GDS TEW Hall Of Fame Class Of 2008 Induction Ceremony

Recommended Posts

So if you have all taken your seats at the table, all dressed up in your tuxedo’s and sipping on the moderating priced champagne… for the dozens in attendance and the several reading at home… LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEETTTTS GET READY TO INDUCT PEOPLE IN TO THE GREY DOG SOFTWARE TOTAL EXTREME WRESTLING DYNASTY HALL OF FAME CLASS OF TWO THOUSAND AND EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHT! Ahem…
Welcome all to the GDS TEW Hall Of Fame Class Of 2008 Inductee Ceremony. I’m your host Keefmoon, and over the course of the next few paragraphs I will be revealing who YOU have picked for immortal recognition, or at least, for as long as you check in on this website. There have been an awful lot of votes this year, more than last year, with everyone ready to introduce a new crop of authors to be named amongst the elite of last years inductees Tristram, Monkeypox and Scapino. I originally thought that we may have a blip in votes or that somehow this year might seem less special given the high standard of authors inducted at last years inaugural event, but rather it has been a success with a helluva lot of different authors nominating covering a whole range of companies, countries and universes. However, before I begin with the induction of those voted in, I would first like to take the time for a special induction. The thing is, the only reason we all gather here on this forum, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, whatever, is through a common love of the TEW/EWR game series. Therefore, it seemed only natural that if people are to be rewarded for accomplishments on the GDS website, one man stands out above all others. After conferring with everyone who nominated, and following a unanimous support of this notion, as a sign of gratitude from everyone interested in the TEW/EWR process, I would like to introduce to you the first ever honorary inductee to the GDS TEW Hall Of Fame… ADAM RYLAND! I’m sure you will all agree, including those of you who did not nominate, that this recognition is well and truly deserved. But still, as I am not one to ramble (ummmm…) I shall move on following the applause to our first inductee to the Class Of 2008. Whilst this list is about to be in no particular order, one man seemingly had to go first. After all, he attained more votes than 2nd and 3rd combined (and they got an awful lot of votes!) and won by a truly astonishing margin. It seems the majority of people felt the need to induct him and, after all, why wouldn’t they? He is the author of several diaries, spanning several companies and seems to have conquered both the real world and Cornellverse in equal measure. He is also the author of perhaps the longest running diary ever and by far the most ever read diary, ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure in inducting not only a man who constantly bedazzles me with his eye for creativity and pure entertainment, but also a personal friend of mine, please put your hands together for the first inductee into the Hall Of Fame 2008… NEVERMORE! ECW Worldwide http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=15014 MOSC: The Worst Of British Wrestling http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=32960 Clash Of The ‘Titan Sports’ http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=22953 WWE Ascendancy http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=25212 The Battle Of Nevermore http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=24878 ECW: The Rise and Rise Of http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=22566 Men Of Steel Combat Ascendancy http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=19554 TNA/ECW When Worlds Collide http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=18212 Join The Revolution: New Orleans Wrestling http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=15940 The next inductee is an absolute legend of Cornellverse. A past winner of Diary of the Month, he has consistently pumped out quality show after quality show regardless of whether he’s covering companies from Canada, USA, Japan or Puerto Rico, and is an undoubtedly deserving member of the Class Of 2008 Hall Of Fame. Okay, last but certainly not least, the final inductee. His USPW diary is one of THE revered diaries on here, one that both RW and CV authors reference, the one that has spawned characters many of us forget weren’t there before the diary began and an incredibly unique, creative and often hilarious read that is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best diaries ever on here, please put your hands together for… J-SILVER! USPW: Where Ages 65 And Over Get In For Free http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=21524 Cornellverse Explored 07 (Diary) http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=19634 Cornellverse Explored (Diary) http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=16260 So there you have it. The Hall Of Fame 2008 inductees stand before you now. I personally would like to thank everyone who voted, read and suggested the manner in which this process could be bettered, and thanks to all who replied in regards to mentioning Adam’s “award”. But most of all, and this is on a very personal note, thank you to everyone who voted for me, it is a brilliant experience to be considered against such undoubtedly talented writers. Seriously, thank you. So one last time, the GDS TEW Hall Of Fame 2008 Inductees… NEVERMORE! TIGERKINNEY! KEEFMOON! J-SILVER! and honorary inductee… ADAM RYLAND!
Congrats to everyone, and thanks for your help. If you can think of a better way of formatting or presenting this let me know, but I'm dashing out of the door so don't have the time to be fiddling! Cheers!
Man, I felt like an idiot doing that.
but at least you'll only ever have to do it once. (unless of course we create a special wing in the hall of fame that needs nominating into:p ) great write up, and congratulations. In fact congratulation all around! all 4 of you are well deserved picks, and will make great members of the GDS hall of fame! (I shall adventure to add all 4 of you to the unofficial hall of records, as well as Adam)

http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=20325 - second page of the 'most posts' in the '07 section. That's not lazy, that's awful :p But seriosuly, congrats to all those voted in. It's a high quality group, and I know I've enjoyed the works of said authors. I think the main thing is how many of the diaries they produce are good - despite how many they make. Nevermore has ten diaries, for heaven's sake  And the best thing about the HoF? It gathers all these amazing stories in one place :D
They didn't vote for you, they voted for your evil twin brother tiger KENNY!! :D:p
Okay, so I messed up... :o Sorry to Tigerkinny for the mess up, but it's changed now. It's what you get for rushing. As for the people who didn't make it, I wouldn't be too upset. Having seen the reuslts, an awful lot of people were voted for, and some people got a considerable amount of votes and still didn't get in. But the support is definitely there. So don't worry, I can see just how popular you are and if you keep going there is always next year, because there are still some seriously popular authors on her eyet to be inducted for what are obviously great pieces of work. I feel like that sounds condesending, but it's not meant that way. Just saying a lot of votes went to people who weren't inducted so I know for a fact how popular some people are. And of course, my apologies to "Kenneth" Tigerkinney, I hope my ineptitude and incompetence didn't take away from what is a pretty huge accomplishment.
