HGC Hollyweird TV Tuesday, Week 2, January 1997 Held at the South East's Huntsville Fairgrounds Attendance: 5000 (Sold out!) HGC Hollyweird TV opens with an image of Dread in the parking lot, surrounded by a small army of security guards. They are obviously preventing him from entering the building. Dread grunts and shoves the nearest security guard to the ground. “So, it's like that.” We told the security guards to not to respond, and in general, to act terrified of Dread. We're trying to play it off as though he might snap at any moment and that he's currently suspended for trying to attack a referee last week. After a brief stare down with the security guards, Dread snarls, turns, and walk away. Dread tries to get in to the arena, but security won't let him in. Rating: A Next, we switched to a camera focused on the ring, where I stand with a microphone. I pumped the crowd up, telling them that they'd see Larry Vessey take on BLZ Bubb and Sam Strong take on Peter Valentine, with the winners advancing to the next round of the HGC World Heavyweight Title Tournament. The crowd was pretty excited by my announcement and gave me, a great reception. I can definitely get used to this. Kelsey Campbell hypes the show tonight, announcing that Sam Strong, Larry Vessey, BLZ Bubb, and Peter Valentine will all be in action. Rating: B
Match #1: Cowboy Ricky Dale vs. Charlie Thatcher vs. As I walked backstage, the ring announcer called out the first in-ring performers of the night. We decided to start things off with a match between Cowboy Rick Dale and Charlie Thatcher. Ricky Dale received a pretty good reaction from the crowd, but they absolutely hated Charlie Thatcher. In fact, they some how managed to get a “don't come back” chant started. To top it off, Thatcher was pretty tired by the end of the match. Ricky Dale put him, and the crowd, out of the misery with a Southern Justice. Well, guess we'll have to figure out what to do with Thatcher. Cowboy Ricky Dale defeated Charlie Thatcher in 7:57 by pinfall with a Southern Justice. Rating: D-
And now we switch backstage. The camera is focused on my heels, then pans up, to my skirt, then up my back. Yeah, it's exploitive, but it sells. Anyhow, I'm pretending to look over some charts taped to the wall, when Giant Redwood enters the scene. “Hey toots”, he belows. Redwood lumbers closer to me, far too close for my comfort, and breathes on me as talks. “So, I've been thinkin' about you not putting me in the World Title tournament.” I give him a worried look and a half smile. I try to respond: “Hey, listen, I didn't really get to deci...”. Redwood interrupts me. “No need to explain, toots. I understand, you didn't put me in the tournament because you want all my time for yourself. Yeah, I figured it all by myself. I mean, world champions are pretty busy, and you know I'd win if ya' put me in the tourney, so you kept me out for some one on one time.” I swallow, thinking of a reasonable response. Fortunately, I don't have to, as Romeo Heartthrob enters the scene from the other side. “What are you talking about, you fat disgusting piggy man?” Romeo walks directly up to Redwood and pokes him in the chest. “Weren't you watching last week when Kelsey asked me to impress her? It's obvious that she's interested in my ravishing body...” He points up and down his body. “And is completely disgusted by your burger roles. Now leave my woman alone, fatty.” I slowly start to back up, as Redwood gets fired up. He returns the poke to Romeo's chest. “Now listen here, pipsqueak, I'm not fat, I'm just big boned!” They both turn to toward me, then realize that I've ran off. Both men frown, then poke each other in the chest, as we transition to the next scene. Giant Redwood and Romeo Heartthrob argue with each other about who Kelsey Campbell likes best. As they argue, she slowly backs away. Rating: C+
Match #2: Eléctrico vs. Fumihiro Ota vs. The next match of the evening saw high fliers Fumihiro Ota and Eléctrico square off in a short match. We're still trying to get a good feel for our undercard, as, at some point, we want to put the HGC Cruiserweight belt on one of them. Ota seemed off his game tonight and this really brought down the match, despite the fact that he and Eléctrico seem to have pretty good chemistry. Fumihiro Ota defeated Eléctrico in 5:37 by pinfall with a Ninja Strike. Rating: D
Now, we switch to a backstage segment where we see Peter Valentine lifting a dumbbell with his left arm. He points at the camera and explains: “Tonight, I take Sam Strong. The winner goes to the next round of the HGC World Title tournament, the loser goes home. Well, the truth is, I've always been better than Sam Strong... at weightlifting, at wrestling... at everything!” Valentine drops the weight. He stares into the camera, with what is supposed to be an angry, crazed look. Instead, it looks like he has to use the restroom. He continues: “Tonight, old man, you're going down.” Valentine flexes, as the scene changes to the next segment. Despite the fact that Valentine looked dreadful, the segment seemed to get the crowd going. Peter Valentine has an interview in which he hypes his match later tonight. Rating: B
Match #3: The Blazin' Flames vs. The Nation of Filth vs. Back in the ring, the Blazin' Flame squared off against the Nation of Filth in our first tag team match of the year. We just hired the Blazin' Flames and are expecting big things from them, but it was hard to judge our investment given this match. It turns out that for some reason, the crowd didn't particularly care to see Grunt wrestle and they really let him know it. Now, it was nothing like the contempt that they showed towards Charlie Thatcher earlier in the night, but it certainly hurt the match. Blazin' Flames defeated The Nation Of Filth in 8:05 when Joey Flame defeated Stink by pinfall with a Blaze of Glory. Rating: D-
Heavy metal riffs filled the arena as soon Joey Flame pinned Stink. Then, the Demons of Anger stomped through the entrance curtain and marched to the ring, where they proceeded to beat the snot out of the Blazin' Flames, then threw them out of the ring. I told Teddy Flame that the Demons were going to make this attack, but he must not have reminded his brother, who looked completely lost out there and nearly broke his neck when Demon Spite hurled him out of the ring. Demon Anger then grabbed a microphone and explained to the crowd that the Demons of Rage were filled with, well, rage and that “Our rage can only be quelled by the HGC World Tag Team Championship belts.” The Demons Of Rage attack the Blazin' Flames. Rating: D+ Backstage, we see the Vessey brothers walking down the hall, in mid conversation. Bryan looks a little dejected. Larry pats him on the back and says “Don't worry about it. You gave Rip a good run for his money and you're young, you'll have lots of chances to pick the title later.” Bryan nods. “You're right, and besides, after you win the tournament, you can give me a title shot.” Larry laughs. “We'll see, first I have to get through...” “B...L....Zzzzzzzzzzzz”, a raspy voice declares. The Vessey corners have turned the hall and ran into BLZ Bubb and his manager, Karen Killer. Killer wraps her arms around BLZ Bubb's giant left arm and explains. “Well, well, well... if it isn't tonight's sacrificial lamb.” Bryan Vessey steps forward, upset at Killer's comment. “My brother is no sacrificial lamb, and you need to watch your mouth!” BLZ Bubb does not take kindly to his handler being threatened, and so he steps forward and grunts. Bryan looks at him. “What? I'll kick your overgrown mutant ass right now.” Larry Vessey puts his hand on his younger brother's shoulder. “Not the time. I'll handle BLZ later, in the ring. Let's just go the other way, Bryan.” Bryan Vessey and BLZ Bubb continue to stare each other down, until finally, Bryan backs off. Karen Killer laughs, quite manically, at the Vesseys, as they turn around and walk down another hallway. And, accordingly, he was on jobber duty tonight. We sent him out against Robert Oxford, in an attempt to get a little more momentum behind our midcard heels. The match was decent, as Oxford is a solid veteran and Monty is a top young prospect. Shame he's leaving. After a back and forth match, Oxford planted Walker with a piledriver, then picked up the pinfall. Robert Oxford defeated Monty Walker in 11:34 by pinfall. Rating: C-
After picking up the win, Oxford calls out his fellow Untouchable members, and they proceed to assault Monty Walker, driving him into the ground with two spiked piledrivers. Apparently, it's also part of the unwritten code of wrestlers that exiting wrestlers are to be abused, so that they can be written out of storylines. This is good information for me, as if I flop as a wrestling personality, I think I'll have an easy transition into daytime soap operas. Robert Oxford, Paul Steadyfast, and Joel Bryant attacked Monty Walker in the ring, and leave him down and out. Rating: D After Monty Walker takes a second spiked piledriver, Dusty Streets bursts through the curtains, with a steel chair in hand, and clears the Untouchables from the ring. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of heat behind this story yet. Dusty Streets saved Monty Walker from The Untouchables. We're rushing the angle, but Strong is kind of cold toward tag team wrestling and Stallings and I couldn't come up with anything better. In retrospect, it would have been better if we had used this as the main event, but Sam wouldn't hear it. Karen Killer and Coach Dick Pangrazzio did solid work for their respective clients. The only knock on the match is that BLZ Bubb isn't great at selling his opponents offense. Vessey was kept strong in the match, and looked to be in complete control, when Karen Killer hopped on the apron, proving the distraction and the opportunity for BLZ Bubb to hit the Hades Bomb. BLZ Bubb defeated Larry Vessey in 10:09 by pinfall with a Hades Bomb after Karen Killer interfered. Rating: C+
Backstage, I announce that Liberty and Rip Chord will meet next week in the semi-finals of the HGC World Heavyweight Title tournament. I then bring Liberty and Rip Chord into the scene, with Liberty to my left and Rip Chord to my right. First, I ask Rip about his face off with Sam Strong last week. He isn't interested in talking about it, however, as his response is short and to the point: “Sam and I have a history. You know it, I know it, the fans know it, and Sam Strong knows it. To be honest, I don't like the man. Never have, never will. And when the time is right, I'll put that old dog down.” “Alrighty.” I shift away from Rip Chord. “Liberty,” I ask, “What are your thoughts about your match next week with Rip Chord?" Liberty leans toward me, using colorful hand gestures as he speaks into my microphone. Liberty nods and stares off, completely engaged in his “surfer dude” persona. “Man... I beat Rip Chord in December. Pinned the dude one, two, three... right in the middle of the ring.” Rip scowls, while Liberty continues on. “Now, don't get me wrong. Rip, dude, you're a legend. You've had a completely radical career and will go down as one of the all-time big kahunas in wrestling. But even the biggest of waves break when they hit the shore, and Rip, bro', you've hit the shore. There's a new wave coming through, and that wave is Liberty.” Rip Chord snatches the microphone out of my hand and responds. “Yeah, you beat me last month. But punk, lightning isn't going to strike twice. I don't know what this crap is about waves, and quite frankly, I don't give a half a flying squirrels ass. Fact is, you can ride your little wave of success right into our match next week and see how much good it does you. You're just another young challenger, looking to make his name off of mine. I've beat a 1000 men like you, and I'll beat a 1000 more.” Rip Chord steps toward Liberty. The two men engage in a mostly ceremonial stare down, as we switch back to the ring. Kelsey Campbell interviews Rip Chord and Liberty about their upcoming singles match. Rating: B
Match #6: Sam Strong vs. Peter Valentine vs. The final match of the opening round of the HGC World Heavyweight Title Tournament featured Sam Strong and Peter Valentine. And while the crowd would literally eat out of Strong's hand, they could really and truly care less about Valentine. They just didn't want to see the man wrestle tonight and I can't blame them, as he's not exactly a top notch competitor. After a short back and forth contest, which suffered due to a lack of selling, Strong put Valentine down with the Strong Arm Tactic. So yeah. Valentine looks dreadful in angles, can't wrestle, and the crowd doesn't want to see him. Oh, I'm not sure that I'm up for turning this train wreck around. Sam Strong defeated Peter Valentine in 7:35 by pinfall with a Strong Arm Tactic. Rating: B-
Just as Sam Strong starts to celebrate with the crowd, the overhead lights go down and an eerie red lights illuminate the arena. BLZ Bubb, accompanied by Karen Killer, walk through the entrance ramp. The crowd apparently gets the message, as they go crazy at the thought of Strong and BLZ facing off.. With Liberty and Rip Chord scheduled for next week, the other semi-final match in the tournament will be Sam Strong and BLZ Bubb. Strong beckons BLZ Bubb to come into the ring, motioning with his hands that he'll lift him up and slam him. The crowd erupts, however, when Rip Chord comes over the guard rail and slides into the ring behind Strong. Strong turns around, only to get kicked in the stomach, which is followed up by the infamous Rip Chord DDT. Rip Chord sits in the middle of the ring, basking in the boos from the crowd, as BLZ Bubb and Karen Killer make their way to the ring. Upon entering, Chord stands up and gestures to BLZ that he's handed him Strong on a platter. BLZ pulls Sam Strong up, and plants him in the middle of the ring with a Hades Bomb. And with that, the show ends. Rip Chord and BLZ Bubb attack Sam Strong. Rating: A
When will Crash Lewis ever get the spotlight? He ends up becoming a tremendous wrestler by '08 :D Throw him into a tag team with Troy Tornado and push 'em to the moon. They'd still be more talented then Nation of Filth! edit: I really enjoy your formatting, putting in-ring action in a quotes box. I hope you don't mind but I might borrow that for my CCW diary.

This looks really good so far. I really liked your USPW diary from 07, and this looks just as good. I'm not that familiar with some of the 1997 workers, so I'm getting acquainted with them before I start joining in with predictions. Robert Oxford, still looked like a grumpy old man ten years ago ;)
Awesome card. Loved it.
Thanks!
Another great show, shame that Strong vs. Valentine didn't get a higher rating, I thought Strong's overness would've made it a low B or something, but what do I know?
Me too, lol. It's really kind of problematic. Have to decide whether I should lower the cult (if Stallings will let me) or try to force certain wrestlers down the crowd's throat. As for the formating, go for it. I'm guessing, but can't remember, that I stole it from someone's 07 diary anyhow. ;)
This looks really good so far. Girls, Girls, Girls!
Emma Chase slapped one of our male employees. Strangely, I can't seem to get anyone to tell me exactly who she slapped, but it was, apparently, a huge deal after the show. Stallings called me the following morning to tell me about it and made it clear that he wanted me to be gentle with her. Yeah, she's definitely my competition. Anyhow, Stallings has the HGC corporate offices housed inside the Stallings Software building, smack dab in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. The building is some 40 stories high, with the majority of the floors designated for use by his budding Software empire. The 38th floor is the home of the HGC management offices and is surprisingly empty. In addition to my executive office, which, I admit, was a nice gesture, Stallings has also provided additional offices for our secretary, for Sam Strong (he is the head booker, after all) and for our road agents Archie Judge and Pat Deacon. Stallings also has an office on this floor, but he spends the vast majority of his time on the 40th floor, which serves as his personal office. I'm told that he does his best programming up there, but I haven't seen it yet. Every time I've been up there, he's been busy watching his favorite scenes from my movies. It's kind of creepy, to be honest. After talking to Stallings, I had the secretary call Emma Chase and tell her that I needed to see her. Fortunately, Emma was still in town, as she seemed to enjoy the Hollywood atmosphere and typically stayed in town for several days at a time. She showed up later that day and I had the secretary buzz her in. Emma walked into my office, dressed smartly in a sharp business suit and modest heels. Her hair was pulled up in a smart bun and her makeup was done perfectly. She looked completely appropriate for a business meeting, yet still attractive enough to give men rubber necks. I'm pretty sure that I secretly hated her. “Hi Emma, please, come in. Have a seat.” I tried to be pleasant, which meant pushing my jealous thoughts out of sight and mind. Besides, I was definitely as attractive as her and a much better actress.. Five years from now, neither of those things will probably be true... Yeah, I definitely hate her. Chase sat down in front of my desk. “Hello Ms. Campbell.” She was very polite, although, to be honest, something about her kindness struck me secretly manipulative. I asked her about the incident, after the show. Interestingly, she chose to not reveal the target of her slap. Her version of the story was short and sweet: “A certain, unnamed male made a pass at me. I told him no. He said I was a tease and tried again, so I slapped him.” Which, given the male wrestlers that I've met so far, sounded like a plausible explanation for last night's events. “Emma”, I said, with something of a parental tone to my voice, “you really can't afford slap every male that offends you. Not in this business, at least. Wrestling is a male environment. We're aliens here and they don't understand us. It's better to just ignore the little things and to save your fights for the big things.” There was something absurd about me giving her advice on the wrestling business, given that she had been in the business for three years, while I had been in the business for two weeks. Regardless, she listened to my advice, gave me a pleasant smile, and said “Gotcha, boss. I'll try harder to keep my cool.” It's hard to say if anything was resolved by our meeting. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on Emma. Immediately following the meeting Emma, I made a call to an 18-year-old would-be manager named Jamie Denby. I met her last year at some press event, where she explained to me that she wanted nothing more than to become an actress. Truthfully, she doesn't have a lot of natural talent and, as of yet, failed to make obtain any sort of roles. I offered her a contract with the HGC to work as a manager, as I felt like increasing the number of females might make work to civilize the work environment. She accepted, gleefully, as she wasn't sure that she'd be able to make her rent this month. I'm not sure how she's going to pay her rent making $100 an appearance, but, well, that's her problem. I decided to assign her to Robert Oxford, Joel Bryant, and Paul Steadyfast. The Untouchables storyline is flopping so far, and a little eye candy and extra charisma might help things out. For no apparent reason, Jamie wants to be called 'Pettle'.
OOC: I managed to delete my game (I didn't realize which database I was in). So, I've had to rerun the previous two cards. Fortunately, I had only simmed the first month, so I'm only a little bummed out. I used the same angles and matches. Mostly the same results. I'll make another post later to detail the changes. The biggest changes, to date, are that Coach Dick & Larry Vessey went from good to bad chemistry and the SWF hasn't, yet, stolen Monty. The backstage incidents, predictably, are completely different. However, I'm just going to ignore that, as the incidents in both games have been inconsequential.

This deleting error sucks, but still, you weren't too far. One grip I have against the game right now is the high amount of backstage incidents. It seems I get one after each and every damn show, it's getting annoying. Anyway, to my predictions... Fumihiro Ota & Super Joshua vs. Mr. Lucha & Blue Sky It's all about the ninja! Giant Redwood vs. Romeo Heartthrob Seriously, I want this big dumb Redwood to get some kind of push Demon Spite vs. Joey Flame I predict heel shanehigan with a face rescue to cement the ppv match BLZ Bubb vs. Dark EAGLE Joel Bryant vs. Dusty Streets Demon Anger vs. Larry Vessey The Flames will get even with that one. Rip Chord vs. Liberty In my big scheme of things, Liberty costs Rip his last title occasion. Rip costs the title to Liberty at the PPV. We get a quick feud ending with a grudge match next month where Liberty retires Rip.

Overall, the changes were minor, and so I feel good about moving ahead with things. I have edited the previous posts to contain the new values. Other minor issues changed as well (regarding road agent notes), but I opted to not adjust the text for these, so that I could save some time. Card is done and will be up later tonight, when I have time to add the formatting. Thanks for all of the comments and predictions!

We open this week's episode of HGC Hollyweird TV backstage, with JK Stalling Jr. making his on-air debut in a segment with me. Stallings decided, last week, that he wanted an on-air presence. Unfortunately, he's awful... completely awful. “So, you see. I banned Dread from the building last week”, Stallings says in his cracking adolescent voice. Stallings does his absolute best to sound tough. “He tried to attack one of my referees and I just won't stand for it!” I paste a worried look on my face, give Stallings a worried smile, and point behind him. He turns around and is face to chest with ... Dread. “Boo”, the mammoth of a man whispers to Stallings. “Eeeeckkkkkkkkkkkk!” Stallings shrills like a girl then leaps into the air. I catch him. No, literally, I am now holding Stallings like a husband might hold his bride, just before carrying her across the threshold. The scene, a 5'10 woman in 4” heels holding a 5'4” 16 year old boy like a baby, is completely absurd, but hey, we're big on comedy. Dread steps forward and glares at me. I cower away and avoid his gaze, to better sell his monster-persona. He grunts and chuckles to himself, satisified in his badassness as he walks past us. I put Stallings down, and pat him on the back. “You really showed him”, I say, mocking my young boss. J.K. The crowd wasn't terribly interested in the match, which is likely due to the relatively lack of popularity of these wrestlers. Mr. Lucha, the best wrestler in the match, picked up the win for his team. For added emphasis on his demonic nature, we've opted to go for red lights and a buzzing background noise. Killer, as usual, does most of the talking. “Last week, BLZ Bubb destroyed the myth that was Sam Strong. The so-called wrestling legend was beaten, battered, and left for dead. But BLZ Bubb left an ounce of life in that husk of a body, so that he might finish the Strong off next week. Next week, Sam Strong fans, dress in black. The crowd wasn't thrilled to see Redwood wrestle, which, honestly, wasn't very surprising. Romeo looked good again, while Redwood looked completely exhausted by the end of the match. After hitting a low blow, Romeo locked in Cupid's Clutch and picked up the submission win. Romeo Heartthrob defeated Giant Redwood in 6:58 by submission with a Cupid's Clutch after blatantly cheating. Rating: D-
Backstage, the Vessey brothers, along with their manager, Coach Dick Pangrazzio, approach Dusty Streets, who is busily unloading his gear into a locker. “Dusty!”, the elder Vessey brother proclaims. Dusty turns around, sees its the Vesseys, then shakes hands with each of them. “What's going on, fellas?” Dusty asks, in his classic southern accent, to the Vessey brothers. The younger Vessey responds. “We just wanted to let you know that the Vesseys got your back.” Larry Vessey nods. “Yeah, we've seen you go back and forth with Oxford and his goons. Them three boys don't know how to fight fair, and it be a real dream to even the odds.” We decided to insert the Vesseys into the struggling Untouchables/Streets feud. The crowd was on Demon Spite from the beginning, which really pulled down what was an other wise decent match. The end came when a tiring Spite hit the Demon Slam, following a well-timed distraction from his partner. Giant Redwood and Romeo Hearththrob appear down the hall and begin walking toward me. They look at each other, then start to walk faster, obviously racing to reach me. Redwood can't keep up with Heartthrob's speed-walking, so he shoves him over, sending him crashing over a table and into the wall. Sadly, by the time Redwood reaches me, he's completely out of breath. “Did ya' ..." Huff, puff, "see that..." wheeze, "...cheatin' scumbag lowblow me?” Redwood bellows, scaring off my assistant. I sigh, knowing that this conversation is starting low and heading downhill. “He punched me in the nuts!” Romeo has gathered himself and marches over, ready to join the conversation. Redwood continues, “He's a dirty cheater! He's trying to impress you with cheatin'! Now I ain't no rocket scientist, but what sorta pre-see-dent does that set for yall's relationship?” I'm confused. “What relationship?” Redwood and Romeo look at me, both equally confused. Romeo chimes in with “We thought it was implied that you'd date the winner of our match, babe.” I slowly shake my head. “What? Uh.. ew! No!” I turn to walk away, but Redwood steps in front of me. “Does that mean ya' weren't impress with his cheatin' ways?” I turn around, trying to find a way to get out of this situation. Unfortunately, Romeo steps in front of me as I try to move the other way. I'm literally standing between them, as they argue over my head. “She's not impressed by losers, fatty!” “Big boned! And how do you know what she's impressed by, stupid mustache man!” Redwood bellows in a response. Then, mercifully... Cowboy Ricky Dale shows up. “That's no way to treat a lady. Y'all is frightening her, with all yer' hollerin' and carryin' on. Ms. Campbell, you want me to take these curs out back and give 'em what for?” I step toward Cowboy Ricky Dale. At some point, this Cowboy gimmick has got to go. For now, we'll run with it. “No, that won't be necessary. It'd be more than enough if you just escorted me away from them.” I hold out my hand and Ricky Dale takes it, walking me away from Romeo and Redwood. I stop after a few paces, then look back at them and say, “Do you want to know what impresses me?” They both nod. “Gentlemen.” I hold Ricky's arm, as he walks me down the hall. Liberty beat Rip Chord in December, shocking many long time wrestling insiders and fans. Now, heading into this match, many were wondering if he could pull out another big upset. Tonight... he could not. Liberty gave his all, in an impressive back and forth match, but eventually, Rip Chord got the better of the young wrestler, planting him square in the ring with a Rip Chord DDT. The crowd was really pumped for this match, standing on their feet from bell to bell. Unfortunately, Kyle Rhodes did a sub-par job on commentary again. Rip Chord defeated Liberty in 14:47 by pinfall with a Rip Chord DDT. Rating: A
As a visibly tired Liberty rolled out of the ring, selling the effects of the DDT, Rip Chord grabbed a microphone and started to work the crowd. “Looks like these old bones got some life in them still!” Rip yells to the crowd, who respond by booing him. “Yeah, yeah, boo all you want. The fact is, I'm going to HGC: Malice in Wonderland and I will be in the main event for the HGC World Heavyweight Championship!” More boos. Rip's attack on Strong last week and his victory of Liberty, tonight, have left a sour taste in the fans' mouths, because they then start up the old "Al-Key" chant. “Next week, BLZ Bubb takes on my good friend... Sam Strong. The winner goes on to face me in the main event at Malice in Wonderland.” The crowd cheers Strong's name. “That is, if Sam can make it. Apparently our 'sparing' session last week was a little rough, and old Sammy couldn't get out of bed to make the show tonight.” Rip points to the video wall, which shows a replay of Rip Chord hitting a DDT on Sam Strong last week. This prompts the crowd to amplify the volume of their jeers. “Odds are, Sam won't make it next week and will drop out of the tournament. Hell, he might even hang up his boots.” Rip has a ruthless-looking smile on his face. “Truthfully, it doesn't matter. I've beaten Sam Strong before, and I can and will do it again. And I sure as Hell can beat BLZ Bubb. So, you see, come Malice in Wonderland... I'll once again be on top of the wrestling world. Just try and stop me.” The microphone makes a “bzz-plop” sound as it hits the mat. The show ends, as Rip exits the ring. At 47-years of age, Rip Chord is still a god, both in the ring and on the mic. I agree with Liamo, this is some quality writing.
Great show again, I really like the whole Redwood/Romeo angle... is that wrong? :p
Hell no. Comedy is one of the finer points of a wrestling undercard!
