WWF Championship Wrestling Sunday, Week 2, June 1983 Memorial Hall Joplin, Missouri Attendance: 1,000 Vince McMahon Hello everyone and welcome to World Wrestling Federation's Championship Wrestling! I'm Vince McMahon alongside Gorilla Monsoon and we have got a great night of action here for you tonight! Gorilla Monsoon That's right, Vince. Tonight, we're going to see the Wild Samoans defend their WWF World Tag Team Titles against the Invaders! We'll also see both Andre the Giant and the Road Warrior in action! Vince McMahon And you can't forget about our main event of Bob Backlund teaming with Hulk Hogan to take on the Masked Superstar and Sgt. Slaughter! But let's head up to the ring and Howard Finkel for our opening contest. ------ vs. Tito Santana vs. Samula Samula was escorted down to the ring by Captain Lou Albano but this match definitely showcased the talents of Tito Santana. Santana used some good high flying moves within the ring against the power of Samula. Santana picked up a pinfall following the Flying Forearm Smash. Winner: Tito Santana Match Time: 4:57 Match Rating: D ------ A video begins where Don Muraco is standing in front of a blank background holding up an alarm clock. Don Muraco Tick tock, tick tock. Pedro Morales, your time is ticking away. At the end of the month, you have to take on the Magnificent One once more. You couldn't beat me for the title before and you won't do it again. This time there will be no referee saving you from the beating you're going to take. Sure it will be a standard match but I am going to prove once and for all that I am the best Intercontinental Champion ever. The alarm clock starts ringing. Don Muraco Time's up, Pedro. ------ vs. WWF World Tag Team Titles Match The Wild Samoans vs. The Invaders The Samoans were accompanied to the ring by their manager Captain Lou Albano. Albano stroked his goatee outside the ring as the Samoans literally tore into the Invaders. This wasn't too much of a match as Invader 1 was really off his game tonight. Invader 2 seemed to do much of the work inside the ring and was completely overpowered by Afa and Sika. Afa picked up the pinfall following the Samoan Splash for a successful title defense. Winners: The Wild Samoans Match Time: 4:33 Match Rating: D Captain Lou climbed inside the ring and grabbed a microphone from Howard Finkel. Captain Lou Albano That's right, ladies and gentlemen, my Wild Samoans are your winners tonight. Just like they are winners every night! It doesn't matter who faces them, be it the Invaders, the Strongbows, the Soul Patrol or even Jesse Ventura and Superstar Billy Graham. My Samoans will always come out on top. At the end of the month, we're having a big card. If anyone wants to take their shot at the Samoans feel free because my men will be up to the challenge. ------ vs. Charlie Fulton vs. Andre the Giant Was this even a match? As soon as the bell rang, Andre kicked Fulton down and stepped on him a few times before landing the Butt Drop and giving an emphatic win for the Giant as he heads toward another match with Big John Studd at the end of the month. Winner: Andre the Giant Match Time: 0:34 Match Rating: C Following the match, Andre headed up the ramp and made a stop by the announcer's desk. Gorilla Monsoon Andre, it's good to have you up here. You have a very big match coming up against Big John Studd at the end of the month. Can we get a few comments from you? Andre the Giant Big John Studd is just another man. Just like that Charlie Fulton I just beat in the ring. He is nothing compared to a giant. He will learn that at the end of the month. Andre's words are cut off as out walks the Grand Wizard toward the announcer's booth, getting right up in Andre's chest. The Grand Wizard You think you're so tough, Andre? Then how come you haven't been able to body slam my man Big John Studd yet? You haven't earned the money I set out there. It's still waiting for someone to collect it. All you've got to do is body slam my man Big John Studd: an impossible feat. Andre stares down at the Grand Wizard but it's just a distraction as Big John Studd comes from behind Andre! Studd lays a massive shoulder into Andre's leg from behind staggering the giant! Studd lays another kick into the leg and it fells the large Andre! Studd begins stomping on that leg and dropping a knee into it, using his girth to his advantage as Andre cries out in pain and Gorilla Monsoon yells for help. Finally several officials and wrestlers come out and The Grand Wizard and Big John Studd walk away victoriously as Andre lays there by the announcers. ------ While Andre is being attended to, a video begins to play focusing in on the new team arriving here in the WWF: Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood. They are Champions of another organization and they are coming here to prove just how good they are. ------ vs. The Road Warrior vs. Frankie Williams Bobby The Brain Heenan escorted out his Road Warrior to the ring to take on Frankie Williams who was already standing inside the ring. The crowd here in Joplin was awed by the size and power of the Road Warrior with a smiling Bobby Heenan on the outside as the Road Warrior took care of business against Frankie Williams. The Road Warrior continued his undefeated streak as he dropped Frankie with a Shoulder Mounted Suplex and got the pinfall. Winner: The Road Warrior Match Time: 4:33 Match Rating: D ------ The crowd cheers as out walks Bruno Sammartino to the ring! He waves to the fans before sliding inside and being handed a microphone from Howard Finkel. Bruno Sammartino What you wrestling fans saw two weeks ago was a travesty. I made a challenge not for two men and a woman but for one man: Ivan Koloff to meet me inside the ring. Instead what I got was attacked by both Ivan Koloff and The Iron Sheik and Colonel Ninotchka. That is not how we fight within America. We meet you face-to-face and then we beat you. But not only did they do the disservice of a three on one attack but they laid the flag of the U.S.S.R. over my body. That was the ultimate disgrace and will not be taken lightly. Russian Bear, beware the end of the month because it will spell your doom. Bruno dropped the microphone and walked off looking intense. ------ vs. The Masked Superstar and Sgt. Slaughter vs. Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan It's time for our main event. The announcers began the match talking about why this match was made. How the Masked Superstar and Sgt. Slaughter attacked Bob Backlund together and Hulk Hogan made the save. Inside the ring it was truly an even contest with the bad guys using their dastardly cheats while Backlund and Hogan relied on the fans to back them up. Don Kernodle stood in the corner of Superstar and Slaughter. Hogan was taken down and focused on inside the ring while the veteran Backlund could only watch as the Masked Superstar and Sgt. Slaughter tagged in and out as though they were used to teaming up. Hogan, however, wouldn't be pinned! Slaughter dropped Hogan with a backbreaker late and made the cover but Hogan powered out of it and then began Hulking Up! Hogan shrugged off punch after punch from Slaughter and then pointed at him as he got to his feet, wagging that finger. Slaughter tried to punch again but Hogan blocked it and fired back with three shots of his own before whipping Slaughter across the ring and nailing the Big Boot! He cupped his ear to the crowd and was fueled by their cheers before pointing towards Backlund. He cupped his ear again to see what the fans wanted before tagging in the WWF World Heavyweight Champion! Backlund came into the ring and got set behind Slaughter as Slaughter was slowly getting to his feet. With all the focus on Slaughter and Backlund nobody could see the Masked Superstar slip something into his mask! Backlund hooked the Cross Face Chicken Wing on Slaughter and in came the Masked Superstar to break it up with a quick headbutt to the back of Backlund's head! He gave a couple more which knocked Backlund to the mat. The Masked Superstar pulled Slaughter over to his corner and tagged himself in, quickly making the cover and Hogan could only watch as the referee counted the 1-2-3 count! Winners: The Masked Superstar and Sgt. Slaughter Match Time: 9:16 Match Rating: C Following the match, a replay was shown showing where the Masked Superstar slid something into that mask and back in the ring the Masked Superstar clotheslined Hogan off the apron to the floor below! Slaughter slid outside the ring and went at it with Hogan while the Masked Superstar locked the Cobra Clutch on Backlund! It was a melee as the cameras faded to black! Final Rating: C TV Rating: 1.57

WWF Championship Wrestling Sunday, Week 3, June 1983 Veteran's Coliseum Cedar Rapids, Iowa Attendance: 1,000 Vince McMahon Hello everyone and welcome to World Wrestling Federation Championship Wrestling! I'm Vince McMahon along with Gorilla Monsoon and Gorilla we have a very special announcement to kick off WWF action here tonight! Gorilla Monsoon Indeed we do, Vince. It has been decided by the WWF board of directors that we institute a brand new title within the ranks of the World Wrestling Federation. This one is designed specifically for our smaller wrestlers and the title will be called the WWF Light Heavyweight Title. Vince McMahon That should produce some great action, Gorilla. Including our opening bout which is a first round match within the tournament as New Japan's own Tiger Mask takes on Johnny Rodz! ------ vs. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Round 1 Tiger Mask vs. Johnny Rodz Tiger Mask was definitely a colorful wrestler who the fans sort of took a special liking to within the ring. The veteran Rodz really helped Tiger Mask in his performance and helped him to look good within the ring. Tiger Mask picked up his first win here with a high angle German Suplex pin to advance within the tournament. Winner: Tiger Mask Match Time: 5:55 Match Rating: D ------ The cameras move backstage where Gene Okerland is standing by with Pedro Morales. Gene Okerland Hello everyone, I'm Mean Gene Okerland alongside the number one contender to the Intercontinental Title Pedro Morales. Pedro, this is the final show before your shot at Don Muraco and he says your time is ticking away. Pedro Morales The only thing that time is ticking away for is for his hold on the Intercontinental Title, Gene. I've got the fans behind me one hundred percent and I've been training hard for this matchup. The fans here are going to see Don Muraco walk in with the belt around his waist and then he's going to get an empty feeling as I walk away with that belt around my waist. ------ vs. Ivan Koloff vs. Frankie Williams Koloff is in a bit of a warmup match here as he prepares to take on Bruno Sammartino at the big card. The man from Columbus Ohio doesn't seem to pose as much of a threat here though as Sammartino will. With Colonel Ninotchka and the Iron Sheik watching from the outside, the Russian Bear dominates this match and ends it with a Russian Bear Hug and a submission from Williams. Winner: Ivan Koloff Match Time: 5:54 Match Rating: D+ Following the match, Ninotchka and Sheik got into the ring and Ivan was handed a microphone. Ivan Koloff Soon this Italian pigdog, this lower than life whiner that protects America will fall at the hands of Russian might and the Russian Bear. Sammartino, you think you're so tough then how come you couldn't beat Ivan when you held the WWF Title belt, huh? And now you have grown even softer with American values of watching television when you should be out training. Ivan Koloff has not stopped training and soon Ivan Koloff will be WWF Champion again and along with Iron Sheik and Colonel Ninotchka we will be WWF World Tag Team Champions as well. Tell them, Colonel. Colonel Ninotchka Bruno Sammartino, you are a disgrace to your native Italy. You seem to have defected one bad country for another. I guess you cannot get things right. Well, perhaps, my Russian Bear will knock some sense into you here. No hard feelings, right? We're just better than you. ------ A video begins to play hyping some of the matches coming at the big show, including Hulk Hogan vs. Sgt. Slaughter, The open challenge issued by Captain Lou Albano as the Wild Samoans will defend their WWF World Tag Team Titles but against who?, The Intercontinental Title on the line as Don Muraco defends against Pedro Morales and the WWF World Heavyweight Title on the line as Bob Backlund defends against the Masked Superstar! ------ vs. The Strongbows vs. Mr. Fuji and Tiger Chung Lee Former WWF World Tag Team Champions in action here as the Strongbows take on Fuji and Lee. This is a rather open match as all four men get involved in the action early and both teams show a penchant for double team moves. Fuji and Lee focus on Jules in the corner, occassionally taunting Jay to bring him in the ring so they can do more double teams. Lee went for a back drop but got hit by a tomahawk chop and Jules was able to make the tag. Chief Jay came in like a house on fire attacking both Fuji and Lee as Lee tagged in Fuji. Jules came in and all four men were battling in the ring. Chief Jay whipped Fuji in and then locked on a Sleeper! The crowd cheered as Fuji went down and out for the lift of the hand: 1...2...3 and this one was over! Winners: The Strongbows Match Time: 5:36 Match Rating: D- ------ Back within a locker room area, Gene Okerland is standing by with Andre the Giant. Gene Okerland Hello wrestling fans, Gene Okerland back here again this time with the eighth wonder of the world Andre the Giant. Andre, you have an obvious injury to that leg following the attack by the Grand Wizard and Big John Studd last week. First of all, how are you holding up? Andre the Giant Gene, I am holding up fine. I will be more than ready to wrestle against Big John Studd. Gene Okerland John Studd and his manager have been making some allegations now that there is no way you can body slam him with that injured leg. How do you feel about that? Andre the Giant Big John Studd can say anything that he wants to, Gene. I have no control over the way he runs his mouth. I will let my actions within the ring speak for me when I body slam him and collect that money. Gene Okerland There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Andre is going to let his actions speak for him. Let's head back up to the ring for our main event! ------ vs. The Masked Superstar vs. Hulk Hogan The crowd cheered as Hogan came out to the ring and booed the Masked Superstar. The Masked Superstar came out with Sgt. Slaughter within his corner. This was a decidedly one-sided affair as the Masked Superstar dominated the early-going of the match. Hogan got in some good offensive moves within the middle, including a spot where he clotheslined the Masked Superstar over the top rope and then flexed for the crowd. But when the Masked Superstar regrouped he used a thumb to the eye to retake the advantage. The Masked Superstar set Hogan up for a Piledriver late in the match but Hogan reversed it with a back body drop then began his Hulk-Up! He turned toward the Masked Superstar and pointed, wagging his finger, ducking a clothesline and then pounding with right closed fists to the head! He backed Superstar up and then whipped him into the ropes, hitting the Big Boot! Hogan flexed and cupped his ear to the crowd before bouncing off the ropes and landing a big Leg Drop! He made the cover as the crowd counted along... 1... 2... Sgt. Slaughter broke it up! The interference made referee Earl Hebner call for the bell! Winner: Hulk Hogan Match Time: 10:26 Match Rating: C- Slaughter remained on the attack, stomping Hogan down as the crowd chanted his name: 'HOGAN!, HOGAN!, HOGAN!' Slaughter and the Masked Superstar dropped Hogan with a double clothesline and then set him up for a Spiked Piledriver when out from the back came Bob Backlund! The WWF World Heavyweight Champion slid into the ring and caught the Masked Superstar with a clothesline! Hulk began another Hulk-Up and sent Slaughter out of the ring with a big boot to the face and the crowd cheered as Hulk Hogan and the WWF World Heavyweight Champion Bob Backlund stood tall in the ring as the show came to a close! Final Rating: C- TV Rating: 1.35

I'm Vince McMahon and I have my broadcast partner Gorilla Monsoon. Gorilla, tonight we will be seeing some great action inside the ring. Gorilla Monsoon Indeed we will, Vince. We're going to see men like Andre the Giant take on Big John Studd and the pride of America on the line as Bruno Sammartino faces off with Ivan Koloff. Vince McMahon Yes but we'll also see Hulk Hogan step inside the squared circle taking on Sgt. Slaughter and our main event of the evening has Bob Backlund defending his World Wrestling Federation title against the Masked Superstar in a rematch from last month's showdown. But first we have another first round matchup from our Light Heavyweight Title tournament as Dean Malenko takes on Frankie Williams. ------ vs. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Round 1 Dean Malenko vs. Frankie Williams The man known as the Iceman walked stoicly to the ring to take on the man from Columbus Ohio. The crowd was definitely not into this match and it showed as they filed in and were mostly silent for this contest. Malenko used his technical wizardry on Williams during the match, mostly dominating until he could pick up the win by submission with the Texas Cloverleaf. Winner: Dean Malenko Match Time: 6:51 Match Rating: F+ ------ This moved into a video showing the training regiments of the Road Warrior. Bobby Heenan yelled out instructions as the Road Warrior lifted weights and skipped rope. Pretty generic video. ------ vs. WWF World Tag Team Titles Match The Wild Samoans vs. The Soul Patrol The Samoans were, of course, led down to the ring by Captain Lou Albano. The team that accepted Albano's open challenge was none other than the team of Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas: The Soul Patrol! This was a good tag team contest with Rocky Johnson playing the role of face-in-peril, taking some double team moves from the Samoans. When Rocky was finally able to make the tag, Mr. USA came in like a house on fire with punches and clotheslines on the Samoans! He sent Sika into a corner and climbed up, leveling punches on Sika's forehead while Rocky did the same thing to Afa! They both got back down and whipped the Samoans into each other! Atlas picked up Sika with his powerful strength and gave him a gorilla press slam to the mat, landing a splash and the Soul Patrol picked up the upset victory and are the NEW WWF World Tag Team Champions! Winners: The Soul Patrol Match Time: 13:34 Match Rating: D+ Captain Lou came in the ring yelling at the referee and at his Samoans as Atlas and Johnson were handed the belts and they raised them high for the fans to see! No matter how much complaining that Captain Lou does it doesn't matter. We have new Champs! HOLD ON JUST A MINUTE! Out from the back walks Superstar Billy Graham and Jesse the Body Ventura! They stand at the top of the ramp with the Superstar holding a microphone. Superstar Billy Graham We saw this little contest from the back. We watched as the Soul Patrol won the belts but the question is: does the open challenge still hold? Are the Soul Patrol men enough to step into the ring with the Superstar and the Body? Gentlemen, we will give you until WWF Championship Wrestling tomorrow to make a decision on whether or not you will face us at Summerslam for those belts. Jesse Ventura Better choose wisely, boys. Because your muscles are no match for these muscles! The Body and the Superstar both flex. ------ And the camera cuts to a video showing Gene Okerland standing within a locker room area with Bobby Eaton and Koko B. Ware. Koko has a bird sitting on his shoulder. Gene Okerland Ladies and gentlemen, I am here with one of the newest tag teams to come here to the World Wrestling Federation, the team of Beautiful Bobby Eaton and the Birdman Koko B. Ware. Gentlemen, welcome to the WWF. Bobby Eaton Thanks a lot, Gene. It's good to be here. But you saw just how those Soul Patrol members cheated to defeat the Wild Samoans tonight, right? They were pulling hair and using the ropes and doing all sorts of other things that a real tag team wouldn't need to do. A real team like myself and Koko. Take it away, Birdman. The bird flaps it's wings, startling Gene slightly. Koko B. Ware I think he likes you, Gene. But that doesn't matter because Frankie here isn't the wrestler. I am and so is my partner Beautiful Bobby here. We're going to take the WWF by storm and pretty soon we're going to have those WWF World Tag Team Straps around our waists but we're going to do it without the cheating that teams like the Soul Patrol need to do. ------ vs. WWF Intercontinental Title Match Don Muraco vs. Pedro Morales Before the match, a video played showing the history between Muraco and Morales starting with Morales saving Ivan Putski and ending with their comments back and forth following the double DQ match. Once they got inside the ring, they picked up right where they left off last month with a little bit of brawling. Referee Dick Kroll had to step in and break things up early in the bout. Pedro clotheslined Muraco and sent him right outside the ring. Morales played to the crowd, getting them pumped and behind him before Muraco slid back into the ring. The Magnificent One kicked Morales in the gut when he came in for a lock-up and knocked him back in the corner and began his attack on Pedro, choking him in the corner before the referee pulled him back. Muraco continued his attack, turning his focus to the back of Morales. He body slammed him down and dropped an elbow drop, making a cover and getting a two count. Muraco got multiple two counts during this match as he maintained his advantage for several minutes before making a motion for the Hawaiian Hammer! The crowd chanted 'Pedro!, Pedro!,' trying to get Morales back into it and as Muraco pulled him up Morales hit him in the gut with a straight right! Another right and another as Morales got to his feet! He whipped Muraco across the ring and dropped him high with a back body drop! Morales went outside the ring and climbed the turnbuckles as the crowd cheered. Morales leapt off with a splash... KNEES UP!!! Don Muraco got his knees up and Morales is hurt! Muraco quickly rolls Morales up and grabs the tights, while referee Dick Kroll makes the count... 1... 2... 3!!! Don Muraco has made a successful defense of his IC Title! Winner: Don Muraco Match Time: 13:14 Match Rating: B- Following the match, Don Muraco was handed his title belt and he looked toward Morales as Pedro started to slowly get toward his feet using the ropes. Muraco charged him and smashed him in the head with the belt! He put the belt down and picked up Pedro Morales, dropping him on his head with the Hawaiian Hammer! Don Muraco is met with a chorus of boos as he picks up his belt and holds it up. ------ The focus returns backstage and to Mean Gene Okerland. Gene Okerland Hello wrestling fans. Some great action so far here in New York. My guest at this time is none other than the living legend Bruno Sammartino. Bruno, tonight you take on a man who you are very familiar with in the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff. Your thoughts on your match tonight? Bruno Sammartino Gene, tonight isn't just about me. It isn't just about Bruno Sammartino vs. Ivan Koloff. Tonight is about the U.S.A. vs. the U.S.S.R. And let me tell you this, better dead than red unless you're talking about the red, white and blue. I did come over here from Italy but I am a full-fledged American now. And tonight I am going to prove that this is the better country. Gene Okerland Thank you for your time, Bruno and good luck tonight. Now let's head up to Howard Finkel and the ring for our next bout. ------ vs. Big John Studd vs. Andre the Giant Definitely a much slower-paced bout between the two large men than was the Don Muraco/Pedro Morales bout. However, the crowd was just as into these two men inside the ring. The place went nuts when Andre laid into Big John Studd and especially when he tried to body slam the big man but Andre's knee gave out on him and Studd got a two count on the Giant. Studd turned his focus to the knee of Andre, stomping on it and giving it a stretch with his leg. Andre rose his other leg though and kicked Studd backward! Studd staggered slightly and Andre kicked him again! Andre used the ropes to help rise toward his feet. The Grand Wizard looked on in horror as Andre made a motion for another body slam attempt! Quickly, the Grand Wizard jumped on the apron, yelling at Andre and pointing toward him with his cane! Andre turned and looked toward the Grand Wizard and then began lumbering toward him! The Grand Wizard jumped off the apron and began walking backward as Andre chased after him! Big John Studd moved out of the ring and attacked Andre with a double sledge to the back! Studd and Andre battled outside the ring for too long though and referee Dick Woehrle had no other choice but to rule this match a double countout! Winner: Double Countout Match Time: 10:08 Match Rating: B- ------ vs. Bruno Sammartino vs. Ivan Koloff Following that last bout, a video began to play showing highlights of Bruno Sammartino and Ivan Koloff. It showed highlights of where Ivan Koloff beat Bruno for the WWWF Title and then showed where Ivan Koloff and the Iron Sheik laid the flag on top of Bruno. Then Ivan Koloff made his entrance along with the Iron Sheik and Colonel Ninotchka. They stood within a line and at attention. Ivan Koloff Puny Americans need to rise and show your respect for a true national anthem. The national anthem of the U.S.S.R., my mother Russia! The crowd booed as the national anthem of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics began to play and they booed all through it before cheering when Bruno Sammartino came down to the ring and took a microphone of his own. Bruno Sammartino Now everyone please rise for the playing of our United States national anthem! Bruno placed his hand over his heart as the Stars and Stripes began to play. The song was interrupted by an attack by Ivan Koloff on Bruno Sammartino! The Russian Bear was brutal early with forearm shots to Sammartino! The crowd began a 'U.S.A.' chant very early but the first five minutes was dominated by Ivan Koloff. Koloff's attention was focused on Sammartino's back. But soon Sammartino began firing back with rights and lefts and even a dropkick from the veteran that sent the Russian Bear looking for cover! After a few moments, Koloff came back into the ring but Sammartino was in charge here with armdrags and an armbar on the Russian Bear. Sammartino spent the next 6 minutes focusing in on the arm of the Russian Bear. Maybe that would keep Koloff from being able to lock in on that Bear Hug. Sammartino whipped Koloff toward the ropes and it was reversed! The Iron Sheik grabbed Sammartino's leg and tripped him up where the referee couldn't see it! This gave Koloff the opportunity to drop a knee onto the back of Sammartino and an elbow. Koloff lifted Sammartino into an inverted Backbreaker, stretching Sammartino out but the Living Legend wouldn't give up. Koloff released the hold after several minutes and yelled at the crowd when the 'U.S.A.' chant started again! Koloff turned back toward Sammartino and was rolled up for a two count! Sammartino got back up and gave Koloff an armdrag but then grabbed his back, wincing in pain! The Iron Sheik climbed on the apron, distracting the referee as Colonel Ninotchka slid inside the ring facing off with Bruno Sammartino. The Colonel reached inside her jacket and pulled out a can of hair spray, spraying Sammartino right in the eyes! Sammartino staggered grabbing his eyes and moved right into a Russian Bear Hug! The Colonel left the ring and the Iron Sheik dropped down. Referee Earl Hebner turned back around just in time to signal for the submission! Winner: Ivan Koloff Match Time: 17:35 Match Rating: B+ Following the match, Koloff did not release the hold! In came the Iron Sheik and Colonel Ninotchka, holding the referee back! The Colonel held back the referee and the Iron Sheik threw a few punches to the back of Sammartino before Ivan Koloff released and the 3 raised their arms in victory. What a disgrace! ------ The focus turned backstage again where the Grand Wizard was standing by with the Masked Superstar. The Grand Wizard Tonight, I will not lose twice. Tonight is the night that I finally rid the World Wrestling Federation of having a champion like Bob Backlund. Superstar, I know you're ready for our match later on. Backlund, I will have my revenge for you defeating another of my proteges and sending him away from me. Tonight that revenge comes to fruition! ------ vs. Sgt. Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan Slaughter was already within the ring when Hulk Hogan made his entrance to cheers from the crowd. Hogan ripped off his shirt to a huge ovation from the Hulkamaniacs out there! The match began and the first five minutes showed a lot of showboating by Hogan. Any time he got the advantage he would flex to the crowd and cup his ear to get a huge cheer from the crowd. But slowly Slaughter began to turn the tide and focused in on Hogan, giving him a gutcrusher and getting a two count on Hogan. Slaughter spent the next five minutes slowly wearing down Hogan, ramming his back into the corner and then dropping him with a bulldog. Slaughter stood up and gave Hogan a salute of dismissal, making another cover and getting a two count before Hogan began his famous Hulk-Up! Slaughter's eyes went wide as he began punching away at Hogan but Hogan no-sold the punches! Hogan got to his feet and looked at Slaughter with wild eyes, pointing and then wagging his finger! Hogan blocked a Slaughter punch and then caught him with one of his own. Then another! Then another! He rocked Slaughter back into the ropes and whipped him across, hitting the big boot! Hogan cupped his ear to the crowd before bouncing off the ropes and landing a huge legdrop and making the cover... 1... 2... 3!!! Winner: Hulk Hogan Match time: 12:59 Match Rating: B- Following the match, Hogan popped up and began to celebrate his victory! He gave the fans some patented Hogan flexes and cupped his ear to each side, listening to the cheers of the fans! Whatcha gonna do??? ------ The focus slowly turned backstage again. Gene Okerland Hello wrestling fans. I'm back here again, this time with World Wrestling Federation Champion Bob Backlund. Bob, tonight the Grand Wizard of Wrestling said he is going to get his revenge on you for winning that title from one of his proteges. Your thoughts going into this match tonight with the Masked Superstar? Bob Backlund I'll tell you, Gene, it's going to be just like what happened before when I faced the Masked Superstar. I am going to beat him 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring or make him submit. ------ vs. WWF World Heavyweight Title Match Bob Backlund vs. The Masked Superstar Of course the Masked Superstar was accompanied to the ring by the Grand Wizard of Wrestling and Bob Backlund by the WWF World Title belt. The opening of the match was spent with a little chase between Backlund and Superstar. Backlund would start getting some momentum and Superstar would break it by sliding outside the ring or getting into the ropes. Superstar quickly realized he couldn't outwrestle Backlund so he used some cheap tactics to get the advantage and focused his attention on the neck and upper body of Backlund with stomps and front facelocks. The Masked Superstar dropped an elbow and made a cover... 1... 2... Kickout! The crowd cheered as Backlund kicked out there midway through the bout. But the Masked Superstar continued his offensive with Backlund getting a few shots in but the Grand Wizard distracting Backlund for long enough to get the Masked Superstar back on the attack. Toward the 15 minute mark, Backlund began to make his comeback with the fans cheering behind him! He slipped behind the Masked Superstar and locked in the Crossface Chicken Wing but the Grand Wizard jumped on the apron, grabbing the referee and keeping him from hearing any submission! After a minute, Backlund released the hold and raised his arms in victory but the referee didn't hear anything! The Masked Superstar grabbed Backlund and rolled him up as the referee turned around... 1... 2... 3! NO! WAIT! Referee Dick Woehrle signals that it was a 2 count! The Grand Wizard slides in the ring yelling at the referee while the Masked Superstar raises his arms in victory. All the while this is giving Backlund time to recover. He slips behind the Masked Superstar and hits an Atomic Spinecrusher! He clotheslines the Grand Wizard out of the ring and makes the cover... 1... 2... 3!!! YES!! It's a 3 count! Winner: Bob Backlund Match Time: 19:14 Match Rating: B Following the match, Bob Backlund was handed the belt and he raised his arms in victory. The Grand Wizard tried to revive the Masked Superstar and then turned his attention to Backlund, cracking him over the head with a cane! The Masked Superstar slowly came to and moved over to Backlund, locking in the Cobra Clutch! Backlund cried out in pain as the Grand Wizard kept the referee from pulling Superstar off. The show ended when the Masked Superstar released Backlund and once again remained standing in victory. Final Rating: C+

WWF Championship Wrestling Sunday, Week 4, June 1983 Washington Coliseum Washington, D.C. Attendance: 4,917 The show opened with the Masked Superstar and the Grand Wizard standing in front of a generic background and the crowd booing. The Masked Superstar Last night everyone knows that I was screwed out of my shot at the WWF World Heavyweight Title. The Grand Wizard knows it, all these idiots in the stands know it and more importantly Bob Backlund knows it. The referee made a three count on Backlund with his shoulders pinned to the mat but then took it back to make all of you idiots happy. But Bob Backlund didn't look like much of a winner did he? No, he didn't. I destroyed him after the match and it was the Masked Superstar standing tall. The question I have to pose is: does Bob Backlund have the guts to give me one more shot? And this time there will be no controversy. I will walk out of the ring as the WWF World Heavyweight Champion OR I will unmask in front of everyone. The ball is in your court, Backlund. Take it or leave it but I will be the next WWF World Champion. ------ The cameras finally focus in on the arena where the crowd cheers the start of the show. Everyone stands up, trying to get on camera before it moves it's focus to the announcers: Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon. Vince McMahon Some strong words from the Masked Superstar to open the card, Gorilla. What do you think Bob Backlund will have to say? Gorilla Monsoon We all know that Bob Backlund is a fighting champion, Vince, as shown by his giving Ray Stevens a title shot tonight less than twenty four hours removed from his grueling match with The Masked Superstar. Vince McMahon I am sure we will hear from Bob Backlund later tonight on the challenge issued by The Masked Superstar. But let's head up to the ring for our first match of the night, another first round contest in the Light Heavyweight Title Tournament. ------ vs. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Round 1 The Professional vs. Tim Horner The opening match here tonight had two wrestlers that fans here in D.C. had never really watched before in the Professional and Tim Horner. Horner slightly dazzled them with quick moves while the Professional took on more of a ground-based technical assault on Horner with a few cheating moves here and there to get the fans cheering for the Candyman. Horner picked up a rather quick pinfall with a Sunset Flip and an advance to the semi-finals. Winner: Tim Horner Match Time: 2:41 Match Rating: D- Horner got up, celebrating his victory and playing to the fans before he was attacked from behind! The man whipped him into the ropes and nailed a Hot Shot, making the fans boo him. The man? Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert! Gilbert kicked Horner while Vince announced in the background that Gilbert would be a participant in this tournament and it looks like he is trying to get an upper hand on one of his competition. ------ The cameras turned their attention back to the announcer's booth as officials took care of Tim Horner in the ring. Vince McMahon Wrestling fans, I've just been handed a bulletin that at the end of the month we are going to see a major bout. We are going to see Andre the Giant take on Big John Studd one more time. But this time it is going to be contested inside a 15 foot high steel cage! Gorilla Monsoon Whoa, Vince, that's amazing and should make for a well-fought contest. These men have been going to double countouts all over the United States but now they will be fighting inside a Steel Cage at Summerslam with the winner take all. ------ The crowd cheers as Pedro Morales walks toward the ring and slips inside with a microphone in hand. Pedro Morales Last night Don Muraco defeated me and held on to the WWF Intercontinental Title. We have traded the title back and forth on many occassions and I am asking Don Muraco to give me one more shot. If I cannot beat him at Summerslam then I will receive no more shots at the belt while he is still the Champion. Muraco, I await your reply. ------ vs. Bobby Eaton and Koko B. Ware vs. The Invaders Eaton and Ware making their debut tonight here against the Invaders. Koko brought Frankie to ringside and the bird watched as Eaton and Ware dominated the bout much to the surprise of no one. Ware did a little flapping of his arms inside the ring and was definitely a little more out there than the straight-laced Eaton. When Eaton was tagged in he was all business and finished the bout with an Alabama Jam on Invader 1, getting the pinfall win. Winners: Eaton and Ware Match Time: 4:38 Match Rating: D- ------ The attention turned toward a locker room area where the Grand Wizard and Big John Studd were seen talking. The Grand Wizard So they signed you up for a steel cage match against that giant moron. Well, that's fine because you are the best large athlete in the World Wrestling Federation. Big John Studd I'm the best! The Grand Wizard That's right. Now, what are you going to do to Andre at Summerslam? Big John Studd Beat him? The Grand Wizard You are going to destroy him! Big John Studd Studd destroy! Studd crush! Big John Studd slams his fist and a foot through a wooden bench and the Grand Wizard just smiles. ------ vs. The Masked Superstar vs. Andre the Giant The Masked Superstar was accompanied to the ring by The Grand Wizard and Big John Studd. Andre and Studd engaged in a staredown with Andre looking down at ringside. This gave the Masked Superstar a chance to go right after the knee of the Giant and get the early advantage. Superstar brought the giant down to one knee with those shots but Andre reached up and pushed him back, using the ropes to slowly get toward his feet again. The Masked Superstar came back over and Andre gave him a huge headbutt, sending the Superstar down to the mat. Andre dropped an elbow but didn't make the cover. The Grand Wizard got up on the apron and Andre stared at him before turning his attention back to the Masked Superstar, lifting him up in a body slam position and spinning around right into a kick to the gut by Studd! Referee Dick Woehrle turned in time to see this and called for the bell. Winner: Andre the Giant Match Time: 5:33 Match Rating: B Studd and the Masked Superstar hammered on the knee of Andre at this point with the crowd trying to cheer Andre on to make a comeback when out from the back comes Bob Backlund! The Champ slides into the ring and threatens the Masked Superstar with hitting him with the belt and the Superstar slides out of the ring quickly. Studd just stares at Backlund before slowly exiting the ring at the behest of the Grand Wizard. ------ The focus slowly turns back toward Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon. Vince McMahon Well, Gorilla, earlier tonight we heard Pedro Morales issue a challenge to Don Muraco for another shot at the WWF Intercontinental Title at Summerslam. Gorilla Monsoon Indeed we did, Vince. And my sources have told me that Don Muraco has indeed accepted the challenge from Pedro Morales with the stipulation that if Pedro does not win the belt he does not get anymore shots at Don Muraco's WWF Intercontinental Title. What a matchup that should be! Vince McMahon Indeed, Gorilla. Let's head up to the ring for our next match with a man who shouldn't be too popular here with the D.C. crowd. ------ vs. The Iron Sheik vs. Jose Luis Rivera The crowd booed heavily as Colonel Ninotchka and Ivan Koloff escorted the Iron Sheik to the ring for this match. The Iron Sheik slid into the ring and went right after Rivera to start the match. As one might expect, Rivera was definitely overmatched with the powerful Iron Sheik. Sheik choked him on the ropes and when the referee pulled him back, Ninotchka slapped Rivera across the face. That wasn't necessary says Gorilla Monsoon! Eventually, the Iron Sheik got Rivera on his stomach and then locked in the Camel Clutch, getting the submission rather quickly. Winner: The Iron Sheik Match Time: 3:51 Match Rating: C- ------ A video is shown hyping the skills and talents of Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood, along with the words that they will be making their debut here in the World Wrestling Federation next week! ------ vs. WWF World Heavyweight Title Match Bob Backlund vs. Ray Stevens The ring introductions were made with Bob Backlund coming out second as is the Champion's choice and he went up and whispered a few words to Howard Finkel before taking the microphone. Bob Backlund I just wanted to say before this match with Ray Stevens tonight that I accept the challenge laid out by the Masked Superstar on one condition. That condition being that the match be held within the confines of a steel cage so that no one can interfere on his behalf. If the Masked Superstar accepts that then I accept. Bob went to put away the microphone when he was attacked from behind by Ray Stevens. Vince and Gorilla talked about how it may be a moot point since he has to go through the Crippler tonight to keep his belt. Stevens kept on the offensive during the first few minutes of the contest, never letting Backlund even get to a vertical base. He focused in on the leg of Backlund before moving to the second turnbuckle and leaping off only to be caught by Backlund's other foot across the face! Stevens staggered back into the corner as Backlund got pumped by the cheers of the crowd, working to his feet. He ducked a clothesline from Stevens and took him down with a double leg takedown, punching away at the forehead of the Crippler! Backlund lifted Stevens and dropped him with a good vertical suplex. Backlund then moved behind Stevens and locked in a rear waistlock, bringing Stevens over in a German Suplex, no bridge, all impact! Backlund moved back behind Stevens and locked in his patented Crossface Chicken Wing and Stevens had no choice but to submit! Winner: Bob Backlund Match Time: 7:36 Match Rating: C+ The Masked Superstar entered the ring quickly following the match and Backlund released the hold on Stevens. Stevens rolled out of the ring and Backlund slowly got to his feet, ducking a clothesline from the Masked Superstar. He wrapped his arms around Superstar and hit a picture-perfect Belly-to-Belly Suplex on The Masked Superstar! The Masked Superstar rolled out of the ring quickly, surprised by this attack and Bob Backlund held up the WWF World Heavyweight Title to cheers from the crowd as the show ended on a high note. Final Rating: C+ TV Rating: 1.56

Our main event tonight is The Magnificent One Don Muraco defending the WWF Intercontinental Title in his biggest test yet: Andre the Giant! Vince McMahon You know that Don Muraco has to be worried about his title. The commentators are interrupted by the arrival of Ivan Koloff to the booth. Winner: Hulk Hogan Match Time: 1:33 Match Rating: D+ Following the match, Hogan flexed and posed for the crowd while the crowd cheered wildly. Then the attention turned toward the announce booth. Ivan Koloff You call that wrestling, McMahon, Monsoon? That is nothing compared to Russian athlete. His Axe Bomber is nothing compared to Russian Sickle. Once the bell sounded, it was all Road Warrior in this match, showing his power with clotheslines, suplexes and a military press slam on Rivera. The Road Warrior finished the bout with a flying shoulder tackle off the top turnbuckle for the win! Winner: The Road Warrior Match Time: 1:55 Match Rating: D ------ A pre-taped video played within a locker room area where Gorilla Monsoon was standing by with Andre the Giant. Gorilla Monsoon Hello everyone. I hope you've been enjoying WWF Championship Wrestling. I'm back here with Andre the Giant. Andre, you're going to be taking on Big John Studd inside a steel cage at Summerslam. Your thoughts heading toward that card? Andre the Giant Gorilla, thank you for this time. Big John Studd, you are going to learn why you do not mess with the eighth wonder of the world. Inside the steel cage, I will break your face with the cage itself before body slamming you and collecting the money. There will be no more outside help from the Grand Wizard. Just you and me one on one and nobody beats the Giant one on one. Gorilla Monsoon Thank you, Andre, now let's head back up to the ring for our next match where Big John Studd will take on Pedro Morales. ------ vs. Big John Studd vs. Pedro Morales Studd towered over Pedro as they both stood within the ring. Of course the Grand Wizard was in Studd's corner. The crowd really enjoyed these two premier athletes going one on one and they showed a chemistry between each other while wrestling in the ring. Pedro did his best to fell the larger Studd early in the bout but wasn't successful and Studd got the advantage, using his considerable size to that advantage and keeping Morales back off him. Late in the bout, the fans rallied Morales and Pedro was finally able to take the larger John Studd off his feet to a HUGE crowd ovation! Pedro turned to move toward the turnbuckle when... CRACK!!! He got nailed over the head with the intercontinental title belt of Don Muraco! Muraco stood smiling over Morales as the referee called for the bell. Winner: Pedro Morales Match Time: 7:37 Match Rating: B- ------ The focus shifted to the back locker room area where Hulk Hogan was standing in front of the camera. Hulk Hogan You know something, Hulkamaniacs, I heard Ivan Koloff coming out here and talking bad about the Hulkster, dudes. I heard him talk about Russia and what a better country it is and everyone knows that's not right, brother. Russian Bear when you look at Hulk Hogan you're looking at a true American hero, dude. You're looking at the man with the largest arms in the world, the 24 inch pythons that will crush any russian bear that stands in my way. In case you didn't realize it, the power of Hulkamania and all my little Hulkamaniacs is running wild throughout the WWF, brother. And if you don't watch your mouth then the power of Hulkamania is gonna run wild over you! Hulk flexes before the camera fades. ------ vs. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Round 1 Eddie Gilbert vs. Tommy Rogers Tommy Rogers is one half of one of the newest tag teams within the WWF: The Fantastics and everyone knows Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert. For a short bout, these two showed a definite chemistry between each other in the ring. Though this one was mostly a one-sided affair with Gilbert on the offensive. Vince informed fans that the winner of this match would be facing Tim Horner in the semis and the other semifinal would be Dean Malenko facing Tiger Mask. Gilbert put Rogers away with a Hot Shot and a pinfall. Winner: Eddie Gilbert Match Time: 1:43 Match Rating: E+ ------ The cameras cut backstage where Don Kernodle and Sgt. Slaughter could be seen. That other wrestler doesn't stand a chance, Sir. He will be annihilated by you. Sgt. Slaughter smiles. Sgt. Slaughter You're dismissed. And THAT'S an ORDER! ------ Within another locker room setting is the Magnificent One Don Muraco. Don Muraco Everyone in the World Wrestling Federation saw what I just did to poor Pedro. I left him lying flat on his back just like I did before when I pinned him for the three count. He's not even worthy of stepping into the ring with the Magnificent One but I'm being rather generous and giving him one final shot at the title. Pedro, you better make the most of it because when I beat you, you won't get another shot at this belt until I retire. ------ vs. Boat and Blood vs. Mr. Fuji and Tiger Chung Lee Fuji and Lee were already in the ring when Boat and Blood their entrance to wild cheers from mostly the female fans within the arena. They slid into the ring and were attacked immediately by the veterans. Once things broke down into an orderly fashion, Boat and Blood took the advantage and began their focus on both Fuji and Lee. They used quick tags and quickly The Dragon went to the top turnbuckle with Mr. Fuji in the ring. Fuji turned and got caught with that Flying Body Press off the top turnbuckle, securing the 3 count and the debut victory for Boat and Blood! Winners: Boat and Blood Match Time: 3:50 Match Rating: D+ ------ The focus turned back to the locker room where the Grand Wizard was standing by with the Masked Superstar. The Grand Wizard Bob Backlund, count down your days as WWF World Champion because they are numbered. The Masked Superstar here will keep his mask at Summerslam and gain a priceless piece of gold around his waist, finally securing my revenge after you defeated one of my charges for that belt. Superstar, I want the belt back. You better bring it home to me. ------ This cut into a video showing the Wild Samoans! It was a match history from when they won the WWF World Tag Team Titles and subsequent defenses before showing how they lost the belts. Then it faded into Captain Lou Albano in front of a generic background. Captain Lou Albano My Samoans lost the belts at that big card last week because they were unprepared to face Atlas and Johnson. This doesn't mean that next time they will be unprepared. They are training to make their return and they will be coming back soon. Soul Patrol, you're just keeping the belts warm until my Savages come back and destroy you! ------ vs. WWF Intercontinental Title Match Don Muraco vs. Andre the Giant The Magnificent One might not even make it to Summerslam with the title due to the match he has here with Andre the Giant! Muraco went right after Andre as the eighth wonder was climbing into the ring. Muraco went right after those knees, sound strategy since that has been the focus of Big John Studd but Andre shoved Muraco to the ground with one hand, climbing the rest of the way into the ring. Muraco got back up and threw a hard shoulder tackle into Andre, staggering the big man into the corner. Muraco went up and began wailing away with punches on Andre's head in the corner before Andre shoved him off again. Muraco charged one more time and Andre picked him up and body slammed him to the mat! Andre dropped all that weight on Muraco's chest with an elbow drop and made a cover... 1... 2... Shoulder Up! Somehow Magnificent Muraco got a shoulder up with all that weight pressed on top of him! Andre got to his feet and looked to the crowd, getting their attention and cheers before he bounced off the ropes and went for the butt drop but Muraco moved out of the way just in time! Muraco kicked Andre to the back of the head, punched him, used a rolling neck snap on the large neck of Andre the Giant to stagger him! He clotheslined him down with those large arms and made a cover! 1... 2... Andre uses his power to throw Muraco across the ring! Don looks wide-eyed at the Giant and slides out of the ring. He grabs his Intercontinental Title and starts backing up toward the exit as he gets counted out. Referee Dick Woehrle calls for the bell, signalling the countout and an Andre win but Andre doesn't get the title. Winner: Andre the Giant Match Time: 6:09 Match Rating: B- As Muraco backs toward the ramp, the crowd cheers as Pedro Morales walks out from the back with a bandage on his forehead from where Muraco hit him with the belt. Morales taps Muraco on the shoulder but Muraco just waves his hand. Another tap, another wave. Another tap and Muraco turns angrily around and is met with a right hand by Morales! Another! And another! The crowd cheers wildly as Morales takes the advantage only to have the situation diffused by a number of wrestlers and referees coming out to break it up and the show ends with a wild, chaotic scene there. WWF Championship Wrestling Sunday, Week 2, July 1983 Civic Center Glens Falls, New York Attendance: 4,861 The show opens up panning around the crowd before focusing in on Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon. Vince McMahon Hello everyone and welcome to WWF Championship Wrestling! I'm Vince McMahon along with Gorilla Monsoon getting ready for some top WWF action, including our main event where Pedro Morales takes on the Masked Superstar. Gorilla Monsoon That's right, Vince and what a way we're going to start off the show as the Immortal Hulk Hogan is set to take on Ray the Crippler Stevens! Gorilla is interrupted by the presence of Ivan Koloff at the announcer's booth. Ivan Koloff I heard that Hulk Hogan would be wrestling here tonight so I figured you needed someone to keep the fans awake. And we all know that you cannot do that, Gorilla. Gorilla Monsoon Will you stop?! ------ vs. Hulk Hogan vs. Ray Stevens During the short match, Ivan Koloff did all he could to insult Hulk Hogan and America on the microphone. Inside the ring, Hogan dominated the match much to the surprise of Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon. Hogan got the pinfall following the Big Legdrop! Winner: Hulk Hogan Match Time: 2:37 Match Rating: B Following the match, Hogan flexed for the crowd much to the cheers of the Hulkamaniacs within the arena. Then Ivan Koloff got on the public address system. Ivan Koloff HOGAN! You better spend more time working on your wrestling skill than on your posing if you want to even have a chance against the Russian Bear. I know that Americans don't care about whether or not they are good wrestlers. That was obvious by your showing tonight. But the Russian Bear will soon be WWF Champion while you're still wrestling against has-beens. Hogan's eyes went wide and he picked up a microphone within the ring. Hulk Hogan Brother, I told you that you need to mind your own business and keep your focus elsewhere. All my Hulkamaniacs know that it takes training, saying your prayers and eating your vitamins to grow up big and strong like the Hulkster. So if you think you can withstand the force, the power of all these Hulkamaniacs, then step into the ring right now and prove it, dude! Hogan tossed away the microphone and flexed inside the ring, waiting as Ivan Koloff moved from the announcer's booth toward the ring but he is stopped midway out there by a group of referees and wrestlers! The other group comes in and keeps Hogan back and Vince talks about moving on to a video. ------ The video in question is a video showing the return soon of the Wild Samoans. Captain Lou Albano has been training them hard after they lost the WWF World Tag Team Titles two weeks ago and they will be returning soon. ------ vs. Sgt. Slaughter vs. Tito Santana The next match that started in the ring featured Sgt. Slaughter against Tito Santana. Slaughter dominated the match against Santana and ended it by pinfall with a Stomach Breaker. Winner: Sgt. Slaughter Match Time: 1:33 Match Rating: C+ Following the match, Don Kernodle joined Slaughter inside the ring and they both gave a salute of dismissal to Tito and while they were standing within the ring the cameras flashed to a video featuring Colonel Ninotchka and the Iron Sheik. ------ Colonel Ninotchka and the Iron Sheik were standing in front of a generic background. Colonel Ninotchka Stupid Americans. Take a look at one of my wrestler here: The Iron Sheik. He is the best wrestler to come out of Iran ever. He is a former amateur champion and soon he will be helping Ivan Koloff and Russia to take over American wrestling, not that it will be that difficult since anyone he might face is of a lower class than our Russian society. Sheik, tell them what you think of America. The Iron Sheik America? And the Iron Sheik spits loudly onto the ground with Colonel Ninotchka laughing in the background. ------ vs. Ivan Putski vs. George Steele It's Polish Power against the Animal here. Steele was actually not accompanied to the ring by Freddie Blassie here tonight and Vince explained that by saying that Blassie has been suspended for his actions here in the WWF. But this didn't stop Steele from taking the advantage on Putski and putting him away quickly following a Bear Hug. Winner: George Steele Match Time: 2:48 Match Rating: C- ------ A video began to play showing the Grand Wizard and Big John Studd in front of a generic steel-cage-like background. The Grand Wizard Andre the Giant! Soon you will have to step inside a monstrous cage with this monster himself. Big John Studd is stronger, tougher and more deserving of the eighth wonder of the world tag than you are, Andre. Will you be willing to put up your name, Andre the Giant? Will you be willing to no longer be called the eighth wonder of the world? John, tell him what you're going to do to him! Big John Studd Smash Andre! Studd rammed right through the wall as the Grand Wizard laughed. ------ vs. Semi-Finals of Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Dean Malenko vs. Tiger Mask This Semi-Final bout pitted the mat skills of Dean Malenko against the high flying and acrobatic talent of Tiger Mask. The fans didn't know too much still about either one of these men but they are starting to warm up to them just a little. Malenko was able to keep Tiger Mask grounded for the early-going of the match but once Tiger Mask got going even Malenko wasn't able to stop him. Tiger Mask nailed Malenko with a Tiger Suplex and pin and he's headed to the finals! Winner: Tiger Mask Match Time: 3:51 Match Rating: D ------ A locker room area was shown with Lord Alfred Hayes standing side by side with Pedro Morales. Lord Alfred Hayes Hello wrestling fans. Lord Alfred Hayes within the back area with number one contender to the Intercontinental Title Pedro Morales. Pedro, despite your match with the Masked Superstar tonight your sights have to be set on Don Muraco and the Intercontinental Title at Summerslam. Your thoughts as you head into that big match? Pedro Morales Your right, Lord Alfred. My eyes are definitely set on my match with Don Muraco at Summerslam. But that doesn't mean that I am glossing over the Masked Superstar. He is a tough athlete and will be taking on Bob Backlund for the WWF World Title at Summerslam. How much tougher can you get? But my focus is mostly on Don Muraco. Magnificent One, I WILL win the Intercontinental Title again. It will be around my waist following Summerslam. I can guarantee it. ------ vs. Non-Title Match Soul Patrol vs. Eaton and Ware This was a non-title match but definitely a big shot for the new team of Eaton and Ware to shoot up the rankings. But Soul Patrol showed that they are deserving of the WWF World Tag Team Titles by defeating Eaton and Ware in short order. Tony Atlas pinned the Birdman following a Gorilla Press Slam. Winners: Soul Patrol Match Time: 2:31 Match Rating: D+ Following the match, Jesse Ventura and Superstar Billy Graham came running into the ring and attacked Soul Patrol! They laid the Champs out and took the belts, sliding them around their own waists and walking out with them much to the anger of Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon! ------ vs. Pedro Morales vs. The Masked Superstar And it's main event time as Pedro Morales steps into the ring with the Masked Superstar. The Masked Superstar was, of course, accompanied down to the ring by the Grand Wizard. Could this be one of the last times we see the Superstar with his mask on? This was a very good back and forth style match with each man getting in some offense. During the match, the Grand Wizard did a little interference to keep the momentum on the side of his combatant. And when Pedro really started to gain some momentum out came Don Muraco. The Magnificent One stood at ringside, distracting Pedro. The Grand Wizard distracted the official while the Masked Superstar turned Pedro around but got a kick to the gut for his credit! Pedro turned back toward Muraco and got a chair shot to the skull! The Masked Superstar locked on the Cobra Clutch and got the submission from Pedro before he seemingly passed out and was tossed to the mat. Winner: The Masked Superstar Match Time: 8:13 Match Rating: C+ Following the match, Don Muraco climbed into the ring and looked down at Pedro Morales. He smiled and then spit on the unconcious wrestler before reaching down and dragging him toward the edge of the ring. Muraco slid out of the ring and pulled Morales to the floor, dragging him over to a ringside table. He ran his thumb across his throat and lifted Morales up on his shoulder as he climbed onto the table itself! Several wrestlers came running down toward the ring and Muraco smiled at them as he dropped Morales on his head with the Hawaiian Hammer on a table! The table didn't break but Morales might have! The wrestlers pulled Muraco away as EMTs came over to check on Pedro Morales and Vince announced that we may never see Pedro Morales wrestle again! Final Rating: C+ TV Rating: 1.55

Inside the ring, Boat and Blood used their tag team wrestling expertise to their advantage against the young team of Fulton and Malenko. Boat and Blood used a double clothesline to bring Malenko down and then Steamboat climbed to the top turnbuckle, playing to the crowd before leaping and connecting with a Flying Cross Body on Fulton to get the pinfall victory in this opening bout. Anyone who steps inside the squared circle against me has become my enemy and my ring is filled with landmines for them to step on and lose a leg or two. Colonel Ninotchka watched on from ringside as the Iron Sheik dominated Bellomo in the ring much like Ivan Koloff dominated Bruno Sammartino according to Ninotchka on a brief spot of commentary. Sheik got the pinfall following a Loaded Boot Blast and then locked on his patented Camel Clutch! Winner: The Iron Sheik Match Time: 4:45 Match Rating: D Following the bell sounding, the Iron Sheik had locked on the Camel Clutch and wasn't about to release it despite referee Dick Woehrle warning him to let it go. Colonel Ninotchka pushed the referee down and stood there laughing until several wrestlers came from the back and were finally able to pull the Iron Sheik off Bellomo. Sheik and Ninotchka left to boos from the crowd. ------ The attention turned to a video where Bobby Heenan was standing beside the Road Warrior. Bobby Heenan I think there is definitely a conspiracy going on here. My Road Warrior has run through each and every competitor that the WWF has thrown at him yet none of our so-called champions want to give him a title shot. Imagine that. Nobody wants to face the Road Warrior. Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because he's the toughest, baddest, meanest wrestler to ever set foot in a WWF ring. Bob Backlund, he's coming for you. Don Muraco, I like you very much but if you set foot in the ring against the Road Warrior the same fate is going to happen to you. Pick any wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation and their fate will be the same: going down to my Road Warrior. ------ Another video played, this time showing Hulk Hogan in front of that generic background. Hulk Hogan Well, you know something, Hulkamaniacs, for several weeks now Ivan Koloff has been messing in my business. Yeah, you just can't learn to keep your mouth shut can you, brother? What you're not realizing is that you're opening yourself up to a whole world of hurt. Take a look in the eyes of each and every one of these Hulkamaniacs, dude. Each and every one of them out here bleeds American red, white and blue, brother. So how about at Summerslam we have a match pitting you and me. The power of the bald Russian Army against the power of the Hulkamaniacs! No one to come out and stop me from showing American force against you, no politics to keep me from beating you, brother. Whatcha gonna do, Ivan Koloff? WHATCHA GONNA DO when the power of America and the power of Hulkamania runs wild over you?!?!?! ------ vs. Semi-Finals of Light Heavyweight Title Tournament Tim Horner vs. Eddie Gilbert The Candyman Tim Horner is looking for revenge here as Eddie Gilbert attacked him a couple of weeks back following his match to get this far. Hot Stuff reversed a roll-up and grabbed the tights, getting the pinfall and he will head on to Summerslam to take on Tiger Mask for the Light Heavyweight Title! Winner: Eddie Gilbert Match Time: 4:39 Match Rating: E ------ The attention turned toward the announce booth and Vince and Gorilla. Vince McMahon Summerslam is less than a week away and we have some great matches lined up on the card, including two Steel Cage matches as Bob Backlund defends his WWF World Heavyweight Title against the Masked Superstar in a match that if the Masked Superstar loses he has to unmask! Gorilla Monsoon And a match that they have to reinforce the ring for as Andre the Giant takes on Big John Studd inside that steel cage as well! Vince McMahon Plus Don Muraco will be defending the Intercontinental Title against Pedro Morales in Morales' last shot for the title. Tony Atlas, Rocky Johnson, you're gonna continue to be out on patrol looking for these belts but they're gonna be officially wrapped around our waists at Summerslam, yeah! ------ vs. The Wild Samoans vs. Ivan Putski and Tito Santana Captain Lou Albano made his way out to the ring and took a microphone from Howard Finkel, looking at Putski and Santana, who were already in the ring before addressing the crowd. Lou Albano Listen up all you halfwits in the audience. Everyone knows that I'm the brains of my group, my stable. I'm Captain Lou and I run the show. So let me introduce to you the new and improved Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans! The Samoans didn't really look any different as they walked down to the ring but they immediately charged Putski and Santana. Referee Dick Woehrle barely had any control within this contest as the Samoans went truly savage on both Putski and Santana. To punctuate the finish, Afa dropped Putski with a Samoan Drop and then got the pinfall. Winners: The Wild Samoans Match Time: 4:44 Match Rating: D Following the sounding of the bell, the Samoans attacked Tito Santana! Tito was lifted and dropped by an Afa Samoan Drop before Sika went to the top turnbuckle and leapt off with a Samoan Splash on top of a stacked Putski and Santana! ------ The attention turned toward another video, this time it had Gene Okerland and Ivan Koloff in front of a WWF background. Gene Okerland Hello ladies and gentlemen. I hope you've been enjoying your World Wrestling Federation action. I'm Mean Gene Okerland and my guest at this time is none other than the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff. Ivan, earlier tonight you were issued a challenge by Hulk Hogan to face him at Summerslam. Your response? Ivan Koloff Hulk Hogan is symptomatic of everything that is wrong within America. He thinks he can get by without a bit of wrestling talent. That would not work in Mother Russia. Russia trains the toughest athletes, not only in wrestling but in all other sports too. As far as his little challenge, if he wishes to be beaten by Russian Bear at Summerslam then that is fine. I accept his challenge but I will prove to him and to the world Russian superiority. ------ vs. Bob Backlund and Andre the Giant vs. The Masked Superstar, Big John Studd and Don Muraco And it's main event time within this handicap match. It was explained by Vince and Gorilla as being a handicap match because Pedro Morales couldn't make it to the ring due to the attack last week by Don Muraco and subsequent Hawaiian Hammer on the table. As one might expect, the bad guys dominated throughout this bout, using their extra team member advantage to their advantage while the Grand Wizard looked on proudly on the outside. The Masked Superstar pushed Andre into a Big Boot from Big John Studd that got a two count on the Giant. Andre eventually powered out of a pin attempt and was able to make the tag to a hot and ready Bob Backlund! The Champ slugged all three members of the Grand Wizard's team, turning his focus to the legal man of the Masked Superstar. He took him down with a Belly to Belly Overhead Suplex! Andre got in on the mix when Studd and Muraco tried to come in and Studd and Muraco took a double noggin knocker for their trouble! But referee Dick Woehrle began pushing Andre out of the ring and that is when the Grand Wizard jumped into the ring with his cane! The Masked Superstar grabbed Backlun from behind and held him as the Grand Wizard wound up with the cane... CEERACK!!! Backlund ducked out of the way, though, and the Grand Wizard hit the Masked Superstar! The Grand Wizard's eyes went wide and Backlund threw him over the top rope to the outside before turning his attention back to the Masked Superstar. He slipped in behind him and locked in an Atomic Spinecrusher! Backlund quickly made the cover... 1... 2... 3!!! Backlund and Andre beat the odds here tonight and Backlund stands tall with his WWF World Heavyweight Title belt. Will we be seeing that at Summerslam??? Winners: Bob Backlund and Andre the Giant Match Time: 6:16 Match Rating: B- Final Rating: C- TV Rating: 1.48

WWF Summerslam Sunday, Week 4, July 1983 Hersheypark Arena Hershey, Pennsylvania Attendance: 7,157 The fans are slowly packing their way into the arena. It's not quite a sell-out crowd here in Hershey Pennsylvania but the fans seem jacked about the action tonight. Inside the ring, the usual ring announcers of Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon stand ready to address the crowd. Vince McMahon Good evening everyone and WELCOME to Summerslam! As you all know, I am Vince McMahon and this is my broadcast partner Gorilla Monsoon. Tonight you are going to see some great action, including two matches that take place within the confines of a steel cage as Andre the Giant takes on Big John Studd and the Masked Superstar looks to wrestle the WWF World Heavyweight Title away from Bob Backlund. Gorilla Monsoon That's right, Vince. What a show we have here tonight! We're also going to see the hated Russian Bear Ivan Koloff take on the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Pedro Morales gets one more shot at the WWF Intercontinental gold as he takes on the Magnificent One Don Muraco. Though the condition of Pedro Morales' neck is unknown at this time. But we're going to kick things off tonight with a beauty as the finals of the WWF Light Heavyweight Title tournament take place between Eddie Gilbert and Tiger Mask. ------ vs. WWF Light Heavyweight Title Match Tiger Mask vs. Eddie Gilbert The crowd only slightly stirred at the entrances of Tiger Mask and Eddie Gilbert. Gilbert did his best yelling at the crowd and trying to get them to hate him before the match started. Once the bell sounded, Tiger Mask worked to start things off quickly against Gilbert with a dropkick and a quick armdrag on the self-proclaimed Hot Stuff. Gilbert rolled outside the ring, shaking his head and trying to recover and was the victim of a suicide dive to the outside by Tiger Mask! The crowd definitely cheered for Mask as he pulled Gilbert into the ring and got a two count. Tiger Mask ascended the turnbuckles and executed a picture-perfect moonsault! The only problem was that he landed in a heap on the mat, instead of on top of Gilbert. Gilbert choked Tiger Mask against the ropes and then bounced off the ropes, leaping on top of the japanese representative. Gilbert poked Tiger Mask in the eyes and continued to use those cheap moves to maintain the advantage. The bout came to it's conclusion when Tiger Mask bounced off the ropes and tried a thesz press but Gilbert was falling so he reversed it into a Hot Shot! He quickly rolled Tiger Mask up into a small package and we have a NEW Light Heavyweight Champion! Winner: Eddie Gilbert Match Time: 6:47 Match Rating: D+ Following the match, as Gilbert was handed the Light Heavyweight Title by referee Dick Woehrle, Tiger Mask slowly got to his feet. The Japanese product approached Gilbert and offered a handshake. Gilbert stood there thinking about for a moment before shoving his Light Heavyweight Title belt into Tiger Mask's face and then walking off to boos from the crowd! ------ The crowd grew quiet as a video played up on the titantron, showing the history between Soul Patrol and the Superstar and the Body dating back to the last big show where Soul Patrol was challenged. ------ vs. WWF World Tag Team Titles Match Soul Patrol defend against the Superstar and the Body Our second of two straight title matches as Soul Patrol defend their WWF World Tag Team Titles against Billy Graham and Jesse Ventura. Definitely four big strong power wrestlers and the first few minutes of the match was spent posing by both teams. Graham or Ventura would start the posing and then it would be responded by Mr. U.S.A. Tony Atlas or The Soulman Rocky Johnson. Graham baited Johnson into a posing contest while Ventura attacked him from behind to really get the in-ring action going. Ventura and Graham focused in on Johnson, keeping him down and in their corner and using quick tags on the Soulman. Whenever Johnson would fight out of the corner, they'd always distract the referee to keep him from seeing the tag that was made so he'd pull Tony Atlas out of the ring while the bad guys worked over Johnson. Ventura was using a shoulder grip on Johnson when the crowd started getting into it and cheering for Rocky to break the hold. Johnson powered up to his feet and Ventura released the hold and went for a punch but it was blocked by the Soulman! Johnson headbutted Ventura and then pulled him over toward the Superstar and hit a double noggin knocker with the ropes being the only thing holding both men up. Johnson fell to his knees in the ring and started to crawl toward his corner. Ventura tagged in the Superstar but Johnson somersaulted into his corner and in came Mr. U.S.A.! Atlas clotheslined the Superstar and then Ventura in the corner! He bounced off the ropes and dropped the Superstar with a bulldog. Atlas turned toward Ventura and took him out with a football tackle! In came Rocky Johnson focusing his attention on Ventura as Atlas turns back toward the Superstar! Graham swings a punch wildly but Atlas ducks and is in the perfect place to lock on his Full Nelson and does so! The Superstar flexes his muscles, trying to get out but Atlas has a firm grip! Ventura is nowhere to be seen outside the ring as the hold is in the middle of the ring! Atlas cinches it in tighter and the Superstar has no choice but to give! Soul Patrol retain their WWF World Tag Team Titles! Winners: Soul Patrol Match Time: 10:06 Match Rating: C- ------ Following the mayhem within the ring, Lou Albano comes out with his Wild Samoans to boos from the crowd. They step inside the ring and Captain Lou has a microphone. Lou Albano Everybody boos me because they know that I am the captain that stirs this ship of destruction. You can boo me all you want but it won't change the fact that these two men behind me are the two most savage wrestlers to ever step foot inside a wrestling ring. They are the most savage wrestlers ever born! And I know that no one wants to get into the ring with them but we have found two men who are willing to get thrown to the beasts. Two men accepted my open challenge. Come on out! ------ vs. The Wild Samoans vs. The Fantastics One of the newest teams to grace the squared circle, the Fantastics came out to a mild crowd reaction. They want anyone to shut Captain Lou Albano up. However on this night he would not be quieted as the Wild Samoans did a dismantling of the Fantastics, negating their speed advantage with raw power when they caught them. Afa put Bobby Fulton away with a pinfall after a Samoan Splash! Winners: The Wild Samoans Match Time: 5:31 Match Rating: D+ ------ Following that match, the fans turned their attention back to the Titantron as a video began to play showcasing the feud between Don Muraco and Pedro Morales. The end of the video showed Morales lying limp on the ground and being looked at by doctors along with a chant of 'Pedro, Pedro!' ------ vs. WWF Intercontinental Title Match Don Muraco vs. Pedro Morales The Magnificent One came to the ring in all his splendor along with the WWF Intercontinental Title. He handed it to referee Dick Woehrle, who held it up for all to see. Pedro Morales' music began to play but no one came out. Muraco stood in the corner and smirked, thinking that he's taken Pedro Morales out of the picture for good. He went over and spoke with the referee, who began a ten count. At about 4, there was a stirring and then at 6, Pedro Morales came out from the back wearing a neck brace! Muraco looked furious, telling the referee to count faster! Morales made it into the ring with one second to spare! Muraco immediately kicked at the neck of his opponent and the match was truly on. That neck brace of Morales was like a bull's eye target and Muraco went right for it. He kicked at it and dropped a few knees against the neck. Then he signalled for it. He looked to the crowd, laughing and crowing as he picked up Morales for that Hawaiian Hammer but Morales wouldn't go! The crowd cheered as Pedro Morales began laying several punches into the gut of the Champ before an uppercut staggered the Magnificent One! Morales rubbed at his neck as, by this time, Muraco had fully torn off the neck brace and then picked up a charging Muraco, dropping him with a body slam that had the crowd rocking and reeling! Morales picked up Muraco and whipped him into the corner, charging in with a clothesline! Muraco staggered from the corner and Morales picked him up, bringing him down with a Knee Drop Backbreaker! He made the cover... 1... 2... 3!!! We have a brand NEW Intercontinental Champion! Winner: Pedro Morales Match Time: 10:39 Match Rating: C+ The crowd erupts into cheers as Morales is handed the gold belt! The crowd is loving it as Pedro holds it up for them and then slides out of the ring, joining the crowd and being mobbed by them in victory! What a victory for Pedro Morales! ------ vs. The Road Warrior vs. Jules Strongbow The crowd booed as Bobby Heenan led the Road Warrior down to the ring for the next bout. Jules Strongbow was already in the ring and the Road Warrior just clotheslined him down. What a cheap shot! The Road Warrior dominated Strongbow in this match, tossing him outside the ring and distracting the referee so Heenan could get in a shot or two before Strongbow made it back in the ring. The Road Warrior picked up the pinfall following a Shoulder Mounted Suplex. Winner: The Road Warrior Match Time: 3:45 Match Rating: C- ------ The Titantron lit up again with a backstage area showing Lord Alfred Hayes and Ivan Koloff. Lord Alfred Hayes Hello everyone, Lord Alfred Hayes here with the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff. Ivan, tonight you will be taking on the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Lately you've been dishing out insult after insult and tonight you have the opportunity to back it up. Your thoughts? Ivan Koloff My thoughts? My thoughts are simple at the moment. Hulk Hogan, I know you're in the back listening to me. I know you're lacing up those boots wondering if you can step into the ring with a true Russian Champion. Let me save you the beating and tell you that you cannot compete with the Russian Bear. I am a former WWF World Champion for a reason. I beat the best America has to offer. And tonight the Russian Bear is going to beat you! ------ After that video faded, the Titantron showed Gene Okerland alongside Hulk Hogan. Gene Okerland Hello wrestling fans. Mean Gene Okerland here with the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Hulk, tonight you have the weight of millions of Americans on your back as you step into the ring against Ivan Koloff. What must be going through your mind? Hulk Hogan Well you know something Mean Gene Hulk Hogan always has this huge weight on his shoulders, brother. It comes from being the representative of Hulkamania and representing each and every one of these Hulkamaniacs out there. Ivan Koloff can talk about having been the WWF World Champion in the past but that's just that. It's in the past, dude. In the present, tonight, you have to ask yourself one question, dude: whatcha gonna do? That's right, brother, whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania and all these American Hulkamaniacs runs wild over you?!?! ------ vs. Ivan Koloff vs. Hulk Hogan The Russian Bear and Colonel Ninotchka came out to boos from the crowd, standing in their corner and talking over strategy. "When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside. You've gotta be a man, it won't help to hide! When you hurt my friend then you hurt my pride I've gotta be a man. I can't let it slide!" The music of Hulkamania brought the fans to their feet in cheers as Hulk Hogan walked out, pointing right to the ring! He slid inside and met Koloff with punches! The crowd yelled along with each punch and Hogan wound up and then connected with another one that sent Koloff out of the ring! Hogan cupped his ear to cheers from the crowd before ripping off his shirt and pointing down at Koloff and Ninotchka. Ninotchka covered her ears, trying to get the crowd to quiet down but it was electric! Koloff slid back in the ring and the U.S.A. chants began! Koloff covered his ears, trying to block out the sound and then just seemed to get angry. He charged Hogan but Hogan sidestepped him, ducking a Russian Sickle attempt! Koloff bounced off the ropes and Hogan back body dropped him! Hogan flexed his muscles and then charged toward Koloff but Koloff dropped down, tugging down the top rope and sending Hogan crashing to the outside. Koloff pointed to his head, showing that he is smarter than everyone here. He distracted the referee while Colonel Ninotchka put some boots to Hogan. Hogan slowly got to his feet and pointed toward Ninotchka! The Colonel stepped back a few paces as Koloff climbed outside the ring and attacked Hogan from behind. The Russian Bear focused his attention on Hogan's back during the next few minutes, ramming it against the ring post on the outside and then back inside, he dropped a knee into it and then grabbed Hogan's arms and pulled back in a surfboard with Hogan crying out in pain. The crowd started that U.S.A. chant again but Hogan couldn't get out of the hold! Finally, Koloff released it and dropped an elbow on Hogan. He turned him over and made a cover... 1... 2... HARD KICKOUT BY HOGAN!! Hogan got to his knees, shaking his head and feeding off the energy from the crowd of Americans here in Pennsylvania! Koloff fired punch after punch to Hogan but Hogan no-sold it all! Hogan got to his feet and then pointed at Koloff, wagging his finger in the air! He blocked a Koloff punch and fired one of his own at the Russian Bear! A second one! A third one sent Koloff back into the ropes. Hogan grabbed Koloff and whipped him across but Koloff pulled referee Dick Kroll into the way of the big boot! The referee was knocked down and out! Hogan's eyes went wide and he checked on the condition of referee Dick Kroll as Ivan was handed that large, thick metal chain by Colonel Ninotchka! Koloff snuck over and wrapped it around Hogan's neck, choking the life out of him to boos from the crowd! Hogan grabbed the chain but couldn't pull it away and the Russian Bear brought Hogan down to his knees by choking him with the chain. Colonel Ninotchka entered the ring with a steel chair as Koloff released a blue-faced Hogan. The referee was starting to stir slightly as Ninotchka brought the chair down on Hogan's back but Hogan no-sold it! He popped back up to massive cheers from the crowd, turning back toward Ninotchka! The Colonel dropped the chair and slid out of the ring. Hogan picked it up and turned to look toward Ivan Koloff, who had the chain ready. Then...the bell rang? Howard Finkel asked the referee what the decision was and then made the announcement. Howard Finkel Ladies and gentlemen, due to the amount of weapons within the ring, the referee has ruled this match a draw due to double disqualification! The crowd booed that as Hogan and Koloff stared each other down until they both slid out of the ring. Winner: Draw - Double DQ Match Time: 13:21 Match Rating: B+ ------ Intermission. ((And there's your first half of the Summerslam card. The rest will be posted soon. I hope everyone enjoys and I'm looking forward to any comments you might have.))
