The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

I was just watching the Donald Trump material on the WWE network (for 9.99).

If ever there was a WWE Hall of Famer that would ever become president of the United States, Donald Trump would not be in my top 5 (and I mean that). But here we are...

Koko B. Ware 2020!

(If we aren't reduced to a smoking wasteland in the next four years.)

Where is the like button? :p

The RAW crowd was a little too disrespectful sometimes. I get that they started random chants during the comedy matchup with the Golden Truth, but there are limits. They made Bailey look awful. Charlotte improvised much better but it didn't fix it. Sasha did handle it like a boss. Such a talent on the mic. But the announcement of Dana shut 'em up temporarily, hehe.

People forget that both Angle-Saxon and Contintental crowds love this form of social singing. It's been around for ages. NXT crowds do it right though.

I feel like it's the immovable force of a crowd who want to hijack the shows and become more important than the performers, meeting the immoveable object of stubborn and out-of-touch booking on the part of WWE. Crowds are disrespectful, no doubt, but the unwillingness to shape booking based on organic crowd reactions inflames that problem.

I mean, when Shockmaster fell flat on his glitter helmet, even WCW didn't try to keep pushing him as an unstoppable babyface. I suspect today's WWE would continue to plow ahead with the planned booking.

You are correct in saying this is not the thread for this discussion but I did send you a PM on how I would fix that particular predicament.

But yet they are still making more money than ever.

That could have something to do with everything being more expensive (merchandise, ticket prices etc) as well as the little thing called the WWE Network. I know people who don't like the current product but got the Network to rewatch WCW and early WWE. Fans are however turning off Raw and Smackdown Live a lot more (see TV ratings).

I personally dip in and out of WWE and rarely do I watch the entire show without forwarding it through some garbage or another. I can usually get through Raw in under an hour and Smackdown in about 30-40 minutes, and that's only if I decide to watch it at all. I do watch Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania every year though out of habit.

I don't skip through in fear of doing something else, but I often play card games and play it on the background so I can listen to the angles and alt-tab to the spot replays. I do try to watch all PPV's from beginning to end.

Wasn't smart to let RAW end with Reigns' music. Loved the IC title match but that Figure4 was a complete joke. I mean come on... It's gotta look a "little" bit real, right?

Smackdown was good, but I feel like they made a major character misstep in the women's angle. Bayley participating in the mugging of Nikki made no sense for her. She's the Uber face. She'll fight back if attacked, but she shouldn't jump someone like that.

I'm guessing Bayley was blackmailed into doing it. There's just no other way around it.

I'm with you on the Figure Four, I thought it was really weird how Dolph was on his stomach reaching for the ropes but Miz was still on his back. The move couldn't have been on right, otherwise Miz would have been turned over too.

I always said if they wouldn't have John Cena do it then they should not have Bailey do it and that would keep that character's core values in line. Now we see the beginning of the end for the wholesome character.

Suprised no one mentioned yet the whole Dolph losing the IC title. I know that a heel (Miz) vs Face (Zayn) is better in theory, but I was kinda hyped for the Dolph vs. Zayn matchup. Wonder if this means that Dolph is set for doom, or maybe moving into greener pastures? And what about Taker saying he's back? Should we expect a part-time return other than wrestlemanias?

I also would've liked to see that. It was indeed a surprise (at least to me). Great match though. Funny how one of the announcers mentioned Ziggler "always brings it in big matches" (or a paraphrase of that). Wasn't that, like, his thing? That he always fell short? They frickin' build a (interesting) story around it... And all of a sudden he always rises to the occasion?
