I'm surprised how much I'm getting into ECW as really I was never a big fan of the original and hardly watch the new incarnation either but it seems to be working out. I'm trying to get reader interaction beyond just match predictions (though they can be fun too). The polls give me an idea of what's working and what's not and also allow the lurkers some involvement without them having to leave the shadows they love so much. I don't want to be one of the WWE diaries that end up bearing no resemblance to WWE. There's nothing wrong with that, everyone has their own ideas of how things should go, but its not what I'm trying to acheive. This is WWE My Way (Frank Sinatra! :p ) but its still WWE. The Alpha Male immediately seizes his opportunity to close out the match and slam Hardy into the ring steps before rolling him back into the ring. CorVon props Hardy in the corner before levelling him with a Pounce and rolling him up for the pinfall. [I]Marcus CorVon def. It shows HHH and Shawn Michaels reforming DX with the slogan "The Fellowship of the Ring", followed by images of HHH Pedigreeing Kane and The Undertaker with the Slogan "The Two Towers", the final screen is blank with only the words "The Return of the King". [B]RATING = C+[/B] Carlito has words before his match. [U]Carlito[/U]: Tonight its time to correct a mistake made last night at Survivor Series. The referee should never have counted that pin on Carlito. Matt Hardy needed every advantage he could get. Tonight will be different. Tonight Carlito will take back his title and, once more, all will be cool with the world! Very back and forth with each man enjoying periods of control before a mistake allowed their opponent to take over. Carlito went for the Backstabber but Hardy grabbed the ropes allowing his challenger to fall harmlessly to the canvas. This gave V1 the chance he needed and he caught Carlito with the Side Effect as he tried to get back up. A Leg Drop from the second turnbuckle further weakened Carlito who then fell prey to the Twist of Fate to give Hardy his first successful defense. [I]Matt Hardy def. Carlito by pinfall to retain the WWE Raw Heavyweight Title at 15:34 (Carlito was tiring at the end)[/I] [B]RATING = B-[/B][/CENTER] Carlito is beside himself and rolls out the ring with a look of disbelief on his face. Hardy is handed his title belt and he stand in the ring holding it aloft as the crowd cheers his victory. The cheers turn tio gasps however as Randy Orton slides in the ring and takes the champion out with the RKO. The show closes with Orton standing over the fallen Hardy smirking to boos from the crowd. [B]RATING = A[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = B-[/B] (Looks like there isn't much mileage in Carlito v Hardy beyond what there has been which is good since Orton is stepping up to the plate anyway :) Otherwise I'm pleased with the matches. Umaga... well I'd be crazy to say I wanted to face that human wrecking ball but then part of me would also enjoy the challenge. CM Punk has undoubtedly proven that he has what it takes to reach the top, I might have a strength advantage over him but he has the ability to get around that and give me a tough match. And then there's Batista. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn;t look forward to facing him again. Any chance to beat on him is one I have to take on principle. But he too has the ability to make it to the top, I only wish he would fight fair for once. The attacks seem to have more success for him and he gets his man onto one knee before felling him with a Shining Wizard. Punk cover but The Animal kicks out at the last second. Batista comes back with his explosive power and clubs Punk down. A spinebuster only gets two as Punk somehow kicks out. Corporate habits die hard though and Batista is soon joined by Masters and Striker. The Masterpiece tries to get in the ring but the referee stops him. As he does so Striker slides in from the other side. He tries to attack Punk but eats a dropkick and falls to the outside. Batista makes his move and grabs Punk and drives him into the mat with a Batistabomb for the pinfall. [I]Batista def. Its hard to focus on more than a couple of the women at a time with everything else that happens on Raw and, becasue of that, some haven't gotten the exposure I would prefer with Mickie maybe being the main victim. But she's still young and has ability so I wouldn't be surprised to see the WWE Women's Title around her waist before too long. EDIT: Jeez that sounded like something from the Ross Report! I should also add that Mickie James is "a good hand". Buy my BBQ Sauce! :)

Edge showed me a lot more fight than I thought he had in him. We went toe to toe for a solid hour in what has to be one of, if not the, match of our careers. Of course I'm angry I lost but I chose the stipulations. It was my idea to make it an Iron Man Match and I lost. There's no point in me stewing about it though that won't achieve anything. All I can do know is focus on getting back into the title hunt and winning the gold again. But for now, the spotlight is on Edge and... well... he deserves it. Some are surprised that Credible managed to keep his job, but management are keen to show that card position does not dictate punishments. - Matt Hardy was late for a scheduled appearance this week. The Raw champion has been issued a warning. Some are suprised that Hardy should be so careless so soon after being put at the head of the brand. - Joey Styles has returned from suspension and resumed his role as announcer for ECW. - WWE are reporting that they have parted ways with UK performer Majik. - TNA have announced they are looking to expand their roster. Glenn Gilberti, formerly of WCW and TNA in its early years, is reporteded to have signed a deal for an undisclosed amount. Indy worker The Messiah has also been linked to the company. Orton noticably has his own vocal support from a section of the crowd though the majority are still behind Bookerman. Orton twice has to escape defeat by dodging the Axe Kick and elbowing his way out of the Bookend. As the match progresses, Orton seems to get stronger and he secures the victory after countering another Bookend attempt with the RKO. [I]Randy Orton def. Booker T by pinfall at 14:42[/I] [B]RATING = A[/B][/CENTER] Orton poses on the turnbuckle as Booker T gets back up to his feet. He is quickly knocked down again though as La Resistance take the opportunity to attack him. Orton casually watches the two on one beatdown until it is broken up by Goldust and Matt Hardy. As La Resistance are beaten off, Orton decides to try his luck but Hardy turns in time to see him. Orton stops in his tracks, casually drops to the mat and rolls to the outside. [B]RATING = C-[/B] Orton backs up the ramp while Hardy and Goldust check on Booker T. The champ looks up and locks eyes with his challenger accross the ramp way as the show closes. [B]RATING = B+[/B] [B]FINAL RATING = B-[/B] (I'll take that as some matches really underperformed. I figured Booker T would make a good match with Orton and, thankfully, I wasn't wrong :) )

The Samoan Bulldozer drags him over for a banzai drop in the corner as Striker and Masters tangle with Richards and Mahoney. Umaga squashes Rhyno and secures the win for the Cororation. A quick brawl between the two teams ends with The Naturals bailing to the outside. The champions leave with Angel yelling threats at the faces in the ring. The odds were against the faces and the end came after Strong attacked AJ at ringside while Lacey and Stephanie distracted the referee. Kane gets more and more angry as the heels taunt him but they get sloppy and Rey wriggles free of Kennedy and makes the tag to the Big Red Machine. Kanedy responds by immediately tagging Chavo and bailing on him. Chavo watches as Kennedy backs up the ramp shaking his head before turning round into a Chokeslam with AUTHORITY! Kane then tags Rey back in and Gorilla Presses him onto Chavo for the pin! [I]Kane & Rey Mysterio def. Ken Kennedy & Chavo Guerrero by pinfall at 16:14 (Kennedy looked good)[/I] [B]RATING = C+[/B][/CENTER] The show closes with Rey on Kane's shoulders celebrating the win.
