The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

There is a screen capture from the video on Smackdown that gives a preview of the new look to the arena. It is pretty good. Giant video board. Assuming there will be barricades, but no plexiglass? Looking forward to the changes. The original NXT served a purpose, the WW-Indie NXT served a purpose. Time for a new phase.

Love how some folks who were adamant about not going to Raw or Smackdown are changing their tune with the rumored upcoming NXT cuts. Don't limit your options, always look for new challenges.

I caught a glimpse of it, it kinda looks like slightly bigger but still a small arena. Let's see what Vince has on his sleeve.

Apparently Bruce Prichard's big idea for Adam Cole on the main roster was to be a manager not a wrestler

Doudrop's oily bisexual diaper guy, or the main event of the biggest show of the year working with all my old friends. Can't imagine how you could turn down that kinda mega push.

I was just thinking of the worst possible thing I could see a writer pitching Vince. Usually pretty close to the pin.

I was referring to the manager but, but I quoted the wrong one. But unless Cole said "this was pitched to me" I don't know how much stock I would put into it - partly because it makes no difference if he's not there anymore.

Another week, another good Smackdown.

Funny they're advertising NXT's reboot as 2.0 despite it being the third version.

Not a huge fan of Rollins, but him and Edge tore the house down again. I'm glad Rollins seems to be ditching the cackling and idiocy, but the Glam Slam botch had me laughing pretty good.

I was going to say the main event was great with a crap finish, but then The Demon showed up!

Too bad they're bringing the Demon back on this. If it was just Finn, I could see a repeat of the Brock vs Eddie at No Way Out, where Goldberg cost Lesnar the title - with Lesnar costing Reigns the title in this case. But if it's The Demon I don't think it fits the character.

It would be a fresh wrinkle to Lesnar's character - "of course I want the title but I can get that whenever I want - first I'm going to take him out."

Have there been seeds planted for what will happen when Reigns is no longer champ? Because from what I've seen so far, the gimmick is dependent on being champ.

Samoa Joe has chosen to relinquish the NXT title. He has some injuries built up and the medical staff wants him to take a brief break from in ring activity and he believes in fighting champions.

It's weird that this happens a few days before the relaunch of NXT.

Strange how that happens... Going to be interesting to see how Gargano's "renewed push" goes now that Vince has control.

But then again, I did stop watching WWE. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Can someone recap a bit what the NXT reboot is all about? Are they concerned with the ratings drop vs AEW? After a quick google I learned that they want to take it back to the 1.0 days (2k15). Not sure what the difference is. Wasn't it a dev territory back then. I guess now it's an alternative/indy fan show for those with few hours to spare on TV.</p>

<p>They basically want to go back to the OVW days - something that will get guys main roster ready. Right now it's WWIndie - which was fine for what it is. I don't even know that NXT 1.0 was getting them main roster ready guys. I love Breeze's work, but that character was tailor made for NXT at that time. Bull Dempsey was another one. There were a few standouts, but it wasn't necessarily in ring work. And in the Indie phase, there were only a few guys I could see beating Lesnar. Mind you, some could have very entertaining matches with him, but winning? Doubtful.</p><p> </p><p>

As for Gargano, I think his out of ring stuff is fantastic. His in ring stuff has a market, but main roster isn't it, unless it's a midcard act. And not denigrating that either, there's room for it on the card.</p>
