Board Effort Towards a Fictional Universe...

Totally random thing I picked up on whilst having a look at the data BHK sent me a short while ago. I dunno if this still exists, cause it wasn't the up to date set that I looked at, but AJ Starlight's steroids issue should probably be set to 'known', given his backstory.

I present Hugh Manatee (a name of a Canadian comedy troop with Nathan Fillion that I adored).

My plan is to make him the blandest person in the history of professional wrestling. :p

Jonanthan 'Crossface' Curtis

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/8541/pro028.jpg

Jonathan 'Crossface' Curtis was a huge name in British professional wrestling from the mid 70s to the mid 80s, holding the GBWF Heavyweight on no less than 4 seperate occasions. However on the birth of his grandson Jonathan realised he had pretty much missed his daughter's entire life up to that point and turned his back on the industry.

When he was thirteen Matthew Curtis Jr found a box full of old programmes, an old betamax tape and a singlet under his grandfather's bed and Jonathan came clean to his grandson. Matthew begged his grandfather to train him, admitting that he had a massive passion for pro-wrestling but his mother had always got angry when he watched it of talked about it.

Jonathan agreed, and saw so much potential in his grandson that he went on in 2005 to start his own promotion but displeased with the the current UK promotions' focus on entertainment Jonathan has opened a promotion where actions speak just as loud as words like the good old days, OSBW

Matthew Curtis Jr

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/4178/pro027.jpg

A gifted UK worker who, given a few more years, could become one of the best technical workers in the world. Trained by his grandfather 'Crossface' Curtis and with a fantastic in-ring presence, he wrestles under the moniker 'The Total Package' and uses his grandfather's famed modified Chickenwing Crossface submission to win his matches.

Tyler Jordon

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/3805/pro026.jpg

Although getting on in years Tyler Jordon (45) is still a force to be reckoned with in the ring and still popular with UK audiences even though his heyday was 20 years ago. Although mainly a brawler he can hold his own down on the mat and has a strange charisma that draws people in to rooting for him. Often overlooked by UK promotions these days due to his less than stella mic skills he found his home in OSBW and has held the OSBW British Openweight Title on 3 seperate occasions.

Mac MacDougal

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6408/pro023.jpg

Maccenzie Taylor is a heavyweight Scottish hardcore brawler who worked for Scotland Hardcore Havoc for a number of years as Mac Truck. However he was released in 2008 when creative decided he had run his course. Also released at the same time were relatively green technician Dougal McKinnley and young valet Jenny MacDougal.

Drowning their sorrows in a local pub the convosation got around to names and Jenny joked about if you combine their names you get hers. Mac said 'There's a gimmick there somewhere...' and the rest is history. They headed south to England to show off their new team and were quickly snapped up by OSBW, where they won the OSBW Tag Team Titles in their debut match.

Dougal MacDougal

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3222/pro022.jpg

Born Dougal McKinnley in Glasgow, Scotland, Dougal first debuted in Scotland Hardcore Havoc in early 2008 but his style just did not fit with the promotion's product and he was released at the end of his contract. However, Dougal did make two friends there, Maccenzie Taylor (working as Mac Truck at the time) and young valet Jenny MacDougal, who were both also released at the same time as him.

Jenny MacDougal

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/6066/pro024.jpg

Jenny MacDougal is a young valet from Aberdeen, Scotland who made her debut in SHH in 2006. After being a mouthpeice for the massive Mac Truck for a couple of years Jenny was released at the same time as Mac and rookie technician Dougal McKinnley.

Drowning their sorrows in a local pub the convosation got around to names and Jenny joked about if you combine their names you get hers. Mac said 'There's a gimmick there somewhere...' and the rest is history. They headed south to England to show off their new team and the group were quickly snapped up by OSBW, where Mac & Dougal won the OSBW Tag Team Titles in their debut match.

I'll be altering the renders of the last three with a headband in the MacDougal clan tartan once I find a decent high res image :)

Another star of Old School British Wrestling

ABH

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9893/abht.jpg

Actual Bodily Harm (real name Andrew Benjamin Hamond) is a huge wrestler who hails from Lichfield in the Midlands region of the UK. Not the most gifted worker in the ring, ABH gets by on his entertainment skills and his menacing presence. Also as a former bodybuilder he has a massive physique.

Final two for tonight

Rama Patel

http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/3528/vashsingh.jpg

Rama Patel is a Pakistani wrestler who was raised in the UK. A highflyer by nature, Patel has to try hard not to let his showy style outshine his traditional forigner heel gimmick. Having recently begun teaming with Indian worker Vash Singh as the Sub-Continent Express he is finally gaining momentum in OSBW.

Vash Singh

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/94/ramapatel.jpg

Vash Singh is a British wrestler of Indian desent who usually plays an evil forigner gimmick. Singh manages to balance high-flying and technical wrestling equally well and has recently been paired up in OSBW with fellow forigner Rama Patel to form the Sub-Continent Express.

For future workers, if there are no objections.

Also, could somebody shoot me a pic pack? I tracked down what I think was the most recent one, but the link unfortunately wasn't working. It's a little hard to visualise some of the workers in the data I have (which I understand is fairly up to date, but it's helpful to look at) without pictures, haha.

Hi All, sorry Ive been so terribly absent. A lot has happened in my life over the last two months, dont worry it is good stuff but it has kept me very, very busy. As of this moment I am trying to blitz through turning all my notes into data for REBIRTH and I have encountered a conundrum. How do I best go about creating alter egos for people, like Rikioh Harumi has multiple Alt. Renders with facepaint on, should I make a new alter ego for each alt render?

And speaking of renders, who is available to take some requests and do up characters for me? I have a 13 or so workers who I need to have renders for (and then a bunch of workers who I dont particularly care what they look like so long as they match the feel of the character)

Also, I have grown rather fond of REBIRTH and its characters and I was wondering if anyone would have any qualms about me using them and images based on the renders (which were based on my written descriptions) in further projects of my own?

Also I could use a recommendation for "Gimmicks", is there a pre-existing gimmick that works well for a No-Nonsense Puroresu worker? If there's an obvious choice I must have missed it...

OSBW National Champion

Monsieur Francais

http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4625/monsuirfrancais.jpg

Monsieur Francais (real name Jean DeGaul) is a french masked wrestler who has raised in the UK from when he was ten years old. He plays a patriotic masked character, usually as a heel in the UK and as a face on continental Europe. He debuted for GBWF in their dying days, then moved to Canada and worked there for several years before retuning to Europe.

Two youngsters from OSBW

Kriss Parnam

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6752/krissparnam.jpg

Kriss Parnam is a young firebrand of a wrestler who, in a few years, could have the world at his feet. Hailing from Dudley in the Midlands, Kriss has had a passion for pro-wrestling from a very young age, watching GBWF Wrestling Showcase every Saturday afternoon for four years from 1990 to 1994 when it was taken off air. Then he started looking for tapes, US-A, Kokka No, CWF, anything he could get his hands on. He began his career as a backyarder, but after seeing a friend nearly die in a light-tube screw-up at age 16 he walked away from that scene and sought out proper training. Three years later he made his debut and has never looked back.

Lee Christianson

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2363/leechristianson.jpg

Lee Christianson is a worker who came to wrestling later than most, training alongside studying first for his Degree in Bio-Medical Chemistry, then his Masters Degree. This slow six year training process allowed him to progress his skills well before ever wrestling in front of a crowd and as a result Lee can work a match well with his more than average (for his time in the business) technical and flying skills. He's not too bad on the mic either and works an emo gimmick.

I finally get to use the laptop again for more than a 10 minute period. Im in the process of tweaking stats and writing profiles for some of the workers.

Edit:

I got a render request for one of my workers. Just need a kinda big female body, large shoulders, chunky-ish etc. with a black mohawk.

In addition to OSBW I would also like to announce future promotion New School Pro Wrestling.

Bio:

New School Pro Wrestling was opened in April 2014 by talented British wrestler Matthew Curtis. Frustrated by his grandfather Jonathan 'Crossface' Curtis' reluctance to retire and hand over the reigns of power in OSBW Matthew Curtis took out a bank loan and opened his own promotion.

NSPW has very much the same product as OSBW, although Matthew Curtis has embraced the more mainstream aspects of wrestling and let the traditional feel of his grandfather's promotion slip by the wayside a little.

The product is the same as OSBW except Traditional is down to heavy and Mainstream up to Key Feature. In all other respects they begin in the exact same position OSBW does at the start of the game with Matthew Curtis set as the only madatory owner so its easy enough to add in without any additional data from me :D

This is an either/or scenario. After running OSBW through to 2015 a few times 'Crossface' Curtis tends to retire from the business between Jan & June 2014, with Matthew Curtis taking over. So if Crossface retires before April 2014 this promotion will not happen, but if he takes his time over retiring then his grandson is gonna go into business for himself, in the same area, with a more trending product. Unless, of course, he's hit the big-time by then and is on a written contract somewhere else.

I figure it'll add a little depth on repeat mid/long-term games :)

That's a really good idea. I imagine it'd use the fact that Matt Curtis is a required founder?
