exterminated, I know just how to go about it too. Vanity Vince, your vanity. I have a proposal that I know you simply can't turn down. I propose a winner take all match at Survivor Series. Your Corporation versus my Loyalists. 5 on 5, hardcore rules. When we win... you're gone Vince, gone for good. The crowd cheer. He talks with Shane for a time before turning to Heyman again. [U]McMahon[/U]: YOU'RE ON! At Survivor Series I take back what is rightfully mine and then there will be NOTHING to stop me! I like the revealing of the team mates on RAW, and the war over ECW is great, it's definately my favorite of the three brands right now. Can't wait to see what SmackDown! brings. The tag champs went to attack The Hooligans as the stood on the apron but both were taken out by a suicide dive from Brian Kendrick. With them out of the way, London tagged Roderick Strong after he had put Jay Briscoe down with a backbreaker. London's Calling managed to secure the pinfall victory. [I]The Hooligans def. Torrie does have spirit though and that is enough to keep her from folding up her tent completely in the face of Angel's attacks. Frustration sets in and Angel resorts to heelish ways, distracting the referee by claiming that Regal and Cabana grabbed her "inappropriately". As Charles Robinson confronts the pair, Douglas and Stevens run in and hit Torrie with a High-Low before Angel finishes her with a diving elbow from the top. Chavo takes every opportunity to point out that AJ's win was a fluke and that he will correct the mistake from No Mercy. And Chavo doesn;t put a foot wrong, at one stage catching himself before he got into an argument with the referee and refocusing on his opponent. But AJ showed that he deserved to be champion as he rolled out of the way of a Chavo Frogsplash. The champion then catapulted Chavo into the ringpost and caught him as he staggered backwadrs. The Styles Clash and that was it. [I]AJ Styles def. Chavo Guerrero by pinfall to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title in 14:15[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] AJ celebrates in the ring. Predictably, Kane dominates in the early going tossing his opponents aroud the ring with ease. It becomes apparent that a measure of teamwork will be required and MVP and kennedy decide that they are that team. A doublesuplex by the US Champ and King of the Ring puts Kane down and Rey pitches in with a moonsault. The teamwork disintegrates instantly when Kennedy throws Rey off and goes for the pin which is broken by MVP. As MVP and Kennedy argue, Kane sits up and then double chokeslams them before turning round into a spear from Edge but his pin is broker by a springboard leg drop by Rey. Soon Kane is embroiled in a brawl with Kennedy and MVP as Edge battles with Rey. The Rated R Superstar taunts Chris Jericho as he sits at the commentary table but Jericho won;t rise to the bait instead enjoying Edge's self imposed disadvatage as he takes the eye off the ball. Rey knocks him down with a dropkick before following up with the 619. Rey looks to win until Edge gets a foot on the ropes to break the pin to boos from the crowd. Edge loosens the turnbuckle cover and turns to face Rey who runs at him for a hurricanrana. Edge counters by throwing Rey over his head and down onto the exposed turnbuckle before delivering a double powerbomb and pinning him 1, 2, 3. [I]Edge def. Rey Mysterio, Kane, MVP & Ken Kennedy by pinfall in 20:32[/I] [B]RATING = B+[/B][/CENTER] [U]Cole[/U]: Edge has done it! Edge will face Chris Jericho at Survivor Series! [U]JBL[/U]: What do you have to say about that champ?... Champ? There is no celebration from Edge. Instead he and Chris get into an intense, silent staredown as the show closes. Or have you already announced it and I just read over it?[/QUOTE] Cheers, I don't know if I'll always do posters (after that can of worms was spilled elsewhere!) but I enjoy messing about with graphics, they help with the boredom at times and I was pleased with how that one looked. :) S&M are getting over now, pairing Shelley with Miz seemed nuts to begin with but its working out. I always loved Jericho giving people incorrect names, "Raisin" was easily my favourite. Only some shrewd cheating from La Resistance prevent the heels from being quickly steamrolled. The Bulldogs step in and use their technical abilty, and some cheerleading from Nattie at ringside, to ground the French Phenoms. Smith locks Grenier in a Texas Cloverleaf which almost gets the win until Shelton Benjamin springboards in from the outside to break it up. Things degenerate into a large melee as the referee loses control. he simply gives up and focuses on Justice Smith and Charlie Hass, who are the legal men. Hass puts Smith down with a DDT before stopping to mock Cornette who smiles as Smith recovers and spins Hass round into a powerslam for the win. [I]Shock & Awe & The Bulldogs def. Hardy falls and Carlito jumps on him tattooing him with the mic. Soon both men are brawling on the canvas until Hardy starts to make a comeback. Carlito decides that disretion is the better part of valour and bails having made his point. The two men stare down as the champ backs up the ramp and through the curtain. Cena refuses to give up though even after sustaining several doubleteams from the heels. A mistake by Dykstra allows Cena to finally make the hot tag to Burchill who comes in fring on a cylinders. Dykstra is put down hard, followed by Nitro who is thrown through the ropes into Melina. A C4 on Kenny draws cheers from the crowd as well as the pin. [I]John Cena & Burchill def. Johnny Nitro & Kenny Dykstra by pinfall at 16:10 (Cena and Burchill have good chemistry. Cena looked good. Burchill was tiring towards the end.)[/I] [B]RATING = B+[/B][/CENTER] Cena and Burchill barely have time to celebrate when a regrouping Dykstra and Nitro are joined by Orton and Viscera for the attack. The heels pace around the ring as Cena and Burchill try to keep them at bay. Suddenly the crowd erupts as help comes in the form of Ric Flair and JTG! The duo run down, knocking Dykstra to the floor and slide into the ring to join Cena and Burchill. With the odds more even, Orton decides to abort the attack and signals for his team to leave. As the head up the ramp, Cena takes a mic. [U]Cena[/U]: Oh Randy? Randy! Allow me to introduce my next two team mates: JTG and The Nature Boy Ric Flair! Woooo! A few more shots to the gut by Finlay leaves Storm rolling in agony on the canvas. The Irishman simply walks away, the job done. [B]RATING = C+[/B] Meanwhile, the ECW Originals, Dreamer, Ball and Stevie are talking backstage. The are rudely interrupted by an assault from the Corporation headed by Shane McMahon. Umaga, Striker and Masters have the advantage of surprise and quickly beat the trio down busting them open and leaving them down and out. Once he is satisfied, Shane McMahon signals for the troops to leave. [B]RATING = C-[/B] Vince is elsewhere with Batista. [U]Vince[/U]: Well, tht looks like three who WON'T be helping out Paul Heyman... Next up Rhyno! Ready to put him out of action big guy? [U]Batista[/U]: Of course, he's gonna wish he'd stayed in whatever bush league he was in and never even thought about coming back to ECW! Batista had the strength advantage but Rhyno's animalistic fury overshadowed even The Animal's aggresive streak. Batista was taken aback by the ferocity of the attack and twice retreated to the outisde to gather himself. Eventually, goaded by Vince McMahon, he re-entered the fray. His height advantage enabled him to keep Rhyno at arms length will still hammering down on him but Rhyno would not give up. At one point both men had the same idea and charged into one another. As both men lay out the referee began his count. Only Rhyno's tenacity and Vince McMahon's nagging brought both men round in time. Umaga and Armando Estrada came wandering down to join Vince and now Rhyno had to keep his eye on four people at once. The Samoan Bulldozer stalked Rhyno from outisde while an unseen Vince McMahon grabbed a chair. When everyone was in place, Armadno climbed the apron and distracted the referee while Umaga also jumped up to attract Rhyno, Vince threw the chair to Batista who blasted his opponent on the back of the head. The job done, everyone dropped to the flor to allow the referee to make the three count. [I]Batista def. Rhyno by pinfall at 13:58 (Batista looked good)[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Vince calls for the troops to finish the job and Masters, Striker and Shane run out to help. They are stopped in their tracks when CM Punk and Elijah Burke are led out by Bobby Lashley. All three rush into the ring and surround the fallen Rhyno, daring the heels to come and get him. Paul Heyman's voice comes over the PA. [U]Heyman[/U]: Vince, allow me to introduce four of the five men who will represent me at Survivor Series. Rhyno is helped to his feet by Lashley. [U]Heyman[/U]: The Man Beast, Rhyno. The Staright Edge Superstar, CM Punk. The Experience, Elijah Burke. And the ECW Champion, The Dominator, Bobby Lashley. Now I know the match isn't until Survivor Series but, if your Corporation feels up to it, they're welcome to try my boys out right now! Vince pauses for a second before calling his men off. Estrada loses control of Umaga though who charges the ring. Lashley Spears him down and Punk and Burke throw him back over. The Savage roars in anger as Masters and Striker struggle to drag him away. The heel's evetually get their head into the game thanks to a breather when Mark Henry knocks Kane of the top rope when he goes for a flying clothesline on MVP. This leads to the heels, surprisingly, targeting and isolating Kane from Rey. Quick tags keep the Big Red Machine trapped in the wrong corner as MVP and Kennedy wear him down. Kenedy hit the Green Bay Plunge and covers but MVP breaks it up wanting the glory for himself. As they argue, Kane recovers and clotheslines them both down hard before tagging in his partner. Rey's exciting offense throws Kennedy and MVP completely and the US champion finds himself rana'd to the outside. Kennedy eats a dropkick which sets him up for the 619. It connects and Rey is about to cover when Stephanie McMahon distracts the referee and Mark Henry attacks Kane. As Rey gets up to complain, Chavo Guerrero rushes the ring and puts him back down with a tornado DDT. Chavo climbs the ropes an comes of with a frogsplash. Kennedy comes round just as Chavo exits the ring again and rolls Rey up with a handful of tights for the pinfall. [I]Ken Kennedy & MVP def. Rey Mysterio & Kane by pinfall at 15:43[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Kane continues to brawl with Mark Henry as MVP exits with Stephanie. Kennedy celebrates as if he had won singlehandedly and Chavo gets back into the ring. He continues to beat on Rey, kicking him in the ribs and hitting him with the Three Amigos. Kennedy watches for a moment, shrugs his shoulders and continues celebrating as the show closes. [U]Cole[/U]: What is Chavo doing?! [U]JBL[/U]: Chavo said things weren't over Michael Cole! [B]RATING = C+[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C+[/B] (The importance of overness shows here as a good few were pretty underexposed in PR and it showed in the ratings. Mamaluke and Guido show that working as a team isn't the same as working as opponents. Or have you already announced it and I just read over it?[/QUOTE] Cheers, I don't know if I'll always do posters (after that can of worms was spilled elsewhere!) but I enjoy messing about with graphics, they help with the boredom at times and I was pleased with how that one looked. :) S&M are getting over now, pairing Shelley with Miz seemed nuts to begin with but its working out. I always loved Jericho giving people incorrect names, "Raisin" was easily my favourite. Only some shrewd cheating from La Resistance prevent the heels from being quickly steamrolled. The Bulldogs step in and use their technical abilty, and some cheerleading from Nattie at ringside, to ground the French Phenoms. Smith locks Grenier in a Texas Cloverleaf which almost gets the win until Shelton Benjamin springboards in from the outside to break it up. Things degenerate into a large melee as the referee loses control. he simply gives up and focuses on Justice Smith and Charlie Hass, who are the legal men. Hass puts Smith down with a DDT before stopping to mock Cornette who smiles as Smith recovers and spins Hass round into a powerslam for the win. [I]Shock & Awe & The Bulldogs def. Hardy falls and Carlito jumps on him tattooing him with the mic. Soon both men are brawling on the canvas until Hardy starts to make a comeback. Carlito decides that disretion is the better part of valour and bails having made his point. The two men stare down as the champ backs up the ramp and through the curtain. Cena refuses to give up though even after sustaining several doubleteams from the heels. A mistake by Dykstra allows Cena to finally make the hot tag to Burchill who comes in fring on a cylinders. Dykstra is put down hard, followed by Nitro who is thrown through the ropes into Melina. A C4 on Kenny draws cheers from the crowd as well as the pin. [I]John Cena & Burchill def. Johnny Nitro & Kenny Dykstra by pinfall at 16:10 (Cena and Burchill have good chemistry. Cena looked good. Burchill was tiring towards the end.)[/I] [B]RATING = B+[/B][/CENTER] Cena and Burchill barely have time to celebrate when a regrouping Dykstra and Nitro are joined by Orton and Viscera for the attack. The heels pace around the ring as Cena and Burchill try to keep them at bay. Suddenly the crowd erupts as help comes in the form of Ric Flair and JTG! The duo run down, knocking Dykstra to the floor and slide into the ring to join Cena and Burchill. With the odds more even, Orton decides to abort the attack and signals for his team to leave. As the head up the ramp, Cena takes a mic. [U]Cena[/U]: Oh Randy? Randy! Allow me to introduce my next two team mates: JTG and The Nature Boy Ric Flair! Woooo! [B]RATING = C+[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C+[/B] (Grrr, I thought it was worth more than C+ but apparently not. Hopefully Santino will work out, I'd hate to have to drop him like a stone. A few more shots to the gut by Finlay leaves Storm rolling in agony on the canvas. The Irishman simply walks away, the job done. [B]RATING = C+[/B] Meanwhile, the ECW Originals, Dreamer, Ball and Stevie are talking backstage. The are rudely interrupted by an assault from the Corporation headed by Shane McMahon. Umaga, Striker and Masters have the advantage of surprise and quickly beat the trio down busting them open and leaving them down and out. Once he is satisfied, Shane McMahon signals for the troops to leave. [B]RATING = C-[/B] Vince is elsewhere with Batista. [U]Vince[/U]: Well, tht looks like three who WON'T be helping out Paul Heyman... Next up Rhyno! Ready to put him out of action big guy? [U]Batista[/U]: Of course, he's gonna wish he'd stayed in whatever bush league he was in and never even thought about coming back to ECW! Batista had the strength advantage but Rhyno's animalistic fury overshadowed even The Animal's aggresive streak. Batista was taken aback by the ferocity of the attack and twice retreated to the outisde to gather himself. Eventually, goaded by Vince McMahon, he re-entered the fray. His height advantage enabled him to keep Rhyno at arms length will still hammering down on him but Rhyno would not give up. At one point both men had the same idea and charged into one another. As both men lay out the referee began his count. Only Rhyno's tenacity and Vince McMahon's nagging brought both men round in time. Umaga and Armando Estrada came wandering down to join Vince and now Rhyno had to keep his eye on four people at once. The Samoan Bulldozer stalked Rhyno from outisde while an unseen Vince McMahon grabbed a chair. When everyone was in place, Armadno climbed the apron and distracted the referee while Umaga also jumped up to attract Rhyno, Vince threw the chair to Batista who blasted his opponent on the back of the head. The job done, everyone dropped to the flor to allow the referee to make the three count. [I]Batista def. Rhyno by pinfall at 13:58 (Batista looked good)[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Vince calls for the troops to finish the job and Masters, Striker and Shane run out to help. They are stopped in their tracks when CM Punk and Elijah Burke are led out by Bobby Lashley. All three rush into the ring and surround the fallen Rhyno, daring the heels to come and get him. Paul Heyman's voice comes over the PA. [U]Heyman[/U]: Vince, allow me to introduce four of the five men who will represent me at Survivor Series. Rhyno is helped to his feet by Lashley. [U]Heyman[/U]: The Man Beast, Rhyno. The Staright Edge Superstar, CM Punk. The Experience, Elijah Burke. And the ECW Champion, The Dominator, Bobby Lashley. Now I know the match isn't until Survivor Series but, if your Corporation feels up to it, they're welcome to try my boys out right now! Vince pauses for a second before calling his men off. Estrada loses control of Umaga though who charges the ring. Lashley Spears him down and Punk and Burke throw him back over. The Savage roars in anger as Masters and Striker struggle to drag him away. Yang come of with the Yang Time to Mamaluke and Guido quickly drops his complaint in favour of rlling his former partner up for the pin. [I]Guido def. Lacey cheered her men on as they isolated and worked over the back of Paul London. London was fading as Roderick Strong hammered him with a series of Backbreakers and Aries came down with a diving elbow to his lower back. A powerbomb attempt by Aries on London was countered into a headscissor, giving the Hooligans the break they needed. Kendrick tagged in fresh and was too much for the heels to contain. A Lef Turn at Alberqueque on Strong gave the faces the win. [I]The Hooligans def. Aries & Strong by pinfall at 14:12 (Paul London looked good)[/I] [B]RATING = C[/B][/CENTER] The Hooligans celebrate when they are attacked by The Naturals. Both teams brawl around the ring and spill out to ringside. They continue to brawl into the crowd and out to the back out of sight. [B]RATING = C[/B] As the ruckus dies down, Chris Jericho's music hits and the Smackdown champion makes his way down to the ring. He takes a mic and turns to face the entrance. [U]Jericho[/U]: Edge. You earned your shot. Congratulations kiddo. I was quite impressed with your performance, it got me thinking: Maybe you can do it, maybe you can beat me and take back the title. But then I remembered, I am Chris Jericho, the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah! I'm not going to just pack up and roll over for you Edge. I'm at 100% and firing on all cylinders. No injuries for you to exploit. I won't be competing in a cage match before hand either. I know I'm going to be defending my belt against you and have time to prepare. [U]Jericho[/U]: You want your title do you? [U]Edge[/U]: Of course I do... Jericho cracks the title off of Edge's head as sections of the crowd cheer and laugh. The champ exits the ring smiling as Edge holds his head and scowls. [B]RATING = B+[/B] JBL and Cole hype the main event match: MVP & Kennedy v Kane & Rey Mysterio. The heel's evetually get their head into the game thanks to a breather when Mark Henry knocks Kane of the top rope when he goes for a flying clothesline on MVP. This leads to the heels, surprisingly, targeting and isolating Kane from Rey. Quick tags keep the Big Red Machine trapped in the wrong corner as MVP and Kennedy wear him down. Kenedy hit the Green Bay Plunge and covers but MVP breaks it up wanting the glory for himself. As they argue, Kane recovers and clotheslines them both down hard before tagging in his partner. Rey's exciting offense throws Kennedy and MVP completely and the US champion finds himself rana'd to the outside. Kennedy eats a dropkick which sets him up for the 619. It connects and Rey is about to cover when Stephanie McMahon distracts the referee and Mark Henry attacks Kane. As Rey gets up to complain, Chavo Guerrero rushes the ring and puts him back down with a tornado DDT. Chavo climbs the ropes an comes of with a frogsplash. Kennedy comes round just as Chavo exits the ring again and rolls Rey up with a handful of tights for the pinfall. [I]Ken Kennedy & MVP def. Rey Mysterio & Kane by pinfall at 15:43[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] Kane continues to brawl with Mark Henry as MVP exits with Stephanie. Kennedy celebrates as if he had won singlehandedly and Chavo gets back into the ring. He continues to beat on Rey, kicking him in the ribs and hitting him with the Three Amigos. Kennedy watches for a moment, shrugs his shoulders and continues celebrating as the show closes. [U]Cole[/U]: What is Chavo doing?! [U]JBL[/U]: Chavo said things weren't over Michael Cole! [B]RATING = C+[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = C+[/B] (The importance of overness shows here as a good few were pretty underexposed in PR and it showed in the ratings.
