If the above is true..... (celebrates) But I wonder what would happen to ECW?
If they did away with the brand extension, while making three networks absolutely ecstatic, it would probably require them to flush half their roster. Not gonna happen. The quarterly charge-off for that many terminated/bought out contracts would be horrendous for one thing. For another, they'd run the risk of overexposing their top shelf talent (5 hours a week of Cena, Batista, Khali, etc?). AND, they'd have a hell of a time sorting out titles since they've already had the 'Champion of Champions' match fairly recently. Nah, hopefully they'll come to the conclusion that new stars need to be made and then maybe they'll watch some Attitude era footage and remember how to do that.

Here's the thing: during the build up to this year's Wrestlemania they essentially dropped the roster split thing and , for the most part, the big names were working *at least* two of the three brands. The ratngs weren't that much better. Raw was a low 4..and cynics would say the bump came from having Trump involved..and Smackdown and ECW were essentially the same. Tend to agree with Remi: new stars (and better stories) are the real longterm solution. Edning the brand split isn't the answers. Plus..let's face it....Raw is already ridiculously stacked...if people weren't tuning in to see Cena, Kennedy, Booker, Orton, and Lashley then it probably won't make a difference if you add Batista, Khali, Punk and the Big Daddy V to the mix.
