<p>Yeah I saw the Ole turn before, but that was werid seeing him as a fan favorite in the first interview. And what was up with Gordon's peach suit?<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I also saw another clip on there with Mike Davis. Is that the same Mike Davis from Global and TNA?</p><p> </p><p>

I just wanted to edit this because Mike Davis from Global and TNA are two different people. The one that I was thinking of died in 2001.</p>

<p>Mike Davis</p><p> </p><p>

it is the same one from Global. He went from GCW tv jobber to become one of the Rock & Roll RPM's. Also, in one of the coolest angles from Florida:</p><p>

does Dusty Rhodes really join forces with the evil Kevin Sullivan? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

on most of these, I made the champ #1 in the region. Some others, I listed the champ and the top contenders. Kind of hard making the Southern Champ ranked #6 in the CWA, but he only had 2 matches. May try to be more consistent in future editions.

He's forgotten what its like to fight a real man, but he's getting a reminder tonight. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone his actions, but Mr. Olympia is one of the toughest SOB's in the sport today, and he's proving it once again tonight as he takes apart one of the top young stars in the world." Once again, Reed has to contend with Skandar Akbar and Friday, but this time he is able to overcome all the odds. Kamala works over Reed with overhead chops and that dreaded armpit claw. Reed powers up and is able to break free. He has the Ugandan Giant reeling with good ol' American rights and lefts. Friday and Akbar both enter the ring, but this time Reed was ready! He grabs them and bangs their heads together sending them flying from the ring. Then he turns his attention back to Kamala. AS Bill Watts exclaims: "He's FIST AND FIRE!! He's hitting the big man with everything he's got, but Kamala won't go down!!!" At 11:25, Reed nails a shoulderblock finally taking Kamala off his feet. Reed covers and scores the big win!! The crowd erupts with their approval. great stuff so far! That was a great Murdoch promo, actually they both are... The one from St. Louis which you included as well as his promo hping his match with Brisco...

Also great retort, by Jim Ross (absolutely sounds like something Ross would've said)

A little surprised Magnum won the TV title, but I gess Kendo's lack of getting over had something to do with that... Butch Reed certainly elevating himself with his big victory (some might call it an upset).... And poor tiger Conway, maybe if he'd just focus himself in Mid South he'd have a chance.... I almost feel obliged to sign him in my dynasty, so he can defend his honor, or so that I can make fun of him facing real competition in the major leagues ;-)

Also great job with the PWI rankings.... That does seem like alot of work, Thats why I shorten it to to top 5.... But its nice to get a feel of whats going on in your gme world... ALOT of similarites... Like, whats up with Ric Flair never wrestling...and who is Roger Kirby beating the likes of Bruiser Brody & Harley Race!

Alright, have to get my popcorn and back down to my ringside seats for the main events

Red, White, and Brawl continues as the bell rings, the lights flicker, and the fans hustle back to their seats;

Jim Ross and Bill Watts welcome their next guest color commentator to ringside, the man who is contemplating retirement - Mr. Wrestling II. The fans give the masked legend a standing ovation as he makes his way down the aisle. Bill Watts shakes his hand and tells him that he's always welcome here in Mid-South whether it's in the ring, sitting beside us at the broadcast table, or working backstage. Mr Wrestling II thanks the fans and he thanks Bill Watts for his generosity.

Ted Dibiase and Matt Borne make their way to the broadcast table. Ted takes the house mike: "Enough with the tears. Pul-lease! We've had enough of 'This week at the Old Folks Home' - we're out here to talk about the here and now. I understand Junkyard Dog has been in the back begging everyone he can find to be his tag team partner. Everyone has refused him. Magnum TA is too tipsy after celebrating his title win. Butch Reed just finished a grueling match with Kamala for crying out loud. Dr. Death would, but the Rat Pack took care of earlier tonight. I guess there's always Tiger Conway <evil Dibiase laugh> but I hear he caught the first plane to Podunk Pennsylvania.....or was it Connecticut <evil laugh> Dibiase orders Bill Watts to just raise their hands in forfeit. Watts refuses to do that "I have it on good authority Mr. Dibiase, that Junkyard Dog DOES have a tag team partner". Dibiase and Borne look at each other in surprised glances. Ted demands to know who it is. He asks Watts who it is. Watts shakes his head. Ted looks at Jim Ross and asks him. Ross says he has no idea. Ted turns to the 3rd member of the broadcast team. Mr Wrestling II said he heard rumors in the back about the mystery partner. Dibiase's face is turning red....."I demand to know!!!" Mr Wrestling II said he can give Ted clue (to which Ted nods his head in agreement). Mr Wrestling II adds that "from what I understand......the man who agreed to be JYD's partner tonight......is the next man.....to hit you right between the eyes" -- Dibiase shrugs his shoulders as if he doesn't understand the cryptic message - to wit Mr Wrestling II hauls off and slugs the leader of the Rat Pack upside the head!!! The masked man drops Matt Borne too for good measure and climbs in the ring where he is joined by the Junkyard Dog!! Watts and Ross are screaming uncontrollably....."JYD has found a partner - none other than the legendary Mr. Wrestling II!!"

Mid-South Tag Title match

Rat Pack defend vs MW2 and JYD

and what a war it was. The challengers took the fight to the Rat Pack and several times we expect to see new champs. The fans chant "2, 2, 2" in honor their masked hero. Dibiase had an ace in the hole as he often does. His hired gun Bobby Jaggers comes to ringside to join bodyguard Phil Hickerson. Mr Wrestling II traps Dibiase in the sleeper - Borne runs in to make the save, but JYD cuts him off. The referee tries to intervene and get JYD back to his corner. Jaggers grabs a chair and climbs up on the ring apron. He busts MW2 with the chair, knocking him out. Dibiase picks the slumped body up and applies his Cobra Clutch. The referee turns his attention back to them - lifts the arms which drops. Rat Pack retain the titles 20:09. (C+ rating)

After the match, Dibiase ordered his bodyguard Hickerso to drop the big splash on the masked man and finish him for good, but Hickerson refused and headed to the back. The Rat Pack follow him as Bill Watts climbs in the ring. Watts and JYD help Mr. Wrestling II to his feet. MW2 looks around groggily and asked what happened. Watts tells 2 that he looks like he was hit by a Mack Truck - and that truck's name was Bobby Jaggers. "I tell you what my friend. I know you're looking to retire soon....but before you do how bout I schedule a match between you and Jaggers on the next tv show - just 2 days away!!" Mr Wrestling nods his head and the fans road their approval for this match. (D+ segment - thankfully it was only a couple minutes long)

Jim Ross gets in the ring next.

"ladies and gentlemen. It's time for the Main Event. Let me introduce first, the challenger, weighing 277 pounds, from Waxahacie Texas - he is the current reigning North American Heavyweight champion and #1 contender Dirty Dick Murdoch! (who comes out to loud boos from the partial crowd).

And now...making his way to ringside. He is the NWA Champion....weighing 234 pounds from nearby Blackwell, Oklahoma - The Heavyweight Champion of the Worrrrrrrddddd ...... Jaaaack Briscooooooo!!!!!

World title match: Brisco vs Murdoch

The champion, Brisco, starts the match fast - using his technical skills to wear down the challenger. Headlocks, armlocks, and leglocks to possibly set Murdoch up for the Figure 4. Dick Murdoch fights back the best way he knows - punches, kicks, biting and choking. Jim Ross opines: "It is the skill of Brisco vs the brawling ability of Murdoch and the fans are getting their money worth." Brisco tries to control the tempo, taking Murdoch to the mat with rest holds. Then Murdoch blasts him again with punches.

It is back and forth for 30 minutes with neither man getting the advantage. Then Brisco misses with a flying dropkick - Murdoch moves in for the kill. He attackes the injured back and the champion is in trouble. Dick continues to drop elbows on Jack's back. Murdoch is methodical but deadly. Brisco gets to his feet but he is hobbled. He can barely defend his himself against the barrage of the challenger, Murdoch. Brisco slumps in the corner. He looks like a beaten man - Murdoch makes a mad bull charge that will finish him off....He catches referee Jerry Usher who stepped in to check on the condition of Brisco. Murdoch steps back to the middle of the ring and makes another charge....this time, Jack ducks his head and sends Murdoch flying over the top rope. Brisco makes the mistake of following Murdoch to the floor. Murdoch is at home on the concrete and he quickly sends Brisco crashing into the steel ringpost and then ringside railing. He delivers the feared Brainbuster on the bare concrete!!! He drags Brisco back into the ring...and sets him up for another Texas Brainbuster. Back-up referee Alfred Neeley runs to ringside to check on the fallen Usher. He sees Murdoch deliver his finisher and slides in the ring to make the count. 1....2....3!!!

Neeley raises the hand of Dick Murdoch and hands him the world title belt!!!!! Head Referee Jerry Usher holding his ribs, gets in the ring. He reaches out to the raised hand of Dick Murdoch to confirm that Murdoch is the winner....but then he takes hold of the title belt. He shakes his head and motions "toss over the top rope" His official decision was to disqualify Brisco when he threw Murdoch over the top rope. Jack will retain his NWA world title. Murdoch is the winner, but he is not happy with the decision!

I hope you enjoyed Red, White, and Brawl. Be sure to tune into Mid-South Wrestling this week. The main event will see Mr. Wrestling II taking on Hangman Bobby Jaggers. Also, Sheik Skandar Akbar has told he will be bringing in a surprise opponent for Butch Reed. In the battle of the giants, Kamala will take on Jim Lancaster - Kamala will try to get back on the winning track. Also a new wrestler will debut....we don't know much, only that he goes by the name of TRON.

Mr Wrestling II vs Bobby Jaggers

Kamala vs Lancaster

Reed vs Skandar's surprise

TRON vs Koko B Ware

The main event match rating was B!!

Final Show rating was only C+

Just wanted to be the first to congratulate you on 3000 views! Keep up the great work!:D

thank you!! nice little milestone for the first month of action. THANKS to everyone who is following along and for the advice/feedback you send along

great stuff so far! A little surprised Magnum won the TV title

thanks for your feedback - it was nice talking in the popcorn line during intermission. :D Historically, Magnum's first title was actually the North American title (October 1983 - my current year). He's not progressing that fast in the game. Despite his recent winning streak and title win, his momentum is stuck at C. His popularity has eked up from high D- (40) to low D+ (48.9). His opponent, Kendo Nagasaki, has been stuck in the high 30's. I had high hopes for Kendo with his good chemistry with a variety of wrestlers and "show stopper" status. I need more than a D match from my champions. Whether Magnum can deliver that or not remains to be seen. He's on a short leash - but's he got his opporunity to show me something.

While I'm talking about the show, I am confused about the final show rating. What with the last 3 segments being in the B range (angle and 2 main events). I would have thought B- was in the realm of possibility.

I think most the predictions went 4 of 5 even though each had different winners/losers. I'm glad WE are all staying that close with the picks. I don't like it when the results just don't make sense (swerves for the sake of trying to confuse "smarks" often just confuse the fanbase and make no sense. some recent real-life ones just irritate fans and ruin the entire show). So I hope we continue to stay on the same wave-length....just a few off-track results.

as for the PWI rankings - it was actually fun going back and looking at the matches and feuds from the different areas. I started to do the top 5, but there were so many good names that saw lots of action so I just had to list them. From the "Unpredictable' Johnny Rodz in WWF to the now famous Roger Kirby in Central States. The forgotten Nature Boy (between Rogers and Flair) made a name for himself in the old Gulf States among other places. He had great feuds with many of the old-time World champs (like Funk, Race, O'Conner, Thesz, Kiniski, Rogers, etc.). It'll be interesting to see if he continues his success against the likes of Race and Brody in Central States.

hope we see the ICW and GCW diaries resumes soon. Your WWF diary is the standard bearer. Hope you don't mind the "pot shots" Bill Watts takes from time to time. Trying to keep it real - focusing mainly on the Tiger Conway situation (making him a bigger deal than I think he ever was in real life). It would be funny if you were to bring him back into your roster.

Roger Kirby is one of those pretty decent wrestler that noone these days has ever heard of;in his time though,he was pretty succesful in the Gulf States,St.Louis and in Central States for Bob Geigel....actually earlier on he won the title from Danny Hodges in leroy McGuirk's Tri-States promotion,McGuirk and Hodges pretty much prided themselves on only putting their belt on people they felt were good wrestlers, and Danny Hodges is one of the top amatuer collegiate wrestlers ever,so I think that goes to say something about "Nature Boy" Kirby.

I grew up with wrestling in this era..... Consider myself a very knowledeable fan, and Roger Kirby is about the only top wrestler in this mod that I'm not that familiar with... He probably is a guy that I would really enjoy, because "good wrestlers" is the kind of wrestlers I'm fans of... Well I guess its off to youtube to watch some Roger Kirby :-)

July week 1 TV

Skandar Akbar opens the show with a little challenge. He wants Butch Reed back in the ring against Kamala!!

Skandar Akbar challenges Butch Reed to a rematch "We may have underestimated your abilities last time. But I will have Kamala better prepared and he will devour you. For starters, I have brought in one of the greatest wrestlers in the world to show you only a piece of what my Ugandan Giant will do to you"

(C rating)

Kamala puts the explanation mark on the challenge in his match against Big Jim Lancaster. Kamala destroys Jim Lancaster as Akbar has him worked into a feeding frenzy. Kamala chops the big man down, pats the belly, and delivers the Big Splash for the win. (C- rating)

TRON vs Koko B Ware

Jim Ross comments that TRON is trying to capitalize on the popular movie from last year. Bill Watts says while he's not a fan of such stunts, it is obvious that this young man has a lot of talent. The two high flyers work the crowd into a frenzy with their dropkicks and bouncing all over the ring. Tron catches Koko with a Butterfly Suplex for the win. Fans roar their approval for the match (B- rating)

Butch Reed watches the match from the back, then tells Jim Ross that he will accept Akbar's challenge. "I'll take on anyone you want to throw at me. Any time, any place"

Butch Reed vs Chavo Guerrero:

Chavo was the surprise that Akbar and Friday promised - he puts on a good match with Reed and works him over with a variety of moves. Chavo holds Reed's arms to allow Friday a free punch, but Hacksaw Reed powers out and Friday hits Chavo by accident. When he gets up, he is greeted by the Shoulderblock and Reed has pulled out the win.

Rating: C

Reed leaves the ring to avoid being attacked. Chavo, Friday, and Akbar argue about who is to blame for the loss. They seem to reconcile and turn their attention to other matters.... (D)

Akbar, Friday and company hurl insults at the poor state of affairs they see in Mid-South. "look at this idiot Tron. Since when do we allow movie characters out here. It turns my stomach that these weak American fans cheer for this kind of so-called wrestler." (d-)

Bobby Jaggers vs Mr. Wrestling II:

these two did not click at all. Jaggers tried to maul the masked legend, but the fans chant "2, 2, 2" which revives him to mount a comeback. Mr. Wrestling II delivers the Million $ Kneelift to score the win at 20:32. (D)

after the match, Mr. Wrestling II says he has a lot of unfinished business. "Ted Dibiase and Matt Borne injured my tag partner Tiger Conway, they injured a young friend of mine Brad Armstrong. I'd like nothing better than to find a partner and take those titles back. At the same time, this man Dirty Dick Murdoch is parading around with the North American championship and running roughshod over everyone. Well Mister Murdoch, I dont think you can run over me. I'd love to put that belt in my trophy case when I retire. If you have any guts, you'll get in the ring with me. I challenge you to put that title on the line against me.

B- rating for the interview - saves the show after the lackluster match! It also boosts the title match heat from C to C+ for the July month-end show.

FINAL SHOW RATING: C

my thoughts: sad state of affairs when Kamala vs Lancaster is a better match than Mr Wrestling II vs Bobby Jaggers. no accounting for taste I guess.

to my knowledge, there was not a TRON gimmick ever used. But it was a top movie from the timeframe we are in (and I am borrowing from the Lazartron one to an extent). Do not be alarmed though - I cannot see Bill Watts allowing a cheap, taudry gimmick to last very long.

I'll just ask that if you're sure you know is TRON is, to refrain from posting it just yet. (you can email me for extra credit if you want). It was a last minute idea I thought about or I would played it differently. Still, I hope it comes off ok (with maybe a slight surprise for some).

I saw MW2 and immediately thought Modern Warfare 2 then

lol - I know. I need to take a wrestling break soon to shoot up some bad guys.

I pretty sure the TRON gimmick is unique to you diary,I was ragging on Lazertron and that goofy tag team from JCP in the 80's that was supposed to be from the future(I forget the team name atm) with the Dusty crack, that was an honest to god part of one of those "futuristic gimmicks"....in the future Dusty Rhodes was President of The United States.....which is quite possibly one of the scariest things I can imagine.

The New Breed Chris Champion & Sean Royal... I actually thought they were a good team despite the bad gimmick

Ok. I'm going to give the "Fan Appreciation" Dream matches an early trial run:

Pick one man from Block A and pit them against someone from Block B to pick your "dream match". Since there not "millions of votes" you can pick 3 different matches (in order from MOST wanted to 3rd most wanted). I will weight them giving more credence to the top match. If you only to pick one, that's fine too. (I'll let this one simmer down, then I post blocks C and D with more main event stars).

BLOCK A

Art Crews, Big Jim Lancaster, Tim Horner, Terry Taylor, TRON, and Bobby Fulton

BLOCK B:

Jim the Anvil Neidhart, Chavo Guerrero, Iron Mike Sharpe, Wild Bill Irwin, Chick Donovan, Brickhouse Brown, and Phil Hickerson

PM your choices to me

whoever gets the most "weighted" votes from each block will be in a feature match. the runner-ups will be given some heavy consideration for a match as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

meanwhile on the next television show we will see the debut of the Fabtastics (Terry Taylor and Bobby Fulton - name is a work in progress if anyone has a better idea). They will meet the team of Brickhouse Brown and Koko b Ware.

also in action: Skandar Akbar sends another henchman after Butch Reed...this time, the giant Russian Nicloai Volkolff.

Ted Dibiase hopes to derail JYD's pursuit of the tag team titles by putting his hired gun Hangman Bobby Jaggers in the path.

Nature Boy Buddy Landell still claims he should be the #1 contender to the North American title and will challenge Mr. Wrestling II for that slot.
