The Final Countdown
They finally acknowledged the man's existence.... so I've been reading the thread and I want to ask is it worth it to watch RAW this week? I see that Shane has came back so that has peaked my interest in the right direction but is it a cohesive show? The only parts of the show I really enjoyed were the Shane segment, the Brock/Ambrose stuff (though the parking lot attack was replayed way too many times), and HHH beating the holy heck out of Reigns (and turning face in the process, or so the crowd reaction would lead you to believe.) But I'm someone who skips right past anything that doesn't look interesting, so maybe someone else is more qualified to answer this.

Than nothing until the last like 10-15 minutes when HHH murders Reigns

REST....IN PIECE *Does the eye thing* But in all seriousness it should be a very interesting segment, I imagine Taker is going to refuse to fight him and somehow Cena enters the match. I'm curious to see how they try to explain why Taker would be doing Vince's dirty work for him. Seems more like a job for HHH or Briscoe and Patterson. KeyserSoze
<p>I think Shane O'Mac is a one-shot to help with all the injuries. </p><p> </p><p> He will have a good road-to-WM with the Taker. He will have his 2-3 bumps and willo lose with the Taker. Now don't get me wrong, as I said above, I don't think Shane's sticking around longer than say, like 6 months of Raw's after WM.</p><p> </p><p> But when you start mentioning how bad the ratings are, and how the stock is plummeting, you have to do more as a public company then have the match at Mania, squash him, and then say "haha dumb idiots, we don't care!"</p><p> </p><p> Say what you want about Vince, but he's a smart business man. He has to know that "authority fatigue" has set in with the audience. It would seem to me that a Shane win and a Trips loss puts them on firm footing to "reset" the main event scene. Shane doesn't have to stick around for ever to accomplish that, but he needs not to get squashed by taker (who I don't think he'll even fight. I expect "taker speaks!" next week to be essentially "who the hell do you think you are?" "I'm your boss DAMNIT!" and set up a wrinkle. </p><p> </p><p> On the other hand, maybe Vince just really doesn't care, as long as the new TV deal money rolls in. If he doesn't then Shane losing and Reigns winning is the way to go I suppose, then we get.....more authority angles! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Blackman
<p>Shane losing and Reigns winning seems like the obvious and only option. I can't see how they (and we for that matter) would profit in any way from another result. </p><p> </p><p> The PPV itself was fine, I guess. But why the hell did they book that Social Outcasts match? Was there no place on the actual "Main Event" card (or Superstars for that matter)? I know PPV's aren't supposed to have a co-main event - it's not like MMA - but this was pretty crappy for a match that high up the card. PPV slots shouldn't serve to further low level storylines, even if they're entertaining as f*ck like this one. It's not like the match - or rather segment - before was that good it needed to be completely forgotten.</p><p> </p><p> Main event was a safe bet for them, and well booked imo. I almost feared Nikki was going to get the title handed to her, but thank god that didn't happen. It'd be a slap in the face for the new influx of talent. The post-show featuring E&C was funny at times, even though it started out very awkward (wtf was that remote scene?). I liked most segments, and E&C have good chemistry obviously.</p><p> </p><p> But are we excited for Mania? Some people will probably are, but I assume most are relatively less excited than normally. They'd have to do a pretty nice job building it up as it needs a good supportive undercard. The main event doesn't intrigue me. It indeed feels like a "plan B" given the injuries.</p>
liontamer
Curious to see 'Taker's response (if he accepts the match). If he does accept, he will obviously play heel in aligning with Vince. Since I don't see the Sting angle benefitting anyone, what could work is Vince dragging things out to rub in the beatdown and then an appearance by Texas's own to deliver a stunner for the home crowd. Would make more sense than sting because austin has always feuded with vince and had joined the invasion under shane if I recall correctly. K-Nection
<p>I rather enjoyed that RAW for once....Still not thrilled about a certain storyline (looking at you Hunter and Reigns) but other than that it was a serviceable show. I mean he has been disengaged for a long time and the last time he was around they were having celebrity GMs.</p><p> </p><p> A brand split would have the potential to make some stars again and god knows that this company needs them badly. Especially since Smackdown is on level ground with RAW as far as TV Broadcasters go we can actually realistically see how they would do.</p>

I really don't think they have the roster depth for a brand split. Not to mention that the previous brand split was consistently terrible apart from the short period where Heyman was running Smackdown. Notwithstanding, I enjoyed that Raw. It built up some interest on my side for a few Mania matches. Shane vs Taker will be an interesting story to see develop and Dean vs Lesnar should be great. However, I couldn't care less about the main event and it's frustrating that once again they leave the build of the good stories they have to the last minute instead of planning ahead, but hopefully we should get a decent show at Mania. The WWE has been so focused on pushing 1 man as a Face of the Company that they have forgotten anyone else thats not that guy. They havent build other characters especially their mid and lower card. Rayelek
So 5 weeks until Wrestlemania, and we have 2 matches scheduled, plus we can assume a Divas match. Doesn't WWE usually do a better job of setting up their biggest show of the year?
