Looks awesome Clarity.

Guys, what is the process for getting someone from DAZ into WMMA/TEW? For instance, if I save a render as a .PNG file and then in Photoshop save it as a .GIF file, it turns up with white specks around it. I'm not particularly savvy with the whole file format stuff, so I don't even know where to begin. :)

You can't stop the specks, but you CAN make the specks black to blend in with the WMMA background a bit better, by setting the 'Background Color' to black. Can't remember where this setting is, but click around, you'll find it. Think it's near to the zoom-in/zoom-out, banks, rotate, pan stuff.

.GIF's aren't great quality, but I'm sure WMMA uses them for a reason, so specks are here to stay it seems.

Thanks a bunch, mate. Looks a lot better now.

As an aside, I've had success with my first render. :) I want to put some gloves on him eventually, but introducing David "The Collector" Bonelli:

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING FURTHER, resave the file under another name as you don't want to overwrite the original texture. </p><p> </p><p> Once you've done that, you can start editing it. Keep the original texture as a background layer for a while, that way you can line things up and size them easily. Then it's really just a case of creating new layers on top and drawing on shapes, pasting pictures from the internet, whatever. For a simple test, you could just create one layer on top of the original and draw some white stars on it or put some text on it.</p><p> </p><p> When you're done. Save the file again and make sure it's in the file format that DAZ uses (.jpg). Go back to DAZ and back to whatever section it is where you can apply textures and simply select the new file you've create and voila.</p><p> </p><p> Again, I'm a Poser user so some of that's a bit vague, but basically it's just a case of taking the a texture you want to use, load it into an image editing program, draw on it, resave it, select it in DAZ, render.</p><p> </p><p> I did start a tutorial on facepaint ages ago, I'll try and find it and post it here sometime. The basic principle is the same though. Take a head texture, draw on it, resave it, etc.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> As I've said before, i got the hang of it but what do i do when I have something that has textures, elbow pads/knee pads/boots specifically but those textures can't be located?</p>

<p>I was making a few test renders for a "taped glove" texture on my wraps, and here's how it came out after tweaking the texture enough to wrap correctly on the map:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>Original Render</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/GlovesTest05.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Renders with Bump Mapping setting played with</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/GlovesTest03.png</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finished Renders</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/GlovesTestC.png</span></p><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/GlovesTestA.png</span></p><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/GlovesTestB.png</span></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

And then I thought it was okay enough that I wanted to make a worker render out of it!</p><p>

Introducing, <strong>Mikhlos Amadopolis</strong>!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx166/FullMetalitia/Miscellaneous/MikhlosAmadopolis1.png</span></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Mikhlos Amadopolis worker render is free to use for any and all private and public games and mods, as it is merely the default Mike 4 texture with a wig and taped gloves.</strong></p><p>

I usually go into photoshop and create a new image e.g. 500x500 or 800x800 dimension-wise, then if I were for example making a design for a black t-shirt, make the background solid black and then just follow the same process of adding on what you want. The only real difference is that this requires some experimenting to get the positioning and scaling right as every item is different (you may find the dimension of the image you've created is too small and the design is too stretched). Sadly there's no universal way to do this, it really is trial and error and isn't desperately fun. </p><p> </p><p> Once you have got everything position how it should be and the texture appears on the render how you want it, save your work as a .psd (or any other format that will allow you to edit the layers) so that you have a base to work from in the future when you want to make another texture for that object.</p>

<p>I was working on a re-render last night and I found a useful bit of free clothing.</p><p>

If you're rendering with Vickie 4 and want a usable pair of free gloves, you could download the "Aggro Collection" by CorinthiansCori from ShareCG (requires registration, but it's free), which also contains capri pants, a corset, punk boots, and a scarf, as well as morphs and textures.</p><p>

It's a couple hundred MBs though (the pants and corset are beasts), so it's best to try and keep constant usage of the larger pieces limited to projects where you have a glut of time to wait for loading (and possibly rendering).</p><p>

In fact, CorinthiansCori has a bunch of awesome free clothes for V4 (and Aiko, and A3/V3), so check it out. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>EDIT: My bad, the Aggro collection contains a single right-hand glove. Good for 1-gloved renders, I guess.</strong></p>

Hope I don't get beat up for asking, but...

Any chance anybody will be putting this on the default blue background? That's an awesome alt for a heel Lenny Brown (in my opinion).

I don't have any way to do it right now, but if you have the blue background (should be in the people folder) you could do it yourself at http://pixlr.com/editor/

I just don't have any of the files on this particular computer.

I didn't even realize that it was a PNG file and that it was transparent. I thought I was going to have to make a cut (which I've never done) but it was much easier than I imagined (resize, copy and paste). :D Thanks for the link and giving me the motivation to try it myself. I won't lie - it did take me a little while to do those three things. I'm very bad when it comes to graphics, but basic image editing like this is something I've always done for web sites.

EDIT: He looks so short - terrible, haha. I tried again though...

Just finished doing a bunch of WMMA renders. Mostly rehashes of my dailies I was doing here a little while back, but there were a few original characters. Here they are in 150x150, in case any TEW fans have use for them. Free to use however y'all like. Mods. Diaries. Whatever.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/BarryCut.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/Asian3.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/Asian2.jpghttp://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/Asian1.jpg

and finally...

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/IshmaelWhite.jpg

Almost posted this in the 'Re-Render' thread as a new Edd Stone, but... I don't know. I find re-rendering characters who already look pretty good a bit presumptuous. It's like redesigning Wonder Woman to me. I fear backlash. So instead of Edd, I'm just going to refer to him as "Call Me" Ishmael White. He's on the hunt for his "White Whale". That's right. He's a chubby chaser. CALL HIM!

Although I may use him as Edd when I pick up TEW again.
