After the fireworks pop throughout this arena here in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the cameras pan around a sold out, and very vocal crowd here in the home of the great Indy 500, Goldberg's marching music starts... MARTHA STEWART! MARTHA STEWART! MARTHA STE.. Wait a second, I think I have got their chants wrong. Or, perhaps someone pressed the wrong button and piped in the wrong chant... GOLDBERG! GOLDBERG! GOLDBERG! Our cameras went to the back, where Bill Goldberg pumped his forehead into a blue locker door, and flanked by Doug Dillenger and the fun police (watch out all you rebel poster boys in the crowd, Doug's gonna make a fool out of you), escorted Bill from the back towards the Gorilla Position. He walked forth to the bottom of the ramp, where an amazing series of steaming blasts went seemingly through him, covering him, before exploding with him snarling and thrusting his left and right biceps. "And guys, what a last few weeks this has been for Bill Goldberg," Tony Schiavone says from the commentary position. "You know Tony, these humanoids aren't smart enough to realise a powerhouse when they see one. He's got the speed and dexterity of Marvin Harrison, the power of a Chris Hinton, he's everything the Colts would need to be a respectable team, Tony," Heenan comments. "This man right here has walked into a situation he can't dodge," Zbysko comments. "I think Ric Flair is right that perhaps, just perhaps, Bill Goldberg has bitten off more than even he can chew. The Giant IS THE most dangerous man in all of professional sports, bar none, not even Goldberg himself is as dangerous, as powerful as the Giant, himself a young prodigy who has already attained so much in such a short space of time."
Bill Goldberg v Hiroyoshi Tenzan I'm not sure what NJPW had in mind sending Hiroyoshi back to the states for this match. Nothing good could really come of it. Hiroyoshi himself is a stiff and powerful young man, but Goldberg shook off his offence and was overbooked to be a powerful goliath tonight to send a powerful signal to the Giant. Result: Your winner, Bill Goldberg
Backstage, the Giant looks on bitterly on a television set in his dressing room, as we cut to a commercial break. Upon our return, a graphic pops up highlighting that tonight, with the special guest judge Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell, Miss Elizabeth and Kimberly Page will meet in the middle of the ring for an Evening Gown competition.
A Mystery Opponent v 'The Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus 'The Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus waits patiently in the ring as 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart is barely visible as the arena goes dim, and Hart leads out what we can only tell is a very strong looking figure, hidden in a dark robe. Once the ring lights come back on, we can see the figure is... "I... I have no idea..," Tony Schiavone remarks. "We know that you hamenegger," Heenan retorts. "I'm getting word from the back that his name is... Mike Awesome..." Tony Schiavone comments. 'Professor' Mike Tenay who has joined the commentary team notes "What an exciting debut, guys. As a student of the Japanese scene this guy is an international superstar, having battled many of the biggest names from the Orient including a brutal feud with Masato Tanaka." Hugh Morrus tries to mount an attack, but largely its futile as Mike Awesome overpowers the brutally powerful Morrus. Morrus went to the outside to get some time out, but Awesome hit an ... well, awesome... suicide dive type move to continue the assault. The commentators freaked out as if they'd seen the ghost of Abraham Lincoln and Napoleon Bonaparte all in one. After a quick encounter, Morrus was launched into a frightening looking Powerbomb, with Awesome merely placing his right boot over the fallen corpse of Morrus as the referee counted the pin. Result: Your winner, Mike Awesome
After the match, 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart got in the ring with his megaphone and stood over Morrus... "What do you think about this... baby?!!!!" 'Professor' Mike Tenay left the commentary position briefly and entered the ring where a clearly excited Jimmy Hart stood alongside this new behemoth. "Jimmy Hart, what a surprise to see you bring this man to the ring," Tenay commented. "I like to think that my sources gather all the inside information, but this one got past me. What is the intent of Mike Awesome being here in World Championship Wrestling?" "Baby! Aha! I've been in charge of the best of them all, man! I've managed the Hart Foundation at their peak, I've wrestled King Kong Bundy when he was so good baby that he was able to beat a man in 9 seconds... NINE SECONDS! Aha! I've looked after the Immortal Hulk Hogan at his peak, but baby, I don't know in my 20 years if I've ever been as excited to manage an entertainment superstar as this colossus. Baby, not only is he the biggest and the baddest in this jungle at 300 pounds and 6'7" tall man! But he's also going to be the most charismatic, baby..." "Charismatic?" "Aha, baby that's right. You see, together with the Mouth of the South I've promised this man mansions, I've promised him beautiful women, I've promised him movies, I've promised him sit coms, and all this man has to do is what comes naturally to him. Destroy people..." "Jimmy, I don't know what to say..." "Aha baby, you don't have to say anything. Let Mike's actions do the talking... Now if you'll excuse me baby ahahaa... its time to go party!" Awesome follows his mentor, as a quick paced heavy metal beat follows Mike Awesome out of the arena. What an impressive debut! A graphic pops up on screen highlighting that tonight, 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit will defend his United States Championship against Scott Hall! Backstage, we cut to the back entrance, where a black limousine pulls up. 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, the Outsiders are chapareuned out, with Nash massaging Hall's shoulders to relax him before tonight's big match, as we cut to a commercial break. Lizmark raced in the ring but received a Kenka Kick for his troubles, allowing Muta to make the cover. Result: Your winners, nWo Japan
Backstage, Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell is putting his black top hat on, which looks ridiculous given he's wearing a tux. This was a quick match showing the power of the Steiners, who ended the match, and WHB's chances, mercilessly quickly with Scott hitting the phenomenal Frankeinsteiner on Lodi for the win. Sadly, for any Nagata fans, you're not going to like me for what went down here (Answer, Yuji Nagata)... Result: Your winner, the Giant
After Yuji Nagata finally came to, he looked up and seen a much smaller, and more latino, version of the Giant. When the stars stopped circling his head, he realised that it was Eddie Guerrero the WCW Television Champion taunting him to get the hell out of his ring. Once Nagata was assisted from the ring, the Champion addressed the Indiana patrons. "Esse, holmes. Indianapolis... Yeah, you esses... Are NOT... Latinos. You are NOT.... what I stand for. You are NOT... Who this belt represents. Don't blame the holmes, blame the latino revolution game. So tonight, I bring the challenge of latino excellence here to the centre of the United States, esse, because tonight, I issue an open challenge to any of my latino brothers..." Just then, the nWo music begins, and stepping out under the Turner-Tron is 'K-Dawg' Konnan. His drawers are hanging up entirely too high, but who am I to judge, I prefer Katherine Heigl to Pamela Anderson so maybe my judgment isn't the best in some peoples eyes and maybe Konnan's fashion sense is also good in others eyes. Call me old fashioned, but at least he could wear fresh drawers... "Ora Le! Ariba La Raza! Indianapolis, Indiana! Are you ready to get bawdy bawdy and..." RAWDY RAWDY! "Ahhh yeah. See this?" Konnan speaks on this as he touches his bandana. "Touch it.... That's enough. Eddie Guerrero, I'm here, you're here...lets do 'dis!" Konnan runs down to the ring, ... well, waddles as quickly as he can, as Eddie awaits his challenge.
WCW Television Championship Eddie Guerrero (c) v 'K-Dawg' Konnan Konnan came with a fist flurry, and was generally off the pace and sadly lacking. You could almost sense Konnan call out "choke hold... rest spot... rest spot...", and it kind of ruined the lustre of the match. Guerrero tried to sell Konnan competitively, but it was almost merciful that a shoddy cross ring chain wrestling spot allowed Eddie to get Konnan off his belly and his beached back long enough for Guerrero to hit the Frog Splash from the top for the win. Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW Television Champion, Eddie Guerrero
Segments from a prerecorded promo session with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart play. The frustration was evident on the powerful Wrath's face when Booker T took down Curry Man with the Harlem Hangover for the win. Result: Your winners, Harlem Heat
We cut to the pre-recorded interview with 'Mean' Gene Okerlund sitting down in a private office with the leader of the nWo, and WCW Executive Eric Bischoff. "Well Eric Bischoff, I thank you for the opportunity to talk to you today." Bischoff nods his head in approval. "Eric, many within the industry have criticised your match with the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, whereby you may have assassinated his career by the dubious means of using your nWo army to attack Flair. What do you have to say about that?" "Gene, I've always been a big believer in that its not how you get the job done, its ... have you got the job done. I was placed in a very difficult position and continue to find myself in the position where clearly for the interests of the nWo, and hence forth the interests of professional wrestling, and I genuinely believe that the nWo is the future of wrestling by way of revolution, that for the nWo to move forward in this wrestling civil war we needed to destroy Ric Flair. We needed to physically destroy him, mentally destroy him, and take down every legacy the man has had. Now I'm quite prepared to put my heart and soul into this venture of eliminating Flair, of embarrassing Flair, because frankly professional wrestling transcends everyone, and no man, not even Ric Flair himself, is bigger than the industry which made him famous." "I don't understand why you would need to destroy Ric Flair for the good of professional wrestling to advance. Perhaps your attention should be elsewhere." "Elsewhere? Like where, Gene? Should I go to the ring and call out Vince McMahon? Gene, its one step at a time, and I'm very much aware of where the nWo is, and I'm quite confident that the nWo and the critical success that I have engineered with it will perform the objectives I have for it. Of course there are other fish to fry than Ric Flair, but I'm a believer in not getting too far ahead of yourself and finishing the job off right. Its like a domino effect Gene, if you knock off Ric Flair, all those other politicians and pessimists who have held back this industry like Sting, like Bret Hart, like Vince McMahon, like Pay Heyman, they'll all come tumbling down. And it will all be thanks to myself, and the New World Order. Without the New World Order Gene, professional wrestling stagnates, we go back to bingo halls. This is a new product for a new era, and its high time that people like Arn Anderson, Sting, Bret Hart, Raven, Chris Benoit and Ric Flair himself realised that for the betterment of professional wrestling standards, and the future of this great sport that no man is bigger than the sport, and that the future is the revolution that is the New World Order. This leaves them with two clear choices, to sign their contracts over to the New World Order, or leave this organisation. How is their choice, the easy way or the hard way, it really doesn't matter..." "Were you surprised that Ric Flair is still here at this stage in the professional wrestling mother of all wars?" "Ric Flair is an institution, Gene. Even I acknowledge that. I acknowledge that Rome wasn't built in a day. But you know what Gene, there were archaic institutions from times gone by that made no sense whatsoever to us in modern times but made every sense in those times. Eventually you have pioneers who can see through the mist of distruths and can plot a successful course of evolutions, people like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, Eric Bischoff, exceptional leaders with great strategic visions. Great dreams. I have a dream, Gene. I have a dream. One day Gene people will see there is no need for obstacles like Ric Flair, and if it means I put myself out there for future generations to succeed because of what the nWo is engineering, the revolution it endears to the future generations of professional wrestlers worldwide, so be it. But I can assure you, one day the war will be over, Ric Flair will have been defeated, and we will all sit back and say thank you to what we thought was an unnecessary evil as being a vital saviour of the sport we know and love..." We cut back to the commentary table, where Bobby Heenan and Larry Zbysko in particular shake their heads at the mere improprietory and astonishing lack of humility of Eric Bischoff to compare himself to the likes of Lincoln and the great Martin Luther King Jr...
Jerry Lynn v 'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith Smith tried to overpower the youngster Lynn with a series of shoulder blocks, trying to prevent Lynn from using chain wrestling to speed the pace of the match up. And his initial dominance appeared to be paying off. But slowly but surely Jerry Lynn fought back, and in a series of aggressive high flying spots was able to recapture the momentum of the match. After a quick exchange, Jerry Lynn was able to put an inside cradle roll up on Davey Boy for a quick 1...2...3 and a surprise upset here in WCW. Result: Your winner, Jerry Lynn
Backstage, both Kimberly Page, and Miss Elizabeth are walking towards the Gorilla Position in black long trenchcoats, as we cut to a commercial break. After the break, the beautiful vixen Kimberly Page and the innocent angel Miss Elizabeth stand in the opposite sides of the ring, with Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell pouncing around like the weasal he is. "Ahahaha... Welcome to the inaugural WCW ... and nWo.... Monday Nitro ... Sorry, Monday Jericho... Evening Gown contest. Ladies and gentlemen, over my years I have loved many beautiful women, much prettier than any of the hounds in the audience here tonight, but thats to be expected, this is Indianapolis... But ladies and gentlemen, what you are about to see is a feast in beauty personified!! So, without further adieu, dim the lights, and hit HER music!" Pomp and Circumstance starts, but before it can hit the main bridge it descends into a sensual slow mix, and the spotlight shines on the innocent Miss Elizabeth who shrugs her shoulders. Innocently she walks forward and walks in front of Bagwell who eggs her on. This time the shrug of her shoulders is more confident, and after a quick move or two in the ring, she drops the coat to show a beautiful light pink evening gown. The crowd is amazed and fixated on her beauty, as he wiggles one more time in the ring. "Aha.. That was... Great! Anytime Randy goes nuts, give me a call! Aha! Now, if you could dim the lights... and hit HER music..." Smells Like Teen Spirit starts but again bridges into a slightly quicker, slightly more techno mix overlaid with a sexy saxophone, as Kimberly moves forward, flirts in from of Buff and dismissively turns her head away from Miss Elizabeth. After a straddle of the chair laid out in front of her, she drops the coat to show a black nWo evening gown. This does not get a good reception. Its quite clear who the winner is here, ladies and gentlemen. "Oh my! Wow! Aha! You've not only made my job hard... Aha, I kid, I kid... I think. Hmmmmm, you gals are foxes. But I am still the stuff, and I'm man enough to be able to handle two beautiful women at once, so ladies and gentlemen, I give you the winner, as voted on by yours truly and the Indianapolis fans, ..... KIMBERLY PAGE!" Bagwell flicks her the nWo signal, as Miss Elizabeth shakes her head, and the crowd boos vociferously. Kimberly grabs the flowers that she's given and throws them in the face of Miss Elizabeth, who begins to look upset. Just before Kimberly can slap Miss Elizabeth, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage runs in and stands in the way of Kimberly. She steps back, but instantly her husband comes out and stands toe to toe with 'Macho Man'. "OOOOOH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA! Dig it! Diamond Dallas Page, I'm a man of very few words and a man of action. I believe in the power of the hand man yeah and I can tell you yeah that tonight was a calamity. It was an outrage. It was a scam yeah. And I don't dig that. At Road Wild brother, I want you.. yeah, you... One on one... YEAHHHHH, can you dig that?" Page nods and flashes the sign of the Diamond Cutter. Savage nods and begins to leave, but Page goes to drop him with a Diamond Cutter but Savage is aware and breaks the grip before he can snap it, and rolls out of the ring.
'Macho Man' Randy Savage v Perry Saturn Its probably an unfortunate time to encounter Savage when the adrenalin is clearly running through his veins, when the madness is incited. And despite some innovative maneouvers from Perry Saturn, he was always on a hiding to nothing. After a good if slow match, Savage ended it with the Flying Elbow Smash for the pinfall. Result: Your winner, Randy Savage
Backstage, Goldberg is in the Four Horsemen dressing room as 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit laces up his boots, and walks out. This leaves just Goldberg and 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson. Goldberg walks up to Anderson, and jaws up to him. "Great match tonight, Bill..." "Do you think he's right...?" "Do I think whose right?" "Ric Flair. You've heard him. I don't think he thinks I can beat the Giant. What do you think?" Anderson looks at them, and then begins to grin. "I believe you've got a tank of courage Bill, I really do." "What are you trying to say..?" "I'm just saying that... Look, what I'm saying is that you are a Four Horsemen. We don't wear white hats, we aren't always nice men, and people have to be careful of what they ask for. If any man harms one of our own, he should come prepared with a self addressed body bag. What I'm saying is you are a Four Horsemen, you've got the adrenalin of the Apocalypse running through your veins man. And what I'm saying to you Bill Goldberg is, for your career, the sky is the limit. Its up to you Bill, its up to you... Its up to you to decide, .... Whose Next.......!" Of the nWo big men, Hall is probably the best mover, and probably the most logical wrestler. Benoit is probably the best there is in WCW now, save perhaps, perhaps, Bret Hart. Both men were apprehensive realising all that was at stake, and it was a slow build before the initial lock up. Hall used his superior height to gain leverage, but Benoit used wide vertical bases to move around Hall and change grips and locks to keep his own momentum. This was a terrific match, one of the best on Nitro in a while. What made it so good was the amount of near falls, lovingly built up with meaning and logic, building the crowd's heat up perfectly, and then peering it out with despair, comebacks, cheating and vengeance. It was artfully crafted to say the least. After a long period of backwards and forth action, to-ing and fro-ing action, with Hall trying every trick in the book you could sense frustration on his part. He made the signal to the back, and out ran 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash. Nash slid in the ring and immediately hit the big boot on the head of Benoit, meaning for Nick Patrick to call for the bell. Result: Your winner, via disqualification, and STILL WCW United States Champion, Chris Benoit
Post match, with Benoit dazed, Hall picked up Benoit and dropped him with authority with the Outsiders Edge! The two Outsiders celebrated their success in the middle of the ring, before Bill Goldberg ran down to ringside causing the Outsiders to flea cowardly...

As the blue pyros burst out in the background, and the cameras pan around the crowd, we fade into our three man commentary team, 'Iron' Mike Tenay, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes... "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another night of wrestling excellence as the war between World Championship Wrestling and the New World Order intensifies, live, here on the SuperStation, TBS! I'm 'Iron' Mike Tenay and with me tonight, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes, and guys, tonight, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the action inte... Guys, I'm getting a message in my ear piece, right! Let's go backstage to 'Mean' Gene Okerlund..." We cut back to the Thunder Interview Centre, where 'Mean' Gene Okerlund stands by. When the camera pans back to reveal his guest as Eric Bischoff, the anti n-W-o crowd boos in unison. Bischoff smiles as the boos intensify. "Alright guys, I thank you," Okerlund begins. "Eric Bischoff, tonight the wild ride continues as the Harley's wind up towards Road Wild at Sturgis. And you yourself, and your n-W-o chronies have been riding together through the South Dakota countryside and we find ourselves here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Now, you've called me out here, what is the intention of your request?" "Intention? Gene, might I remind you, I still sign the cheques around here. Let me remind you that I am the man who is leading this organisation to a successful future. Let me remind all those fans out there that without Eric Bischoff, Thunder would not be here live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Now, with all that said and done, the war rolls on. Despite it all, despite everything I have done for this organisation, for the roster of wrestlers behind in these lockerrooms, there is still dissent. There is still a revolt against my authority. Despite even offering every member of the roster a 30 day period to turn their contracts over to the n-W-o and enjoy the fortunes that came with it, we still find enemies trying to stop progress. So tonight, I thought, if they want to make this show all about wrestling and not about the progression of wrestling, I thought I'd let them have an opportunity. I can't be anymore generous than that, can I? So tonight, Gene, fans, tonight, Sting you will face.... The Giant. And Chris Benoit, tonight... you will defend your United States Championship against.... RAVEN! God, I love this job!"
WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament Harlem Heat v WCW Cruiserweight Champion Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger and Psicosis A high quality tag team opener here for Thunder. Lyger and Psicosis tore it up to get the crowd hot, but a couple of cheap tricks from Stevie Ray coupled with his strength turned the tide. For the next several minutes HArlem Heat kept Psicosis and Lyger tied to the mat, tiring them out, using their extra strength and cutting the corners off extremely well. Eventually the crowd got back in behind Psicosis, who managed to beat a lazy lariat by Stevie Ray, come back with a slide through and then hit the middle rope for a twisting corkscrew plancha type move. Psicosis quickly tagged in Lyger who kept a very fast pace, knocking over both Booker and Stevie Ray with crisp clotheslines. All looked good for Psicosis and Lyger, until Stevie Ray distracted referee Charles Robinson allowing Booker T to put a chokehold illegally on Jushin Lyger. With Lyger's energy zapped, Booker called over Robinson to stop Psicosis from rushing in. Booker sent Lyger back to the corner and with Stevie Ray holding back Lyger, Booker hit a standing 10 count. With Lyger battling on his feet, Booker was able to hit the Book-End for the 1-2-3. Result: Your winners, Harlem Heat
Post match, Psicosis stood over Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger, before finally offering his right hand and pulling the Cruiserweight Champion up. Psicosis held Lyger's arm up and seemed to be showing understanding and humility in the face of a tough defeat. -------- Backstage, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund introduced 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart, complete with his muscular new trophy, Mike Awesome. "Alright guys, Jimmy Hart, 'The Mouth of the South', on wcw.com this week you labelled Mike Awesome as your biggest coup..." "Baby! Haha! You're right I did Gene, and Sioux Falls South Dakota y'all know what I'm talking about. Haha! I've had Rhythm and Blues, I've King Kong Bundy, I've had the Hulkster himself, but baby I've never had a complete athlete like Mike Awesome! Look at the size of this man! Look at the power of this man! Baby are you excited! I'm excited! Haha!" "You also told wcw.com... Jimmy Hart, if I could have your full attention, that you thought Mike Awesome had the ability to be the next great World Heavyweight Champion." "Haha! Ability? It's a given. Power? It's a given. Charisma? It's a given! Look at this man, how can there be any doubts, come on Gene, y'all known me for a long time baby, you know I don't sing the blues. I told you I had tag team champions, and I produced the Hart Foundation, and I produced Rhythm and Blues. Baby I've had Randy Savage when he was a prodigy, I've had the big bad Nasty Boys, I've had the Natural Disasters...BOOM! But baby, this is the greatest moment of my entire life, man! My entire life! Its time to celebrate Gene, and baby, you can talk about being nasty, you can talk about having Hart, you can talk about madness, and you can talk about unfathomable natural disasters, but baby... none of it, none of it, can top ... The Age of Awesome!" ------ After the break, a video plays highlighting the WCW World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Chavo Guerrero Jr and Rey Mysterio Jr. The video looks at the quickness of the team, their agility, their excellent ability to tag quickly in and out and various images of some of the tough wins they've taken along the way to get to where they are at. He must be on overtime tonight... his extra special guest is the undefeated Bill Goldberg, who has with an A4 piece of paper. "Thank you guys, I have with me at this time a man who has conquered nearly everyone there is in professional wrestling, going through unscathed, undefeated. But Bill Goldberg, there is one man many critics feel you cannot beat..." "Cannot beat?" Goldberg grabs a pen from Okerlund's coat pocket and scribbles a signature on the bottom of the paper. "You see that Gene? Does it look like I'm scared? To some, I've just signed my life away. To me, I've just cleared another hurdle. Giant, at Road Wild... YOU'RE NEXT!" Result: Your winners, Kurt Angle and Jerry Lynn
Post match, as Kidman and Morrus roll from the ring, as Kidman looked back it was quickly noted that Jerry Lynn flashed a quick nod of acknowledgement to the young superstar. I saw it, it looked to me like you cheated victory..." "Shhhh... Don't tell anyone," Bagwell responds. "But esse, there's only true liar and cheater around here holmes, and it's not you... Konnan and Hennig had their opportunities, but lost their chance to reclaim tag team fame when Scott Steiner hit the Steiner Frankensteiner on Konnan to collect the pinfall. Result: Your winners, The Steiner Brothers
Backstage, as Buff Bagwell pounces his way towards the Gorilla Position he runs into 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. "Hey...Hey Yo!" Hall shouts out. "Buff, we could come on down and help give a little height advantage," Nash comments. "We could do that. We could take the Television Championship home to the n-W-o tonight. Or, you could defeat Eddie Guerrero of your own accord." "Yo, that little chico wannabe, he won't last with you, Bagwell. So tonight, Big Kev and I... we're going to a little main street hotel, and... we're going to have some fun down there..." "Down where?" "You know where. So Buff, tonight, from the big chico, make sure you ahh... show them why the nWo is filled with the original bad guys..." Bagwell nods, as Nash and Hall head off. I suppose you would say that, pretty much any match where Eddie Guerrero carries an opponent ends up being a solid match. Thankfully there was no shock value Championship swap tonight, with the latino heat man proving that latino heat magic always beats the Stuff. Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW Television Champion, Eddie Guerrero
Before we cut to a break, we cut to the back to see 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho signing autographs in the carpark. Nice contrasts of the belligerence of the British brawling style mixed with Regal's submission holds, and Kanyon and Saturn who innovate moves left right and centre. Saturn and Kanyon have been to the holy grail, but like Konnan and Hennig will not be heading back there anytime soon as Finlay sealed an upset win by turning the balance on Saturn with a tough Piledriver. Result: Your winners, The British Connection
Backstage, 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho is still signing autographs when Bret 'The Hitman' Hart rides his Harley Davidson up past him. Hart gets off his bike, oblivious that the World Heavyweight Champion was even there, and that Hart had inadvertently flicked some dust off the dusty drive in front of him onto the Armani dress coat of the Champion. Hart turned around to find the Champion standing in front of him... "What are you doing here?" Hart asks. "Oh... well, let me tell you. You see, this is MY show. I am THE World Heavyweight Champion. Incase you haven't heard, this is Thursday Jericho. And what I am doing right here? I'm demanding an apology," Jericho points to the mark on his jacket. "You're not Bill Clinton and I'm not Monica Lewinsky, Bret! I don't like stains on my clothing, Bret!" Hart stands there defiant, and then starts grinning. "Are you serious? Chris, if you're perturbed by a little dust, wait till I'm finished with you at Road Wild. You see, what you're going to learn is that I am the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!" Hart goes to walk off, but Jericho utters something under his breath.. "Your daddy is a phoney..." Hart turns around and races to start a brawl with Jericho, but before he can, Doug Dillenger and the fun police conveniently show up, and separate the two icons. It was like watching Ulysses Grant in action leading his men around compared to George McClennan in the Civil War. After thirteen minutes of subdued action, but action nonetheless that told all kinds of tales, Chris Benoit found himself on the outside of the ring, against all volition. You see, this is Raven territory. And Raven took advantage of the ruse and and ambushed Benoit soilidly, routing him with an inch of his life. Benoit was finally rolled back into the ring, as Raven rolled him and hooked the leg, but Benoit kicked out. Raven picked Benoit up and went for the Evenflow DDT but Benoit managed to slip out, and turned around quickly upon the stunned Raven to slip on the Crippler Crossface! Even Raven, who enjoys pain, was struggling, and quickly vanquished by passing out in the middle of the ring. Is the Crippler Crossface the most dangerous move in professional wrestling today? Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW United States Champion, Chris Benoit
Post match, we cut to a limousine, where in the back seat we see Scott Hall and 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash watching TV, and of course, tuned into the hottest show on Thursday night television, Frie.. I mean Thunder. "Yo, Kev... is that all they've got? I can see the original bad guy wearing more gold by the time Road Wild's out..." Nash smiles, and nods, as the limousine cruises off into the night. But what odds he had in front of him. The most powerful man in professional sports, a man who stands at over 7 foot tall, weighs over 500 pounds, and a man who can move. I wouldn't ever say the Giant was as quick as Rey Mysterio Jr, but the man could at one time in his career hit a devastating moonsault. Yep, believe it or not. And tonight he made the ropes rattle as he kept a steady pace against the veteran Sting. Sting tried valiantly, and then decided he needed to take a desperate measure. He went to the top rope, and the man who usually makes such calculated risks a great success failed, as Bret Hart appeared at the top of the ramp, causing Sting to lose concentration for a milli second, and as he went for a Super Scorpion Deathdrop, but en route to the mat, the Giant loosened his grip, gained hold of Sting's throat and dropped the legend with a Chokeslam! Result: Your winner, the Giant
Post match, 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho came to the ring through the crowd. Once in the ring, he laid down the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and stood with one foot over the vanquished body of Sting, with his arms held aloft. Bret Hart raced to the ring from the other side, pushed Jericho out of the ring, picked up the Championship and started slamming it into the face of the helpless Sting. Jericho got into the ring, and got confrontational with Hart. It appeared while Jericho was happy for Sting to be taken down, he was far from happy that someone else had stole his thunder. However, before all else, both men left the ring as Sting sat up! Jericho and Hart looked on in shock, as Sting WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOed to the crowd and started beating his chest!

Quick Tips WCW Television Championship: Eddie Guerrero (c) v Psicosis A great match, but I dont think Psicosis can carry the tilte like Eddie can Ladder Match: Juventud Guerrera v Ultimo Dragon Now this match would be fun.... Wrath v Scott Hall As much as I dont like Scott Hall, there is no way he loses to Adam Bomb, I mean Wrath WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament: Steiner Brothers v British Connection 'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay and 'Lord' Steven Regal) The Steiners are just to good, but this could certainly elevate The British Connection 'The Man of 1000 Holds' Dean Malenko v 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright A man, who can go hold for hold with anyone who has a no-nonsense style or a guy in a leather jacket dancing... I'll take Malenko Non Title Match: WCW Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio Jr and Chavo Guerrero Jr v Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith A non tile victory would be great for the British Foundation, I mean the Hart Bulldogs... I mean Neidhrt and Davey Boy WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament: Jerry Lynn and 'Your Olympic Hero' Kurt Angle v Harlem Heat I still see Harlem Heat as focal points of WCW and Tag team wrestling for that matter Bill Goldberg v 'Total Package' Lex Luger My least favorite match on the card.....I'll go with a screw job finsih and post match brawl... As I struggle to stay awake though this one

...
Welcome to another edition of CagedWrestlingNews.com, bringing you the very best in professional wrestling news as it comes hot off the wire. I am Leah Tard, and the tumultuous world of professional wrestling continues to heat up:

Extreme Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Heyman has open fire upon WCW Chief Mark Daniels for the recent acquisitions of Jerry Lynn and Mike Awesome. Heyman has sent out a scathing criticism of WCW saying that it became something off the back of WWF has-beens and has promised that his ability to create savage angles will show that Mike Awesome and Jerry Lynn were not the reason behind the recent success of the Philadelphia based promotion.
Bubba Ray Dudley has expressly criticised Mike Awesome in a recent underground article. He said it was tantamount to treason to leave ECW, particularly with the position ECW finds itself in currently - the position of being able to jump into a full scale national powerhouse or struggle financially. Bubba Ray has explicitly labelled Awesome a coward.
Hulk Hogan is believed to have been spotted with his family holidaying on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Fans who caught a glimpse of the former wrestling legend said they overheard that he was done with wrestling, would focus on his movie career and look forward to fully rehabilitating his recent hip operation.
Speaking of hip operations, the Ultimate Warrior has posted more unfathomable comments on his website. Included in his last tyrade is more shots at Vince McMahon, shots at Monica Lewinsky but surprisingly no shots at the President himself, and a not so well veiled attack on Hulk Hogan with the one known as Warrior claiming it was due to him that Hogan has been forced out of the industry. He didn't speculate what he meant by this, which we can only assume is a good thing given the recent state of mind of the Warrior.
Rumour has it World Championship Wrestling are looking to follow World Wrestling Federation's actions by having a celebrity sing to open Starrcade. Bandied around the table include Wycliff Jean, The Fugees, Aqua, A-ha, Steely Dan and Mariah Carey. WCW is said to be smitten with Aqua whom they believe will be the next hot act of the next decade, they believe the follow up to Barbie Girl, known as Dr Jones will attract much popular comment and many sales. More as it comes to hand.
Chris Jericho has recently attracted some heat backstage following his comments on the last edition of Thunder. In a humorous spot where Bret Hart splattered Jericho's Armani jacket, Jericho outburst off the cuff that he was not Monica Lewinsky and Bret Hart was not Bill Clinton. Wrath and Hugh Morrus who are both known to be vocal supporters of the United States President under siege are said to have shunned the Champion and demanded a formal apology. It is understood Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat and 'Living Legend' Larry Zbysko had to step in.
Speaking of humour, it is understood Al Snow will be a guest performer on Saturday Night Live, complete with Head. More on this as it comes to hand.
Tony Schiavone has started lobbying politically backstage to be returned to a permanent hosting role on Thunder. Recently, Mike Tenay has led the show which is performing strongly in TBS ratings, but Schiavone is said to be far from impressed. Make of this what you will, but Schiavone's meagre website has recently updated his biography to note that of his experience with NWA, WWF and WCW. Could Schiavone be speculating to get out of WCW?
It is also understood that several trainers in WCW have become alarmed with the recent growth of Scott Steiner. Steiner has claimed he has undertaken a strict diet and fitness program to increase his apparent size, but some of the trainers are claiming that the way Steiner is going about increasing his size will have a detrimental effect on his other size, if you get our drift.
Following the recent spate of WCW signings, expect the WWF to make a shock announcement that they have pilfered one of WCW's best. Ultimo Dragon is rumoured to have asked for a release to join WWF and it is understood that he will take with him close friend Juventud Guerrera.
A new storyline is expected to start next week involving Billy Kidman and Jerry Lynn. WCW has been very tight lipped on the rumour but the source is a reliable one.
The next few weeks in professional wrestling promises to be very interesting. Stay tuned for more news on blue dress stains, shrinkage and financial ruin as we keep track of all the events of this tawdry industry.
WCW Television Championship: Eddie Guerrero (c) v Psicosis I know I keep betting against Eddie, I just really think he should be further up the card. Ladder Match: Juventud Guerrera v Ultimo Dragon Ultimately I think that this one could go either way but I think Guerrera is a better all-rounder as he has more charisma. Wrath v Scott Hall I'm expecting this to be a basic squash match for Scott Hall to dominate in. Wrath has never done anything to impress me and I think he should be used like this. WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament: Steiner Brothers v British Connection 'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay and 'Lord' Steven Regal) Steiners can still go in 1998. 'The Man of 1000 Holds' Dean Malenko v 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright Alex Wright was a bit generic in the ring in my opinion compared to other high-flyers. Non Title Match: WCW Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio Jr and Chavo Guerrero Jr v Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith Keep it on the Latinos. WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament: Jerry Lynn and 'Your Olympic Hero' Kurt Angle v Harlem Heat I really wasn't sure on this one but think Angle's going to be heavily pushed. Bill Goldberg v 'Total Package' Lex Luger Tough challenge for Goldberg but he has to be kept looking as strong as possible really. And wasn't he giving it to WCW, "their opening match of the night, and probably gonna be their best is two ECWers". Its hard to argue, WCW has plagued ECW like no other. And he was right, this was a great bout. Eddie Guerrero allowed Psicosis to execute some of his quick high potential spots, but at the end of the day the experienced Guerrero seemed always to be just one nano-second ahead of him, and was able to finish off a blockbuster opener with the Flying Frogsplash. Let's not get bitter Paul, it is what it is, and the irony here is this for the Television Championship.. featured first in NWA, and then into ECW? Turn it up! Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW Television Champion, Eddie Guerrero
After the match, Goldberg proceeded to make his long, long, long march to the ring, to be interviewed by 'Mean' Gene Okerlund. "Well now, I thank you Bill Goldberg for coming out here tonight. Now Bi.." Just then, no music played. Yep, that's right, no music. For that typified the entrance of the Giant himself, Okerlund stopped in his track as he watched the 7'4" monster stride to the ring, and then over the top rope. Suddenly, Okerlund pensively stood between the two as a kind of mediator. Talk about meat in the sandwich! "YYYOOOOOOUUU MMAAAKKKEEE MEEEEE SIIIICCCCCKK!" The Giant snarled as he ripped his right hand up in the air. "Is that right? I'll tell you what Giant, how about you and I, tonight. For tonight, I plan to make you... NEX..." nWo The fabled music of the nWo began, as 'Easy-E' Eric Bischoff stepped out on the Turner Tron. Both men turned, relieving their eyes of own another for a second. "Well, well, well. I guess I must have missed the Board meeting that conferred power to you guys," Bischoff wryly noted. "Oh that's right, I didn't. That's right, that means I'm still in control. And you think I'm going to let you give these morons the match that I had down for Road Wild? Not in a million years. But, I'll tell you what. You two boys seem to have a lot of pent up rage at the moment, so tonight... I'm billing a special main event. Goldberg, you will take on a man who causes me great nausea, a man who has caused me some problems in the past. Of course, I speak of ... Lex Luger. As far as you go, Giant, if you touch Bill Goldberg in the main event, you can consider yourself.... Fired! Hell, I'll even Fed-Ex it to you if you want, you can use it to go and create a character for yourself up there in Hick-ville Pennsylvania for all I care, just like you know-who. Now... boys, take care of them..." As Bischoff says those words, Doug Dillenger and a thousand of his fun police hit the ring to separate Goldberg and the Giant. ------------------------- After the break, as Eric Bischoff begins to walk through the curtain looking very happy with himself, he is cornered by a fired up 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, wearing his custom made Armani suit. "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Bischoff looks scared knowing just how deep Flair's hatred runs. "Touch me now Ric, and you're fired... You know that..." Flair still has his fist clenched, his face is tightening up in anger. "You low life son of a [BEEP]! You coward! You stooped to stop them going at it tonight? Just like you avoid a rematch with me? WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Let me tell you something Bischoff, pal! I'm going to end you, I'm going to take your job, and then you can go back to selling meat trays out the back of a truck..." "Look Flair, you think I'm scared of you? You don't get it, do you? I'm providing you with a future. I'm providing the entire locker room with the blue print. The nWo is the future..." "The nWo is the future? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Pal, consider that as the final nail brother. The nWo is full of contempt. Its deceitful, just like you. And if ending you means ending them, I will do it myself. Because the nWo and the Horsemen cannot co-exist. But let me tell you something pal, Diamonds are Forever, and so is the Nature Boy! And you pal, your time is near.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Just before Flair can recoil and let his fist go, more of Doug Dillenger's fun police arrives, and separates Bischoff from Flair to allow the leader of the nWo a safe passage to the back.
Ladders Match Juventud Guerrera v Ultimo Dragon What the hell? I wonder if this is some kind of answer to Heyman's outburst, with a slighter more edgier match in the product this week. And a good match, Ultimo Dragon and Juventud ultimately used the ladder as a weapon firstly, but firstly as a tool to light the ring up, or more should I say, the air above the ring. A truly great match, after 9 minutes of quick snappy action, Juventud took advantage of a sick fall from Ultimo Dragon to climb the ladder and grab a briefcase. The question is, what the heck does that briefcase hold? Result: Your winner, Juventud Guerrera
Juventud signals to the back, as he opens the brieface to reveal a blue t-shirt. He slips it on, revealing the word... Thrillapalooza Running down to the ring in similar attire is Jerry Lynn, Billy Kidman and Hector Garza. The four men embrace in the ring, before Kidman goes to the far ringpost, and does a moonsault into a standing position like a prized gymnist. Accompanying the men to the ring is a very sexy young valet, one whom we have not seen before... Kidman then takes a microphone... "This ring needs some... EXXCCCIITTTEEMEEENNNTTT!! San Diego to Miami, New York to Los Angeles, are you ready? Come on down, and get on board Thrillapalooza! We're going to light up the ring, night in, night out... Juventud, Jerry Lynn, Hector Garza... and Jerry's sister, Ryan, do you accept the oath of excitement?" All the members hold their hands up in a time out signal, I'm assuming it's a T for Thrillapalooza, but damned if I can take my eyes of Ryan Lynn... Editors Note: Yes I am aware she is better known as Ryan Shamrock.... ------------------------------ Backstage, Bill Goldberg bursts into Eric Bischoff's office. The stress of tonight is clearly taking its toll, as a glass of scotch on the rocks sits in front of the leader of the nWo... "Oh God, what now?" "You think you can stop me?" "Legally... yes." "It's just another DAMN loophole Bischoff! Another DAMN loophole. I'm onto you, I know you're hiding him as well as protecting the Giant..." "Hiding who?" "You know who... That sick son of a [BEEP] who walked out on me. You just wait Bischoff, when I find him, and then I get my hands on you... You'll just wish you weren't... NEXT!"
Wrath v Scott Hall A thankfully, mercifully, quick match. Wrath showed a few power moves, but Hall's experience took control, and he was able to win with an innovated neckbreaker. He didn't seem to want to take the chance of going for the Outsider's Edge on such a massively powerful man, but it was good enough to get the win. Result: Your winner, Scott Hall
After the match, Scott Hall snatched the microphone from David Penzer. "Hey... Hey Yo. You may have heard but we've been going around the country taking a little survey. So how many of you are here to see the ...hic hic.... dubbya cee dubbya..." The crowd gives a strong reaction. "Ok... Ok. And how many of you are here to see the ...." TOOOOO SWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEET "nWo..?" Of course Hall's charisma has grabbed them... "Survey says, one more for the bad guys! Now, Chris Benoit, you chico punk. Did you see what I did to Big Doofus Wrath here? They say he has the ability to snap a man in half, chico. But I just dusted the floor with him. So Benoit, I don't want to hear anymore about it, chico. Don't sing it, BRING IT! Because at Road Wild, it will one more for the original... Bad Guy!" -------------- After Hall dumps the microphone into the mat, we're told by Tony Skee-o-varney that we need to head straight backstage. On some very amateur camera work, we catch 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash, Vincent, 'K-Dawg' Konnan and Curt Hennig all pounding on a corpse backstage. Who is it? What about me, it's Raven. And he's copping a fearful flogging, as we cut to a break. ---------------- After the break, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund stands by in the interview area with the veteran tag team, the Steiner brothers. "Alright guys, I thank you. With me tonight are my very special guests Scott and Rick Steiner, they are of course the Steiner Brothers, and tonight, next, you will face the British Connection, for a chance to move forward in the WCW Tag Team Championships Tournament..." "Woof! Woof! Woof!", Ok, I don't really know the noise barks that Rick makes. "That's right Rick, tonight, the Steiners put the bite on," thanks for the translation Scott. "Tonight, British Connection, you find out why the Steiners are the elite. The best. Tonight, you get... Steiner-rised!" Rick does some more barking, as Scott leads them off.
WCW Tag Team Championship Contenders Tournament The Steiner Brothers v The British Connection ('The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay and 'Lord' Steven Regal) Regal and Finlay are becoming a formidable team, but they are nothing against the Steiner brothers tonight who show all the tag experience in the world to wrestle an excellence face match, responding desperately and then in a quick brawl take control before Scott hit the Frankensteiner on Fit Finlay for the win. Result: Your winners, the Steiner Brothers
Backstage, Jerry Lynn knocks on a locker room door. The door opens, revealing in his tidy whities and a white business shirt and tie, and indeed some lip stick on his cheek, Kurt Angle. "Kurt?" Jerry Lynn asks. "Well who the freaken heck do you think this is? Bill Clinton...?".... "IN A MINUTE, HONEY! What the hell do you want? Can't you see I'm busy getting ready for our match tonight?" "Getting busy for our match tonight?" "Well, what are you trying to say? Some people get ready by listening to metal music, some slam their heads into a locker room, me... I have just learned I have a toe fetish..." "Well... I suppose you've heard about Thrillapalooza..." "No, No I haven't. Is it a concert? Are you going to invite me? Can I play Jimmy Cracked Corn again?" "What?" "Nevermind, no I have not..." "Well, it's a kick [BEEP] group of wrestlers who..." "Who what? Can't you see I'm busy..." "Well, I was wondering if you're interested..." "Dude, do you know what I'm doing back there? Honestly, do you know, or are you still a... you know..." "What?" "30 year old virgin. Dude, seriously, what do you want?" "I was wondering if you wanted to join..." "And miss out on this? Man, do you know she has a frisbee back there? A FRISBEE! I have no idea but what for but for God's sakes man... IT'S A FRISBEE! So, hell freakin no. Jerry, you've got some nerve, man. Not only am I busy, but I won a freakin gold medal with a busted freakin ankle. I'm above this, man... But, good luck to you and your little group of rag tag ragamuffins, I'm sure it'll be a hit. Now, if you don't mind, we've got a match to prepare for, I'm getting prepared nice and good and she says I'm getting tang.... TANG! TANG! TANG for freaking heck! And God knows its my favourite drink of 'em all..." Angle slams the door in Lynn's bemused face.
'The Man of 1000 Holds' Dean Malenko v 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright Surprisingly, a very credible match. Alex Wright hasn't had much luck go his way lately, but he has become a very polished performer, finally delivering on his enormous potential. However, Malenko was always in control and never looked flustered, ending a good match with the Texas Cloverleaf. Result: Your winner, Dean Malenko
After the match, with much fear following earlier events in the evening, security gets in the ring to escort Malenko to the back. As he looks to leave the ring.. BANG! A security takes it to Malenko. The guard then irish whips Malenko into the ring posts. Suddenly the security guards cap comes off to reveal... Eddie Guerrero! ----------------- As we cut to a break, we see Miss Elizabeth being subjected to another tawdry round of abuse in the women's locker room by Kimberly... ------------------ After the break, we cut to a dramatic scene in the back, where 'Macho Man' Randy Savage has 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page in the grip of his hand, clasping his hand around his throat. Savage's eyes are glazened and wide... "Yeah... if you don't get your wife to leave my wife alone...yeah, I'll.. I'll... I'll destroy you YEAH! So go get that mole out of my wifes face yeah. Do we have a deal?" With Page in a very vulnerable position, he nods his head slowly. "You've just awoken the madness yeah... " Page turns around and flips Savage the bird, which is dubiously censored by TNT, Savage runs after him, only to turn the corner and land into the vice of a Diamond Cutter! Silly silly Savage... They're just not gelling well here in WCW, I don't know if its the faster upbeat style but it just is not clicking. They did however put over the Champions well, who look to be invincible at this stage of their careers. Result: Your winners, Rey Mysterio Jr and Chavo Guerrero Jr
Backstage, 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash is laughing with his partner, Scott Hall. "You should have seen him, man. We had him flopping around like he was free willy...." Hall lets out a loud laugh, before shoving the camera to the ground and walking off with Nash. Stevie Ray and Booker T as brothers are perfectly in sync, here it seemed like Jerry Lynn and Kurt Angle were on another planet. And it paid disastorous consequences, as Stevie Ray hit the 110th Street Slam on Kurt Angle to get the pinfall. Result: Your winners, Harlem Heat
We cut straight backstage where 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, WCW United States Champion 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit are engaged in a very physical brawl with Scott Hall and 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash. Rights and lefts are being exhanged at a furious pace... "You attack him..." Flair utters between blows... "We'll destroy you..." But again, as the tension really heats up, here comes Doug Dillenger and the fun police...
Bill Goldberg v 'Total Package' Lex Luger Not the best main event of recent times, infact, decidedly slow and edgy, and lacking real psychology. After three or four minutes of pointlessness, it was like someone flicked a switch on Goldberg who said for no good reason to end it and end it quickly, and brutally. And he did. On the seventh day they created rest, on the eighth, they created Goldberg. Result: Your winner, Bill Goldberg
Before we go to black, we fade to a blood red scale video of some of the action between Sting, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and WCW World Heavyweight Champion 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho who will all clash at Road Wild for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship itself!

Interested to see what if anything happens with ECW. And liked the write-up which makes the Goldberg-Luger match sound like the epic class it likely was... Thanks mate. I guess it interests me to have a look at how different promotions would react to things. Without really thinking about it, I noted with some chagrin that I've kinda gone down the real-to-form WCW path and poached ECW to pieces. I kinda wrote it that way because I used to enjoy the cheap tricks, the 'give away results', the response to Mick Foley's title followed famously by the finger poke of doom, I think it became a very cutthroat market at that time and it really lacks that right now. Cornvellverse is the only thing right now that can replicate that marketing rivalry. Is it something that readers are interested in? ...hearing I guess a mockumentary look at some of the responses from the WWF and ECW on the rosters, perhaps add a few stifled shoot comments into the promo... just to spice up the war? I'm mindful of not just making it an n-W-o v WCW war, and I'd kinda like to expand the rest of the world wrestling landscape into it. Would be very interested to hear readers views on if they'd like me to incorporate more things from outside WCW in the diary... Cheers

I think its almost always cool to flesh out the greater game world. It gives the reader a greater sense of the whole of your game, rather than just the individual promotion. Looking at little pieces of the war with the WWF and the animosity from ECW is a pretty cool way to do it, I think. Given that its one of the most interesting times in pro wrestling history (in my opinion, anyway), I think its a strong addition.
