TNA's New Beginnings

Explosion

Tuesday, week 3, December 2003

Asbury Park Convention Hall, Asbury Park, NJ.

Potter strides out to the ring and welcomes everybody in attendance and watching on pay per view. He says TNA has quite a show lined up tonight, including Jarrett getting his chance to get physical against himself and Ken Shamrock, with Psicosis as his partner. Three championships will be on the line also. AJ defends against Abyss, Mysterio against Rocky and England's Glory against Sexual Standouts. "Enjoy the show". Let's hope it's better than last week then... C-

Cocky Connection v Spank Wang

Things get off to a good start in our opening tag team bout, which features some back and forth action, the face hot tag to Jimmy Yang when Spanky looked beaten and also a standout performance from Spanky. Spank Wang pick up the win and momementum with Christmas Cheer edging ever near in 11:58 when Jimmy Yang defeated Johnny Devine by pinfall with an Oooo I Say! C

Jorge Estrada v 'Preacher' Christopher Daniels

A match held back a little by the two not appearing to work too well together. Daniels is slowly but surely winning over the TNA fans so he may yet prove to be a sound long term investment. 'Preacher' Christopher Daniels defeated Jorge Estrada in 10:52 by pinfall with a Last Rites. D

Jeff Jarrett comes out and says he as he is facing Ken Shamrock at Christmas Cheer, he wants a shot at his newly won World Championship match contract. He calls Shamrock out. Shamrock duly obliges, and he tells Jarrett he can have a match for the contract, provided Shamrock gets to decide what kind of match it is. Jarrett ponders this, agrees and Shamrock grins before leaving, without telling Jarrett what match he has in mind. Jarrett screams at Shamrock to tell him what the match is, all Shamrock does is surprisingly remain calm and mouth to him "wait and see". C+

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

England's Glory v Sexual Standouts

A slightly disappointing match but by no means disasterous. Mystery and Stains put up a good fight, but it is England's Glory who beat Sexual Standouts in 14:23 when British Bulldog defeated Seaman Stains by pinfall following a low blow as Williams distracted referee Gary Morere. England's Glory make defence number 2 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. D+

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Rey Mysterio Jr v Rocky Romero

A good match which showcased TNA's unique X Division well with fast paced action and numerous near falls. Rey particularly looked good. Rey Mysterio Jr defeated Rocky Romero in 15:35 by pinfall with a Springboard Hurricanrana. Rey Mysterio Jr makes defence number 9 of his TNA X Division title. C

Shamrock and Potter are conversing in the locker room. Potter questions if Shamrock knows what he is doing putting up his World Championship match contract, but Shamrock tells him he knows exactly what match it will be and all will be revealed in due course. They briefly discuss tonight's tag team match. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

AJ Styles v Abyss

AJ struggles with Abyss' size for a significant portion of the match, but eventually uses his superior speed and technique to get the upper hand. He wins in 18:54 by pinfall following a springboard forearm from the top rope. AJ Styles makes defence number 6 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. Abyss can put on a good match... maybe he just needs AJ to do it? C+

We find British Bulldog and Spanky exchanging words backstage. The two stare each other down, but no more. Surprisingly this went down like a lead balloon, considering these two are two of TNA's most popular wrestlers in the Tri State area. E+

Ken Shamrock & Potter v 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett & Psicosis

A good match which maintained the crowd's interest throughout. Potter had spent a long time in the ring with Shamrock getting ever more agitated on the apron. Potter makes the tag and Shamrock rushes straight in, laying blow after blow onto Psicosis in a neutral corner. Just as the referee's count reaches five, Jarrett blasts Shamrock over the back with a chair. Shamrock snaps and strikes everybody within range - Jarrett, Psicosis and Morere, who had called for a double disqualification. Potter, somehow, calms Shamrock down enough for him to stop, still with his far out look in his eyes. C+

Show rating: C+ - Considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity in Tri State.

Rising Stars

Thursday, week 3, December 2003

The Wavehouse, San Diego, CA.

Potter is in the ring and introduces two important people for the future of Rising Stars... referee Aaron Hassan and the show's announcer, the 19 year old Eric Bowen. He also states a number of young and promising wrestlers have been signed to compete on Rising Stars in the hope they will be rising stars and that some of them will be in action tonight. C

Ariel v MsChif

A match that brought the crowd's mood down. Ariel defeated MsChif in 7:44 by pinfall with an Ariel-Go-Round. E

BJ Whitmer v American Wild Child

No improvement here. BJ is showing some ring rust, and the match went on for too long given who was involved. American Wild Child defeated BJ Whitmer in 10:28 by pinfall with a Michinoku Driver. E

Matt Cappotelli v Ace Steel

Matt Cappotelli defeated Ace Steel in 11:47 by pinfall with a Standing SSP. D-

Scotty Riggs v Adam Pearce

Another match that went on for too long. Adam Pearce defeated Scotty Riggs in 18:05 by pinfall with a Rackbomb II. D-

My predictions for Christmas CHEER:

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT & TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS

60 minute Iron Man Match

AJ Styles v Rey Mysterio Jr (C- heat)

AJ needs the win to keep his momentum going. I'm guessing he takes 3-1.

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

England's Glory v Spank Wang v Beer Money (D-)

keeping some heat for the JWO. England's Glory retains their tag titles. Some sparks between Spank Wang and Beer Money could see them in a showdown next month.,

HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

Cage Match

'Super' Steve Corino v CM Punk v 'Wildcat' Chris Harris (E+)

Although I am all in favor for Wildcat Harris to win the belt, I think Corino has earned the right to keep the belt another month with his good matches so far (the best you've had in this division). I think this sets up Wildcat vs Punk for a #1 contender match - then Wildcat to get the title in a month or so.

ULTIMATE X

X Division number one contendership

Carlito v Colt Cabana v Frankie Kazarian v Nova v Sheik Abdul Bashir v Psicosis (E+)

I agree Sheik is due for something big, but right now maybe Carlito who is so good on the stick needs a singles win to get something going. Carloito vs Rey should be a decent match,

Match of Ken Shamrock's choosing for Shamrock's World Championship match contract

Ken Shamrock v 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett (C+)

Jeff's ego won't let the match end any other way. But no matter how many wins he gets, JJ needs to be kept away from the world title for a while.

Sexual Standouts (Mystery & Seaman Stains) v ****y Connection (E)

I like the new combo of Mystery-Stains and agree the "comedy" aspect will help keep them in the mix.

'The Preacher' Christopher Daniels v Rocky Romero (E)

Daniels in a cakewalk - he needs big wins to help get him over with the fans.

Some interesting thoughts there Olympia. I like your predictions, as well as Destiny's as you both give me some viewpoints I hadn't considered.

My hand may be forced with one of the matches, as one wrestler wants double the money and the same as a downside to extend his contract, which is more than I want and can afford to really pay him with the current financial position.

ouch! back stage negotiations. I have to agree with you at this point, there are not many of your guys worth doubling their salary (not knowing who it is and what he is starting at. double $100 to $200 won't hurt you too bad). Especially since you had a couple willing to take pay cuts to stay on the roster (unless it's AJ and we're in trouble since he's part of your goals).

glad the picks help give you different ideas. Just consider us your "booking committee" -but you have the final say as always.

Explosion

Tuesday, week 4, December 2003

Gross Memorial Coliseum, Hays, KS.

Potter is backstage in his office and announces tonight's matches. AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio will team up only five days before their ironman champion versus champion match against two of Jarrett's World Order. The six men in the Ultimate X will face off in a three way tag team match. The three teams facing each other at Christmas Cheer for the Tag Team Championship will face each other in two seperate three way singles matches. In a hardcore tag team match, Old School, the team of Steve Corino and Jorge Estrada will face CM Punk and Chris Harris. Finally Christopher Daniels will open the show against Super Crazy. C

'Preacher' Christopher Daniels v Super Crazy

Daniels continues his slow and steady improvement in TNA in an even match where both men put in some good aerial offence. Daniels gets the victory in 11:33 by pinfall with a Last Rites. D+

Jarrett's World Order are shown arriving backstage in a limosuine. They steps out and walks towards the arena where Jeff Jarrett is informed of their tag team match tonight. He gets a mischievous grin as he enters the arena. B

Hardcore match

Old School v CM Punk & 'Wildcat' Chris Harris

Punk and Harris didn't work well together, their timing was completely off. In a match which contained many weapons but not a lot of blood, Punk and Harris get the win in 14:27 when 'Wildcat' Chris Harris defeated 'Super' Steve Corino by pinfall with a Catatonic on the arena floor. D+

Doug Williams v Jimmy Yang v Robert Roode

The first three way featuring the tag teams saw an average match at best. Williams got the victory in 11:59 when Doug Williams defeated Jimmy Yang by pinfall with a Chaos Theory as Bulldog had Roode distracted on the arena floor by giving him verbals. D

A music video is shown to promote AJ Styles' run as the NWA TNA Champion. Surprisingly the crowd voice their displeasure. E+

British Bulldog v 'Cowboy' James Storm v Spanky

The second match sees the Tag Team Champions go two for two over Spank Wang. This is a considerably better match even though Spanky put in a poor performance. Bulldog got the win in 15:50 when he defeated Spanky by pinfall with a Powerslam. C

Elimination match

Caribbean Cool v Revolution v Psicosis & Sheik Abdul Bashir

Chaos ensued in this good quality match. The referee had lost control of the match for some time when Caribbean Cool defeated Revolution and Psicosis and Sheik Abdul Bashir in 16:50; the order of elimination was Revolution first, and finally Psicosis and Sheik Abdul Bashir. C

AJ Styles & Rey Mysterio Jr v 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett & Ernest Miller

AJ Styles is walking to the ring when, out of nowhere, 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett attacks. He connects with The Stroke, leaving AJ Styles out cold and Rey to face Jarrett & Miller by himself. C+

It was around five minutes before AJ had recovered sufficiently to get to his corner, and even then he looked somewhat groggy. Not surprisingly given the pre match attack, Jarrett's World Order controlled most of the match. The end came when AJ mistimed a drop kick off the top rope, Jarrett stepped out of the way and AJ nailed Mysterio instead in 19:58 when 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett defeated Rey Mysterio Jr by pinfall with a handful of tights. C+

Following the match, AJ and Mysterio have an intense staredown, and again surprisingly, the crowd is nonplussed with AJ. E+

Meanwhile, Potter comes out onto the ramp, notes that Jarrett is up to his usual tricks and that Shamrock has decided to have a submission match and what's more, Potter has an even bigger surprise lined up for Jarrett at Christmas Cheer. Happy Christmas! C-

Rising Stars

Thursday, week 4, December 2003

Newark Boys & Girls Club, Newark, DE.

Potter opens the show by telling the fans that a number of wrestlers will be making their first TNA appearance as they try and impress TNA management and work their way onto the main shows. Among those appearing tonight are Todd Sexton, Nate Webb, Joey Ryan, Reckless Youth, Super Dragon, Ric Blade and Mike Quackenbush. C

Todd Sexton v Ace Steel

Todd Sexton defeated Ace Steel in 6:44 by pinfall with a Sweet Chin Music. This match brought the crowd's mood down. E+

Axl Rotten v Nate Webb

Axl Rotten defeated Nate Webb in 8:54 by pinfall with a Severe Skull Trauma. E+

Joey Ryan v Reckless Youth

Ryan is rusty, while Youth put in a good performance. The two showed good chemistry although the match went on a little long. Reckless Youth defeated Joey Ryan in 8:15 by pinfall with a Northern Lights 2K1. D-

Super Dragon v Ric Blade

Super Dragon defeated Ric Blade in 7:21 by pinfall with a Psycho Driver 2000. D

Mike Quackenbush v Matt Cappotelli

The match suffered a little by the two not clicking. Mike Quackenbush defeated Matt Cappotelli in 14:39 by pinfall with a Quackendriver. D-

A video plays to close Rising Stars to promote the Christmas Cheer pay per view, highlighting AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio Jr and Ken Shamrock. C

Christmas Cheer

Sunday, week 4, December 2003

Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, FL.

A limo pulls up at the arena entrance and out steps all of Jarrett's World Order including British Bulldog who is suffering from a severe concussion. They say little and only talk to each other as they walk into the arena, looking all business. B-

Sexual Standouts v Cocky Connection

A solid opening bout and a good example of the tag team division that TNA is starting to build. Sexual Standouts were a team of two halves. While Mystery put in a good performance, Seaman Stains put in a poor one. Even so, they pick up the victory in 8:41 when Seaman Stains defeated Jimmy Rave by pinfall with a Tidal Wave. C-

A red pick up pulls up in the same area where the JWO limo arrived earlier. A yellow sports car can be seen in the background, empty. Out of the pick up steps AJ Styles carrying his bag and his belt, looking stoic and focused. C+

'Preacher' Christopher Daniels v Rocky Romero

What would probably have been a good match was let down a little with the two failing to work well together. This was Daniels' toughest test since coming into TNA and Romero was looking on top when Daniels rolled him up in 11:11 with a handful of tights and got the victory. D

Potter is backstage. He informs the watching world that to ensure that Jeff Jarrett or anybody else can't get up to anything and spoil the champion versus champion main event, he is going to be the special referee for it. C-

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Doug Williams (champion) & Ernest Miller v Spank Wang v Beer Money

Miller was poor tonight, he seems to have been off the boil somewhat as of late. Beer Money looked much the better team but everything changed at the end of the match. While Miller was battling Spanky and Jimmy Yang came to Spanky's aid, British Bulldog came down and distracted 'Cowboy' James Storm. This allowed Doug Williams to put Storm in a small package. Bulldog held on to Storm's foot, unseen by Mark Johnson and Williams wins in 11:57 just before Roode can break up the pin. D+

While Storm is questioning the referee's count, British Bulldog runs in and attacks, beating Cowboy down into the mat. E+

Ultimate X

Winner gets X Division Championship match at New Year's Nightmare

Carlito v Colt Cabana v Frankie Kazarian v Nova v Sheik Abdul Bashir v Psicosis

As has happened in recent weeks, Carlito again performed poorly while Psicosis looked good. As expected, the teams of Caribbean Cool and Revolution worked together to help one of the team members retrieve the X. The end came in 17:13. All four members of Caribbean Cool and Revolution were battling near the X when their battle led to all four dropping to the mat. With Psicosis seemingly out of it, Bashir swings his way across the wire. However, in a stunning move, Psicosis had climbed the structure holding the wires across, leapt off the top with a drop kick, knocking Bashir off and somehow managed to hang on to one of the wires in the process. With the other five down, Psicosis retrives the X and gets a championship match. A good Ultimate X debut. C+

'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett goes backstage into the locker room, only to find a note taped to his bags. He reads it, looks rather shocked and worried, then quickly leaves. B-

TNA HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

Cage match

'Super' Steve Corino (champion) v 'Wildcat' Chris Harris v CM Punk

This match allowed for victory by escape, pinfall or submission. All three men were cut open following use of the cage, Harris in particularly bleeding profusely. Punk was getting on top of Corino while Harris started to slowly climb the cage behind him. Punk hits the Pepsi Plunge on Corino in 13:48. Harris is just getting over the top of the cage... 1, Harris is over... 2, he's getting down... 3, he's about three foot short of touching the floor. CM Punk wins the TNA Hardcore title. C-

Shamrock is on camera, not saying a lot, other than Jarrett had better be ready for a cross wrestling cross UFC match and it's only going to be a matter of time before Jarrett taps.

Submission match for Ken Shamrock's World Championship match contract

Ken Shamrock v 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett (with Ernest Miller & Doug Williams)

Shamrock put on a clinic in the opening ten minutes, using strikes, takedowns and a variety of submission holds, but Jarrett would not tap. When Shamrock put Jarrett in a Fujiwara armbar after around 13 minutes, Miller enters the ring and breaks it up, prompting Garry Morere to eject him from ringside. Two minutes later, Jarrett locks on the figure four. Shamrock withstands the hold for nearly a full two minutes before managing to get to the ropes. On 18 minutes, Shamrock locks in the ankle lock, and a second before Jarrett starts tapping like mad, Williams had entered the ring and punched Morere, knocking him out before hitting Shamrock over the head with a steel chair. Shamrock is dazed, and Jarrett again locks on the figure four as Mark Johnson runs into the ring. Shamrock isn't tapping, and Williams is on the apron shouting at him to tap, when suddenly he falls off the apron quite violently and with no apparent reason. Jarrett looks up with a look of pure shock and horror and releases the figure four. The camera pans across and... it's STING! Sting points his baseball bat up at Jarrett who is leaning over the ropes at Sting. Behind him, Shamrock lets out a roar. He turns Jarrett round, nails a belly to belly suplex, locks him in the ankle lock and Jarrett taps. TNA's best ever match? It's close with AJ v Rey at last year's Christmas Chaos. B-

As we wait for the match between AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio Jr to commence, Don West and Tenay run us through the Tale Of The Tape. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT & TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS

60 minutes iron man match - Potter is special referee

AJ Styles (World Champion) v Rey Mysterio Jr (X Division Champion)

A slower paced match than usual between these two, but a bout to rival their match last year and the submission match immediately preceeding it. The two men shake hands to start the match. AJ shocks Rey in just 2:42 with an early Styles Clash and pinfall. 1-0 to Styles. After 22:52 and with AJ having most of the match following the early fall, British Bulldog runs into the ring. Before Potter can stop him, he decks AJ with a chair. Reluctantly, Potter is forced to call for a DQ decision making it 2-0 to Styles before forcing ejecting Bulldog, first by brawling with him, then by throwing him through a fire exit. The chair shot enables Mysterio to mount a comeback, and he is eventually rewarded after 44:06 when he hits a 619 and West Coast Pop to make it 1-2 to Styles. On 59:42 Rey flies off the top rope and nails a perfect high cross body. Potter gets in position to count the fall when Styles rolls through, Potter counts to three and Styles makes it 3-1 with only 13 seconds left. Styles celebrates in the middle of the ring, while Mysterio looks crestfallen in a corner as time runs out and the bell rings. B-

Potter awards Styles both the World and X Division championship belts and he raises them in the center of the ring. Despite his clear disappointment Rey walks up to Styles, offers him a handshake which AJ takes and the two embrace in the ring, the crowd cheering their approval and chanting TNA as the show ends. C

that was an excellent card! surprised to see Jarrett tapped out but glad at the same time. The Shamrock vs AJ match should be a doozy. Plus Styles has to defend the X title vs Psicosis.

If you can feed him enough good challengers during the year Styles could jump in the top 100. You need a few guys to at least make the top 20 next year (is top 10 asking too much?). If Samoa Joe could just stay healthy, he could be another fast riser. The fun part is going to be seeing who you can push this year so they break into the top 100 (like Wildcat Chris Harris?)

don't remember what your last PPV buy rate was at your NOV PPV, but this seemed respectable (maybe not a huge drop despite your weekly ppv strategy). Disappointed to see a smaller crowd in your home base for the supershow than you drew in KS for the weekly ppv though. Hopefully it was all enough to give you a profitable month and turn your fortunes around - buying you a lot more time in your venture.

who's the guy who's making the money demands and being shown the door? hopefully not Corino! He'd make a good match with Styles too

Thanks Olympia.

I twisted things a bit to make Jarrett lose.

Styles does have to defend against Psicosis at New Year Nightmare, but not necessarily Shamrock. He has a championship match at an unspecified time, it can be whenever he wants.

The pay per view buy rate only dropped 0.01. While the industry is E+ and rising, the economy is F+ and falling. I was disappointed by the crowd too, we expected over 6000 so I booked a medium sized arena.

There is one who is demanding double money and therefore won't be staying. There is also one who has signed a developmental deal with WWF. All will be revealed soon.

Explosion

Tuesday, week 1, January 2004

Greyhound Arena, Portales, NM.

A guitar heavy tune plays and out walks Sting to a loud reception. Tenay and West play up Sting's arrival as much as possible on commentary. Sting gets on the mic and thanks the fans for their welcome. He goes on to say he is here for two reasons. One is that he will never work for Vince McMahon and he wants to help build TNA to be in a position to rival and eventually overcome the WWF. Secondly, he has history from WCW with Jeff Jarrett and in the immediate future, he wants to put that history to bed. On leaving, he tells the fans it's great to be in TNA, which of course gets a loud pop. C+

Cocky Connection v Billy Reil & Ric Blade

Despite Jimmy Rave putting in a good performance, this was a match to forget in all honesty and not the best way to kick off this week's action on Explosion. Cocky Connection earn the win in 9:12 when Johnny Devine defeated Billy Reil by pinfall following a Cocks Connect. E+

Potter walks to the ring and wishes everybody a Happy New Year. With New Year Nightmare less than two weeks away, and what happened two nights ago at Christmas Cheer, he feels there are some issues to address. Firstly, if Bulldog wants AJ Styles so bad, he's got him, for the title at New Year Nightmare in a lumberjack match to prevent any interference from Jarrett's World Order. Staying with AJ, Potter congratulates him on becoming a double champion in TNA, but it means he also has to pull double duty, following Psicosis winning Ultimate X. One other title will be defended, where CM Punk will defend his regained Hardcore Championship against the winner of a match on next week's Explosion between The Sandman and an opponent to be announced. Beer Money can earn another shot at the Tag Team Championship when they face Caribbean Cool, Revolution and Sexual Standouts in a four way at New Year Nightmare. Finally, Potter is ecstatic to have Sting working for TNA, and he spies a wonderful opportunity for him to right some wrongs of the past. At the same time, as Ernest Miller and Doug Williams interfered so much in the submission match at Christmas Cheer, there will be a two on three match pitting Sting and Ken Shamrock against Jarrett, Miller and Williams. And that... is the Potter Promise. It seems Potter has a phrase now. C

The Sandman v Frank

Frank is also known in other promotions as Alter Boy Luke. A rather mediocre match sees Axl Rotten come down to distract Frank, assisting his tag team partner in The Extremeists to win in 11:37 by pinfall with a White Russian Leg Sweep D

Prophecy v Spank Wang

Prophecy is a new team to TNA of Abyss and Chance Prophet who have teamed together in other promotions previously. A good tag match, where Prophecy's power overcomes Spank Wang's speed and agility. The end comes in 14:20 when Abyss defeated Jimmy Yang by pinfall with The Black Hole. C-

Jeff Jarrett is walking backstage, being followed by the entire JWO. He is yelling for Sting to come out of hiding and show himself. With Sting not appearing, Jarrett starts thrashing anything and everything he lays his eyes on until he comes across his father, Jerry Jarrett, who calms him down to a degree. B-

TNA HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

CM Punk v Sabu

Punk proves there is life after Corino by putting in a good performance. There isn't really anything these two haven't shown before in this match, but Sandman and Axl Rotten both run down during the match and attacked Sabu, Sandman with his trademark Singapore cane and Rotten with a barbed wire bat. While Punk wasn't too enthused about this turn of events, nonetheless it allowed him to win in 13:49 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. CM Punk makes defence number 1 of his TNA Hardcore title. C-

Sheik Abdul Bashir v 'Wildcat' Chris Harris

Bashir showed his potential and how far he has come thus far in this match and gained a somewhat shock (and clean) victory over Harris in 11:49 by pinfall with a Magic Carpet Ride. C-

'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett is walking backstage still shouting for Sting, although now he is considerably calmer and alone. He stops, almost as if he feels someone watching him. He looks around, doesn't see anyone, and so continues walking. Seconds later, a shadowy figure emerges from hiding, having been there the whole time, and walks off. B-

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

AJ Styles v Amazing Red

A good match with plenty of aerial action, pretty much what the X Division is all about. Red put up a good fight, but the class of AJ shone through as he beat Red in 15:27 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. AJ Styles makes defence number 1 of his TNA X Division title. C-

Psicosis v Rey Mysterio Jr

A really good match, perhaps as good as the submission and iron man matches two nights ago at Christmas Cheer. Psicosis continued his hotstreak, but just when Rey had mounted a comeback, Sheik Abdul Bashir ran in while Psicosis distracted Garry Morere and took him down with a low blow from behind. This enabled Psicosis to hit the Guillotine Leg Drop in 17:23 and get the pin. B-

Jeff Jarrett then comes out to the ring, and calls out Sting to meet him face to face in the ring to see what his problem is. WCW is way in the past, Jarrett is the one who started TNA, this is his house and he had not wanted Sting to arrive. Jarrett screams "Come on Sting" when the lights go out. When they come back on, Sting is standing in front of Jarrett and floors him with one punch, which prompts Jarrett to scurry away. The two men point at each other as Jarrett backs up the ramp. C

Rising Stars

Thursday, week 1, January 2004

Frontier Fieldhouse, Chicago Ridge, IL.

Kaos v BJ Whitmer

BJ is rusty. Kaos defeated BJ Whitmer in 6:10 by pinfall with a Kaostrify. E+

Potter walks out onto the ramp and runs down the rest of tonight's card. C-

Slyk Wagner Brown v Chino Martinez

Not a bad match considering the two don't look like they click. Slyk Wagner Brown defeated Chino Martinez in 6:45 by pinfall with a Drop Of Xtacy. D

A short video plays hyping AJ Styles vs. Psicosis. C

Lou Fisto v Mickie James

Terrible, I had hoped for much more. Fisto was rusty, yet the two showed great chemistry. The women's division looks like dying on it's arse. Lou Fisto defeated Mickie James in 9:23 by pinfall with a Diving Star. F+

A video plays hyping AJ Styles vs. British Bulldog. E

The Ram v American Wild Child

The Ram, who I have called so because of his resemblence to the character The Ram in future 2009 movie The Wrestler, put in a poor performance. The Ram defeated American Wild Child in 9:46 by pinfall with a Top Rope Splash. E+

A music video airs briefly recapping what has happened between Ken Shamrock, Sting, and 'The Ring King' Jeff Jarrett. C+

Tony Mamaluke v NOSAWA

Tony Mamaluke defeated NOSAWA in 12:06 by submission with a Sicilian Stretch. D

Show rating: D-

Attendance: 919

don't remember you being that popular in NM and the west so this was a huge success. I'd expect you to reach a .03 buy rate on the weekly shows very soon if you keep this up!!

I sent you a PrivateMessage - check it out.

New Mexico is the Mid South isn't it?

0.03 would be nice. TV negotiations restart in February though.

Replied to your message. :)
