The man could sell sand to a Kalahari bushman and have him HAPPY to hand over livestock for it. It's obvious that they've misused him in the past (Curtis Axel? REALLY?) but he's probably the only non-wrestler who can actually give a worker a rub without having to take a single bump. Please....no more Cenas. I really hope nobody gets put in that position ever again. I would love it if Pauly managed a heel Roman. That would make him very credible and he would have a major schooling in promos. Honestly when Brock split from Paul in the mid 2000's you could tell he learned a lot because he didn't do a bad job himself. Brock can actually talk it's just Paul is such a great hype man why not let him do it.

The wrestling world will always have "Cena's". Whether it's John Cena or Hogan, there will always be a long term face of the company.

Well I don't mind having a "the guy" just not have him shoved down your throat...maybe have "the guy" takes some depushes and repushes would help. Cena actually being out of the main spotlight for a while is helping me not hate him as much. They needed to book him this way for a few years.

For those interested and haven't seen, they have uploaded up to episode 104 of WCW Nitro on the Network now, which gives us the first two years of the show (09/95-09/97) :):)

Excellent. I'm in October of '96 right now so this helps greatly :)

I'm going to NXT tonight, so I'll hopefully be able to let you guys know how it was in person.

NXT Takeover Brooklyn:

Breeze vs Liger - Good match. It would have benefited from being 5 minues longer but as a one-off exhibition match with no build I understand why they shortchanged it. Nice to see Breeze busting out new moves. I hope we see legends like Liger (who can still go in the ring) bought in for future events.

The Vaudevillians vs Team BAMF (NXT Tag Team Championship) - Good match. The Vaudevillians have been on fire lately but I'm still surprised they won. Blue Pants was a big hit. I hope Jordan & Gable get a shot at the next special.

Dillinger vs Apollo Crews - Solid match. Standing moonsault shouldn't be a finisher because Neville does it as a signature move. Apollo's entrance theme is hype. I predict he'll be WWE Champion in the next 5 years. Dillinger is doing well in the CJ Parker role.

Corbin vs Joe - Solid match. Joe winning was the right call to keep the feud going. Corbin still lacks personality but this was by far his best match.

Bayley vs Sasha (NXT Womens Championship) - Easy MOTY Contender. So many good mark-out spots. Sasha is my favorite WWE wrestler right now (with Zayn injured) and without doubt one of the most complete wrestlers in the world but I was Team Bayley all the way for this one. So happy for her. Personally, I enjoyed the Four Horsewomen breaking kayfabe at the end but I'm sure Jim Cornette will rant about it on Twitter tomorrow.

Owens vs Balor (NXT Championship) - Great match. It worked so well because they didn't spam unbelieveable ladder climb spots like a typical PG WWE ladder match. They simply made smart use of the ladders to hurt each other. So much for the taping "spoiler" of Owens winning the title back. Shame it had to end the show because they were never going to top the women.

Verdict: Best Takeover yet. The main events lived up to the hype and all the undercard matches delivered -- a rare achievement. The crowd were hot. The production value of the entrances, lighting and arena setup were befitting of SummerSlam weekend. Corey Graves bought his A+ game on commentary. I really hope SummerSlam is just as good but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

NXT was amazing from start to finish. Womens title match was MOTN IMO. Hopefully they stop portraying Bayley as this underdog who isnt good enough now and give her some real personality. Owens vs Balor was good. Nothing special though. Owens cant catch a break in WWE lately. Breeze is winning me over also. Corbin i like but he does need more personality. Squashing some random joe isnt going to win over a legit crowd that NXT has.

Crowd was on fire all nice. I hope Vince was watching. Thats how you entertain real fans.

I knew takeover would be a better show before the women's title match NXT had a much more focused and complete story for every match as compared to summerslam. That being said Summerslam has been a very good WWE PPV and is probably their best show of the year so far

I'd give SummerSlam a 5 or 6/10. Owens/Cesaro was good but it didn't matter, Cena/Rollins was great (I didn't hate the ending because hashtags and headlines), and Brock/Taker, ending aside, put on an awesome match. I thought Amell/Neville vs. Barrett and Stardust was fun too. But I'm sure you guys will come up with all the negatives I'm not going to bother to get into. Takeover was far better.

After the lack of anything interesting in the Am-Bros vs. Wyatts, I was really taken out of the show because I knew they weren't going to take any risks. All this stuff was so conservative and it shows that the powers that be don't mind getting creatively blown out of the water by NXT.

Wow. Horrible show on two accounts. A double count out and the main event. I'm in shock..

That's it? That's really all that happened?

What about Seth Rollins vs John Cena, The Shield vs Wyatt Family or Kevin Owens vs Cesaro? Weren't those some good matches?

In other news New Day finally won back their tag team titles; PCB finally completed step 1 on their Divas Revolution and Jon Stewart made for an incredible host, Didn't you enjoy that?

In short; did those happen? Yes. But don't let those get it the way of everything else that happened. IMO; I thought this was a pretty solid PPV. Hoping that they can keep this momentum going, but who knows?

OK. can some one explain what the hell JUST HAPPEND?

Let me guess, someone "got to the time keeper" and Undertaker does the unthinkable, he "aligns" himself with the authority, just so he can get retribution for the loss at WM. I am calling it right now

How about this? *puts on Vince Russo thinking cap on* The Undertaker fooled everyone into believing that he had grown soft and decided to call on a higher power; (The Authority) to restrengthen him, to do so; he had to give up his immortal powers and give them to Seth Rollins, now mortal; he had to resort to dirty tricks in order to keep his place in the WWE. Including the low blow.

In the future; they will have a hell in the cell inferno barbwire punjabi prison on a pole match to determine who truly is the alpha male in the WWE. *takes off cap* But of course; that's just me.

Wow all this hate on SummerSlam. Insane. The ending wasn't as bad as everybody is making it out to be IMO. I didn't NEED a clean ending. Taker gets the win in the books, but Lesnar gets to stay looking strong by not having the tap out noticed by the ref, and then refusing to tap out when he got locked in Takers hold. Undertaker hasn't been acting like a good guy very much during this return, so it makes perfect sense that he would steal a win while the ref and the others were trying to figure out what was happening. Lets see where this goes...the ending give us some wiggle room to keep the story going.

And can we get over comparing NXT to WWE? They are different, judging them against each other is just pointless. I watched and completely enjoyed both shows, but WWE isn't stupid, they want them to be different, that was obvious in the small changes between the shows in regards to things like lights in the arena. NXT can keep its brands identity with its darker look and more work horse style. SummerSlam (and the general WWE main roster brand) was obviously designed to be more pomp, drama and glamour and there is NOTHING wrong with that. WWE strives to be a variety show, and I think they are well aware of the variety between their shows as well.

That being said, if you don't think WWE is making a shift and changing tides, you're also just being blind and ignoring the good things happening. 6 matches tonight featured guys previously in NXT. Change is coming along, but you have to work it in. You can't just shove it down the vast majority of fans throats overnight.

I watched both shows with my cousin who hasn't watched wrestling in a long time, but is getting back in to it. He completely enjoyed both shows and even he noted that they both had different feels to them.

If I was going to rate the shows, I'd give them both an 8/10. NXT was slightly confusing to me in terms of start time. I thought it got switched to a 3 hour show with more matches? Even the last promo WWE published to YouTube led me to believe the show had an extra hour at the start. When I tuned in at the time mentioned, I was greeted with a Balor mini documentary and and then it said we had a preshow. Me and my buds just played video games through the next hour. I thought the matches they taped for a NXT tv episode were going to be on the regular show. The run over on time didn't help me in terms of confusion. Other than that, the show was fantastic for the most part on its own. A couple things that I didn't like, but overall it was great and yes, Banks vs Bayley is definitely a MOTY contender.

SummerSlam was good too on its own. Amell did better than I expected, the main downfalls of the show were the double count out (but it wasn't too bad, as there were no titles on the line and it was a lower card match), the initial main event confusion, and the IC title match in general.

On another note, can we talk about how amazing everybody who used the white/black/gold color scheme looked this weekend? Bayley, New Day, Rollins all looked great!
