<p>Because they won't always be there. I don't have any clue what the inner workings of the WWE contracts, but it would be nice to have a Raw midcarder go to NXT and have an extended feud with someone, while having maybe one of the NXT guys go to Raw.</p><p> </p><p>

Sort of in a "We don't have anything for them on Raw, but there's a fresh feud in NXT."</p><p> </p><p>

It'd be good because you can revitalize the character that way (Tyson Kidd was one of my favorites when he got hurt, thanks in large part to his time in NXT). And conversely, you can test a worker from NXT on the main shows to see what reaction they'll get. (I know they already do this to an extent with house shows). </p><p> </p><p>

That's the long way of saying - I think it's fine that they're keeping some big names down there. Eventually I do think they'll rotate some guys from there though.</p>

Wait... so WWE are now doing two brands again yet see it fit to not pick up Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and the likes? Wow.

I talked about this with my Friend.

If your WWE, do you really want to waste those guys "holy blank!" moment on a draft special?

Example: nakamura. Everyone is waiting for him to show up on Raw or Smackdown. If you have him drafted, even like 3rd like Finn, then you get the breif "ohhhhh!" pop and a video. Weeee.

If you wait till like say, a major PPV, and out of no where the lights go down and "the rising sun" hits, the place explodes.

I think this is also the Reason bayley didn't get drafted but I am still fairly confident she is showing up tonight as Sasha's "mystery partner"

if you have her get drafted, then she gets a minor draft day pop. You let her come out sunday to her full theme, and the roof goes off the building.

You saw this with Finn too. Finn's selection got a good cheer, but your not telling me it would have been x10 if he just came out to the demon entrance on a main TV show or PPV at some point.

Yea they might have just shot themselves in the foot by even allowing NXT wrestlers to be drafted. With all the points that Crownsy brought up it would make a lot better sense just to roll them out as surprise moments. All it accomplished was making the Commissioners and GM's looking dumb by not scooping all the best ones. The only way I could have seen them justify that action is by saying that these were the wrestlers whose kayfabe contracts that were ending with NXT and they were getting ready to be free agents.

They wouldn't have all gotten a huge pop, and if they consistently did these "surprises" it would devalue the later ones. Not to mention, at some point, they would leak out.

Also, say Nakamura, Aries, Roode, Joe and whomever else you want to bring up at once - more than one doesn't get to the main event at the start. Are you going to push Cena down the card? Reigns? Orton? Bray?

If they did them correctly it would never get old. Now if they did them all the same exact way then yes.

If they were smart of course they would push their older guys down the card. If the new fresh guys are getting over than it's the job of the established veterans to turn them into stars. People like Cena and Orton are at the point in their careers where they have little to no value as world champion but they would be excellent at teaching and putting over the younger guys. Reigns needs booked correctly or the fans will never accept him. Bray needs management to actually get behind him or he will always be a jobber to the stars.

<p>We will agree to disagree on Bray in his current form. PPV has been mostly good so far.</p><p> </p><p>

Couple of results that I would change, but enjoyable anyway.</p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: ...did Roman not enter through the crowd for fear of being attacked?</p><p> </p><p>

EDIT 2: Really? So I started the PPV late (but started watching from the beginning)...and at some point in the main event it cuts out and tells me the Cruiserweight Classic is on next. Really? Don't feel like fast forwarding through everything to watch the main event.</p>

<p>Great main event, and i'm glad Dean won, but we're going with the actual company title going away from the flagship show routine again? Right... Makes a lot of sense. Keep a title for decades, build it and bill it as the top prize...send it away from the flagship show. These guys had no fresh ideas for this draft. Their need to try and do some camera work to try and make the rosters look bigger then they actually are during the title match was just hilarious.</p><p> </p><p>

Let's see where this all goes with the whole new era thing, but since the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has been refered to as simply WWE Championship since June, we all know where this is going. I hope all those rumors about bringing more people back are true, since they will need more people to keep 2 world titles without 1 or both losing prestige. And they will need more actual over people.</p><p> </p><p>

But that main event was very good. I thought that for a triple threat, which isn't always an easy story to build in the ring, they were great. Would love some more Shield matches like those, but for now we will see them in different brands. Reigns managed to be booed during the whole match. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

It was obvious why Roman was busted in his steroids. His jaw line is jacked up, bunch of fat in his face, and for some reason his stomach area....

He wasn't busted for steroids, he was busted for Adderall. A medication for ADD/ADHD that's also used as a party drug.

Pretty good show though.

Sasha, Bayley, and Charlotte being in the same match makes Dana Brooke look even worse than she actually is. I didn't think that was possible, but she is easily my least favorite person in all of wrestling. She's just so bad and awkward.

Six Man tag was fun. Some good spots between the Wyatts and New Day.

Rusev killing Ryder was gret.

Zayn and Owens of course tore the house down.

Nattie and Becky seemed like it dragged on and on. I love both of them, but it just felt way too long.

I love Bob Backlund with Darren Young and I love the Miz. Kinda glad the feud didn't have a definite ending.

Enzo, Cass, and Cena vs The Club was great fun. Enzo was on absolute fire in his pre match promo.

Main event was good, not great. Rollins' Pedigree is just so bad looking. I wish he had a different finisher. Right man won though and the right man certainly took the fall.

This sets up Roman and Rollins feud to continue since Rollins had Roman beat before Ambrose snuck his way back in.

Wasn't a great show, but it was good and fun.

Battleground Review:

Usos vs Breezango - Solid match. First time Breezango have looked like more than jobbers.

Charlotte & Dana vs Sasha & Bayley - Solid match. I was expecting Paige or Carmella so I was grinning as much as Sasha when Bayley's music hit. The pop was incredible.

New Day vs Wyatt Family - Good match. Even Rowan & Strowman looked decent. I'm happy Bray got the pin.

Rusev vs Ryder - Good match. Mojo barking at Rusev was lame but worth it for Rusev calling him a random fan in a tweet.

Zayn vs Owens - Fantastic match even though it should have been a Last Man Standing or Street Fight. Zayn's botch was scary but they did well to work it into the story. Perfect end to their feud (if it is the end...)

Natalya vs Becky - Solid match for the spot it was in. Nice to see a heel win clean.

Young vs Miz - OK match ruined by a protected finish to keep the IC Title on Smackdown.

Cena, Enzo & Cass vs The Club - Fun match. The Enzo & Cass promo was one of their best.

Orton/Jericho - More entertaining than expected. It's good to have Orton back.

Rollins vs Reigns vs Ambrose - Good match. Can't believe Ambrose retained! Does that make Rusev the top guy on Raw?

Verdict: Good show with better booking than usual.

Was anyone else just as confused on what story they are trying to tell in the Darren Young vs. Miz match. Honestly I couldn't see why the ref called for the bell since nobody laid a hand on the participants and it was way too quick to be a count out? Also was pretty confused on why Maryse was showing fear of Backlund after she slapped him and knocked his front tooth out.

We were scratching our heads on the finish of Young/Miz as well. It looked to me like after Maryse slapped him, he jumped up and tried to tear off his shirt and she fell backward and then was saying that Backlund hit her to Miz, which set him off and he ran down and got into his face and shoved him to the ground, then the bell sounded? Not sure what the heck they are trying to do....

I doubt he would risk that move just for a spot.</p>

If anyone had any doubts, they are gone now. Bayley is a certified mega star. Can't wait until she is called up for good. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> #HugLife

<p>My jaded level is over 9000 or whatever the hell they say on dragon ball.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm not a fan of women wrestling in general and I haven't seen much NXT. Bayley does have the electricity about her. No doubt. </p><p> </p><p>

I did enjoy the show last night. I love it when Randy Orton is on fire, it is very rare, like that time at Money in the bank 2011 against Christian. He just came across like he was so happy to be there last night. Viperville. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Dean Ambrose getting the big win and his back and forth with Daniel Bryan got a thumbs up. Unlike Raw and the relationship Steph has with everybody. Daniel is the opposite. I think of TEW, Steph would be iron fist and Daniel is over in velvet glove/loyalty.</p><p> </p><p>

I don't mind those Bob Backlund segments, but the Miz and Darren Young match was about what you would expect. Rubbish. I guess this must happen again. Wait. I keep forgetting about the brand split. </p><p> </p><p>

Rusev ftw. </p><p> </p><p>

I wasn't thinking, but I was hoping the family would turn on Bray. I want to see him as a babyface. The heel Bray has well run its course. Even if the face/heel divide isn't what it used to be. Can he go any higher? Doesn't help that he loses all his key feuds. At least they won last night. Maybe things will change after the draft. I have to try and stay positive and see if any real changes are made.</p>

<p>I wonder if There is something strange going on though with the GMs, Cesaro, Shane and Steph. That statement about how SD was going to be the show where the management took a backseat and let the talent shine. So far, it has kinda been the opposite - Steph and Mick have looked more calm and subdued, while Bryan and Shane are playing to the crowd, taking up space and taking the opportunity to share the glory with Dean Ambrose. Right now, it looks kind of like a bit of role reversal.</p><p> </p><p>

It may be nothing, but I thought it was interesting.</p>

<p>Bayley high-fiving one of the entrance dolls was the highlight of the show. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Was that even intentional? If not it was a brilliant spontaneous</p><p> </p><p>

I loved the Hightlight Reel too. Classic stuff. Gotta like the new Y2J.</p>
