I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't part of the release. He's been with the company for what, 18 months? If they didn't at least have a timetable for bringing him up, and wanted him to sign a new developmental contract and/or take a pay cut, this story makes more sense. It still doesn't make much sense considering Punk and Bryan's ascension and the fact that Hero looks way more like a star than D-Bry. I mean how can you not find a place for a 6'4" guy who can work multiple styles and connect with the crowd?</p>

The fact that they have guys who have not even been seen for as long as he has been contracted still under contract (Ezekiel Jackson, Mason Ryan who disappeared even from NXT, Curt Hawkins, and numerous other wrestlers)</p><p> </p><p>

This is a guy who was placed in the main event of development almost instantly and every time he has a match the commentators fawn over how good he is, and how he came up with Punk, Bryan, etc. It just seems extremely counterproductive to promote someone the way they promoted him and release him weeks after putting him back on TV, in a main event position.</p><p> </p><p>

In the end he's still an elite talent and can get bookings all over the world so he'll be fine, but its disappointing to see someone who I've been following for years get dropped right after it looked like he was coming back up.</p>

JTG is another guy who i have no idea on how he's still on the roster. Hawkins is good in my opinion, i would love to see him being used better, but that's not happening

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Smackdown Review:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Axel vs Punk</strong> - Axel jobbing like a true IC champ in an average match. He's still bad on the mic. I wish they'd let him wrestle a more technical style, although he did do a Perfect Plex for a change.</p><p>

<strong>Funkadactyls vs AJ & Tamina</strong> - Above average divas match. Cameron looked suprisingly decent.</p><p>

<strong>Del Rio vs Khali</strong> - Ugh! Thanks goodness Del Rio won.</p><p>

<strong>Bryan vs Harper</strong> - They played up a Bryan shoulder injury. Harper impressed once again. Good match. Ending with a staredown between Punk/Bryan and Bray.</p><p>

<strong>Cena vs Ryback</strong> - Looked like a decent match but I fast forwarded most of it because I had no desire to see this old match-up again.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Average show despite the added star power. Surely they could have found better opponents than Khali & Ryback. The Punk/Bryan/Wyatts storyline is gold.</p>

<p><strong>Raw Review:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Decent show. I enjoyed the Big Show chokeslam on Orton, Ziggler vs Axel, Cena vs Real Americans and Punk & Bryan vs The Shield. The Shield and the Wyatt Family facing off was awesome! Everything else was average. Manchester crowd were lively but the unoriginal smark chants were lame.</p>

<p>First Raw I've sat down and watched for a couple months and I liked it. I can already tell I like Big Show Vs Orton/Corporation alot better than DB. Nothing away from DB's wrestling but he's just boring.</p><p> </p><p>

I liked the way Raw ended, I think putting DB with CM Punk is better than having him trying to entertaining when he isn't. Sheild/Wyatts are both awesome to be plus I see atleast 3 future WWE champions in the two groups with Wyatt, Rollins and Regins. I'm not sold on Ambrose yet but he's a good worker so he could very well get there also.</p><p> </p><p>

I also love the new Kane, it seems to have alot of different paths it can take, I hope they keep it up and book it right.</p><p> </p><p>

Overall I feel I may start watching more regular to see what comes from all this. I love wrestling and WWE has been lacking in Entertaining me for along time but maybe it will start to pick back up hopefully.</p>

He come out, said a few things on a few occasions, and the crowd backed him. However, in comparison to when he was with Kane, he has had very little mic time. Personally, I like the "More action less talking" route. However, Steph, HHH, and Big Show has had most of the talking time these days. I think after Survivor Series it will get better though. </p><p> </p><p> I loved the Shield vs Wyatt Family tease on raw. Hope that happens in the future, as to me it looked like it might be leading to a "Face" turn for the Shield.</p>

<p>This is exactly why I would argue DB is one of the most entertaining superstars on the roster. He's made his name in the ring, no doubt, but what got team hell no over was his work with kane on camera. they worked brilliantly together and they got over as much during those segments (if not more so) than they did in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

The "yes" chants, the "No" chants, the "Yes" chants again. This wasn't just awesome ring performances. People connected with he character when he was both heel and face.</p><p> </p><p>

Does CM Punk cut a better promo? Yes. But he's the best. Other than Cena what active full time wrestler consistently does better mic work than Bryan? Maybe Miz? I would argue his promo skills aren't that great if he can't get over as a babyface. Orton just started being good again after years of being dreadful. Ziggler's improved drastically on the mic but DB's better (IMHO). Bray Wyatt is still building his character so I mean we'll see if he can stay over. In my eyes DB is number 3 on the microphone alone for full timers behind Cena and Punk respectively. </p><p> </p><p>

Lately he's been showing charisma and presence we hadn't noticed before as the tough badass. He's entertaining in every way in my eyes. I think the dude's completely reinvented himself as a WWE superstar and done brilliant work. He's gotten over in every situation he's been in since the Nexus storylines. I can't think of a more consistent entertainer on the roster outside of punk and cena.</p>

The gameplay is shocking - it's a reversal-fest and you can't put on decent matches. Every move I do is reversed, every move they attempt I reverse, rinse and repeat (yawn). I could not find a single redeeming feature that made me think "this is actually pretty good". Most of it was a rehash of 2013, I mean the Creation Suite is exactly the same, no new logos etc that I can see, just the same items that were in it the last 4 years so you create the exact same workers as any other year. The title Creation is a bit better than last years. I didn't bother with arena creation or logo creation because I have no interest at all in those things.</p><p> </p><p>

30 Years of Wrestlemania mode - well I gave up on WM1 because it is crap. Tedious mess of John Studd reversing almost everything Andre attempts before glitching into 12 (yes 12) Lou Thesz presses! Pretty shit considering it's supposed to be a powerslam challenge and I cannot figure out how Andre does a powerslam! Tried every combination of buttons I can when Studd is at critical. "The Streak" modes are just as tedious and annoying with 90% of the match just being reversal after reversal after reversal (and no you can't switch the reversals down for this mode).</p><p> </p><p>

The "current day" roster is pretty rubbish too. I get it's meant to be full with legends etc which is cool... but David Otunga in the game over the Intercontinental Champion, Curtis Axel? Seriously? 3MB in over The Usos? Too many "who cares" wrestlers in the game and not enough I will ever use (outside of legends). This also makes Universe mode suck. Shame really because WWE games were making some real good steps previously. This just seems like a quick cash in.</p><p> </p><p>

There's actually two sets of (multiple) sliders that effect reversals. There's also an option where you can basically turn off any damage done by reversal animations. That's in addition to customizing how much damage things like finishers do.

 

The griping about the roster is pretty old hat. Yes, it's kind of a shame that a Bray Wyatt isn't there, but that's why they've got all these fun to play legends. Because they recognized they just can't take the time to code in a guy unless they know ahead of time that he'll be there and a big deal-it's been an issue since forever and adding more unlockables is their best solution. I'll take Curt Hennig over Curtis Axel anyway. Some of the missing characters will be added in DLC, and it's really easy to find decent CAWS of pretty much whoever you're looking for if the lack of Curtis Axel is that appalling.

 

Yes, it's the latest entry in a sports franchise, so it's not always the most innovative thing, but it's fun, customizable, and has much better online support than last year's. I don't play much online but THQ's online set-up had a 50/50 chance of crashing just looking at created content.

Don't get me started on his ring work either because to me he's below average at best. The guy does absolutely nothing for me.</p>

<strong>Bayley & Charlotte vs Summer & Sasha</strong> - The divas are killing it on NXT. Charlotte turned on Bayley, giving her something more to do than be Flair's athletic daughter. Is BFFs the first ever diva stable in WWE?</p><p>

<strong>English vs Camacho</strong> - Regal has a man-crush on English who is getting over quickly with the fans. Camacho (and Hunico) are good enough to be on Smackdown putting over midcard babyfaces.</p><p>

<strong>Graves vs Neville (2 out of 3 falls)</strong> - Former tag champs turned enemies. 1st fall to Neville after Red Arrow (Corkscrew shooting star press). 2nd fall to Graves -- Neville tapped out to Lucky 13 after Graves worked over his injured knee. 3rd fall to Neville, reversing Lucky 13 into an inside cradle. Good match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Solid show but I can't wait for Zayn and Dallas to return. And I want to see more of Leo Kruger.</p>
