NOTBPW : Set in Stone

Recommended Posts

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/NOTBPW.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">The Background</span></p><p> </p><p>

NOTBPW is currently the biggest Canadian Wrestling Promotion, and it's not hard to figure out why. Created by the Legendary Dan Stone in 1985, they have a strong pool of talent that helps promote the show. With talent like Dan Stone Jr, Jeremy Stone, Sean McFly, Johnny Bloodstone and Dark Angel promoting the shows, it's hard not to find a Canadian Fan Not in their seat. Plus, with a female division, with some great prospects, and probably one of the best of them, Melody Cuthill. However, NOTBPW has never actually gone toe to toe with another promotion and tried to win a face-off with another Group of people. Take USPW, yes they are lower on the rankings than NOTBPW, however they aren't very far. If NOTBPW could rid themselves of them, they'd gain much more respect. However, maybe Scott Ripley can change that.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">What We Stand For</span></p><p> </p><p>

NOTBPW's Main Focuses are Traditional Wrestling and Realism. They Also offer Pure Wrestling, Modern Style and Hardcore Style, with just the slightest bit of Hyper Realism and Mainstream. This makes them a more traditional company, that are trying to keep Tradition in Wrestling, and not letting it slip away to the Mainstream Companies as well as the other styles that are trying to let Tradition go. NOTBPW really wants to display Performance more than anything. Dan Stone, a former wrestler himself, has told the roster not to be gimmicky or being fake, just wrestle, actually display your athletic ability, and it's worked so far.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">What I Plan To Do</span></p><p> </p><p>

When I take over NOTBPW, I plan on really keeping the product that they have, it truly is something that I am able to book, and truth be told I'm not a big fan of Gimmicks and Pre-Defined Winners. For the Agreement with CGC, I plan on ending our relationship with them down the road, but that won't be for awhile. We are traditional, and I plan on keeping it that way, so everything will be traditional. You won't see us booking a House of Fun Match or something like that. What you see is what you get with us. For the wrestlers, Dan Stone Jr, Jeremy Stone could easily start a feud with somebody else on the roster, or even start a Tag Feud. A plan on creating some stables and cause some sort of Gang Wars, is the best way to put it. Eventually there will probably be somebody trying to break in and steal or momentum, and that's what we are trying to protect, I expect SWF or TCW to try and stop us, but that won't happen.</p><p> </p><p>

After My First show I decided I would change the product a little bit, changing the match ratio to 80 %, to allow more crowds to come and watch. I also bumped Mainstream up to Low, again to attract more fans. While this means more Angles and perhaps the occasional storyline, it still allows me to keep the traditional approach, which is my main goal.</p></div><p></p><p></p>

Well. I liked his pictures, and you know, it's hard to resist using those shiny little flags :p

Well, I did steal the flags from another game, so...

All of them except for the European Union flag. Which is why its not exactly shiny like the rest are.

Looking forward to a solid NOTBPW diary. Gotta love the Stone boys.

North of the Border Pro Wrestling Presents...

Championship Wrestling

Show Preview

So tonight, since we are still in the process of making many new signings, and since we are Heel Heavy at the moment, we had trouble putting together some good match-ups, however we did come up with some good ones, that could turn out to be some of the best matches of the year. The Stone Brothers are in action tonight as they each face off with dangerous opponents, as Jeremy goes Toe to Toe with Dark Angel. Dark Angel is one of the Premier Super Juniors in the world today, and a marquis match-up with Jeremy Stone could push him to the title shot this month. Stone however is a very popular name in Canada, and not only that, Stone is also a member of the Major Stable "Family Matters" and with Sean McFly in his corner tonight, along with his father Dan, both brothers should look great. Dan Stone Jr will be locking horns with Head Street Thug of the Street Cred Gang, R.K. Hayes. Hayes is a rugged brawler, and we should expect a technical battle at the beginning, but it will definitely turn into a Slugging war at some point.

Melody Cuthill will be defending her title against Emma Bitch tonight as well, in a match that could really push Melody up the Female World Ranks. With probably the best skills the female division of NOTBPW has ever seen, she could turn out to be the best Female Champion NOTBPW will ever see. However, Emma has the potential to upset many of the Women in our organization, however, she just doesn't have the drive to do it, which could cause to see her go down tonight. Also on the card, Ed Henson Memorial Cup Champions, The Can-Am Blondes will be locking up with The McWade Brothers in a straight up brawl. The McWades have the size advantage, and the experience, however The Can-Am Blondes are very talented and technically sound. This could make for a very interesting bout.

But to start off our night, Gregg Boone will be representing "Street Cred" Against "Demolition Crew's" Derek Frost. Boone is a straight up brawler, but so is Frost on the other hand, but then again, Boone has a Gang to help him, so expect some interferences from "Street Cred"

Gregg Boone vs. Derek Frost - Playaz are normally completely worthless, but the stable suggests you may have plans for them.

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The McWade Brothers - Both underrated, IMO.

Melody Cuthill © vs. Emma Bitch - No wasting a title change first show.

Dan Stone Jr. vs. R.K. Hayes

Jeremy Stone vs. Dark Angel - They're the Stones, come on.

Gregg Boone vs. Derek Frost

Need to establish the stable as a credible threat

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The McWade Brothers

They won the Hanson, McWades are yesterday's news

Melody Cuthill © vs. Emma Bitch

Unless Bitch starts with high momentum, credible champion needs to be built up

Dan Stone Jr. vs. R.K. Hayes

Heel uses heel tactics to win

Jeremy Stone vs. Dark Angel

But faces top it off to end the show on a high note

Gregg Boone vs. Derek Frost

As others said the fact that the Playaz have joined up with every other African-American in NOTBPW to form a stable, suggest that you have plans for them beyond jobbing them out

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The McWade Brothers

Every team in the Tag Division seems to be heel, and something has to be done about that. In my opinion the McWades have more going for them as 'honest hard working' faces so the Blondes go over here via some form of cheating, that will earn the lumberjack brothers some sympathy heat. At least that's what I would do.

Melody Cuthill © vs. Emma Bitch

Keep the champion looking strong for his first defence of the year. If you were going to do a title change first show it would be to get the Tag Belts off the Kelowna Playaz.

Dan Stone Jr. vs. R.K. Hayes

DQ win, Stone shouldn't be beaten clean by Hayes but as the leader of what looks to be a threatening new heel stable...he should remain looking relatively bad-ass.

Jeremy Stone vs. Dark Angel

1. Stone's should be kept strong

2. Dark Angel is talented but is worn down and should be slowly faded out of the main event scene.

Predictions Form

Gregg Boone vs. Derek Frost-It's OK for a tag champ to lose in a singles match. Not sure where Demolition Crew rank as far as credible challengers, but this would be a good way to set it up.

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The McWade Brothers-You still have 3 months to build up to the Tag Team Memorial Cup, but is it too early to give them something to say like "We'll win it again" or something like that? Probably not. Could even become an ongoing storyline between them (not sure if they were finalists the year before).

Melody Cuthill © vs. Emma Bitch-Keep the champ strong.

Dan Stone Jr. vs. R.K. Hayes-I like the DQ idea to keep Hayes strong. Even with the other Street Cred member losing, Hayes can be a credible threat (also building the stable's credibility) by having a complete disregard for Dan Stone, Jr. It'd be hard to explain, but at least at first making them dangerous as opposed to unbeatable would seem to fit more with Hayes.

Jeremy Stone vs. Dark Angel-Jeremy for the win here. Both Stones win, but under different circumstances.

Tom Townsend - Tommy London

Tom Townsend : Hello Everybody !

Tommy London : Indeed ! We are live from Smallwood Field ! With a Full House of 2,000 People to watch our 5 Match Card tonight !

Tom Townsend : So Let's Get To It !

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/GreggBoone.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/DerekFrost.jpg

Gregg Boone vs. Derek Frost

Fairly Boring match-up, however The One Bright point of the match came when Craig Green came in and dropped Frost with a wicked Clothes Line. Frost went down, and as Alysian tried to enter the ring, Harlem Haynes knocked him back to end any speculation of an Upset. Harlem, Boone and Greene eventually started Gang Beating on Frost, and Boone eventually hits the pin at the 10:40 mark.

Gregg Boone wins @ 10:40 with a Murder on the Dancefloor

Grade : C+

Tom Townsend : Well, I guess Street Cred is Legit, either that, or they're a bunch of cheaters. Either way I'm excited to see Hayes' Match Tonight !

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/JeremyStone.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/DarkAngel.jpg

Jeremy Stone & Dark Angel

Hype Video

Multiple Submissions and Pinfalls from both men are highlighted

Dan Stone Jr. : Jeremy Stone, is one of the most intelligent wrestlers I've ever seen, and I'm not just saying that because he's my brother, the guy is absolutely menacing, I don't think I've ever seen anybody step into the ring with him without doubting themselves...

Jeremy Stone's Intense Staredown's are highlighted

John Maverick : As much as I want to say Jeremy is going to win this battle, I think he's gotten a little too big for his britches, and I think Dark Angel is going to take advantage of that and use his incredible flying moves to surprise Jeremy...

Dark Angel's Multiple Flips and Jumps are highlighted

Jeremy Stone : There's No way he's going to beat me, Not this year, not the next, Never. I feel I'm one of the best Canadian Wrestler's out there, if Not the best, and If somebody like Dark Angel is able to beat me, then I'll really need to consider going back to the drawing board...

Jeremy Stone's Intense Training sessions are highlighted.

Dark Angel : He's Not Faster Than Me, He's Not Stronger than me, he's nothing better than me, and If he thinks he's at a higher level than me, he's just completely wrong. The Brits Can Wrestle and I'm going to prove that Tonight, and that Dark Angel is here to stay, and take the title...

Dark Angel's Training Sessions are highlighted.

Dan Stone : These are the matches I truly Love to watch, I mean, even though Jeremy is an Insane wrestler, and my son, Dark Angel poses an incredible threat to anybody he fights, and If Jeremy doesn't bring his A-Game Tonight, he will be shocked...

At the end of the video, We see Jeremy and Dark Angel engaging in a Staredown, and the Video Fades to Black...

Grade : B

Tommy London : Now, You see, this Is why I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here at NOTBPW, just because of the insane matches that can be put together.

Tom Townsend : I do have to agree with that statement London, I can't Wait !

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/TheNatural_alt1.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/OwenLove_alt2.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/DallasMcWade.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/DeanMcWade.jpg

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The McWade Brothers

The Natural and Owen Love really did their jobs tonight, as They just beat The McWade's up in mere seconds. Dallas and Dean we're both tired going into the Fifth Minute, and that allowed The Natural to catch Dean off guard, taking him to the canvas, and finishing him with a Nature Calls while Owen Love held off Dallas. Dallas was obviously upset with something, but nothing was said after the match.

The Can-Am Blondes win @ 6:33 when The Natural defeated Dean McWade with a Nature Calls

Grade : C+

Tommy London : I wonder what the hell happened that Made Dean and Dallas so upset ?

Tom Townsend : I don't Know, but I'm sure we'll find out very soon.

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/Belts/NOTBPW_Womens_alt.jpg

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/MelodyCuthill.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/EmmaBitch.jpg

Melody Cuthill vs. Emma Bitch

NOTBPW Women's Championship

Melody Cuthill came in very tough and ready to go, Emma Bitch looked as intimidating as ever. I'm sure that phased Melody, but not enough to stop her from Performing to the same extent as always. Melody came forward strong and quickly hit Emma with some stiff punches before hitting a Melody Maker, this obviously hurt Emma, and Melody was quick to notice it, as she rushed in and pinned the hurt Bitch for the win.

Melody Cuthill wins @ 7:45 with a Melody Maker

Grade : C-

Tom Townsend : Well, that was quite the expected finish from the Champ, Great job done by Cuthill.

Tommy London : But now, it's time for the Main Attractions, as Dan Stone Jr steps into the ring against Street Cred Leader, R.K. Hayes.

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/DanStoneJr.jpghttp://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/RKHayes.jpg

Dan Stone Jr. vs. R.K. Hayes

Dan Stone Jr. came in legitimately ready for a great battle, but Hayes had other plans. Again up to their dirty tricks, Street Cred came in to help, as If it wasn't planned at all, but It wasn't an immediate aid. As soon as Stone started picking the Leader of the Heel Gang apart, Boone and Green jumped into the ring to hold Stone back, but Stone was prepared for this, and signaled Johnny Bloodstone and Jeremy Stone to come in for assistance and immediately took care of the Tag Team Champions with ease. Harlem Haynes and Omar Brown came in to help R.K. and weren't successful, just as the last members were. Stone signaled for his Brother and his Friend to leave the ring to make sure the rest of the gang don't get back in the ring. Stone gets back to what he was doing before, and took R.K. out quickly with a Stone Ankle Stretch to end the bout.

Dan Stone Jr. wins @ 21:36 with a Stone Ankle Stretch

Grade : B-

Tommy London : Well, I certainly expected Street Cred to come out and try to help out their leader, but, to see Stone and Bloodstone come out and fight back, was just plain unexpected !

Tom Townsend : And That's what I love about this Sport !

Tommy London : You and me both buddy, Now we've seen the Hype, now it's time for the match. Jeremy Stone and Dark Angel will finally go at it.

Jeremy Stone vs. Dark Angel

Dark Angel immediately comes in quickly and tries to rid himself of Stone very quickly, but Stone was prepared, and avoided the Move. Stone quickly shot under and neutralized the High Flyer, and proceeded to beat him down hard, eventually lifting the Brit up and slamming him back down to the canvas.; Dark Angel tries to lock on to a Bulldog Head Lock, and Stone Slams him back down once more, shaking him off like a little kid. Stone gets back up, and hits some stomps, before jumping back down and bringing him to the corner to beat on him some more. Jeremy eventually tries his own submission after about 5 minutes of pounding. He locks in the Stone Hold, and Dark Angel eventually taps out due to the pain.

Jeremy Stone wins @ 28:23 with a Stone Hold

Show Preview

So our next card is booked, and The Stone's Are supposed to have a very special announcement. New Female Contenders will be showcased, and I will be in my first match.

R.K. Hayes has been mouthing off to the Stone's lately, so Jeremy has decided to put a stop to it, challenging Hayes to a match, in front of the British Columbia Public. Hayes accepted, and expect some dirty tricks from the Street Cred Gang. Dan Stone Jr is also showing up, this time against John Maverick, in a match that is sure to be a straight up Ground Battle. And Johnny Bloodstone will appear in a Non-Title match-up to remove his ring rust before Big City Brawl.

Also, The Can-Am Blondes finally get a Title Shot, against Street Cred Representatives Gregg Boone and Craig Green. Expect some problems courtesy of R.K. Hayes and Street Cred Representatives Omar Brown and Harlem Haynes. Also, Geena The Warrior Princess takes on Grace harper, and Joanne Rodriguez and Stephanie Hazel will lock horns.

Pretty good first show. I'd like some of the characterisations to be bit more vivid and colourful, but it's NOTBPW, so what did I expect? :) I also seem to recall the 2007 NOTBPW product didn't like tainted finishes, but I guess you've changed that... or Adam did for 08.

Good start, I'll be keeping an eye of this.

Stephanie Hazel vs. Joanne Rodriguez - Go on, don't push J-Ro, be different!

Geena The Warrior Princess vs. Grace Harper - Under-rated

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The Kelowna Playaz © - The better tag team

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Scott Ripley - Because Bloodstone is awesome

Dan Stone Jr. vs. John Maverick - Because everyone loves Dan Jr.

Jeremy Stone vs. R.K. Hayes - Street Cred need cred.

Stephanie Hazel vs. Joanne Rodriguez

J-Ro could quickly become that wrestler who helps take the womens division to a new level

Geena The Warrior Princess vs. Grace Harper

Grace is more established in Canada

The Can-Am Blondes vs. The Kelowna Playaz ©

The Playaz retain due to interfefence. Blondes I imagine will be the default faces in this one but you will need to properly turn one of the teams for the fans to get behind.

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Scott Ripley

So Bloodstone is now face, aligning himself with what are/were his rivals in the Stones to counter the Street Cred stable. As for this match, this will be a routine win for the champ.

Dan Stone Jr. vs. John Maverick

Maverick isn't quite at the level yet (more in terms of overness than ability) to go over one of the Stones.

Jeremy Stone vs. R.K. Hayes

Hayes needs to look relatively strong if he is to be the number one heel threat. So I see this ended as a no contest due to inteference from the rest of Street Cred. Might irritate the fans but sometimes a non finish is needed to help push an angle/storyline along. Otherwise this feud isn't going to get very far if the Stones just hand Hayes and his crew their asses every night.
