The Final Countdown
Sounds more like a Kevin Dunn thing to me. Wasn't he the one who decided to use that Peter Gabriel song in 2006?

Russelrules44
Why do I get the feeling they only called it this because the person who made the song died recently? (At least, I think he did)

Yeah but Big Time was a great choice for a PPV song. And Peter Gabirel is awesome.

Blackman
<p>Are we done with the DQ finishes on PPV's now? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I guess postponing an official decision is a way to keep people interested as long as it's early on the card, but the Cruiserweight title match was great until that happened. It makes other pro wrestlers look like idiots for not replicating this every damn time. "Fake" or not, you shouldn't reinforce this behavior by playing the cheater's music. There must be some sort of logic that remains consistent throughout the programming. Otherwise you're just a circus where nothing mathers. </p><p> </p><p> Cole's "ball of fire" line in the Bayley-Bliss match was good for a laugh, though. Bliss looked great with that red title btw. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> And can we now have a match type that is rated on acting? After the House of Horrors match (and Final Deletion) there might be a realistic base for it, though you can always call it a segment and plan the match afterwards.</p>
Jaysin
Match thoughts: Jericho vs Owens- Very fun match. Jericho winning caught me off guard, but it was one of his best performances in his current run. They work well together regardless if they're teaming together or facing each other. Just well done over all. Loved the powerbomb into the frankensteiner into the Walls. That spot gets attempted a lot, but it's rarely as smooth as it was in this match. Austin Aries vs Neville- Good match until the finish. I hate that ending. Over done. Hardys vs Cesaro & Sheamus- Before the match started I told the people I was with that the Hardys will win and then Sheamus/Cesaro will turn heel. I was so happy I was right. The post match assault and then Sheamus's twitter insults were delightful. It's just a shame Sheamus is involved. Alexa Bliss vs Bayley- Good match, Alexa rules. I love Bayley, but I can't not pull for Alexa. Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton- Ugh. Matt Hardy better have had some say in this match. It was a blatant Broken Universe rip off. This would have been better if it had been the Broken Hardys facing off against the Wyatt Family. They could have ramped up the camp factor and really ran with it. Rollins vs Joe- Very strong match. Joe just needs to wreck the whole roster. He's too good and too bad ass not to be near the top of every card. Braun vs Roman- Braun rules. Both guys worked their butts off and had a fun, energetic brawl match. Roman's post match refusal of medical attention just makes him look like an idiot, not a bad ass. I did love on the post show when Braun ran into the ambulance door and ripped it off. Braun has improved as a worker faster than anyone I can think of in recent memory. milamber
Payback: Jericho vs Owens - Good match, surprise result. I assume Jericho will drop the title at Backlash (to AJ maybe) and get written off TV after that. Aries vs Neville - MOTN for me. Neville plays the desperate champ well (like he did in NXT) so I'm glad he retained. Shesaro vs Hardy Boyz - Good stiff match and an even better heel turn. Bliss vs Bayley - Good match. Loved the finish because it sounded brutal when Bayley hit the ringpost. Alexa has been booked as a star on the main roster. Orton vs Bray - Way more entertaining than it should have been but they made a mistake not ending it in the house. I hope they ease off the supernatural stuff with Bray. Rollins vs Joe - Good match. Braun vs Reigns - Good match. Reigns' sell job was top class. Strowman vs Lesnar should fun. Verdict: On paper the card looked average and I wasn't hyped at all to watch it but they pulled out an above average PPV thanks to some good match scripting. Greylocke
Clearly, this new PPV is going to end with Kane randomly showing up and throwing a fireball into Lesnar's or Strowman's face in a Vintage WSX moment.

jjohns44
Man that backstage segment with Kurt and Jericho I wanted Chris to call Kurt "Kirk Angel" for old time sake. Jericho isn't just a future hall of famer, he is the damn hall of fame. More than 20 years he's able to keep himself relevant and change his gimmick every few years and still make it work. Gets better with age and I don't think he can top it after his latest run(although if he does come back, he just might. He doesn't get to move as fast now that he's in his late 40s but you wouldn't guess he's that old the way he carries himself. He was my favorite as a teen when I first started watching WWE and he's still my favorite so I could say he is my all-time favorite.

To me Jericho is not just the best thing in WWE right now, he's one of the only two guys in history that is a definite "draw" (speaking just for myself, of course). As in, it doesn't matter how much his character may have been jobbed out, how badly his storylines might be written, or even how horribly his matches are booked.....you stick Jericho's name somewhere on the card, and I'd want to watch the show just for him, because I know that whatever content he has to work with, he'd somehow make it entertaining, and I'd get my money's worth. Booking and context don't even matter when this guy's involved. He turns crap into gold and gold into some material that is infinitely more priceless than anything Ted DiBiase can ever afford. Random thoughts: - Drew Gulak finally gets something interesting to do. I hope they let him do what Samoa Joe used to do in TNA: just have him turn his back and casually walk away during matches when his opponent is going for some silly contrived high spot and let them crash and burn. That would be awesome and perfect for his storyline. - Glad that I decided to catch NXT from last week. Gallagher/Bates was one of the best things I've seen on the show in months. I hope when the UK show begins they'll move Jack over to that. He being wasted now.
milamber
Hopefully after Backlash Raw and Smackdown will settle into a better groove with their new rosters. 205 Live has been my favorite WWE show for about 2 months now. More quality matches and less filler. NXT has also improved a lot lately. Looking forward to the upcoming Women's Tournament and UK tapings.
