Rhino Umaga (c) vs. Cameron Vessey for the CWB Title I don't see the upset happening. The samoan sewage regression or whatever they call it will prevail. Masked Cougar vs. Thomas "Trademark" Morgan When Tommy Morgan loses it makes me sad... The Gauge Bros. vs. Bob Casey & Cal Sanders This will probably be a really good match, but The Gauge Bros. are a few levels above their competition in this one. Dazzlin' Dave Diamond vs. Brady Prince Brady Prince ain't got no chance when he ain't got his buddy to tag out to. Dazzlin' Dave'll eat him up and spit him out and hopefully the real tag champs will lay in a few shots en route to DDD's victory. On a side note; I love the new logo and belts.

BEANTOWN RUMBLE Saturday Week 1 March 2009 114 fans at Biker's Paradise in Boston, MA Huge crowd tonight (for us anyways) as word of the quality Championship Wrestling from Boston shows is spreading. INTERNET EXCLUSIVE!: A video is shown of Sudden Impact defeating The Tennessee Outlaws for the CWB Tag Team Titles at last month's BANNED IN BOSTON show. F+ Dazzlin' Dave Diamond d. Brady Prince An ok opening match with DDD trying to get some revenge on Prince for costing him his meal ticket in the CWB Tag Titles. Prince is a much better worker than Diamond (sorry Beeks) and sold well for the brawling offense. Prince looked to win with a tornado DDT but the referee got bumped. This allowed DDD to grab his trusty Jack Daniels bottle and crown Prince with it for the win. E+ Matthew and Greg Gauge come to the ring. Greg calls for the mic: Greg: "When I saw the main event for tonight's show, I was sickened. Literally sickened to my stomach. Like serious, I'm talking I threw up a little in my mouth. Cameron Vessey gets a title shot while Greg and Matt...the greatest young prospects on the scene today...international superstars...are put in an early card tag match against Capt. Charisma and his sidekick Boy Slumber? Matthew: "Greg has beaten Vessey and he had to cheat to get by me. Apparently, that's enough for a title shot. Enjoy it while you can Cameron, because we're going to enjoy watching that Samoan take you apart!" E+ The Gauge Bros. d Bob Casey/Cal Sanders Say what you want about Casey and Sanders but they showed AMAZING chemistry as a tag team and they definitely earned a spot on the roster with that alone. The Gauges worked like a well oiled machine here and this was a very good, classic style tag match. The Gauge Bros debuted the Shotgun Blast finisher (Dudley Death Drop) and pinned Sanders for the win. D- Thomas Morgan d. Masked Cougar This was a rematch from the 2007 Plumelli Cup and it was just as good as it's predecessor. Cougar has expressed a genuine enjoyment wrestling in Boston and we may extend him a formal offer to come in. Morgan needed this strong win as he's been fading into the background a bit with Rhino taking the spotlight. Just a solid, well wrestled match with a nice mix of Cougar's highflying and Morgans mat expertise. Morgan wins with a rolling cradle and not his finisher to give this match a chance to run if Cougar signs a deal. D Andy Hartigan brings out Cameron Vessey for a few words about his main event match. Andy: "Cameron, you've had an amazing little run so far here at Championship Wrestling from Boston. Tonight you get to challenge for the coveted CWB Title." Vessey: "I'm really excited. I know the Gauges have been mouthing off saying I don't deserve this. All I can do is go out there and win the title. Win, lose or draw though, I will show everyone I deserve to be in main event matches" E Rhino Umaga (w/ Thomas Morgan) d. Cameron Vessey to retain the CWB Title An excellent 20 minute match that saw Umaga give a lot of offense to his young challenger, keeping him strong. Cameron has great fighting spirit that he must've learned from his Dad and Uncle's travels through Japan. Cam went on a flurry and got carried away attempting a Vessey Driver on the Samoan champion. Umaga was too much for Vessey to hoist up properly though and he ended up eating a stiff knee knocking him out for the pin. D+ As Umaga and Morgan celebrate, Matthew and Greg Gauge charge the ring putting the boots to Vessey. They lift him up and hit him with a devestating Shotgun Blast, leaving the second generation star laying in the ring. They smugly celebrate over his fallen body. E Overall Show: D+ Notes: Without a doubt, the best show we've had so far. A good attendance and pretty much every match delivering or over-delivering. Cameron's match with Umaga was as good as any title challenge we've seen and I was thrilled with the resulting angle as the younger guys are getting a little spotlight. Thanks to everyone for the kind words on the belts and logo. Once again, it was all GBASALMON who created them. I just did the easy part of offering suggestions. So please let him know you enjoy them if you do!
I, Beeker of the impending (possibly) Muppets, reads and supports this prediction. Seen as the most prestigious wrestling company in the world right now, boasting the talents of The Stone Family, Johnny Bloodstone and many others, NOTBPW is looking to expand out of their North American base. Oddly enough, they've decided to keep their main title called the "Canadian Title". Not sure if that will fly Globally. Rhino Umaga vs. Frankie Dee for the CWB Title Frankie is riding high after his win over Morgan, but not high enough to avoid being the next victim of the savage samoan aggression. The Gauge Bros vs. Cameron Vessey/Casey Valentine I actually had a Vessey/Valentine team before and they have good potential. THE WHITES OF THEIR EYES Saturday Week 2, April 2009 116 fans at Biker's Paradise in Boston, MA "All Business" Bobby Thomas d. Daredevil Aero This match was an intro for both men but moreso a competitive squash to showcase Thomas. Thomas has a decent amount of aerial skill so it really helped here. A very good debut for both men as Thomas wins with the Specialist Touch after coming off the ropes and surprising Aero, who was bent over for a backdrop. D- Casey Valentine and Cameron Vessey come to the ring: Valentine: "Gauge Bros, ever since we started in CWB you guys have been thorns in our sides. What you did to Cam last week was inexcusable. You two are a great tag team but you haven't met the likes of us yet. All second generation superstars and we are a team for the next millenium." Vessey: "I'm not known for my skill with words so I'm just going to let my wrestling skill do the talking for me." E The Gauge Bros. and The Millennials fight to a no contest This one seemed tough to beat for the match of the night. Just an all out match for 15 minutes with no let up. This could be a money feud down the line so I'm taking things slow with them at first. The action spilled outside the ring and finally Chad Brent had to call for the bell as he lost total control of the match. D+ Jesse Christian d. Mark Smart A total 6 minute squash as Smart has been badmouthing me lately. Christian needed a quick little match to re-establish his presence after taking a month off after the grueling feud with Davids. D- Jesse calls for the mic as the crowd chants his name: "Thank you. I don't have much to say other than I don't care who wins tonight. I like Frankie Dee but I'm not going to have his back...I have had that backfire on me already. Umaga is a great champion and a helluva wrestler. I'm here to say that Jesse Christian is back in contention and he wants his CWB Title!" D- Rhino Umaga (w/ Thomas Morgan) went to a time limit draw with Frankie Dee in 20:00 Just when you think you've got your match of the night, these two go out and have a Championship Wrestling from Boston classic!! Umaga showed a lot of his decent wrestling skills which can get overlooked because of his awesome brawling. Dee hung with the champ every step of the way and Rhino gave the challenger a good number of near falls to really get the crowd amped. The finish came with Umaga fighting out of the Dragon Sleeper and then hitting Dee with the Rhino Charge, knocking himself silly in the process. The crowd counted down the time limit as they struggled to their feet. A standing ovation. C Thomas Morgan slides into the ring and starts beating on an exhausted Dee. From out of the back comes Jesse Christian who chases off the two heels. He then glances, almost glares at Frankie Dee and leaves the ring without shaking his hand or helping him to his feet. E Overall Show: D+ Notes: OK, THIS is our best show to date. I was really thrilled as even the squash matches were top notch for our little company. The tag match really got me excited about tag team wrestling in Boston again. Bomber and I have already begun formulating some tag ideas that we're going to debut at the next event.

MAIN EVENT FOR TOP OF THE HUB SIGNED! After the events of THE WHITES OF THEIR EYES, CWB matchmaker Andy Hartigan decided to, once and for all, settle who is the number one contender for the CWB Title. Both former champion Jesse Christian and hot upstart Frankie Dee can both provide logical reasons for getting a match against CWB Champion Rhino Umaga...so now they will have to fight it out between them. It's a rare match of two fan favorite wrestlers as Jesse Christian battles Frankie Dee with a shot at the CWB Title hanging in the balance! TOP OF THE HUB #1 Contender's Match: Jesse Christian vs. Frankie Dee CWB Tag Team Titles: Sudden Impact (c) vs. Tennessee Outlaws "Bullet" Bob Casey vs. Greg Gauge Team Quest (Reckless/Aero) vs. Love Em & Leave Em (Romeo Romero/California Love Machine) w/Vita

#1 Contender's Match: Jesse Christian vs. Frankie Dee - a minor upset perhaps but I like the storyline of Frankie Dee chasing after Umaga and Morgan. Also I don't think Christian needs to be in the title hunt to be considered a Main Eventer. A win here solidifies Dee's Main Event Credentials. CWB Tag Team Titles: Sudden Impact (c) vs. Tennessee Outlaws - I actually doubt the Outlaws win here, but how can I possible vote against The Dazzling Diamond? I can't. So I won't. Go Diamond! "Bullet" Bob Casey vs. Greg Gauge - I know I shouldn't make this connection but "Bullet" Bob might as well be Armstrong and he didn't win past 1982 so I'm going with Gauge because he has WAY more upside. (Although he also won't be in the fed longterm, probably, sadly.) Team Quest (Reckless/Aero) vs. The Heartbreak Express (Romeo Romero/California Love Machine) w/Vita - I dig CLM for some odd reason and Romeo Romeo is right there so that's ok too. And I'll happily root against XDW pretty much permanently.

TOP OF THE HUB Sunday Week 3 May 2009 192 fans at Biker's Paradise in Boston, MA Wow, a record crowd for Championship Wrestling from Boston. There is a murmur in the crowd about some rumors regarding Jesse Christian. Vita comes to the ring: "People of this dirty little town caled Boston. It is your pleasure for me to introduce my new tag team. A team of such dashing and derring do. The best looking team that none of you horrible warthogs they call Boston women will ever get to experience. They are California Love Machine and of course, Romeo Romero...the team of Love Em & Leave Em!" E- Love Em & Leave Em d. Team Quest Actually, not a bad little opener. Romeo and Machine work well together and CLM is great working the crowd. Not so much in the ring, but Romeo is decent enough. Reckless and Daredevil made a good showing too as a team with the highflying aero balanced with Xavier's brawling.E+ Greg Gauge comes to the ring for his match. He's accompanied by brother Matthew and calls for the mic: "Once again, the complete awesomeness that is the Gauge Bros. are being held back by Championship Wrestling from Boston. Well, that time is OVER. Tonight I'm facing the Bullet and after I beat him, my brother and I are requesting...no, DEMANDING a Tag Team Title shot. Sudden Impact, if you can even defend the titles...we'll be watching close." E+ Greg Gauge (w/ Matthew Gauge) d. "Bullet" Bob Casey Excellent match as Gauge definitely has "it" and Casey is about as good a worker as we have in CWB. This one went about 12 minutes and Gauge ended up winning clean with the Proton Lock. D+ Andy Hartigan interviews Sudden Impact about their title defense tonight. He brings up the subject of the Gauge Bros. title challenge: Prince: "Yeah I heard them coming out here and demanding a shot...that's all well and good but tonight we have The Tennessee Outlaws to worry about. Two of the biggest badasses in the sport and our rivals for years. The Gauge Bros. are a good young team but they're going to have to prove themselves and stand the test of time. Get in line kinds and you'll get your shot." E- Sudden Impact d. The Tennessee Outlaws to retain the CWB Tag Team Titles About what you'd expect from these two teams. Seperately they seem to be able to have good matches with other teams but together they are just so-so. Odd, considering their long rivalry. Pretty basic in it's execution with Impact winning with the Vegamatic. E The Outlaws clear out and Prince and Graham celebrate their title defense. Greg and Matt Gauge sneak out of the back with two big paint cans. Before the champs know what hit them, they are blindsided and knocked unconcious with the cans. Greg signals to his brother and both men start PAINTING A YELLOW STREAK DOWN THE BACKS OF THE CHAMPIONS! Gauge screams at Prince "you don't want to face us, here, now be the cowards you are!" E- Frankie Dee d. Jesse Christian in 18:00 to become the #1 Contender to the CWB Title Jesse wasn't too pleased with doing the job here but it was the way it had to be. I was a little upset with him as he seemed to sandbag Frankie a bit and not give as good a match as I think he could have. Dee looked strong though and pinned Christian clean with the Shinnanju Kick. Dee helped Christian to his feet and the two men shake hands and embrace.D- Jesse gets to his feet and pauses in the ring. He calls for the microphone: "I don't know how many of you know this but tonight...well, tonight is my last night in Championship Wrestling from Boston. I signed a contract with the Supreme Wrestling Federation (boos) "I know, I know. I just want to thank you all for this amazing turn out tonight and for all your support. I want to thank Andy and the Bomber and every wrestler in the back that I faced during my time here. The year I held the Boston Title is one of the highlights of my career and I can promise you...you'll see me again one day. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!" E+ Overall Show: D- Notes: I was shocked by the turnout so there must have been some leaking of the news of Christian's leaving. He needed a bigger promotion as he really wanted to make a run at the big money late in his career. I can't blame him for that and at he (begrudgingly) put over Dee clean on the way out. We're in good shape with Frankie, Rhino, Morgan, The Gauges and Vessey and Valentine. I'm excited for the future and for next month's Gene Plumelli Cup.

THE GENE PLUMELLI CUP TOURNAMENT 2009 Sunday Week 3 June 2009 161 fans at Biker's Paradise in Boston, MA The show opens with Dazzlin' Dave Diamond coming to the ring: "What ya'll are looking at is the reigning Plumelli Cup Champion. Triple D! Dazzlin' Dave! Now, while I don't have a lot in common with some eye-talian, I do like to win and the money that it does bring me. You are about to see the first ever back to back tournament win in this promotion!" E Masked Cougar d. Dazzlin' Dave Diamond to advance One of DDD's better matches here as Cougar really carried him. Dave jumped on the masked man early and got some heat on him but Cougar came back with some nice fire and wins it with I Am Cougar, Hear Me Roar. Good opener. D- Thomas Morgan leads "All Business" Bobby Thomas to the ring: "As you all know, Canadians have taken over pro wrestling and I am so glad to see one of my brothers from North of the Border come down to help me kick some American ass. I hope it comes down to you and me, Bobby so we can show these idiots how it's really done!" E- Bobby Thomas d. Tempest Appleby to advance Another decent, albeit short, match (about 8 minutes). Appleby never looks bad in matches and might need to be repackaged a bit down the line to become a player. Thomas looked great and should be a real difference maker once he gets to the main events. D- Greg Gauge: "Tonight. in this tournament in this God forsaken hellhole called Boston, Greg Gauge is going to show what greatness really is. Cameron Vessey, I've beaten you before and I will do it again. I only wish my brother Matthew wasn't in Japan tonight so he could share in my victory celebration!" E+ Cameron Vessey d. Greg Gauge to advance after outside interference from Sudden Impact One of the early favorites eliminated in a shocking surprise as Prince and Graham took the opportunity to get some payback for their yellow painting! A solid match between two kids that can really go. It also furthered the issue between them without giving away anything too conclusive. Vessey wins with the Vessey Driver after Prince nailed Gauge. D Andy Hartigan is in the ring for an interview with #1 contender Frankie Dee: Hartigan: "Frank, tonight you are once again in position to take home the CWB Championship. You and Rhino Umaga have had some of the best battles this promotion has ever seen and a lot of fans are looking at you to finally defeat the champion tonight." Dee: "I can feel it, Andy. I can feel that my time is coming and I think tonight that destiny is going to come true. I will fight with honor and when I win the title I will carry it with pride and respect." E Thomas Morgan d. "Bullet" Bob Casey to advance These two never fail to have a good match and always have great chemistry with each other. Morgan's old school heel plays well with the blue collar, workhorse style of Casey and his perseverance is getting him over with the Boston fans. Morgan wins with Eminent Domain. D Bobby Thomas d. Cameron Vessey to advance to the finals Thomas made the young wrestler look good here even getting him away from a brawling style to wrestle a more technical match. Vessey is almost there yet, thanks to his short tours with PGHW and BHOTWG but he is still improving and will for some time. Thomas wins it with Tornado Facecrusher. D Hartigan gets on the house mic: Hartigan: "We're almost all the way through the tournament and it's been a great one, hasn't it Bomber? Next up the match to decide who goes to the finals against All Business Bobby Thomas. Masked Cougar and Thomas Morgan have met twice before, once even in the Plumelli Cup tourney in '07. Cougar has yet to beat the wily Canadian but with so much on the line, can he pull the win out tonight?!" E- Masked Cougar d. Thomas Morgan to advance to the finals Good match as these two work well together. Morgan knows how to get the heel heat and Cougar is great at selling, even with the mask on. Cougar wins when he backbridges into a pinning combo out of Morgan's Eminent Domain. D Rhino Umaga comes to the ring by himself. He yanks the house mic out of Andy Hartigan's hand. Rhino: "I don't need you to hold this mic for me and I don't need a mouthpiece. I know that all of you idiots think I'm some kind of Samoan savage fresh out of a tree and into that ring. I'm not playing into your stereotypes. I'm an athlete and I'm the champion. The best wrestler in Boston. And whether it's Jesse Christian, Frankie Dee or anyone else, until I am beaten in the middle of the ring there's not a damn thing you can do about it. That's right, not only do I possess the brawn...I've got the brains to back it up. If you think you can beat me, then step up and try me." D Masked Cougar d. Bobby Thomas to win the 2009 Gene Plumelli Cup Tournament Awesome match in a classic battle of styles. The high flyer vs the mat based technician. Thomas does have some aerial skills though and pulled out an impressive leg drop from the second rope for a nearfall. Masked Cougar wins the whole thing with the High Rise Cougar Pounce. D+ Rhino Umaga d. Frankie Dee to retain the CWB Title Another great match from these two but not up to last month's donnybrook. Dee is playing the challenger who comes within a hair's breadth of taking the title but comes up short. Dee may be a lightweight but he fights a stiff, never say die style that gives the impression he's about 40 lbs heavier than he is. Rhino wins with a powerbomb into a pin. D+ Overall show: D Notes: Good turnout tonight and a solid show. Every match was good and the two main events definitely stepped it up a notch. I was hoping for a C- or C match from the title match but it was still a great effort. The fans all seemed to go home happy and there are some new directions for the company in the wake of the "Christian Era" coming to a close.

I agree...the Christian Era was a pivitol point in the growth of the company. Very similar to Samoa Joe's long title reign in ROH. Christian basically carried us on his back for two years and his title reign really allowed the company to be built around him. Now it's looking like the "Rhino Umaga Era" which seems to be the stepping up a level in the quality of title matches. It should be fun to see what the next real era in CWB will be.
