"BREAK DOWN THE WALLS" was flashed at us more then a few times in the promo last night.. And King bassically told us it's next monday.

I just wish WWE hadn't tainted it all by dragging it out and then basically commercialising it with the shirts and then wrecking it with the mag and King's apparent knowledge of the goings on. That could have all come in the wake of his return so they could keep the illegit feel to it all and make his return a nice event (it still will be and I guess they want to flagpost it to spike ratings but I still hate it anyway!). Now he's just another WWE star who is coming back after some time away rather than some outside rebel challenging what WWE has become in his eyes. :(

What I think is funny is the fit Stephanie McMahon was throwing on how "the internet spoiled his return" even though they gave it away in their own videos. But the most hilarious part... Steph runs the ad and commercial department... which I'm pretty sure is the magazine department as well... I bet she still blames the net for spoiling it even though the company was stupid enough to send their magazine out a week early.

Yes, everyone on the internet or that is a HUGE wrestling fan probably realise's it by now... The regular watcher that doesn't buy the magazine, nor get online to "See the latest spoiler's" are still in the dark I'm betting. His appearance can still be somewhat like it was the last time, interrupting several people (Hopefully Triple H and friends) and telling US that HE is HERE to actually bring ENTERTAINMENT as well as WRESTLING PERFECTION. NO Longer will we have to sit through THESE Boring people, as you start to change "Go Jericho Go!" (that crowd chants with him), and this special moment brings excitement to all that watch's it... Then of course, on the internet we will here how wacked, and "Overdone" it was. Someone will say "That's so 10 years ago" and similar. All wrestling insider stuff will say how Jericho wasn't happy about the way he was brought back (although we all know, it's 99% him that's doing it this way). How "Un-creative it was, to use the *same* gimmick he already did" although the "Matrix" promo's already showed us that it's the same gimmick, but updated, etc. That's my prediction anyways. It's going to be great all over the world, except to the "inside people that know everything".

It's probably better that they spoiled it, maybe even deliberate. I wouldn't bother watching RAW next week otherwise and for fans that do still watch RAW regularly, then it's a big bonus. Besides a good portion of the crowd will probably start chanting for Jericho as soon as RAW gets a few minutes in anyway.

Ransik has a point: Steph is kind of an idiot and the fact that she's complaining about net fans "spoiling it" shows that she doens't really understand what a viral campaign is. The entire purpose of the campaign was to get people on-line to talk about the videos, decipher the clues, etc. If those are the people you ae aiming for, then you can't turn around and complain when your magazine drops a week early and Jericho is on the cover. And chris, while it might not be "spoiled" you can't dismiss that a large portion of the audience won't be suprised because it's just the people on the internet. It's 2007. The net is a major aspect of every form of entertainment. Even so-called "marks" visit wrestling news sites. There's just more access to it. I don't think it ruins anything, but a big chunk of the viewers next Monday will know ahead of time that the returning wrestler is Jericho.

Not only that, but Y2J chants have been going on since the first video aired. My buddy asked me after the second or third video what it was about and I just told him what the video said that I saw on Youtube. I'll tune into RAW for once this week to see Jericho and hope they don't ruin it.

Here's the thing: none of us will likely ever meet them, but they sure do make some nice scapegoats! Anything that fans won't like gets attributed to Steph. Anything that's well received must have been Heyman or Dusty. Then a lot of it is just conjecture - the infamous "crackdown" about internet leaks a couple of years ago - to cover up a slow period in dirtsheet creativity. That thing about the Divas being removed from WWE.com - "We don't know why yet, it wasn't creative's fault, we'll keep you posted" = "We have no idea but people keep asking us, so we're stalling until we can make something up that fits with whatever the final outcome is".

Email, playing online poker, playing online games (such as World of Warcraft or Everquest), Homework (School or Work/work), outside of that, it's a very few minority that I know personally that actually "browse" the internet for any type of news outside of their homepage. Example: Almost everyone at my job has a computer. One person plays EQ, and use's it for email, and that's about it. Won't even go to his guilds websight without alot of pleading. Another guy, he use's it for googling recipes, Email, and possibly (I believe) adult content, lol. Never reads any news outside of "About.com" that he heard about on the Kim Kommando show (spelling?). One of the younger guys, he only use's it for online poker, email, and he actually use's it to pay his bills. Never just browse's or looks up stuff (he claimes). The rest don't hardly use it at all, unless it's to copy/print, wive's use it for email, and possibly work related. Friends I Know around me: The same. That's not to say I believe that's the norm either. But I do think it's not "Unnormal". Meaning, I don't think half the population that watch's TV, is actually active like WE (Browse for information, spoiler's, see what's up with the latest games, movies, etc.) do. I mean, I don't know anyone on this forum, or any of the other one's I use, personally. That tells me something right there.... I can honestly say I'm about the most active person I know (personally) on the computer, including my own family, which had been into computer's way before I even decided to go buy one (I now have three, lol). I'm not saying most people are "ignorant" or anything like that. Heck, it's probably smart not to go browsing around with all the different infections you can give your computer these days. How many people do you know personally that are as active as you are on the computer? Is it like 90% or something, and I'm just stuck here in the dark age's? I'd be quite surprised if it was over 50% to be honest with you... unless you count people that you "Meet" online, then meet later or something. Even then... I doubt it would be 50%, even if it is the "Computer Age".

On YouTube its all over that Jerichos returning, all it takes is one person who missed the promo and wanted to see it, then they post it in there blog, which is transfered onto facebook and myspace. Then everybody knows.

It's like when you said everyone in the military agreed with Iraq because the two people you knew in the service did. Despite your anectdotal evidence, a significant amount of the population spends time on-line on a daily basis. And when you think about the people the WWE is targeting as their audience - males in their ealry 20s - the numbers are probably higher. To answer your question though, almost everyone I know goes on-line fo one reason or another on a daily basis. And those people will all browse around for news about all kinds of things.
