Yeah. And unfortunately it's looking much worse than if he'd just accepted the initial ban.

Wonder who Bisping gets now.

Honestly, I wasn't even sure that was good fight for Bisping. It wasn't like he had a great chance at winning that fight. Stylistically speaking, Sonnen has him beat-Sonnen's wrestling is way better than Bisping's ground game. Sonnen has the kind of Takedown where you have to focus on soley defending the take-down... otherwise, well, you get taken down. Sonnen's weakness is fighters that are genuine (and I mean genuine) Brazillian Jiu Jitsu grapplers, or something equivalent to that type of fighter. Strikers are not very much of a big worry for a wrestler like Sonnen. He's wrestled against other wrestlers, so they aren't really good against him either.

Stylistically I think Sonnen is the worst match possible for Bisping. Chael would most likely take him down at will and keep him down. Bisping isn't useless in either the takedown defense department, nor is he incapable of defending himself off his back, but I feel Sonnen would be too much for The Count.

As far as Bisping's next opponent, perhaps Vitor would be suitable.

<p>I'm not sure he can handle Vitor... in the first round. He'll have to "weather the storm", and I'm not too sure he can do that. I'm not counting him out, but vitor is still very comparative healthly (when you compare him to fellow Brazilian fighters of the same age, who has had as many fights as he has, or fought has long he has), is explosive, has extremely fast hands, coming along with good power in said hands. </p><p> </p><p>

If Bisping can beat Vitor, he deserves a better opponent, too.</p>

<p>So I'm gonna be chilling with Ninja, Shogun, Eduardo, Leonardo Santos, Joao Paulo de Souza this afternoon. #JustSayin <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Fun fact - Santos tapped GSP in a minute in competition at ADCC with a jump-guard armbar. </p><p> </p><p>

Hopefully going to be seeing a certain Mr Schiavello this evening as well! I'll be attempting to grab an interview with Shogun, so if anyone has any (non-obvious_ questions, let me know and I'll ask if I can <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Although I agree, I want to add that, even if you get up from Sonnen's takedown and top control (ulikely, but I wouldn't count it out as a possibility), you would just get taken down again. And Sonnen is not a guy that tire easily. So, either Sonnen will tire from doing constant takedowns, or Bisping will get tired from trying to get up. And since the top guy usually is in a superior position...

As for Vitor, he SHOULD destroy him. but he has a tendency to fade after the first round, either from not-so-good cardio or heart.

Damn, last night was heavy/cool. Rolled into my hotel at 1am and Liam from BAMMA (their Dana White) was in the bar. Hung out till 4am and he told me some awesome stuff, none of which can be repeated unfortunately!

Shogun was cool, but seemed very distracted. He's very small for a 205'er.

Right, gonna sleep off my hangover, will be tweeting results and all that good stuff tonight @MMABayBrad

Distracted? what do you mean by that? By the way, was he as tall as you? according to his wiki, he's 6'1 as well, though I have always doubted that. According to Murilo's profile, he's 5'11", but he looks as tall as you in the picture.

Definitely shorter than me. He just seemed like he didn't like the attention he was getting. Cheered up when his teammates and his bro weighed in, but seemed very shy the rest of the time.

So he isn't 6'1" then! What about Murilo? Was he as tall as you? It liked it was. If so, then my guess is Mauricio os the one that's 5'11", and Murilo is the one that's 6'1". They might have switched it around, but I always it was odd that, when Anderson Silva stood next to Mauricio, he looked so short. It's odd that he was supposed to be 3 inches shorter than Jon Jones, but standing next to him, certainly didn't look like it.

By the way, these fights are a lot more competitive than I thought they were. Looking at the the record of John Phillips and Tom Watson, they suggest to me that they should be more competitive than people think they are. But since they aren't any of the top fighters in the world... it's a bit hard to tell for sure. Your thoughts?

My gut sense is that John Phillips is ready-he's only been beaten by people with decent to good records. But he's winning against guys that range from so-so to not-so-good. The most notable victory I see is James Zikic. It seems like he's got great boxing, but how's his Grappling? Trigg's wrestling is pretty good. However, Trigg has only lost to finishes, with 4 KO's and and 4 submissions. If this one goes the distance, my guess is Trigg will win. Frank Trigg is no slouch in the finishing department, either. This has to be John Phillips toughest fight to date.

Potentially good news for Sonnen. The CSAC say Sonnen can apply for a new licence on June 29th this year when his current one expires, however if he is denied a new license he then cannot apply again for one-year. He can also apply in other states, but they may still want him to be licensed again in California first.

Did anyone else see MMA Live on ESPN and Gareth A Davis talking about the Sonnen situation? I thought he was going to have a heart attack, he was so irate.

This isn't really a good second chance for Sonnen as much as we think it is. Sonnen keeps digghing himself a hole-he needs a lawyer that can do media work for him. Even if he works things out with CSAC, he still has to deal with NSAC. And even if he succeeds here, if Kizer isn't happy...

I don't think we'll get GSP/Anderson Silva. I think GSP has realized that his best fighting weight is around the 185lbs mark, which he fights at now. A Middleweight fight with Silva would require GSP to put on too much weight for him to continue fighting his generally explosive Welterweight style and it would take away his strengths. I think he's even made comments himself that the weight does more harm than good. It would be an interesting fight but I don't think we'll be seeing it. We're far more likely to get GSP/Diaz, which is a fight I'm infinitely more interested in seeing.

Anderson is a huge middleweight with enormous firepower that puts almost everyone at welterweight to shame. Not that I don't think GSP could beat him but it'd be by far the most difficult fight of his career.</p><p> </p><p> Tonight has It's Showtime with Gerges and van Roosmalen/Khamal, BAMMA with Ninja and some other people and then there's JAMES THOMPSON VERSUS PUDZIANOWSKI.</p>
