I would love to do a Japanese or Mexican promotion but I must admit to never really seeing much of either in real life(I saw some sort of exploding deathmatch with Terry Funk in it from the early 1990's). And therefore, I am not really sure how they work so I will leave them to the people who known what they are doing. Yeah, but is there a gender-specific thing in the angles file? I mean, I'd hate to be looking through another promotion's shows, and see a big tough main eventer taking first prize in a bikini contest. Ya know? I think the idea was that no male workers are going to generate the sort of reaction based on their looks that Trish/Sable/Maria/Kelly Kelly etc. makes a good deal of sense, hence their sex appeal peak being lower. Conversely a female worker will not be as menacing as Khali/Undertaker/Big Show etc. (Women seem to be capped in menace as well). I think there is a certain degree of truth to the above statements in the sense that guys like Cena/Morrison don't draw in as many fans on the strength of their looks as an equally attractive WWE diva would. Most wrestling fans are male so it follows that a Cena can't get the same crowd reaction based on sex appeal as a Maria. i.e. If Cena/Morrison/Whoever were to do constant strip teases like Kelly Kelly or 90s Kat then the predominantly male audience wouldn't receive the angle very well. The demographics for wrestling are just wrong for it. Further, someone like Amazing Kong isn't as scary as Taker due to the fact that a 7 foot tall, 400 + pound woman doesn't exist, and if she does she isn't in wrestling. Beth Phoinex may be tough, but she isn't tanking a sledge hammer from Triple H in a believable way - she just isn't big or menacing enough for the fans to buy it. ^^ That said, both of those statements only serve to accentuate the fact that there is an exception to every rule. It's not impossible for a guy to be so attractive/high in sex appeal that he simply brings in more female viewers, and it's also not impossible that a huge, big show/Khali sized female exist. So it's entirely possible for men to have higher than C+ sex appeal and women to have higher than C+ menace. I'm not arguing Morrison shouldn't be A, I'm just saying that any guy that is rated A would be able to elicit a crowed reaction based on their looks equal to that of the divas like Maria/Kelly etc. Most good looking male workers that get pushed on sex appeal would probably bomb in angles simply because the audience is mostly male. I remember Val Venis tried a sex appeal gimmick/push a few years ago to mixed results. It's not that he wasn't attractive, the audience just wasn't there for it. The way I look at it though the game doesn't specify the gender/age/etc. breakdown of your crowds. So to me if a guy has an A sex appeal it just means that he's bringing in a lot more women to shows on the strength of his looks. Conversely, a woman with an A menace is just simply huge/scary looking in a way we've never seen from a female worker before. ^_^ I love pushing workers on sex appeal/menace more than probably anyone here (I'm making a promotion based off the premise ), so if we decide to treat males and female identically on sex appeal/menace stats I'm not complaining.
