On these other indy shows he is also pretty much guaranteed to get the biggest payday. He also talks about it in his highspots shoot how you dont always report all of your indy earnings on your taxes which is also a break.

Hey I'm sure AJ's doing fine. But like I said his situation when he left TNA and Punk's leaving WWE are completely different financially. I provided numbers. Now I wouldn't swear on a stack of bibles over those numbers due to sources but they're probably in the ballpark. Two completely different financial situations separated by commas and zeros.

I think if Punk is really moving on from WWE he's doing something else completely. Maybe he's saved his money and he'll take a paycut to do a passion project but I mean to risk your body for ROH for a slim pittance when he could be making points on a Wrestlemania PPV... I mean that simply makes absolutely no sense.

There's a few big names in Japan that could draw some nice money for Punk.

I still think he's going back to the 'E sooner than later but we'll just have to see.

Maybe. In a perfect world. But he will NOT be there full time. I promise. I'd be more than happy to make a friendly wager with any of you who think CM Punk will be a full time ROH member within the year. Seriously.

We can't bet money because it's illegal of course but perhaps an embarassing signature or something? I don't know. I am 100% certain that CM Punk is not going to be a full time ROH worker anytime in 2014. Not going to happen. The money doesn't make sense, nor does it make sense logically. Supposedly the guy's leaving because he's unhappy with his WWE spot. He's knocking on the door of being a top guy for WWE you honestly think he's going to work an indy fed? AJ Styles was working arenas selling MAYBE a few thousand seats per show for TNA. I was at their show in philly and they sold less than 2,000 seats at the Liacorus Center. His situation and Punk's aren't really comparable from a business standpoint. Punk's not going from selling tens of thousands of seats to working a god damned armory in Maryland lol. comeon guys.

Well, duh. Of course he isn't going to go back to ROH full-time. AJ isn't either; he's just making some appearances there. But Punk popping up at one of their Chicago Ridge shows, and maybe wrestling a dream match or two? I could see that, if he is well and truly done in WWE for the time being, which I still have my doubts about. Dude broke down in tears his last night in ROH, so obviously he has fond memories of working there.

I've seen him previously make a few remarks in passing about doing a 10th anniversary rematch of the second of his three matches against Samoa Joe, the match which allegedly led to Foley urging Vince to sign him. I know the odds of that happening are next to nil, but they at least look marginally better right now than they did 24 hours ago. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Yeah I mean I could see him popping into a Chicago show or running a program with somebody to "make" them. I know he won't get paid near what he was in the WWE but again they have had Flair, Foley, Storm, now AJ Styles and I'm sure others work their shows. All of those guys could have obviously charged more than ROH could give but obviously there were deals worked out so everyone got something. Who knows I'm kind of over the Punk talk. I think its kind of like the moon landing. If you don't believe its happening there is nothing that is going to convince you. Even if Punk misses Wrestlemania people will believe "its part of the show" because yeah you're going to purposley miss the one payday a year everyone wants. However people are gonna believe what they're gonna believe. I'm more interested to see who the IWC appoints as their number 2 guy now that Punk is gone. Cesaro maybe? Or they wait till Sami gets the call up?

Why I people putting AJ Styles in the same category as CM Punk? I don't mean to sound like a troll but logic tells me that TNA and it's wrestlers aren't anywhere near the popularity of the WWE and it's wrestlers. Throwing out "well AJ is working for ROH, why wouldn't Punk?" Is ludicrous. AJ Styles isn't that well known outside of the wrestling fan base, where as CM Punk has been on talk shows, in national media, he was the WWE Champion for over a year.

In short, AJ Styles is no where near (NO WHERE NEAR) the draw that Punk is. The two of them working ROH are very different situations. You can't compare them.

The fact of the matter is that Punk vs AJ on ROH would draw much interest from knowledgeable fans, but not that many would care. They couldn't fund a kickstarter campaign with the 'interest', but if both guy's hearts are in the exact same place, we might see that match come to fruitition. It is a matter of hearts, not paychecks. It will not shock the world, obviously, but many would look forward to it.

If we're being real, we can pretty much dismiss the possibility of Punk working a 'gala' ROH match, but it IS possible. In his interview with Ariel, he says he doesn't know what he's going to do. Whether he will face AJ or someone else from his past is arbitrary imo. I do see him appearing in a Chicago show, like someone suggested.

This is not a work if it was WWE.com would have a story on it. Anyway my guess is Punk takes the next 6 months to heal and go watch baseball games. I bet Punk will get the itch to go back to WWE. I think he ends up as a surprise entry in to next years Royal Rumble where he wins it and goes on to main event Wrestlemania 31. I don't think he will go back to working indies.

All I'm trying to say is you can't laugh at me in one breath for putting together some timing issues and thinking "work", then start psychoanalyzing the guy and telling us all why he's going to ROH. That's even more ridiculous.

He left WWE because he wasn't being used in high profile situations and that part timers were taking big spots. Right? Supposedly? You guys have all the answers.

So now he's going to become a hypocrite and do the SAME THING in ROH??? LOL! And he's certainly not doing a full time run that's just crazy. A few people have mentioned that around the internet and that's just fanboy talk. Which I get, because I'm a huge fan of the guy which is probably why I was thinking "work" in the first place.

If he wrestles again it would be because WWE is making it worth his while. He's not passing on Wrestlemania 30 to wrestle an armory in Maryland.

To be honest, I didn't even notice Punk wasn't on Raw this week. My assumption is, this all has to do with the part timers coming back and taking the guys who bust their asses on house show's spots.

If this isn't a work, he's going to regret it. Vince never let's people get the last laugh over him.

That's pretty obvious isn't it?

Basically, he's going to work with two part-timers and yes if Punk's contract is up in 6 months and he hasn't signed an extension there is no way Triple H or anyone in the world is going to allow themselves to job to a guy leaving. The time honored tradition is something Vince holds to the most esteem, just ask Bret Hart.

However you seem really hung up on the money aspect and how he wouldn't pass on this huge payday to do something small and worthless financially.

Isn't entertainment FILLED with guys doing just that? Dave Chapelle turned down 50 million dollars and like six months later he's at the Laugh Factory doing a stand up routine. Do you think they were paying him 50 million dollars? Or was it he enjoyed doing something and wanted to just get back to the part of it he enjoyed doing? Afterall there is no way he would turn down 50 million dollars to do a comedy show at the laugh factory....except for he did.

Music is filled with guys that get pissed off at their label, they walk out and wind up signing with some small indy label because they just want to make music. So why make music with your buddies in an indie label if you can go back to the big label and make music with them?

look at all the actors that make cameo appearances in movies with their friends. Are they getting paid their normal fee? Not a lot of times they take a huge paycut to have fun with friends. So why would they take that huge paycut to have fun with friends when time spent on that movie they could be doing something that pays them a lot more.

This literally happens all the time across every genre of entertainment so I don't know why its so hard for you to accept that Punk can just be fed up with "sports entertainment" be upset with this company in general to the point where he walks out on Wrestlemania's payday because to be honest we don't even know how the payday is going to work. With everyone buying the network they'll get WM for free so the buyrate could wind up being like Wrestlemania 13 levels. Point is I don't know why you can't accept that an artist, an entertainment, anyone would walk out of something paying them a lot of money especially when they already are financially set and then go on and do a small passion project. In this case why wouldn't he do a return show in say Chicago or Philly a one off night. You're not taking somebody's spot if its a one off night a homecoming of sorts.

It just baffles me that people that craft their online personas so much around certain facts from these dirt sheets. Triple H is bad, Vince McMahon is clueless, etc etc etc then turn around when these same reporters give them other information and say "I believe all of that but I don't believe this" its silly. And even the people that are saying "see this is why I don't believe the dirt sheets" are full of it because I've seen all of them in here making comments that only show up in the dirt sheets. If ever there was a reason to sit back and just watch this is it. If he shows up hey awesome everybody can be like "omgz I know the most on the inter nets I was right CP Munk has shown up on RAW bow before your work knowing masters" and if he doesn't show up then people can convince themselves that he took Wrestlemania off to heal up but he's coming back! When he shows back up a decade later everyone can say "ah ha I knew it was a work!".

I'll go on record as saying I'd bet my account here CM Punk doesn't wrestle at Wrestlemania. Why am I so sure? I guess for the same reasons everyone else thinks this is a work. There is a lot more evidence pointing towards he said "screw you guys, I'm going home" than there is that the WWE has this well thought out, intricate, subtle storyline when they can't even push Daniel Bryan right. They're falling into that thing ass backwards and anyone that believes that the plan all along was for DB to be getting involved in the main event are delusional. They can't push Ziggler right, they they haven't done anything with CM Punk all year, D Bry is only close to where he is because of sheer will power of the fans. There is no way they have flipped some magical switch after 12 years and came up with the most interesting, thought provoking storyline in over a decade. When he's been outspoken for years about his growing dislike for his work place and then the only thing he did of note all year was feud with Lesnar. Now he's involved in Triple H's deal after they kept him out of it in a vaccum all year until just weeks ago. The only thing getting worked is the people that are so obsessed with the word and so afraid of getting worked or in such denial that this is possible.

Stennick since you post these giant walls of text can you bother trying to read what the rest of us type? My posts are a few sentences long. It's not that hard. I think this'll be the 6th time I've said it, but I agree with you a one time appearance, maybe even a small handful, is possible but (in my opinion) very unlikely.

I've also clearly stated that when I'm shooting down his return to ROH, it's a full time return I'm talking about. I'm not going to fight you on this it's quite frankly an exercise in futility since we agree.

However, I have no choice but reading some of them given they're administered by other members in forums. I don't mind it that much, I just don't abide by them. And it's always in the form of "I heard that", "I read somewhere" or a direct quote from a website, which honestly doesn't make it sound all that more credible in my eyes.

If anything, my biggest pet peeve are the dirtsheets before Mania. That's when they get the most invasive and all over the place, you'll have news sites predicting the top 5 matches penciled in for Mania, and I find it unnecessary. On the heels of Batista winning the Rumble, everybody resorted to Bryan facing Sheamus at Mania. Why? Because some site told them that. Some people were actually bracing that more to happen then Taker/Bryan, which I feel that's how it's gonna go, but honestly anything could happen. They could throw a curveball and have Bryan face Lesnar or something. Triple threat, fatal-four-way even who knows. That's the reason I'd ever keep watching WWE, to keep guessing.
There's a lot of factors too. Example: When DB had his run at the top this year it was in the middle of Monday Night Football season. I'm wondering if Batista returned the night of a huge NFL matchup if it doesn't also tank in the ratings.

Im sure if DB was selling shirts off the rack like crazy and what not they'd push him as "The guy" and all that fun stuff. But anyone who has ever read a book by any former WWE employee knows that WWE upper management can be petty and spiteful at times. That's not dirt sheet gossip. That's based on just about every wrestler's biography known to man lol. They all have a psycho Vince story. OR two. Or twelve :-)

It appears they really are simply insisting Batista is a huge draw even though IMO he's not. He's not The Rock and not a viable main event for Wrestlemania when Punk and Cena and DB are on the roster in my opinion.

The week before wrestlemania I'd LOVE to see what Batista's tshirt sales are going to look like. I have known very few wrestling fans who pick Batista as their favorite lol. I enjoyed his "I want the spotlight on ME!" run before he left the last time and all but I mean he was a heel not a merchandise machine. I dont criticize WWE booking a lot but when I look at what's going on with Batista it's a resounding "Why???" Because of ONE ratings book? Or is it really simply the fact that HHH is pushing his old buddy to the moon just because?

OK I'm off the soapbox now I'm just being a gossip queen:-)
